Praise be to the Tiny Snake God! May his smolness be rivaled only by his immense power! We are back and ready to rock! Due to boredom i am moving up the schedule for Dungeon Rebirth and the quest is live as of now! Last time, we died, were born, almost died, learned magic and faced death several more times. We became the spiciest and most toxic noodle to ever cross this particular floor of the Dungeon. Now we face our most dangerous foe yet....

A really, really, REALLY big Spider.

Its fucking big.

>"BOSS FIGHT BEGINS"
>Sholgotha The Terrible.
>Lv60 Legendary Giant Tarspider
>1000/1000HP

That notification blinks across your vision several times, a small green bar appearing across the upper region of your view. If tiny, magical, firebreathing, toxic snakes could gulp in apprehension, you would. Lacking the ability, you instead instincutally curl back, hissing slightly, your forked tongue flickering outward as the seemingly innumerable horde of TarSpiders form up in surrounding ring around their matriarch.

Thiiiiis is bad.
"Hisssss!!!"

Nice spider?
"Hissss?"

Seemingly in response to your thoughts, the dump truck sized Arachnids clacks its massive fangs together, a mental screech ripping through your brain like barbed wire made of acid.
"SCREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"
>"__________!!!! ______ ______!!!!"

From the way the surrounding army of TarSpiders ranging in size from overly large tarantulas to Volkswagen sized behemoths screech in response and charter angrily, you doubt it just gave you a pardon.

Milky white eyes the size of softballs blindly focus on you (somehow) as the gargantuan spider leans forward slightly, greenish drool, faintly glowing venom and black slime oozing down its sword sized fangs. [INSTINCT] screams at you to slither like a scaly Usain Bolt, to flee, to hide, to do anything but be eaten like a particularly bloody Linguine noodle.

>1. The doodoo resists your Earth Manipulation. A Shitmancer you are not

>"RUUUUUUUUUUNNNNN!!!"
Screams [INSTINCT] metaphorically shaking you by your nonexistent shoulders. The horde of spiders chitters angrily, hunger and hatred evident in their clusters of beady black eyes. Sholgotha lingers from side to side, it's meter long fangs clacking together hard enough to punch through steel plate, at least by your estimates.

Well, by your estimates and the scattered chunks of steel armor with familiarly sized holes punched through them.

Hey! Back up!
"HISSSS!!!"

Im warning you!!
"SSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!"

"SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
>"____ _____ _____!!!!"

With that final, mental and physical, headache inducing shriek, the massive matriarch stomps forward. Barbed legs the size of telephone poles punch downward with enough force to drive your noodley body a full meter into the ground. The horde of TarSpiders charge forward in a chittering wave that clamors to strip your tiny body to the bone and then probably spider-poo on your bones.

Oh fuck this shit
"Ssss!!

With a flexing of your mental muscles, you pierce the barrier in your mind, flooding your body with that strange cold-hot energy. Driving the energy ahead of yourself, you coil your body and lunge forward, willing a tunnel into existence.

Only this isnt earth, stone, sand or clay.

This is bat shit.

Your snout slams into the packed guano hard enough to carve a digit in the filth, smearing the grime across your head and filling your nostrils and mouth with the stench and taste. You whip your head back and forth, clearing the grime from your eyes as the horde approaches. [INSTINCT] screams incomprehensibly, running around your mind like its on fire.

Wait...

Fire works...

You delve deep into yourself and fill your lungs with air tainted by the scent of centuries of guano and spiders. You breathe in and exhale a nuclear holocaust.

GEEEEEETTTTTTTT FUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKEEEDDDD
"HIIIIIIISSSHOOOOOOOOOOOM"

Okay, maybe not a nuclear one. You're a two foot long snake but the twenty foot long stream of flame washes across the horde of TarSpiders, leaping from one to the next with the rapidity of a match in a bucket of gasoline soaked rags. The massive, slime coated Arachnids screech in terrified, confused agony as their bodies burst into flames. Sholgotha screeches in the mental and physical volumes again, sounding much like a suddenly braking train that digs hooks made of agony into your reptilian brain.

Her screeches of fury and rage turn to shrieks of agony as one of her suddenly blazing children brushes against a slime coated leg, flames licking up the appendage hungrily.

Flames spread through the horde, each flailing spider catching others alight. Their struggles setting the webbing, the egg sacs, the build up of hardened slime, the layers of Guano and mummified bodies.

Ohhh shit the guano...
"Hissssss......"

"Hissssssssss!!!"

Its all well and good to burn bugs with a can of hair spray but its less of a good idea when you just soaked your walls in gas and made your floor from dynamite. Its to to ru-er slither away and do so QUICKLY. Already the layer of hard packed guano is starting to smoke and smolder, thick whitish smoke drifting upwards as the spiders flail and screech, the air thick with the scent of burning chitin. For a moment, you almost feel pity for the still struggling victims held prisoner in the layers of silk.

But you value your own life more.

>11vsDC10. Squeaky success!

