April 15th, 1999.

"Mama, you're not using your stand to walk around anymore. Why is that?" The ill Jolyne asked her mother, who just got done taking her temperature with a thermometer.
"Jotaro's uncle found a way to heal my eyes back to normal. I can finally see you again!" You cheerfully cup your daughter's face, trying to keep Jolyne in a good mood with some positive news despite her sickness.
"Really? I'm so happy..." Jolyne whispers under her breath, showing the exhaustion coming from the little girl. "Papa's uncle sounds like a nice person."
"I think you'd get along with Josuke pretty well. I'll see if he can pay us a visit when you're feeling better, alright?"
"Thanks Mama, you're the best..." You dropped Jolyne on her bed as she thanked you, readying herself for a well deserved nap.

"I can sleep on the couch while hotel staff brings the new bed in." Jotaro volunteers. "Did you get any other symptoms outside of her fever?"
"The fever's a bit down, but she complained about feeling out of energy and having a weak headache. It sounds like a regular viral disease, but given the track record in our family and the transparent fist that punched me earlier..."
"I spoke with the Foundation, they said they're not able to bring the arrow to Japan due to safety protocols. Good grief... This is not looking good for Jolyne."
"Is there any chance we can bring her stand out naturally though?" You suggest. "Think about it, Holly was unable to control her Stand due to not having any fighting spirit in her, but Jolyne's been doing martial arts for a while now. Didn't you need to have some sort of trigger to awake Star Platinum when you were 18? Maybe she needs something like that to help her out."
"Maybe, but unlike back then I don't like the idea of punching Jolyne with Star Platinum. It's possible, but we'll have to wait for her to get better--"

"Is Avdol here?" Kakyoin opens the door, interrupting the conversation.
"No, why?" Jotaro replies.
"Last time I called him he was around Josuke's block and that was half an hour ago, I think he got lost after we started taking care of Jolyne." Kakyoin toys with his car keys, worrying about his Egyptian friend.

>Can't you go after Avdol by yourself? We're a bit busy, sorry.
>Jolyne's about to sleep, We can all search for him no problem.

Ok, who's staying with Jolyne then, Jotaro or Hitomi?
Kakyoin can stay instead but since he's the one driving cars here it'll take longer for Jotaro and Hitomi to find Avdol if you pick this duo.

"You two are free to go, but I need to stay with Jolyne, better safe than sorry right?"
"Damn right you are. We'll call back once we find Avdol, it shouldn't be that hard to spot a guy like him. Later." Jotaro follows Kakyoin to the parking lot, leaving you to tend to Jolyne's disease.

"This place has no lights, Avdol. Keicho purposefully let his house stay dimly lit so we would have a hard time looking for Koichi!" Josuke told the fortune teller as they both climbed up the second floor of the Nijimura household.
"Please Josuke, didn't you see Magician's Red's flames a little while ago? I can control fire! Looking for Keicho and your friend should be a total cakewalk." Avdol summons a fire ward to properly illuminate the staircase.
"WHY JOSUKE!!" Okuyasu startles the two Stand users by shouting at them from the first floor. "Why aren't you healing your twisted leg like you did with me and the other guy?"
"Crazy Diamond can't heal my own wounds, Okuyasu. Life just isn't fair. That also means I have no way of saving dead people on my own. Now that you're aware of that, I'm warning you that if Koichi dies, I don't even know WHAT I'm gonna do to your brother. So don't hold it against me when we were both just minding our own business before he shot an arrow on our throats, got it?"

Okuyasu audibly swallows, nodding his head after being intimidated by Josuke.
"Good, now please get out of the way, I need to go after--"
"AAAAH!" Koichi is heard screeching like a banshee in the 2nd floor.
"It's him! Hurry up Avdol!" Josuke uses Avdol's shoulder for support as the both reach Koichi's level.
"Wait, I can tell where he is just from the screams, it's the 4th room to the right." Okuyasu proclaims. "Maybe it's because I'm stupid, but I just act on what's in my heart. Just once, I'll help you as a way to repay my debt. I won't help out my bro or you two during the fight though, that's between you and him, just like you said. All I'm doing is rushing what's already going to happen."
"That's just great. Thanks, Okuyasu." Josuke grins after seeing the younger brother reluctantly stepping down from the brawl, happily surprised to notice a sense of justice growing on the kid.

"Hey Avdol, find anything resembling Bad Company yet?" Josuke asked.
"Not really, he must be saving everything he's got for when we enter that room. I've had too many Stand encounters to know where this is going. Crossfire Hurricane!"
Magician's Red melted down the wooden door where Keicho was supposedly hiding, being bombarded with bullets and grenades shortly after it.
"DORARARARARARARARARA!" Crazy Diamond deflected the bullets that managed to pass through Avdol's fiery walls, their combined efforts managing to successfully nullify Keicho's bombardment.
"Trying to catch a 38 year old fortune teller off guard? Tsk-Tsk, think again!" Avdol confidently pointed to the older Nijimura brother sitting down with Koichi across the room, presenting his Stand at full display.

"Cease Fire! Cease Fire!" several toy soldiers lowered their machine guns, pistols, snipers and rocket launchers and prepared to reload, all of them circling around Keicho and an injured Koichi, who was holding a green egg in his arms.
"Ah! What the hell is going on? Josuke and Avdol have stands too?" Koichi protected his egg after seeing everyone's offensive stance.
"Wait, since when are you able to see stands Koichi?" A confused Josuke probed for information.
"The brat over there managed to survive the arrow shot thanks to your Crazy Diamond. Consequentially, that gave him a stand somewhat different from the others." Keicho points at Koichi's egg. "I've been spending the past 2 minutes analyzing him to see if it has any other sort of ability, the shrimp might be able to do what I'm looking for due to it's unconventional creation."

