Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:
After taking one of the Covenant warship’s lasers directly, you continued the battle with renewed fervor. After saving a fellow Saiyan by the name of Cassa, you unleashed a new ultimate attack, the appropriately-named Event Horizon, then called the Tamaranean forces back. You’d then held the line, until Aku and his daughters appeared. Then a present from an old ‘friend’ arrived, Meloka cutting the giant lizard in two. You both then flew to the Guardian’s island, aiding the ancient alien and giving him a respite. You and Meloka arrive in time to clear out those attacking him, then you’d felt it as a massive wave descended all over New Salda at once.

”You have fought well, Saiyans.” a booming voice calls out. ”But it is time to put an end to this. All forces! ATTACK!!”

“Of course this attack comes just as Freeza pulls back to rest.” you think as you, Meloka, and the Guardian all watch the ships overhead unleash a swarm of their fighters into New Salda’s sky. Meloka sighs out beside you, you still holding her from helping her back to her feet.

“This is starting to get old.” Meloka says, flaring her Super Saiyan aura up around herself. “How many more of these bastards do we have to kill before they give up and go home?”
”All of them.” you reply, flaring your golden aura up as well. You both begin to float up from the ocean-soaked sands, readying yourselves yet again for battle.

“But, let’s try and save some energy.” you say, gathering your strength for a Death Beam as the swarm draws closer. “No need to let these weaklings drain our strength.”
“Right.” Meloka replies, you sensing her gathering her energy to attack as well. Right before you fire, however, you get an idea. A wonderful idea. You fire your Death Beam, piercing through the closest unfortunate pilot. But with a small effort of will you curve the beam, piercing through the pilot right beside him. With your razor-like focus you maintain your beam, piercing through pilot after pilot after pilot. Within three seconds your beam has already killed over two dozen pilots, and you’re just getting started!

Whatever Meloka’d been planning to do was abandoned, her copying your attack instead. Your two beams carve twin paths of destruction through the sky, the air quickly filling with explosions where the Covenant fighters had been. As your beam continues carving its twisted path of death, you begin feeling the strain of directing it. A headache begins forming behind your eyes, explosions continually rocking the sky. After your attack destroys another few dozen ships you release it, eyes clamped shut from the pain in your head. Meloka keeps up the attack, finishing the last few while you focus on suppressing the pain in your head. After a few moments the explosions stop, you opening your eyes and looking at the aftermath.

“That was easy.” Meloka says with hand to her head, she’s probably gotten a headache from the strain as well. You look into the sky, the smoke clearing and revealing the warships up ahead. Your and Meloka’s eyes both widen a bit, seeing that several of them are preparing to fire their massive lasers. “Shit!”
“We need to move, now!” you say, seeing the ships are about to fire.

“Take this!!” you roar, flying up further into the air and punching forward as your energy violently explodes forth. “DRAGON FIST!!”

“ROOOOAAAAAAAAR!!!” the golden ki dragon roars as it explodes into life, you charging up and through the closest warship’s energy cannon. The ship explodes as you charge through, turning your giant dragon towards the next ship and charging through it as well. You charge through ship after ship after ship, clearing the skies directly above the Guardian’s island. Within a dozen seconds you’ve destroyed over thirty warships, the rest then firing. None of them were above the island, but their cannons still blast straight into New Salda’s ocean. You don’t have time to focus on that, however, your attention fully on steering your attack. You keep blasting headlong through the warships, your Dragon Fist tearing through them easily. Charging through another few dozen, you feel your attack reaching its end. Focusing on the nearest warship you charge through it with the last of your attack, destroying that ship before the golden dragon fades.

“And don’t, haaaah, come back!” you pant out as your golden aura fades, you trying to catch your breath. You look around as yoy drop towards the ground, looking to see if you missed any. You feel a pair of arms wrap around you, looking over your shoulder you see Meloka’s smile, her kissing your cheek.

“You just relax a moment, I’ll handle this.” she says, laying you on the sand then leaping up. You’re laying on your back, watching her fire another protective Hellzone Grenade over the island. With nothing immediately trying to kill you, you focus your senses on the rest of the planet, to see how the battle is going elsewhere.