With the speed of a thoroughly motivated danger noodle you turn tail (literally) and wriggle at maximum velocity away from the growing conflagration. Guano piles smoke and hiss, spitting glowing sparks and billowing thick white smoke. TarSpiders run at full speed, flailing and screeching, limbs and abdomen bursting under the helping heat, spraying gouts of thick soupy entrails in all directions. Dessicated victims of the Tarspider colony burn like gas soaked matchsticks, bone and dry flesh providing a stark orange backdrop to the flames as they roar through the citadel of silk.
>"HURRRYYYYY!!!!!"
[INSTINCT] screams at you as dried deposits of Guano go up like casks of gunpowder. Small muffled explosions increases in both frequency and size, the ground actually rumbling beneath your belly as you slither over and under, around and across every obstacle in your path. Your eyes occasionally flicker to the damage counter rolling across the edge of your vision, the numbers steadily ticking up. First they reach the hundreds, then the thousands... Then the tens of thousands...

>Level up X8
>Level up ×13
>Level up X18

Your points rocket upwards, rolling inexorably upward like some nerdy kids video game score. You can't even*imagine* the scale of death and destruction your simple puff of flame is causing....

Honestly? You don't even want to know.

The air is growing foggy with smoke, the scent of fiery death growing ever closer just as you grow closer to your safe haven, the fungus riddled heights of Mushroom tower

Wriggling through the entrance hole, a quick flex of your earth manipulation seals the opening behind you. The dim glow of your small farm of glowing mushrooms supplies the only light as you curl into a ball, the roar of the flames and the shrieks of the dying audible even beneath several inches of solid stone...

>Hours pass
>100/100 Mana

The stone is warm, uncomfortably so beneath your scales. The rock on the outside of your hideout is audibly hissing and popping, the mushrooms on its sides most likelt burnt to ashes. Oh well, your tiny farm in here could seed the growth of more. What really concerns you however is that number, flashing at the bottom corner of your vision.

Having some minions to act as a mix of expendable scouts, labour and such is useful. Also the benefit of them speaking all humanoid languages (>>2715893) means we can avoid having to buy them ourselves saving us literally hundreds of points.
>>

Think about it like this. Leviathan Breathe deals 5d100 fire damage at the cost of 50 mana (Avatar of Flame Trait baby).
Furnace, at the cost of 10% of your HP gives you +1 damage die.

Should cost 470 points by my math so we can certainly do far more but the problem is without knowing what has happened since the spiders died we can't predict what resistances, attacks and therefore upgrades are best to deal with the new neighbours.

I therefore suggest getting this as a basis, granting us a significant boost in our resistances and physical abilities until we can find out if we going to be fighting humans or monsters or something else.

>>

Idea for a school of magic

>Amplification: the study of empowering spells.
-Focus: spend 2.5mana for double the spell. each tier lets you go triple, quad, etc. Essentially firing the same skill back to back to back in a turn.
-Extend: Increases the inherent duration of spells, passive
-Overcharge: Increasing tiers of artificial empowerment of a spell by dumping mana into spell with diminishing returns. 2x is just 2x the amount of mana, while 3x costs 3.5, etc. etc. etc. increased ranks improve efficiency but effect.
-Multicast: Declare which spells will be cast, and multiply cost of all spells by 2x, can trim down cost to 1x at max level.
>>
>>2716083
I'll support your roll if you drop the all the Resistances except for Ice.
>>
>>2716083
supporting for now.
>>
>>2716084
>I would rather eat more poisonous stuff. Flat modifiers aren't as great as % negations.
True but we can't purchase a % negation and I would point out that experience implies we are quite far away from being able to get such a thing from our consumption of mushrooms given we only got % upgrades after firebombing the entire spider population.

Also, that level of steel resistance seems kinda pointless: if we exit our burrow we might encounter humans or something but I'd point out that we could just as well encounter new monsters or mages (who'd bypass all resistances admittedly rendering this a null point).

>>2716090
For what reason? I'd agree to lowering the level of shock and light resistance but I feel steel and poison are potential risks to be wary of given the change we just caused.
>>
>>2716094
What if we get snake armor?

For steel and poison we can do what we did with the mushrooms. Regenerate and cast healing spells until we power through it. Sort of build a tolerance to poison like that one king that failed to poison himself because he was so resistant.
Why keep the ice? It's nice to stay warm, and ice is the polar opposite of what we are.
>>
>>2716059
How big is Size X?
>>
>>2716099
>What if we get snake armor?
Snake armour is an extremely complex thing to design let alone produce given the method by which they move.

>For steel and poison we can do what we did with the mushrooms. Regenerate and cast healing spells until we power through it. Sort of build a tolerance to poison like that one king that failed to poison himself because he was so resistant.
For poison true we could but we lack access to any sorts of human weapon. Personally I'd rather we didn't wait to be in combat to find out how well their blades bite.

>Why keep the ice? It's nice to stay warm, and ice is the polar opposite of what we are.
I can see the logic there.

