Welcome to Knightress Quest #2

You are Bonny Francis. A female adventurer within the kingdom of Alaraim. Known for being one of the top adventurers within Alafen's adventurer's guild, you also used to be a knight within the Knight's Order. A organization within Alaraim stemming from its military. The Order branches from aiding and assisting the royal family as the Royal Guard, to being under the service of the church as the Paladins.

Currently your main weapons of choice are a greatshield and gauntlet. Offering exceptional defense but lacking in many other areas deeply.

- Voting and rolling periods are usually 20 min.
- Rolls are mostly 1d100 best of three. Dice may vary depending on situation.
>>
Walking the long road the only thing accompanying this journey is the rattling of the merchant's caravan as it's pulled by the horses.

You and the other party managed to fight back a group of bandits. Suffering only one loss as Gus got injured fighting back.

Presently you're on the last day of escorting a merchant's caravan to Gosmor. The current people accompanying you is the merchant himself and a party consisting of the previously mentioned Gus, who's a warrior. Mirana, a female wizard who's height doesn't match her age. And a nonchalant ranger named Colt.

After the run-in with the bandit group nothing much happened after. All was going smooth throughout today and last night. And steadily you approach the bridge to Gosmor up ahead.

"Thank you for your services adventurers. Without you protecting me, I would've died at the hands of savages," the merchant thanked you.

"No, thank you. Without you patching me up I would've bled to death myself," Gus responded back.

"If you would like you can come with me into Gosmor so you can recover. The adventurer's guild shouldn't be too different from Alafen's," the merchant offered.

"Yes that would be satisfactory. We would take up the offer so Gus can get better. What about you Bonny?" the little wizard questioned you.

"I guess I'll come as well."

"Good, good! Now that's settled let's move, onward over the bridge," the merchant gleefully said as we moved on to Gosmor.

-

Following onward to the bridge you look over to the side. Certainly there were other ways to arrive to Gosmor but this bridge was the quickest. Gosmor created this bridge to make another route to Alaraim so trade could be easier. And when the construction was done it opened up more access for the trading world. Becomng a convenient route to get from Alaraim to Gosmor.

The construction couldn't be done by just man though. Wizards were useful in making this bridge as they used magic to help shape and construct stuff like the supporting pillars. All in all, it's a building written down in the history books to come.

Crossing the bridge, you officially stepped onto gosmian soil as the capital is just ahead of you. Meeting the city's gates the guards check in with the merchant, taking comparably the same time as before back at Alafen. Signalling acess, we finally enter Karsac. The capital of Gosmor.

Giving thanks once more the merchant left to do his own thing in the city leaving you and the rest. Unanimously, you all agree to visit the city's guild. Pushing through the street you pass many things. Vendors selling exotic fruits, dresses displayed in store windows, and weapons haning on the shelves of shops.

Eventually you reach the guild.

Parting ways Mirana and Colt take Gus to get checked out. Saying goodbye as they walk to the medical room.

"Bye Miss Bonny. Hope we see eachother again," Colt waved, Gus leaning against his shoulder.

"Bye Bonny!" Mirana waving as well."Next time I see you I'll be grown up. Just you wait!" And like that they're gone. Leaving to you your own.

-

Looking around the guild there are men and women eyeing you. Most probably because of your appearance. And to your left was a bar, men laughing and drinking telling stories of their adventures.

Our greatshield is somewhat circular. Pic for reference. The gauntlet is uniquely big, and most of the timer we use it for punching hard.
>>
>>2738501
Interesting choice. Maybe shield bashing is in order, or if she's strong enough, crushing someone by swinging the shield and hitting them with the edge.
>>

>>2738503
Previous thread is over at >>2729122.

So far, we've used the shield to crush a tunneling wyrm while it was underground, and thrown it to bludgeon bandits at a distance.

I still like the idea that the reason Bonny doesn't have a proper weapon is because she left it behind when she left her Order as a way of symbolically putting her past behind her.
>>
>>2738509
maybe an equally fuck huge weapon like a great sword or axe can be reserved in the future

Entering the bar you take a seat at the counter. Eyes of other adventurers are noticebly watching you.

"What will it be?" the bartender asks.

"Anythings fine. Maybe meat? Also could you fill this up with water," you say, handling him a canteen.

Taking it, the bartender goes to the back of the kitchen. "It'll be right up lad. And I'll get this filled up to," he says, walking by.

-

Moments pass as the bartender comes back. A cooked fish on a platter. Placing the dish down he gives back your canteen filled with water.

"Here it is lad. Anything else I can get ya?" the man offers.

"No, that'll be all," waving down your hand. "If you can though, could you tell me about Karsac?"

"Well Karsac is just like any other city," the bartender speaks, leaning over the counter. "Nothin' too special in my opinion other than being the capital of Gosmor. The land here in this kingdom is pretty nice here to. Other than that, it's the most I know."

Name: Bonny Francis
A ex-knight of the Knight Order, she left due to dissapointment towards her authorities and a feeling of unbelonging. She is also a daughter of a gosmian noble. Sneaking out of the kingdom of Gosmor to become a knight in the Order. This was made possible due to connections in her family.

General appearance
A tall, muscular female with mid-length blonde hair. Several small scars can be found on her face. Her eyes are sharp, often making her look hard to approach. But this is mostly avoided since she wears a helmet.

Equipment
Old knight armour: Knight armour showing wear of use. Colored in a fading shade of gray.
Greatshield: A greatshield, circular in shape. Battle damage is very visible.
Large gauntlet: A uniquely sized gauntlet often used for punching.
Old knight helmet: Also showing wear of use, it is too colored in a fading shade of gray. A red plume coming from the back of the head.
Satchel: A satchel containing a harvesting knife and a canteen.
>>
"Could I ask about the beast and monsters. What are they like here?"

"Well...there's the staple orcs and goblins but you already know that. Some of the demon lord's troops are also said to be here too. The military reported some skirmishes at Wilicar Forest which is not far from here so that's something to look out for. Also golems."

"Thanks for the information," you say, biting pieces of the fish.

"Hehe! It's nothin'. It's something you need to know when you're working at the guild. You see many come and go," the bartender laughed.

-

Finishing the fish you thanked the bartender again. Getting up from your seat you put your helmet back on. Walking back into the main guild hall.

A boy came up to you. Black hair along and refined facial features, he wore a suit of armour. Smirking at you, he grasps his scabbard.

"Hey lady!" He exclaimed. "Fight me, I heard that you come from Alaraim. And I have you know that I'm one of the top adveturers here. I don't take lightly to people who think you can waltz in the guild just like this," he said arrogantly.

>"I concede. You win."
There's nothing to be gained by fighting this man. Even his provocations are of poor quality.
>>
>>2738558
This. I wanna do other stuff, like but a traveling pack and maybe kill some beasts for coin. It's both noble and profitable. Kind of like being a farmer.
>>
>>2738551
So this is my observation

>A boy came up to you.
Already a sign why he shouldn't be here or talking to us.

>Black hair along and refined facial features, he wore a suit of armour.
Do you mean along or a long, like horse faced or has long black hair? Whatever the case I'll assume he's got long hair with no blemishes on his face. Also gonna assume the armor is near spotless. He's probably as green as they get.

