So… we’ll be continuing this for now. No promises on consistent updates through the week but I’ll try. Give me another reason to try and get enough sleep at least.

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Sekirei+Quest%2C+Collective+Game%2C+Guide

Name: Hatsu Toyoaki

Position: Special Advisor to the Director of MBI on Security. (You clean up MBI’s dirty laundry.)

Sekirei: Akitsu (Temp.)

Wealth: Average. (This is more of a general guideline than anything solid and reflects the average of Hatsu’s position in society rather than any particular amount of money. Nor will I let you go completely broke unless something major happens, Hatsu’s been played responsible enough to maintain reserves for food and board.)

Gear: Cellphone, company issue, high tech and damage resistant. .45 pistol, 2x reloads. Nice car. Nice suit. Very nice sunglasses. Snark.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

2. A decent sized wardrobe. More variety, somewhat of a range between casual and formal. You won’t be saving money but it won’t break the bank.

Your name is Hatsu Toyoaki and at the moment you are buying clothes from the absolutely best place you know of and can afford for the espaced alien you picked up in the park yesterday. Strange origins not withstanding, Akitsu is wearing some not all that great fitting items you had in your place. You don’t know how long she’s going to be staying with you but you do know she was less than eager to return to MBI tower when you asked her about it. So it would probably behoove you to get more than just one or two sets of clothes for her.

“I’d like a range of clothes for her, she’s only got what she’s wearing at the moment. Perhaps a weeks worth with a little variety. Day and night clothes.”

The majordomo, as that’s the only way you can think of the man, nods.

“Of course sir. Ma’am, if you’ll come this way...” he gestures towards a backroom.

Akitsu glances at you, some nerves clear in her eyes.

“I’ll be right here.” You point to the waiting table closest to the door they’re leading her towards. “They won’t hurt you, just do some measuring to get some new clothes.”

Akitsu nods to you, nerves clearing up and allows herself to be led away.

“Is there anything I can get you while you wait sir?”

“Just some tea if you would.”

“Of course.”
>>
>>2709054
You wait roughly an hour before Akitsu is finally led back to your waiting area, having sipped on tea and made a few emails or calls on your phone while you did so. Work is going well and your direct subordinates are competent enough they only send you things you actually need to deal with.

“Sir.” You look up as one of the tailors assigned to Akitsu comes out first.

“Yes?”

“We’re finished with the measuring and first outfit if you’d like to come see.”

“Of course.” Even if you aren’t all that terribly interested in women’s fashion, you still need to check for politeness sake since you’re buying. Akitsu is probably a bit nervous too and it’ll do you good to make sure she’s ok.

You’re led back into an elaborate fitting room, much like the ones you’ve been in before. The darkwood interior is shiny and clean, with the only things out of place being a few items of clothing. Of course you barely notice any of this and instead are focused on Akitsu.

Gone is the ill fitting top and bottom. Instead Akitsu stands before you looking like a high class secretary. If said secretary also moonlighted as a model in her spare time. A perfectly fitted blouse and skirt combo along with matching shoes and a suit jacket top now adorn Akitsu. It looks like they even took some time to help her get her hair slightly more in shape.

Akitsu herself is nervous looking, red in the face though she looks up at you as you enter.

“Is it up to your standards sir?” Asks the tailor.

1. Yes, it’s appropriate.

2. You’ve done very well, Akitsu looks perfect.

3. Let out a low whistle.

You take in the vision in front of you again and smile to Akitsu, giving the tailor a nod a second later.

“You’ve done very well.” The tailor puts on a polite smile and nods her head in return.

“Thank you sir.”

You look back to Akitsu and find her still waiting on you for some reason.

“You look very nice Akitsu.” You don’t want to overwhelm her with flattery but she does look very good in those clothes.

You see her face flush some more but instead of looking down meekly she instead raises herself a little bit, showing off just how form fitting that new outfit is even while it moves with her. A small smile appears on her face. She’s nearly preening.

“If you’d like sir we can let you go with this and send the rest to the usual address?” The tailor is still by your side and you look to her.

“I think that would work out well for all.” You nod to her and she does the same.

“Very well sir, I hope you enjoyed your visit.”

“It was very productive.”

Akitsu has stepped off the platform in the meantime and is now standing next to you once again. You catch her looking at you out of the corner of your eye and when she sees you looking back at her she smile again.

You’re both politely led out of the store the same way you came in, having seen nobody else aside from the employees.

You’re let out onto the street, now looking like a man and his secretary or perhaps two business people coming from lunch no that the submissive bend in Akitsu’s shoulders has dropped away.

Now you’ve got Akitsu properly dressed for the day and more clothes coming later. Toiletries are mostly ok and you may need to ask about those at MBI if there’s anything special you need. Akitsu wait’s by your side.

1. Go out for lunch, it’s a little early but you’ll both be well fed and you can either drop Akitsu off or head to work afterwards.

2. Go back to your place. You can cook lunch there and Akitsu will be easy to drop off.

3. Head to work. You may need to keep Akitsu calm for a bit but you won’t keep her there. Lunch will be in a few hours.

Looking at the time and knowing that while you’re not extraordinarily busy your bosses would certainly appreciate you being close at hand and doing some of the more mundane and ordinary things that fill your schedule, you decide that you should probably skip a long lunch and head in with something a bit more portable. The only thing that you have to deal with aside from that is Akistu. Looking her over once more you certainly could bring her with you to work, as long as she would be ok with the MBI tower.

“Akitsu, I need to head back to work now.” You turn and look at the woman.

“Ah...” She responds, looking down a little bit.

“I can take you back to my place if you’d like but I’d have to leave you there. The other option is you can come with me to MBI tower.”

Akitsu stiffens at that, though her eyes move back up to yours.

“...I don’t want to go back to the labs.” The quiet strength with which she says the words is remarkable, as is the lack of hesitation.

“I wasn’t planning on it but I’ll make sure you don’t have to go.” You reassure her and she nods.

“I will go with you.” Akitsu straightens and you nod.

“Alright, lets go grab some lunches and we’ll head to MBI.”

Akitsu follows you back to your car and you begin your journey to MBI once more, stopping briefly to grab a couple lunches from one of the conbini’s that you enjoy. Akitsu gets a little bit stiffer as you pull up to MBI tower but she follows you in without complaint.

You get few looks as you move through MBI, Akitsu following you without comment and her hair covering the tattoo on her forehead making you look like you both fit in. You get an elevator to yourselves thanks to executive privilege and you hit the button for…

1. Your office, you should probably clear out any extra emails and do some paperwork.

2. Go report directly to Mr. Oshida now that you’re back.

3. Go see if the Director has anything for you.

You press the button for your office, even if you may want to go someplace else. Movies and stories involving people in your line of work are filled with near constant daring do, plotting and high speed chases between hero and villain all ending up in a climax where the case is solved and the girl swoons. Unfortunately real life isn’t much like that. Most of your days are spent up in your office, doing paperwork of some kind or another.

Akitsu is quiet as you rise in the elevator, having not been out of the labs before she clearly doesn’t know how high your office compared to them. Your office is just in the rarified heights of MBI’s executive offices, more so your bosses can get to you without unduly inconveniencing themselves than any need of your own. You find it to be somewhat tedious to get there since it’s even higher up than the labs.