>no hydra head

>>
>>2716166
Like I said: no weaknesses. Until we learn how to fite gud, getting a new head will necessitate creating a blind spot wherever the necks intersect, and then there's the problem of friendly fire and sensory overload. We're already getting a huge boost to Senses, let's not add a second existential awareness.
>>
>>2716167
snake necks are pretty liberal with their snake necks and blind spots. I wouldn't worry about that. The only time I think Friendly fire would be an issue would be for a crit failure.
You can't learn how to use two heads if you don't practice, and practice we shall the minute we get another.
>>
>>2716173
Consider we probably didn't kill that legend spider, I don't think we'll get to practice much in the immediate future.

By the way, mr. legend spider probably has fire resist now.
>>
>>2716059
>Skin V (310)
>Sense VII (1270)

Let's just go with a general feel right now. Resistances can be leveled up pretty easily through resistance training and we level up for it too so a kind of free points/exp.

>>2716176
Oh no, we didn't kill the spider boss/queen but we probably damaged it. I'm thinking the health on it has to be around 100-200. so our damage of about 30 didn't insta-kill it if it did have the critical weakness of x3. I don't think it has resistances to fire though. Also we have a 8d100 Leviathan's Breath to clean it for good.
>>
>>2716176
Sure we do? We're far from the area of the spider webs. We can kill a few lesser bugs for practice.
I highly doubt a creature with a natural weakness to fire will gain a resistance to it. It might be more likely it might have a strong phobia of us.

>Sholgotha The Terrible.
>Lv60 Legendary Giant Tarspider

Damn look at that top cunt. I guess our best bet to increase our HP is to do some cqc combat.

oh shit it had 1000HP? Well damn. It's probably at 950/1000HP right now then
>>
>>2716179
critical weakness x3 on top of rolling a crit.
>>
>>2716183
so about 60 if it;s 20x3 unless crits are a x2 themselves... so it's a 20x3x2 which would be 120 damage which still wouldn't have killed it. It's fine we'll get it next time
>>
>>2716181
We made a beeline for our homebase, and we don't have any stealth skills.

Considering Sholgotha probably developed senses, tracking our tiny little snek would not be hard.
>>
>>2716187
I think you're underestimating the damage it suffered. There is it's natural x3 dmg weakness mod + the crit + continuiously burning because tar spiders naturally produce burning material + a ton of other burning spiders burning and bumping into each other in panic.

>>2716188
Then we'll get the head right after we kill the old spider.
>>
Also something to consider:
We are currently asleep while leveling up. I believe that is how it has been so far every time we level up, we go to sleep.
>>
EZ PZ just get big enough to coil around fat spoder's fat spoder ass and the only thing it can do is web you while you deal grapple and bite damage to it's abdomen. If you had swole legs to could snekplex it but that isn't gonna happen. Then since you'll be webbed to it and it'll be dead you can eat it until you molt and wiggle free of your silky hell.

I may or may not be missing out on 99% of the complexities of the combat in this quest and actually everything else because I just got here this thread.

P.S. snek abs.

The first levels of the resistances are cheap for a nice effect, so we should get
>Ice Resistance II (20+40 = 60)
>Poison Resistance: no, we'll eat mushrooms for that
>Shock Resistance II (20+40 = 60)
>Light Resistance II (20+40 = 60)
>Steel Resistance II (20+40 = 60)

Total 1190 Points. Then we should take a look at the combat menu. We can always come back to the upgrade menu later.

Also Cursed, we gained Health Regen II twice, once from the first mushroom and once from the second:

>>2716636
Ah. But you see Ivan.
If you are Hydra, you tunnel twice as fast, because you have two heads to cast spells and only ONE body to move forward.
>>
>>2716641
Except your still moving roughly the same amount of earth, unless your intending to provide a pushing effect.

Come to think of it, a nice passive earth magic ability could be our scales passively folding earth around it to push the body forward faster.
>>
>>2716646
System wise there shouldn't be a reason why having two heads would hinder mobility, or the physical description might have mentioned that.
>>
>>2716632
They give flat +2 to dodge ya mong.
>>
>>2716655
I know they do, but if people say that learning to use two heads will take time to learn, then the same would apply to wings wouldn't it?
>>
>>2716661
Flat.
+2.
To dodge.

