He already knows about Mari’s Fevine, we can show it and the egg to him in the morning. Also, you don’t have to draw this Glacier, but just wondering, among the other Pokémon Aspen has recovered, are there any, er, relevant to us? Like a Rhyhorn or Skruppy or Kreep? Or are they all Pokémon we don’t recognize?

IIRC we told him there were two Fevines and he told us to bring in Mari's for a closer look

Also poor Fevine, but at least he's not dead in a ditch somewhere! Makes me wonder if carried on following Fevine 2.0, would we have landed us smack in the middle of the rampaging pokemon?

It seems likely, going off the claw marks. Glad we decided to follow Rosie’s call for help instead, in hindsight. Getting a new friend and a new Pokémon seems preferable to getting our ass kicked by Wrathour and a bunch of other high level Pokémon. Though then again, doing so might have prevented us from helping Fevine and stopping him from falling into this coma thing, which would be a shame.
>>
>>2749665
It seems that the moment Fevine had the crown thing on he was doomed, so if we followed Fevine 2.0 we might have been too late to do much AND left Rosie high and dry to boot.

All we can do now is try to cure him.
>>
>>2749792
How should we go about doing that, anyways? Aspen doesn’t seem like he has any leads right now, and we’re going to have to leave Claribar soonish, if we want to try and get Rosie and the egg to Frostshrine Town in time, so we’ve got maybe a day or two, optimistically? I guess we could look around the scene of the attack, but I’d assume that whatever passes for a police force in Maho probably has the area on lockdown already, and probably won’t admit any visitors, so that seems like that might be a bust as well. Maybe ask Aspen if he can get us in so we can take a look around? Not really any other leads to go off of, otherwise. That shady dude in Honeydrop’s probably skipped town by now, and in character we wouldn’t have a reason to suspect him anyways. Maybe ask Seb and our resident forest hobo friend if they noticed anything weird in the woods today? Or just wander around the forest and see if we can stumble on a secret villain base through sheer dumb protagonist luck.
>>
>>2749944
We might run into the Evil Team somewhere on our way to Frostshrine - don't we need to pass by Honeydrop anyway?

Or we could explain to Rosie what's up and ask for some time to look around the scene before we set off - maybe backtrack to where we were when we found her? Plans do change, and it's not like she got a signed contract from Cole (plus she seems the type not to just leave a suffering pokemon alone).

But at the end of the day it's all up to Glacier.
>>
>>2749968
Well yeah, we need to pass through Honeydrop to challenge Hannally, at the very least. We could probably take a detour, see if Liquid Fevine can pick up a scent again by those claw marks in the tree. Might lead to some clues, if nothing else. What time of day is it now, anyways? Evening? Or do we still have some time in the afternoon to go about and do a bit more stuff? We could maybe chat up some more people who were at the attack in the Pokecenter, if we have time. There was an option to ask if the people we interviewed noticed anything irregular during the attack that we didn’t explore, which might give us a hint.

>What time of day is it now, anyways?
It's night anon. The girls went to find a place to stay for the night while we wrap up our business. We agreed to meet them there when we're done
>>
>>2750047
Damn, guess we’ll need to wait for the morning to get started on all that then.
>>
>>2750050
Not if people decide to run into the forest at night like retards again
>>
>>2750068
Haha, uh, no idea what you mean anon. Er, no idea why anybody would consider doing something that stupid again. Jokes aside though, the forest should be relatively safe now, even at night. This tiara incident seems to have taken all of the strong Pokémon in the forest out of commission or at the very least severely injured them, if the people we spoke with are to be believed, so I think a trip into the woods would be more or less risk free, if we did it now. And I want to check on that Kreep. Wrathour’s either been critically injured or taken down, so I imagine it’s in rather dire straights considering how skittish it was.
>>
>>2750356
Or tiara'd.

Anyway, whatever's happening, *someone* or *something* must be behind it, and that much should occur to Cole. Could be a person, could be a pokemon, could be one of those Cryptics. That doesn't matter. The only thing that matters now is that if we're gonna deal with it, we're gonna need a team that can fight.

We need to do our trainer thing. Catch pokemon and train 'em. Also, we need to get Cubcoal in a fight. Chiwip, I love you, but you've been hogging the spotlight.

