>20 minute votes, will roll off against tie breakers

>Write in are heavily encouraged.

>Best of the first 3 die rolls is accepted

>Only correctly rolled dice are accepted

>I will sometimes show DC and sometimes I will not. I will usually show the DC on particularly hard rolls though, and will always do so in a life or death situation.

>Natural ones overrule better rolls, and cancel out with natural 100s, at which point the remaining die roll is the one accepted.

It occurred to me that sometimes people do recaps when they start new threads. Since I run this thin every day I haven't been doing so, only making new threads when we get to the point where we're not bumping anymore. So uhh here's a quick one before I get us back into the swing of things.

You're going through the underground water drainage network to find your kidnapped minion but these assholes didn't wanna let you through easily.

Alright cool, let's get back to it then.

You can feel animosity in the air between your minion and the pair of fighters that had been hammering away at him in your absence. You can feel it particularly centered upon the grav skater, and you can sense an odd mixture of relief and disappointment when you arrive at his side. His previous intensity calming somewhat. You had seen him in a rare moment. Fighting desperately. He had been doing well. He fought smart, and was getting better as the fight wore on. You are almost tempted to let him play out the remainder of the fight, and think he might actually have a good shot of winning even if you weren't stepping in, but decide that it is best to end this engagement as quickly as possible. You do not know what awaits you once you get closer to your minion's location, nor what kind of defenses you'll have to contend with. It would be best to preserve your strength until you need it later.

You begin setting the ground for your fight. The real fight. Funneling a thin strand of your being into the nearby wall, and leaving a small amount of it in your wake as you move, you quickly get to work coating the nearby tunnel with your form. Slowly expanding until small veiny strands of yourself begin to spread across the walls and ceiling around you. The pair seems apprehensive at first, but quickly snap back into action.

Your focus shall be the man. Make sure that not a single canister of his can interfere. You can sense some disappointment from your creature. And thinking on it, his ire seemed mostly focused on the woman. Still, you had a plan.
>>
>>2698481
As you finish saying that, you pour more and more of yourself into the wall, sending thin webbed veins crawling along the tunnel walls and ceiling. Waiting for the skater to get near enough to one of your veins to target.

You could sense that your minion was in a great deal of pain. Even so, he dutifully began closing the gap between himself and his target.

The hunter, for his part, was grinning down the barrel of his gun at your minion, while the girl suddenly started charging toward you headlong. She fired a shot or two into your main 'mass' but that was hardly a shell at this point. You had been dispersing your true mass into the veiny system all around you, and it was too late for her by the time she noticed.

With a quick twist of his wrist, the man points his gun away from your minion, and surprisingly towards the girl. And as he does so you loop your small tendrils around the skater's ankles, and crush the devices that were allowing her annoying movement.

At that same moment, your minion knocks the canister being shot out of the air. It explodes on impact, and fills the chamber near them with an orange haze. The haze does something strange to the man. He almost seems to grow a little, and there's a strange orange hue coming from his body.

He fires another canister, this one toward the tendrils holding his ally at bay, but it is immediately blocked again by your minion, who has always had an incredible track record with batting those things out of the air. Maybe one of the humans you'd fed to him had been a tennis aficionado? Who knows.

You are already at work reforming the brunt of your mass around the small tendril holding the girl in place. Before long, you have her ungulfed up to the knee in your form. The web that she had skated past had covered her, almost like a net, and the first thing you'd done was disarm her. You notice as you hold her, that unlike the sunglass sporting hunter your pet was keeping busy, no stream of silver nanobots came from under her jacket to ward you off. An unexpected blessing. You hadn't planned to enact your trap without a little bit more pain.

As you apprehend the girl, your minion fights on. He had well since closed the distance between him and his opponent. The hunter was taking wild swings at your minion, having abandoned his firearm for more melee oriented combat. Each of his swings would see his hand morph into a devastatingly large claw, one that was even larger than himself. However, your minion was many times larger than your average human, and had grown far more agile after his recent meal. He was still far from your level of fluidity, but he had greatly improved his ability to manipulate his amorphous body since he'd first begun fighting for you. You watch as he dodges and redirects blow after blow.

You watch, bemused for a moment, but when you are ready you instruct your minion.
>>
>>2698482
Make a wall. I want to see how hard you can be.

With that, you rush towards your minion, a ball of flesh surrounding your captive. You surge forward with as much speed as you are able, and when you reach your smaller minion and his quarry, you slam that ball of flesh into his back, pushing him forward into your minion who, to his credit, has hunkered down and hardened himself into a respectable force. You aren't totally sure you would be able to easily puncture him yourself, if not for the fact that you could link directly into his brain whenever you wanted.

Impressive.

The two, to their credit, don't seem to be dead. However, they are greatly malformed. Limbs going off in wrong directions, in some cases two or three wrong directions all at once. Flattened faces, and sunken chests. It's likely that your minion is holding them up, and in place, but even so the way they remain there, flattened broken versions of themselves is almost cartoonish in a way.

They stop making any movements at all when your plated minion puts them through the grinder, almost literally. The two disappear into his body, only to be funneled out into the running channel below. You hear once again the explosive sound of the damaged nanomachines interacting with the water, and decide it's time to move on. Your minion's unceremonious treament of the end to this conflict seems somehow fitting. You doubt that these three were the worst that the night has in store. All that's left is to keep moving on.

How do you do so?

>Slowly - let's snap up any rats, cats, or whatever that's gotten into this tunnel. Let our minion restore some health, and have him transfer some of that sweet mass our way while he's at it.

>Really slowly - Spread out along the walls and ceiling in a one inch layer strip. Crawl along but don't paint an obvious picture of where you are or where you've gone. They don't know you're going for your minion yet, he's still pretty far away. If they don't already know what we're doing, let's not clue them in

>Moderately paced - They probably know what we're doing, let's just travel normally and snap a few rats up to heal on the way, if they make themselves an easy target

>Fast - Ignore anything else, rush to where we can sense our minion

>Other (write in)

i say we go slowly, regen our health and make it a little harder to follow, also if possible feed the skater to our minion (i wanna eat them but we would take to long. We really need to work on our digestion)
>>
>>2698485
I may not have stressed this before, but the three of them all share the silver skin and you're pretty sure there isn't any sort of meaty flesh bits in these particular fighters.
>>
>>2698483
Can we eat rats and such to heal our minion while moving really slowly?
Of so, that's my vote, if not, then just slowly.
>>
I vote that we go super slowly so we dont get caught off gaurd again, also so we can regen some health.
>>
>>2698483
>>Really Slowly, but with some rats or bugs or something along the way and mass transfer.
All the options seem to be good in different ways, but I'm going to go with Really Slowly while healing, because stealth is super important for us right now and in general.

Your travels through the tunnel are mostly uneventful. You elect to spread out along the walls and ceiling with your plated minion attached. Typically it's always easier to undertake things like this with your minions attached. The pace is almost a crawl. You move through the tunnels as a sprawling mass of veiny tendrils, creeping through the tunnels as you form a venous web. As you do so, you discover several loose stones in the dilapidated infrastructure, and chance upon more than a couple rat warrens. You probably find over a hundred rats during the slow trek toward your spiked minion. Mostly you allow your plated minion to consume them, and pass enough mass from their bodies into your own to help replace the mass you'd both lost in the fighting before. After the eightieth or so rat, you realize that both you and your minion are pretty close to your peak again.

You decide to do something different with these last few rats. Their measly mass wouldn't be of much use to you in your growth, and their brains would also be a negligable addition to your ever growing mass. However, your enemies have spies in these tunnels. They keep the tunnels surveiled with their nanomachines and patrol with their men. You decide to bend the wills of these last several rats to your own purposes. Infesting them is easily done. In fact, thanks to your slow moving speed, it doesn't even slow you down.

