Well, they are cute, but we're not used to the local fashion.

Going away from the main street gives us quite the surprise as we see a subtle but quite noticeable change, since the models are showing off all manners of work clothes now. A part of us is somewhat surprised its not underwear or something you'd want to keep off the general piblic eye, but we're just much more surprised that work clothes are something that the locals feel a need to hide, instead.

In fact, the windows now have both male and female models(*), but they are all wearing different sets of working clothes, mostly house staff and field work designs.

"Ah, that looks cute." - comments Dusk as she looks at a maid and butler couple on a window display.
"Cute, is it?"
"Of course, if you are proud of your work, you can't help but like your uniform, can you?" - she comments matter-of-fact

"Alright... just so your head bumps don't accumulate into a third horn..." - we hand her the money, and escort Kya back to the main street

"I am sorry about Dusk." - says Kya - "She has it in her head that she should try and break the ice whenever I don't know what to say." - she apologizes

Not wanting to get karate chopped too, we change the subject and escort her into the first store, after all.

The dresses have a rather sober style. You couldn't call it boring, but they certainly are rather puritan, for not saying they cover quite a bit, as well as being quite heavy.

The weight and thickness of the fabric is understandable, given the cold weather, but the all-encompasing level of coverage is somewhat surprised from a society that has no issues whatsoever 'breeding' people as slaves.

The clothes are nothing special, giving only very minor bonuses, and the highest quality we find is [Fine]

The princess is having quite a bit of trouble finding something that fits, as well.

Her figure is 'ideal' in the classical sense. Long legs, a hourglass figure and attractive curves, but she is -quite- tall, after all. Enough so that it is not just a matter of lenghtening the skirt in a dress.

We accompany Kya into numerous stores, but the difference between quality from one shop to the next is nothing special.

In the end, we decide to go with a small shop that has roughly the same quality as any other shop.

The tailor runs a family business, and their only beastkin slave is the windowgirl, which means the dress is, at least, not made by slave workers.

"What do you think would be better, lord? Long and form fitting, or more fluttery?"

The long dress she is showing us on her left hand covers her from the top of her neck down to her ankles, but from the hips up (is designed to) fit her like a glove, showing off her shapely, surprisingly toned (for a princess) figure, while the second one is shorter and reaches down just to her mid thighs, but is full of enormous ribbons and fluttery folds, complete with long laces that hang from the back of her waist as decorative tails of lace.

Well, she is obviously quite beautiful, and never had any obligation to support her brother's orphanage personally in the first place. She could have just assigned resources and staff to it, yet she didn't. She personally moved in and took care of them, and is even now helping our little sister, whom she is barely even acquainted with, to do the same in a land that is practically accross the planet from her own home, so yes, she is really quite compassionate.

It too is just a liiiiittle bit too small, but the effect isn't bad at all. Even though it covers her all the way down from her neck, it isn't bad at all.

Why? Because it literally fits like a glove.
Why? Because it was meant as a figure-hugging dress, but it is sliiiightly too small.

You understand, right? If a girl full of feminine curves and a healthy figure wears nothing but body paint, the impact is huge, right? Even though its actually a dress...

Ah, but it really gives the impression of bursting at the seams, though... well, its obvious, because it really is about to burst at the seams...

The window girl is a cute beastkin girl, though we can't quite tell her tribe. Her ears look both wide, fluffy and pointy, looking somewhat like a canine's but much too wide and low on the sides of her head. Also, we can't spot a tail, though that probably makes her better suited for her job, since the typical noble wouldn't have a tail, either.

Come think about it, there's a small bump on her back, so she may have a stubby tail.

The dress covers her nicely from the top of her neck, all the way down to the floor, and it even has a half veil-helm in a very...

Yup. Ridiculously puritan long dresses that hide as much as possible and even 'try to swallow the head,' with large bell-like dresses including gloves.

Anyway, the fashion seems to be interpreted in a somewhat unique manner, since the first dress the princess tried on actually had quite a generous amount of exposure, so rather than being focused on hiding the body, the locals seem more focused in simply using as much fabric as possible to signal wealth and affluency.

...I wonder if a long 'tail' dragging off on the floor behind a lady would then be seen as fashionable? Somewhat similar to a wedding dress, I guess. Funny enough, perhaps those horn-like pointy hats leaning away and to the sides of a lady's head, with cloth hanging from the tips, would also be seen as fashionable...

What do you guys think about this pic?

Since a round is meant to last around 6 seconds, 1 minute is 10 rounds, so 10 minutes is 100 rounds, and an hour is 600 rounds.

You can throw up to 3 shuriken per attack, so even if you only attack once per round, shouldnt you be able to throw 1800 shurikens at someone before the time goes back to normal?

What do you think happens when you throw a shuriken? does it immediately just starts hanging in mid air (actually moving hyper slowly towards your target) as soon as you let it go, and then speeds up when time goes back to normal?

And while you can't cast spells on others, it (the spell on the pic) does says you can cast spells on your gear, so can you cast Exploding Runes on sheets of paper and then spread them on the ground around your enemies, creating a minefield?

What about summoning spells? Could you use a wand with a summon monster spell and summon a monster? And what would happen to it?

Im assuming it would (from our POV) become immobile and restart moving when time resumes. What happens from the POV of the enemy? Do 600 monsters (assuming we have 600 summoning spells available) just suddenly appear?

I understand you couldnt attack someone in melee, but it really does look like it should be possible to throw a dart, knife or shurikenm right? Im not saying they will travel at hypersonic speeds at the target (through they probably should), but wouldnt it look as if they just appeared in mid air about to hit the target?

After looking through all copies of the dress, we do thankfully find one with three card slots. Well, its not as if the number is important. We just needed it to have one so we could enchant it with the cheapest card in our inventory, anyway.

