>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty (thirty one) year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls were once used to determine success or failure. But, due to the rather unpredictable nature of the dice essentially making it irrelevant whether or not you made smart decisions, were fighting outside your weight class, etc, we're going to do away with those, at least for the time being.

This quest sometimes uses music, and this website is not good with embed videos from youtube. So, it may be that you want to open youtube links in a new tab so they start at the right part.

I hope everyone has fun.

The screams of pain from Konattsu draw attention from others beyond yourself. As Kori descends toward the ground with you in her arms, you're able to once again spot the others, who have created a circle around Cell, seemingly preparing to attack him all at once. The screams of your niece, however, draw their attention away, especially Chi-Chi, who calls out her daughter's name and takes to the air.

"You should really pay attention, girl," Cell advises as he lazily lifts a hand and shoots a red beam of light from his finger toward the woman's back.

"Look out!" Yamcha loudly warns.

Chi-Chi glances over her shoulder in time to see the beam coming, but unfortunately not quickly enough to dodge. She cries out in pain as the energy pierces her leg, but does not stop moving toward the screams of her daughter.

"Bastard!" Yamcha howls, that strange black aura briefly surrounding his body again as he leaps forward and strikes at Cell.

The bug man brings up his arms in time to block, but Yamcha keeps pushing as the punch connects with Cell's arms. Your friend manages to slide Cell back in that way before leaping back, cupping his hands, and firing off a Kamehameha Wave that Cell doesn't even bother dodging.

Meanwhile, your daughter/niece sets you down, looking upon you with concern.

"Da-Uncle To-are you alright?" she finally asks.

"Why are you so worried about me?" you ask Kori as you struggle to sit up a bit, wanting a better view of what's going on. "Konattsu took that thing full blast!"

Kori frowns in confusion, not seeming to really get what your point is. Considering how close those two are, her apparent disregard for Konattsu's apparent fate is extremely surprising.

"So?" she asks simply, as if she doesn't have the slightest idea what the big deal is. "She's fine. See?"

Without looking, Kori points to the sky, and you gaze upward, watching as the black smoke created by the detonation of Cell's attack begins to disappear to the wind, revealing two figures floating in the air. One is a very relieved Chi-Chi, and the other is a banged up, heavy-breathing, but very much alive Konattsu.

She really withstood that attack?

Kori seems amused by your surprise. "You haven't seen anything yet."

Further discussion is cut off as Yamcha comes flying your way, knocked back by a strike from Cell and coming right for you in his current dazed trip. Kori quickly scoops you up and leaps out of the way, allowing Yamcha to pass and hit the ground nearby before setting you back down.

You hope your friend will be okay, but right now, you're more focused on Kori and Konattsu. You think that's due to the Goku part of your brain understanding just how powerful Kori is. At her full strength, she would leave both Tofoo and Goku in the dust, and you're certain that's just the tip of the iceberg. And from that complete lack of concern she showed to Konattsu taking that attack, you can't help but wonder if Krillin and Chi-Chi's daughter is just as strong.

A moment later, Konattsu and Chi-Chi land a few feet away, coming over to you and Kori. Chi-Chi seems fine, despite the hole in her leg, and Konattsu seems to be in surprisingly good shape despite the attack she just took. That ball of energy probably would have killed you, but then again, your body was coming apart, and Cell likely didn't put his full strength into it, so you can kind of see Konattsu withstanding it so well if she's in the same league as Kori.

"Are you alright, uncles?" Konattsu asks.

"At this point, none of us can really complain so long as we're still breathing," Yamcha remarks, clutching his chest as he somewhat shakily moves toward the four of you. "This is bad. Cell was scary before, but now he's a complete nightmare."

"Nobody's invincible," you declare. "Cell will die."

"Man, I hope you're right," Yamcha tells you, looking fearfully toward the others, who strike against Cell with all of their might and drive the monster back. "Because we're not invincible either."

With that, he takes off and moves to rejoin the others. After a moment of double-checking that her daughter is okay, Chi-Chi once again becomes surrounded by the powerful crimson aura of the Kaio-Ken, and follows along to join in the attack. With them gone, you consider what your next move should be, and decide that ultimately, remaining fused like this is pointless. You can't do anything in your current state, and once the fusion wears off, you'll have to wait a full hour to do it again.

Closing your eyes and focusing inward, you work to separate the energies of Tofoo and Goku within yourself. Your consciousness perishes as one returns to two, and the two halves that made up Toku return to their original forms.

As Tofoo, your body still feels badly damaged, and Goku doesn't look any better. That, and the enormous power coming from Cell makes you want nothing more than to just go to sleep until this whole thing is over, but you know you can't do that. You need to find a way to restore your energy and return to the battle, and only one method really comes to mind. Though it pains you to do so, you lift your right arm above your head, calling out to life on the planet to give you some of their energy.