You release them into the tunnels, and have a connection very much like the one you have with Sophie, just on a much less significant scale. They can be your eyes in these tunnels, whenever you so wish to look through them.

As the sense of your spiked minion grows stronger, and more immediate above, you see another two man squad of brown coat wearing figures in the distance. These fighters look unlike the other three you'd recently dispatched. One was a gigantic, bulky block of a man who stood with his teeth gnashing an unfortunate cigar. His counterpart was wearing a red mask with a long, thin sword strung over his back.

They take no immediate notice of your pressence as you creep along the walls and ceiling. Your mass is spread over perhaps a quarter mile of tunnel to your rear. It could take some time to fully reconstitute yourself for another fight. They seem to obviously be guarding a ladder that leads upwards, and you're almost certain that your minion is up there. Additionally, the tunnel is better lit nearer to them. You might be able to get closer, but you'd risk exposure while your form is spread thin.
>>
>>2700690
How do you handle this?

>Start forming up. Just let our forward most slowly absorb mass until we're concentrated enough for a proper fight

>Dip into the water and start forming up there. Out of sight, out of mind.

>Have our minion form near the center of our mass to distract them. Hit them from behind and above and all over when he's lured them into deeper into our web

>Try to get a little closer, listen to them for a while.

You elect to wait. Having your minion slowly solidify itself near your center, allowing all of it's thinly spread form to recede to a single point makes the reformation process much more time efficient. When he is solidified, he charges up the tunnel, not trying to mask its presence in the slightest. The hunters took immediate notice, and immediately geared up to engage.

The sword fighter charged into action first, rushing to charge your minion, who immediately fled toward your center. As if in fear of the long thing sword the man wielded.

The larger one lifted his hand toward your minion, and a small eight barrel rotary machine gun folded down from his wrist. It immediately began spinning up, and a thin spray of bullets rained through the hall, passing through the sword fighter harmlessly, and bouncing off of your minion's shell. As your minion grew further away, his shots grew wilder and wilder, until ultimately he gave up shooting, and leaned back. As he did so, two support rods extended from his shoulders, and produced small wheels at their base. He kicked his feet forward, which also sprung wheels, and began tearing down the hallway with far more speed than you'd expected from the big bulky fighter.

He flies past his sword fighting friend, and then even tries to fly past your minion. However, you minion is large, and takes up a good portion of the tunnel himself. As the bulky fighter tries to push past, your minion slams a stocky leg-like appendage into his side, pushing him over and uplifting him from his wheels.

All of his momentum dies, and the pair of fighters remains too focused on your minion to pay any attention to the swelling network of veins and tendrils clogging the tunnels about them.

You curl your outermost flesh downwards, connecting it and fusing the tendrils together into one solid wall of flesh that simply closes in around the combatants from all sides. The sword fighter notices just as he catches up to his overturned compatriot, who immediately begins righting himself. However, as he starts to, your plated minion slams into him again, knocking him back down with prejudice.

The man notices his compatriots arrival, and a look passes between them. As it does, the sword fighter swings his sword toward the blocky man, who's bulky exterior compresses suddenly. As the sword slices through the air, it begins to crackle with a blue energy, and as it impacts the man, a sound like a church bell resounds through your whole being.

The sound itself is enough to be jarring, almost agonizing even, but the electrical field that they generate is more than enough to be harmful.
>>
Still, not enough. As you continue to close around them, your plated minion shifts his focus toward the sword fighting man. Attempting to keep him from using that attack again. They go back and forth for a while, your minion trying his best to dodge the crackling weapon whenever possible. For all of it's hardness, his armor doesn't seem to help him much against the electrical nature of the sword wielders attacks. Even the blows he turns on his hard exterior result in pain for your loyal minion.

As he engages, so too do you, reaching out fleshy tendrils from the ceiling to restrain the blocky man, who had just been leveling both arms, with spinning guns at your minion. The ominous green glow coming from the pair of guns was enough reason for you to step in. You begin dismantling the guns as your plated minion pushes his sword fighting prey into the wall behind him. The wall of you. You are pulling the pair of them into a common center, as your mass continues to congeal around your minion and your two opponents, a sudden light illuminates the tunnel where the two of them had come from.

It pierces through one side of your 'wall', leaving a hole that was three feet in diameter. The beam continued through, cutting an devastating hole in the other side of you.

Your attack is impeded, just as you finish dismantling the man's mini gun arms, and were about to go in for the kill, you find yourself in agony, and desperately searching for an attacker that you cannot see.

You still surround your two opponents, but there are charred gaping holes on either side of you. How do you proceed?

>Fill the gaps before they can escape through them. Try to finish them off before another of those crazy attacks land.

>Spread back out. That attack cut through us like butter. If we stay concentrated it can do some serious damage.

You quickly seal yourself shut, your mass thinning and compressing to shut the circular holes in a fluid manner. The charred and crumbling flesh being ejected to make room for the free flowing tissue taking its place. The bulky fighter struggles to free himself from your grasp, hoping to capitalize on your moment of agony, but your will is stronger than he could ever understand, and you do not let your grip on him go. Your plated minion has successfully disarmed the sword wielding man, who is also still trapped in your being. You decide that in order to ensure the destruction of these two, you would risk another attack from the laser weilding fighter. Considering the fact that it didn't blast you the moment you began forming a wall, you figured there must be some sort of limitations to a weapon of that magnitude.

At least, you hope so.

Your plated minion moves towards the center of the rapidly closing void of flesh that is your thinly stretched form. He picks out a spot near the center of the two fighters, where they'll soon be colliding, and pushes two front legs forward. The thin white stripe of extra hard bone that ran along his shoulders suddenly flares up, pushing a few spiked bone structures up. The men are rapidly brought toward your minion, and impaled on the spikes.

You refuse with your plated minion, crushing the two pierced fighters into a jagged ball and dropping them into the canal. You notice a foreign entity within your plated minion's section of mass, and realize that he's held on to the electric sword. Though it is almost comically small for him to wield, you can see where he might get some use out of it.

You are reforming into a solid body as another beam of light comes bursting down the corridor. Your plated minion reacts quickly, forming himself into a sort of shield to deflect the blast from you.

You can feel that the blast has more trouble chewing straight through your plated minion, but it still slowly eats away at his form. However, the brunt of the blast is directed past you both, the light, which appears to be some form of plasma, flows around your shieldlike minion when it cannot easily pass through.

When the attack ends you focus as hard as you can from it's source, and still you can see nothing.
>>
>>2705504

Your minion's mostly grey mass is smoking and burning at places, but the blast seems to have narrowly missed chewing through all of his armor, which was even now reforming. You do not think he could withstand a direct hit from the blast, or a sustained focused barrage, but with him acting as your shield, you would at least be in less immediate danger. You pass a bit of your own mass into him to act as a quick tranfusion, and with minimal effort he's already back at fighting shape. You have a rough estimate of how long you have to wait in between blasts, and are sure that you can keep replenishing the mass in your minion to keep his shell strengthened indefinitely. It might be possible to deflect a few more blasts with your minion acting as a shield in order to pinpoint the exact origin of the attacks.

If not, you still need to figure out some way to find and disable this unsettling attacker.

How?

>Surge forward, if I can see him maybe I can feel him.

>Stay fused with the minion and deflect a few more blasts until we're sure of his position

>Spread back out, make yourself as hard a target as possible until we can spot this asshole.

I know, I was against it because it was too early to reveal most of the exposition with characters not being us. Even though knowing more about the world wouldv'e been nice, it was to early. Now we kinda know what's going on with this world so, I think they'll like the idea.

I have an idea How about the origins of the "Thing" under the enemy's base. That would be fun to explore.

Or how about the scientist... Or better yet how about his dog companion..

I think we have reached a point where we can explore other "plots" or the origins of things.