Well, since it does have three slots, let's take a look at our inventory: Of course, we're skipping boss and unique cards... I mean, what would be the point?

Aliot Card ~ +2 STR, +5% max hp

...actually, the +5% max HP is really useful to us since our max hp is so high... could it be that our weird stats can overturn the common sense of which cards are good or bad?

Assassin Cross ~ Enables the use of [Stealth]

...and here we go. A boss card with a 0.001% drop chance, which most would think of as incredibly valuable, and its pretty useless to us since we already have [Stealth]

Bapho Jr. Card ~ Crit rate +1%

Choco Card ~ Dodge +5%

Condor Card ~ Cannot be prevented from retreating through skills or field effects

Deviling Card ~ +50% resistance against normal attacks, -50% resistance against elemental attacks

This looks like it would be useful for a shield if we knew we're going against a brute-type that doesn't use magic, but sadly these are all cards that can only be equipped on clothes (not even armor).

I guess Lyann could use it with a kobold card if we made her a specialized set for fighting physical opponents... eh, let's keep checking.

We pay for Kya's dress (magnificently ignoring her protests about it), and quickly install the card on its first slot.

Ah, let's also install a [Dusty Maid] card, since it gives a self-clean and self-repair (least) effect to the dress. Well, the low effect means it works quite slowly, but its still better than not having it at all, and should work well in preventing the dress from becoming musty or aged even if it was to spend a decade forgotten in the back of a closet somewhere.

"Here you go." - we hand the package with the dress to her
"I could pay this much by myself." - she protests meekly
"I invited you to come with me, so I should at least be allowed to provide this much for you, right?"
"Hh..."

more than wildly i'd call that extreme, though. I was thinking more along the lines of spiders, where the females are so much larger than the males.

Anyway, I liked that idea from the start, thus beastkin in this setting have females being a lot more humanoid than the males, whom are almost just animals standing on their hindlegs.

Its totally that, and not just me wanting to have cute girls with puppy/kitty ears. Totally.

But seriously, I guess easy mode would be the hyenas, normal would be the spiders and nightmare would be the anglerfish.

Well, currently the characters can take on most field monsters, but dungeon monsters level up as the dungeon goes deeper so it depends on how deep the dungeons are.

Also, the world enemies come from a dimension without stats so they run mostly on rules of physics rather than our system, so its pretty relative.

If we throw a hugemongous fireball at it, it dies, but it a ship-sized horror stomps us, we do sink into the ground and are immobilized, though instead of right out dying, our hp is badly damaged, which as it turns out, is why the creator gods gave us the rpg-like system to begin with.

Ah... but she seems to like reading more modern works, though, and it seems to be that she dislikes the pacing of classic literature works in the Exodus and Foundation periods, as authors tend to leave out a lot of details over entire months in their characters lives without so much as an "they traveled" or "they studied," so the characters would suddenly 'jump' ahead months and leagues, and are suddenly in completely different lands or have completely new skills out of the blue, which really seems to annoy her...

To think our puppy (she's a wolf though) imouto would have literary preferences, favorite authors, and preferred ooetry styles now...

I found a chain of feats for martial arts, and there's this one bit of wording that confuses me a bit.

The Kinenhi martial arts school of the phoenix goes like this:

Benefit: You gain a +2 shield bonus to AC while fighting unarmed.

Benefit: You gain a +6 bonus to confirm critical hits with unarmed strikes.

Really, I think having the increased critical threat range is well worth NOT having that extra +2 shield bonus to defense.

There's some wriggling under the blankets, and Stella's pretty face pokes out from under them to ask for a goodnight kiss, so we smooch her twice before leaving.

As usual, we [Treestride] to the peach tree in the garden, though the guards (and shadows) seem quite aware of us being 'safe', so we are not challenged this time, and quickly make our way to Mako's bedroom.

It seems the young vizir finally managed to convince Mako to go along with some more local customs, for there are now two guards at her bedroom's door, and we are quickly announced as 'the imperial consort' before being allowed to enter the room.

"Eldric, welcome home." - Mako greets us from the head of the table

Right, due to time difference, I guess it is dinner time.

She is dressed in a deep black, but rather small and light silk dress that exposes her arms and shoulders along with quite a bit of her lovely cleavage. Her hair is pulled up into a single long, free falling ponytail secured in place with an ivory hair accessory.

She's not wearing any other jewelry, and the overall impression is, as usual, beautiful and fresh.

Slightly lower towards us down the table, there's Aritsu, Miel, Dawn and Sykia, sitting on a seiza-like posture (Mako has her legs crossed over each other and towards the left), wearing nothing but their collars and accessories, but their look is somehow familiar, relaxed and elegant, rather than sexual or lewd...

...we're not being affected by the 'dancer correction effect', right?

No, I guess its just that everyone is relaxed and comfortable enough in the nude, that their natural grace and cuteness shines through.

Hn. This is a good thing. Definitively.

We move over and kiss each girl on the way to Mako, then sit next to her and give our cute empress a long, linering kiss, gently pushing her down to further kiss her for a couple of minutes before letting her off.

We share in everyone's dinner, and enjoy kissing and cuddling our girls for a while before finally going back to Stella's manor, where Lyann creeps up to cuddle up with us until morning.

Also, finished Mako's sheet, what do you think? I hadn't played 3.5 for about 7+ years until I started running it again on saturdays, so I feel like Im probably forgetting a lot of stuff.

I used to add a ton of little inventory stuff to help bring out a character's personality, but I can't remember the little details after such a long time

With Zoe and Nina, I think the office would be working so well that Ms. Yin would almost regret the extra help. She's so used to be swamped with work, that for it all to get taken care of before it reaches her desk would make her feel useless.