Goku looks to you, something in his expression telling you that he doesn't have much faith in what you're attempting. In a few moments, you see why. The amount of energy that comes your way isn't nearly as much as you were able to gather last time, probably less than half of that amount. It seems the plants and animals of the world just don't have much left to give. A look to your friends tells you that they probably need their energy more than you do, so you ultimately just go with what you've got, feeling a bit of your strength returning.

"I'm getting bored," you hear Cell remark as the others continue to push him back. "Not one of you has the power to face me alone, your fusions are unreliable, and even together, you still pale in comparison to my true power!"

For just a moment, Cell's power vanishes altogether. Yet, in the same moment, everybody attacking him is violently blown back as if they were but twigs in a hurricane. Cell looks himself over for a second, then looks back to his foes as his massive power becomes detectable once again.

"This is so disappointing..." he laments. "I'd hoped that one of you would be able to give me a true challenge. But, I suppose I expected too much."

"Don't celebrate yet, Cell!" Goku calls, rising back to his feet. "We're not giving up, and we will find the power to destroy you!"

Cell looks to your friend, his disappointed expression turning to one of amusement, then thoughtfulness.

"Hmm...well, many of you excel at finding hidden reserves of strength when fighting for your lives," he concedes. "I suppose if I gave you long enough, one of you might actually become worth fighting."

He places his hands on his hips, frown returning. "But, honestly, I find it boring to have you insects buzz around me as you try hopelessly to accomplish anything. So, I'll just have to provide some other opponents for you."

You feel the monster's power surge briefly as he locks his elbows at his side, hunches over, and gets a strained look on his face. Frankly, it looks as if he's trying to force out some sort of massive turd, but you're pretty sure that isn't the case.

Another energy suddenly appears, seeming to come from within Cell, then moving just beyond the energy signature of the green-skinned menace. Something drops down behind the monster, and another energy signature appears, followed by the same event occurring. This continues, one after another, until Cell finally regains his normal posture, and the new enemies rise to their feet.

They look like tiny Cells, almost perfectly resembling him, apart from the fact that they're very short, like midget versions of the terror you and your friends have been fighting. Well, that and the face that their skin is mostly a shade of blue rather than green. They cackle among themselves, and make a series of other sounds that you can't make sense of, but figure must be some form of communication.

"My children," Cell addresses the little imps with a smile. "These people here are your enemies. I want you to bring them pain. Make them suffer as much as you like, then kill them."

The tiny monsters grin, looking at your group of warriors. As they seem to select their targets, you take a quick head count, finding that there's one of them for every one of you, including the wounded and weaker fighters.

"Kuma-Ken!" you yell out as the tiny terrors cackle and take to the sky.

You drop into your typical defensive stance, doing your best to get a feel for the power of these newcomers. Already you can tell that they're quite strong, but just how much strength they possess you cannot say. It seems you'll have to find out by engaging these creatures in combat and properly feeling out their abilities.

It takes a moment for you to get the chance. Four of the little beasts come flying in your direction, but Kori quickly moves in, striking one in the face with an energy blast and knocking it back. Konattsu intercepts another, blocking its attack, grabbing hold of its wrist, and slamming it into the ground. That leaves two for you to handle.

Or not, as Goku is soon by your side, letting out a yell as he returns to his Super Saiyan form and prepares to battle. As the creatures close in, you and your friend stand ready to fight.

You quickly block a punch from your attacker, surprised by the amount of power you feel as its fist connects with your arm. It's much higher than any of the beasts Cell spawned earlier in the tournament, and you aren't certain if it's fighting all-out from the get-go. You throw a punch at it in response, but it throws its body back, moving out of the way of your attack before bringing its hands to its head, placing its thumbs on its cheeks, and sticking out its tongue.

"Na Na!" it taunts, flying up into the sky.

As you debate whether or not to chase after it, you hear Goku grunt in pain. Glancing over, you see that the other little monster has landed a solid hit on your friend's face. But, Goku doesn't back down, and gives the creature a Bear Shout in retaliation. A spike of energy draws your focus back to your own foe, and you look up to see a Dodon Ray streaking down toward you.

It seems these things inherited their father's knowledge of techniques.

Moving fast, you leap off the ground, which explodes beneath you as the Dodon Ray makes contact. Climbing higher into the air, you gather up energy and hurl a pair of blasts at the little monster, which knocks them aside before cupping its hands and firing off a Kamehameha Wave in your direction. Once again, you dodge, this time answering with a Bear Shout. Your attack strikes the creature, pushing it to the ground below.

Looking down, you see the creature pick itself up out of the dirt, not seeming particularly injured even after that attack. It doesn't look thrilled with what just happened, but it doesn't look like you did much more than temporarily inconvenience the thing.