>Smirking at you, he grasps his scabbard.
I kind of hope he's just a talented dick and not a barking Chihuahua.

>And I have you know that I'm one of the top adventurers here.
I know he's just boasting, but I really hope this is not true.
>>
>>2738563
I hope you realize that brushing him off so curtly is only going to aggravate him.

But given how Bonny left her Order due in part to her superiors' incompetence, I don't imagine her to have any patience for his type.
>>
>>2738573
Aggravate him to the point of lashing out? I'm kind of hoping for that. Would give us a reason to bonk him on the head and tell him to piss off. Maybe go so far as snap his blade in two to drive the point further.
If Bonny wasn't part of nobility or an ex-knight, I would have suggested beating him up and taking him valuables, that being his sword, armor and any other valuable possessions. Is that fucked up? It most certainly is, but I like to believe it's a humbling experience the kid could learn from for our own benefits. I know this option wouldn't be considered or supported but I just wanted to get it out there.
>>
"I concede boy, you win," saying in a defeated manner. You walk past him to the quest board. browsing the posters.

'Did she really do that?', 'No way she's fucking crazy!', 'Shut up! We don't want him beating you up!'. Comments float around the hall. Either whispering that you're crazy, stupid, or both.

"You dare turn your back to me! I am the noble Caim Vitrilia! The person who slew beasts of great names!" the boy, er, Caim yelled at you. "Wyverns, golems, chimeras, all slain in my name. You will not act like that to me in my presence!"

Looking towards another adventurer you ask if he's lying or not. "Nope he ain't lying. The boys a dick but he's powerful."

Unsheathing his sword he brandishes out for everyone to see. It was a pure red blade and from what it looks from it, it can slice good. Dashing towards you he seeks to strike your back. He does see the greatshield on you right?

I wanted to take his weapon away to make a point. That if you can't wield a weapon responsibly, you shouldn't get to carry one at all. This coming from the woman who I imagine as having left hers behind.

I mean, was he really going to run through an enemy who wasn't fighting back, whose back was turned, who had conceded?

Turning over, you face him. Dashing with his red sword ready to thrust. And with a swift motion you parry his charge with your gauntlet.

Disrupting Caim's movement, your parry forced his thrust to the right side. Leaving him open. Quickly he readies another strike, this time trying to swing at your waist.

In reaction you successfully parried him again. The strike's momentum tripping Caim. And right in the process of falling you punch him square in the back. Slamming him into the floor.

Observing the other adventurers, they held mixed expressions. Others cheering out your victory, others displaying a look in horror.

'Holy shit she fucking pummeled him', 'THE Caim lost?!', 'WOO SHOWS YOU RIGHT DOUCHEBAG!', 'Pray for her, she's going to get arrested.'

The hall exploded into a roar. Adventurers alike assessing your '"fight". The same man you talked to tapped your shoulder. Getting your attention, he tells you something.

"Your in a big bag of trouble missy. He's still a noble and anytime now you'd most likely get arrested," he warned. "Good job in teaching him though. The guy too powerful for anyone else, so either the other top-tier adventurers have to intervene or we all keeps our mouth shut and do as he says."

Awe shucks, are we really in trouble? He challenged us to a fight and won, even after declining and he rushed us. That's gotta mean something.

Sure is Dark Souls in here.
>>
>>2738619
At this point, we might to better not to confiscate the sword, if only so that they have less material to bullshit up charges when they come to arrest us.

Also, parrying the fuck out of him for a second time when he gets back up would be terribly satisfying.
>>
>>2738629
good point, but what if we jam his sword into the ground outside so he has a hard time retrieving it?
>>
"He striked first. I said that I conceded right?"

"Yeah you did. We can testify your defense, it's just gonna be hard to do it against nobles," the man tells you."You'll still get arrested since you still striked back. You knocked him out cold."

"So that means I can get out if they verify self-defense?" Questioning further.

"Yeah that's usually how it goes. But the things is," leaning closer to you." Some nobles have a lot of influence here, including the Vitrilia family. They'd do things to have their record clean ya know," cryptically saying, leaning back into his seat.

"What's the red sword? Is it special?" pointing at Caim's hand.

"That's the Vitrilia heirloom. If you think of taking it'll give a reason to imprison ya," he answered.

Turning around once again you resume browsing the quest board, your head blank due to this sudden development. You try hard to ignore the rowdiness of the crowd behind you.

Looks like troubles coming big time when you come back from a quest...

>Golem slaying: Golems are spotted near Reilar Lake. We request extermination.
>Bear hunting: Need someone to hunt a bear. Need one for materials.
>Skeleton Commotion: Skeletons has recently spawned in Wilicar Forest. Request extermination.
>>
>>2738631
The very act of taking his sword would basically mean that he's likely to have us arrested on charges of theft.

I did previously suggest disarming him as a means of winning the fight and teaching him a lesson, but we're clearly past that point right now.

As it is, I imagine the constabulary entering through the front door in a few minutes:
>"Stop! You're under arrest!"

>"Under what charges, officer?"

>"Under the charge of assaulting a noble."

>"Assault? He challenged me to a duel, and won. Or are you saying that the Caim Vitrilia somehow managed to lose a swordfight against an unarmed woman?"

>"Clearly you used some trickery to gain an underhanded advantage!"

>"Ah. So you're saying I pulled some trick that allowed me and my loud and bulky armor to launch a quick and unexpected strike that overcame his well-honed reflexes. I see. I had no idea your opinion of his combat skills was so low."
>>
>>2738635
Oh, well, if we're heading out before the fuzz arrives:
>Golem slaying: Golems are spotted near Reilar Lake. We request extermination.
>>
Taking the poster you choose to go golem slaying. Showing it to the front desk of the hall you verify it from the receptionist. Making your way out of the guild, whispers coming from behind you.

-

Arriving at Reilar Lake you stare off into the water. It's abnormally clear. So clear that you can see the bottom of the lake itself.

Strolling by the river you search for the golems causing trouble. Golems are often monsters made of a "heart" which gives life to it. Said heart can be made naturally or aritificially with magic. Often made of stone, golems vary from place to place. To sand, soil, to even dead flesh.

Walking by the water you notice a cluster of rocks nestled by a tree.

>>
>>2738686
Sorry, river bank. Not suggesting we go in the water.
>>
Grabbing a decently sized stone from the lake you chuck it at the rocks.

Sure enough they start groaning. Pulling itself together, the rocks pile upon eachother forming a golem. A amalgamation of stone crudely forming a humanoid shape, it glows blue between its crags showing that it's much alive.

Groaning again it heaves its arms, intending to pound you into the ground.

Dodging the golem, its arms crash down. Leaving a huge imprint in the ground.

Holding up your greatshield you take your stance. Scanning the body for any potential spots to where the heart is.

Sluggishly the golem lifts its arms back up. Grunting as it moves closer.

Making a run for it, you dash to its back.

moving its only semblance of a head the golem groans as it raises a arm, attempting to crush you again.

In reaction you raise your greatshield in a hurry, giving you poor footing as you don't have time to prepare.