King Vegeta, Tatsu, and the others are holding the city for now, relatively very few Covenant warships overhead there. Elsewhere, however, the battle isn’t going as well. Nappa’s group to the north of the continent are getting swamped, millions of Covenant forces having landed. The same situatuon is unfolding to the south, Leyas and Sarada’s group being swarmed as well. Over the vast forest the Covenant have begun touching down as well, you feeling them massing in three different areas. In two they’re uncontested, while a small group of thirty Saiyans try to hold back the third.

What will you do?

You want to move, to get up and continue taking the fight go the Covenant, but you also know what you will soon have to face. You haven’t forgotten the Arbiter’s strength, and how easily he was able to overpower you and Meloka. So despite your first impulse to rush back into the fray, you force yourself to lay there, recovering. After another minute Meloka finishes her Hellzone Grenade, landing beside you in the sand. Sle flops back onto her back as well, reaching over and grabbing your hand. You both lace your fingers together, enjoying the moment of peace in this day of war. Another minute or so passes, then the Guardian hobbles over to you both.

“Well you have done, so far.” he says, sitting cross-legged next to you both. “Gather your strength, you should.”
“That’s what we’re doing.” you say, chest still heaving a bit as you still try to fully catch your breath. “Isn’t it?”
“Sit like this, you should.” he says, gesturing to himself. You and Meloka look to each other, then shrug and follow the Guardian’s lead. He instructs you both to sit backs straight, hands resting palms-up on your knees, and breathe in deep. You feel yourself relaxing, the weariness of the battle fading away as you lose yourself. You feel your senses expand on their own, you seemingly observing the entire battle at once as the energy of the living beings on New Salda seems to flow into and through you.

Tatsu and Vegeta finish clearing out the last of the Covenant near the city as Nappa’s group begins getting overwhelmed, two of the Saiyans there under his command dying. Instead of letting the rest of his people sacrifice themselves against impossible odds, he has them pull back and begin fighting their way back towards the city. Meanwhile Leyas and Sarada’s group keep fighting against their impossible odds, you feeling a few of their soldiers begin falling. Elsewhere, the Covenant continue their assault. You sense the two uncontested Covenant landing groups deploying soldiers, their forces headed towards the city. Unfortunately, you sense that the small group of thirty Saiyans are getting quickly overwhelmed, half of them have already been slaughtered as more and more of the Covenant land there. At this rate they probably won’t make it. Your eyes open in alarm, the Guardian looking seriously at you as an odd light blue glow fades from around you.

“We need to move.” you say, rising to your feet. But as you stand, something feels off.

As you rise to your feet, you feel that energy that had been flowing through you beginning to fade away. The glow fades completely from around you as well, yet you feel stronger than when you’d sat down. You look questioningly to the Guardian, the ancient alien covered in the same light blue glow.

“With the energies of the living, you have both connected.” the Guardian tells you, you noticing Meloka covered in the same fading glow as she rises to her feet. “Some measure of your strength, I have restored. More help, I wish I could give.”
“It’s alright, thank you.” you say, nodding to the Guardian. You then look to Meloka, her face serious as she nods back. She clearly sensed what was happening as well. You both float up from the island, the knowledge that you’ll have to split up again bothering you more that you’d thought. But the battle has taken a turn for the worse, you have too much to do in too little time to stick together.

“Help those survivors, I’ll try and slow the tide!” you shout to Meloka as you blast off from the sands of the Guardian’s island. You sense her energy moving after a moment, headed towards the swiftly-dwindling group of Saiyans. You hope she makes it in time, blasting over the open waters then over the mainland. You quickly charge to the group you’d picked to destroy, the forest scorched away in a wide area to make room for the Covenant ships to land. A half-dozen have already landed, another score overhead awaiting their turn to unload as yet another are firing their lasers into the forest, expanding their landing area further.

A much closer threat, however, is the Covenant army they’ve deployed Dozens of their massive six-legged living tanks are escorted by hundreds of Covenant tanks and more one-man ground craft, the vehicles all headed toward the city and not having noticed you yet. Taking advantage of this you raise your arms up, quickly forming a Super Energy Bomb overhead.

“Oh shit its him!”
“Shoot him down, quick!”
“I don’t wanna die!”
“Fuck this, run away!!”