Around you, the others continue their own battles, with varying degrees of success.

Piccolo seems to be fighting on par with his opponent, managing to gain a slight upper hand due to the size advantage. At this point, it's too early to guess the outcome, but Piccolo is not in any immediate peril.

Chi-Chi, her power pulsing around her body, has her enemy on the ropes, and seems to have a clear advantage in terms of strength. The only thing is that she isn't moving quite as quickly as she should be with that level of power. That hole Cell put in her leg is probably slowing her down, prolonging a battle that she should have been able to finish quickly.

Yamcha and Lazuli stand back to back as they face off against two of the imps, which charge the couple from both sides. As one closes in on Lazuli, she ducks down into a crouch, and the monster flies face-first into an elbow-strike from the scar-faced warrior. Turning and shifting to place herself at Yamcha's side, Lazuli launches herself at the other creature, landing a devastating kick to its jaw that completely stops its charge and throws it higher into the air. The blonde-haired fighter stands with Yamcha, firing off an energy wave at the creature while he fires off a Dodon Ray.

Tenshinhan, with the aid of the Four Witches technique, battles two of the creatures at once, while Chaozu uses his psychic abilities to slow the monsters down, allowing the three-eyed baldy to overpower the two tiny terrors.

Kori is pummeling her foe, striking hard and fast and forcing the creature onto the defensive as it struggles to fend off her attacks. Konattsu, meanwhile, fights defensively, expertly blocking and parrying her foe's attacks and striking when an opening presents itself. It seems somebody has taken to the Bear School style of combat.

>Continued
>>
>>2683395

Roshi, despite demonstrating some incredible form and technique, is clearly struggling with his enemy. The same goes for Goku, whose exhaustion is causing him a severe disadvantage.

Nam, Devilman, and Mr. Satan face off against three. This mostly seems to translate to Nam desperately attempting to keep the creature's attention without being killed, as Devilman waits for an opening to use his Devilmite Beam. Mr. Satan occasionally moves in, makes some feeble hits, then obnoxiously boasts, drawing attention away from Nam. The loud-mouthed lout then flees, somehow managing to avoid being blasted to atoms as the creatures give chase. Nam will then strike at vulnerable spots while they're distracted, bringing attention back to him. For some reason, the creatures seem to keep looking behind themselves every thirty seconds or so.

Cell watches all of this with mild amusement, not seeming the least concerned by the fight that most of the warriors are putting up. Maybe they're performing at the level he was hoping to see, or maybe his 'children' haven't displayed their full power yet.

The creature on the ground below you brings his fingers to his forehead, and you brace yourself for a Makankosappo to be shot your way. Instead, the creature vanishes, and you receive a powerful kick to the small of your back, sending you crashing face-first into the ground below. Pushing yourself back up, you spit out dirt and get back on your feet. That attack hurt. You'll shake it off, but you can't help but feel a bit worried now. That kick was almost as strong as one from Cell prior to his little explosion.

No more screwing around. As the little monster readies itself to keep fighting, you remain virtually stationary, silently inviting it to move in and attack you, an invitation which it graciously accepts. As it comes closing in, however, you raise your hands in front of your face.

"SOLAR FLARE!"

A blinding light disorients the creature, and a moment later, it finds itself sliced in half by your Energy Blade. Unlike its dear dad, however, it seems unable to regenerate, and falls to broken, lifeless pieces on the ground below.

"Well, I think I've seen enough," Cell remarks.

Dozens of beams of light shoot from his fingers, and one by one, his children fall dead to the ground.

"I still doubt you can provide me with the challenge I deserve, but obviously my brats don't make very good playmates," Cell tells everyone. "So, what do you say I show off my full power and see if you can last more than ten seconds?"

What’s annoying is the fact that Cell even got to his final form, let alone getting to super perfect form when all the previous fights with him basically ended up one sided in our favor. I mean during the Freeza fight he said we had to get constant high rolls if we wanted to end the fight before he got to his final form. Yet it doesn’t seem to apply to Cell when it happened.

That's exactly the thing with Cell. He's not only stronger, he's smarter and has far more techniques too. He can simply overpower you when he stronger than you, and if he thinks he's going to lose he can punch above his weight class as well.

Mofo could've ended DBZ with Solar Flare and Destructo Disk spam if he wanted to. Even now, Cell isn't being used to his minmax potential. He's absolute BS in the most frustrating ways possible AND it's canonical too.

Also a horrifying thought, shouldn't Cell technically have infinite energy as well if he absorbed both Androids? Be glad Som didn't give that as well.
>>
>>2685758
It gets worse. Since Gero's bots were watching Goku vs Vegeta, technically Cell, having 'all of their techniques' should have access to Kaioken. After all, while it was taught by a Kai, it's not like you need to be a Kai to use it.