Thankfully MBI tower is a very modern building and the elevator ride doesn’t last all that long. When the door opens up to a plushly carpeted floors with artwork and plants along the walls, Akitsu visibly relaxes. You lead your way to your office, Akitsu looking around as you do so. Your office is relatively plain, a few pictures of places you visited on legitimate business trips and one or two pictures of friends in appropriate situations. You don’t actually have a permanent secretary, as most of the people who are competent enough to get clearances for the things you do at your level are competent enough you usually feel good promoting them after a year or so.

You point to the slightly smaller desk that sits in front of and off to the side of yours.

“You can sit there Akitsu. The computer should work if you want to try looking around on it.”

Akitsu nods, heading to the indicated chair.

You head to your own chair, custom fitted for comfort and support and plop down in it. Booting up your PC, you get to work with your emails and assorted paperwork which is mostly electronic thankfully. Between that and your lunch, time quickly passes. You look up a few times to see Akitsu poking at the PC in front of her. Something must be keeping her occupied.
>>
>>2709687
Just as you’re deciding to stop for a quick break, the door to your office bursts open suddenly and in sweeps the Director. You blink suddenly and move to stand, only to be waved down by the overly energetic man in the pure white suit.

“Hatsu, it’s good to see you again!” The director turns and looks at Akitsu. “It appears that you’ve been taking very good care of Akitsu-chan. Is that...” He leans forward and then grins. “Wow! You really went all out for her Hatsu. You must really care for her.”

You blink, trying to keep up with the rapid fire speech of the man who created MBI from the ground up. Akitsu blushes, the snow woman pinking nicely at the directors words.

“Uh… yes Director. Is there something I can do for you?”

“Oh, no! I was just coming in to check on Akitsu chan. You are doing well aren’t you Akitsu?”

“Yes Director. Hatsu-sama is...” Akitsu pauses for several second. “Hatsu-sama is being very good to me.”

“Good, good!” The Director smiles even wider before turning back to you.

“Now, Hatsu, since you’re doing so well for me is there anything I can do for you?”

1. No sir, everything is going well. Thank you for the offer though.

2. Ask the Director for….? (Limited write in.)

Thinking on the directors offer you simply can’t find anything reasonable to ask of him. You’re paid very well, your department is well funded and while you do know the Director you don’t know him well enough you’d feel comfortable asking for something personal. Instead you turn the question around.

“Is there anything you want from the Director Akitsu?” You honestly weren’t thinking much of the question but Akitsu’s eyes suddenly light up and she blushes, glancing between you and Minaka like she’s looking for something.

“Oh, Akitsu-chan, you know you can ask me for anything!” Minaka is exuberant as always, though this time he seems genuinely interested in what Akitsu might want.

Akitsu flushes more and then her face starts to clear somewhat.

“I… I want Hatsu to be my Ashikabi.” Akitsu’s voice is a mix of pleading and hopeful, a hope that hangs seemingly entirely on you as her piercing blue-gray eyes meet your own.

Minaka’s face brightens even more than it already is, his smile widening as he turns to you.

“Well Akitsu, I can’t make him become your Ashikabi but I certainly approve of it! It’s all up to Hatsu but if he says yes I’ll make sure it’s recorded immediately!”

Now both of them are looking at you. The director is simply intensely interested in your response. Akitsu’s eyes are almost pleading, yet you know she’d simply settle down if you said no.

1. Accept responsibility as Akitsu’s Ashikabi.

2. You don’t think that’s for you. She’s nice but you’re not ready to be a husband.

3. Uhm… can you get some time?

1. Normally Sekirei's just "find" their Ashikabi's genetically or some shit that's never fully explained.

2. He didn't really have a whole lot of say in the matter given he starts as a standard spineless wimp and his Sekirei kisses him.

Even if you didn’t know anything at all about what the hell an Ashikabi is, the simple intensity of Akitsu’s eyes on yours would tell you this is very important. Since what you do know about Ashikabi’s is best described as a cross between a husband, mate and a genetically bonded partner, this is not some little whim of Akitsu’s, not that she’s had too many things you would’ve called “whims” in the short day you’ve known her more closely than simply being in the labs. If it had been a human asking something like this you could’ve easily said no or slow down. Now…

“Are you sure Akitsu? I haven’t done anything all that special. All I did was the right thing, what anyone should have done. I know how big a deal an Ashikabi is for Sekirei.”

You’d swear Akitsu was about to break down and cry but instead her voice is as steady as you’ve ever heard it, even if there is wetness at the corners of her eyes.

“I am sure Hatsu-sama. You are kind and you are warm to me. You have cared for me, fed me and clothed me.” She looks down at her clothes. “You have done so much more than what anyone else has done for me. If...” She swallows something back, something bitter that almost immediately is washed away by the rest of her feelings. “If I could react properly I am sure you would be my Ashikabi.” She pauses and swallows, two trails of liquid running down her face. “Please… please become my Ashikabi Hatsu-sama.”

She’s certainly thought this through. There’s no denying that she’s very clearly emotionally invested as well. You know enough about her to know she can’t be properly… “winged” was the term they’re using now. Yet she clearly wants this to be the real thing. The least you can do is match her feelings.
>>
>>2710005
“Ok Akitsu.” At this point you can’t deny her feelings. “I will be your Ashikabi.”

“Thank you Hatsu-sama. Thank you.” The desperation in her eyes flees and all you can see is hope… and what you’re pretty sure is love. Love is one of the few things in life you don’t have a ton of experience with.

“That’s wonderful Akitsu!” Minaka finally breaks in, his eyes wide and his patented brilliant smile on his face. “I’m sure Hatsu will keep taking good care of you! I’ll go get the paperwork started, you two make sure to complete the ceremony properly!” The Director strolls out of your office in bright spirits.

Complete the ceremony… oh. Normally a Sekirei meets there Ashikabi and then… “exchange of genetic material between mucousal contact occurs.” Which is a scientific way of saying they kiss properly on the lips.

Akitsu is still looking at you, her eyes locked to you in some joyous happiness. Since she can’t actually be winged you don’t need to kiss her, there will be no activation of powers. Yet… you said you’d be her Ashikabi. Not a pretender.

1. Kiss Akitsu, it’ll clearly mean a lot to her even if it is ceremonial.

2. You already took a big step right here, you can slow down a bit and kiss her later.

3. You said you’d be her Ashikabi. You didn’t say anything else about intimacy.

the kiss is the ceremony. normally it permanently binds Sekirei and Ashikabi, but Akitsu got a little fucked up when the scientist happened to her. If we're lucky there's a way to help her with the issue sometime down the road

You know, having a damaged core is really bad for Akitsu, but there's at least one upside
She gets to actually fall in love instead of having it all happen with a kiss
>>
>>2710067
I'm a Karasuba fan, But honestly I'd say I'd be fine if we went monogamous.
>>
>>2710067
That is a positive at least
>>2710073
You're not the only one, I think the majority of voters might actually go for monogamy.
>>
>>2710082
If we do, I'll be irrationally proud
I'm still not expecting it, but I'm definitely willing to try for a monogamy end
>>
>>2710084
It would be something at least. If it happens naturally, then I'm down with it. It would be really cool to actually play out the plan with only a single Sekirei and Akitsu is a good girl.
>>
>>2710121
My only concern is that apparently some of the other girls are condemned to horrible fates.
>>
>>2710125
we can help that without winging them
>>
>>2710125

Or help them find decent Ashikabi's

You aren’t sure if you can claim you love Akitsu yet, this is all happening very suddenly and it’s a somewhat nebulous concept to you. You do know you care for her quite a bit, even after just one day with her. You don’t quit, you don’t half ass anything else in life so you aren’t going to start now.