We dont need to know how to fly to increase base stats. Hydra has potential but it inherently grants nothing.
>>
>>2716662
A +2 against ground bound opponents and you wouldn't need to know how to fly to apply those modifiers wouldn't you? It wouldn't make much sense otherwise. Hydra I isn't as bad as you think. Casting two spells, be it the same or two different ones can be very powerful. That's two times the hurt. 2x DPS. If you or that other anon is worried about misfire spells into the other head then so long as they're fire attacks the damage should be null thanks to the Avatar of Flame Trait.
>>
Would we have to have a second head sprout out of our danger noodle's neck or could it just replace the end of the tail?
>>
>>2716678
Having a head at each end would be super weird. It also raises sanitary questions and those of shared experiences.
>>
>>2716706
Snakes don’t shit out of the tail. They have an underside poop chute. But still double snek side will be dumb as shit
>>
>>2716716
Oh I know. Just your going to be dragging a head backwards into that.
>>
>no one wants to be snek-cat

You could go on zany adventures with your inferior half.
>>
>>2716727
what's that? Legs V?
>>
I just threw out the idea of double snek because a lot of people seem to like the mechanical benefits of multiple heads but not the idea of being a hydra. Seemed like an okay compromise with the advantage of having no blindside. As for biological concerns; it's magic, I don't gotta explain shit.
>>
>>2716741
>Don't gotta explain shit.
Quite literally.
>>
>>2716733
Well a dog wouldn't work very well in a cave. It's a cat-dog reference. I guess it was a bit too vague.

Looking over the updated stats you mentally hiss in approval as they slowly fade away. You were a small snake once. Now you are quite a bit bigger, stronger, spicier and apparently nuclear powerIII..

The flashing orange red text of COMBAT scrolls up to the top of your view and the list of attacks known to you. While not incredibly impressive, you cant be too surprised, Snakes aren't known for their combat prowess.

>Scorching Bite III. 50pnts. 1d20+4 damage

>Crushing Bite I. 25pnts. 1d20 damage. Chance to crack tough shells or armor

>Ripping Bite I. 75pnts. 1d20 damage. Deals 1d10 bleed damage for 3 turns.

>Toxic Bite I. 50pnts (Requires Toxic I) an improvement of venomous bite. Deals 1d20 damage and 1d10 Toxicity damage for 3 turns.

>Icy Bite (Requires Water I) 75pnts. Deals 1d20 and does freeze damage, slowing foes for 3 turns.

>Coil II. 20pnts.1d10+2 Physical damage for every turn the enemy fails a resist roll.

Armor pen, movement attack, rear attack.

Crushing because we could use some Anti-Armor, fire tends to be lackluster at that. Unless we get a Scorching Ray kinda deal, with a ton of heat focused on a tiny area to melt through tough stuff.
Scorching to capitalize on those sweet extra dice from AoF.

>Crushing Bite II (25+50 = 75) for armored enemies
>Ripping Bite II (75+150 = 225) so that one hit will hurt the enemy for multiple turns

>Coil II (20)

>Tail Whip II (20?)
together 460 points, save the rest

Cursed, are the different bite types additional? I.e. does having scorching+crushing+ripping+toxic bites inflict 4d20 +bleeding +poisoning etc.?
>>
If we have points left over or if people who want to save points can agree, I say we bump up our magic a bit before moving on. When has our magic not been useful and even just a level or two of earth/water/whatever would be super helpful exploring the remains of spider crater
>>
>>2718343
dude what. It's still 1 bite. It'll do 1d20. What kind of broken ass games do you play that they would stack like that?
>>
>>2718435
Would be a cool metamagic ability way down the line when were a prismatic wingserpent!
>>
>>2718435
Well, we have Scorching Bite II which does 1d10 damage, but level III will do 1d20+4 damage, changing not only the modifier but also the base die. Crushing and Ripping bites start with 1d20 damage. So it could be that the 1d20 is not the base damage for biting (which would not stack) but instead that there is a different (and stacking) damage for each variant.

You make your selections, the pair of highlighted Bite Attacks flashing before moving upward of their own volition, joining your "stat list".

Your view flashes, your stat list flashing across your field of view for several moments before fading away

(Tried to balance everything out. Lemme know if I missed anything)

The text fades away being replaced by the slow edging in of reality. Your vision fades back in along with a distinct impression of being squeezed on all sides. From the rustling and feeling of being carpeted, you can imagine you shed your skin several times. The tightness of your formerly roomy bowl expands with a subtle flex of Earth Manipulation, the cozy interior of mushroom tower seeming much cozier all of a sudden. Wriggling from under a blanket of dry, vibrantly red shed skins, you are struck by two realizations.

One, you are one ripped snake! Your visible coils swell with muscle, the banded lengths looking like steel cable under your scales which suddenly resemble that of a crocodile more than that of a snake. Overlapping plates of diamond shaped scales as big as a mans thumbnail and nearly a quarter inch thick.

The second is that you are on FIRE. [INSTINCT] takes a moment to appreciate this new information before mentally screaming and running in the opposite direction. After a brief moment of panic, you realize its simply the coloration of your new scales, seemingly random patterns of Orange, yellow and crimson across your scales realistically mimics the design of a roaring bonfire. Just as this thought crosses your reptilian head, your scales slowly burn up to a dull reddish glow, steam and cinders rising from your scales as they achieve temperature great enough someone could use you to brand cattle.

Thats concerning
"Hissss...."

After a moment the effect calms, the heat bleeding away in editing currents that make the air shimmer as you turn your head this way and that. It seems you were out for quite some time as your mushroom garden on the inside of the tower has grown, dozens of little shroomlets popping up in alcove and clustering around the small pool in the center of the hollow space.