"Huh? What do you want to do with his Stand?" Avdol asks.
"As if I'd ever tell you, old timer. Thanks to all this derailing, my only target today is Josuke Higashikata, so don't get in my way if you don't have a death wish." Keicho adjusts Bad Company's formation to circle around himself and Koichi once more, this time bringing in several miniature army helicopters and military tanks to the mix.
"You think I'm afraid of that Toy Story knock-off you call a Stand? Just try me!"

>Go all out, burn down his army before it can shoot you.

>>
>>2689150
"Avdol, take out the gunships! We can deal with the soldiers later!"
"Understood! Take this!" confusing the heat sinking missiles shot from Bad Company, Magician's Red was able to partially detonate Keicho's army with their own explosives.
"Come here, Koichi! We're getting you out of here!" Josuke lunged at the toy soldiers with his good leg, pulling Koichi by the wrist and taking him away from the firefight.
"Josuke! Watch out!" Not knowing the rules of Stand fighting or how to withdraw his own Stand, Koichi blocked an incoming grenade from Josuke and pressed the green egg against his body, resulting in the giant egg tanking most of the blast for Josuke and the boy.

*CRACK*
As they both dropped to the ground, Josuke was quick to stomp on the nearby troopers, who were reloading for the next wave of bullets.
"Damn it, killing one or two of Bad Company doesn't injure Keicho in the slightest, but at least we've taken enough of them out for you to run away Koichi... Koichi?" Josuke stares at the white harried kid laying down on the floor, who had a yellow and red goop oozing below him.
Turning the poor boy around, Josuke realized the attack from Keicho prematurely cracked Koichi's egg open, shown by the broken pieces of the egg along with Koichi's unmoving body.
"You fool! Why did you go after the shrimp? Koichi was never my target in the first place!" Keicho is mildly frustrated at the sight of Koichi's stand being destroyed, all while Josuke desperately tried to revive Koichi's Stand by fixing his egg.
"Koichi! Don't you die on me, man! Fixing a body's person back to normal is one thing, but I don't know how a Stand Egg works. Come on! DON'T DO THIS TO ME, KOICHIII!"
Feeling sorry for the student, Avdol places a hand on Josuke's shoulder and tries to see a way of bringing Koichi back to the best of his knowledge.

"I apologize for informing you Josuke, but once the Stand has been destroyed, the user dies as well due to Stands being an extension of their soul. Koichi's stand was defeated before it even had a chance to develop itself. The situation asked too much for a beginner like him." Avdol is sad to explain.

"This wouldn't have happened if you didn't go after him, Josuke! Now I'll never know if he would help me with my plan!" Keicho snaps.
"You son of a bitch... A human being just died right in front of you and all you care about is your stupid plan... You're disgusting." Josuke's firm voice and aura of hatred was fully felt by the two other users in the two other users in the room, who took a step back as Josuke stood up, limping in Keicho's direction.
"You can't even walk straight, what do you even plan on doing?" Keicho mocks him.
"Josuke, don't do anything rash!" Avdol's warning falls on deaf ears.
"I told Okuyasu that I had no idea of what I would do if something happened to Koichi, but now that it's sinking in that you took this innocent boy from his way to school, forced him into a fight he never asked for and now you don't even have the balls to take responsibility for his death... I'm starting to get a few ideas..."

Before I go just wanted to say dust you seem to have some trouble with writing deaths this one and billy's were both pretty weak.
>>
>>2689413
I'm aware of that, I'm usually split between writing the aftermath of the character's death after the main event or to focus on the character's reactions when the character dies. I think I gave Iggy a pretty good send off so maybe it's a selective problem
>>
>>2689379
Me too, though I think that killing him off this quickly might be a bit much for a single critfail. Poor guy.
>>
>>2689440
Yeah, crippling him seems more in line, seeing as how things went with Diavolo.
>>
>>2689413
To be fair it's King Crimson is basically 'rocks fall, everyone dies' the stand so it makes sense for Billy to have a sudden death like that.

>>2689440
>>2689446
With Crazy Diamond + Tonio on tap anything less that death is merely a slap on the wrist in this part desu. Plus we did crit fail in a hostage situation while trying to extract said hostage (who has the constitution of wet tissue paper due to not fully activating his stand, to boot).