Crashing against you, steel meets stone. The golem's arm pushing you away with great force.
Recovering from the shock you pick yourself up as the dust clears, your left hand noticeably light. Looking down you see your shield. Cracked into pieces, only the portion holstered to your hand still attached.

Groaning the golem heaved its arm once more, the mass of stone coming to your side. With all your strength you punched it back with your gauntlet. Blowing a huge piece of rock off its right arm.

Deciding to assault the chest, you run up while it's still exposed. Coming up close you put all your weight into your fist. Chaining one punch to another.

Pounding at the chest a small glimmer of blue light leaks through the cracks as the golem moans. Pressing on you continue battering the monster until a cavity is made, showing a mass of blue.

The heart finally open you cock your gauntlet as far as you can. Striking it directly as the mass shatters.

With one final moan the golem cease its movement. The glow fading from its body. Rocks falling apart as the golem defeated.

Lifting yourself down from the golem you come back to the pieces of your greatshield, scattered beside the lake. Unholstering the last piece from your arm you toss it away.

-

Walking back to Karsac you enter the city. Opening the doors of the guild you come to the receptionist's desk, handing her the poster to verify that you completed it.

Looking back, Caim wasn't there. It seems that he left while you were gone.

"That'll be 5 gold miss," the receptionist said, handing you your reward. Pocketing the gold into your satchel you leave the desk. It feels abnormal as the weight from your greatshield isn't present.

Entering the guild hall, a man steps in. Wearing a sash and a red uniform, he is adorned with a line of small badges on his chest.

"Is there a female knight wearing a worn out suit of gray armour here?" the man announces. "We are here to arrest her on the charge of intentionally injuring a noble."

The hall goes up in whispers, heads turning towards you per the man's request.

Following the gaze of the adventurers he looks straight into your eye. Couching he starts to speak again, "I am William Sphalt. A officer and interrogator of the kingdom's court. I presume you are the person in question, no?"

"You'll be taken to a cell for questioning," William answers. "It'll be for a couple days until everything gets straighten out. Then we'll see if you should be sentenced are not."

"If that's just it then I'll comply," you agree.

"Great. Please put these on as this is proper procedure," William says, taking out a pair of cuffs.

"Do I have to wear that William?" you questioned.

"Yes Miss. Please hold out your arms," he said, approaching you. To his request you hold up your arms to him, William cuffing your wrist. "With all that settled follow me. I must thank your cooperation," leading you out of the guild.

Walking through Karsac you follow William to a prison. "This is where you are going. Some knights and soldiers may come by as it's next to a military barrack."

Entering the building, William checks in with the guards, show the badge on his chest. With a salute the guards give him access, bringing both of you in.

Through the hall, you pass by many cell doors. Most of which are empty and unnotable. Opening one of the doors with a key, a guard pushes you into a cell.

"I'll be back, I just need to make a report okay?" William assured before walking back. "It'll be just three nights."

-

Later another man came to your cell along with guards of his own. Opening the door, he commands the guards to take you. Getting out of the cell a guard grasp your arms, restricting your movement.

Forced to follow, you enter a room. Nothing but a small barred window and a table with two seats. Unhandling you the guard says to take a seat. To his command you do, along with the man.

"I am Charles Raimer. Like William I am a officer and interrogator of the court. While William finishes reporting, I'll be the one asking you questions," Charles introduces himself. "First off, what's your name?"

"When the court started investigating we found something interesting as well. A relationship between them, and Alaraim's Knight Order. Upon searching further, it was found that 'your' family has been colluding with the neighboring kingdom in a attempt to stage a coup."

"...And so?" you nervously asks.

It was shown to have the signatures from of what I'm guessing, your 'father' and officials from Alaraim. Of course said officials denied by all means, but your father on the other hand admitted," Charles smiled. "And upon the jurisdiction of the court, all members of the family were sentenced to be hanged on the basis of treason. But 'you' couldn't be related to them...would you?" mocking you.

Silence fills the interrogation room, the atmosphere becoming heavy. You stare Charles dead in the eye with all the malice you can muster.

"Oh don't look at me like that Madam Francis," Charles grinned. "I very well know what you're feeling, but if you intend to harm me then it won't be Caim you need to worry about."

"Did that pansy of a noble put you up to this?" you say in a irritated tone.

"I guess you could say that. The Vitrilia payed quite a sum to take care of you," smiling even more in a sadistic demeanor. "And I'm afraid our buddy William can't help. You see, I'm very influential here in Gosmor. Through certain connections, I just stamped your ticket to the gallows."

"The hell! You can't do that!" Yelling at the interrogator. "What do you mean William can't help?!"

"Now, now Madam Francis. William is quite a competitor against me. I just want you to understand that the Vitrilias gave me an opportunity in eliminating him while doing the job they gave me," saying as he waves his hand down. "It's a good thing that both of you stayed in this prison."

Striking a nerve you rattle your cuffs, seeming unable to break under your strength.

"Ah, ah, ah, all officers are supplied with handcuffs imbued with magic. How unfortunate so," Charles said in a childish tone.

"Blondy fucker! Just you wait!"

"I'm afraid I can't Madame, our time has ended long enough. Guards, take her back to her cell please," Charles commanded, the soldiers restraining you by the arms again.

Re-walking back to your cell you shuffle about in attempts to break free.

"Calm down bitch," the guard spat out, as he threw you back behind the barred door.

-

Crickets chirp as the night passes on. You sit in the cell's corner awaiting the time to be hanged. Remembering the sadistic smile of Charles it feels you with hate. Wishing you could've battered the man. Pound him into the dust and see his gentlemanly attitude crumble. "Damn that fucker," you say under your breath.

In a glance, you notice a cat beastkin by your cell door looking back at you a key in her hands.

"...I only hope you are to be my liberator. Could you free me?" You request. "I may pat your head in reward."

"Funny joke. But don't worry about it," the demi-human answered, opening the door's lock. Walking inside she crouches down to look at your cuffs, feeling around your wrist. "Magic is such a pain to break, hear you go."

Breaking open the handcuffs she tosses them to the side, pulling you up. "Thanks for the help," you say to her, following out of the cell.

"It's okay, nothing big. Everything should be fine since my men cleaned up the guards," pointing her thumb behind her. "We gotta go still, someone might send more people if they see something suspicious," pulling you by the hand she leads you to the back of the building; a gaping hole within the wall.

Stepping through you both exit the prison. Running away as fast as possible.

"Man, humans are are too easy to infiltrate. Anything but the heroes is a piece of cake!" she exclaimed. "C'mon and follow me, my soldiers made a path out of here."

Running through alleys and streets you take a path towards the city gate. The same one when you first arrive at Karsac. Passing through you see other demi-human standing by, spears in their hands.

Ushering both of you out, all of you move along the bridge. The moonlight glimmering on the sea as you cross.

Rummaging through a bag, the catkin takes out a colored stone. "How did they others do?" she said to what looks like a male demi-human with wolf characteristics.

"Everything gone as planned. They eliminated all guards concerning the prison. They've safely teleported out too," he reports.