“Akitsu.” You stand and step from behind your desk.

“Yes Hatsu-sama.” Her tone if anything, is even more submissive than before, though clearly happy.

“Stand up Akitsu.” If you’re going to do this you’re going to do this the best way you know how.

Akitsu stands as you approach, her height making it a much more even match than with most women you’ve been with. Her face is warm as you approach and her eyes hold a mix you can’t truly even decipher at the moment.

So you don’t even bother, you simply lean in towards her, your hand coming up to the back of her head. Akitsu melts against you. There is no hesitation in her body, no holding back. The curves you’ve done your best to ignore or at least not take advantage of over the past day press willingly against you and her lips are hot and wet as you kiss her.

You aren’t really sure how long the kiss lasts, you aren’t paying attention to the time, merely the woman in your arms. As you break the kiss, Akitsu’s mouth falls from yours, though you’re rather sure she’d have kept hers to you until you both passed out.

“There, now we’re properly Ashikabi and Sekirei.”
“Yes Ashikabi-sama.” Akitsu’s definitely in love now, her voice certainly sounds like it.

You smile at her.

“You can just call me Hatsu Akitsu.”

“Yes… Hatsu.” Akitsu smiles more than just that tiny quirk and leans her head against your shoulder. Your hand follows and you hold her close. It feels… right.

It's pretty simple on the face of it. The Sekirei Plan(tm) is basically a giant survival game between the Sekirei and their Ashikabi, with the city acting as the battlefield. The winner gets a wish.

>>
>>2711156
It wasn’t a lot, that is for sure. You would think they would have had a more balanced ratio on the ship, but nope. Though I guess what with the genetics that can forcibly change a sekirei’s gender to match their supposed mate, maybe it was never an issue of the original sekirei culture.
>>
>>2711156
There are 4 named male sekirei. Mutsu(005), Homura(006), Amebane(013), and Shiina(107).
But we only see a little over half of all sekirei throughout the series, so there could be more in the 50 or so sekirei that spent the whole story off screen.

Really? First thing that pops up for me says unisex, predominately male, also used as a surname. Everything following either supports that or talks about specific characters.
Mostly Madoka's Homura, who's so ludicrously popular she seems to be skewing results. Every suggested question I get from searching is related back to that one character.

Got winged prematurely cause someone messed up her core. She's still strong but nerfed compared to her potential. Also broken bird due to it.
>>
>>2712548
Aww. There's no way to help her with that?
>>
>>2712553
She fled the labs and never ever went back in the series. Maybe.
>>
>>2712553
In canon, she eventually grew enough of a spine to overcome her depression and let her Ashikabi wing her. But that also would have killed her if the deus ex machina at the end hadn't brought most of the dead Sekirei back to life

to find a better solution, we'd have to get her to the labs, and she's against that on account of almost getting raped by one of the scientists
>>

Could that be what damaged her core? Or did that happen already?
>>
>>2712585

>>
>>2712648
Yes, and that fic can fuck right off.
>>
>>2712645
Yume's death didn't make her more murderous. It made her nihilistic and willing to get winged by Natsuo, so they could burn the world together.
>>
>>2712653
It had its problem but overall was a pretty solid experience. Up until the last 1/3 and ending, characters were on point.
>>
>>2712673
>its problems
You mean like mediocre prose, painfully bad plotting that mostly consists of slavishly going through the stations of canon, an incredibly poor understanding of the Fate half of the crossover, and an arrogant author who refuses to take criticism no matter how politely worded and whose fans create a hugbox to further shield him from it?
Gabriel Blessing is an overly lauded hack.
Fuck him.
>>
>>2712822
Things fell apart around the ending but before that, the slice of life and characters were generally on point and interesting to read. Girls were fun, it what seemed to be boring day-to-day managed to be compelling and the birds got nice enough focus. The problems were injecting far too much Nasuism and all these fucking expositions taking 1/2 a chapter alongside waving off the importance of the Sekirei setting.

It's not that bad. The beginning and the middle stages are much, much better than the end.
>>
>>2712861
Except he constantly, and endlessly, fucks up those Nasuisms.
The man is incapable of writing Shirou without turning him into a bad self-insert power fantasy.
It was even WORSE in Hill of Swords, where he had to bullshit up a mental gymnastics explanation for how the fuck his bullshit lead was supposed to be Shirou in spite of basically acting nothing like him, but it's still present in In Flight.
>>
>>2712875
Yep, I fully agree with you on that. I really, really liked the birds and how he handled them but everything doing with the Nasuverse became irritating despite the fact that it brought great tension. He fucked up on this point, but there's still some genuinely good stuff in the story.

The girls, who unfortunately became less important as time went on.
>>
Hol up...I just have an ephipany!

Why the fuck are there no Sekrei Gacha game? They could make millions!
>>
>>2713153
Mostly because it's no longer relevant. The manga finished publishing in 2015, and nothing else has come out from that direction afaik.
It could work and turn out a profit but they would have to pull a Grand Order and change the setting around a bit. Seeing as it's not as popular as Fate they likely just don't want to put the effort.
>>
>>2713197
Wait the manga finished in 2015? Huh, I thought it finished much earlier than that.
>>
>>2713197
>Mostly because it's no longer relevant. The manga finished publishing in 2015, and nothing else has come out from that direction afaik.

As much as you wanted to spend a bit more time with Akitsu, you were still at work. She seemed much happier and didn’t mind when you pulled away. The mere fact that you accepted her, as fully as you could, seemed to be all that was needed to make her content. You went back to work with a warm if slightly funny feeling in your stomach. You’re not sure if it’s nerves, affection or something else completely but you categorize it, ponder it for a bit and then ignore it while you work. Things like that are best digested fully at your leisure and not on company time.

Instead you double down on your work, especially since the Director himself came to visit you. You manage another few hours of work before your phone rings. Surprisingly, Akitsu picks it up before you do, as the secretary’s phone was still set to work after your last one left.

“Hatsu Toyoaki’s office.” You wonder where she learned proper phone procedure. “Hold.”

not lethally
wing 'em and have a gun pointed at them, and their Sekirei will surrender
>>
>>2715676
Actually I'm not sure what the manga or anime said about ashikabi dealing with other ashikabi.
Is it against the rules? I know sekirei can't kill ashikabi. Moreover, just how much has MBI taken over the city.
Are they the new law in the city or can ashikabi still be arrested by regular cops. Can you answer any of these questions, Guide?
>>
>>2715676
I mean, if they try something, I'm just sayin' it's wise to have a weapon or two at the ready
>>
>>2715715
In self defense sure, I have no worries there. That’s just us protecting ourselves at that point.
>>
>>2715704
The resident über-Nihilist mentions it in one scene of the manga. If you kill an Ashikabi, their Sekirei will also be terminated.

Natsuo (the Nihilist) even questions why Minato doesn't try anything since they're right next to each other and neither are armed. Minato, being the idealist he is, refuses any action and I'm pretty sure doesn't get any chance to after they're forced to separate.
>>
>>2715704
So, Sekirei don't really die unless their core gets shattered, if that's kntact they recover in time or with a lot of help
But if an Ashikabi dies, it triggers a chain reaction that kills every Sekirei bonded to them
>>
>>2715704
Nothing was said one way or the other and it's somewhat implied Higa blackmailed a few people or threatened them.

You could probably get away with quite a bit given your position, though you might be called to answer at work.