"Don't be such an idiot. Bad Company--" Keicho was about to attack Josuke once more, but he didn't predict Avdol's signature blazing rope to restrict him of his movements.
"Where do you think you're going? RED BIND!"
"Thank you Avdol, time to punch Keicho's brains out. DORARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARA!" Crazy Diamond punched him so hard that it managed to tear off Avdol's Red Bind, sending the older Nijimura plummetting from the 2nd floor to the house's basement.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLhR2M7rw3Q
"He'll live, unlike Koichi... Crap... And we were just getting to know each other..." Josuke's angry facade faded as his sadness came back in. "Koichi was a good friend, so to see him suddenly killed off like that, just before he had a chance to develop himself, it's just..." He stops talking, not wanting to tear up further than he already was.
"Josuke, I can't imagine how you must be feeling." Avdol frowns, feeling the grief in Josuke's expression. "It really is just as you said before climbing the stairs, life is not fair. I didn't get to know that boy as much as you did, so I don't think I have the right to do much else than hope he finds peace in the afterlife.
"He was my classmate, had a family and all. A bit shy and meek but I tried making him come out of his shell for the past few weeks." Josuke opens up, reminiscing of a fond memory.
"Was it working?"
"Yeah, I helped him practice his speech overnight when he was too nervous for a class presentation. It was tiring, but on the following day he managed to tell everything to his class without stuttering once, got a straight 100! I even saw a few girls complimenting him later in the hallway."
"He sounded very hardworking for his age."
"Indeed, all he needed was that little push to believe in his potential, to overcome his shyness and be the brave man he was always meant to be... Knowing that he'll never get to that point now...Saddens me to no end..." Josuke cleans his teary eyes, trying to snap back to reality.
"It's not all over when people die Josuke, I've experienced it myself. While death itself is nothing short of tragedy and misery, we manage to live on after that, and it's not because people just stop thinking about their deceased loved ones." Avdol argues.
"What do you mean?"
"When you really think about it, our loved ones never would have wanted us to feel bad about them for a long time, coming to peace with death means acknowledging that your memories with people who passed away become a lot stronger, they have bigger meaning because that person lives on in your thoughts and hopes for the future. If they wished happiness upon their loved ones, it's up to them to fulfill a person's dying wish after their period of grief is over."
"Those were... very wise words, Avdol-san." Josuke looked back to the fortune teller, astounded by his spiritual side. "But at this point I don't know what exactly Koichi's long term wish would be, either for me or himself."

We just need to ensure that he will reach heaven when all of this is done.

He will clear the path for Karma Chameleon

I am curious to see how this will impact Okyasu. He’s pretty dense at this stage of the game but I don’t think he’d feel too good about what happened with Koichi. I foresee a lot of friction Keicho.

I’m curious to see how Keicho might develop too, provided that he stops trying to be a bargain bin Dio Brando.

>He would want his loved ones to be happy.

That's the reason Echoes hatched in the first place. And if anyone would know the last wishes of a ghost, it'd be a fortune teller. That said, "Give it time and you will soon discover" is also suitably fortune-telly. Better, actually, so I'll still be happy when that wins.

"I wouldn't know either Josuke, but give it time and you will soon discover, it's a personal answer that will only get clear after your grief is over." Avdol responds, leaving Josuke alone with his thoughts.
"I'm going down to the basement. You said Keicho had an arrow on him right? I'll try to get it from his so we can all get some closure in today's story."
"Right behind you..." Josuke leans over the wall and follows Josuke down to the basement, being guided by the holes in the ground and broken furniture.
Finally arriving, Josuke and Avdol spot an unconscious Keicho on the ground, breathing heavily and bleeding from his wounds, but not particularly in critical condition.
"Did you hear that?" Avdol stopped dead in his tracks after hearing the sound of chains yanking inside a closed door.

"I don't remember them saying anything about a third person living here. Maybe it's their dog?" Josuke approaches the door, disgusted to see the creature inside.
A short, round creature with green blistered skin moaned after seeing the sunlight, it's grotesque screeching echoing through the basement and freezing the duo in place until Okuyasu stepped in.
"Big Bro! Where are you? I heard the noise and thought Josuke--"
"EEEH! OOOH! AAAH!"
"Dad! What are you guys going to do with our father?"
"DAD?"
"FATHER?" Josuke and Avdol spoke in unison.

Stupid fucking Okuyasu... always going out of his way to spill everything out..." Keicho struggles to stand up, preparing an explanation for why their remaining parent has such a monstrous appearance.

"Stupid fucking Okuyasu... always going"Stupid fucking Okuyasu... always going out of his way to spill everything out..." Keicho struggles to stand up, preparing an explanation for why their remaining parent has such a monstrous appearance.
"Stay away from me!" Shoving the his deformed parent against the wall, Avdol and Josuke witnessed the foul creature's torso melt into sludge during the impact, as if his body lacked any consistency whatsoever to resist opposing forces.
"AAAAH! EEEEH!" The patriarch's loud sobs were echoed in the Nijimura sibling's ears while they uncomfortably watched the green melted figure regenerate his back, eating the remainders that stuck to the wall and cowering in fear behind a red chest.
"Wait a minute. That bow above that creature and the chest... Is it the arrow?" Avdol pointed it out to Josuke, to which the alerted Keicho responded by wobbling his way to the bow and arrow and cradling both artifacts in his arms

"Yes and yes... That thing right there is our father..." The whimpering Keicho is hesitant to admit, an astouding feeling of shame and sadness being felt on his voice and composure. "The bow and arrow... He needs these... I want to find a Stand user for my dad's sake. This is why I can't let anyone else have their way with this arrow no matter what!"
"Oh, now you give me a sob story..." Josuke bitterly comments, not wanting to hear Keicho's justifications after what he did to his friend.
"Wait Josuke, this might be important." Avdol hushes Josuke dow, willing to give the older Nijimura brother a means to explain himself. "What happened to your father, is it some kind of disease?"
"Disease? No. My dad is perfectly healthy despite his weird appetite..." Keicho's legs give out as he sits on the floor, reluctantly getting eye to eye with his dad. "But he just keeps moaning all day long, and he doesn't even recognize Okuyasu and I as his children."
"Big Bro hid him here in the basement and chained him up so he wouldn't leave... I don't really like the idea, but something about seeing him dig this empty chest forever makes me feel uneasy..." Okuyasu states.
"So you did all of this wanting to fix your father?" Josuke gave him the benefit of the doubt.
"Fix? Hahahahaha! That's not it... That's not it at all!" Keicho starts laughing, but his fake cackling soon shifts to a runny nose and eyes full of tears. "It's the exact opposite. I want a Stand who can kill my father! He refuses to die, no matter what! I tried everything! Smashing his head in, grinding up his body, ripping his limbs off, nothing works! I just want him to die normally. I made a promise to Okuyasu that I wouldn't let we all live in this miserable state forever, I need the bow and arrow for him to die!"