If you like any of these ideas think it through, because it might reveal something that you might not want us to know just yet.

Finding yourself alone again, save for this unseen pest, you start spreading your form out once more. However, you don't disperse the mass that's making up the 'wall' like shell where you'd crushed your first two opponents. Before long it's mere millimeters thick, the bulk of your mass spreading out into the tunnel around you. You start creeping forward with your hundreds of tiny tendrils, each one watching for the next laser blast.

As you proceed forward, one of your tendrils brushes against something odd. It is hard, and fixed to the ceiling, but completely non-visible. Upon closer inspection, you see a small circuler indent in the ceiling. You work to pry it up, and just as you're prying it free a third blast rocks the tunnel. The moment the invisible cable is freed, the laser blast shakes and goes off balance, first arcing down and carving a chunk out of the stonework wall, before leveling back out at the end of it's lifespan to focus on the shell of yourself that you'd left behind.

In that moment, you could see clearly where the blast originated from. Suspended some ten feet off the ground in the tunnel system, hanging in the center of the tunnel. Even though you are looking right at where it came from, you still see nothing.

You start reaching your tendrils out towards the spot, only to hear a series of small hisses. As you grasp the point in the air where you'd seen the blast coming from, you find nothing there. You almost give up, until one of the invisible cables pierces one of your thin tendrils on a wall some twenty feet further up the tunnel. You start wrapping your body around it, drawing it into you and tightening your grip.

Before long you've got the perpetrator restrained, even if your opponent remains invisible.

"Get the fuck off of me!" Comes a feminine husky shout. Suddenly, an electrical field bursts from the center, and a feminine form is visible in the tunnel.

You spend a moment reeling as the electricity courses through the several tendrils of yourself that had been going in for the kill, and in that moment you realize that your quarry is now visible.

She immediately bagan using a series of four cables attached to a device on her back to swing through the corridor, toward the ladder the other two had been guarding, and you notice something peculier about this one.

She lacks the brown coat, or the silver skin of your other combatants.

It may be a close race, but you could possible catch back up to her if you rush.
>>
>>2707084
Do you?

>Chase her down with as much speed as possible

>Let her go - You're going to be following her up that ladder soon enough anyway. You'll have time to catch her in a bit.

>Stay down here a while longer - Ingest a few more rat warrens so that when we do climb that ladder we'll be at maximum fighting strength.

>Turn back - If this is just their forward defense, whatever is waiting up that ladder is a lot more deadly. Let's come back on another day when we've grown more fearsome. Just the knowledge that our opponents can employ invisibility in their defenses has made this trip worth the effort
>>
>>2707084
>Chase her down with as much speed as possible.
I doubt the organization thought we'd get this far ahead. Turning back will just mean they'll redouble their efforts and make more preparations. Letting her go or waiting around will just mean she'll employ her invisibility again. We need to end this now and quickly.
>>
>>2707102

I love how you guys are deciding what's happening next before seeing what's happening now. For real though those are fun ideas that you guys should play with later on.

You recover quickly from her electrical burst, and immediately start surging through the tunnel to cut off her escape.

She's quick, using her cables to propel her through the tunnels with incredible speed. You catch her, but only barely. She had just planted herself at the base of the ladder, and sent a cable up when you caught her ankle. Slowly, you pulled her free of her cable pack, leaving the backpack like device dangling from the metal hatch above. You have her now, and you can feel it. The elevated thunder of a beating heart. The warmth that your previous opponents lacked. The feeling of her weak struggle that lacked the oomph of her cybernetic counterparts.

You latch a few tendrils onto her neck, opening the skin and delving up her spine and into her brain.

This is not your first time poking around inside of a humans brain, but hers is much different than that of Sophie's. She doesn't merely struggle against you, but manages to actively resist your sway. You find it difficult to pull up memories, or to overwhelm her senses with your voice.

You get bits and pieces. Ana Joi, a special operative for UNNA's R&D department. She was here testing one of their prototype hunter loadouts. She believed the invisibility would keep her safe. She was, of course, surprised by your ability to intelligently plan around new threats.

These humans were not used to facing off against other intelligences it seemed. Convenient for you.

You continue trying to wear down her mental defenses, but for your efforts you are awarded a stream of useless information. While you are siphoning off memories, it seems she is aware of your intent, and supplying you with useless ones.
>>
>>2707764
"Y-You won't win here!" She struggles to scream, her hand reaching a small crest on her chest piece, and another electrical burst racks through your being, and she manages to pull free from your grasp. She rips herself free from the grip you have on her neck as the flesh is still reeling from the electricity coursing through.

With a dexterous leap, she escapes your clutches and grasps onto the cable pack. You hear a whirring as the cable recoils itself, pulling her quickly up the ladder. A sudden hiss and clang informs you that the metal hatch at the top has opened and closed.

You can still sense her though. Your attempt at infestation, while incomplete, did fully fail to bear fruit. She knows that you were in her head, and knows that you were combing her brain for memories, but might not currently be aware that there is still some part of you housed in her brain. Perhaps you can work with that?

When you sharpen your focus, you can zone in on the piece of you housed in her brain, much like Sophie's brain, but you are greatly restricted. You cannot freely access her sight and hearing like you can with Sophie, but by gradually sending a super thin tendril of the lump of foreign mass in her brain toward an ear, you can pick up on what she's hearing.

You have a weak presence in her mind, at best, and she has gotten away from you, and is getting further away still.

You can sense him. Your minion above you, somewhere in the facility she has just fled into. She lacks the weapon that had done so much damage to you, but you get the feeling, based on the girl's heart beat and the determined way that she's moving, that there is more danger ahead of you.

How shall you proceed?

>Pry open that hatch, we're going in regardless of the threat of further danger

>Try to bore your way into the building some other way

>She left her gun behind, let's take a minute to look at that first. If we can use it, we can just blast that stupid hatch open. Who says they're the only ones who can use weapons?

>Other (write in)

And

>Try to reinfest her brain, and risk potentially alerting her to our continued presence in her head

>Stay dormant. Listen and observe. They don't need to know we're there to get useful information from her.

>Spread out in her body - we could get less useful information this way, but we may be able to mask our presence inside of her if they do some uninvasive tests.

>Other (Write in)

>Try to focus on Ana's head, see if you can have one more go at infesting her
>>
>>2707768
>She left her gun behind, let's take a minute to look at that first. Next hide the gun inside of our body, but near the surface (deep enough that it can't be seen) and not near our core. Pry open that hatch, we're going in regardless of further danger.
>Stay dormant, listen and observe. They don't need to know we're there to get useful information from her.

If we blast open the door immediately with the gun they'll know we have it on us. (Though they'll potentially still be surprised) Whatever the case may be, let's use the gun only when the case is dire, we need the element of surprise, or we have to attack a target at range. The gun in this way is our trump card so to speak.
>>
>>2707764
To be fair, all previous attempts at failing to infest lead to delicious corpses. Huzzah, we have a psuedozombie! Partial Success!

>She left her gun behind, lets take a minute to look at that first.
Sweet, loot! Let's keep knocking the Agents off balance, since it seems to be what's keeping us alive.

>>Ana
I'm not quite sure what we should do with her. On one hand, she's likely to go tell her buddies that we're here, if they don't know already. On the other hand, we have something new and weird popping up. I'll go with:

Before you chase after the girl, who you can still feel moving away, you spend a moment focusing on the true reason you have come here. You feel something straining your connection. You find it odd. It seems strange that your minion hadn't already tried to contact you when you were sure that they should be able to feel you.

There seems to be some haze, making it difficult to connect. Some force was dampening the connection the two of you felt, but you could feel that your own strength of will surpassed the resistance offered by whatever the humans were doing. You feel a connection starting to form, however, your minion seems to be conscious of your attempt now, and starts trying to guard it's mind against you. This additional difficulty makes it even harder, and you find yourself filling with fury that your minion would deny you.