“Yume wishes to speak with you.” Akitsu looks at you, her eyes somewhat unreadable.

“I’ll take her.” You pause, then smile at her. “Thank you for taking my calls.”

Akitsu’s cheeks turn slightly red. “You’re welcome.” She picks up the handset and speaks to Yume. “Transferring.”

You wait until your phone rings and then you pick it up.

“Hatsu Toyoaki speaking.” You keep your voice level,

“Hatsu!” Yume’s voice comes over the line, clearly excited. “Is it true? Did you wing her?”

“I didn’t wing her no.” You keep your voice down, though it’s clear Akitsu can hear you. “I am her Ashikabi. Fully and truly.” That makes Akitsu relax and you can hear breathing on Yume’s side of the line.

“That’s great!” Yume doesn’t seem to care that you didn’t actually wing Akitsu, simply happy you took responsibility. “Did you ask Minaka to take care of her after she ran away?”

“Actually she asked for me to be her Ashikabi. I accepted.”

“Did you kiss her?”

You pause on that one, wondering if you should answer. In the end you decide it won’t hurt, especially since Yume seems to know everything shortly after it happens anyway.

“Yes. She seemed happy about it.”

Yume nearly squeals on the other side of the line, though you’re pretty sure she did and simply pulled the phone away on her side.

“That’s amazing! You just keep saving us Sekirei Hatsu.”

“The first two were just the job Yume.”

“You always say that but you still care. Doing what you did for Akitsu proves it.”

“Perhaps.” Yume has always treated you like a savior, even though at first you didn’t know what you were defending.

“Anyway, since you’re Akitsu’s Ashikabi I want to come visit, if that’s ok with you.”

Yume’s visited you on a few occasions over the years, mostly to talk or due to your work. She used to be on the Disciplinary squad back in the day, though she’s recently quit and focused more on the upcoming Sekirei plan and making sure her brothers and sisters get winged properly.

We are, but why would choosing 2 be detrimental to the monogamy route?
>>
>>2715770
I don't think it'll trigger anything, man
IIRC, Yume never really wanted to find love herself, just wanted to make sure all the other Sekirei were free and happy and in love. Something about being an agent of destiny
>>
>>2715756
4. You can either visit while we are on break or later at the apartment, we're working right now
>>
>>2715756
>2. You could come visit my apartment later. Akitsu and I are working at the moment.
>>2715770
We could just be firm and just treat it like the friendship it is.
>>2715781
I assume anon is paranoid in that this will trigger a flag. Not to say paranoia is bad, got to have some. Just have to see past some of the paranoia and be friendly.
>>
>>2715770
I just wanted to take our current work seriously...
>>
>>2715784
Yume also committed suicide by sacrifice because she couldn't have an Ashikabi. So there wasn't a whole lot of hope there.

Anyway, looks like inviting her over to your place later.

Writing.
>>
You know what this will actually set off?
Yume's just going to show up in our house randomly with alcohol, and has probably already decided she will be the vodka aunt to our children so Kazehana can't call it
>>
>>2715698
If we wing the Ashikabi, do we get their Sekirei as well, or do they still serve their Ashikabi who serves us?

Also, it's said in thread that Akitsu winged herself and that's bad? What *exactly* does winging do?
>>
>>2715826
I meant wing 'em with a gun, whoops. Should have pointed out the pun

Winging a Sekirei basically marks an Ashikabi and Sekirei as soulmates. It also lets Ashikabi power up Sekirei by kissing them.
By winging herself, Akitsu prevented herself from being bonded to the guy who tried to rape her, but also cut herself off from being winged by anyone else she's 'supposed to' be with. In the other Sekireis' eyes, and her own because she's got a pretty bad inferiority complex, she's broken and can't find love
>>
>>2715836
Holy shit, that's sad
It's been really long sing a saw anything related to Sekirei
>>
>>2715826
>>2715842

I'm pretty sure that Ashikabi cannot wing other Ashikabi. It's like a Pokemon trainer trying to catch another trainer in their pokeball.

What winging does is essentially bond a Sekirei to their respective Ashikabi like a marraige vow and allows the Sekirei to use their ultimate attack, or Norito. The deeper the bond between Ashikabi and Sekirei, the stronger the Norito.

Akitsu didn't wing herself, it's possible for unwinged Sekirei to use their powers, it's just she was experimented on so much to the point where she either cannot be winged or if she does it'll overload and kill her.

That's exactly what happens in the manga, too. Mikogami managed to wing her and allow her to use her Norito, but as a result she basically terminated herself. She doesn't show up in the epilogue, either.
>>
>>2715842
>>2715855
Could we get (Read make) the techs unfuck her so we can wing her properly?

You look at your watch, you’ve gotten through most of it but there’s still a decent enough chunk left that you don’t want to waste it.

“Well since I’m still working at the moment I’d suggest that you come over to my place afterwards. Akitsu will be there and we’ll have plenty of time to talk uninterrupted.”

“Alright Hatsu, I won’t keep bugging you at work. You’re still at the same place as last time right?”

“Haven’t moved since then. Code’s the same if you get there before we do.”

“I don’t think I will but thanks for letting me know. Later.”

“See you then Yume.”

The line disconnects and you look up at Akitsu, who is looking your way.

“Yume wanted to inquire on the both of us. I told her a bit and then she asked to come over. I told her she could come over to our place later.”

Akitsu blinks twice and then turns red.

“Is… that not ok?” You’re not sure why she’s red, it could be any number of things.

“Oh… no it’s fine.” She looks at you carefully. “...Our place.” She points between the both of you.

Oh. That makes more sense.

“Yes Akitsu. Our place. Yours and mine. You are living there now after all.”

Akitsu gets a small smile on her face at that.

The rest of the day passes by relatively normally, with Akitsu taking a few more calls for you and doing quite well, the rest of the time spent looking at her computer.

After you finish one last email to Mr. Oshida, you shut down your computer and begin to pack up for the day. Akitsu notices and does the same, her computer shutting down as she stands and waits for you to finish.

“What were you looking at all day?” You ask casually, somewhat curious as to what she was doing all day.

“MBI manual for executive assistants.” Akitsu’s voice is level, though you can tell she’s looking towards you.

You’re somewhat surprised at that, though perhaps you shouldn’t have been.

“Well, you’re doing a good job already.” You make sure to put your genuine appreciation in your tone, it’s quite something to be doing on her own.

“Thank you Ashikabi-sama.” Akitsu puts her head down somewhat, though you can hear in her voice that she’s happy you’re pleased.

You make it down to your car and Akitsu climbs in beside you, her presence already becoming somewhat normal. You pull out and begin the journey home, though you’ve got plenty of time for a stop.

1. Head straight home.

2. Pick up some food, Akitsu is eating quite a bit and you’re having a guest over.

3. Stop by the gym for a bit.

4. Other?

Depends on two things: 1) Akitsu handling going anywhere near the labs and 2) how bad she was fucked up. It's entirely possible she's past the point of no return. The only reason she lasted as long as she did in canon is because she's a single number, which makes her objectively stronger than 95% of the remaining Sekirei.

Still hoping we can talk her into letting the labs at least look at her. Promise her that if they try anything we'll shoot them.

M5.

The M5 is for teaching Akitsu to drive.
>>
>>2717106
Think of it the other way:
we put all the essential expenses on the MBI card, like food, and save our paycheck which is gotta be substantial considering our position. We can get the car with the savings and technically don't break any rule.