Feeling a bit bummed out desu. My immune system went all over the place after I moved to a new apartment, irl stuff got in the way again when I wanted to write the game and when I do find the time I scare some people off by killing Koichi, maybe that last one was justified but adding it all up takes a hit on your motivation, you know?

Eh you can't please everyone Dust, don't beat yourself up about it.

Honestly I think people were getting overly salty due to the shock of losing a main character in what is essentially an intro battle + being spoiled with the overall lack of critfails this quest has had (iirc we're only had ONE other in like over 20 threads) + being pissed at you for writing him out of the story just like that.

"What made him this way? Don't get me wrong, I'm still not forgiving you for what you've done, but if something pushed you as far as to consider killing your father, I can't deny that you're in a bad spot."
"DIO... It's all that bastard DIO's fault for implanting his altered cells in my father's head! That's why he ended up like this!" Keicho's confession takes Avdol by surprise, but leaves no impression on Josuke.
"D-DIO? Are you talking about the vampire who hid in Egypt during the 80s!?" Avdol shouts.
"Vampire? The hell are you on about, Avdol-san? Are you saying you know the guy who did this to Keicho's dad?" Josuke pressed for answers.
"You mean Jotaro didn't tell you?"
"We haven't really gathered for a talk ever since we took down Angelo. I don't recall Jotaro talking about vampires when we were hanging out..."

"Wait, Avdol? Mohhamed Avdol, the stand user who joined Joseph Joestar to defeat DIO in Egypt? Guess I was too focused on Koichi's Stand to pay attention to your name... No wonder I lost, you are light years ahead when it comes to Stand experience..." Keicho chuckles to himself, sarcastically making fun of his own defeat and complimenting Avdol's Magician's Red.
"I'm a bit lost here... would you mind giving the newbie some context? I have no idea on what you're both talking about." Josuke intervenes.
"It's only fair to tell you about the past, Josuke Higashikata. After all, you're not completely uninvolved: It all happened 11 years ago, in early 1988. We were living at Tokyo at the time, I was seven and Okuyasu was four. The bubble economy at the time made most of Japan pretty carefree for most citizens, it was surely a great decade for the country except for my family. My mother died of an unknown illness, and the business my dad was running went under, putting him in a massive debt." Keicho finally opened up his heart about his family issues.
"He would always come home late at night to hit us for no reason... Big Bro would protect me when he could, but part of me doesn't want to remember what happened when I was little..." Okuyasu added.
"He was a total loser. But suddenly money started rolling in to our father. Even jewels and precious meals too sometimes. After doing some research when I got older, I found out he sold his soul to DIO. He became one of his minions in exchange for money due to the vampire's obsession for stand potential. I never found out what dad's Stand did, but I suppose he didn't care either as long as the dough came in he was happy to aid DIO in his wicked ways."

>Was he still abusive to you and Okuyasu when he got rich?

I've had similar thoughts a while ago,I have yet to see a quest with such consistently good rolls so anons might have gotten accostumed to it. As much as I love Jojo and the cast I've always stated I'm not afraid of killing anyone off if the situation calls for tragedy, but even with Koichi dead it's still pretty one sided towards positive changes to the story.
DIO got stomped with most of the cast being alive and well to this day, not mentioning the several lives spared in the trip to Egypt. Diavolo (Half of him, anyway) got killed off with minor casualties and Passione stopped being Italy's boogeyman thanks to Nero's command. Admittedly it got repetitive on my end sometimes to write "Tada! You win ez pz!" several times over in different ways, but I don't regret it since this meant giving room for more time spent with other characters (i.e part 3.5). Bailing because of the one time something bad happened was unexpected, but now that I've already done it I don't mind proceeding. Thanks for the words though, It's good to have some food for thought.

"Do you think your mother had a viral Stand disease?" Avdol asked the blonde teenager.
"Maybe, I wouldn't doubt it given how everyone in my family has a Stand, but I don't think that's relevant to the topic, not anymore at least..." Keicho lamented, still missing his mother after all these years.
"Wait, who the hell is this DIO guy and why is he so important? I don't get why I'm involved in the story when I've never heard of a single vampire before." The uninformed Josuke tried to get a grip on his relation to DIO.
"Joseph Joestar is your biological father, right? In 1988, your fever during the spring was caused by DIO's arrow passively awaking the Joestar family's Stand powers. Jotaro Kujo's mother, Holly was unable to control her stand, but killing DIO meant his stand wouldn't affect the rest of your bloodline, effectively stabilizing hers and leaving you in full control of your Crazy Diamond."
"What!? So my father ended up saving my life without either of us knowing it...?" Josuke pondered over the revelation. "All those days staying sick at home... It was all due to DIO?"
"Correct. Avdol, Joseph and Jotaro's friends effectively ended DIO's reign over Egypt, but the consequences still live on to this day... Even though it was ten years ago, I remember it vividly..." Keicho retold the traumatizing tale from his childhood.
"I was coming back from school when I saw Okuyasu crying in the living room, speechless. I thought he just took a beating from father again, but when I went to the kitchen I saw Dad's flesh turning green as his face and body started to melt. 'DIO's dead! I am done for! The flesh bud has gone berserk!' Were the last words I heard from him."