You hear shouting coming from the Covenant forces, but its far too late for them. With a roar you toss the massive ki bomb down, it landing near the center of their forces, then exploding. The blast obliterates the Covenant forces, the shockwaves blasting out from your attack and slamming into you and the still-flying ships. One of the warships on the ground, the closest to the blast is toppled, the force kicking it over onto its back. You sigh out, keeping your breathing even as you can now feel the entire assembled Covenant force’s attention on you. The remaining upright ships on the ground begin pouring their forces from them, as a dozen or so ships in the air unleash their attack wings.

“Alright you bastards, let’s do this!” You shout, cracking your knuckles as you flare your golden Super Saiyan aura up again.

You can’t let any of them get away, you have to stop all of them here. But most of your attacks can’t hit them all, not at once. You have no choice, you have to go for it! You quickly blitz over to the air over the grounded ships, flaring your golden aura up as you cross your arms before your chest and face.

“You come to my homeworld, threaten me and my people, and expect to live?!” you shout to no one in particular, Ascending as you gather in more power. You also spot a few of Vox’s cameras, the Covenant seemingly ignoring them for some reason. “I’ll kill every last one of you!”

You hear the Covenant around you, scrambling to either stop you or flee. But you know it is far too late for any of them now.

RRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!” you roar, your power exploding out from you from all sides. This energy is so much more than you’d ever released at once before. You scream out in agony as your power seemingly tears itself free from you to obliterate your foes. Your world disappears, replaced with a brilliant red light. Sight and sound disappear, only the red glow and roaring of your own ki remain. You struggle for several seconds before you’re able to close the floodgates. As the light fades, you look around and examine the aftermath. You’re floating over an absolutely massive crater, larger than any you’ve ever seen before much less made.

-Red Dawn learned-

You’re struggling to keep floating, so instead of continuing the struggle you let yourself fall back to the ground. You land on your feet in the middle of the massive crater, falling back onto your back to catch your breath. You’re left alone, closing your eyes and focusing your ki sense. You sense nothing living anywhere near you, your attack having done its job. But you feel you perhaps spent too much energy, your limbs feeling slightly numb. As you lay there, you soon hear something approaching. Opening your eyes you see another Vox camera looking down at you, you seeing your reflection in the giant lens. The first thing you notice is that you’ve dropped back to your base form. Before you get up, however, you’re suddenly contacted telepathically.

“Karn, can you hear me?” Leyas asks.
“Leyas, what’s wrong?” you think back, struggling a bit to push yourself to your feet.
“We need your help, we’re losing ground fast.” he replies, you feeling his desperation. “We’re not gonna make it.”

You fly through the war-torn skies of New Salda, speeding towards Leyas with a mind full of worry. The Covenant are causing massive damage to the planet, and from what you can sense have done a number on the Saiyans as well. The Tamaraneans are doing better than before, with them all focused close together instead of spread thin over the entire planet. The Daughters of Aku are also carving their own paths of destruction, as well as the Master of Darkness in the void of space. But your attention snaps to what’s before you, you arriving to Leyas and Sarada’s battlefield. And it’s a mess.

“DIE!!” Oozaru Leyas roars, standing defiantly above a wounded Sarada. He then fires a beam from his mouth, blasting down another Covenant warship. But they’re hopelessly outnumbered, the half-dozen Oozaru and the dozen regular Saiyans still standing all desperately protecting their wounded and the Power Balls. The Covenant are attacking them from the land and air, Covenant tanks, six-legged tanks and small one-man craft fight alongside their fighters and warships, attacking the Saiyans from all sides.

“I’m here!” you shout, blasting right over to Leyas. Looking closer, you see that he’s in rough shape. He’s bleeding from his scalp and a few dozen wounds to his chest, yet he’s still standing tall. None of the other Saiyans are in any better shape, several unable to stand yet still firing blast after blast. You stop right over Leyas’ head, gathering your ki into your palms. “HELLZONE GRENADE!!”

You roar out as you fire blast after blast, quickly forming the minefield around the besieged Saiyans as a shield. You fire mine after mine into the New Salda skies, filling the skies with explosive death in a dome around the Saiyans. You’re left panting, your energy dipping as you fire a few more blasts to finish up the sphere of protection around yourself and the other Saiyans.