Also is it better than a Silenced flash suppressed Semi-auto 50. cal Sniper rifle?
>>

SR-3 would be a better fit for our line of work. Hide it under a bulky coat.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SR-3_Vikhr
>>
>>2717198
Well, a VSS is infinitely more practical.
A Barrett M82 weighs thirty pounds, EMPTY, and is so large and unwieldy as to only be really usable from a rest. A VKS/VSSK weighs half that, and is 4 inches shorter WITH the suppressor.
Silencing .50 cal is mostly pointless, as the round's velocity and mass mean there will be a SIGNIFICANT sonic boom from the bullet itself, whereas the VKS's 12.7x55 STs-130 is inherently subsonic, no sonic boom.
A VKS is bolt action, but with this kind of weapon semi-auto is kinda pointless anyway since you need to reacquire the target after firing.

As you pull out of MBI, you remember that you were supposed to hit the gym yesterday until you got sidetracked by work. Well, sidetracked isn’t the right wording. Work has been pulling you away from workouts for years, you’ve just made it a policy to make sure to get them in at some point. Today probably won’t be the best for a full workout but you can go work up a sweat before you head back to your place.

“We’re going to stop by a new place for a bit Akitsu.” You Sekirei turns to look at you with all of her attention. “I’m going to the gym for a little bit. I need to keep in shape.”

Akitsu nods in assent, though you aren’t really sure if she fully understands or not. Either way it doesn’t matter as you drive the both of you to an out of the way though well taken care of gym. It’s on the smaller side but that’s again a matter of clientele. Some people enjoy a bit of privacy and are willing to pay for it, just like you. MBI’s gym is fine but it’s nice to not have to be ready to immediately switch back to work mode in the middle of a workout.

You mount your machines after a bit of explaining to Akitsu that no, she cannot follow you into the mens locker room. Other than that it takes no time at all to get back into your rhythm. There are a few people around you, including Akitsu watching. You’d offer to let her join except for the fact the only clothes she has are the ones she’s wearing and they’re very unsuited for workouts. Judging by her looks you’ll need to make sure she has some next time you come.

During your workout you…

1. Focus. Get in, work up a sweat, get cleaned up and get out. Workouts aren’t for socializing.

2. Try to push yourself a bit, you might be getting a bit older but that’s no reason not to try.

3. Look around, see if you notice anyone interesting this time.

4. Other?

You decide, as normal, that if you aren’t pushing yourself to be a little bit better than last time you might as well not be trying at all. Plenty of men at your age and your level of fitness would be happy to simply maintain but you aren’t. Between your job and your general attitude on life you couldn’t stand knowing you could’ve tired that extra bit harder but didn’t.

Akitsu stands nearby, watching as you work up a good sweat. You aren’t the most bulky guy in the gym but you’ve never wanted to be. Flexibility and endurance are just as important to you as raw power and you make sure you do all sorts of workouts. It’s given you a toned body that many twenty year old college students would still envy, even if you do cover it up most of the time with a suit and tie.

By the time you’re nearly finished you look up and see Akitsu still looking at you… though her cheeks are showing more color than is their norm. If you hadn’t just become her Ashikabi you might have missed it… but you’re pretty sure she’s enjoying watching you work. Good to know.

After a proper cooldown and then a quick shower you make your way back out of the locker room to find Akitsu waiting for you, seemingly returned to normal. You give her a smile and she bows her head in return, though there’s something in her eyes that makes yours remain on your face.

“Did you accomplish what you set out to do Hatsu-sama?” Akitsu’s deceptively soft voice carries over the sound of your engine starting as you pull out of the parking spot.

“I did Akitsu. Got another two reps in compared to last time. I’ve still got it.”

Akitsu just nods as you wait to pull out into traffic.

1. Go straight home. You should be ok on food for the night, though you’ll certainly need to pick some up for tomorrow.

2. Go pick up some food now, you’ll be able to plan a bit and Yume shouldn’t be kept waiting.

You decide that since you’re having not just one but two Sekirei over, that it might be best to go and stock up on food. Especially since Akitsu will be living with you for… well no it’s probably forever, since you’re her Ashikabi. You’re pretty sure that hasn’t sunk in fully yet. You’ve had a few guests at times, one or two relationships that got to the living together stage but… this is certainly more permanent.

“We’re going to stop at the supermarket and get some food.” You turn out into traffic while you speak to Akitsu, plotting out the best directions between here, a decent store and your apartment. You make surprisingly good time, enough so that you think you’ll still make it to your apartment before Yume shows up.

Even the shopping goes well, you find several good deals that allow you to pick up more than enough food for multiple Sekirei, even some normally rather expensive meat. It’ll go well for Yume as a guest or just for you and Akitsu. As you check out Akitsu helps with your bags, letting you pay so you can both get out even faster. It’s as you’re walking out of the store that you decide it’s been a good day, even if it was quite weird.

Of course that’s when Yume falls out of the sky, nearly landing on your car. Being a Sekirei moving at full power, she manages to crater the ground, roll out of the way of a spinning buzzsaw and then leap to her feet only to stop as she see’s you and Akitsu standing in front of her.

“Hatsu! You have to leave! There’s some...”

Four Sekirei come jumping to the ground, spreading out behind Yume.

You recognize two of them, numbers 16 and 18. Then there are two more with some strange knife weapons who you don’t recognize, meaning they’re high numbers. Akitsu instinctively bristles, taking a step from beside you to in front.

You twitch, the four Sekirei looking between them at the sudden interruption of you and Akitsu between their chase.

“Hatsu you should go, I can get away from them.” Yume speaks again, though it draws the attention of the Sekirei in front of you.

“Move out of the way, we have no business with you.” Number 16’s voice is harsh, though it seems she either doesn’t remember you and Akitsu or doesn’t care.

1. Get out of the way, if Yume thinks she can get away she can get away.

2. Tell the Sekirei to leave, on threat of MBI intervention.

3. Have Akitsu help Yume. Between the two of them you’re sure they can at least drive the four off.

Glancing between Yume, Akitsu and the other four Sekirei, you decide that playing a neutral party or at least something approaching one, is what you need for now. You cough to clear your throat, causing the Sekirei in front of you to turn and look at you.

“I don’t have any business with you either.” You speak, keeping your voice calm and collected, though not weak in any manner. “I do however have business with Yume here.”

“You’ll need to cancel it.” One of the Sekirei you don’t remember speaks up, causing you to turn and smile wanly.

“I don’t think I can. Given that it’s MBI business.” That certainly gets their attention. The four of them look between each other, then between you, Akitsu and Yume.

“You...” the same Sekirei starts up again, only to be stopped by number 16.

“Stop.” Number 16 looks you over again and then looks at Akitsu. Then she looks to Yume.

“I remember you.” Her eyes lock onto yours once more, her hands caress her staff. “You’re Minaka’s cleanup man.”

“That’s me.” You smile at her.

She looks between Akitsu, focusing on her forehead and then at Yume.

“Lets go.” She turns to leave.

“But...” The argumentative Sekirei starts again, only to be interrupted by 16.

“I said we’re leaving.” 16 leaps away, followed by 16 and then the other Sekirei. Left alone, the pale haired argumentative one grunts in frustration and leaps away after her sisters.

You wait to let out a breath until you’re sure they’re gone. Then you turn to Yume, who gives you a tight smile.

“Well, that’s over.” You try to make light of what just happened but you’re pretty sure that you were within a hairsbreadth of a fight.