"Great! Now that everythings complete this is a mission SUCCESS!" She yells, throwing the stone in front of us. Glowing, the stone dissipated into a purple glow, creating a portal entering a different landscape. "Through here, looks like I saved your skin huh!"

-

Running through the portal, you're no where near the Gosmian Bridge. The portal disappearing behind you in a fading glow.

"Who are you people, why did you save me?"

"Tsk, tsk, you don't know your worth do ya. Well to tell you the truth, we had your eye on you for a looong time," she grinned. "I've taken the job to scout suitable warriors to aid his majesty. And you are the big ticket woman! When intel found out you were in a pinch it was now or never, we made the play to rescue you."

"That answers my second question but still, who are you?"

"Who am I? Well I'll show you!" the catgirl says, striking a pose. "I am Melia! Captain of the covert ops and intel team working for his majesty the demon lord!" she announces.

"The demon lord?! Than that means I'm Kapsha!" you shout.

"Yes, huhu," puffing up her chest. "A carriage should arrive soon to take us to his castle. Don't worry he ain't all that bad. Act normal and you'll do fine!"

"Great..." you groaned. "And I thought finding out my family is dead was the worst thing tonight..."

-

The carriage arriving, Melia and you stepped inside. Shortly after it starts to move again.

"So...anything you want to know 'bout are great country," Melia said in a playful manner.

Clearly 'Kap-sha' is a corruption descended from an ancient term denoting 'pure evil' or 'indescribable rage'. A fitting name for the demon lord's seat of power.
>>
- Kapsha is just the territory/country ruled under the d.lord. Citizens living here vary from demi-humans to demonkind.

-The reason the d.lord is in a war with the neighboring kingdoms is that they keep on taking parts of his land along with general persecution against his citizens and kind.

- Beastkin or demi-humans are comparable to a nomal human. The difference is their beast like qualities and battle prowess.
>>
>>2740104
Thought it would sound funny naming it like that. Plus, I really hate the captcha sometimes.
>>
>>2740107
Alright, now what does Bonny know and don't know in particular concerning these things.
>>
>>2740107
What's the propaganda that the populace are being fed to justify throwing continual resources at this ongoing war against the demon lord (who, apparently, isn't actually all that bad or something)?
>>
>>2740120
Is he even a Demon, or is Demon Lord just a title for the ruler of that country?
>>
>>2740116

- She doesn't know the landscape and wildlife of Kapsha

- Biased towards demons and demi-humans since she has taken apart of the war at one point while she was still a knight.

- Always thought the d.lord was a great monster needed to be slayn.
>>
>>2740059
I think we should start figuring out our plan to escape. Pretend to join but defect at the first opportunity?
>>
>>2740138
What if one part of the offers is that the Demon Lord sends agents out to assassinate the noble's family that got us arrested including the interrogator that is in cahoots with that noble?
>>
>>2740138
I feel like Bonny has too much pride for that sort of trickery. I imagine her just staring down the demon lord after he lays out of offer and asking: "And if I refuse?"

Out of character, I'm quite aware there it's a completely retarded to do in terms of survival. But it fits the image I have of the woman who basically told her superiors to their faces "You're all retarded; I'm out of here", and left without even taking a fucking weapon.

Hopefully the demon lord is someone who respects strength of will and force of personality. But even if he isn't, it should provide for an interesting narrative, assuming OP doesn't just kill Bonny right there.
>>
>>2740147
We'll make a dramatic last stand where we punch everyone we can lay our hands on.
Then we get tossed into the prison after the crap beaten out of us and then sold off to the salt mines.
There we somehow break our bonds mid journey and plan our escape from the country...
>>
>>2740156
If we're talking about dramatic last stands, I would totally be up for challenging the demon lord to a duel to the death for our freedom.

Sure, we're almost certain to lose, but it'd be badass as all fuck and we'd get a better measure of the demon lord by crossing fists with him than we ever would just by talking.
>>
"Tell me about the demon lord Melia. From what it sounds like, it seems contrary to what I've heard."

"Ah just say King Drogger," Melia corrects you. "It's all lies. You humans have ways to 'demonize' our people you know. Ever since King Drogger declared war to the surrounding kingdoms to regain his land. The Church of Light has been acting out like crazy over your borders. Preaching how much of a great evil he is along with propaganda created by your countries. Bullshit I tell you, all of it," she says in a annoyed manner, twitching her ear. "I can tell you that he's been working himself to death at the castle. Our king ain't a monster. You humans are."

"Why were you keeping eyes on me?" you ask your next question.

"We needed more power in our military. As shameful as it is, we need helping hands. Ever since Aralaim summoned a party of heroes, they've been wreaking havoc on our army. Especially that Takahiro bastard. And so we found you, someone who Drogger personally took interest in."

>>

It could be a big reason why he wants us and no one else. Besides our combat aptitude, we're also wanted dead by the laws of the human kingdoms, and our family was basically put to the axe. He could be counting on us being between a rock and a hard place and a need for vengeance to throw our lot in with him.
>>
>>2740223
Work /with/ demons, maybe. Work /for/ demons? Not a chance. Bonny got herself out of that hierarchical bullshit once already.

And I'm thinking they still would have to prove to her that 1) they're a side worth working with; 2) there's no other option than their chosen methods; and 3) their methods won't harm the people or places she cares about.
>>
>>2740237

>>
>>2740247
Of the people we've seen so far in our brief time with Bonny, I imagine she'd be pissed if Ariel got killed. And I imagine she must have at least some other family friends or old comrades.
>>
>>2740255
Bonny's only spent something like a few hours total in two cities so far. Just because we haven't seen any others yet doesn't mean none exist. She isn't a complete social recluse, as far as I can tell.
>>
>>2740266
Of course, of course. But from what we know so far, she's been keeping almost everyone she knows at an arm's length away. As if she doesn't want to be either rejected or condemned by them.
>>
>>2740270
That's quite possible. I don't see how that means she won't beat herself up over them dying, though, especially if it's due in part to her own actions.

Come to think of it, wouldn't her valuing their opinions of her so highly mean that she's even less likely to join up with someone they think is evil?
>>
"How strong is your forces. You seem confident Melia."

"The military is plenty strong don't get me wrong. One soldier of ours is much stonger than a average human. The real problem is numbers and land. Since Kapsha's been losing land for the longest time now we're almost surrounded by the humans. And being smaller what it used to be, our army isn't as huge as the others. There's also the pressure of keeping the most of our farmland too," Melia explains.

"Have you made an effort in persuading the heroes?"

"Only once. A commander tried to talk to the hero Takamino. He failed doing so as he died. Reports say the conversation between the two didn't go so well, the hero spouting that they're here to save humanity from the demon lord, like in the books," she says recounting the story. "The general public didn't take well to Takamino's words when the news came around."

"Okay...then why should I join you? You can't say your people is persecuted without any proof," you argue.

"I-I'm not lying, really! Have you seen our kind used as slaves?!" Melia jumps, shaking the carriage. "The woman sold off to your nobles as exotic concubines? The men forced to fight in gladiatorial rings! I've seen what humans done in my time as a captain, I know it's hard to imagine but what if it's the other way around?!"
Collecting herself Melia calms down, a sad expression painted on her face. "King Drogger took interest in you when news spread about you quiting the Knight Order. He knows it's bad to take advantage of such things but times calls for desperate measures. He's willing to pay for your assistance be it gold or anything else," shes says looking down.