Welp... Better take a look...
"Sssssss...."

Slithering over to the small pool of collected drip water, you gaze into the shiny surface, illuminated by the bioluminescent mushrooms. Your tongue flicks out in shock as you contemplate your physical changes.

You.....

Are....

KICKASS!
"SSSSSSS"

>Cont
>>
>>2719155
Your body has nearly doubled in width, becoming as thick around at your widest as a large mans arm. Your scales are thick and strong, diamond shaped and angled back to overlap like a suit of armor. Your head has become arrow shaped and much wider, your jaw muscles and Ganges becoming much thicker and stronger, the curved hooks poking from under your scaly lips as your tongue flicks out, suddenly tasting all the new scents you can pick up.

Your eyes glow, actually fucking *GLOW* in the dark with a dull red light as smoke seeps from your nostrils like a recently fired pistol (painful memory ow). In the dim light of mushroom tower, the interior may as well be lit by a million candles. You open your maw, admiring the curved needles that fill your mouth, easily two inches long each.

Your stomach rumbles hungrily and you cant help but wonder what on Earth (if you're even on earth anymore) could challenge you now.

After all... You *are* a Leviathan.

Whatever that means...

>16! Great Quality Snek Shrine!

Overcome by a moment of inspiration (and probably no small amount of unhealthy mental coping) you decide to construct a shrine to the one thing you have hope in right now.

Tiny Snake God.

You arent honestly sure if he is real, a god of tiny snakes or a tiny snake who happens to be a god. Could be all of the above, could be a sentient ball of flying pasta, could be an unhealthy delusion by your desperately screaming and fractured mind.

But thats not important.

With a quick flex of your Earth Manipulation, the stone of the near wall of Mushroom Tower flows like water, shifting and shaping itself into a recessed shrine. Glowing mushrooms sit in tiny alcove, providing what you think is a appropriately reverent light to the small, twisting serpent that coils itself from the stone. Wrought from the dark brown stone of the tower, it resembles you at your smallest, less than a foot in length, a tiny halo extending above its diamond shaped head. Rising up on a small pedestal, it appears to have skyward in wisdom and mercy, venerated by the squat form of its trusted acolyte, Fat Toad.

You aren't sure why but you can *feel* a tiny, powerful presence flicking its tongue in appreciation as you finish the tiny shrine ti the tiny deity.

.....

Well then.

>17,17,17. Triple Excellent success!

With a near instinctual nudge of Earth Manipulation, the entrance to Mushroom Tower opens. Rock flows like water, creating a arched entrance more than large enough for you pass through. As the gateway opens, hot, soot filled air drifts in, reeking of ash, burned flesh and charred chitin. Wisps of greasy grey smoke coil through the opening like the ghosts of the damned, your new eyesight picking out the details of your surroundings as you emerge from Mushroom Tower.

You may have went a *little* overboard.

The cave, the Dungeon, while never a pleasant looking place now resembles some smoldering hellscape. Charred corpses litter the ground, the cracked shells of giant crustaceans and insects, smoking piles of flesh that used to be bats, rats and a particularly large toad. Ash drifts down like snow, gathering in drifts and heaps like some nightmarish blizzard. The air is hazy with smoke, reeking of death and char.

In the distance, a dull glow signals the smolderimg remains of the guano pile and the TarSpiders citadel. You dont imagine the bats living above it fared well, heat rising after all. The combination of hellish heat, choking smoke and nowhere to really run must have decimated their population. Those too slow to escape must have burned or choked to death.

However, a familiar chittering from your south signals at least a few bats have survived in this area of the dungeon. And you have a craving for wings and don't care much for the source of them.

You turn your noodley gaze upwards, towards a great spire of stone hanging from the ceiling. Easily as big around as an apartment complex, its sides are dotted with crevices and crannies carved away by the talons of the giant bats that dwell up there.

Just out of your reach.

Suddenly an idea strikes you, looking at the slowly curving wall of the dungeon. Stretching what must be nearly three hundred feet high, its your surest way to get within firing range of some tasty soon-to-be crispy bat pups.

Slithering through the ash drifts at your highest possible rate of speed, you reach the walls edge. Jagged stone, caked in layers of waterborne grime and accumulated filth stretching upwards before slowly curving in to a semi-rounded ceiling. At your will, the rock begins to shift and flow, taking the form of a slowly spiraling tunnel stretching upwards. A small ramp extends out from the wall, curving upwards and diving back into the wall. With a self-satisfied hiss, you wriggle into the tunnel, your will shaping the structure ahead of you. Every few meters, the stone parts and you pop your head back out for air, taking note of your rapidly ascending height.

Your "Staircase to Bat Lunch" progresses rapidly, your skill with Earth Manipulation growing, the tunnel becoming smoother, easier to create, more sturdy. When you pop your head out of the tunnel, you find yourself looking *down* onto the ashswept reaches of the dungeon floor.

Holy FUCK this is high
"Hissssss!!!"