Luckily, our team so far has pretty good coverage, so we can afford to be a little bit choosy now.

Trying to catch a Kreep is definitely risky, but it might be worth it.
>>
>>2751073
Kreep would round out the type coverage of our first four Pokémon pretty nicely, yeah. We’d have Ghost, Grass, Fire, Ground, Electric, Flying, and Water. After Kreep we should probably take picking the last two Pokémon for our team pretty slowly, though. Four is more then enough to cover us for most of our journey I’d imagine, especially with the fairly good type coverage they’ve got between them, so we can afford to be picky and only get the Pokémon we really like.
>>
>>2751156
>so we can afford to be picky and only get the Pokémon we really like.
We were gonna do that regardless anon
>>
>>2751207
I kind of figured, but to be fair we’ve been picking out Pokémon pretty quickly, up until this point. If we catch Kreep then that’s three Pokémon we’ve caught in about a day and a half, not counting Cubcoal.

Hm, I’m rather curious about what Cain was up to in the area before this incident. The attack only happened a few hours ago, so even with a flying Pokémon I doubt he could have gotten here quickly from anywhere but Honeydrop, which assumedly means he was in the area on some other business. Visiting Aspen about something maybe? The two seem to be on fairly familiar terms with each other.

May as well ask.
>>

Hm, curious that they don’t think they’re man-made. Probably doesn’t completely eliminate the possibility of some sort of evil team or another, since they might be goading a Pokémon into doing this, or making use of some technology Aspen and Sequoia aren’t aware of, but it certainly lowers the possibility of human involvement. Doesn’t sound like the MO of any of the Cryptics we’ve heard of thus far though. Some sort of legendary then?

We’re definitely going to need to get ourselves a flag for that expressed purpose. Think we should see if we can bring Seb along if we run into him? He did say he was looking for the Cryptic that supposedly appears on Whisper Peak, Maluana or whatever it was called. I think it resembled a moth?
>>
>>2755349
We totally should, I could always go for some more Seb. We should also try to reunite with Jess soon don't know why she would want to come though
>>
>>2755399
I'd really like to catch up with Jess. I get the feeling she's still pretty pissed at us though and might get more miffed that we seemingly just replaced her with more girls.

Should be fun to see.
>>
>>2755419
I wonder where she is right now. I assume the morning after we sepreated she went right back to her forest hobo ways. But that would put her right in the middle of that whole fiasco. We should try to see if she made it out ok, I hope nothing happened to her...
>>
>>2756105
I’d assume she’s still hanging around the lodge, like she was when we first met, so she probably was well out of the way of the stampede when it happened, since that took place near Claribar.
>>
>>2754951
But how is her smug look, bro?
>>
>>2756178
Wasn't she just sleeping there for the night? She usually hangs out in the forest all day like the hobo she is
>>
>>2756382
I figured that she wandered the woods during the day, but went back to the Way Station at night. She seemed to want to avoid going out at night with us, anyways.
>>
>>2756506
? Yeah I agree with the fact that she's in the forest during the day and the lodge at night but the attack happened during the day. We know this because when Mari tried to call the police they were too preoccupied with stuff to come and help. It's implied that they were too busy dealing with the attack
>>
>>2756593
Well I mean the attack happened in town or extremely close, right? Otherwise there wouldn’t have been so many injuries. So if she was in the forest she probably didn’t get caught up in it. If she did, I’d assume we’d have noticed her in the Pokémon Center, or Aspen would have told us when we went to visit him. She’s his sister after all.
>>
>>2756742
I mean if all those pokemon were in the wild it stands to reason they were from the forest (Fevine supports this) meaning she was right there when it started

It's also possible that her injuries weren't severe enough to warrant a hospital trip or that Aspen didn't feel like ruining the mood by talking about it

Aiming high is one thing, but please for the love of god let's stop trying to get ourselves killed, the thing with the Wrathour should've been a good life experience. Whatever we might need to get to the top I'm sure we don't have the funds for it.