(Cont)
>>
>>2740384
She does have a point; if we quit the Knights because of corruption and incompetent leadership, what does that say about the kingdoms that the Order worked with?
>>
>>2740384
The carriage stopping, you look out the window. A city full of demi-humans and demonkind. Walking around the streets passing shops, stores, and vendors. Resembling very much like Alaraim or Gosmor.

Getting off, Melia speaks to the guards for access. Offering a salute, they open the gate; Melia coming back into the coach.

Arriving inside the palace the carriage drops you off, finally ready to meet King Drogger. Melia taking the lead you follow her through the halls, taking you to the meeting room.

Stopping, Melia knocks on a door and addresses herself before given permission to enter. "Captain Melia of the intel team, I have bring Bonny Francis. Requesting permission to enter please."

"Permission granted, Melia," a low voice said behind the door. Opening it, Melia welcomes you inside.
Stepping into the room you meet a tall, muscular, lizardman. Wearing a regal set of clothing he sits in a chair before you.

"You must be Bonny Francis. I am grateful for you to be here with me, come take a seat," pointing towards a chair opposite of him.

Taking a seat, you sit by the table with a box placed on it.

"I apologize for forcing you here into Kapsha. I gave the order for Melia to rescue you when she reported you imprisoned. I am King Drogger Amoth, the ruler of Kapsha and known as the demon lord to you humans," Drogger introduced himself.

Even if she's no longer a knight, Bonny has standards. Things she would rather die than be forced to do. It's up to you to come to your own conclusions on what those things would be.

But she isn't a mercenary. And joining the enemy side isn't something she'd do at the drop of a hat.

As for me, I'm personally opposed to joining him without a damn good reason.
>>
>>2740493
Dunno if I'd call them the enemy side in her eyes anymore. Things aren't as black and white. Sure she'd be fighting her own kind, but her own kind just killed her family and sentenced her to death. Not a whole lot of love there.
>>
It's not like we're doing anything else with our life. might as well give the demi humans a chance.
>>
"What's in the box?" Pointing towards the item in question.

"Hoho, we'll get to that in a bit," Drogger laughs. "Before we get into the contents of this box I want to explain the details of what I have in store to you."

Hearing his words you take off your helmet, crossing your arms to listen to what he says.

"Now I won't argue that you shall take my side. But what if I told you that you can avenge your family? During Milea's time observing you, she gathered a lot of information about the tragedy of your family, the circumstances, and the ones involved," Drogger said, raising a hand towards Milea. "If you cooperate, you'll gain all the support and information we can give. Of course there's something I want in return," he says, sitting straight up. I want you to assist in defeating the heroes. The reason being that you were once a member of the Elite Blades."

That's a name you hadn't heard for a while. The Elite Blades are a team of knights who's combat prowess surpasses normal limits. Becoming masters in their own right. Usually they're called out to assist dangers beyond the Order or Church's control. Stuff like dragonslaying or fighting an army of the undead created by a master lich.

"So...? What do you say. Defeat the heroes for me, and I'll give you all the support you want. Even become a Kapshinian noble if you wish," Drogger offered as he takes the box into his lap.

>>
>>2740502
"I'm not doing anything else, may as well turn against everyone I ever knew" isn't quite a sentiment I'd ever expect. Because unless Drogger is looking for a diplomat, giving the demi-humans a chance here will likely mean going up against the humans.

Sure, some of those humans are incompetent idiots and some of them are treacherous fucks, but that doesn't mean they all deserve to die. There are good people like Ariel in there too.

I'm guessing Bonny's been keeping out of the war as much as possible up till now. Doing menial tasks, exterminations and escorts ever since she left her Order. Picking a side so easily like this, much less the one she considered the enemy up till now, feels wrong. Especially since they haven't actually proven to her that they're not lying about not being a bunch of assholes yet.

But I do realize the voting process is a democracy. As long as we get an interesting narrative out of our choices, I guess I can't complain too much.

"I...accept the deal."

"Thank you for accepting my proposition," Drogger says, extending his hand to you. In turn you extend yours, giving a firm shake.

"You do not know how much this means to me Miss Bonny. This may have a chance to regain Kapsha's former glory," he says in gratitude.

"I know you're happy and all but I don't really have a place to stay for a while," you notify Drogger.

"Oh I apologize! Milea, could you show Miss Bonny to the guest rooms," he asks the catkin. "Don't worry about a plce to stay. You can stay here as long as you like. And oh! I almost forgot as well!" Drogger says, handing you the box..

"What's this?" you ask him.

"It's something of a surprise. I was gonna give it to you either way if you declined or accepted, but nevermind that. Have a nice night Miss Francis," Drogger waved goodbye for the night. Watching as you exit the room with Milea.

-

Milea showing you to a guest room you crash onto the bed, the box held onto your chest.

"A personal maid will be assigned to you Miss Bonny since your gonna be staying for a while," Milea briefed you. "Oh and um, thank you for accepting. I know things may not go as plan, but I'm thankful for you," she says before leaving you.

Looking around, you inspect your surroundings. A large dresser, a body sized mirror, a closet, and bathroom. From what it looks like, it's a nomal luxury room.

Lifting yourself up, you place the box on the bed, starting to take off your armour and clothes. Placing your equipment in the closet. You grab a towel you found in the dresser, entering the bath. Luckily, the dresser also has sets of clothes so you don't need to worry about changing. Besides, it's been a long time since you've taken a proper bath.

Exiting the bath you open the dresser, pulling out a nightgown. Putting it on, you found it to be a little small. The cloth hugging your breast a bit too much.

Dropping down on the bed you look at the box. Tapping the lid, you feel that it's made of a hard material. But oddly enough it isn't heavy.

Opening the box you couldn't believe what's inside. "How did they get this?!" You mutter under your breath. Doubting what appears before you.

>Flashback

Treading the red carpet to the throne room, you walk the royal halls to your ceremony.

Finally, all you've done has payed off. All the years of training and reputation building leading up to this moment. Now giving you an opportunity to join the hands of the Elite.

The guards opening the tall doors, they usher you inside. Presenting itself, the royal hall was full of lavish decorations, nobles all around Alaraim spectating you by the sides. And of course the king and head priest waiting ahead of you by the throne.

Walking up to the throne you kneel before the king. Everything turning silent.

"Bonny Francis it is today that you've become one of the Elite Blades. Do you vow to dedeciate your life for the protection of people and human kind," the king says over you.

"Yes, I do."

"Do you vow to aid the royal court and church in its time of need."

"Yes, I do."

"Then you may stand before me," the king commands you.

Standing up you face him, waiting for his next order. The king signalling the head priest, he presents you a weapon wrapped in fine cloth.

"Upon becoming a Elite Knight, they shall be granted a magic weapon fitting for them. Here I present you this Sir Francis," the head priest holds towards you.