I think is has been significantly better than Kaguya's quest, so there's that. I really liked the idea of Tofoo becoming the Guardian and having limited access to god ki, and I think this saga has overall been the one I've enjoyed the most.

That said, I think this saga has also exacerbated the problems this quest has had, so even though I think this is the best it's ever been overall, the bad parts are while not more prevalent than ever before, they're more apparent than they have been in a while.

Here are the issues I personally have with the quest:

>It feels like we have very little actual control over the outcome of anything. Any time you give us options, we're frequently given about five or six choices. Some of these feel like fragments of larger answers. For example, if Goku gets blasted and he lands next to us, two choices might be "Goku!" and [help him to his feet] "You're not gonna let him get away with that, are you?" There's really no reason for both to exist, and this is made even less necessary when we're allowed to choose three or more options per vote. This is more obvious out of combat than in it, but it's also prevalent there, too.

>Combat feels like a constant tug of war, and not in an interesting way. No matter who we're fighting, but especially against someone like Cell, it feels like we need to get several good rolls in a row in order to do well, while a single bad roll is usually enough to turn the battle against us entirely. This isn't true in all cases, but it's especially felt this way during this saga. Cell being smart and crafty is to be expected, but this sort of thing just isn't fun to play against.

>There are too many characters. This is an issue Dragon Ball had at this point too, but seriously, do we really need people like the Ox King here? It was super cool when we utilized everyone in the Saiyan Saga and managed to beat Nappa and Vegeta that way, but I really don't think we need all these people here now. It slows down posting, and they're not actually contributing anything.

>There's too much stuff being thrown in, in general. Dragon Ball has a ton of side content that can be thrown in, and that can be cool. But when you throw in absolutely everything, and you combine that with how short these threads tend to be at any one time, it can seriously slow things down. That might not be an issue for some people, but that was one of the big reasons why I stopped following Tuffle Quest, as well. There's such a thing as too many bad guys and too many world-ending threats to beat up.

Those are the problems I personally have with the quest. There are good parts, for sure, but since we're on the subject of criticism, this is what I've got.
>>
>>2686337

Too bad DBZ is based on stupid. What you want to be super pragmatic? Whoops all the major threats other than say Freiza are dead before they get going.

Making a DB quest centered in main canon is always going to be a bad idea. Player's standard rationality and pragmatism will always clash with DBZ's irrationality and illogical characters.
>>
>>2687527
That's a good point, actually. The issue I've seen every single canon-following DBZ quest run into, without fail, is that the main character is always significantly smarter than everyone else; partly because the players know the source material and how things are "supposed" to go, and partly because they're also a lot more creative and crafty than Toriyama's characters ever were.
>>
>>2687527
I mean shit like trying Kami ken + super saiya or trying to tank acid bullshit as that was I don't expect Pragmatism just not outright idiocy

Good point. That's a lot of why I've always had trouble with the Buu Saga. It required monumental stupidity from nearly everyone involved to even happen.

"Kori, Konattsu, it's time for you two to get in there," you tell the children of Goku and Krillin, hoping that they'll be able to deal with this problem before Cell is able to unleash whatever true power he was referring to.

Out of everyone still fighting, the two of them seem to be in the best condition. Somehow, they withstood Cell's explosion better than the rest of you, and were seemingly able to defeat their small opponents without too much trouble. The hints of their power that you've witnessed tell you that they could almost certainly have defeated Cell before his explosion, but you aren't sure if they can handle him as he is now.

You'll just have to pray for the best.

Cell looks genuinely surprised as the two children step forward to confront him. He looks toward you and the other adults to confirm that this isn't just a joke, and then begins to laugh.

"Really? After all of this, you send two children to fight me? Have I knocked a few screws loose? Is fear making you insane?"

Goku comes to stand beside you, holding his left arm and wincing a bit as he watches the confrontation.

"I was hoping it wouldn't come to this," your friend tells you. "But I guess we don't have much of a choice."

That fear in his voice makes you briefly reconsider this course of action, but ultimately, as he said, you have no choice. Neither of you are in much condition to battle Cell, and you can't attempt fusion again for almost an hour. The others aren't in much better shape, and even at their best, you don't think any of them would have better luck taking Cell one-on-one than you and Goku had fused together. Whatever the consequences, this may be the only way to stop Cell.

Cell stops laughing, though his voice still holds incredible amusement once he speaks again. "Alright girls, let's see what you have to offer."

Konattsu looks over to Kori, who gives her a nod. The dark-haired girl takes to the air, hanging a good distance above the battlefield and watching expectantly. Cell watches her ascend, then looks back at Kori, who remains right where she stood before.

The redhead glances over her shoulder, questioning eyes finding her father, who gives her a slow nod.