Look I'm not saying I don't trust the thread but so far there's been a bad precedent on judgement.
>>
>>2770671
We’ve got to plant that Cubcoal flag at the peak anon, all will not be right with the world otherwise. And we’ll probably have plenty more funds, by the time we arrive in Frostshrine. And seeing that Cryptic that apparently shows up at the top would be pretty cool. And if we drag Seb along for this the only reason he’ll come is to try and find the Cryptic at the peak.
>>2770683
Eh, they look enough like them to me personally. I mean, I imagined Rosie to be somewhat shorter based on what we’d seen so far, but maybe they’re older here, who knows.

Honestly the only not so great choices I can think of that we’ve made so far were going out into the woods the second time (Which kind of ended up working out for us anyways) and trying to feed the Wrathour a Pokesnack, and I think that one was most of us voting for a joke option we didn’t expect to see succeed.

Should see if we can nab Maluana as well, while we're at it. Don't know if we'd add it to our team permanently, but it'd certainly be a good way to prove that it exists. These two seem like they'd need Ultra Balls for a successful capture though, so I don't know if we'll be able to afford those on top of the mountain climbing gear we'll probably need.
>>
>>2771180
Since we're going by anime rules instead of games rules I'm not even sure if an ultra ball might even be enough. regardless we're gonna need a REALLY good team for it.
>>
>>2771316
Well I mean neither are actual legendaries, so an ultra ball should theoretically do the job, but yeah, we’d be in for a tough fight and capture attempt regardless I imagine. Attacking and capturing a Pokémon that’s practically revered by the people nearby probably wouldn’t earn us any brownie points with them, in any case, so it may not be worth the effort. It’s kind of curious that there’s two extremely elusive, semi-mythical Pokémon living in the same area though, on the same mountain even. I wonder if they’re related, or maybe even the same Pokémon? Accounts of both seem to come from semi-delirious hikers and mountain climbers, probably suffering from severe oxygen deprivation. Think they’re the same Pokémon viewed by different people? Granted, there may be more concrete proof of Serafrost we’re not aware of, but it’s rather odd whatever the case.
>>
>>2771180
>>2771316
I'm not so keen on catching it, it's important to the history if the town so it would kinda seem disrespectful if we selfishly caught it unless it wanted to come with us. I still wanna see it though I'd be happy if we could take a picture and write the very first dex entry, that's my goal for all of the cryptids

But were catching the shit out of that pseudo legendary if it's the last thing I do
>>
>>2771349
>>2771354
I think Serafrost and Maluan are in different levels honestly, primarily do to the fact that Serafrost is confirmed to exists and is even considered a Pseudo Legendary whereas all the other Criptyd pokemons are more like this regions versions of Legendaries which means that even if we don't have much info on them they ARE probably a cut or two above every other pokemon in the region.
>>
>>2771354
That's a cool idea for a quest, just being a researcher in a new region and just observing pokemon to write their pokedex entries.
>>
>>2771354
Woops I confused Maluan and Serafrost. I don't know why but I thought Maluan was the one who was important to the history. Since there's probably more than one Serafrost I don't mind catching it unlike Malian who I assume there's only one of or at least a small amount

>>2771364
>if we don't have much info on them they ARE probably a cut or two above every other pokemon in the region
That'll make it all the more worth while if we manage to get one. I'd be pretty disappointed if we went through all that trouble but it was just normal mon

>>2771365
I mean we can do that here. Somebody's got to make those Crytid entires
>>
>>2771364
Do they have definitive proof? It sounds like a bunch of accounts by delirious hikers who have encountered it, and that it’s supposedly found near the top of the mountain but with no definite confirmation. Unless there’s solid proof that Mari left out.