“You’re as brave as always Hatsu.” She gives a brief chuckle.

1. Ask her what was happening with all that.

2. Invite her back to your place for dinner, she can explain as she likes.

3. Ask her if she should head back to MBI, you aren’t sure how long they’ll stay gone.

With the other Sekirei gone, you quickly recover, giving Yume a nod and gesturing to your car.

“Perhaps, though maybe I just know when to bluff. In either case, could I offer you a ride? You did want to come over and visit.”

Yume looks to your car and smiles, giving you a nod. “If you don’t mind.”

“Not at all. Akitsu lets get this all in the trunk.” It’s quick qork between the two of you and soon enough you’re once again driving back to your place, this time with Yume seated behind you as well as Akitsu in her spot next to you. Much of the trip is rather quiet, as you focus on driving the still rather busy streets of Tokyo and Yume only intermittently asks Akitsu about how she’s doing or where she got her clothes. Akitsu for her part at least uses short sentences but “I’m well” and “Hatsu took me” aren’t exactly causes for much more conversation.

Pulling into your building, Yume helps with the groceries and the three of you head up the elevator to your apartment. With the three of you in the elevator there’s somewhat of a tension, mostly coming from Yume. You’re pretty sure it’s not directed at you, given that she’s never been anything but completely polite to you, though you can’t be certain. Instead you think it’s likely that whatever happened earlier is still affecting her.

The silence continues until you make it inside your apartment, where there’s a message on your machine informing you that there’s a number of packages being held for you downstairs. You start putting the food away, judging how much you might need as you let some of the meat lay out. Akitsu and Yume both take a seat at your table with drinks at your suggestion, while you change into a more appropriate outfit for cooking and begin to make dinner.
>>
>>2726167
“So Yume, why were those other Sekirei chasing you?” You decide to cut straight to the chase, the so called Sekirei of “Love” not seeming to want to start the conversation. Though she immediately starts speaking once you ask her.

“They… they wanted to take me back to their Ashikabi!” Yume sounds more angry than upset. “They should know I can’t be winged but they didn’t care! Their Ashikabi wanted me so they were going to try and take me to him. Like I was a package or something!” Yume lets out a breath and slams one hand down onto the table, causing it to quiver. “Sorry Hatsu, I’m upset.”

“It’s fine Yume, I understand.” Given the fact that you’re quite sure Yume could turn your table into kindling with a few well placed blows, it was still rather restrained. “So they were going to try and take you to their Ashikabi.”

“Yes! One of them even said it would be like before! They’ve done it before Hatsu, that means… that means their Ashikabi probably forcibly winged the others!” Yume’s face is strained, even Akitsu’s normally rather impassive face frowning.

“He did what?” You’ve not heard of this before.

“An Ashikabi can kiss a Sekirei who isn’t even reacting to them and force them into a bond! It’s… it’s...” Yume pounds the table in front of her again. “It’s despicable.”

1. Agree with her. That sounds an awful lot like what you were trying to prevent with Akitsu.

2. Make a few neutral comments and keep working on dinner. Yume will work this out of her system eventually.

3. Doesn’t that mean they’re still in love? Does it matter that much?

“That… really does sound despicable.” You’ve done a lot of things in your life, you aren’t a saint. There are even more than just one or two things you’re not particularly proud of doing for MBI. Yet, for all you’ve done you’ve never… brainwashed somebody. Not like what you can presumably do to a Sekirei with whatever the bond does.

“I knew you’d agree!” Yume seems happy that you agree. “Sekirei are supposed to bond for love! Not for any other reason. Like you and Akitsu.” Yume smiles at that. “Right Akitsu?”

“Ah… yes.” Akitsu turns a bit red and glances at you before looking back to her glass.

Despite the fact that Akitsu isn’t saying much Yume seems pleased. It’s also pretty much the final nail that makes you absolutely certain Akitsu is in love with you. Not that there was much doubt in your mind but it seems that Sekirei only deal in big ideas. At least when it comes to love and affection.

“You must’ve been really great to Akitsu for her to ask you to be her Ashikabi Hatsu.” Yume turns around and in a switch from her previous look, is absolutely glowing.

“I just treated her like I would any of you.” You focus mostly on the cooking. “Fed her, gave her a place to sleep, bought her some clothes.” It actually sounds even less impressive when you say it like that.

“You were the first Ashikabi-sama.” Akitsu’s voice cuts into the conversation. “The first to do so. Nor did you have to give me such fine things.” She strokes at the fabric of her blouse. “Nor did you have to believe in me.”

Yume’s eyes are all dreamy now, focusing on Akitsu.

“I’m so happy for the both of you.” Yume says it truthfully, with all her heart. She’s always been open with you but this is something else. “I hope all Sekirei can find something like it.”

The conversation drifts from there into less important areas, like Akitsu’s apparently newfound fascination with cute animals. Dinner is served soon after, with both the Sekirei girls putting away vast quantities of food. You’re certainly glad you went and picked up more.

As you finish up cleaning and are all starting to relax, Yume stretches.

“Uhh… I suppose it’s time for me to head back to MBI. It’s getting late and I don’t want to keep you two up.”

You look over to Akitsu, who seems perfectly content at the moment.

1. Wish Yume a good night and see her out.

2. Ask Yume if she’d like to spend the night, given that she was attacked earlier.

3. Insist Yume spend the night, given that she was attacked earlier.

Canon never showed that or really implied anything sexual would help Akitsu or Yume, but Japan has their whole purity obsession so it could have been what the author had planned. Deeper bonds necessary or something

We'll have to find out if that's the case here or not

Yume, despite how powerful she is overall, could still be overwhelmed by a number of Sekirei. At least that’s how you think it is, you’re not exactly sure how powerful she really is given that her going all out would be… messy. Given that she wasn’t exactly tossing around her powers earlier tonight, something’s preventing her from properly defending herself. That doesn’t seem quite fair to you, not to mention that after more than a decade of knowing each other, you do consider Yume to be a friend.

You look over at Akitsu once more, who seems to pick up on the fact that you’re looking at her. She looks back, then nods almost imperceptibly to you. You aren’t sure if she actually knows what you’re asking for or not but she trusts you, that much is clear.

“Yume,” you say before she can really make a move to leave, “Why don’t you spend the night here instead? You were already attacked once today and in the dark it’s even more likely.”

Yume blinks at that, then smiles a bit. “It’s ok Hatsu, I can make my way back.”

You sigh and shake your head. “At least let me call an MBI escort for you. You’re not directly involved in the Sekirei plan yet and I’d prefer not to see you get hurt.”

Something flickers across Yume’s face, something you can’t make out but then she smiles. “Alright Hatsu. If you’re going to be like that I’ll stay the night.”

Her words cause you to grin.

“But I get the couch this time! You’ve got Akitsu to think of now.” Yume smiles in victory at that.

You blink, you hadn’t really thought of that. Akitsu offered to sleep with you last night, purely because it was your bed. Now that your her Ashikabi… it’s expected? You look at Akitsu and though her cheeks are red, she looks happy at the thought.

“Ah… alright we’ll get you setup on the couch.”

Between the three of you, getting ready for bed takes a bit of work but your couch is already setup from last night and you all cycle through the bathroom relatively quickly. It helps the girls don’t have the extended period necessary for some human women.