"Here we give you Tarasque, Sir Francis. Rejoice as this is a start of a new journey," he says before stepping backwards. Giving a nod to the king.

"I hereby declare Sir Bonny Francis a member of the Elite Blades! One of the few who have ever achieved at such a young age," the king announces. With a roar of cheers, the audience gives applause to you and your new position.

>Present

Moving the box away you take the greatsword in hand. Inspecting any differences in it.

During your fallout with the Order you had to relinquish Tarasque back to the king as a sign of resignment. If it's here than that means King Drogger somehow stole it. He did say that he was gonna give it to me either way, but this is unreal.

You steadily cover the lamp with the blade. Permitting light through it, the sword bloomed in a black shade. Yup it's the real deal, it's exactly the same greatsword you wielded.

Yawning, you feel tired. Laying down the greatsword next to the bed you go under the bedsheets, turning the lamp off. You have a lot of questions to ask Drogger once you wake up.

>Tarasque: A translucent greatsword with the ability to absorb, store, and reuse all manner of force. The amount of energy it can contain is limited to 200%. (Ex. Blocking a blow with the greatsword stores 3% charge. Reusing that 3% spends it, leaving you with 0%.)

Waking up the rays of sunlight temporary blur your vision. Looking aside to check on Tarasque you get off the bed, stretching your body.

Rubbing your eyes, you shout in surprise. Seeing a maid standing by the door like a statue. She wore an apron over her black dress; her hair held in a ponytail. The maid was just standing there, seemingly unaware of you. A stoic expression on her face.

"It is my duty to be of use to you. Be it night or day, Lady Francis," Tania says in her doll like expression.

Picking up Tarasque you thought to give it a few punches.

You punch the blade in succession, the sword glowing with each blow. Stopping, you look at your hands; thoroughly red and sore.

"Tell me about yourself Tania," you say eating the last of your dish.

"What in particular Lady Francis?" tilting her head.

"Anything. Who you are or why you're here."

"If that's what you wish. I am one of the head maids that runs this palace. His majesty picked me in particular because of my skills," a knife appearing in her hand out of no where. "Being a maid, I am also experienced in assasinations. The king said that I'll be useful in your endeavors."

"So you're saying you're coming with me on my job?"

"Yes, it's as you say. I, Tania, will be at your command. From slaying the heroes to housework," Tania pronounces, doing a curtsy.

"That goddamn lizard is doing too much for me," you sigh.

Drinking the last of your cup you finish your meal, Tania cleaning up for you. Opening the closet, you expect to see your armour. But only your satchel and clothes are inside.

"WHATDIDYOUDO?!" fuming at the maid.

"While you were sleeping I took the liberty to get it repaired," shes says, pushing the cart out of your room."I'll be back Lady Francis," closing the door before you could even respond.

Irritated, you change. Maybe you could blow off some steam in the palace's training grounds.

Changing out of your nightgown, you put on your clothes. The scent of flowers emanting from them.

"She shouldn't just touch other people's stuff..." you mutter. It looks like Tania washed them too.

-

Inside the barracks you step into the training ground. It took you sometime navigating the place until you found it in the inner ward. Especially when you're lugging Tarasque without a scabbard.

No one here, it seems to be only you at the time. You must've woken up early.

Deciding on basic exercises, you start to get your blood pumping. Stretching your body till it's limber, you make sure every muscle is awake.

Folding your body, you warm up. Bending one leg to your arm, repeating exercises you've learned in the Order. Breathing steady as you hold your position on after another.

Jogging through the grounds, you make a sweat. Kicking the dirt behind you as you make lap after lap. Noticing a maid or two, it seems the palace is waking up, generally seeing the palace staff do their jobs.

Resting for a bit you sit down on a bench, Tarasque set down on your lap. Relaxing, you let the morning rays of sun soak your skin. Soon enough soldiers and knights start coming in, looking back at you leaning against your seat.

Walking out of the crowd of soldiers, a stout, gruff looking demonkin with a beard approaches you. Wearing plated armour, he stops in front of you with a overly-friendly smile. "Hello friend! I am General Manavich, it seems you beat us the training grounds," he says in a boisterous voice.

-

Walking around the palace halls, you wander for a bit. You certainly needed to talk with Drogger again about a whole lot of things. For the job you need to know what your fighting against, you'd be damn if the heroes pull something from under their sleeves.

"There you are Lady Francis, I'm have found you. To the request of his majesty, he wants an audience with you at his office," out of nowhere Tania sneaks up behind you. The same doll like expression plastered on her face.

"W-WHA! You'd be giving old men hard attacks! Don't sneak up on me Tania!" you say. "Almost dropped my greatsword, this thing could crack the floor!"

"I apologize Lady Francis, but I'm here to lead you to his majesty," Tania reminds.

Taking a deep breath, you calm down, " Drogger huh? Actually it's quite convenient. Need to ask him stuff."

Following Tania she leads you Drogger's office. Entering inside, Drogger is sitting at a long table, documents stacked on his side.

Along with Drogger at the head of table, he's accompanied by four other people. Melia, slumped in her seat. Manavich, who's in the corner of the room, seemingly knocked out. A tall demonkin with long black hair and glasses. And a voluptuous harpy woman, playing with her hands.

Heeding Droggers words you take a seat at the end of the table. Leaning your greatsword on the arm of the chair.

"I suspect you've only met Melia and Manavich, Miss Francis. These other two are Baxtor and Varma," Drogger says, raising a hand towards said demonkin and harpy.

"Good to make your acquaintance Madame. I'm one of the three generals of Kapsha's military and leader of the magic branch" Baxtor waves.

"Hello, good to make your acquaintance as well." Varma says cautiously. "I'm also one of Kapsha's generals, head of the navy as well.

"Now with greetings out of the way, let's move on to what we're here for. What questions do you have?"

"Okay. First, how did you obtain Tarasque. When I gave it back to the Knight Order they locked it up in Alaraim's treasury."

"Oh I did!" Melia exclaims. "Before we rescued you, my team was tasked to steal it. We were gonna give it to you if you accepted the deal."

"Melia we were gonna give it to her either way," Drogger corrects. "Yes, as Melia explained, we stole it from Aalaraim for the time you come here. I thought it could assist you greatly against the heroes, as the blade was uniquely fitted for you."

"You know how hard it was kill the Royal Guard? It took me to use my magic sigils. I got trashed hard when Takamino came too," Melia comments.

"You shouldn't interrupt his majesty you know?" Varna scolds.

Readjusting your posture, you sit up more. "Okay Drogger, now that I know how you got my greatsword here's my second question. How much do you know about the heroes?'

"I believe Baxtor could explain it too you," pointing his finger to the suited demonkin.

"Ah yes. The hero party consist of Takamino Hiroto the hero, Kamina Satou the knight, Haru Nanaru the priest, and Kaya Sakamae the wizard," Baxtor says, fixing his coat.

"Tell me everything you know."

"Very well. I shall start with the hero Takamino Hiroto," Baxtor says, pushing up his glasses."He holds extreme combat and magical ability, often cleaving through our numbers with ease. Given unto him by by the Church is a pronounced 'holy' sword, which has the ability to set ablaze with magical fire. By far he's the most dangerous, mastering swordmanship and magic."

