AN: So, this is a thing. I have no real timeline on what might happen or if I’ll run again soon or anything like that and you all know me too well for me to try and say otherwise. All that being said this is going to be a prologue so expect relatively smaller posts and quicker update times while I get things sorted. Not sure if any of you remember how the last prologue went but these choices do matter. Background will determine what I’ll allow the character to presumably do, age matters and where you end up in the world will affect what possible Sekirei you may be able to end up with. So keep an eye out.

I’m going to go back to the d100 system for this when I call for rolls. Only 1 or 100 will be crits, 100 is good, 1 is bad. That being said, you all know I don’t like to fuck you over with dice. Not sure if I’ll have any skills or not at the moment, still working on that. With that, on to the show.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Your name is Hatsu Toyoaki and you spent last night out drinking with your friends. Unfortunately it was way to late and way too much, even though you kept insisting that you needed to make sure you got up in the morning. Your head is throbbing with only four hours of sleep, a blaring alarm clock and one massive hangover still throbbing in your head.

You roll over and smack the alarm clock, silencing it as you roll into a decent position to cradle your throbbing head and wonder how a cat got into your apartment again. This was…

1. Your first time drinking so much since you all just finished cram school. You’re not sure you like this and you’re wondering if drinking always feels like this.

2. Pretty normal actually, you just finished college after all. The headache will go away, you’ll survive and prosper.

3. A fucking stupid idea, you’re old enough to know better and your friends are too but you just got promoted so you got a bit out of control. Aspirin, water and pretending you aren’t in pain are the name of the game.

Googling 'Sekirei' yields a manga and an anime. Are those prerequisites for this?

Karasuba OP

They are not prerequisites, though you would admittedly get more out of the quest from knowing some of the background.

Last night was a terrible idea. You don’t even remember why somebody thought it was a good idea to go for some of the more expensive and “exotic” alcohols instead of just beer and sake. Still, you just got a nice raise and a bigger position at your company. Looking around your apartment, which is “just” upscale enough that it actually has rooms instead of one largish area that has some nice partitions, you ponder what you need to do.

Aspirin first, water, the three S’s and then you’ll be off to work. Standing up, you manage to get to the bathroom without stumbling and find your aspirin. Taking a few pills with water you rub your head as things start to settle. Ok so maybe you’re just ignoring the pain better since you’ve done this a time or two.

Looking up at the mirror you see the face of a man who could just be reaching his early thirties or a well aged fifty, not that you like to advertise to anyone since it’s none of their goddamn business thank you very much. Experienced, tempered and knowing at least some of what you want out of life, you find yourself increasingly wondering where the fuck they’re getting all these young shits.

I mean it’s not like…

1. Doing research like you do at MBI is something you really want to trust to kids right out of college.

2. Security for a major corporation like MBI should be trusted to morons with enough training to think they’re competent but not enough to know they’re still newbies.

3. The accounts of your company are the same things they did worked on in college. This is real life and dealing with real people, not numbers on a spreadsheet. (Non-MBI related.)
>>

Something like how if she reacted to us she'd try to kill us because of how weak she perceives us and how the only way to attract her attention is through strength, which as a human...against Karasuba of all people is kinda....well we're not John so our survival chances are slim

You’re not really sure exactly when MBI decided to go from “modest armed presence” to defend their very high profile labs to “enough troops and hardware to take over an African dictatorship” but you’ve been their for all of it. You’re high enough in position now that you’re not quite on what amounts to the board of directors for MBI but you’ve got a few lines to people who are.

Your official title just changed to Special Advisor to the Director on Security, innocuous enough in a corporate setting to warrant little suspicion. What it amounts to is that your only boss is the VP of security and you regularly report to Director Hiroto or Doctor Sahashi instead of actually following a chain of command.

Stepping into your shower you turn in up just short of scalding and let the steam clear your head. Letting your eyes drop, you see the relatively large scar on your abdomen that you got back when you were a newbie at MBI. Back then you didn’t have much in the way of what you do now and nobody could have expected an attack on the scale you did receive. “Pirates” your ass.

You were the only one of your unit to survive, the only human survivor of the incident at all. By the time they found you with just your service pistol, three rounds and enough bodies that you’d built a secondary barricade out of them surrounding you, you were only a little bit away from bleeding out. Still you’d…

1. Protected the assets long enough that they’d not been harmed. Your backup had been most thankful, she still sends you a card on the anniversary.

2. Killed enough of the bastards that even your “backup” had been mildly impressed. Very mildly. Enough she didn’t kill you at least.

This is a new story, new people and things will be introduced.

Karasuba will NOT be like what she was in HPQ. She will be her canon self. Violent, stab happy, hates most everything.

That being said, options are options and that's what we're voting on.

You’d not only protected the assets long enough that they’d made it out without harm but you’d also killed an impressive number of the enemy. Granted most of it had been luck, enough warning that the enemy were coming for you to make half a barricade and the fact that they had wanted what you were protecting intact so they hadn’t used explosives. At least until they’d gotten to the end and were being attacked from two ends.

Still you remember what happened right before you passed out. You’d been firing your last rounds at the enemy, taking what time you could since they were wearing body armor that could stop your pistol rounds. The corridor outside had flashed white, you could see it even with your eyelids shut.

Then you’d opened your eyes in time to see the remaining four who’d managed to breach the room die in welters of blood, gashes carved into their bodies in less time than it took you to process what was happening. Then the same sword had been at your throat, your pistol cut in half and several of your fingers broken as the remaining parts had been jerked out of your hand.

“Stop!” a voice managed to reach you despite the ringing in your ears from repeated bursts of automatic weapons fire.

“He’s just a guard.” The sword was now pressed tight enough to your throat that you could’ve shaved with it… or cut your own throat.

“He’s on our side. Not to mention the only witness.”

“Tch” The sword removed itself from your throat and you felt a line of blood trickling down your neck. “Next time then.”

A blurry face in front of your own, soft eyes and brown hair.

“Relax… we’ll get you out safe.”

You could barely even nod at the time and you don’t remember anything after that. You woke up several days later in an MBI sponsored hospital hooked up to enough tubes to make you worried you’d lost something important. You hadn’t and instead earned yourself a massive bonus, your first promotion and the attention of your superiors. You’d been riding that success and the secrets you’d learned in the process all the way to where you were now.

Stepping out of the shower you clean and dress yourself in proper attire. In this case a specially tailored suit that makes you look like another harmless executive but allows you to carry your weapon without being noticed. Fully legal thank god, perks of working for the people with enough money to or create any loophole they feel like.

Now dressed, you head downstairs to your waiting car and head…

Living in the Eastern part of the city you of course head West, given that MBI tower is in the exact center of the city. God knows how much money that took but MBI is swimming in it. Given the time, traffic isn’t too bad but you still arrive a little later than you really wanted to. Given your position you don’t exactly have standard hours but you’re on call 24/7 and are expected to make certain times and meetings.