“That, haaaah, that should hold them.” you pant out, still exhausted from your previous attack. “Ev, haah, everyone alright?”
“We’ve got nine dead, and another dozen too injured to fight.” Kabuya says, arms wrapped around herself in her base form. She’s staring off wide-eyed at nothing, clearly shocked. “We’re all gonna die.”
“We’re not dying here.” Leyas grumbles, his booming voice startling her a bit. “We’re getting everyone still alive out of this! Now we just have to figure out how.”
“Le...yas...” Sarada’s Oozaru form weakly calls, clutching at his leg. “He-Help me up. I can still fight!”
“Sarada, stay down.” you say, flying over into her field of view. “We’re gonna get you out of here, okay?”
“Karn?” she asks, confused, then relaxing back to the ground. “You... really made... it...”

With that she loses consciousness, returning back to her base form over the next several seconds. Taking stock of your surroundings, you see that there are a dozen normal Saiyans still able to fight, as well as another half dozen battle-ready Oozaru Saiyans including Leyas. Two Oozaru are down, unable to get up but still willing to fight, and thirteen Saiyans are all down for the count but still alive. You need some kind of plan, or you could all perish here.

“I... I need more.” you say, clenching your fist in anger. If you had more power you could end this quickly, but you’ve burned through a lot of your power already. If only... wait! You pull the Bloodstone from where you’d stored it, the gem warm to the touch. During the last few months before the battle you’d made sure to refil the Bloodstone. It isn’t quite up to where it was before Trunks and those Time Patrollers crashed your wedding, but you’d still pumped quite a bit of power back into it. And you need that power back now. Focusing on the ki within the stone, you begin drawing it back into yourself. It feels like a bolt of lightning hitting you in the chest, unwillingly transforming you into your Ascended form. You begin pulling more and more power from it, the energy easing the soreness in your body and leaving you feeling refreshed. You cut the pull before you can completely drain the stone, but you pulled quite a bit from it. With this energy, you can do this!

“Everyone, get ready!” you call out, lightning dancing through your aura and around your body as you tuck the stone back away. “I’m going to clear us a path. All Oozaru, pick up the injured and prepare to move! We’re only gonna get one shot at this!”
“You heard him, move!” Leyas shouts, gingerly picking up Sarada in one of his massive hands. The other mobile Oozaru pick up the injured, you moving to the two other Oozaru. One’s missing a leg below the knee, where another seems unable to move anything below her waist.
“Karn. A word.” one says, you floating up to their head level.
“We’re not going to survive this.” the other says matter-of-factly. “Don’t waste your time on trying to get us out. We’ll buy you time to get them away.”

You don’t try to discourage them, simply nodding.

“Your sacrifices won’t be forgotten. What are your names?” you ask them, as the other Oozaru lift the wounded and prepare to move.
“I’m Maz.” the guy says.
“I’m Kayle.” she says. “Now please, hurry!”

“Right. Good hunting you two.” you tell them, floating back down to the rest. “Everyone ready?”

The other Saiyans and Oozaru nod to you, no one speaking. Its time!

“NOW!!” you roar, throwing your arms wide and sending your Hellzone Grenade exploding out and away from you in every direction. The mines fly out, exploding against the surrounding Covenant forces. But you’re not done yet. With your arms spread wide, you quickly gather energy into your palms, slamming them together and mixing the energies quickly to fire a powerful attack.

“FINAL FLASH!!” you roar, the hastily-charged Final Flash blasting across the landscape. Your attack consumes everything in its path, you ending the attack and reverting back to a normal Super Saiyan. “GO! Move move move!!”
“CHARGE!!” Leyar roars, taking point and blasting forward. The rest follow him, the Oozaru leading the charge then the regular Saiyans following behind. One looks back, you catching a glimpse of Kabuya’s face before she turns, following the others. But you don’t have anymore time to think on them, focusing on the rest of the Covenant forces around you.

“DIE!!” Maz roars, firing a massive energy blast from his mouth into the sky, while Kayle fires a pair of waves from her palms. You focus first on the overhead warships, taking each down with one or two Energy Javelins each. With you, Maz, and Kayle fighting together, you keep the Covenant forces focused on you and not on the retreating Saiyans. You keep your senses partially focused on them as you battle, tracking their progress. After about three minutes of firing your Energy Javelins, you can sense that they’ve made it to the arena.

