Everwinter company rules and etc.
Welcome to the skirmish Everwinter company, a skirmish set in a high fantasy world where mercenaries lives are weighed in silver and adventurers in gold. You have joined a small mercenary band named [Everwinter company] led by two former adventurers, a theurgist named Lenoy Lockwood, and a Hedge knight named Nygar Tuskbreaker. After being introduced to the others, you head off under the supervision of Lenoy towards a goblin camp to flush it out.
This is a skirmish so to set some ground rules here are a few tips!
Play smart! If you feel insecure about your health don’t go charging in just because you feel confident. A reckless errant is a dead errant! :D
The game uses a intermediate direction for determining movement. If you look to the northeast of the image you will find a set of numbers labeled 1-6. These determine which hexes your char will be moving. 1 means north, 2 means north east, 3 means east, and so and and so forth.

Recap: It's been a few days since the company encountered a minor goblin chief and returned his body back to his blasphemous god along with the thing that he summoned. The company was paid a neat pouch of 125 silvers and told to have some R&R until they were called from the taverns to complete the next contract. The peace the company has had for the past two (2) days is broken by the intrusion of a bedraggled lenoy inspecting a contract as he bursts into the tavern weary eyed.

"Alright mercenaries, it's been two day's and I recently managed to get a new contract out for us. Turns out the dastard over at the crossroads where we fought the...thing. Has a few more buddy's hiding out in a cave, I managed to convince some guilds man to pay us a neat chest of silvers in exchange for handling the problem." Lenoy explains as he looks over the contract with an eyebrow raised before returning to the party.

"Although there are a few issues one the goblins will be expecting us so arm yourselves for a fight. The green skins are clever with traps and even more with blow darts and poisons. So best to bring antitoxins, antidotes and all that. Also best to mind that your going into a cave, so bring torches with you unless you want to imbibe a nights bane if you want to see more than 2 feet."

Alright two days have happened, posting map soon with details on darkness mechanics.

The battle begins as we enter the caves, the lights of our torches and lanterns only able to get so far until it dims to nothing.

>Due to the present state of darkness, each char can only 'see' and reveal three tiles ahead of them suffering a -10 penalty to firing above each tile. [Night's bane] counter acts this by granting them a +10 to they're melee and ballistic skill due to having keen eyesight in the darkness and to the mercenary not depending on a bulky lantern at they're side. In addition to being able to share eyesight with each person while not suffering any penalties in relation to vision.

As we advance towards the cave Marcus first sends out his servant to do his bidding. Lantern in hand it approaches the cave swiftly netting results as it illuminates the body's of the greenskins as we take pot shots with spell and arrow. David along with Batter triggers a simple tripwire that echoes throughout the cave while it has not triggered a trap the implications of what it could lead to are worrying.
During this others mill around casting spells, gathering herbs and calling out to the higher beings in aid. A few other mercenary also emerge from the outside world carrying lanterns or torches. One whose body and face is beginning to resemble more half dragon than man and a errant with a battle chain.
For skitter heart, she receives a flash of insight, a corrupted tunnel that lies at the end of the cave. It seems the company's contract temporarily extended. While Nathan searches the walls and finds a clump of witch moss.

Witch moss: A moss that if consumed stuns then kills a man within minutes, with a bit of effort and know how it can be turned into a lethal venom.

The battle begins as the orcs bellow a cry and charge against out line. Axe clashes against shield and flesh as David parries arrow, axe and spear until two find it's way to his side. Tloxotl meanwhile as he is casting finds himself on the wrong end of a spear as a goblin cackels in triumph as it lands a brutal blow.

The battle with the hobgoblins ends with a meaty thunk as batter's spear goes through the chest of the hobgoblin. Meanwhile, some of the company sets to work on trying to get out of the entrance, looting the enemy and performing occult rituals and identification.
For skitterheart, she notices that the place is slowly being corrupted by a mix of daemonic and undeath. The dirt of the place is speckled with shards of bone dust. As if a troll or some brutish creature made it's home here.
Nathaniel begins to pry through the orcs remains to find a stache of bloodshrooms that if ingested induces a bloodthirsty rage in any that consume it. An orc delicacy to say the least and favored by those that wish to induce such a rage on themselves.
As for Tloxotl she/he (need confirmation on what) performs a quick and dirty ritual that desecrates the hobgoblins into an icon of the sun and in a moment of luck and divine grace the sun outside shines just a bit brighter as the aether calms with the glow of the sun.

Tilea meanwhile creeps on the goblin and looses an arrow that kills. Looking further into the cave she see's a group of lesser adventurers, wrapped in tattered blankets and gear strewn about. What exactly happened to them is best not described for the faint of heart and stomach.

As the greenskins march on they are stopped by the word of the hobgoblin shaman and with a few orcish words the goblins begin to smash down a wall revealing themselves to us and begin there charge. David quickly meets the onslaught of the orc with a riposte while Aram creates two new holes for the orcs.
During this the goblins advance but stop for a moment as one of they're kin is killed by a aether ray. Keeping a healthy distance they bring out blowdarts and volley into batter who is struck by the lucky daggers of a goblin nearly killing him if it were not for his armor and shield while a blowdart strikes him in the neck.

These runes are usually powered either through willpower, blood or simply the energy within the rune. The one you have obtained has the symbol of the sun on it with a sword and tome below it most likely symbol meant to repel darkness or conquer dark creatures.

As the shaman starts to cast and the enemy advances the warriors and revenant work together to stop there advance before Tloxotl on the verge of a breakdown lets out a wail that shakes the cave as tears burst forth from his eyes like a river before ending with a faint sniffle.
Meanwhile an orc manages to clip David in the side before finally bleeding to death as a shaman begins to cast a spell.