>"WE SHOULD NOT BE THIS HIGH UP!!! PANIC! BATS! BATS! SNAKE EATING BATS! HIIIIIDE!!!"
Screams [INSTINCT] , flailing like the panicky little prick it is.

You go to push forward, to complete the final stretch of this journey in sight when suddenly you stop as *something* emerges from the stone in front of you as your will shifts it.

The fuck?
"Ssss?"

Your eyes are nearly dazzled by the pulsing, faintly greenish glow of a smooth faceted, angular crystal that *plinks* onto the floor of your spiraling tunnel. Its depths twist and turn, spiraling motes of light flashing like fireflies. Its almost the size of a chicken egg by your estimation and seemingly lighter than it looks.

You puzzle over the glowing crystal for a moment, looking at it from every angle, sniffing it, watching the floating motes of energy in its depths. Its beautiful, mesmerizing, even being near it makes your scales tingle with something like static electricity. Your tongue flicks out, brushing against the stone and receiving what feels like a very mild electrical shock as you jerk back a few inches and puzzle over this strange rock.

What the fuck is this glowing thing?
"Ssssss?"

>580/760 Mana
>Cursed Knowledge accessed
>Small Mana Stone
>Description: found in the depths of the dungeon, these stones are quite literally crystallized mana energy. Used in the construction of magical artifacts, mechanical constructs and mana potions, they sell for hefty sums to the brave adventurer/miners who pry them from the depths.

Hmmm...
"Sssssss"

A mana stone eh?
"Hisssssss?"

If its crystalized mana, maybe if you held it for a bit, it would recharge your reserves at an accelerated rate? Its worth a shot you reason to yourself as you slither close to pick up the egg shaped crystal when suddenly a realization strikes you.

You lack hands...

Fuuuuuuuuck
"Sssssssssss!!!"

Well... Only one thing to do. Gingerly opening your jaws, you inch forward, gripping the smooth faceted stone between your teeth and lifting it up, the energy making your tongue and teeth tingle as you wait for any effects.

>IVE GOT IT! ILL HELP! FOOD IN MOUTH EAT THE FOOD ILL HELP ILL HELP!!"
Screams [INSTINCT], knocking you away from the controls for a moment. You can only look on in horror as [INSTINCT] takes control of the mouth and throat, tossingvthe crystal back and swallowing it whole.

Fucking ASSHOLE
"Sssssss"

>"I HELPED"

Now, with a likely irradiated stone sliding down your gullet, you can only sit and hope it isn't TOO painful when it comes out the other end. Suddenly, a burst of warmth moves through your body, the tingling cold-hot burst of magical energy.

Its amazing

Its a rush of power like nothing else youve ever felt before. Its incredible. Your entire body is suffused with pure power, flooded with warmth and light actually seeping from under your scales.

Its getting hot actually

Too hot.

Anons, the plan is simple.

We already did tho
>>
>>2721795
Let's ride it out, we have more than enough hp, maybe we'll get something from it. And if it gets too dangerous, we can still vent the mana with high-cost spells.
>>
>>2721795
We could use this opportunity to actually earthshape favorable habitation space for the bats and spiders. And maybe find out where the moths and the dungbeetles come from.

Now you may ask, "Why the fuck do we want to MAKE living space for these fuckers?" My answer is: Exp. farming. and regular food farming too. But mainly XP farming.

We create caverns which can be easy to isolate, cultivate the mushrooms on top of a pillar and just start luring the prospective XP in. The moths come in, followed by the bats, followed by dung beetles, by the other scavengers, yadda yadda yadda. When the cavern is sufficiently populated, set the place on fire, seal enough so the critters can't come out, ???, profit. then rinse and repeat.

>>What do? Earthshape yourself a swanky palace

We shall, in time, make them worship at the altar of the tiny snake god. (not THE altar, of course. That one's ours. We'll make them another one, suitable for their adoration)
>>

>>
>>2721795
>Summon 3 minions to start Carving tiny snake god reliefs along the cave walls

>Terraform. Expand the mushroom territory to more pillars.
>Sprinkle water everywhere, letting some settle and letting other evaporate off your skin and make the higher areas foggy
>Terraform. Make an umbrella rock structure near the center, and, protected from bat guano, attempt to make LAVA using leviathan breath
>Heal the rest
>>
>>2721979
>>2722011
>>2722029
Pretty sure the cave is already an ideal location for the Bats, beetles and moths. The moths are attracted to the light, the bats are attracted to the isolated cave, the beetles are attracted to the shit. We mostly need to use the water magic to wash out all the ash and blood stains from the walls.

>>2722070
The minions could be used to collect all thw loot that might have survived the explosion.
>>
>>2721869
Oh. Can we drop down from the cave ceiling, earth manipulate the floor before falling for a 10/10 dive, then start making the statue?

>>2721875
Literally who?
>>
>>2721795
As others said, we have to use up the excess mana. At least 600 mana, perhaps 750, depending on the 4 turn duration is counting this turn already.
Shaping the cave is fine and summoning minions is fine.