Soon enough you find yourself in your bedroom… with Akitsu sitting on the bed waiting for you. She doesn’t say anything, though she looks at you with interest. She’s wearing some more appropriate clothing than last night, a shirt and short combo, but she doesn’t exactly look dumpy.

1. Akitsu can sleep on the bed, you can sleep on the floor.

2. You can sleep together with Akitsu. Keyword sleep. You can control yourself.

You decide that in the end there’s no valid reason you can think of that puts you anywhere on the bed beside Akitsu. She asked, you answered and you don’t half ass anything. Not to mention you’re pretty sure that at this point Akitsu would feel much worse about herself if you didn’t. Not that it means you need to do very much, since this is a relationship you’re allowed to take your time as much as you need to move towards her.

“Move over a bit Akitsu, let me climb in.” You keep your words gentle and she complies with no complaints, scooting over until you climb in beside her. She remains facing you even as you lay down and pull the covers up over the both of you. You examine her face for a little bit, it’s undeniably beautiful even if she keeps it impassive much of the time.

“Come here Akitsu.” You reach your hand out to her and she immediately responds, moving closer to you. You place your hand on her shoulder and pull her up against you. She’s soft, incredibly so and very warm. Yet, you feel no more desire than to hold her and keep her safe for now. Given her situation it’s been clear to you that she’s very emotionally fragile and the small happy noises she makes when you pull her to you sate you more than enough for now.

You sleep well, more than well enough to make up for any exertions in the past few days or the fact that you slept on the couch last night.

You wake up with Akitsu looking at you, her face still relatively impassive but calm.

“Good morning Akitsu.”

“Good morning Hatsu.”

“Did you sleep well?”

Akitsu blushes and nods, then goes so far as to place her hand on your chest.

“I slept… very well.”

“Good.” You lean forward and press a kiss to her forehead. “Lets get ready for the day.”

You get up and find Yume has already done so, she’s leaving the shower as you exit the bedroom with Akitsu.

She smiles at the pair of you. “You look like you had a good night.”

“Yes.” Akitsu speaks for you, leaning her head on your shoulder.

“Good. I’ll let you get ready then.”

You and Akitsu take turns getting ready, then you make breakfast for the three of you. Yume and Akitsu share some talk about what happened last night and Yume seems pleased even though nothing really happened that you’d consider major. Akitsu apparently does.

You get dressed, with Akitsu picking out an appropriate if somewhat more casual combo that includes no jacket and a somewhat more flattering blouse than yesterday.

Yume is waiting for the pair of you at the door.

“Well, I assume you’re off to MBI again. I won’t keep you.”

“Where are you going?”

“MBI eventually. I’ll just take a different way than the two of you.”

1. Offer to drive her, since you’re both going there.

Taking a different way could mean a lot of things. She could just be being polite. She could be thinking of just going somewhere out along her way. She could also have something she needs to do without anyone else knowing about. Yume, as much as she likes to nice and polite, was in charge of Karasuba and the discipline squad at one point. She has her own things going on.

“Alright Yume. You take care of yourself. Things are getting exciting out there.” You offer her a smile and a handshake.

“You too Hatsu. I know you’re always up to something.” She smiles back and takes your hand happily. You aren’t really the hugging type in most cases.

“Just most of the time.”

“I’ll see you later.”

With that Yume takes her leave, heading down one elevator while you and Akitsu take another.

You don’t see her in the parking area, assuming she took it to the ground floor. Your drive to MBI is thankfully uninterrupted by anything and you make it up to your office as normal. Akitsu takes her spot at the secretaries desk and begins to log in, presumably to keep reading in some manner. The first part of your day goes without any interruptions as well, mostly normal MBI items.

You get a call on your cellphone a little while later, just after you finish lunch.

“Hatsu Toyoaki speaking.”

“Hatsu it’s...”

In case of a tie, I'll default to number 3.

...And why is the theme for Pinky And The Brain running through my head just by reading the third option?

Going to call for Dr. Takami in the labs.

“It’s Dr. Takami. I’m in the labs.”

“What can I do for you Doctor?”

“There’s actually a number of things I’ve got going on at the moment that I could use your assistance with.”

“Whatever you need. I’m at your command.”

“You know Hatsu...” You can hear her light up a cigarette on the other end. “Just one time I wish you’d be less than polite so I could actually be upset with you.”

“Apologies ma’am. I know you dislike what I do. Unfortunately it’s needed.”

There’s a sigh on the other end and an exhalation of cigarette smoke.

“Unfortunately you’re correct.”

There’s a silence on the line, with you unsure as to what you should say.

“I got a call earlier, from Yume. She informed me you took her in for the night.”

“Yes ma’am. She was attacked by four Sekirei earlier in the day. I didn’t think it terribly safe for her to venture out at night.”

“Yes.” You hear an exhalation. “Hatsu. Would you accept an apology from me for my prior behavior?”

“Ah…”

1. Accept Dr. Takami’s apology. You’ve always been a bit wary of her but she’s never been outright hostile.

2. Say there’s nothing to apologize for. You don’t particularly like some of the things you do either.

3. Tell her you’d just like to keep things professional.

4. Other?

The option was more simply stating that you personally don't like some of the things you do. Corporate espionage is still espionage. If you could do it in public then you would. Not that you don't do your job well or are apologizing for doing it.

“Apology accepted Dr. Takami.” You try not to sigh, instead glancing over at Akitsu who is looking at you with interest.

“Thank you Hatsu.” There’s another breath from her side of the phone. “Now, where were we?”

“Clearing the air and then you had several things for me to do ma’am.”

“Right. Air is now cleared. There’s three things I’ve got on my plate at the moment and you could take care of any of them.”

“What are they ma’am?”

“The first is relatively straightforward. Number 108 has been begging me to let her go outside and see some plants for a while. I’ve been refusing but...” Another sigh.

“108 is the youngest and she’s using those sad eyes on you isn’t she?”

“Somewhat. I could say no but it really would be good for her in a number of ways.”

“What are the others?”

“We’re about to release number 9 but she’s being stubborn again. We have to do some final tests on her before we let her out but she’s refusing to come out right now, even with some female doctors. I could go talk to her but...”

“But you’d like me to do it because you don’t want to either.”

“Ha. Yes, that’s correct.”

“The final thing?”

“My daughter is arriving downstairs shortly. If I have to deal with these other things I’d like you to show her around the city a bit, given that I will be occupied.”

“Your daughter ma’am?”

“Yes, my daughter.” A breath of smoke. “She’s a bit of a handful.”

“Right.”

“So Hatsu, which one would you prefer to deal with for me?”

1. Escort number 108 around.

2. Go talk to number 9.

3. Go meet Takami’s daughter.

You take a deep breath and let it out. You aren’t so sure about kids, especially number 108 since she’s got powers to go along with the lack of sense. Nor do you particularly want to meet Takami’s daughter because you aren’t sure how that would turn out. Number 9… is far from pleasant to deal with but at least she’ll listen to reason. Most of the time at least.

“I’ll go talk to number 9 for you.”

“Oh? And here I thought you’d take one of the others.”

“Kids and I don’t get along all that well.”

“My daughter is eighteen but I get your point.” Another breath from her cigarette. “I’ll leave number 9 to you then. She’s at her normal spot, I’ll be dealing with 108 so I doubt you’ll see me.”

“Yes ma’am, I’ll deal with her.”

“Thank you Hatsu, I appreciate the help.”

“You’re welcome ma’am.”

With that the conversation ends and you hang up. Your first thought, after making sure to grab your jacket as you stand, is about Akitsu.