"A year after that, he turned into this green midget who can't talk, he has no reaction when seeing us either." Okuyasu sobbed at his dad, who was searching the empty chest as if it was full of loot.
"DIO would implant his own cells into the heads of those he couldn't trust and ordem them around when he wanted to. When he died, Dad's body just didn't resist to the changes and his cells went out of control." Keicho concluded.
"So this is what happened to the victims of DIO's flesh buds? I thought we were doing good by killing him, but given how many contacts he had outside of Egypt... Who knows how many people are still suffering to this day..." Avdol shook his head, feeling partially responsible for Keicho's suffering. "To think Polnareff and Kakyoin could have had a similar fate if it wasn't for the flesh buds being removed..."

"Do you understand how hard this was for me to deal with as a kid? I became obsessed with finding out about what happened with him. I learned about Stands, Enya, and even retrieved an arrow myself. but as I learned all of this, I accepted father wouldn't come back because DIO's immortal cells are now fused with him." Keicho points at his father with anger in his eyes.
"See this? It's all he does, every single day... For 10 years! He uselessly scratches around that box of junk! If I throw it away or take it from him he does nothing but cry! It's sickening, watching him like this makes me hate the idea of living!"

Keicho crawls to the chain holding his father by the neck and yanked at it with full force, despite not having the strength to stand up or punch him, he choked his own father in other to calm down.
"OOH! AAAH AAAH!"
"How many times have I told you to stop doing that! stop digging around in that fucking box! I hate it!" Keicho ignored his father's pleads for mercy as he deprived him of oxygen, a sight Okuyasu refused to watch.

>Stop hurting him, he doesn't deserve it.

"Hey Okuyasu, why aren't you doing anything?" Avdol questions the younger brother's inaction to the physical abuse happening in front of him.
"Big Bro gets mad at me when I get in his way, he always punches dad to calm himself down when he's feeling sad or angry. I don't like seeing Big Bro doing this, but according to him all I'm good for is following his orders..." Okuyasu speaks up.
"Turns out the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..." Avdol notices how the Nijimura patriarch's violent outbursts rubbed off on Keicho, with Okuyasu being on the receiving end of both perpetrators.
"Keicho, did you ever see what was inside that chest? Maybe there's a reason he keeps repeating the same act over and over again." Josuke approaches the container.
"Of course I did! There's nothing inside, yet he keeps diggin to the side as if there was something there!" Keicho's statement contradicted with what Josuke saw when taking a closer look at the box, which had a folded piece of paper scrap stuck on the furniture.
"Crazy Diamond!" Josuke's Stand tried to revert the dirty paper back to a previous state, as more and more scraps formed a full picture in Josuke's hands, he gave the green monster what the item he wanted, a family photo consisting of all 4 Nijimura family members.

"Here, this is what you wanted right?"
"WAAAH-HAAAAA!"The family man bawled as he lovingly stared at his wife and kids smiling back to him in the picture, reminding him of the life he could never go back to.
"He still remembered... He still remembers us, Big Bro..." Okuyasu took the chain out of Keicho's hand after seeing his father crying , with Keicho silently dropping the bow and arrow and hanging his head low in silence, covering his face as the full story dawned on him.
"I doubt Crazy Diamond can heal his body since he's technically healthy, but it wouldn't hurt to try. And even if it doesn't work... Avdol and I could search for a Stand that cures your dad." Josuke offers his help, taking everyone aback since he was the least one interested in Keicho's story at first.
"Josuke... Even after all of that you're still willing to help out Keicho?" Avdol admired his sense of justice.
"I still don't like him one bit, but after seeing what he and his family went through... Killing him wouldn't do any good, if he's willing to give us the arrow and start a new life, I'm willing to give him a second chance."
"But... I killed so many people in Morioh... I even killed Koichi a few minutes ago. I thought I had to kill my father so my life could begin, but now that you've proposed another option... Then that just renders all I did for the past 10 years entirely pointless!" Koichi's death apparently was the straw that broke the camel's back for Keicho, finding himself stuck in an impass between hading the arrow and refusing the offer due to being afraid of the consequences.

I get the feeling that Keicho knows all too well how families can be broken, given how theirs was torn apart even when their abusive jerk of a father was turned into his pitiable state. "Okuyasu, you know him better than us, do you have anything to say?" Josuke invites the passive brother to aid in his brother's conversion.
"Big Bro... let's stop this, ok? Dad might get cured, right? Even if he's body doesn't go back to normal, his memories are still here. Everyone's forgiving you, I'm forgiving you, this is our second chance at life!" Okuyasu tugs on his brother's shoulder.
"What second chance? We never had one to begin with! What's the point of trying to live a normal life now? I never finished school because I had to take care of you! Do you think I can work enough to maintain this house? I'm surely going to jail for all I did! People like us Stand users always getting sabotaged by association, it's no use!"
"We have it harder than most people, but now that I'm reaching 40, I can't say I've regretted the path my life has taken me to." Avdol replies. "It's a rocky road, but the good deeds are always rewarded, Keicho. All you have to do is to give yourself a chance."