Kori looks back toward Cell, and the wind around her picks up, kicking dust into the air and spiraling around her like a tornado as she begins to let out the mightiest yell someone her age could hope for. The ground rumbles, fissures forming near her feet and spreading snakelike cracks through the Earth in every direction. Her golden aura intensifies, growing brighter for a moment, then returning to normal, then brightening again.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!" she howls with the wind, her power surging to alarming levels as the land and air around her continue to respond to her energy.

Beams of golden light shoot from her aura, striking the ground and creating craters in various locations. As more and more continue to fly from the girl, you and the others leap into the sky to avoid being hit, finding still that you have to dodge as golden beams begin firing skyward. The swirling vortex of dust surrounding the young half-saiyan expands, even growing to swallow up Cell, who stands right within it, not even blinking as the girl continues her power-up.

"Goku!" Piccolo shouts, barely audible over the howling wind and explosions of energy. "What's going on? What is she doing?!"

"She's letting out her full power," Goku answers, his trembling voice only a whisper in the wind.

Everyone looks shocked, and even scared by Kori's current display, save Konattsu, who is smiling as she looks down at her friend, and Cell, who remains mostly stoic as he watches the spectacle.

Kori's aura grows brighter, and brighter, then bursts like a supernova, its rays more blinding than a Solar Flare. You and the others desperately shield your eyes as you feel her final explosion of power, and the wind then begins to die down. The light fades away, and you are able to safely look down upon Kori, who, while still in her Super Saiyan form, feels like an entirely different person.

Now that you feel it, you can understand Goku's worry. The power radiating from his daughter puts that of himself and you to complete shame. She could have certainly defeated Cell in his previous state with this level of power, but you understand why Goku wasn't eager to have her do so.

Kori's long had difficulty controlling her rage, and with power like this for her to unleash, lack of control could make her more dangerous than even Cell.

"I don't believe it...." Trunks states from his nearby airspace. "The Kori in my timeline trained for years and never came near this level."

"She had her dad to guide her this time," you tell your son. "And a three year head-start."

And what a difference it's made. According to Trunks, the Kori in his timeline was unable to defeat the likes of Android 16. This kind of power would have reduced those robots to rubble in the blink of an eye. And, judging by how Konattsu doesn't even look surprised by the power she's seeing from Kori, you suspect that either she's just really happy for her friend, or she has a level of power in the same neighborhood. As she descends to land beside Kori, you deduce that it's probably the latter.

"Should have never doubted my nieces," you reflect.

"Well, isn't this a nice surprise?" Cell asks, sounding strangely amused despite what he's up against. "The runt's packing more power than her dear dad ever did. Still, it's not enough."

"That's why she's not fighting alone," Konattsu tells Cell, her own power flaring up considerably.

It's not at Kori's level, but something about what you're sensing tells you that she's still got a lot more hidden inside. You only wonder why she hasn't yet decided to bring it out.

Cell smirks. "This might actually be fun."

Without saying anything, Kori lets out a yell and leaps at Cell, throwing a titanic punch at the monster's head. Cell brings up his hand and catches it, but the force is so great that the ground beneath him craters. She follows with a kick at his face which he manages to block with his free arm, then brings her left knee into his nose. While Cell's head snaps back from the blow, the girl uses her freehand to blast the ground under his feet, causing the bug-man to lose balance, and allowing her to free restrained fist from his grasp. As Cell falls to the ground, Kori climbs a few feet, cupping her hands and gathering energy.

"KAMEHAMEHA!!!!!!!!!!" she roars, thrusting her hands down toward Cell and unleashing a massive beam of light that pushes him into the dirt and buries his body in the ground.

She doesn't let up. Holding out her hands, she creates two orbs of light which she hurls down at Cell, creating more and more each second to bombard the prone fighter relentlessly. The ground trembles, massive dust-clouds kick up and obscure your view of the crater, and still the young Super Saiyan keeps going.

Konattsu stands at the crater's edge, not looking down toward Cell, but more seeming to watch Kori. You aren't sure why until the dark-haired child launches herself to the space behind Kori, blocking a kick aimed at the back of the non-natural-blonde's head.

She extends her left arm and fires a blast into Cell's crotch, both pushing him away, and presumably causing noticeable pain. Kori maneuver's behind him, kicking him high into the air with a strike to the back, and giving Konattsu a clear shot to fire off a pair of Kienzans.

Cell sees these coming and quickly brings his fingers to his forehead, avoiding the attacks with Instant Transmission, and appearing right in front of Konattsu. With a sadistic grin, he holds a palm out right in front of the child's face. But Konattsu boldly reaches out and presses her own palm against it, locking fingers with the beast and releasing energy he fires off his attack right into the new attack forming in her hand. The resulting explosion is powerful as the two semi-formed blasts meet and cause one-another to detonate. Judging by the look on Cell's face, it was quite painful, yet Konattsu does not let go. You aren't sure how she's holding on so well, frankly. Her energy level from what you can tell is much smaller than Cell's at the moment.