Heading up the elevator towards the top floors where your office, boss and his boss are located, you get a buzz on your cellphone. It’s top of the line, tough enough to be bounced off a hard surface without damage and the best reception you can get outside of it being wired. Another perk of your job, even if you do have to leave it on at all hours and have been woken up by it more than just a few times at random hours of the night.

“Hatsu Toyoaki,” you immediately answer. Only a select few people have the number and you answer it the same way no matter what.

“Hatsu,” says the familiar voice of your boss, Mr. Oshida, “I’ve got something I need you to take care of.” All business all the time Mr. Oshida is, you hear the same tone of voice if it’s a meeting or somebody needs “taken care of” off the books.

“Yes sir.”

“I need you to...”

1. Meet with the Director and the Doctor immediately, they want you for some reason.

2. Deal with a situation in the labs, one of the subjects is asking for you again.

3. Come to my office, there’s some things we need to discuss.

“There’s a situation in the labs. One of the subjects is asking for you again.”

“Did they say which one sir?”

“No they didn’t, so I need you to deal with the situation and then explain proper protocol to the idiots down there afterwards.”

“Yes sir, I’ll take care of it.”

“See that you do.”

With that the call disconnects. Oshida is a decent enough boss and good at dealing with the big picture but he’s never been an action man. That’s your job.

Hitting a different button on the elevator, you override your previous destination with your badge and head to the labs. The fact that the labs exist is common knowledge for almost anybody at MBI and the public. The ability to actually go to any of the floors is restricted to maybe 20% of the employees. The inner labs, where you’re going, are known to even less people and restricted even further. It’s only recently that you’ve been given the full set of access to all the data but you’ve been in and out of the labs for years now. Perks of being rescued by a Sekirei.

As you enter the labs there’s a flurry of people going back and forth, some clearly just busy, some worried. All except the most focused move out of your way and those you deftly avoid. Not worth your time to run into them right now.

A scan of your badge and a retinal scan later and you’re into the inner labs. One of the head researchers is there, looking a little nervous.

“Sir!” he says, spotting you and heading over immediately.

“Dr.” You give him an acknowledgment, “What’s the issue?”

“Well sir...”

The scientist in front of you pauses, seemingly lost for words.

“Speak up man, what’s happened?” You start walking towards the cells, taking long strides as the man scrambles to catch up to you.

“There… there’s been an incident with number 7 sir. I…” The man pauses again and seems to shiver.

“What the hell happened with number seven? She’s one of the most docile subjects.” You know where all the subjects are kept and take the correct turn to her area.

“Uhm… well… I think you should just see for yourself sir.”

You sigh, making a note to let your boss know there needs to be at least one member of security cleared and in the lab at all times. This man is completely useless at the moment. A few more minutes of walking and you find yourself at her room… and discover why the good doctor might be a little off put.

You actually smell it before you see it. The mixed smell of blood, viscera and excrement that surrounds any recently dead body. It’s not something you’re unfamiliar with but the doctor is a civilian to the bone, he’s probably only comfortable with blood in test tubes. When you see the man in question, his body is somewhere between repeatedly punctured and shredded. You’ve never seen wounds like this before but you’re familiar with what number 7 is capable of.

“When did this happen?” You immediately start asking questions. “Why didn’t this get reported immediately?”

The scientist is covering his mouth and hiding around the corner, even as you lean in and try to get a better look at the mans wounds without getting blood all over your shoes. It’s a losing proposition but you can bill it.

“We… urg… we don’t know. He disabled the security in the area and took her out of her cell after some tests...” The man is turning green around the gills. “Then she escaped out one of the windows.”

You frown. Number 7 was one of your most docile subjects and you know her well enough that you know something extreme must have happened. You sigh. You’ll need to…

1. Let out a full alert immediately. All MBI assets will be on the lookout and you’ll inform your Boss immediately.

2. You need to do a deeper investigation into this before you do anything. Something is wrong with this scene.

3. Get the body cleaned up now. What happened doesn’t really matter. You can do a low key search for 7 through channels. She’ll turn up eventually.

You consider sending out an alert but decide relatively quickly that you should take a more subtle route. Not only would a full alert be relatively wasteful in terms of resources, your boss cares more about results than what you actually do to get them. Right now all you have is one dead, replaceable, scientist and an escaped subject. The subject is the main concern, the dead man can be dealt with. Lab accident of course.

“Go back to work Doctor, I’ll deal with things here. The control room is just on the other side still, correct?”

“Y-yes sir.”

“Good. Now go, try not to be sick.”

The man nods and nearly dashes off, while you take a few steps away from the dead man and dial one of the many special numbers on your phone.

Silence greets you on the line, though you can hear it’s active.

“I need a cleanup in I-7 for one. Maximum sanitation, no cleanup.”

“Affirmative.” The line clicks dead afterwards and you put away your phone. You head over to the control station for the local security and give it a once over. Pulling up a screen you give the system a quick sweep with some basic knowledge and a package you’ve had put together. It’s a little rough but you discover that the man was evidently a poor programmer, he didn’t actual delete the footage or even turn off the camera’s, just hid it.

The scene plays out on screen in front of you, the scientist bringing number 7 out of her holding area, cursing all the while. He hits her once, twice. She ducks away, clearly confused but the man continues. You have no idea why the man is doing this but it doesn’t matter. He started it and he’s continuing it even as she cries out. Yet she finishes it, only a few seconds later. You feel no sympathy for the man as you watch him get shredded by razor sharp ice and drop to the ground.

The woman looks around, clearly somewhat shocked by what’s happened. Wearing only a short gown, she stops only to grab the mans lab coat, the edge splattered by blood before she darts out of the room. As the recording ends you sigh and shake your head.

1. Number 7 is innocent of anything you care about. Let people know to keep an eye out for her, the situation is resolved otherwise.

2. You need to find number 7 soon, even if things are starting soon she’s not been cleared to leave the labs yet.

3. Full alert now, she’s killed and even if it was in self defense you need to get her back under control.

What you just saw puts everything in perspective. Number 7 is likely scared, half naked and probably completely lost by this point since she’s never been fully socialized like some of the others. Yet… yet you know her. You call them by their numbers most of the time but you know their names. At least the ones they’ve had around for a while like her. You lose track in the 70’s.

Number 7, Akitsu, is one of the quietest subjects and has never raised her hand before. She killed but she was heavily provoked. That doesn’t mean she won’t do it again but there’s still a chance you can bring her back without anything else happening. Especially if you can keep her and whoever meets her calm.

You begin to make a few calls, directing satellites and other various methods of surveillance around the area to find your missing subject. With that done you ponder what you should do next.

1. Take an active hand in the investigation. This is possibly the most important part of your job outside of making sure the labs aren’t breached.

2. Give your Boss a call, let him know what’s going on and ask what he’d like you to focus on.

3. Jump straight to the top. You can get a meeting with the Director on relatively short notice and he’ll appreciate the update, he’s getting more and more directly involved as time goes on.

You decide to get involved with the investigation yourself. Possible danger to the public, unknown status of the subject and not much else to go on aside from the dead scientist and the video at the moment. You could call your boss with an update but it would essentially boil down to “Dead guy, I’m looking for the subject.” Not something you really want to tell him since it doesn’t tell him anything he’ll care about.