Whatever the humans had done to him to evoke this level of disloyalty would be severely punished.

You push on, until you can feel the mental defenses of your spiked minion crumble, and come at last to enter into his mind fully.

As you do, a blinding purple light overtakes your senses. You feel your mind going numb, slowly, but the connection does not die. You hear a stuttered apology from your minon, who you can tell is suspended in some sort of tube filled with a strange fluid. That is all you are able to garner from the situation as the purple light continues to pulse. You realize the danger you are in too late, as the purple light continues pulsing around you. You quickly work to free yourself from your connection with your minion, and finally manage to do so.

The purple still stands at the corners of your vision as you come back to your main body. Your spiked minion is standing near to you, looking worried. Judging by the gashes in the wall around you, you had been flailing wildly. Judging by the large number of gashes you had either been doing so for some time, or had done quite a few all at once.

I thought that would never end, Your plated minion tells you, concern in the voice you hear.

How long was I out? You ask, realizing your sense of time had been skewed while the connection took place.
>>
>>2711191
About ten minutes. Your minion responded. You shake yourself out of it, but can still feel the lingering effects from the light. Your limbs are less responsive, your general movement speed has slowed, and you can still feel a groggy sensation all throughout your body. It is slowly abating, but will be some time before you return to normal.

Furthermore, if you had been out of it for ten minutes, those above will have had plenty of time to prepare for your arrival. This just got a bit more dangerous.

How shall you proceed?

>Go back. This is clearly more danger than we'd bargained for.

>Bash open the hatch. Whatever they're doing to our minion has to stop now. This cannot wait.

>Send your plated minion up to bash in the hatch, and let him absorb the initial assault. As much as you hate to admit it, he is sturdier than you are.

We need to show him that we trust him him enough to give him this opportunity. They are our minions after all.

I forgot to make you guys roll so I just treated this encounter like a success. You're welcome.

Ascend the ladder. Let us see what awaits us at the top. I trust in your strength to see you through. Know that I will be right behind you to assist.

You minion begins to move without further prompting necessary. Traveling up the rungs and pressing into the hatch above. Surprising neither of you, it is pressure sealed. At first, you think perhaps you may need to assist your minion in order to pry the grate open, but with a sudden hiss it finally gives way. Your minion immediately surges into the room above, taking the eight guards stationed there by surprise. They had, in all honesty, expected your arrival much sooner, or not at all.

Unaware for the reason behind your ten minute stall, they had been given enough time for the tension and panic to bleed from the room, and had lapsed into an uneasy begrudging comfort. They were bitching about the boogiemen they were on guard against when your faithful minion surged into the room, swallowing one of them whole in his form before the others could react. Immediately, your minion was engulfed in a hail of explosive gunfire and swallowed in flame. And while they were focused on your minion, you attacked yourself.

Seven tendrils shot out of the hole in the ground and attached to their necks all at once. You throttle the life out of those guards, and pull yourself into the chamber, dropping them one by one down the hatch to collect later. For now, you see you're in the basement level of some facility. The walls around you are metal. There are vents you can access, and on either end of the room there is a reinforced door. Neither of which seems open, both of which seem secured by some sort of keypad. There is little else of note in this room. That is until your eyes glance above you.

You can see a nanomachine feeder, much like the one you'd broken at their last base. Inactive for now, hovering right over the hatched entrance. You get the impression that they had perhaps intended to attack you and your pet with it, but being caught off guard as they had been, had not managed to activate it.

How shall you proceed?

>Break through the western door, our minion is beyond there somewhere

>The eastern door is worth checking out. Who knows what else they've got in this base?

>Into the vents. Vents have never steered us wrong before right?

>Fuck with the nanofeeder. Might be worth getting rid of now.

>98 /100
That was so damn close to a double crit!

Now I can’t stop thinking about what would’ve happened if we did get a double crit!
>>
>>2712897
A crit is only a crit if you roll it as one.

You send your minion to probe the door's defenses while you have a look at the machine above. You take a large ball of your flesh, and affix it at the end of a thick limblike tendril, which you swing as hard as you can, hardening the ball as you contacted the device. You swing time and time again, denting the exterior, and causing it to creak against the bolts fastening it to the ceiling. Once it is appropriately loose, you lasso a tendril around it, and begin pulling. As you yank, you find it slowly pulling free, until the entire device has been unseated from ceiling.

As you slam it against the wall, it reveals a coord of tightly wound wires and cables, each now arcing energy between each other. An idea forms in your mind as you turn to your minion, who is currently probing the door for any gap your amorphous bodies might be able to exploit.

Give me that sword of yours for a moment. You say eyeing the electrical wiring. You are reasonably sure that a weapon like that wouldn't work if it also electrified anything it attacked, so you confidently jam the sword into the cluster of wires. As you do so, a power surge runs through the facility. The lights dim, shutting off for a moment, before a set of dim orange lights flicker on.

In the moment of darkness, two things happen. Firstly, your plated minion manages to pry the door open. When whatever locking mechanism lost power, it briefly lost it's ability to remain closed. Secondly, you can feel something. A black rage. Pure and overwhelming, well, almost anyway. You can sense your connection to your spiked minion sharpen. You are not particularly eager to repeat your previous bath in the purple light, which still has you feeling groggy and clouded.

The rage continues for a few brief moments, before calming. As it does so, you can feel your spiked minion reaching out to you.

I do not know what you just did, but I thank you. Beware any humans who bear a gun with darts. They got me with three darts before, and when I came to, I was in one of their testing tubes.

You can tell of your time here once we are no longer here. I do not care for these humans and their barbs, but I cannot let them take what is mine. Work your way to me. Destroy as much of their work as you can on the way. They will pay for their transgressions.

You proceed into the hallway that your minion had opened up, returning your minion's toy to him as you do so.

The hallway is dull, with five doors, two on either side of you, and one at the end of a long section of hallway. These doors are not reinforced like the one you'd just entered through, and you have no doubt that they could not stop you if you sought entrance.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen the dice fuck up a DM’s plans.

The 1st (and funniest) time was when I was watching Team Four Star’s D&D campaign, when one of the players threw a bunch of ball bearings at a boss’ feet. That resulted in the DM rolling for the boss and getting 3 nat 1s in a row on 3 different dice! The boss was instantly killed by slipping on the ball bearings and falling through the floor! XD

Rolled 73, 93 = 166 (2d100)

You press into the first door as your minion presses into his. You sense his disappointment as he finds himself an empty office room. You on the other hand have found a quivering young man. He appears to be in his early twenties. You almost miss him, and may have if not for the whimpering from under his desk as you press into the room. The room contains a desk a few filing cabinents and a computer.

You apprehend him, waiting for a moment to decide what to do with him.

Your minion begins his sweep of the second room, and is once again met with disappointment.

Your second room, again, has another human within it's walls. This time a middle aged woman. Her brown and grey hair are messy. Unlike her counterpart, she is leaning against her desk, smoking a cigarette. When you enter the room she doesn't flinch, nor does she offer any resistance. It almost seems like she was expecting you.

You gather them both in your form, the young man crying pathetically as she continues to smoke her cigarette. Without the use of her hands she seems mildly annoyed that the smoke keeps going into her eyes.

"Quit yer fucking whining Cal." She says to the sniveling brat opposite her.

"B-B-But I-" he started, pausing to sob "I-I thought this b-b-base was supposed to be s-s-s-s-secure!"

She took another hearty puff before saying "We all knew this was a possibility when we took that thing in.

"Y-Y-Yeah b-b-b-b-but that's- that's supposed to be the soldier's problem!" He said sniffling like a small child.