>>2771354
Sounds like they’d be angrier about us attacking and capturing a Serafrost then they would Maluana. Serafrost is the one they semi-revere after all, and Maluana is just a Cryptic.
>>
>>2771387
>>2771396
Whoops, just noticed you corrected yourself, sorry about that. But yeah, it sounds like if we tried to capture either we’d be in for a tough fight, even with high level Pokémon, so it might be a little outside of our abilities on our first visit to Frostshrine. Maybe we can come back later, once we’ve gotten stronger. Would be a pretty fun victory lap actually. We encounter all the Cryptics on our journey throughout Maho, then once we beat the League (If we beat the League) we come back through with our stronger Pokémon, capture them, and actually prove their existence to the world.
>>
>>2771396
I assume there's more than 1 Serafrost cause it's a pseudo so it won't be the end of the world. Even if there was I'd still want to catch it. It might sound selfish and kind of a jerk thing to do but I really want a pseudo and I'm willing to climb a mountain and go through hell for it. The fact that there's only one would make me want to catch it more desu. I'd feel a little bad but the prestige of having the only one of these things would be worth it
>>
>>2771410
I was mostly talking about catching a younger pre-evo and training it up properly from there. I rather not scale a mountain just to leave and come back to scale it again
>>
>>2771435
Does Serafrost evolve though? I mean, it may just start out as a Serafrost.
>>
>>2771465
All pseudo legendaries are a 3 stage evolution line so I don't know why you'd assume this guy is a 1 stage
>>
>>2770439
>>"We're going all the way to the top."
Realistically speaking we're not gonna make it all the way there, but aim for the stars and hit the moon and all.

Also before we head out we should phone Seb and get the lowdown on the Cryptic pokemon that's supposed to be at the top. We're going into it's stomping grounds after all.
>>
>>2771465
True. Probably going to be hard to find though. I guess we'll have to ask people when we arrive in Frostshrine. Maybe the professor would know what they look like? We can probably ask him in the morning. It looks like it'd fit with our team comp at least, assuming it's ice and, eh, maybe fairy?

>>2771499
We ought to bring him along with us, if he feels like coming.
>>
>>2771567
Whoops, linked it wrong, meant to link it to
>>2771474
First.
>>
>>2771387
I don't think some random kid can submit official pokedex entries, maybe we could record some observations and send them to the prof though.
>>
>>2771499
>>2771567
We have his number so we can call him once we get back to honeydrop, he might be reluctant to come but considering trainers are rare in Maho a chance to climb a mountain in a group of trainers doesn't come everyday so he'll probably take it even if its out of desperation

My big concern is convincing Jess...

>>2771589
Aspen will obviously be our connection, he seems to trust us, his words and Cubcoal are proof of that
>>
>>2771615
Well I mean if we show her we have a bunch of other fairly reasonable people along for the ride, she may think they'll balance out our idiocy, so we might be able to get her to come along. As far as Seb goes, he doesn't seem to be making much progress with Wyndalore, and Maluana is the other Cryptic on his list, so chances are decent he'll come along. (It occurred to me a while ago that following Fevine after we encountered those big ass claw marks in that tree might have led to Wyndalore, but it's a little late to follow up on that lead, I guess.)

Maybe. I'm just worried that she might see that we replaced her with 2 cute girls the next day and think we're just some playboy (not wrong but still) like that one anon suggested. That would be bad (and admittedly funny)

>It occurred to me a while ago that following Fevine after we encountered those big ass claw marks in that tree might have led to Wyndalore, but it's a little late to follow up on that lead, I guess
I doubt it would've actually lead to Wyndalore. There's plenty of pokemon that could've created the mark and it'd be kinda weird if we found him here. It's still early and I doubt it's here of all places. It was pretty easy for us to find it, I know the forest is decently big but I highly doubt that it would still be a cryptid if it was in there. Never-seen forest is much more likely. And it's not too late to find the mark. We still have Fevine with us and we have to go through the forest anyway so we can still try to retrace our steps and look for it, it'll be hard but it's worth a shot
>>
>>2771848
True, but I was more concerned about the scent that he was following being gone by the time we relocate it, or whatever he was following the scent of being long gone. And yeah, Never-seen is more likely, just figured that it might have been interesting to follow up on. And I don't think Jess'd be too bothered, if we explain the circumstances behind our meetings with them (I mean she'd probably be on the high ground for insufferably long after she learned we passed out in the woods after we wandered into them again, but oh well, sacrifices must be made.), she might even be more likely to come with us if she learned why we were travelling with Rosie, she seems like a pretty nice person, gruffness aside.
>>
>>2771848
>we replaced her with 2 cute girls
bitches and hoes, bitches and hoes
>>
>>2771912
>True, but I was more concerned about the scent that he was following being gone by the time we relocate it, or whatever he was following the scent of being long gone
It should be fine. It takes a little bit for smell to completely fade, the biggest concern is another scent blocking out the old one. But the single claw mark on a tree is usually an indication of territory, something like "if you enter this ares you'll end up like this tree", so whatever it is might not be on the move and there might be even more marked trees. My money's on it being a Wrathor. It makes sense and it'll give us a chance to find that Kreep from earlier and hopefully add it to the team