You head to the elevator, passing by several very bland looking men in standard uniforms with some cleaning supplies. They give you a glance and a nod, which you return. Hitting the button in the elevator you go down just a few floors to one of the security rooms, where you’ve got a team working on tracking down Akitsu. Number 7. You’ve got very good coverage of the city but there’s still millions of individuals in relatively few square miles.

It takes hours but eventually you find her. A half naked woman as pale and generally exotic looking as she is draws attention even in a city like this. Checking the time it’s just after six, within normal hours but starting to push towards evening, the sun dipping towards the horizon.

1. Keep doing what you’re doing. Number 7 will recognize you and a one on one will keep her calm.

2. Send out a team to grab her. They’ll try to keep it calm but they’ll be loaded to keep her down if necessary.

3. Call higher, see what they’d like you to do. Your boss might be gone so you could end up dealing with the director.

You decide that you’ll keep taking care of this issue yourself. Number 7 knows you, at least well enough that she should recognize you. You aren’t sure if anybody else can say the same, at least not anyone you could ask to do it in time. Doctor Sahashi, The Director… a few of the other numbers maybe. You don’t quite have the power to just requisition them though.

That leaves you. Mr. Oshida doesn’t need to know and at this point he might not care. He’s very punctual at both arriving and leaving. You could bother him but he’d probably just grunt at you. Instead you stand from the chair you’d borrowed and head towards the door.

“I’ll take care of this myself. Have a team nearby but only on standby. I don’t want to spook the subject anymore than she already is.”

You get a chorus of affirmatives from the operatives around the room and you head towards the elevator. Heading down you go and grab your car, it’s late enough you might be able to head home afterwards if you get this done quickly enough.

Your team keeps you updated, it doesn’t seem like subject 7 is moving at all. It takes a while to get where you’re going due to some traffic and the fact it’s not on your normal routes but you make it with no further issue.

Stepping out of your car, you shut and lock it and stride towards where she’s located. You’ve decided that you’re going to do this yourself but you haven’t decided how you’re going to do it.

1. Keep it calm and professional. You’ll approach her on behalf of MBI and try to get her to come back with you immediately.

2. Try to be friendly with her. You’re acquaintances at the very least and she’s probably emotional at the moment. You’ll emphasize how you’re worried about her.

3. Just approach her and get her calm enough that you can call in a team, they can take her down more easily.

As the sun starts to set for real and you approach the center of the park where you know Akitsu is, you decide that you’ll have to keep this as loose as you can. Akitsu though she was docile before, still didn’t hesitate to take out the man abusing her when she had to despite any supposed authority he had over her. Approaching her as MBI will probably go over quite poorly as to her friend, Hatsu.

Nobody gets in your way as you reach the center and see Akitsu slumped over on a bench. You reach up to loosen your collar just a bit and unbutton your suit jacket, getting as casual as you can be without looking too unprofessional, you’re still technically working.

Akitsu looks up just enough to see you as you approach and you can see her eyes widen somewhat.

“Hey there Akitsu.” You make sure to use her name and greet her casually. This isn’t an interrogation and you aren’t out to get her. Maybe you aren’t following protocol to the letter but that’s not what they hired you to do in the first place.

“Ah...” she says with surprise, curling around herself even more. She’s already got both legs up on the bench and now she’s huddled protectively in a ball.

“Mind if I sit with you?” You gesture to the spot next to her.

The troubled woman glances at you and then to the seat before giving you an affirmative nod, which you take as permission. Taking the seat you lean back and keep your body relaxed. You know what she could do if she was threatened but right now she just looks wary, like an animal beaten one too many times.

“You had me worried. I was almost afraid I wasn’t going to find you.” You keep your words focused on the singular, you and her. No mention of MBI.

“You… you were?” She seems confused by this, her head and eyes gently turning towards you.

“Of course. Why wouldn’t I be?”

Akitsu blinks and then shakes her head. “He… he said I was worthless. A failure that nobody wanted.”
>>
>>2671798
You fight back a grimace. Whatever that idiot scientist got he deserved. You don’t know everything about Sekirei but you do know that most of them are rather emotional and somewhat needy, before and after they find their Ashikabi’s. You’re not sure what that’s all about but it’s been described to you as getting married genetically. Close enough for you.

“Well he was lying. I don’t think you’re worthless. Why would I come find you if I thought that?”

Akitsu ponders that and nods silently.

“So, do you want to get out of here? I’m sure you’re hungry and it’s getting dark. I can take you back home.”

Akitsu freezes at that, then shrinks in on herself somewhat.

“I… mmm...” She doesn’t outright say no but the way she holds herself makes it clear she’s less than thrilled with the idea.

1. Insist as gently as you can that she come back with you to MBI tower. She may not like it that much but it’s where she belongs.

2. Offer to take her somewhere else. A night or two away to calm her down at a hotel won’t hurt anything.

3. Go whole hog on the friend option, invite her back to your place. It’s secure enough, you can let people know what’s going on and you’ll be able to keep eyes on her at all times. Then you can get her back to MBI.

4. Other? (Subject to QM approval.)

Akitsu seems to be responding to the singular and personal best so you decide to keep it that way. You can explain your reasoning to your boss another time, when she’s safe somewhere you can keep an eye on her. That’s all that matters at this point, at least as far as you’re aware.

“I mean my place.” You keep your tone light, it’s almost like flirting except you’re pretty sure Akitsu has no idea what that is in the first place. An easy invitation, no pressure, a soft smile accompanying it.

“...Your home?”

“Yeah, my apartment. I’ve got plenty of food there and I’m sure I can find something better for you to wear than that.”

Akitsu’s eyes warm a surprising degree at that and she uncurls herself, leaning towards you a bit. Thankfully most of your youthful hormones have died off, otherwise you’d be having trouble keeping your eyes on hers. One thing is for sure, you’ve never seen an ugly Sekirei.

“You… would take me into your home? Truly?”

“Yes Akitsu.” Something about her words makes you a little bit concerned about the tone but at this point you really just want to get her out of here.

She finally nods and attempts to stand. You get up quickly yourself, supporting her with your hand when it’s clear her legs are a bit wobbly from sitting too long and a lack of food. Akitsu takes this surprisingly well, her arm going around your shoulder as she leans heavily on you. You put a hand around her waist and begin to guide her back towards your car, a few glances coming your way which you ignore. There’s no point in acknowledging them, they wouldn’t believe half of what you’ve done for your job. Carrying a half naked woman through a public park ranks so far down your “Give a shit” list it doesn’t even register.

Thankfully you make it to your car without incident, Akitsu settling easily enough into the seat where you buckle her up. Her eyes seem to leave you rarely if at all and by the time you hop in and get the car started her head is tilted to the left, allowing her a perfect view of you. Giving her a brief grin you pull out into traffic. Not many men can say they brought home a woman after work, even if it is just to take care of her. As you begin to navigate back towards your apartment you contemplate life and decide that you’ve had worse days.