Her teeth were gnashing the butt of her cigarette and she shook her head. "Ain't no safety in this line of work. What, did you think being a secret scientist for the government was gonna be all fun and games? Ain't no 'secret' government job that's safe. You're a smart lad. You ought've known." With that, she spits the remainder of her cigarette onto your form. It sizzles and burns for but a moment, but there's no lasting pain. "Now we just wait. This thing'll kill us or whatever before long. Make yer peace with that and stop yer blubberin."

An amusing exchange to be sure, but is she right? How will you dispatch these two?

Because I don’t see how a 62 passes and an 84 fails.

I’m not complaining, I just want to make sure there aren’t any mistakes.
>>
>>2716145
Nah I'm sure. That 93 I rolled was for unified defense from the next obstacles you'll be encountering.

The 73 was spiked minion working his way through the facility towards you. He's still doin' alright.
>>
You pull the pair of humans into your body, forming a void where they can wait for your ultimate decision. You make sure to give them enough air to breath for the next hour or so, and continue on through the facility with your armored minion fused to you as you proceed.

In chamber beyond, you find a long curved hall. There are no doors visible upon entrance, save the one you entered through. You see glass plating on some of the walls, but find mostly abandoned and darkened rooms. At one point your test your claws and spikes against the glass, but find it tempered, and impervious to your assault. Perhaps there is some way to bust it down, but you have no particular reason to at this point in time. You simply continue down the hall, working your way toward the minion you know to be somewhere up ahead.

As you proceed, you start to notice a thin haze in the chamber. An unpleasant odor, but you don't think it particularly harmful, or at least you hope it isn't. A few more moments of travel takes you to the source of the haze. A man with a wide brimmed hat hung over his silver face stands waiting, mirrored by another man, who wears no hat by shares the silver face.

"Ah, about time we got our crack at the beast eh?" The smoker says to his companion.

"Look alive. Based on what we've seen this thing do so far we can't really hold back here." The other says, a serious gimmace on his silver face.

"Yeah yeah, I know I know." The smoker says taking a few more puffs before exhaling the smoke through his nose. Do they even have lungs? Who knows.

Perhaps it is the groggines from your earlier encounter, or perhaps you're simply not expecting the attack to come from the air around you, but you fail to realize that your senses are being dulled. Your movements are sluggish, but no so much so as to be obvious.

Perhaps it is this sluggishness that leaves you slow to respond to the attack that comes from the nonsmoker. As you move in to assail him, a pair of, what you could best describe as the tools exterminators use to spray for bugs, uncover themselves from his sleeves. The twin spray reaches for you in a solid cloud that seems to almost move with purpose, only for your plated minion to react and subsequently unfuse himself from your form.

The hazy blue cloud slowly covers him, and you can feel a sudden outpouring of heat.

You can also sense what your minion is going through. Thin spools of some foreign fiber have spread out through his system. Whether by some mechanical process, or some chemical process, the fibers are funneling all the bodily warmth in your minion out through the top of the blue nanomachines that have settled upon his extremities.
>>
>>2716174
Take them into your body now! You practically scream at your minion, but too late, the damage has been done and your minion finds his outermost mass impossible to control. He's freezing solid on the spot.

As you go to warm him, to provide him with some assistance breaking free of his frozen prison, a purple haze rapidly begins filling the room.

"Ah ah ah," The smoker says clicking his tongue "Didn't forget about me now didja? Why don't you leave your buddy alone and tango with someone who has just the medicine you need." He says as he drops a few canisters to the ground. They seem to be emitting two different shades of purple smoke.

"A shame someone had to go and fry the board, otherwise the ventilation in this hall woulda sucked my smoke right on out of here." He says with a grin.

You feel it working on your senses now, in a way the diluted smoke from before hadn't alerted you. Your vision is becoming foggy, blurred even. As you track the movements of your enemies you see them leaving afterimages in their wake.

You'll shame this man for talking to you like this. You'll teach him some proper respect. But first you have to figure out how to deal with this poison he's dumping into the atmosphere.

How?

>Squash the pair of them, worry about your mental state afterwards

>Prioritize thawing out our plated minion, or at the very least let's get those nanomachines off of him

>Focus one of them down (which) so they can't work together

>Let them know you borrowed a laser gun from their companion, we've hidden that trump card for one whole fight, totally worth busting it out here right?

>Stop breathing while we fight them. It'll put a time table on the fight, but his poison shouldn't be able to disorient us any further (this one can be chosen in conjuncture with any of the other options)

>Other (write in)
>>
>>2716175
>Stop breathing for the moment
>Help Plates

Oh no, our minion! I really don't trust our senses to be able to take out both guys at the moment, so let's get Plates back in action and then murder them once it's not so unbalanced. Not taking any more poison in is a no-brainer.

Say, could we take air from our prisoners? I mean, they have an hour for two in there, and it's not like the fight will last long enough to asphyxiate them if we do.
>>
>>2716175
>Stop breathing.
>Launch our whining hostage at Mr. Smoke and follow up with an attack during his confusion.

That smoke is probably under pressure in his system, so any assault should be made so that we don't rupture a line. The head or center mass should be our target. The former almost guarantees a kill but the latter is easier to hit. Unless there's a tank on his back, then the head is better.

Supporting this.

If we hit him, yay! If we miss, we’ll create our own ventilation!

.....actually, the walls are covered in glass, right? Wouldn’t the laser just reflect off of the walls if we miss? I wouldn’t purposefully aim at the walls to try and find out, but if we miss the smoker guy, then we’ll at least see what happens when the laser hits the walls.

Not quite covered. There's about 2 feet of glass halfway up the wall which is surrounded by a dull grey metal. Based on what you can see you can tell the glass is about six inches thick, with the wall being roughly eight inches thick around it.

Your minion seems to be making some progress. You can feel him gathering his last vestiges of warmth into an isolated part of his flesh, free from the probing tendrils of the icy nanomachines. He slowly works that through his form, avoiding the nanomachines with expert precision and slowly making it's way to his surface. Once there, he begins to bury the nanomachines on his surface with his last bit of pliable matter. As he does so, he absorbs some of the heat they're venting, before crushing the nanos and working on his next section. Bit by bit he begins to reclaim his own body, but you can tell that your enemies are not keen on letting him finish.

You cease your breathing, aware that the more you breathe in, the more danger you'll be putting yourself in. You need to find some way to clear the gas out of the air. Ideally, something that helps knock one of these two pains out of the fight.

You remember the gun you'd stolen from the last threat you'd encountered, and an idea forms in your mind. Perhaps you could obliterate one of these men if you employed that laser weapon that had been such a pain in your amorphous ass.

You produce the gun from your form, angling it out of your body and toward the smoker.

"What in the hell is that?" He asks blinking his silver eyes at the tip of the gun. You squeeze the trigger, but nothing happens. In frustration you squeeze again, and again. The toxins clouding your mind make it difficult for you to think straight, and in a moment of rage brought on by your lessened mental faculties, you smash the gun in a vice of your own flesh, intending to throw the mangled remains of the weapon toward one of the opponents you face. However, as you crush it, whatever source of energy that powers the gun is suddenly rendered unstable. A violet energy begins shining out of your body, the light shining through your flesh like a flashlight through a hand. Your whole body begins to glow and bubble out as the energy begins cracking through your form.

In an instant, you feel the energy ripping you apart. A series of explosions ripples through your body, until violently rippling through the chamber. You feel your flesh being charred into dust, or else just exploding away from your body entirely as the energy rips apart your form.

Those around you are not spared from the explosion. Your minion's still mostly frozen form is shattered at first, before the heat from the energy begins to sear his body the same as it had been burning your own. The shards of your minion quickly thaw and begin to burn.

The nanomachine soldiers just seem to go limp as the energy is released in front of them. Some sort of component of the unstable energy seems to have fried whatever animates them. They are not even caught up in the blast when they go limp, though their bodies are eventually consumed by the blast.