Will the minions stay permanently? Then after redecorating the cave create as many sets of 3 as we need.
>>
>>2722095
Yes, the Dungeon itself is an ideal location for them. But not all of it is. There are pockets of populations here and there. You mean to tell me you're not interested in making a convenient nearby XP farm or farms? And we make them so that we can seal them off to not let the eventual barbeque fire spread out of control.
>>
>>2721795
So having too much mana is killing us?

Then we need to start casting really big spells before we die!

Because if we have too much mana without using it, then the damage will eventually become something like -100HP per turn!
>>
>>2722125
I believe in a diverse ecosystem. Besides. How are you going to make it so the cave is exclusively for bats and beetles?
>>
>>2722176

Well, spikes littered on the floor will make it harder for large creatures. Shitting sand and water everywhere would also disturb some types of animals, but I'm not sure which specifically.

And we could always just make an extensive tunnel network that lets us harass them.

Hey QM, why havent you mentioned that your quest is basically ripped entirely from https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSnakeReport/top?t=all
It seems a
little disingenious to not only steal most of the setting and the MC, but to perfectly imitate the beginning of the story in thread 1. The toxic mushrooms, earth and fire magic, tiny snake god, reincarnation, centipedes, digging a cave to survive, toad, cave and so much more is just directly ripped from it. Atleast bother to credit the writing you're stealing you cunt

read chapter zero and one before you open your mouth. The exact same series of events, from being reborn, seeing snake mother dead and feasted upon by centipedes, being chased by one and hiding in a small hole in the ground, its all stolen directly from the beginning of snake report. There is inspiration, fan fiction and then there's this, which is basically copying your classmates testresults and paraphrasing it so it wont be obvious you cheated.

But hes right. Not only is the QM slow as balls, but he isnt exactly writing anything new from the reddit one.

Well, Ive seen this premise three times in my nip comicbooks, "Im a Spider, So what?" "Re-Monster" and "My reincarnation as a Slime"
So, the premise isnt an issue for me, it's the EXACT COPYING of something thats already written, with worse writing and "choices"

if qm comes back, Ill continue to read it, I guess.
>>
Well I checked it out, and that's a LOT of straight copying. Therefore:

I advocate going full hydra just to be immediately different. 8 extra heads, the whole shebang.

We should definitely start using the other elements as well, along with doing weirder stuff like making lava or farming mushrooms.

I'm personally not really miffed. Much of what happened was partly because of the QM's copying, but also because nobody's really tried anything interesting to force this thing off the rails.
>>
>>2724037

I agree with you on the multiple heads, but holy shit eight heads. You know how expensive that's gonna be?
>>
>>2724050
we certainly can't afford it now. I'm just saying: if foxes can have nine tails then screw them! WE get nine HEADS.
>>
Hey bat fangs aught to be worth something right? We should save those to sell in the future. Bat fangs, maybe furs, various items off dead humanoids, those mana chunks scorpion poison glands. Don't we get ore and metal manipulation if the earth manipulation tier is high enough?

>>
>>2724060
We need haaaaand. And that is what our minions are here for. We don't know for certain if fangs are cheap or strong or not, but they will be worth something to someone. And for the furs we can try killing the bat by not using our fire power. Maybe suffocating them.

Minions. Summoned minions will do it.

>>
>>2723874
I actually got in contact with the author and based the quest around the intro to the story. This quest was made with his full consent and permission. I was attempting to keep the story faithful to the setting and story HE created, and then diverge from it to begin creating Something parallel.

Thanks for recognizing a lot of the setting and story details though, im sure the author would be impressed
>>
>>2724484
Good writers borrow, the best writers steal.
>>
>>2724518
The reason that the story has progressed much (nearlye exactly) like the Snake Report is because the players have made the decisions almost identical to that of the MC in the story. The setting is entirelt based on the beginning of the Snake Report. If it moves along in that direction, the similarities will continue because that's how the setting is constructed. Ive literally got notes with Main Story Events set up like a timeline because that's how the quest seems to be progressing. If you guys pick a different route, different event notes get used.

I apologize for not posting it in my OP post, I have the consent and setting information from the author directly. I discussed the setting with him and told him how I would be writing it as a slow divergence from the beginning of his work.

He was fine with this. Being called a stealing cunt is kind of insulting to to me because I did thid out of appreciatoon for the work the guy had put in and seeing the potential for a fun quest based heavily on his story.

alright, if that is so then i take back what i said earlier. I want the minions to be little smokey drakes with claws. You need clawed hands for fine crafting.

First we'll carve our own tunnel in the side of the main cave deeper into the earth with a slight decline downwards. When we're a good hundred meters away we'll excavate a huge cavern, possibly a milke or kilometer in circumstance. The ground will start leveling downwards like a combination of an amphitheater and surface mine, with the temple located at the very bottom and center. The Temple will have gothic style architecture, stone doors, Stone pews, a stone altar. There will be a giant stone Tiny Snek and a toad behind the altar.