“Raven, can you open the portal again?” you telepathically ask the witch.
“Of course.” she replies immediately, and after a moment you can again sense Freeza’s ki from the other side, as well as the other Saiyans. But after a few moments, you sense something go wrong. Suddenly the portal closes.
“Raven?” you think out, confused. “What happened?”

But you get no response, you can’t contact her at all. But before you can question it further:

“AAAAAAAAAHHHH!!” Aku roars in pain as he falls from space, slamming through several nearby Covenant warships and smashing to the ground near you.
“Aku?! What’s wrong?” you ask, turning to the demon. “What happened?”
“Something is wrong, Saiyan.” Aku says, coughing a dark fluid into a fist. “They’ve somehow disturbed the flow of magic here, its draining my powers. Me and my daughters must leave, else we will be destroyed!”
“Dammit.” you reply. “Fine, hurry up and get out of here. And thanks for the help Aku.”
“You are welcome, Super Saiyan.” Aku says, his form seemingly beginning to melt a bit. “Now, I must leave. Good luck.”

And with that’s he’s gone. You turn back to the wounded Oozaru, both holding onto each other.

“Go, get clear Karn.” Kayle says, her opening an eye and looking at you. “We’re gonna take these bastards with us!”

You say nothing, simply nodding and giving them a Saiyan salute. You take to the air, flying in the direction the other Saiyans fled as well. You turn back, watching as the Covenant close in on the two mortally wounded Saiyans. You sense it before it happens, the two of them raising their powers in anticipation of their final attack. You witness it as it happens, Maz and Kayle using all of their remaining energy to take as many Covenant with them as they can. There’s no roar of anger, no declaration of vengeance. One moment the two Oozaru are holding each other, and the next they’re gone, replaced by a massive explosion.

“You won’t be forgotten.” you mutter, the waves from the blast knocking you slightly back. You watch as the explosion fades, you sensing all the powerlevels there fade into nothingness. All that remains of them is a massive crater. You look on in sadness for a few moments, turning from the sight of Maz and Kayle’s sacrifice. You have to make sure it wasn’t in vain, and win this.

Focusing your senses, you can tell the battlefield has changed yet again. The Covenant have resumed their attack on the city, the first of the forces that landed in the forest have reached it and begun their attack while more warships seemingly attack from the air. King Vegeta, Bardock, Turles, and Nappa are all defending the city as Super Saiyans, fighting with the majority of the other Saiyans there. Elsewhere, you sense the Covenant touching down in several other places on the continent, and entering the atmosphere uncontested at that. The group Meloka went to save have lost even more, only seven of them remain now. But you can sense they’re headed towards the arena, which is closer to them than the city. Meanwhile the Guardian has been re-engaged in battle, the Covenant trying to attack him. Knowing the old alien, they’re probably not having any more success now than before. However, whatever they’re doing to shut down Raven and Aku’s magic is a concern, especially with Freeza gone. Dammit!

Four fucking Super Saiyans defending the city alongside everyone else should be enough for them.

Looking down you see Leyas has taken up a position defending the arena, along with the other Saiyans who were still in fighting shape who’d brought their teammates to be evacuated. You also see a few dozen injured Saiyans, who were stranded here when the Covenant began blocking magic. They’re all unable to fight, several maimed. You feel your teeth gritting and fists clenching in anger, looking down on your fellow Saiyans and hearing their cries of pain. You turn your gaze skyward, to yet more Covenant warships entering the atmosphere.

“YOU BASTARDS!!” you roar, Ascending as your rage gets the better of you. “I’LL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!!”

“Karn’s here!” Leyas roars, a cheer going up from the Saiyans gathered below in the arena. But your attention is focused entirely on the Covenant warships above you.

“You’re all dead!!” you shout, forming a sphere of ki in either hand. You slam them into each other over your head, the ki multiplying itself over and over, the power exploding out exponentially. “TAKE THIS!!”

You roar as you toss your Event Horizon straight up into the approaching Covenant forces, the sphere of death slowly ascending towards them. Once you launch the attack you revert back to a regular Super Saiyan, panting from moving that much ki in such a short time. You follow your attack with your ki sense closely, and when your attack is in the right spot you detonate it.