You do not feel unconsciousness take you, but you are aware that you are being awoken.

>>2718157
A single yellow eye stares at you. It is massive, so much larger than you that you think it's surely come to destroy you. However, as you regain your senses you realize that you are staring into the great yellow eye of your spiked minion.

Near you, your plated minion has already begun to reform. Small pieces of charred flesh slowly pulling themselves together to regenerate into a greatly diminished but still living plated minion. The nuances of the situation are lost on you however, as your mind seems fragmented. You slowly come to realize that there are several hundreds of fragments of your mind nearby. You can see them even now, squiggling away back up the hallway from whence you all came.

Some have stopped, and are currently at work digesting small pieces of flesh left behind by the humans who had been contained in your form, and other simply linger nearby.

What do we do? You hear your spiked minion asking the plated minion nearby.

I am not sure. your plated minion says looking at the mass of small fragments of yourself chaotically writhing in the hallway.

Piece me back together! you command, but find that they cannot seem to hear you. You try to reach up and touch your spiked minion, who is still lingering near you, but the connection you usually command when in direct contact with them is simply gone. This is bad.

You have been blown to bits. Your minions cannot hear you. Your mind is a chaotic scattered mess, but more importantly, you are hungry.

So. Very. Hungry.

You cannot imagine anything sating this hunger. You cannot imagine anything, all that you feel is the desire to eat, and to grow. It seems that you are not the only piece of your remnants that has had that thought, as you observe the remainder the flesh, you see one piece in particular is at work hunting down the fragments that had begun to flee towards the exit. It is fast, agile, and strong. Much more so than you are, but it is far away. Perhaps you have time to feed before it finds its way to you.

What do you do?

They’re not going anywhere, so we should grab them while they’re still confused.

The ones eating the human remains should be just like us, meaning they’ll fall asleep, so they’ll be easy to gather after they’ve fallen asleep.

Once our minions can hear us again, we’ve gotta get them to assist us in taking down the big one and catching the fleeing ones!

Or if it’s too late to catch them, then we should leave. We’ve rescued our spiked minion, so there’s no reason to stick around here. On our way out, let’s not forget to gather up the bodies we left back at our entrance from the sewer.
>>
>>2718447
The bodies back at the sewers were actually nanomachine robots I think.

Also it might be possible to still communicate with our minions and to have them help us gather our pieces, but doing so might be a big waste of time.
All we'd have to do is to grab a few pieces of ourselves, go up to our spiked minion (since he's the smarter of the two, and Plates is probably still focused on putting himself back together) and drop the pieces of ourselves, then pick it back up again, absorb all of them, grab more pieces of ourselves, drop them in front of spiked minion again, pick them up and reabsorb, rinse and repeat until he figures out what we're trying to say.

Super risky if we get another bad roll though. What do you guys think? Should we go for it?

What are they doing? Your plated minion's voice asks, filling your head.

I do not know. We will guard this passageway for now. Your spiked minion says, his singular eye staring down the hall from whence it came.

You are currently to weak to exert your control over them, but perhaps if you reform with some of yourself, that may change. These are not thoughts that you have however. You are fully driven by your hunger. You try to lash out instinctively at the nearest blob of flesh which is moving about, but find that you lack the mass and pliancy for your usually tendril formation. This irks you, but you make do. There are some chunks of mass just wandering around in seemingly random directions. Occasionally they'll bump into each other and form into a larger chunk. You move towards the nearest one, which is somewhat smaller than you. You absorb it immediately upon touching it, and feel your size and intellect deepen. You hunger is still present, but it is slightly diminished. You hop through several smaller lumps taking them all into you.

After a short span of hunting, you've already tripled your size, which is not saying much considering your minions still tower over you in the hallway. Even your plated minion, who is perhaps a third the height of your spiked minion, stands some ten times your own height.

You bowl over a few more blobs of mass. One of which had been sitting immobile, simply pulsing. As you took that particular chunk into yourself, you could feel your pliancy returning all at once. Not only that, but your hunger was suddenly far more manageable. Your thoughts become orderly again, and your senses become acute. You look around with new eyes for the situation you find yourself in.

Further down the hall, just as it starts to turn, you can see the larger mass of flesh pouncing agilely on blob after blob. Tendrils spike out of it's significantly larger form as it sweeps up those that ran. It continues down the tunnel, disappearing beyond the curvature of the wall.

Around you there are still dozens of small masses of flesh, wriggling and writhing. Most of them seem to be moving without direction, but one of them is slowly inching towards your plated minion.

I've never seen the master so... the spiked minion starts, but your plated minion stops him.

He absorbed the brunt of that blast... I don't know what caused it, but if not for the master's sacrifice, I would have been obliterated.

None of this would have happened if not for my weakness. the spiked minion says in response.

I do not think the master sees it- saw it? that way.

As he says that, you see the small blob of flesh make contact with his ankle. In that moment, it seems to easily fuse with him. Just as you had tried to do.

What is- The plated minion starts, but immediately it begins struggling.
>>
What is what? The spiked minion asks, finally turning to look at the writhing mess behind it, and the rippling struggle that is overtaking the plated minions form.

It feels... It feels like the master, but so much more chaotic. I-I can't-

His voice is cut short, and a new voice fills the telepathic channels through which you all communicate.

You will serve it starts, but quickly grows less coherent.

I am... will... you will... we... food... all must...

It feels like all over your darker impulses made into one chaotic mass. If you are hunger, it is insane domination. You watch as plated tendrils shoot out from your diminished minion and grab at other blobs of flesh, narrowly avoiding a tendril yourself thanks to your newfound pliancy and awareness. You watch as the tendrils squeeze the mass until it stops squirming, before dragging it to the small lump on it's ankle.

This could be troublesome.

How do you react?

>Let's go down the hallway after the big one. I don't like letting parts of me out of sight

>Let's mop up the rest of these small fries before dealing with one of the other threats present

We can't risk it taking over the plate minion. If he gets full control of the plated minion we won't stand a chance against anything else, we're already weak as it is. Starting over and having to fight an insane version of ourselves with three minions and an evolving lump of flesh spawn would be an incredibly hard battle. Throw in the constant attack from agents and we'll be walking on a knife's edge. Let's end this thing here and now, and even kill it if it means getting some order back.

Misread that as "plated minion is first to die"
This is bad, I don't want to lose pointy bro and plate boi to some piece of us that got turned into a faggot
>>
You see the threat constituted by this anomalous blob of flesh. But more than that, you can sense the anguish your plated minion is in as it violently commandeers his motor function to rip the other blobs of your form into it's own self.

You begin darting toward it, narrowly avoiding the first few tendrils that form from your plated minion's body that try to grab you. You're almost tempted to let it, as you're pretty sure your current level of pliancy would allow you to survive it's squeezing, but you'd prefer not to risk it.

As you get near, a series of tendrils all fly out at once toward you. Grabbing you in an instant and forming a ball around you. It has detected something in you, something dangerous, and seems to have taken some extra precautions.

While housed in the small ball, you try once more to form a connection with the plated minion, but the ability to do so seems completely absent from you in this current state. You feel the ball tightening around you as you hear the spiked minion's voice in your mind once more.

Are you alright?

N-Noooarrrrgh! the plated minion yells, screaming anguish into your shared telepathic channel. You can feel it fighting, trying to will it's own self free from its painful dominion, but utterly failing to do so. In the moment of contested wills, a gap forms in your prison. You immediately begin squirming out of the small hole afforded to you. As you do, a series of pained twitching from your plated minion launches you halfway across the hall. You bounce on the white tiled floor a few times, before coming to a halt near where one of your pieces has begun feasting on a small piece of human flesh. Already small venous tendrils of flesh spawn are beginning to form around it's base, but it is otherwise unguarded. You take this creature as a small consolation prize for your efforts, and watch as your plated minion continues to writhe.
>>
>>2719714
Your spiked minion, for it's part, goes over to your plated minion.