So for you to be happy he has to not only get the authors consent but start every thread with a trigger warning that he has the authors consent and a full disclaimer that the setting is based off another internet persons work. Then he has to spread his gaping butthole in goatse style and impale himself on your massive self-importance.

I mean seriously dude, you are at best a fan of some dude who writes stories for the internet, and now you want to ruin the enjoyment of several people so you can fluff your own sense of self importance.

Fucking kill yourself, I am sure you will make more people happy by doing it than you will by living. I know you have thought about it, don't let your dreams be dreams! (Hashtagstolenfrominternetmemegodhashtagreddithastag9gaghastagShiaLeboufhashtagShyleBEEFCAKEhashtagassgremlinhashtaggungadin)

Can we also include Jörmungandr surrounding the area?
>>
>>2724931
We cant do that because some other reddit post will get triggered that we are stealing their 100% donut steel OC of their favorite life proxy! I mean the life proxy that is currently writing about Jormungandr could all give their consent, but if the Donut Steelions don't agree then it would just be too much of a risk.

We don't want to risk angering like 3 people that are fans of some obscure story.

Honestly this is the first time I have ever heard of whatever story this is based off of, I almost want to read it and support the author, but if he has fans like this I am not sure it is worth my time. And I currently am a fucking NEET so that says a LOT.
>>

>>

>>
>>2725043
Congrats on ignoring bitchy-snake-story-fan-kun. Apparently you can't do a quest without getting not only the original authors blessing, you have to get the personal and possibly sexual blessing of everyone who has ever read their story. So the quest to get non-triggered permission to have a quest about jormungandr would likely take longer than the the quest itself. Since modern man has apparently" lost the abilitiy to just say "Fuck Off". Back in the day saying "Fuck Off" basically meant "Go away or a sharp bit of metal is about to go through your chest".

It is sad that sharp bits of metal going through peoples chest might be the only thing keeping people civil.

Really making a big statement there, faggot. I couldn't give less of a shit about your enjoyment being ruined if you're so thin skinned that a few mean comments on the internet will ruin your fun. I care nothing for your petulent whining, besides it being moderately entertaining, and your opinion doesn't even have that going for it. You will never do anything worthwhile, and after you die none will remember either your acomplishments or identity.
>>
>>2725225
Dude, seriously stop wasting everyones time and just kill yourself. You can try as hard as you want to pretend to be clever but the honest truth is no one enjoys talking to you and whenever you call them the reason they don't pick up isn't because they are busy, it is because they want you to stop calling them.

Seriously, just google "How do I kill myself" and get it over with, you seem like you need a step by step guide. Fuck, you will probably mess it up the first few tries and someone will be dumb enough to consider it as a"cry for help" and some social worker will try to convince you not to ff yourself. But trust me, just keep at it and people will be happier when you are gone.

I mean if you live in a free country you can at least buy a shotgun and take the 12gauge cure. Then again, please don't, as much as I wish you would kill yourself, please don't skew gun death statistics any more than they already are with all the liberal popping their tops and shooting up schools.

>>
>>2725262
you're being awfully specific, dude. Do you have anything you need to get off your chest? you're awfully fixated on sucide and being ostracized by friends.
Try to be less clingy and chill out and your friends will call back i'm sure. If they don't then they probably aren't very good friends. Get off the internet and out more. It does wonders for your psyche. If you just get out there and relax everything will be fine. If that doesn't help you should probably get psychological help.

Why are you trying to get in on a conversation that doesn't concern you? Did your ID change or are you just nosy, I mean If you also feel like everyone you know and love would be happier reading your obituary then you can take my advice too. This honestly just started off with me trying to convince some self-important guy who read some reddit writers story to kill himself because the kid couldn't get over the fact that his "100% Donut Steel Favorite Life Proxy Author" gave consent to OP let him use his setting for a quest on 4chan and need a trigger warning in every post.

Dunno, i don't really think about depressing stuff. Talking to you probably counts as doing that though.
But seriously, get off the internet more. I can tell by your obsessive political paranoia that you've been cut off from the world outside for years now. Just go out and talk to people, and you'll see that there's no national conspiracy to take your guns. People just want to live in peace and be left alone, and no ones out to get you
>>
>>2725375
Wow, you umm you really went whole hog with that. Seriously most gun owners aren't as paranoid as the strawman you have set up for yourself. Maybe you should do something productive with that Bachelors Degree in Psychology instead of just projecting onto other strangers on the internet. I mean I may be a different political view than you and have had different life experiences, but your desire to kill yourself is so overpowering that it is almost sad.

I personally believe in you, that in your reddit-safe home with your smalt salt shaker, you can somehow find some way to off yourself.

Did you know that consuming roughly 2.5kg of salt is fatal because of sodium poisoning! If you up it to like 3-4kg it will definitely be fatal! I am sure that I have produced atleast half a kg of salt at this point among all these anons. So just go chew on a salt lick or use Alexis to pour exactly the lethal amount of salt into your gob.

Whichever you prefer.