You make your way to your apartment with little trouble, Akitsu sitting in the passsenger seat and watching you almost the entire way. You find it a little bit unsettling but she isn’t doing anything but looking at you so it’s not a big deal. Pulling into your building causes her to look around but that’s about it.

She manages to get unbuckled and the door open by herself, though you still help her into the elevator. She doesn’t seem to mind leaning against you, in fact you’re pretty sure she enjoys it but she seems a bit cold so it that could be why. A comparatively short elevator ride compared to the one at MBI and you make it to your floor. As you lead Akitsu to your door you spot one of your neighbors coming out of their room. The man gives you a look as his eyes dart between you and Akitsu. You just give him a smile and step inside.

Once inside you decide to…

1. Get Akitsu to bathe. It’ll give you time to report in and find her some clothes.

2. Get her some food, the poor girl has to be starving. You know the caloric intake of each of them is at least twice a normal humans.

3. Just drop her off on your bed, she’s exhausted.

First things first, she appears to still have some blood on her from what happened and she’s just generally messy. You’re not sure when the last time she bathed was but she could use one at this point. For the sweat if nothing else. You lead her towards the bathroom.

“Akitsu, can you take a shower by yourself? I’ll get you some clothes and then some food.”

The woman nods at you and manages to stand upright by herself once you reach the bathroom. She doesn’t waste any time in starting to strip out of her clothes, leaving you turning around rather quickly so you don’t see anything you don’t need to. Girl probably didn’t get the memo on stripping in front of men.

Thankfully getting clothes for her is rather easy, as you’ve got some “Emergency” packs stashed at your apartment just in case you ever need to have somebody over for… reasons. Akitsu definitely qualifies for the women’s large pack and you open it up, revealing two sets of clothes that should fit her, even if the brassieres might be a stretch. A number of toiletries and other items also comes with it and you grab them all as you head back towards the bathroom, fishing your phone out of your pocket. As you walk you take time to appreciate the…

1. Modern décor of a high class apartment. Perfect for your new job.

2. The old fashioned charm of classic Japan. It makes you seem a bit more respectable than you really are.

3. The functional but comfy mixture of whatever you personally like. It’s your house, it’s comfortable and you don’t care what anyone thinks.

Attempting to call Mr. Oshida simply results in the line going to voicemail, you didn’t call his emergency line since this isn’t an emergency and it’s clear that he’s not worrying too much over the matter. As you begin to dial the second number you get the bathroom door open and set the items down.

“Akitsu, there’s clothes and some other stuff here like shampoo that you might want.”

Before you can blink Akitsu opens the shower curtain, revealing swathes of pale, wet flesh. She doesn’t seem to care that you see her as she leans over, though you’re already turning around before you see more. That brassiere is definitely not going to fit.

“Thank you...” you hear her call from behind.

“You’re welcome!” you call back over your shoulder, even as your phone starts to ring on the next person on your call list. The phone rings a few more times and you think you might get away with not having to deal with this until tomorrow but then it picks up.

“Ah Hatsu!” The director’s voice is exuberant as always, “I was expecting your call. Is number 7 doing well?”

“Yes sir, Akitsu is doing well.” The name slips out before you even think about it and then you cough. “I mean, subject seven is fine. She’s currently taking a shower.”

“I hope you haven’t done anything to her, seeing as she’s not back in the labs.” The voice of Doctor Sahashi cuts into the line. She must’ve been meeting with the director.

“No ma’am. I just brought her to my place as she was highly reluctant to return at the moment. She’s safe and whole. I’m actually cooking her a meal right now.”

As you’re pulling ingredients for rice and some more hearty meat out of the fridge you begin to turn on the cookers.

There’s silence on the line for a moment and you can almost see the Doctor processing this information.

“Very well. Just make sure you don’t take advantage of her.”

“I’m sure Hatsu won’t do anything to Akitsu-chan Takami san! He’s been so nice to her before.”

You wouldn’t put it exactly as the director did but you appreciate the vote of confidence.

“I won’t do anything she doesn’t want me to ma’am. Aside from what I saw in the lab, that’s not my style. You know me.”

“Yes, I do.” The voice is grudging but Doctor Sahashi isn’t one to delude herself.

“Very well! I think Akitsu-chan should stay with Hatsu until she wants to come back. Don’t you think that’s a good idea Hatsu?” The director pulls out something ridiculous from nowhere. Normally it’s funny but normally it’s not directed at you.

Some of the equipment that you’re using to cook has served you since you graduated, yes you graduated despite what some people think, and you have no plans on replacing them unless they break down. There’s no true rhyme or reason to your décor but it’s mostly things with warmer, darker accents and a few spots of color that don’t stand out too badly that you enjoy.

Soon enough you’ve got a very sizeable meal going, one that’s mostly going to go to the woman in your shower. You’ve made enough that there should be some left over for you but you’re prepared to make more if you need to.

You hesitate briefly in your response but in the end you let out a soft sigh and nod.

“That’s… That’s perfectly fine sir. In line with what I was attempting in the first place. As long as it’s not going to affect whatever you have in mind with the plan.” Even you don’t know the full plan, nobody really does aside from the director and possibly Doctor Sahashi.

“No no, it’s fine! Akitsu-chan isn’t part of the plan yet so it’s no bother!” You can almost see Minaka smiling that grin of his without even being there.

“As long as she wants to be there.” Takami’s voice is sharp and you share her concern.

“Yes ma’am. She seems fine at the moment but I’ll bring her back as soon as she wants.”

You hear the shower stop and check the food you’re cooking once again.

“If there’s nothing else Sir, Ma’am, Akitsu seems to be done with her shower and I’ll be feeding her shortly.”

“Just keep Akitsu-chan happy Hatsu! We’ll see you tomorrow.” The Director’s voice is cheerful as always.

“As he says.” Doctor Sahashi is serious as always but you can hear the slight softening of her voice that indicates she’s accepted this as much as she can.

“Goodbye Hatsu!”

“Goodbye sir.” With that the line dies and you put your phone away.

Even as you finish preparing the food Akitsu comes around the corner. She’s dressed as best she can be, given her proportions. The shirt is tight but buttoned enough it looks half respectable and the skirt she’s wearing goes far enough down her legs that you aren’t worried about anything else.

“How are you feeling Akitsu?” you ask as you place food down at the table.

“Better.” She stands next to you, looking at the food.

“I made you some dinner. You should eat.”

“This is… all for me?”

“If you want. You don’t have to eat it.”

“...Thank you.”

Akitsu sits down and begins to eat, though she pauses and looks up at you.

“Are you… eating?”

1. Sit down and eat with her.

2. Tell her you’ll eat after her.

3. Beg off and go take a shower.

You may not be the best with women, your lack of a permanent partner sort of points to that, but you can tell that Akitsu would probably prefer if you stayed with her. That’s been her entire MO since you’ve picked her up anyway, so it’ll keep her happy if you do.

“Sure, if you’d like me to.”

Akitsu pauses at that, as if not processing the question.

“I… would like you to.”