"Alright, what about the Kamina guy?"

"Kamina Satou is the knight of their party. Being the second most powerful, he's well versed in combat as well. Often times using a shield and longsword, he's been offered magically crafted armour, giving him excellent defense. The priest Haru Nanaru does not have any battle prowess compared to the rest of the group. But what she offers makes up for what she lacks. Haru has powerful healing magic, enough to cure the deadliest of poisons and most grievous of wounds. Ever since the hero party was set out to fight us, the opposing side's been experiencing less casualties."

"They sure are a thorn on our side. Baxtor, tell her about that wizard girl, because of her my naval fleet suffered a huge loss!" Varma mentioned.

"Oh yes, Kaya Sakamae. I really do admire her, but since we're fighting eachother I believe I won't be getting along with her," Baxtor laments. "The last member is their wizard Kaya. Having the ability to cast spells without casting, she has the power comparable to a dragon. She's the most skilled magic user, mastering water, fire, wind, and earth attibuted magic."

"From what is sounds like, you don't seem to have trouble gathering info about them," you doubt.

"Trust me Bonny, me and Baxtor worked hard getting all the information we can get. Often times our men and wizard died spying on them," Milea remarked.

"Now that you know about the heroes, I would also tell you about the war," Drogger catching your attention. "Currently we are fighting Gosmor and Alaraim, but you already know that. What I want to tell you is that Lilicar from the east has been aiding us secretly."

"Lilicar huh? No wonder that port kingdom was quiet recently," you say, remembering the few times you traveled there. Nice place.

"Mhmm, and recently Osfer from the far north had given a message that they would help us too," Drogger elaborated further. "All other states, announced that they will not intervene which is calming."

"You wouldn't happen to know who trained Hiroto at all? Any family members that this party was close to?"
"Who are the generals leading the Gosmor and Alaraim armies? I'm assuming that you have tried assassinating them before yes?"
"And do you have anyone that I can recruit on hand to have as squad members? Because from the sound of things I might need backup."

I'm thinking that if we can spread rumors of an attempted kidnapping on their loved ones and start false flagging attacks and fake out on attempted kidnappings, they'll be forced to have to start juggling between attacking demonic forces and making sure that their families are safe.
>inb4 the Hero is a orphan
It can still apply to the others.
As for the generals, it's as simple as 123. Remove the head to kill the beast, or in this case stop the army in it's tracks until they have to elect another general.
For party members for a group? Well yeah we're gonna need all the help we can get regardless of our training and blade.
>>
"Have you tried assasinating the enemy's generals?"

"Yes, we did. It worked the first few times, but now Gosmor and Alaraim steeled their borders and up the security of nobles. We can still make an attempt but the possibility of success is now low," Drogger dismally says.

"Seems tough. Hey four-eyes, do you know why they're so powerful? Any training or stuff like that," you call Baxtor.

"They're summoned. You see, summoning someone or something brings in powerful beings. At the cost of catalyst such as highly valued magical materials or...sacrifices, you can summon people from other worlds. Otherworlders come in a variety of strengths, but generally they're as strong as a member of Elite Blades to put it into scale," Baxtor furthers.

"If that's so powerful than why didn't you do it," confused by their choice.

"We 'can' do it, but the things we need aren't accessible," Varma says. "To elaborate of what Baxtor said, we need a copy of the spell's chant, the right magical circle formation, and highly powerful magic items. Items like a heart of a leviathan, something none of us wants to hunt. The other option is live sacrifices, and well, you know why we aren't doing that."

"As you can see Miss Francis, these are the circumstances we are in," Drogger sighs. "I'm sorry that I have to cut this meeting short. We have to get back to our duties. Miss Francis if you have more questions, you'll have to make an appointment. Just ask Tania here and she'll schedual it for you. But for now we must go."

Baxtor, Varma, and Melia saying their goodbyes they exit the room.

"Oh yeah, when do I leave for the heroes Drog?" Calling him by a nickname.

"A nickname huh, how enjoyable. I'd say tomorrow since we held this meeting to inform you but you can stay another day. Also your armour should be repaired by now and delivered back to your room," Drogger answers.

Waking up, Manavich groans. Rubbing his head he says groggily, "What happened? Why am I in his majesty's office? The last thing I remember is Tania before blanking out."

"I think you're mistaken General Manavich. You must've drank too much," Tania convinces the dazed warrior.

"Huh, really?" Manvich says in a confused voice. "Then I'll visit my room to recover. I apologize for such a scene your majesty," he says, exiting the room too.

Letting a moment pass by to register what happened, you ask one last question. "Is Tania gonna be the only person coming with me? I'd like to have another person to come as well. I don't think I can beat them with just me and a psychopathic maid."

"Hmm, I see. Since I doubt anyone else could meet your expectation I can arrange you to have one of the generals to assist you," Drogger accepting your proposal.

I'll have to either give his command to Manavich or Varma in while he's gone."

"Great, thanks for considering, lizard," you say as you pick up Tarasque, exiting the room.

"Haha, no problem," Drogger chuckled. "The deal did say that I'll support your needs if I can. I'll see you tomorrow as you leave. Until then, get ready Miss Francis."

-

Coming back into your room, the first thing you do is check the closet. Just like Drogger said, your armour has been delivered to you.

Repaired, the plate armour has no sign of damage, its color a darker gray with red outlines on the edges.. Next to the armour is a scabbard as well, made to be hung on your back. The size big enough for your greatsword.

Jumping on your bed, you let out a heavy sigh. Today was tiring, as attending a meeting always has. You thought you'd never step into a conference room ever again when you left the Order.

Flipping yourself over you watch Tania, seeming to never make a face.

"Did you really had to knock out Manavich, the big guy was out cold the entire time."

"I deemed it was necessary to. I'm sorry that I couldn't bring him sooner, I'll use my knives next time," Tania responds.

"You can't just do that to people you know." you rubuke.

This is only met with Tania tilting her head.

"Well... Nevermind that. What's your opinion on the heroes, do you know where they're going?" Purplexed by Tania's gesture.

Hearing you, Tania stays quiet for a few seconds. Then beginning to speak she answers, "Personally I don't like them. Speaking with Captain Melia a few times it seems they're too carefree during this war. It's...insulting, to me and the efforts of our army. It's frustrating hearing your country be backed into a corner while the heroes are reported to be playing about. I want to...kill them, I want to see there faces mold into fear," Tania says expressionless, a hint of malice in her words. "As to where the heroes are going, all I know is that they're making their way to his majesty to slay him."

Silence fills your room listening to Tania's words. You yourself could care less what the heroes are, but after hearing from Melia and now Tania, you feel a tiny bit convinced. That doesn't mean much though, as you took the job to have an opportunity to get back at Charles and the people who put your family to death.

Laying back down to your bed you take the time to think about all this, dozing off as you drift in thought. Soon enough you slowly close your eyes, taking a nap.

-

"Lady Francis, it's time to get up. Drogger says to get ready for a party," Tania shaking you awake.

"Party? What for?"