She releases Cell's hand just as Kori swoops in and delivers a kick to the monster's head that would have broken the neck of any other opponent. You know that the monster's healing abilities will keep that blow from being fatal, but you also know that it had to hurt like Hell.

Kori gives chase, with Konattsu following closely behind. In the distance, you can see more dust and debris kicked up as Cell strikes the ground. Then, you see a spiraling beam of light shoot toward the girls. Kori falls back and allows Konattsu to move in front of her. The full-human deflects the attack, and Kori circles around to place herself in the front again, firing off a wave of energy at Cell, who uses his Instant Transmission once again to avoid it and charge at the Super Saiyan from below.

Konattsu is right there to intercept, placing herself right in Cell's path and crossing her arms to block the monster's punch. The resulting shockwave reaches you and the others from that distance, and you once again think that she should not have been able to withstand that attack.

"I don't understand," Lazuli speaks up. "How is she able to take these hits?"

You're pretty sure everybody's wondering that. You give it some thought.

>A. She's trained her endurance to superhuman levels. Bear School teachings taken to their fullest.

"I'm not sure how she's doing it," you tell Lazuli. "But, they do seem to have a pretty clear strategy for teamwork. Kori's acting as the sword, and Konattsu's the shield."

"But if one of them has to withstand attacks, shouldn't it be Kori?" Tenshinhan questions. "She's stronger, so she should be able to handle these attacks better than Konattsu."

"Not true," Master Roshi declares.

You and the others look down to see the old Turtle Hermit still on the ground level, sitting and watching as the two kids frantically battle with Cell.

"I'm surprised you would have forgotten," he remarks. "Especially you, Yamcha, considering how much experience you have with it."

Yamcha looks confused, as do most of the others. But, you do see a smile on Goku's face, and a proud smirk on Chi-Chi's. Apparently they realize what's going on.

"She's trained her endurance past her limits and pushed them to super-human heights!" Roshi explains from the ground. "This is a perfect example of the Bear School of martial arts!"

Of course! How could you not have seen it? You founded the Bear School, after all. Maybe it's because your training has come to focus less on defense than it did when you were younger. Whatever the reason for your late uptake, you can see it plain as day now. It doesn't matter if Konattsu's power isn't as high as Cell's. She's trained herself to withstand anything!

"Did you know about this?" Lazuli asks Chi-Chi, noticing the smirk on the dark-haired woman's face.

Chi-Chi nods. "Of course. Who do you think helped her train? We spent a year in the time chamber together."

"Wait...so then...can you do that too?" Yamcha questions.

Chi-Chi shakes her head. "No. We both trained our endurance, but in different ways. I trained myself to handle the Kaio-Ken's effects on my body so I could push it to the highest levels possible."

"..and Konattsu was your sparring partner while you kept getting more and more powerful with the Kaio-Ken," Tenshinhan finishes, understanding.

"Exactly," Chi-Chi answers, smiling proudly toward her daughter. "She and I fought every day, and in a lot of those fights my power was much higher than hers. But she didn't let that stop her."

"Huh." Yamcha says, looking back toward the battle. "I guess that explains it."

Goku still smiles, but doesn't comment. It's as if he knows something nobody else does, but doesn't want to share it.

"I'm amazed you and Konattsu were able to accomplish all of that," you tell the woman.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Chi-Chi asks teasingly.

Giving a light chuckle, you look back out to the battlefield and watch the two young warriors fight.

The three combatants fight with all of the ferocity of true warriors locked in a battle to the death, moving through the air like a bullet as they furiously exchange attacks. Cell is currently on the backpedal under the combined assault of Kori and Konattsu. While the dark-haired girl has been fulfilling her role as the shield, the combined assault of her and Kori largely eliminates the necessity for such a thing at the moment, as Cell has difficulty effectively fighting back.

With a cry of frustration, Cell unleashes a powerful pulse of energy, pushing the two girls back. He rushes in to attack, and Konattsu places herself between he and Kori. She manages to block his first punch, but an elbow-strike manages to push through her defenses and strike her in the face, knocking her back. Cell lifts a hand over his head, building up a ball of energy, but before he can throw it, a smaller blast strikes it, causing it to detonate right above his palm, obscuring him in smoke as he's caught in his own blast. Kori lets out a yell and dives into the smoke, the two soon emerging with Kori's fist in Cell's face as she pushes him toward the ground.