You smile at that and take a seat, grabbing a relatively small portion of food and sitting across from her. There’s little talk, as Akitsu doesn’t have much to say and is busy eating the food in front of her. She’s remarkably efficient, the food disappearing at a rate you wouldn’t have expected even from someone you know eats more than the average human.

She glances up at you occasionally, as if seeking your approval or checking to make sure you’re still there. When you do catch her looking you give her a smile and she seems to relax each time you do. Your own meal goes down slowly, you take your time to enjoy it as best you can. It’s nothing special but it’s to your taste and you enjoy the savory meat that you made more for Akitsu.

It doesn’t take more than fifteen minutes for the both of you to go through a meal large enough for four people and you let Akitsu clear up the last of it, going to clean the dishes. She comes over with her dishes and sets them next to you, then stands there.

“Thank you Akitsu.” You smile at her and you see her face twitch a bit, her lip curling slightly.

“You’re welcome.” She nods to you.

As you finish you stretch, the day being relatively busy since you were trying to track her down but nothing too intense. Akitsu seems to be waiting next to you, attentive but not asking anything.

1. Go take a shower, you need to wash after your day.

You decide that you’ll take a shower and clean up after a long day. It’s a luxury to remain clean and you don’t mind taking advantage of that luxury whenever you can. You’ve crawled through enough nasty shit in your life, you don’t want to stay like that in your daily life.

“Akitsu, I’m going to go take a shower. You can do whatever you’d like.”

You walk to the living room and turn on the TV. It’s a generic news program but you see Akitsu turning her head at it.

“Here.” You hand her the remote. “You can watch whatever you want while I shower.”

Akitsu looks at it like it’s a strange object but then nods to you. You smile at her and go get a relaxing change of clothes from your room. Casual clothes, something to relax in. The shower itself doesn’t take too long, as you’re not exactly dripping in mud. Drying off, you ponder about the day and how long Akitsu might want to stay with you. While she’s not exactly been a burden so far, she does eat quite a bit. You could probably expense it to the company though, they’re rather generous with things like that.

You think that…

1. You don’t mind having her around. It’s not like you keep too much company anyway.

2. It’s just for the job, it doesn’t matter to you one way or the other.

3. You’d rather get her out of here sooner rather than later, you like your bachelor lifestyle.

You don’t mind having her around. You don’t have a massive number of friends given your job and lifestyle but it’s not as if you’re a loner. It doesn’t hurt that like almost all of the subjects she’s rather attractive. They range the gamut from beautiful to cute of course and you’ve seen most of them but not one of them is ugly. Even if they are technically aliens or genetic hybrids of some kind, you can’t deny it. You lock it up at work of course but here you can relax and admit to yourself your guest is one most men would kill for. Even if you aren’t going to do anything.

Stepping out of the bathroom you walk over to go check on Akitsu. She’s managed to find something on the TV and is watching it intensely. You move far enough that you can see what’s on the TV and find that it’s a nature program of some kind. One focusing on baby animals. It’s actually somewhat amusing to see, as she focuses on it so much that it’s only as you actually step up next to her that she looks up.

“Enjoying yourself?”

She flushes a bit and then nods.

“I don’t mind, I did tell you to watch what you want.”

Her flush fades and she nods again, offering the remote up to you.

1. Take the remote and pull up something you like, she seems fine with it.

2. Let her keep the remote and just sit down next to her. She’s pretty cute like this.

3. Take it and turn off the TV, it’s time for bed.

Given that it’s late and you had an even later night last night, you’re rather tired yourself. Still a few more minutes wouldn’t hurt. You just shake your head no at her and let her keep the remote, dropping next to her on the couch. She seems relatively pleased with this and goes back to watching the TV even as you take a minute to enjoy yourself. You’re not really in much of a mood to do anything strenuous like ask her about earlier today, so you let your mind wander and enjoy baby animals for a bit.

It’s only maybe fifteen minutes later as the hour handily rolls around that the program ends and you feel your eyes getting heavier. Akitsu had set the remote down between the both of you so you take it and turn off the TV.

“It’s late, time for bed.”

She simply nods to you and then stands up as you do.

There’s a number of things you need to do right before bed but at this point the biggest one is deciding where Akitsu will sleep. You’ve got a decently sized bed, there’s the couch and you do have some spare bedding you can pull out of storage for either you or her.

1. Take your bed, she can sleep on the spare bedding or the couch.

2. Let her take the bed, you can sleep on the couch.

3. Ask her if she has a preference on where she sleeps.

Your immediate instinct is that as the man, you’ll be sleeping on the couch. You’ve slept in much worse places and while it’s not going to be as comfortable as your bed it’s not exactly a bad place to sleep. You picked it out yourself and it’s plush enough that you don’t mind.

“You get ready for bed, I’m going to grab some things.”

Akitsu nods and heads for the bathroom, while you go to your bedroom and grab your spare bedding. Like many of your things its not exactly stylish but serviceable and comfortable. You carry the bedding back to the living room and sort them out so you can sleep. By the time you’re done Akitsu has finished whatever she needed to do in the bathroom and is looking on.

“You can sleep in the bedroom.” You nod towards the only room in the house where she hasn’t been yet.

She nods to you and heads to the bedroom without comment. You take that as a good sign and go do your evening cleanup and turn off the lights in the bathroom. Then you go turn on the MBI level security that you have installed on your apartment.

Last but not least you find your way to the couch after setting an alarm on your phone to wake up to. Settling into the couch you pull up a blanket over your shoulders and settle your head onto a pillow. Comfortable enough for now and certainly better than the floor of some hideout like you’ve done a few times.

It’s late enough and you’re tired enough that you’re about to fall asleep after only a few minutes. Sleep is another luxury that you certainly don’t mind indulging in appropriately.

Just before you’re about to fall asleep you hear a noise and turn to look.

Akitsu is standing next to the couch, wearing entirely too little from what you can tell though she’s not naked.

“Akitsu?” You nearly mumble, blinking your eyes to make sure you’re not hallucinating.

“Are you coming to bed?” Her voice is soft, though she sounds concerned.

You aren’t sure what she’s concerned about but the fact is you’ve got a woman dressed in your shirt and a pair of panties asking if you want to come to bed.

1. Tell her to go back to bed, you’ll be fine here.

2. Well… she’s offering. It’s not like your going to screw her or anything.

Honestly it wouldn't be that bad.
No woman could ever compare to our beautiful murdergoddess.
She speaks to the dark part of us, the part that enjoyed piling up all those bodies. The savage part of us, that rankles in a "civilized" society. What that piece of shit did to Akitsu, he was only foolish enough to do because he was "civilized". A savage would have understood that she could brutally murder him if she so chose, and would have respected her power. But he was "civilized", and that instinct had been bred out of him.

We are unflappable. The pinnacle of calm. There is no conversation awkward enough, no situation strange enough to breach our steely veneer.

The words Akitsu has spoken are still rattling around your head when you decide that as much as part of you would like to take the offer she’s given you, it would be a very bad idea. For any number of reasons to be sure, ranging from it being rather unprofessional to the fact that she’s an attractive woman wearing not nearly enough clothes and you haven’t had a woman over for a while.