>And I don't think Jess'd be too bothered, if we explain the circumstances behind our meetings with them
I know she won't be lastingly mad at us but it still doesn't look good, especially if she was worried that we might've died in the forest but it turns out we we're just hanging out with some random chicks
>>
>>2772254

Hm, it does seem possible that it was a territorial marker, though I would have thought Fevine would be more cautious around one and avoided just following the scent of whatever left it. It being the work of a Wrathour seems possible as well, though I'd have thought a Rhino type Pokemon would use it's horn, rather then it's claws. It's also possible that it was that giant red eyed wolf that supposedly participated in the attack, or some other Pokemon we're not aware of in the region. A tad concerned that we won't have much of a chance to find Kreep at this point however. They seem to be solely nocturnal, like Wrathour, and since going out into the woods tonight doesn't seem like it's going to be an option they way things are going, I don't think we'll be in the area long enough to take a crack at finding it, assuming we're departing for Frostshrine tomorrow. I guess we might have an opportunity if we stay the night in Honeydrop, and don't just take a pit stop for our battle with Hannally and to get ourselves supplies for the trip.

>I know she won't be lastingly mad at us but it still doesn't look good, especially if she was worried that we might've died in the forest but it turns out we we're just hanging out with some random chicks.
I imagine Aspen would have let her know earlier, after he found out we weren't dead in the woods somewhere, so that hopefully won't be an issue.
>>
>>2772347
[Just a quick note, Froshrine is a fairly decent ways away. It'll be a good several days before you get to Froshrine so you'll have plenty of chances to bulk up your team and buy supplies on the way.]
>>
>>2772442
Well yeah, but if memory serves unless we take the scenic route, beyond Honeydrop there's no towns or cities until we hit Frostshrine right? Unless there's settlements not marked on the map along the way.
>>
>>2772450
[Ebindale and Riverglade branch off the main road so it's an option to go there, but yes there are small settlements and buildings that line the roads that aren't considered 'major towns/cities'. Similar to the games where you'll find random houses in the middle of nowhere.]
>>
>>2772450
That's why we're definently gonna take the scenic route
>>
>>2772347

Fair enough all of your points make it seen less likely but it's still much more likely than Wyndalore

>It's also possible that it was that giant red eyed wolf that supposedly participated in the attack, or some other Pokemon we're not aware of in the region
Good point, that seems entirely possible. The giant pig or the red-eyed wolf are a total mystery right now, hope we get to see them

Well that really depends how wrapped up we get in this whole attack thing. I would like to go offer Aspen some help with this whole thing while we're here. I wanted to go by the lab and challenge (and probably destroyed by) the champion anyway. Between that, reuniting with Jess, and possibly trying to find that claw mark from ealier it's not out of the realm of possibility that it might be night by the time arrive at Honeydrop. It's also possible that whatever caused the attack might be messing with they're normal behavior and habits

>I imagine Aspen would have let her know earlier, after he found out we weren't dead in the woods somewhere, so that hopefully won't be an issue.
She probably knows we're safe now but until we called Aspen she had no possible way of knowing if we died or not. If I was worried for someone's life and then the next time I saw then they were completely fine and replaced me with some cute girls I'd be pretty miffed, at least until I heard the whole story
>>
>>2772617
>Fair enough all of your points make it seen less likely but it's still much more likely than Wyndalore
Yeah, I don't really think it's all that likely that it's Wyndalore at this point, just considering the details around the markings.

>Good point, that seems entirely possible. The giant pig or the red-eyed wolf are a total mystery right now, hope we get to see them
If I had to hazard I guess, I'd assume the wolf is the evolved form of Skruppy. No idea about the pig though.

With any luck we'll get a shot tomorrow if we stick around Honeydrop, though I'd have preferred to just go out tonight, to get it done in advance just in case, and maybe run into Seb again to preemptively invite him along on our trip.

[Alright BIG UPDATE. You guys are absolutely going to hate me but I hope I can win your forgiveness back in time!

Until then I'll begin posting art and stuff on the twitter to tide you guys over until then.