“Everyone get down!” you shout, quickly dropping down to the arena floor as your attack explodes. Your sphere of death explodes, consuming the Covenant overhead. The shocks from the attack slam into all of you, nearly taking you from your feet. The other Saiyans and Oozaru are all floored, easily knocked down by the powerful shockwaves. The light of your attack’s explosion is blinding, you shielding your eyes as well. After a few moments the light fades, you opening your eyes and looking around. The others are starting to get up, you noticing a new group arriving as well.

“That’s it everyone, we made it!” Meloka calls out, carrying an injured Saiyan over each shoulder and leading another four into the arena. They’ve all clearly taken a beating, none of them seem to be in fighting shape. The ones who walked in all drop to the ground, Meloka setting the other two down and making sure they’re alright. Once her people are taken care of she freezes for a moment then looks around confused. She sees you and quickly floats over, embracing you and burying her face in your neck. After a moment you feel something wet, you realizing that she’s crying.

“Meloka?” you ask, feeling her grip tighten around you.
“Dammit I tried so hard.” she thinks to you, her body slightly shaking as she sobs. “I tried my best but I only got six of them out. And now I need to get them out of here but Raven’s not answering. What’s going on? Is this battle really the end for us?”

“Well Towa hasn’t showed up or sent anyone yet, so I think we’re still okay?” you think back, Meloka pulling back a bit and looking curiously at you. “Think about it. Every time we were in serious danger we couldn’t get ourselves out of, she was right there. Things aren’t hopeless yet.”

Meloka says nothing back, simply burying her face in your neck again. You keep your arms around her, holding your wife close and comforting her.

“You’re magnificent, Meloka.” you say in her ear, just above a whisper. “Don’t you ever doubt that. Especially now. I can’t do this without you.”

You feel her grip on you tighten, Meloka holding onto you for dear life. You remain there for a few dozen seconds, but all too soon its over, reality crashing back in.

“We’ve got incoming!” Leyas’s booming Oozaru voice calls out, the two of you seperating and flaring your golden Super Saiyan auras instantly, ready for battle. Extending your senses you feel the Covenant descending from space again, a good three dozen warships overhead.

Apologies for the long wait, long work day today.

“Meloka, let’s go! Everyone else, focus on protecting the wounded!” you shout, then blast up into the sky followed closely by Meloka. You charge your ki into your fingertips as you soar higher and higher into the air, your fingertips glowing with readied ki. You charge straight at the nearest warship, Meloka changing course to intercept another and drawing her Energy Blade. You turn your focus to the enemy before you, and charge.

“RRRAAAAAAAAAA!!!” you roar, firing an X-Slash through the nose of the ship, and slicing it into four seperate pieces. Explosions rock the split pieces of the ship, you flying through them towards your next target. You fly from ship to ship, a single Death Slash cleaving each ship as you charge. You and Meloka both carve your seperate paths of destruction through the sky, destroying warship after warship with ease. In a minute you’ve both reduced the Covenant to a single ship, you each looking to each other. You hold your right palm out, Meloka holding her left to yours. You both quickly charge up your ki, and fire a Couple Energy Wave that obliterates that last ship easily. That problem handled, you both drop back to the arena floor. Once back on solid ground you again focus your awareness, observing the other powerlevels to get a grasp on the situation.

The Tamamraneans are holding their own in space above the Saiyan city, while King Vegeta leads the other Saiyans within the city limits. The Guardian is still under siege as well, you sensing more ships than before surrounding him. You also sense Cooler’s massive ki in space, when suddenly it vanishes. After a few more seconds it reappears, then vanishes again after three-ish seconds. You have no idea what’s going on up there. Closer to you, you can sense the Covenant are landing ground troops in the nearby forest, their forces approaching the arena from two different directions.

What will you do now?

“Vegeta, are you there?” you think out, the young Saiyan King answering immediately.
“Karn? What’s wrong?” he replies, ready for the worst.
“It’s the Guardian, he needs backup.” you tell the king telepathically as you and Meloka sit down to take a breather. “Meloka and I’re here at the arena protecting the wounded with Leyas and his people, at least until Cooler can take care of whatever’s shutting down Raven’s portal magic. But the Guardian’s alone, he probably needs help.”
“I’m on it.” Vegeta tells you then cuts the connection. You sense Bardock and Turles both leave the city after a minute or so, headed towards the Guardian’s position as you both rest. You let the others know where the Covenant forces will be coming from next, and with that done the only thing left to do is the waiting. You sit down on the arena floor, cross your legs in the meditative pose, and breathe.