You know however that simply sending her back off to bed would probably make her at least somewhat unhappy, she clearly doesn’t understand why it would be a bad idea. So you sit upright and toss off your blankets, gesturing for Akitsu to sit down next to you. She complies, sitting immediately.

“Akitsu.” You try to think of how you’re going to explain this. “I appreciate the offer to go to bed with you but I’m going to have to decline.” You can see her mouth open a little bit but you raise your hand. “It has nothing to do with it coming from you. Like I said we are friends and I do care about you. It’s just that it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to sleep with you given the situation. We’ve both had a long day and even though we’re friends it would still be somewhat unprofessional if I did so. We’re also not in the sort of relationship where a man and a woman should be sleeping together. There’s an order to things. You’re very beautiful and if circumstances were different I might do so but now is not the time. I hope you understand.”

Akitsu sits through your little speech with that same look on her face until you finish. She’s silent for a few moments and then she nods.

“I understand. Thank you for explaining.” She stands up once more and then looks back to you. “It is really not because of me?”

“No Akitsu. You’re not the reason.” Well, aside from the beautiful and half naked part. You don’t say that though.

“...Thank you.” She gives you a nod of her head and moves off to the bedroom.

You give off a sigh as she finally makes it back to the bedroom and lay your head back down on your pillow. The things you do for your job. This time was probably for your sanity as well. Akitsu is definitely… soft. You’ll have to deal with this more if she stays so hopefully she takes this one well enough she doesn’t ask again.

With that thought you drift off to sleep, sleeping the sleep of the righteous. At least as much as a man with your background can.

Alright. Calling this for the night. 8000 words is quite the achievement for me in such a short time, even if a number of them are choices.

Hope you all enjoyed it so far. Given the response I plan on continuing, though I've got no firm timetable. If I feel like it this week I may continue on this thread but no guarantees.

Questions, comments, concerns and all that very welcome.

What exactly is our job for this event etc? Why's she so self conscious? She seems like she's not all together there socially.

I am, I enjoy writing when I can do it properly.

Akitsu is a good girl and in short, she isn't all there socially. Sekirei, as far as the character knows, are aliens or genetically modified in some way so they have special powers. As such, they've been in labs all their lives and are not as social as most people. Some are particularly bad, like Akitsu. Others like number 8 or number 4 are rather socialized since they've been out of the labs for a longer time and you know them. For given amounts of "socialized" in some cases. Sekirei are very strange in some cases.

Akitsu is a good girl.
>>
>>2675540
So did she get accidentally winged? Or did we manage to avoid that?
>>
>>2675590
winged?
>>
>>2675590
Unfortunately not, given that this is roughly~ the same timeline so when she escaped she was already self winged. They never did get her back to the labs though.

>>2675605
Sekirei go through a process where they "bond" with a mate. It's called winging though you have no idea why. They grow wings~ It's also one of the reasons Akitsu is a bit odd. She doesn't have a partner yet and isn't sure she'll be able to get one.
>>
>>2675620
Well at the moment I think she is leaning towards choosing our character. Pretty sure all she needs is some time to think on it.
>>
>>2676005
It's mostly because of the fact we are the first dude not treating her like trash or just like a lab rat, with the possible exception of Minaka and Sahashi. She's kind of emotionally starved, doubly so because of the fact her species is naturally needy.
So she's latching on.
>>2675540
Thanks for running.
>>
>>2675486
Just a clarification. We originally went to the lab because one of the Sekirei were asking for us. Was that supposed to have perhaps been Akitsu before the incident or was that perhaps a different one we ended up not meeting yet?
>>
I'll be monitoring this quest with great interest.
>>
>>2676005
Here's hoping
Akitsu had a pretty harsh run in canon, she deserves to be happy
>>
>>2671748
That seems to be the implication yes.
>>
>>2675590
Wack scientist that got himself murdered fucked up and made it so Akitsu can’t be winged by ashikabis. Akitsu is a very good girl that’s desperately looking for value because to them if you don’t have an ashikabi you are worthless.
>>
So, how long can Hatau go before he gives in and cuddles the good girl?
>>
>>2676916
>Watching cute animals on the tv.
>She falls asleep on his shoulder
>He'll get up and send her to bed.
>In a minute, he's just going to rest his eyes, for a second.
>>
I'm liking this so far. Can we just keep Akitsu and not involve other sekirei relationships?
>>
>>2677127
Given how Sekirei are pretty muach expected to share decent Ashikabi, she might faint from happiness if we turn down anyone after getting into a relationship with her
>>
>>2677189
I feel though that if we do that, we might miss the chance to save other Sekirei from bad ashikabi situations or untimely fates.
>>
>>2677189
It would also give a boost to her self-esteem and self-worth.
>>
>>2677216
Yeah, I'd agree with that. I'm torn on it, alternatively, ask if she consents to any new sekirei.
>>
>>2677432
the only thing about that is, at least right now, she'll probably accept anything her partner tries. So if we do wind up winging her we'll really need to work on helping build her confidence before anything else, because we'll never know if she's actually ok with sharing otherwise

inb4 we're not even an Ashikabi and PoV switches to Akitsu after we go the way of Miya's husband
>>
>>2677448
I don't think guide would do that. I asked him awhile back if we'd be the waifu and he said no. Additionally it's a bit awkward to spend time doing a character thread to establish a guy just to kill him.
>>
>>2677216
Saving them does not have to involve winging them. Besides, it looks like we are going to be an enforcer with Akitsu as our muscle.
>>
>>2676084
Thanks for reading!

>>2676005
>>2676084
A large part of it is that. Akitsu is emotionally needs at the moment and you'll have various ways to deal with that.

>>2676916
That is fully up to you guys and how you treat her.

>>2676925
Is entirely possible.

>>2677127
That will be a bit of a fine line to walk because as >>2677189 says Sekirei are drawn to good Ashikabi's, though you aren't technically one yet. You're still in a position where many of them trust you due to what you've done.

>>2677216
There are many paths still open to you guys, including just chilling with Akitsu and all the way to being a major player in your own right. All paths include the possibility of keeping your girl/girls all happy.

>>2677224
She's got such a low self-esteem right now that simply treating her as a person would bring it up. Which you're doing.

>>2677432
>>2677448
There are ways to bring in new Sekirei as well as keep Akitsu happy and bring in new girls. It'll be harder than other ways but certainly possible. Nor will Akitsu be that hard to keep happy. She's not exactly the demanding type.

Nor is Hatsu going anywhere.

MIB is a big corp that has alien waifus.. for some reason.

They're all being released to fight. For... some reason.

It's a battle royal. Each girl needs to find an ashkibi?(Husband/boyfriend) for more power.

Not really sure what the end goal is.

MBI has alien waifu's because Director Minaka and Doctor Sahashi found a crashed alien spaceship on a new volcanic island they were the first ones to. (Hatsu does not know this.)

They're all being release to fight for a big wish at the end of the battle royale. (Hatsu also does not know this.)