Feeling backed into a corner, Keicho moves away from the arrow, letting Avdol pick it from the ground.
"Good choice." Josuke healed both brother's injuries, giving a shot at their father, but it only appeared to have glistened his skin. "Thought so..."
"AVDOOOOOOOL!" Kakyoin is heard screaming at the top of his lungs, searching for the Egyptian man outside the house.
"Don't ever shout in my ear again." Jotaro closed his fist, pissed off due to being in the way of Kakyoin's shriek.
"Didn't you see the guy creeping over that window? Something had to be inside for him to take a look, maybe it's Avdol." Kakyoin argued.
"I highly doubt that."
"Jotaro-san!" Josuke shouted back, knocking on the window so the crusaders could be alerted of their presence.
Sneaking out of the basement window, the four of them came out of the house to greet the duo.
"A-Avdol? What were you doing in there?" Jotaro was pleasantly surprised at the sight of the old fortune teller.
"See? Why don't you ever listen to my ideas?" Kakyoi shrugged.

"Long time no see, Jotaro! Is it finally my turn to see Jolyne for the first time?" Avdol greeted his buddies with a manly hug.
"Of course, feel free to visit my room." Jotaro awkwardly snuck out of Avdol's arms.
"And what about you, Kak? I barely recognized you with that new outfit of yours."
"I had to change my sense of fashion after living on my own for a few years, sticking to old robes and mono-colored jackets isn't really my thing anymore." Kakyoin joked around after seeing a familiar face.
"What brought you over here, Avdol? Morioh Grand Hotel is a few roads away so you would have found it if you kept walking, was there a problem?" Kakyoin mentioned the elephant in the room, to which Avdol explained in full detail about the bow and arrow, The Nijimura family and Koichi's untimely demise.

"I don't know, I would feel sorry for the kid, but after hearing all of these murders..." Kakyoin thought to himself.
"It's all true though, Koichi's body is still there, but non Stand users wouldn't know he got murdered since his stand got destroyed. I'm ready to be sent to jail if that's what you all wish for." Keicho accepts his fate, regardless of what they thought of him.
"Don't be like that Aniki, it sounds like you're just giving up..." Okuyasu voices his worries.
"I'm an adult now Okuyasu, I can take responsibility for my actions, I'm sure you could use the time without me to learn what to do with yourself." Keicho dismisses his brother, wanting to stay on point.
"I do admit I feel bad for his family, but to wrongs don't make a right. If I was my grandpa I'd send him to jail. Although Grandpa would probably ask for rehabilitation for his case since he's genuinely sorry." Josuke gives his two cents on the subject.
"He gave us the arrow, right? A truly bad guy like the ones we've faced wouldn't willingly do that unless he really wanted to change, then again the thought of letting him go after he killed Koichi also doesn't sit well with me." Jotaro frowns.
Seeing how everyone had their own thought about what to do with Keicho, Avdol tried to see if the group could reach a consensus.

"Keicho should go to jail, we can help Okuyasu and his father." Avdol's firm statement sounded harsh to Okuyasu, but deep down Keicho knew he had it coming.
"How long will I be there?" Keicho wonders about his jailtime.
"I doubt there will be a fine since you have killed over two people, but given you're still 18 and will assumingly plead guilty... You're looking at around 5 to 7 years behind the bars." Josuke gave him an estimate from overhearing his grandfather's previous cases.
"Sounds like a long time to spend alone, but I'll try to make it go faster by obeying the law..." Keicho sighs.
"Good, you're already in the right mindset." Jotaro pulled up his phone. "Call your grandfather, Josuke."
"Right, I'll uh... Contact Koichi's family while I'm at it. Poor guy..." Josuke dials up the police station and waited for Ryohei to arrive...

"They're going to take my Big Bro away... What am I going to do, Avdol-san?" Okuyasu said as the police officers came to arrest Keicho.
"You'll learn what to do without me eventually, Okuyasu. Go to school, make friends, just do something I wouldn't do for once..." The handcuffed brother gave him advice before departing.

"Ko-Chan! Where is he? Let me through!"
"Miss, don't touch him, we need to check him for the autopsy!"
Koichi's mother is heard crying along with her family as Koichi's body is taken away from the 2nd floor of the building, with the ambulance still hopeful on bringing him back to life.
"I told them Koichi got poisoned, don't know if it will hold up if they check his body, but it's not like they'll ever figure out what really killed him..." Josuke came out of the crowd, done talking to his grandpa and the police.
"We got the arrow, but there really were no winners today when it comes to this story..." Kakyoin said, noticing Josuke going back home.
"Hey kid, are you going to be alright?" Jotaro asked, noticing the teenagers guilty conscience.
"Yeah, It's just... I have school tomorrow and have to take care of a few things back home. I'll be fine, I just need some time to think." Josuke waved goodbye with a neutral expression, thus ending the group's interactions for the day.

Is the SW Foundation going to take a look at Okyasu’s father? Having a human/vampire hybrid that doesn’t seem to need to eat and doesn’t have a lethal reaction to sunlight sounds like something worth looking into.

I feel really bad for Koichi's mom. I wonder how that Lock asshole is going to come into play? I really hate that guy.

On the other hand, it seems like Keicho might become the complete colt of Part 4. Or at least he could've if I were faster at voting. I do feel bad for him since Koichi's death was an accident. Of course, his guilty conscience, past crimes, and the Japanese Legal System point to the result being murder rather than manslaughter.

Unrelated note: I'm playing 7th Stand User as Miracles, and the game glitches out whenever I try to use the Paranoia Psyche combo with Iggy. Is there any way to fix that, or do I just gotta deal with it?

Only if you give them a thumbs up, Hitomi's the one who would be interested in the info due to her research.
>>2697302
Tamami will scam people for a little longer until someone else catches him in the act. 7th stand user is prone to crashes since it's not being updated anymore, you'll probably just have to deal with it.