He seems somewhat apprehensive, but he finally fuses his body with the plated minion's.

Together you can feel their twinned anguish filling your mind as they actively try to free the spiked minion from the dominance holding sway in it's body.

The pair stand there a while, not managing to eject it, but they have successfully thwarted it's attempts to consume more of the scraps of flesh that have been left here, at the epicenter of the explosive force that had ripped you asunder in the first place.

It is preoccupied thanks to your minions, but you've been knocked quite a ways away. You might be able to reach it if you try again, but you have no garuntees.

Alternatively, you could finish snapping up the stragglers before engaging again, or even the easy prey that have begun their hibernal sleep while consuming the human flesh. Or you could go after the rest of your self that has escaped further down the hall, in the hopes that you can subjugate the large mass of your flesh that is likely still consolidating it's form.

How do you proceed?

And how about Thorn for Spiked Minion? Yeah, I know, very uncreative.

>Roll results
Yay!

We saved our minions and reabsorbed the rebellious mass! .....but still, holy shit that was close!

I’m assuming that we’ll be able to speak to our minions now, so let’s explain to them what happened and what’s going on right now.

And then casually say, “Oh, yeah, I just now thought of names for both of you. Your (Plated) name is [insert name here] and your (Spiked) name is [insert name here].”
>>
>>2719827

Nope :D
>>

>>2719755
>>
>>2719891
Since the QM plays as them, asking the minions what they want to be named is like asking the QM what their names are. Which defeats the purpose of the QM asking us to give them names.

.....then again, if we did ask them what they want their names to be, the QM can just choose any of the names we suggested and write the update as if the minions thought of those names themselves.

>>2719944
We don’t need anymore rolls!
>>
>>2720075
We should probably give names to the flesh spawn back at home, as well as our other minion.
I suggest Cultist (since the third minion "Cult"ivates)
And the flesh spawn structure can be named Spyro, or Spire.
>>
>>2720156
I think Spire should be called Colony, sine he’s basically a Creep Colony from Starcraft.
>>
>>2720237
Eh, in starcraft terms he'd be closer to a cerebrate.

Anyway, I'm home from work now. Super tired, but will try to get a post out now.

If you guys want me to name them, I can. I have a few options in mind. I just wanted to see your general opinions.

I had thought "Aegis" for the plated minion

And "Sionis" for the spiked minion.

If you wanna go with one of the ones you guys have suggested, the lists are as follows

>Plated
Platy (or plates as I've heard some people affectionately call him)

Scout

Marrow

Carapace

>Spiked

Thorn (x2)

Tank

I will take what you vote for into account and just pick the names I like the best in the end anyway.

Spiked minion: Thorn
>>
>>2720612

>>
You see your minions coming together to end the anguish of your plated minion. They are most likely unaware that they are helping you at this moment. In fact, you're reasonably sure they're just confused about how to proceed without your guiding hand to help them along. You are glad to see that they will at least look after each other until this mess resolves itself. Or rather, until you resolve it.

Whatever these rogue pieces of yourself may think, they are all a part of you. They will learn each and every one of them. You know you are incomplete in many ways, but the sheer audacity that your flesh would scatter into chaos instead of reforming effortlessly as your plated minion had done, even after he'd been shattered to bits. Diminished though he was, his mind was still whole.

You felt nothing but rage toward the insubordinate mass of flesh causing your minions to fall into disarray and anguish. It may be true that we would sacrifice either of them if that was the only way to preserve our own life, but we would never cause them anguish, or truly force them to act in a specific way. You know them to be extensions of yourself. You have spent much time fused with your minions. You know their minds as well as you know own. Loyalty is to be rewarded. Not punished.

Perhaps all you really are at the moment is your memory. Perhaps these wild instincts you rely on run rampant without the knowledge that comes with experience to guide them. You recall your own humble beginnings, and how chaotically you'd acted before you learned of the true dangers this world has to offer. If each of the pieces of you scatter and start to behave in the way you did when you'd first entered the world... The results could be incredibly chaotic to say the least.

This world contained enough danger without the threat of true rivals to contend with. Left unchecked... Who knows what might happen.

At the very least, you will put an end to the existence of the one before you. The one that would cause your faithful followers pain. Who would cause you pain. As it struggles to contend with the combined wills of your minions, you rush in. targeting the small mass of discolored flesh where the other version of you had begun to burrow like some lowly parasite.

While contending with your minions, this piece of you has no trouble at all resisting your assault. Your tendrils stab deep into the core of it's being, drawing it's form into your own before it even knows what is happening.

As it's mass and yours reunite, you can feel the psychic essence returning to your being. Whatever it is inside of you that allows you to speak to you minions returns to you, as does the ability to connect to your minions through simple touch.

Back in control of this vital function, you immediately quiet the discordant voices within your minions, and the three of you return to a state of calm.
>>
We must let none escape. I am sorry for what you have just gone through, but time is of the essence. And as you speak, you can feel them both accept your words. They have felt the true bond they share with you, even if your form is now minuscule, they know you to be you.

You immediately feel your plated minion's determination harden, and before you can issue another command he acts. As he charges a group of some of your smaller pieces, which had been aimlessly wandering, you can sense him steel himself against another mental assault. And even though it comes, it is far weaker than he had expected. Even though the blobs are not much larger than the first one had been, they're far less mentally active. He quickly overpowers them.

Seeing this, your spiked minion, still attached to you, proceeds towards another small group of smaller blobs of your flesh. Towering above them by several orders of magnitude, the tips of his spider-like legs prove themselves every bit as lethal as the large ejectable spikes he produces from one might consider the patella of an average spider.

Having focused primarily on his mental development, your spiked minion has very little trouble picking the small bits off piece by piece, and passing their flesh directly into your own.

With them on your side, this might not be as hard as you'd hoped. But we cannot proceed at random. Though you appreciate their initiative, you have to form some sort of plan.

How do we contain the flood?

>Rush back to the base's beginning, cut off the escape, hopefully before the ones who'd begun running that way earlier make it there. Fuck UNNA, fuck these little pieces of you, you and your minions can take whatever they throw at you.

>Spread out and search every nook and cranny - we can't let a single one escape, and this base will not stay safe for us forever. If we're gonna mop up the ones in the base we'll have to do it now. If some get out, we'll hunt them down later. They won't get far, and they won't escape. Maybe you'll get lucky, and recover the part of you which allows you to sense the locations of other pieces of you. Being unable to sense Sophie and the lair is a little unsettling.

>We don't. Let them run rampant. We'll get them all back eventually of course, but for now let's just let them do their own thing. There's plenty of me to go around, even if I don't know it yet. They won't be a challenge to me. Let's let them get a little fat before we bring them back into the fold. At the very least they'll keep UNNA busy playing cleanup for us. Let's just grab the eight bodies and go home. We got our minion back. What else do we need to worry about?

Rolled 75 (1d100)

You make the decision to split up. While there may still be UNNA forces within the base, you get the impression that it was a research base, and not a militant outpost like the previous base you'd encountered. This base seemed more likely to rely on the technological defenses at its disposal, which you had successfully nullified upon entering the facility. Your spiked minion informs you that they had taken out several soldier type humans upon emerging from their fluid filled prison, but all the other humans they'd encountered had been non combatants, with the exception of one of the silver skinned humans who they'd caught by surprise not far beyond the door leading to the two of you. You instruct him to go back and ensure that none of the pieces of you wandered that way, and to collect as many of the human bodies it'd left behind as it could.