They're being slowly released at the moment to go find their Ashikabi so the battle royale proper can start. (Hatsu does know this.)

Caster was in love with Kuzuki.
Saber falls for Shirou.
Lancer was initially summoned by Bazett, a fangirl who wanted to be with her mythical Irish husbando.
Archer is alternate universe Shirou who may or may not have hooked up with Rin in his original timeline.
Rider is totally in unrequited lesbians with Sakura.
Berserker's Master is a loli.

Kuu will be her normal age. I see no reason to change it.
>>
>>2678915

>>
>>2678949
I don't really like the implications of that. Sekirei only have on ashikabi for life. She is going to grow up and expects to be fucked. Do you want to fuck your daughter?

>>2678455
>>2678341

Strangely enough my only actual experience with Sekirei as a series is a fan-fiction crossover with Fate. It was an enjoyable ride. Post HGW Shirou takes the place of the main character and basically says "you idiots don't know anything about how to conduct a magical war for wishes, let me show you how it's done"

>>
>>2680260
Considering most everything is canon so far (though breaks like Yumi still alive can lead to big changes for sure), I wager he and his sister are going to still be around.
>>
>>2680309
*Yume, I mean
>>
>>2680311
Which begs the question of how involved will they be? Minato only got in the game thanks to Musubi literally falling on him, and if Yume is still alive there's a chance she didn't survive when she was young.

I honestly thought it was Miya who sent us cards since it sounds like something she'd do. Wouldn't be surprised if she's still a widow in this timeline, though.
>>
>>2680323
I’m actually pretty certain Musubi is actually alive and well. That mission we were the sole survivor of was likely the one that Musubi was on when she was young and therefore, was never captured and had whatever happened to her to damage her core.

>>2680332
Good guy us eh?
>>
>>2680379
Makes me wonder who else we were guarding alongside Musubi and if they actually remember us from back then.
>>

They probably do. Every sekirei of this generation is actually pretty young, they just grow up quick. A case can be made that Minato is older than Miya who is designated No. 01, sometimes No. 00

You wake up the next morning to the sound of your phone’s alarm going off… once. It’s enough for you to stir awake and blindly grope for where your alarm clock should be but not enough for any more than that. Instead of finding the button you were looking for you instead hit air repeatedly before managing to grab something softer and fleshier than you expected.

Realizing that this could have implications, your mind still isn’t processing fully enough to automatically figure out what’s happening. Instead you manage to force your eyes open and blearily see what you’re grabbing.

Akitsu is kneeling next to the couch, her eyes just now moving back from where you grabbed her shoulder. Thankfully you use an arching grab instead of reaching straight out, that could’ve been awkward. Her eyes meet yours even as her cheeks flare up slightly. She’s still wearing the outfit she went to sleep in last night, a shirt that is unbuttoned nearly down to her waist to accommodate her bust and you assume a pair of panties. You see no reason why she shouldn’t be at least and you aren’t rolling off the couch to check.

“Good morning Akitsu,” you say several seconds later.

“Good morning Hatsu-sama.” The ice woman responds almost immediately, seemingly better than the day before.

“Did you sleep well?” Part of your brain is working on autopilot, asking inane questions while the rest wakes up. You normally don’t have to make conversation until you’re in your car and making calls at the earliest.

“I did.” She pauses and looks at your arm again. “You slept well until the alarm.” She holds out your phone with one of her hands. “I turned it off for you.”

You almost make a comment that you already figured that out but even now it seems rude and you node, shifting yourself upright and finally removing your hand from her shoulder to take your phone.

Akitsu doesn’t move, even as you sit fully upright. It looks like she’s waiting for instructions and you need to decide what’s happening today.

1. You need to get to work like normal. With your alarm there’s plenty of time to shower and shave but you probably can’t cook a full meal like last night.

2. Take it easy this morning, you can cook for the two of you and get in slightly later. Given the circumstances it will be fine and you can explain if Mr. Oshida has questions.

3. Call in and let them know you won’t be coming until much later. If Akitsu is staying over long term you’ll need to go shopping and get her a number of things.

Can we also ask Akitsu if she's ok getting looked over by one of the scientists if they come to our house? I doubt she'll want to go back to the facility yet, but she definitely should get a checkup

As your mind process the fact that Akitsu is still waiting for you to decide what to do with the day, you eventually come to a decision. Despite her seeming passivity, Akitsu has been paying attention to you quite a bit and as much as you might want to just treat this as another day you need to make sure she’s settled in properly first. That means clothes, cleaning items and stocking up on more food. Perhaps a bit of entertainment as well though you aren’t sure on that one.

“Akitsu, go get cleaned up and put on the other set of clothes. We’ll go out after breakfast and get some more clothes for you.”

“Yes Hatsu-sama.” Akitsu nods and then stands, giving you a bit too much of a view even if you try to look away. The clothes are probably going to be good for your health in the long run as well, given that she’s apparently not concerned about you seeing things.

Standing up with your phone in your hand you realize that you’ll need to make some calls. The first one is easy, leaving a message at the general line that you’ll be out until later in the day. As you start cooking breakfast you make a call that you’re not sure will go quite as easily.

At first you think you might’ve gotten the call in early enough but after four rings Mr. Oshida picks up.

“Hatsu, I expect this is about the task you went on yesterday?” Business as usual with Mr. Oshida, no time for introductions.

“Yes sir. I successfully recovered Subject 07 and got her to return to my residence with me in lieu of the labs which she was showing resistance to. I spoke with the Director afterwards and he suggested she stay with me for the time being. I of course agreed and she’s still here. I plan on coming in later today given the need to settle her in and prepare for her stay. I am of course still available to be called in if anything urgent comes up and will be in my office after lunch.”

There’s silence on the line for a few seconds before Oshida lets out a sigh.

“There’s no helping it if the Director suggested it. I do expect you to come in and do some work, we aren’t running a nursery here.”

“I understand sir. I’ll make sure to file the appropriate reports.”

“See that you do. Until then.”

Another quick conversation with Mr. Oshida done, thankfully.

You’re still in the middle of cooking breakfast when Akitsu comes back out of the bathroom, dressed in the second set of clothes you had packed away. This time you can see that it’s rather ill fitting on the woman, given that her body type is rare for most Japanese women and your “large” category is rather baggy to make sure it fits a variety of body types.

“I am ready Hatsu-sama.” Akitsu stands next to you, even as you’re cooking. You glance at her once again and appears attentive.

“Thank you Akitsu. If you take a seat I’ll have everything ready in a minute.” Akitsu takes a second and then nods, moving to sit down where she can watch you. Thankfully it only takes a minute or two more before you’re finished and lay out the food for both of you. This time you simply sit with her, which causes her to subtly but noticeably perk up.

While you eat, aside from noting that you’ll certainly need at least three times the groceries you normally would, you note that you’ll probably be set for most supplies with Akitsu but properly fitted clothes might take some doing and that will probably be the main time taker of your day.

You decide…

1. You can hit up one of the local clothes stores. Finding items that fit properly might take some doing but surely there’s some.