You focus on the meditative breathing the Guardian had taught you: long, deep breaths that fill your lungs to capacity, then exhale and empty your lungs. In and out, in and out, in and out, you empty your mind and focus entirely on your breathing. You lose track of time and even yourself, your focus entirely on your breathing. You feel your strength returning with each breath, your body beginning to recover from the day’s exertions. But you don’t get long, Leyas’s roar snapping you out of your meditative trance. Opening your eyes, you rise to your feet feeling refreshed. You take to the air and look around, seeing the Covenant forces approaching from the predicted routes. You look around, deciding which side to defend first when your instincts warn you that you’re in danger. Looking up, you have only a moment, seeing a red light before everything disappears. Several Covenant warships’ cannons blast the arena from space, you taking one of the blastz directly before you could defend yourself or throw up a barrier.

While the blast catches you by surprise, it doesn’t mean you can’t defend yourself! With a moment’s focus you grab onto the blast and gather your ki into your palms. With a shout you blast a Dual Energy Wave into the Covenant warship’s blast, pushing it up and off of you. You don’t even try to overpower the attack, just push back enough to keep from being hit. After a few more rough seconds it ends, you ending your attack as well and looking around. The orbital blasts had caught everyone else off-guard as well, downing many of those who were still able to fight. But you sense that something’s wrong. Feeling around with your ki sense, you finally notice what’s wrong. Your jaw clenches shut as you realize most of those that were already injured were killed off by those blasts.

“Dammit!” you snarl through clenched teeth, flaring your Super Saiyan aura back up and taking to the air, high enough to make the biggest target of yourself. You throw caution to the winds, gathering a massive amount of your ki into your palms. With a roar you toss the left hand’s energy at one of the approaching Covenant ground force armies, the sphere exploding into a wide-range Scattershot. You don’t even watch the explosions, turning to the other approaching army and blasting them to hell as well. With the two approaching armies swiftly handled, you turn your attention skyward. You gather your ki into your palms, readying for vengeance against the warships, when suddenly you sense something. Something massive, something powerful. And it’s headed right for you!

“EVERYONE GET DO-!!” you shout, but your warning came far too late. The absolute power you’d sensed above you comes crashing down to New Salda’s surface, smashing through the overhead warships as if they weren’t even there then crashing to the center of the arena. The impact from that insane power kicks up a shockwave stronger than any you’d yet felt, it nearly knocking you from the air. After you reorient yourself, you look down into the now dust-filled arena. You take notice that it didn’t hit any of the Saiyans inside, as if purposefully avoiding them. What could this be?

“Greetings, Saiyans. General Karn.” a regal voice calls out, sending chills up your spine as the smoke continues to thin. The cadence is familiar, but you can’t quite place it. “It seems that your home has a rather unsightly pest infestation.”
”Who’re you?” Leyas call out, you seeing a familiar-looking silhouette. But this power doesn’t match Freeza’s third form at all, and Cooler’s still in orbit as well. Wait. Is this....?
“Forgive me, I forgot to introduce myself in this form.” the voice says as the smoke finally clears and you see the speaker for the first time in years. “I am King Cold, and I myself have come to aid my vassals in their ultimate battle.”

You’re left speechless by his declaration. Sure you knew that King Cold was powerful and could transform as well, but this power you’re feeling now is insane. And with one more form beyond this, there’s no way you can lose! You feel a surge of hope rising up through your chest, you all can really win! You can do this! You float down before the true King, offering your hand to King Cold.

“It is good to see you here, your highness.” you say. King Cold smirks at that, grabbing you by the wrist. You feel him seemingly barely apply pressure, your arm feeling on the verge of snapping. He releases you after a moment, you seeing a look on his face you’ve never seen. He seems... excited?
“I’ve been looking forward to this, Karn.” he says, then flares his dark blue aura up around himself. His aura knocks you flat on your back, your eyes widening in surprise as his power climbs higher and higher. “Once again, the universe shall tremble in terror at the name of King Cold!”