Also while I'm not keen on playing on Mondays I can open an exception for tomorrow since I got a free day. I was really looking forward to playing yesterday so it might be fun to screw around in Morioh now that the story heavy arc is over and it will be a while before the crusaders get involved with the Duwang gang for canon Stand fights again. If you guys aren't able to show up I could still do a write up on Jotaro and Kak visiting Tomoko and how that turned out. Maybe both if I have the time.

*Ring Ring Ring Ring*
You hear the phone from the living room while you were watching Jolyne sleep. She was twitching and moving around a lot so you were worried she would fall off her bed or that she was having a nightmare. But seeing how that phone won't stop pestering you until you answer it..."
"Hello?" You answer, expecting Jotaro to be on the other end of the line given how long he's been out.
"Oh! Is this Jotaro Kujo's wife Hitomi? 'Nice to meet you, miss. I gotta say you're looking wonderful today!' Is what I would say if I knew what you were wearing." A cranky male voice openly hits on you.
"I don't recognize your voice, who are you?" You close down the curtains and take a peek on the windows, trying to spot any creep who could be watching you.
"Who I am is not important, Ms. Kujo. I'm asking you and your group to leave Morioh as soon as you can." The young man warns you.
"Why should I be afraid of you? You'll have to try harder than making a crappy booty call to make me leave this hotel." You nonchalantly reply, not caring in the slightest about his empty threats.

"I had a little meet up with Jotaro and Kakyoin. They found a really nice bow and arrow and tried to give it to the Foundation. Too bad I got in the car and killed those workers!"
"You what?" The antagonist's declaration shifts the mood of the conversation.
"What, do you really think 4 unarmed men in a truck are enough to defend the arrow against any smart Stand user who knows what they're doing? You guys really have to watch out for security." The mysterious man laughs.
You attempt to check the telephone's digital screen to discover his number, but "UNAVAILABLE NUMBER: PUBLIC PHONE" being displayed shows the murderer was predicting your move.
"I don't mind killing any of you in the hotel, the only tough opponent against my Stand should be Jotaro's time stopping Star Platinum. But I don't want to ruin a family woman's life like that, so I thought of giving you a warning first."

>Who are you?

"I'll ask you one more time in case you didn't hear me, who are you?" You repeat.
"I aint telling you squat. It took me a long time to figure out how to use my Stand on phone lines, I'm not revealing my identity after all the trouble I went through!" He fails to notice the irony in his reply.
"Aha! You're using your Stand to call me! Got it!"
"What? No! That's now what I meant to say--"
"Nuh-uh. It's too late to take it back now. You were so keen on hiding your name that you gave me a piece of information I didn't even ask for." You provoke him after seeing how his smartass act fell flat on his face.
"So what? That's completely unrelated! What are you going to do about it?" The man growls.

"Keep asking questions, of course. Why are you even interested in the arrow?" You take the lead in the exchange now that the caller lost his focus.
"Look, I don't plan on beefing with you, I would already have done something by now. And as long as Josuke or the others don't do anything with me, no harm will be done. I just received this Stand ability, you feel me? I'm fed up with worrying about entrance exams and getting a job. A guy like me needs little fun."
"So you're a student? That should narrow my search down." You pick up on another piece of the criminal's personal life.
"GRRR! You're so annoying! Shut up and listen to me! If you overstay your welcome in my city, I'll kill you all!" The man gets angry at you for pointing out his slip-ups.
"Short temper! One more to add to the list. Anything else?" Feeling that you successfully pissed him off, you keep acting smug in order to see how far he'll go, but seeing a strong electrical current coming from the power outlet in your house, you drop the phone as the device suddenly bursts into flames from the high voltage, darkening the surrounding area with ashes as the explosion renders the phone useless.
"Electric powers and explosions! Thanks for telling me!" You wipe your face clean and proceed to put out the fire.

Well that was... something. A nice distraction from taking care of Jolyne, but this phone guy really was all talk.
Eh, you'll worry about the arrows later, if you keep focusing your life around golden arrowheads that give people Stands all day your mind will be all over the place 24/7.
"Flying... I'm flying..." You hear Jolyne's voice coming from the bedroom, confused as to what exactly she's saying.
"Jolyne? Did that wake you up?" You walk over to her bed, only to find her sleepwalking her way out of the room, waving her arms around like a bird.
"I need to watch out for the snake, but these butterfly wings are too short..." You see the blue fists she unconsciously used to punch you before fading in and out of her torso, flapping up and down along with her real arms to emulate a flying butterfly.
Does her stand only activate when she's sleeping? Given how out of control Stands only act on their user's subconsciousness, it could be that Jolyne's Stand works differently than the rest, adding that with this being the first time you ever saw her sleepwalking, there's no doubt that there's an inner conflict between the girl's body and soul being reflected in her dreams...

Is there anything you can currently do to help her out with her stand though?

"Why is the snake going after the fishes now? I didn't even fly that far away from him..." Her ghost hands disappear as only her regular hands flail around, silently watching the snake from her dreams search for a new prey.
"Dummy snake, you can't go in the water like that, don't you see how many fish are swimming there? They're all bigger than you, go find your food somewhere else." Jolyne chuckles at seeing the snake go out of her natural habitat.
"No! Get away from the whale! You can't even eat her!" The butterfly warns her of the snake's impending doom, but Jolyne's flinching implied the snake didn't listen to her.
"I tried to warn you, dummy snake. You never stood a chance on the water!" The girl frowned, sad to see the snake's life going to waste.