Konattsu recovers from the blow and is right behind them, shouting for Kori to move as she hurls down a Kienzan. The Super Saiyan obliges, and the energy disk moves right for Cell, who spins out of the way and chases after Kori. Konattsu redirects the disk to chase after Cell, who looks over his shoulder and fires a blast back at it, causing it to explode. In that moment of distraction, Kori stops, turns, and plants her foot in Cell's cheek. Konattsu then strikes him from the side with a wave of energy, pushing him away as Kori cups her hands and begins to gather up energy.

Konattsu goes after Cell, presumably hoping to buy Kori time. In the meantime, Cell frees himself from the energy attack and fires a wave of his own at the approaching Konattsu. The girl crosses her arms in front of her body and brings her knees up to her chest as the wave engulfs her. When the attack dissipates, she lowers her legs and uncrosses her arms just in time for Cell to land a punch in her gut. Another strike comes up and hits her in the jaw, sending her soaring higher, but as she ascends, she manages to hurl another Kienzan down at the monster, who quickly moves his head out of the way to avoid decapitation, and detonates the disk with an energy beam, this time keeping his full focus on Konattsu, who begins gathering energy between her palms.

"Fine, if that's how you want to play this...." you hear Cell tell her, cupping his hands and gathering energy.

"HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!" the two shout at once, firing off Kamehameha Waves that race to meet one-another, colliding with a brilliant flash.

Konattsu's wave begins to give ground quickly, but her power surges, and the advance of Cell's attack quickly slows to a crawl. She lets out a yell, accompanied by another burst of energy, which begins to push the blast back toward a surprised Cell.

"She had this kind of power hidden?" Yamcha asks in shock.

It's impressive, but Cell stops Konattsu's advance. And, you feel his power surge as he begins to push back, his attack slowly approaching Konattsu.

"You fool!" he snarls at the girl. "You really thought you were a match for ultimate perfection? You're going to die! All of you are going to die!"

His power surges yet again, and his beam draws closer and closer to Konattsu. The girl yells at the top of her lungs, putting every bit of power she has left in her into slowing Cell's attack. That's when you see a bright glow coming from nearby.

Kori hangs in the air, a ball of energy between her palms.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!" she roars, thrusting her hands toward Cell.

Cell's head snaps toward Kori, and more importantly, her colossal wave of energy, his eyes going wide as he cries out in terror. With all of his focus in attacking Konattsu, he is unable to do anything to fend off Kori's blast which quickly engulfs him. You hear him cry out in pain, his power faltering and causing his own Kamehameha Wave to vanish. This in turn allows Konattsu's wave to rush down and join Kori's, the two girls yelling in harmony as their attacks attempt to reduce Cell to atoms.

In the brilliant light of the Kamehameha Waves, you can make out a singular form, that of Cell. And, as you watch, that form begins to chip away. Bit by bit pieces of his body disconnect and disintegrate, his howls of despair and terror reaching you even over here.

"T-this can't be!" he insists even as the end comes. "I'M PERFE-"

And like that, he vanishes altogether, not a trace left of him or his energy as the last of his form is consumed by the Kamehameha Waves.

After another moment, the beams of light cease, and two exhausted girls fall from the sky.

"Kori!" Goku shouts, using Instant Transmission to reach his daughter.

"Konattsu!" Chi-Chi yells, racing to catch her child.

The others, meanwhile, stare at the space where Cell vanished, stunned by what they've just witnessed. You suspect that they're also silently asking if Cell managed to survive that.

Not wanting a repeat of what happened before, you call up King Kai, asking him if he's able to sense anything in regards to the monster that you and the others just did battle with.

"I can't feel a thing," King Kai replies after a moment. "But then again, I couldn't sense anything right away after his explosion, either. So keep an eye out. I'll let you know if I feel anything."

That'll have to do for now. There's other things to worry about in the meantime. Namely, everyone tired, hurt, or both, and Cell managed to claim lives before his own was taken. The next thing to do will be to gather the Dragonballs and revive his many victims. Then, there is the issue of Doctor Gero. He came back from the grave, and was promptly returned to it. As much as you hope he's gone for good this time, you can't help but consider the possibility that he'll manage another miraculous resurrection at some point. Then...well, you'll have to say goodbye to your son.

Looking over at Trunks, you see that he's staring at the spot where Cell vanished in complete disbelief. You can swear there are tears welling in his eyes, and you can only imagine how he's feeling right now. As tough as this whole situation has been on you and the others, you know it's been even harder on him. He watched his world fall to darkness, and nearly watched this one do the same. Hopefully, his future will be much brighter from now on.

Minutes pass, and still, no sign of Cell. This time, you believe, he is truly gone.

Good, if Korin has any Senzu Beans, that means they'll be getting them quickly. For now, though, you're alone up here, with the Dragonballs.

The Eternal Dragon can grant a single wish, and the wish is obvious enough, so there's probably no point in waiting and discussing it with the others. You could just summon Shenron right now and wish everyone back. Krillin, Ox King, everyone killed by Cell and the Androids.