“Akitsu.”

“Yes Hatsu-sama?”

“I have to go to the labs for Dr. Takami, she needs me to talk to number 9.”

“Ah...” Akitsu nods, her face going a bit more impassive.

“You don’t have to come with me if you don’t want to but I need to go for work.”

Akitsu looks at you and then stands.

“You… you won’t let them...” Her eyes look up at you in honest need.

“What? No, of course not. I won’t let them touch you if you don’t want it.”

Akitsu nods at that, her face becoming less mask like and she falls into step beside you. Though you notice she’s closer than she normally is. The standard trip to the labs later, you find yourself with Akitsu nearly touching you, like you’re some kind of talisman.

A few of the scientists look at you, then at Akitsu. A few even recognize her. One tries to open his mouth. You shoot him a glare and he shuts it, looking away and slipping to the opposite wall. Akitsu seems to appreciate this, as her hand reaches out and brushes you for a split second. Thankfully nothing else happens on the way to number 9’s area of the labs and you pass by a guard after showing your ID. A female guard, one of the small number you have on payroll.

Entering the lab you can see that the doors are fully open and staffed by only females. Even with that, you can hear yelling coming from the insides and water on the floor, despite the very clear drains.

One of the scientists turns to see you and lets out a sigh of relief. You’ve seen her around before and she’s competent if somewhat quiet.

“Sir, I’m glad to see you.” The short woman looks up at you with a smile of relief.

“What’s the matter this time?” You look at the woman’s nametag. Dr. Takumi, Naru Takumi, that’s right.

“She’s somehow convinced that we’re going to release her immediately after testing and there’s going to be crowds of men around!” She shakes her head. “I’m not sure how she was convinced of that...”

You know the Doctor that originally worked on Tsukiumi had some… strange views and managed to impart some of them on her before she left.

“Who is out there? Come and show yourself you ruffian! Do not speak about me behind my back!” Tsukiumi apparently heard some of what you were saying.

Dr. Takumi winces and looks at you. You sigh.

You will approach this…

1. Personally. You know number 9, you’ve dealt with her before. Successfully even, compared to most men.

2. Businesslike. This is MBI business you’ll deal with it that way.

3. Orders from Dr. Takami. Appeal to higher authority.

I just want Karasuba. I believe in the MC, he can do it.
>>

>>
>>2743345
good thing in a quest anything is possible.
>>
>>2743352
possible
but I'm not really a fan of canon Karasuba
HPQ Karasuba was different and great, but her canon self is beyond help in my opinion
>>
>>2743356
Nothing is impossible in a quest, half the time it's why they exist. To do the impossible. I know we can do it.
>>
Isn't Karasuba winged by Natsuo already?
>>
>>2743362
I rather not.
>>
>>2743464
Not yet, she's not winged until about halfway into the first season or so.

For anyone arguing to waifu Karasuba, have you considered that by now we've characterized our dude as a basically decent human being whose job just occasionally involves killing people? We literally picked up the lonley lost Sekirei and carried her home, cleaned her up and gave her some food like a puppy.

That's not the sort of person Karasuba likes.
>>
>>2743639
I have faith.
>>

>>
>>2743717
>>2743722
she sounds like she isn't able to be a waifu without a bunch of bullshit.

however she does make for a good recurring antagonist
>>
Especially because we're friends with Yume
I'm pretty sure Karasuba was a yandere while Yume was alive, and just got worse when Musubi happened
>>
>>2744443
Agreed, Yume is basically the opposite of Karasuba. So if the MC is the kind of guy that wants to waifu Yume then he shouldn't have much if any compatibility with Karasuba.
>>
>>2744631
Yeah, we went the route of 'good person who does bad stuff sometimes'
To romance the murdercrow we'd need to be a lot more torture-happy and angry
>>
>>2745055
Okay, so I understood a lot of the points being said. I was one of the first ones talking about how going after Karasuba would be beyond difficult given what Guide said before and that she's a very violent person/unpleasant person.
She enjoys fights a ton and, has zero problems killing others or people she deems weak. Both of those things are true, but she wouldn't waste time torturing someone. Anyone weak enough to be left helpless in a fight against her isn't worth torturing and anyone that gives her a good fight or is a sekirei isn't someone worth doing that too.
As a matter of fact, she tends to work toward ending a fight in a single blow rather than drawing it out despite how much she enjoys fighting, so I'd say its not fighting or murder she loves but fighting against strong opponents perhaps as a way to test herself. It's only ever about her opponents if they beat or challenge her.
I can only see Karasuba torturing someone if they directly provoked her into doing so or if there was some greater purpose in doing so(probably aiming for a tougher fight), not because it would bring her some perverse sense of enjoyment.
Sorry for the rant, I just want to steer this away from just saying untrue things. I'm fine with pretty much everything else people have been saying about Karasuba, and I want to avoid this devolving into just saying untrue things.
I just haven't ever seen be torture-happy or otherwise being sadistic. She's a battle maniac with no morals beyond what can get her the best fight so torturing isn't something she does for the hell of it, nor would it be something that would impress her. Being strong is pretty much the only thing that would, and being stronger than Karasuba is....HAH!
>>
>>2745279
What a long way of correcting someone...checking this was pretty much the first thing I did when I woke up and I started writing it while half-asleep. Ten minutes of correcting later I realized what I was doing and realized it was too late.
I put in too much time it would just be wasted if I didn't put it up.
Good luck sifting through any of that, my god my sleepy self is talkative.
>>
>>2745279
She wouldn't waste time to torture, yes, but she WOULD torture to make someone else fight, perhaps someone that was reluctant to fight for some reason. So while she definitely cares mostly just for fighting, she's not above using dirty tactics to corner and/or force someone to fight so she can have a good time, or even tell the other party to resist more so she can fight more.
>>
I'd argue that she enjoys killing or watching people die nearly as much as the fight itself. She doesn't torture at all, but she did seem really happy to watch Miya's husband die. Could have been just because she knew it'd get Miya to fight her, but I really think she enjoyed his death too
>>
>>2745361
Oh, I can absolutely see her torture someone to make their friends fight or otherwise get an even better fight. Just not torture for the sake of torture.
>>2745376
I feel it was for both because she wanted Miya to fight her and because she hates humans, mostly for being weak. I'd say that it isn't that she enjoys death but hates humans and doesn't care much about if her opponents die. Difficult fights are the important thing.
I'm not even sure what about her is more mellow? Does she not hate humans as much because they didn't lead to Yume's death? Is she not as obsessed with fighting since Yume was there to curb the worst?
Unless Guide tells us or we meet/have our character talk about her, we don't know.
>>
So no one wants to try and waifu Murdercrow?
>>
>>2745583
I mean I'm willing to try, I just wanted people to know the very truthful circumstances that will work against us. In this case, being human is holding us back from waifuing Karasuba, lol.
>>
>>2745583
You're well on your way to pushing the neutrals into 'against' with your constant shilling.
>>
>>2745583
It just doesn’t make any sense to.
>>
>>2745583
The first time John fought Karasuba in HPQ, the one with LITERAL MAGIC, and her being our teacher fucking broke or dislocated John's back. Most of the rest of the courting involved nearly dying and shounen bullshit level power growth. That's with Karasuba not being a world hating Nihlist. Hatsu simply doesn't have it in him to survive courting Karasuba.
>>
Not gonna lie, Im significantly more interested in whether Akitsu would want a human marriage ceremony or not than other waifus