"It's a send off before you leave the Palace, it's just between you, him, and the generals. I didn't wake you up earlier as I felt it would be rude," Tania apologized.

"Huh, okay?" you say, dazed from waking up. "Just a little party before I go, huh." Getting up you walk over to your closet, ready to wear your armour.

"I'm afraid I can't permit you to wear your gear to this party Lady Francis," Tania interrupts you.

"Why not?" bothered that you can't wear it still.

"It's a formal, no matter how small it is. I picked up some fitting clothes since you don't have one," she says, presenting you a set of dresses.

"Formal wear, haven't worn one since I was a kid. I don't think they would suit me."

"Nonsense, Lady Francis. I made sure these clothes would compliment your nature," a light gleaming from Tania's eye. "Please choose and change into one of them."

IT'S SYMBOLISM!
A bit sad that we don't have a suit to wear but then I remember that the MC was literal nobility at one point in her life.
How much you wanna bet that the're going to send assassins to kill the king at this party?

Picking up the vanilla-white dress you run you finger down the cloth. Back then you used to wear dresses like these, going to parties and meets.

Changing, you look yourself in the mirror. Shoulder-length blonde hair, sharp eyes, tall build.

You touch a scar on your face, thinking how you looked as a child. Life as a gosmian noble was easy back then, and being honest, you thought that you looked cute when you were younger.

"I think I was right, dresses don't suit me Tania," you turn to the maid.

"Well I think it looks good. The contrast between you and the dress is beautiful in my opinion. And besides, we don't have time for you to change again," Tania says.

"I guess so..." muttering in agreement.

-

Arriving at the courtyard you reach the party.

It was a modest one; not one too many decorations, a few tables set by the garden, and a line of food delivered by the palace chefs. It actually looks nice. In comparison, you think that human nobles could take some notes considering how grand they make their parties.

Looking at the courtyard's garden, you admire the flowers, their pastel colors complimenting eachother under the night's moon. Grape vines climbing up the wall, rose bushes by the stonework, and trees overshadowing the yard. It all comes in composition.

Here Drogger, Melia, and the generals are enjoying themselves. Conversing about war, their lives, and stories.

EAT the food! EAT ALL OF IT! Gotta keep our body going for the road.

>>Eat some food. It's a party after all.

Going over to the food display you pick up something to eat.

Grabbing a plate you choose what's on the table. Roasted pig, steak cuts, exotic fruits and vegetables, you place them onto your dish. Finished getting what you want you find a seat, taking one by the garden's flowers.

Picking up a pair of silverware you start digging in. Biting into the meat you eyes twinkle, it's good! The pork and steak juicy and tender, it's full of flavor everytime you take a piece. Having a try with the fruits they taste unnaturally sweet, tangy with every bite.

As you continue your meal a waiter offers you some wine. Red to the color you take a whiff it smells...richer, much different from what you drank for breakfast.

Handling the glass, you drink it. The bitterness spreading throughout your mouth.

Downing the wine you begin to fill woozy, your face becoming red and flushed. The alcohol setting in, your surroundings start to feel weird.

Whatever that wine is, it's strong.

Getting up from your seat you decide to take a stroll around the courtyard to wear off the alcohol, you'd be embarrassed it if the others see you like this.

Drunk, you wander around the party as everything becomes more and more "fuzzy". You can't believe that one glass of wine did this.

Continuing your walk, you encounter...

"I ain't drunk old man," saying in a deadpan voice much like Tania's.

"You sure are my friend. Come, come! You can talk off the alcohol with the rest of generals. After all, tonight is a night of fun!" Manavich proclaimed, pulling you by the hand.

Coming back to the main area you see quite a sight. As the night went on, more of us got intoxicated.

Tania's in a corner with a sadistic smile on her face.

Varma is venting on Drogger on how the wizard Kaya destroyed her soldiers. Her wings flapping furiously.

Baxtor is...staring off to nothing, looking like he's having a existential crisis.

Melia is a sobbing mess.

Drogger's fine.

This is all happening while YOU yourself, are drunk as well.

"Hahaha! Looks like things are becoming more lively, friend," Manavich laughed.

"W-Why are you not drunk?" you manage to say.

"All I can say is that I'm good with the wine here, never got drunk in my life!" he boasted.

>Go talk with Tania, she looks like she's gonna murder someone
>Go talk with Varma, she might break something

We must "adopt" the maid as a friend/baby sister. And we'll end up befriending her and become close and make us remember about the good times we had with our family.
Which we're totally gonna use as a emotional powerup moment when the hero goes full retard and murders her right before our very eyes and we turn into the Butcher of Humanity
>>

Thats it time for shots with this man!!
And everyone should be dancing and singing
Also lets get more people in on this party
>>
Walking over to the...smiling Tania, you talk to her.

"You doing okay? That face isn't what I'm use to seeing from you," looking down at the maid, a wine bottle in her hand.

"Oh! Lady Francis, I'm sorry for such a scene, hehehaha!" Tania chuckled.

"You're scaring me, you look like you're gonna kill someone," you nervously say.

"Kill? No,no,no. I won't kill, I'll torture them alive, hahaha! I'll make them experience pain till they beg for death!" Tania shouts, taking another swig from the bottle. "Actually scratch that! I'll make them my slaves, those Haru and Kaya girls seem perfect as sows, hehehaHAHAHA!" she says, letting out an uncontrollable laughter.

"At this rate I'll feel sorry for the heroes if this maid's gonna fight them.." you murmur under Tania's fit.

"Nene, Lady Francis. Wouldn't you like to enslave one of the hero party's girls? I would certainly love to see their eyes when I punish them, tehaha! Unless Lady Francis," leaning forward, giggling. "You want me to be, "your", master."

"Oh?- Would you like to talk about it in dirtier details? Or would you like to leave something to the imagination?"

"C'mon Lady Francis, don't be so cold, kukuku. I have a fine supply of rope fitting for play," Tania chortled.

"I don't think I need to remind you who the master is," refuting her.

"Kukuku, HAHAHA! I-I guess so, you certainly won't be the one submitting unless your will is broken, hehehe," Tania says.

"Are you implying something?" questioning her imagination.

"No, no, not at all my Lady. It's just.. thinking about a strong person as yourself t-tied up makes me feel...pleasurable..." she comments, finishing the last of the wine bottle.

"Looks like I need to knock some sense into you, drunk pervert of a maid," you smirk.

"You're the drunk one, kuku. I'm cool as I've ever been," Tania says as she sways side to side, hammered.

You continue to converse through the night. Laughing, arguing, blacking out, the party went on till everyone had to retire to their rooms, or be carried by someone.

You're impressed, Manavich didn't seem one bit affected by the wine. Granted that he always acts like a jolly fool, he helped out a lot. He even spoke with Melia about her problems, ending in her being carried by him.

Yup, it was a good night.

-

Waking up the next day you see Tania at the same place. Standing like a statue. Today is the day you're leaving off against the heroes.

"Hey, Tania. Do you remember last night?" asking the maid.

"...No," Tania replies flatly.

"Huh, really? Well considering everyone but Drogger and Manavich was smashed, I'd guess you're right," you say, getting ready to take off.