Deciding to wait for the others, you think of something else you can do in the meantime. As the Guardian, you are supposed to be able to see virtually anything from your Lookout. Mr. Popo has not had the time to properly train you in reading the currents of energy that flow across the planet, but if you know where to start looking, perhaps you'll find something. Cell may be dead, but he came from another timeline. It stands to reason that there's probably one out there somewhere in your world, though it could still be in its infancy, or perhaps Gero perished before he could create it.

Then there's Gero himself. You aren't sure whether or not he's still out there, but you can think of one place that might be ideal for the beginning of your search.

Closing your eyes, you visualize the mountains around North City, the location of Doctor Gero's secret laboratory. Spotting it in your mind's eye, you feel for energy in that area. You can faintly detect all sorts of things in the distance, but you're pretty sure it's only wildlife.

"Good," Popo praises from your side. "Filter out that which is not important to your search. The trees, the plants, the animals, their energy flows like any other. Let them fade from your attention, and see what else is there."

You follow his instructions, drowning out the wildlife and plants surrounding the remains of the lab. That's when you feel it, just barely. There's something in the lab. No, not in the lab, beneath it. Your mental image shifts to a dark room, where you can see a tiny, green thing floating in a tube. As you focus on it, you detect the smallest trace of various energies, though they're too faint to properly identify.

You've found Cell.

And that's where we'll call it a night. Cell is dead, all that's left is to make a wish on Shenron, and we can finally move on. I know this saga got to be a bit of a hot mess as it progressed, but thank you all for sticking with it, and I hope you enjoyed it at least a bit.

As always, I love questions and discussion, and you all know my twitter.

Have a good night.

Thanks for running Som. I'm really glad this saga is over with, shit was dragging on way too long. Looking forward to what you have planned next.

Thanks for running SOM, was super neat to finally see Cell die. I'm a little biased because I always hated Cell, but I'll be happy to move on from here, and I'm excited to see how you work Broly in without Vegeta around. But also, where's Vegeta's body?
>>
>>2690817
It has probably long since decomposed.

Thanks for hosting man. The terror is now defeated for real.

Do you have plans on adjusting events in the Buu saga so it requires less pants on head stupidity for Buu to happen?
>>
>>2693997
Trying to figure out how to do that. Heroes should be less retarded this time around, so maybe Babidi will adjust his plans or something.
>>
>>2694726
its ok for buu to not happen / or happen later? Plenty of other things that can be covered in DB.
>>
>>2694726
Part of the problem is that Shin already knows everything about Babidi and Buu, and if the characters aren't dumb, they'll take him seriously and then that's the end for the bad guys.

Maybe have Shin show up late or be headed off by Dabura or something. Maybe the party only learns some of the information they need before Shin gets turned to stone. Maybe Babidi spent a little more time finding strong people to turn into servants before he landed on Earth, or maybe he even teamed up with another villain who isn't fully aware of what Buu is capable of, and just thinks he's going to be another strong fighter once he wakes up.

That still counts as mind controlled.

I mean we still have to deal with the androids. But so long we take care of that i'm fine with anything.

As long as it isn't super dragged on then I would be really into it. Getting to fight the others and see how tofoo stacks up now would be nice. Plus, I am pretty interested in if we can ultimately beat goku full on. We passed him with kami-ken but he'll reach super saiyan 2 soon enough after this and the gap will only get wider as he unlocks more transformations. On that note, we've got kuma-ken, kaio-ken, and kami-ken. If we can learn to combine them and stabilize it then it'd give us an insane power boost. Tofoo has the super master tier ki control and technique to use it efficiently , he just needs to up his endurance to actually keep it going.

I would rather we went back and re learned the Kuma Style. It seems to have worked for Konnatsu. Would be better then trying to mix stuff just to overpower a oponent.
>>
>>2707136
Well yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking too. Kuma style is all about endurance, and that's what we need to access ken technique mixing.
>>
>>2707136
It's worked well for her, yes.

Can we train with Trunks a little before he gets back? Will we be dealing with Gero and the remaining Cell off screen?
>>
I say tying loose ends should be a priority. Gotta make sure nothing that could cause problems is still active.

And I think that neither kuma-ken like power ups nor bear style should be the focus but rather what Tofoo can do as the god of the planet. As seen with his friends, anyone can pick up his bear style and his kuma ken creations, but there's things only a god can do like his godly sight, kickstarting this barely tapped god ki and kai kai between others.

It is time to take to heart Popo's lessons about what truly can do a god and push it to the limits. Besides, we still need to upgrade the dragon balls and see if they can be customized to be more versatile. Maybe a quick trip to the namekian planet to learn about how to use this life-link with the balls and the dragon to enhance them.

Neat thinking, anon.

Perhaps.
