You decide you don't really have time to fully explore this place. There's simply too much and your team mates need you now.
You hurry back and follow their path. You dash past a couple of dead orcish guards and find them all waiting by a pair of braced doors.

Hack Ravage: "There he is."
Salaman: "Someone on the other side of this door is repeatedly casting a spell to keep it sealed. I also sense a decent amount of magic inside the room."
Oakheart: "No doubt the chieftain is hiding inside. Christof. Prepare your defensive spells and dispel the door."

>The following spells/items might be useful for preparation
Protection from Evil (I)
Shield (I)
Protect (II)
Resist Energy (II)
Scroll (Summon Monster III)
Scroll (summon monster V)
Potion of Minor Speed

>"Let's put and end to this madness."

Entirely possible for Salaman to summon snakes and for you to make a small opening in the door. But if the General is able and willing to flee the snakes definitely wont be able to stop him.

>>2786944
You cast Protection and Shield on everyone (Except the Salamites)
You use your scroll (Summon Monster III) summoning a Small Earth Elemental.
Salaman nods at your creature, "Nice form."
>"The underlings are nothing, make sure the general doesn't get away."

You dispel the door and your team charges in. Inside stands three orcs. Two shamans and General Xorag himself. Wyvern armour, black hair, a sword and shield: A perfect match for Alina's description of him.

Cloak: "General, we have visitors."
The orc leader unfurls a scroll.
General Xorag: "Stay back assassins! Or I will be forced to unleash this scroll on you!"
You have no idea how powerful it is. You know if it were some blank piece of paper Salaman would have said something.

>"You'll pay for each innocent life your horde has taken."
>"Before I kill you, do you know anything about the Wish Granter?"
>"Time to die Orc scum."
>"Fine general you turned out to be, you've lead your tribe to annihilation."

>"what was the point of all this?"
Xorag: "Survival. My kind has clearly been in decline long before I even existed. Humans continued to develop technologically and culturally while the orcs stagnated. Doomed to inevitable extinction. My goal was to finally force my tribe into the age of Steel."

>"Fine general you turned out to be, you've lead your tribe to annihilation."
Xorag: "Better to burn out than fade away. Given the same choices I surely would have made them. If it weren't for that powerful scroll you'd never would have penetrated my walls!"
Cloak: "Cowards! Cheaters!"

You pull out your fireball scroll.
Xorag: "Don't try it."

he begins activating the scroll...

Salaman casts Unseen Servant, knocking a healing potion of the edge of a table. Possibly distracting the general?

Xorag takes 20 damage.
Cloak takes 35 damage.
Gray takes 26 damage.

Oakheart is confused!

I do appreciate that you guys roll even though you know I always just take whichever one occurs first.

Confusion affects the Player Character differently to NPCs. Can cause unreliable narration.

An ultra violent light covers your party. Chaos stirs in your head like a fever dream. Things get weird...

The following targets exist, they all seem equally hostile to you.

Okay.
Good.
I'm pretty sure we're the only one on our team with abjuration.

You swing twice but you blows are unable to get past the creatures whirling tentacles.
Evil Ulric tries to attack Demogorgon's heads but is Counter Attacked! for 44 damage and is knocked down. Evil Ulric stops moving.

The confusion subsides.
You can see clearly now.

I support your post, except for the last part. We shouldn't push him, maybe he has a good reason to be hidden
>>

>You can see clearly now.

I can see clearly now, but Sal is gone
I can see all enemies in my way
Gone is confusion that had me blind
It's gonna be a tight (tight)
Fight (fright) orcish melee

I hope I can make it now that Sal is gone
All of the bad feelings have reappeared
Where are the salamites I'm praying for?
It's gonna be a tight (tight)
Fight (fright) orcish melee

(Ooh...)
Look all around, there's nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there's none of the blue guys

I can see clearly now that Sal is gone
I can see all enemies in my way
Where are the salamites I'm praying for?
It's gonna be a tight (tight)
Fight (fright) orcish melee
>>
>>2788060
>We shouldn't push him
We could die here.
If he took off because of the confusion, I support his decision, but we need him back.
If he was wounded and would just get killed, then he's smart enough to keep back.
>>
>>2788067
There's a blood trail leading out. He probably got fucked up
>>
>>2791981
That looks like Oakheart is trailing it.
If he lost his summons when he got confused, running away would have been smart and kinda a good idea.

>inb4 he's been floating on the ceiling the whole time.
>>
>>2791981
I agree with this Anon. Sal was in back the last we knew, so that blood is very likely to be his.
>>
>>2798229
Looking closer at the picture, that guardsman has blood on his mace. Did he wreck Sal in his confusion!?
>>
>>2798230
actually yeah.. considering how tough Oakheart and how squishy Salaman are, I'm dreading to see what happened
either case lets count Salaman out for the fight
>>
>>2798229
>Sal was in back the last we knew, so that blood is very likely to be his.
Actually, he was standing pretty much exactly where the trail starts. Fuck.

>>2798230
>that guardsman has blood on his mace.
Wtf resolution you at to see that?

>Did he wreck Sal in his confusion!?
The trail seems ominous.

>>2798242
>lets count Salaman out for the fight
I'm officially changing my suggestion for free action:
>>2788055
>"Salaman! Are you okay? We could use reinforcements sent our way if you're still in the fight!"

Are we feeling particularly sanguinous about this battle?
>>
>>2801070
that sounds like such an out of place thing to say. We're fighting this giant orc and we dont have time to turn away and yell for like 5 seconds
Just fight the general ay
>>
>>2801299
Meh.
Fair point.

I still think we should be able to shout something.
"Where's Salaman?"
"Salaman, where are you?"
"Sal, we need some help from you now!"
"Sally Dooby Doo, where are you? We've got some work to do now!"

I dunno.