To your plated minion, you instruct him to go and guard the exit. To go as quickly as they were able, so that they might cut off the initial escape. Furthermore, the both of them are to maintain constant telepathic communication with you, so you will be able to come to their aid in the event that they encounter a chunk of yourself that is too much for them to handle. While it's true that you had been greatly diminished in your battles leading up to this point, and that the explosion itself had ripped through a large mass of your flesh, the fact remains that there is far more of your flesh apparently missing than you feel comfortable with. Even if you reassembled all of the flesh you'd already seen, the combined total would be less than half of the size of your plated minion, who was himself far smaller than he'd been when the two of your had started this rescue mission turned scavenger hunt.

You retrieve the mass your plated minion had gathered for you, before sending the two to their respective destinations in search of more pieces of your form.

You spend your time mopping up what's left in the epicenter of the explosion. While you reabsorb the idling and confused blobs nearest you, you ruminate on how you would have acted, had you regained your intelligence here, and not in that dank alleyway. What might you have done, what thoughts would have been present in your mind? You explore the area, finding a subtle crack in the glass, which had been molten in the wake of the explosion, but had cooled into an imperfect version of the barrier it once was.

You also find a fissure in the base of the door, which leads void that exists between the walls from this room and the next. And, while you search the room a bit more for any other nook or cranny that they may have fled into, you find nothing else of promise. You finish by absorbing the pieces of you that are busily digesting the human remnants in the hall, and decide on what to do next.
>>
>>2722796

As you're thinking, your plated minion reports that he has bypassed many of the fleeing blobs and sealed off the exit just as some were reaching the pressurized hatch. He has absorbed a few already, and so far his concentration is holding against their diminished wills.

Your spiked minion too, is focused on the task you've given him. While he's not seen any blobs of you traveling down the way he'd come from, he has acquired three of the human bodies he'd left behind as per your instruction. He is not fully confident that none of your pieces have made it to where he'd been captured, and recalls seeing none on his way to the two of you, but is sure to keep his eye out as he collects the precious resources he'd abandoned earlier in favor of reaching you both more quickly.

How will you proceed?

>Into the door - let's see if anything made its way into the space between the walls.

>Into the window - we're still small enough to hide if we encounter any humans we can't defeat. If anything made it deeper inside the base we might not see them again until they come back to bite us in the ass

>Towards our plated minion - we'll mop up anything in between us and him and relieve him of his mental strain

For the curious

Current Mass 120/120 (1250)
Lucidity 8/8 (27)

Is our current setup

Minion A 150/725
Lucidity 3/12

Is plate's current setup, and

Minion B Mass 260/285
Lucidity 7/7

Is the currently where you guys are right now. Feel free to ask me for these numbers whenever you want. The parenthesis are your old maxes, your plated minion is just hurt, not split up, so he'll eventually regenerate back to where he was if he spends enough time in the flesh spawn. After eating a few bits and scraps of your self, you're back up to almost 1/10th your previous size, but your mental capabilities are nearly a third of their old potential. Your body is much more agile than it was the last time you were this small, and in many ways movement is easier than it had been in your much larger form.

Anyway, enough info dump for now, lemme get 2d100 for your extended search of the area.

Also, lemme get 2d100 for the redoubled search of the room

As a side note, I've noticed a lot of you just link to others with "support" It'd make it easier to tally votes if you'd link my post with your vote, or link the option you're supporting back to my post.

You decide to think. What would you do if you had the ability that you most wanted back. If you were suddenly a tiny blob of flesh, and you could feel, maybe a hundred similarly sized blobs of flesh all appear around you at once. You recall the way it felt, to sense where the others were. When they were above you, and where they were in conjuncture with your own body. As it stands you can still hear them and communicate with them via your shared telepathy, so it probably can't call out to the others around it. It might not even be aware it's possible.

Presented with that, you think perhaps you would have hidden. Found somewhere safe to lay low until there were fewer dangers present.

If such a threat seemed to be actively hunting for you, you'd use your ability to avoid it's senses to your advantage, and try to stay out of sight of it no matter what.

So, you try a new approach. At your current size you can afford to split your mass, if only a little, during your seach.

You send a tendril up to keep an overhead view of the area that you're searching.

You decide to search parts of the obliterated human remains once more, just to ensure that nothing was hidden beneath the chunks of charred flesh. As you move on from body part to unidentifiable body part, you keep your eyes peeled on both the bodies you'll be examining next, and the bodies you've already examined with your eye in the sky, as it were. It is perhaps on the fourth or fifth body chunk that, just before your main mass arrives, you spot a small chunk of flesh fall off of it, and wriggle into the grout of the tiled floor below.

In your previous searches of the room, you'd missed the thin crack that had formed in several directions emanating from the center of the explosion. If not for your second perspective, you may have never noticed the chunk of flesh fall away, as it was perhaps the size of a hook worm when it wriggled into the crack.

As you plunge the crack for any stray bits of matter, you immediately feel a vital part of your mind return to you. While that singular strand of matter does very little to enrich your size or your mental capacity, you can once again sense many things in the world about you. The distant heartbeat of your ever growing lair. The mostly human intelligence of Sophie in the city, somewhere vaguely above you, though not directly above. Both of your minions in their respective parts of the base, and also so many small fragments of what you're sure is yourself.

Your plated minion checks in, saying he's nearing the maxium capicity, and he doesn't know how many more he can control before he has to let a few few.

Your spiked minion checks in, informing you that he's unable to carry more bodies, so he has begun immediately consuming the bodies he's finding in order to get as much out of this mission as possible.

Though you can sense several different chunks of what is essentially you split up throughout the base, you're unable to determine the abilities of the different bits of your essence. You could just try to mop up as much as you can in the hopes of getting good stuff, or you can try to formulate a plan to clean sweep the facility. Or maybe you have something else in mind?

>Head towards plated minion - it feels like the largest chunk of mass is in his direction. We'll beef up on the way and then relieve him of his burdens while we clean up the rest of the lab

>I can feel at least one chunk on spiked minion's end, let's go mop up there and work our way back through the base

>Some of it is definitely in that big central room. Must have gotten in through the cracks in the glass. We'll start there and work our way back out.

>Some of it went down into the floor thanks to the crack in the door. Let's clean up from the inside out.

Also I just noticed we're on page 7 so I should probably start next thread soon.

Awesome! Now to take advantage of our superior mind!

>Head towards plated minion - it feels like the largest chunk of mass is in his direction. We'll beef up on the way and then relieve him of his burdens while we clean up the rest of the lab

>Other (write in)
If possible, give a "psychic shout" reaching every little chuck with a simple sentence like "FOOD HERE. I MAKE YOU BIG AND STRONG. COME".
With luck they'll come to us, including some of the ones running away or hiding.

That write-in is just crazy enough to work!

>We can sense things again.
Oh, good, I was afraid that we wouldn’t be able to find our way home again.

.....although, I don’t see anything about Ana. Can we still not sense her?

>>2723859
>What do?
Let’s head towards plated minion.

If he’s reaching his capacity, then I wouldn’t want him to suddenly have to fight for control of his own body again. And if it feels like the largest chunk of our mass is in his direction, then that’s probably where the giant chunk of our body went, so our minion is going to need our help to fight it off, since it’s most likely going to be stronger than the tiny ones he’s been absorbing!

Rolled 30, 72 = 102 (2d100)

I'd ask you two to please link my post when you vote, it makes it more difficult to count the vote when they're spread out among the various votes they're supporting.

Anyway, it looks like link back up with plates wins it, while we send out a psychic call for the mass to link back up with us.

Lemme get 2d100 and we'll take it from there.

30,72 write up soon. Will make a new thread when I finish.

Afterwards I'll be heading into work, so it'll be a while on the follow up.

This guy's roll doesn't count?

>>2725437
ah you're right, for whatever reason I was looking at my own roll as if it were one of yours.

Sorry, been in a weird way the last few days, I think that shows in all the little mistakes I've made yesterday and today.

Yeah, that's 26/93, doesn't change the result much, but changes it slightly.