2. You can hit up one of the downtown boutiques. It’ll cost more and you may need to move around a bit for specialty items but you’ll get what you need.

3. You could go to that place. You’re pretty sure it doesn’t actually have a name and you don’t know how much it’ll cost but you’ll walk out with properly fitted clothes for Akitsu.

You mind immediately goes to the only place you’re absolutely sure will have items to fit Akitsu properly. They can fit anyone or at least that’s what they say. The place is conveniently located in an out of the way area of one of the more fashionable districts in the city, though you can’t just walk in. Members only, invitation only, lines of credit, no cash. It’s a place that considers actually taking money from a customer directly crass. You’ve only known about it for a few years, just enough to end your probationary period after being introduced by MBI.

Looking at Akitsu you decide that while she may not fully grasp what will go on in the store, she’ll appreciate a well finished wardrobe. It also helps that they’re absolutely discrete and nobody will comment on the rather large tattoo on Akitsu’s forehead. Not that it would bother you but you don’t want any confrontations at all.

When you both finish eating at roughly the same time, you start to gather the dishes but are stopped by Akitsu.

“Hatsu-sama still needs to get ready. I can clean for you.” Her voice is soft and she looks at you almost deferentially but it’s still a statement.

Looking down at yourself in your sleeping attire you smile and nod.

“Thank you Akitsu.”

Her cheeks start to turn pink at that and you go get ready once more. Finishing up with the last piece of your suit and making sure you once again have your weapon secured you step out and find Akitsu waiting for you.

“Ready to go?”

“Yes Hatsu-sama.”

As you step out and lock your door once more, you glance at the woman who can somehow summon icicles sharp enough to kill a man out of nowhere but is acting almost like a servant.

“You can just call me Hatsu if you want Akitsu.”

She pauses at that, going somewhat stiff as you turn away from the door.

“Akitsu?”

“Ah… thank you… Hatsu.” She flushes again and you smile.
>>
>>2688100
The ride to your destination is quiet, Akitsu seemingly content to watch you drive and you focusing on the roads. Thankfully it’s generally in the direction of work but you’ll probably have to go back home to drop off most of it after Akitsu gets fitted. Parking in one of the nearby parking areas, you make your way to a brightly colored if discretely placed door.

Knocking on it causes the small plate in the middle to open, a stern eye looking over you and Akitsu. You’d find it almost comically outdated if you weren’t certain of the several camera’s and other guards nearby.

“Name?”

“Hatsu Toyoaki and guest for guest fitting.”

There’s a pause as the man consults either a sheet or tablet of some kind and then he grunts. The plate in the door shuts, then the sound of a lock withdrawing is heard and the door opens inward.

You step inside with Akitsu following you, her curiosity having gotten the better of her as you head down a dimly lit hallway. Stepping into a somewhat more brightly lit reception area, you find several people waiting for you. One you even recognize, you don’t know his name but you assume he’s a manager or organizer of some kind.

“Toyoaki-sama, it’s a pleasure to see you again. I understand your guest is the one here for the fitting?”

“That is correct.” You nod towards Akitsu’s current dress. “As you can see her current wardrobe is somewhat lacking.”

The man looks Akitsu over and you can tell he probably thinks little of her clothes but the people you assume are tailors behind him seem somewhat eager to get started.

“As you say sir. May I ask what we should prepare for her?”

1. Just a few items. Day clothes, some sleepwear. Limited choices and variety but the least hurt on your wallet.

2. A decent sized wardrobe. More variety, somewhat of a range between casual and formal. You won’t be saving money but it won’t break the bank.

3. Go all out. You aren’t sure when or where she might need formal wear but it couldn’t hurt to have it. Your wallet won’t be enjoying the experience though.

(Definitely last post for the night. May or may not start a new thread tomorrow night. Hope you're all enjoying.)

In-character, we haven't decided to have her move in permanently yet, so no need to go crazy.

It doesn't make sense to go nuts until we decide to keep her around long term.
>>
>>2688276
>>2688269
It also doesn't make sense to go to this place instead of a normal store, so while we are here, might as well spend.
>>
>>2688299
I figure coming here is a matter of wanting to do something nice for her, after what happened.
>>
>>2688313
This, pretty much. She's not even going to care about anything more than the necessities, and this place is crazy expensive if it's going to hurt our very well paid wallet.

We can fill out her closet later at normal stores if she shows an interest.

Make sure we get her some nice dresses too. Gotta make the ice-fu feel pretty and appreciated.

Unless we can get extra hazard pay from this I feel we should not go too much in the red here.
>>
>>2688339
Based on Akitsu's wardrobe choices in canon, Hatsu's also going to need to learn a fair bit about BDSM if he hasn't already
>>
>>2688102
>2. A decent sized wardrobe. More variety, somewhat of a range between casual and formal. You won’t be saving money but it won’t break the bank.
This seems like the best option here
We don't want to go all out and have no money, but we went to the super weird expensive place so we may as well get a decent selection
>>
>>2688583
Was that actually her choice of wear or was that what guy she was originally with got for her?
>>
>>2688600
Hayato doesn't seem like the type to dress her up like that if she doesn't want it, he mostly wings people against their will and then let's them do what they want
So it's a bit of a toss-up which one suggested the outfit, but she definitely doesn't mind being chained up a bit
>>

They don't really need it, what with superhuman endurance and agility to close the distance anyway. It would really only be useful against human opponents, and it's not worth the issue.

>>
>>2693857
I mean, she might not be as murdery considering Yume is alive.
>>
>>2693871
I feel that only curbs the obsession she held for Musubi and not her murderhobo ways. I guess having her rival actually survive might have made her mellow out a bit given Yume's friendly nature and talks of Love. Wouldn't count on it doing much though.
>>
>>2693871
Pretty sure Guide has already said Karasuba is her canon self here, so yes she is as murdery as she ever was.

Well, sounds like a commando of sorts to me.
MBI called for wetwork, and we answered.
>>
>>2697233
eh, corporate espionage is pretty massively different than tactical espionage or survival search and evasion, which are traditionally commando-esque things
we're definitely savvy enough to go kneecap an Ashikabi or hold them hostage when we get into a fight though

to be fair, not all commandos are fighters. My buddy for instance is a medic, he usually doesn't have to fire his gun, just stitch people up.

From what he told me the teams he does stuff with is usually a 4 man, a techie, a shooter, him the medic and a team leader.

Not saying MC is but anything is possible.

>>

I guess what I was saying and am bad at getting across is sometimes luck is a good commando trait?
>>
>>2698245
Luck is the best trait. But we may have burned all of Hatsu's already. Because Yume likes us, Karasuba thinks we're good in a fight for a human, and we have a chance with Akitsu. And this is still the opening act
>>
>>2698294
Yeah, we've been really lucky, but then we always are in guides quest. Always bet on guide.

But honestly I do hope we can get Karasuba, I used to read the manga and watch the show before HPQ, but seeing her in that made me waifu her.
>>

Sadly, this won't be HPQ Karasuba. I doubt she'll be as nihilistic as canon since Yume's around, but I don't think she'll ever really value anything other than blood and death