A snake, fishes and whales... Yeah, this is complete nonsense, her Stand's not even moving anymore... maybe her dream is not really related to her ability.
"What's that whale doing? I remember dad telling me about a whale that spew water from it's forehead, but I forgot what that's called..." Jolyne fails to remember Jotaro's teachings about Cetacean anatomy. You can't really blame her for your husband not being able to entertain and teach at the same time. If his lectures are what made her fall asleep, this dream must be her own brain trying to put that memory to good use.
"That's not water, that's the snake! It's bigger than the whale now and it's flying around the sun!" Her head jolts upwards as her stand appears again, this time appearing to come out of her body as the small butterfly panics at the flying reptile above her.
"He's diving back on the water, he's eating all the fish! How did that happen?" She climbs on the bed with her miniature stand, likely thinking it's a safe space from the monster.
"Did he see me? He'll get back on land once he's done eating the fish... A snake that big wouldn't bother chasing after a butterfly, right? Right?" She shivers in a fetal position, hiding under her pillows with the blue humanoid Stand.
She doesn't realize it, but she's controlling her real stand by acting upon what's happening on her dreams.

>Keep watching.

"Psst, Jolyne! Snap out of it, you're dreaming!" You whisper in an attempt to be less intrusive than the monster in her dreams.
"Hm? Mama? Where are you?" Jolyne recognizes your voice, but doesn't fully exit her dream state just yet.
"You're dreaming about being a butterfly Jolyne, this is not real!" You calmly explain the situation, glad to see it didn't scare her even further.
"Oh, so this is all a dream? Aww... I thought I really was a butterfly!" Jolyne questions the logic of her own childish mind, whining about not being her favorite animal. "What do I do now?"

"Can you wake up? You said a snake was after you. Better open your eyes before anything bad happens."
"Yeah! I dont like snakes, they're always slithering on the ground, biting people and-- Aah!" Jolyne's badmouthing drew the attention of the creature she didn't want to attract, though contrary to a child's usual response to fear as asking for help or crying, Jolyne leaned back on her bed and stayed silent, abruptly ending her dream.

"Jolyne? Are you still listening?" You inch closer to make sure she's not hearing you anymore, but her stand is the one that comes forth in her place.

"ORAORAORAORA!" The figure finally steps out of her body and mimics Star Platinum''s battle cry, punching in your direction with similar supersonic speed.
"Knock it off!" Karma Chameleon holds her fists, but has trouble mantaining the hold when she's grappling a small stand with such towering strength. You'd be feeling proud of her if it wasnt for the fight placing you under pressure.
Get a grip Hitomi! Jolyne's Stand is in your arms right now! Save the emotions for later and wake her up!

"I hope this doesn't hurt her..." You charge your Hamon and pass a small fraction of your breathing energy to Karma, sending a weak overdrive to Jolyne's Stand, you pray to all gods that the jolt of Hamon doesn't hurt her body, but keeps her from moving.
"Ack!" The blue stand's limbs go stiff, it's movements being slower and heavier than when you were holding it at full force, so much so than when you ease your grip and let her go, she punches the place you were previously at.
"No, No! Hold still and on't move until I get back!" You control her by letting the Hamon roam free in her stand, leaving her immobile while you hurry over to the kitchen.

"I'm back! I need to give you a treat later for obeying me even when I'm asleep Jolyne. You're too nice for your own good." You move back to where her stand was and splash some water on Jolyne's face.
"Ah! I'm drowning!" Jolyne wakes up and obliviously retracts her stand back to her body, slowly dawning on her her dream was over for a while now. "Hello Mama! I'm happy yo woke me up, I was tired of dreaming the same thing over and over again..."
"Wait Jolyne, can you do that again?" You leave the talk about her recurring snake dream for later, curious to see if that interaction made her able to properly control her stand.
"Do what?"
"You made your Stand disappear just now! It was trying to attack me before you woke up!"
"Again? I had no idea... How do I move mine like you and Papa do all the time?" She places her hand on her chin, thinking of some way to solve the problem.
"You just have to call it out when you want it to, like this!"
"BOO!" Karma Chameleon thinks of a plan before you're able to, instead of appearing in her usual welcoming fashion, she stretches her arms out as if she was about to push Jolyne out of her bed, forcing the unnamed stand into a blocking position outside of her body.

"I wouldn't really go to that route, but I can't argue with the results...!" You give her a high five and let her rest. "You made it Jolyne, your Stand is out!"
"Waah! It really is out! What do I do with it?" She takes a look at the blue humanoid facing her, moving her hand and seeing her soul extension copy her gesture as like the reflection in a mirror .
"Aw, this is so cute! I'll get to teach you about Stands with Papa! Just wait until he gets home! You're going to know all about what we do!" You put her in your arms and announce the good news.
"Will I get in trouble all the time if I learn how to use my Stand?" Jolyne asks, already knowing what she's up for.
"Well, aren't you in the right mood..." You place her down in her bed after the sassy comment, but still feeling eager to know what Jolyne is really capable of.

This looks pretty fun, never checked /qst/ before. I know this is a dumb question, but how exactly is success determined? The 4th-5th rolls are for the villain and he wins if his is higher than the hero's?

This is how it works: whenever Duster asks us to roll then 3 brave anons step forward and each rolls a 1d100. The highest of these 3 rolls is picked
For this roll to be successful it has to be higher than the number that Duster has decided on beforehand.
90-100 is a critical success, 1-10 is a critical failure. Critical failures override higher rolls except for critical successes
