I just noticed my first thread is on page 8, so I guess it's time to start a new one huh?

Also, I don't know how to archive shit, I've been out of the game for way too long, but if anyone could help me out with that I'd greatly appreciate it.

Let's recap shall we?

In our first thread we woke up, a tiny nearly motionless blob. After a small meals, we lucked into a sleeping drunk man. From their, our growth exploded. We continued to eat more and more people, but we were careless. Our reckless consumption led to us being found by some secret government agency that may or may not have created us in the first place. Whatever the case, we've beaten the first agent with the help of our as of yet unnamed minions. We then fled into the bay, filling your flesh spawn with oxygen pockets, you were ready to take on the deep.

After a small hunting trip to gather up lots of new aquatic dna, you retreated to your new lair in the underground lake.

You have decided to hunt human once more, and fulfil your promise to your spiked minion, who wishes for more intelligence. Still, you must decide exactly how you intend to do so.

>Back into the bay, and then (write in)

>Down one of the unexplored river forks

>Up the feeding river towards the river's source

>Let's hang out here for a bit, tinker a bit with the flesh spawn

>Hunt for more food (write in where you hunt)

>Hunt, but for our minions

>Back into the city

>Back into the bay, and then (write in)
Lets just swim around underwater for a bit until we find a ship thats small enough that we can probably quickly kill everyone on it.
>>
>>2660454
This.

For brains the easiest thing is going to be taking humans one and fusing them into the minion who wants to be smarter. After processing said brains of course.
>>
>>2660435
Congratulations on reaching the second thread. I've been here since the beginning and I plan to see this through to the end.
>Back into the city
Might be a stupid choice but we can always attempt to murder isolated people and leave a few body parts to make it look like a serial killer did it. Particularly that one serial killer we saw on TV earlier in thread one.
>>
>>2660505
You recall that said serial killer was reported to be active only in the industrial district of the city.

Nevermind then, I'll switch my vote to boarding a small boat or two with the others.

Deciding to leave for the moment and return to your hunt, you slip into the water. You find you no longer require the use of the flesh spawn in order to keep your form stable. What small portion of your mass that does diffuse into the water is small enough that you'd have to stay in the water for hours before you'd even begin to feel the effects. You confidently navigate the twisting streams of the forked underground river, knowing that all paths would lead to the sea.

It is not long before a light appears in your path, and perhaps for the first time you realize you'd been navigating the unlit cave with ease, able to see clearly despite the lack of visible light. You shoot out of the mouth of the waterfall, into the small shallow cove below. It's a bit of a rough landing, but it'd take more than a simple fall to do any lasting damage to one such as you. Within moments, thanks to your mild regenerative powers, any blunt force trauma you'd experienced was barely a memory.

You seep once more through one of the wall fissures, once again passing into the salty waters beyond.

Once there, you swim confidently through the waters. You find movement in the sea is easier, perhaps that is thanks to some of the animals you'd ingested in your previous slumber, or perhaps it was just easier to focus on movement when you weren't carefully monitoring your oxygen supply. Whatever the case, there's a new sense of freedom in your movements. It's almost like flying, some distantly digested pigeon's brain informs you, but still very much different. Instead of updrafts, you must contend with currents, and quickly learn to move with the ocean when you needn't move against it. It is an almost peaceful experience, and would have been wholly peaceful if you weren't frequently bombarded by plastic droppings left by the slovenly creatures who believed themselves the rightful heirs to this world.

You allow yourself to drift with the currents for some time, constantly keeping your eyes glued to the surface.

In the end, you hear your prey before you see them. A lone speedster, circling around the cape out of the bay, buzzing the waters with an obnoxious and distracting buzz. You can feel it ripping through the water, and quickly move to intercept.

Above, a young red-headed youth and his female companion had left not long ago from his parent's private pier They were enjoying the sun and the surf. These waters were normally pretty calm, so he was able to show off and really gun it. However, just as he crested his top speed, they hit something. Whatever they hit was massive, as they bounced off of it's form and lost fell from the boat into the water below. As he was ripped off of the boat, the key to the small speedster was ripped out as well, dangling from his waist by a cord. The boat now powered down and empty nearby.

Once they are in the water, they are all but helpless against you. You now have two humans in your possession. What shall become of them?

>Feed their brains to our spiked minion, let's make good on our promise

>One brain for the minion, one for us. It's only fair right?

I dont see why we shouldnt let our minion try.

Also, can we decide on a name for the little bastards already? We can only say 'hey, you' for so long. How about thing 1 and thing 2, or spike and shell?
>>
>>2660720
You've never infested anyone yourself, and are unsure of the process precisely. Though you have tried and failed in the past so you know certain things that won't work. You're pretty confident that your next try will be successful, but you have no idea whatsoever if your minions possess the same abilities as you. In some cases it seems they do, as the plated minion has the ability to treat his body as amorphous, like you can treat yours, while the spiked minion is always in the same form whenever he's not attached to you.

It's possible, but you aren't totally sure.
>>
>>2660742
Well we can always test out infestation with our other minions once we find more candidates. We might even be able to pose as a family in some house or something.

Seems to be agreement on the way we're splitting the resources, are we infesting one of 'em, if so, which one? Or are our minions giving it a shot?
>>
>>2661011
Let's try and infest them personally since we're more amorphous than our minions.

Also let's infest the female since the male probably weighs more and thus has more mass for our minions to share.
>>
>>2661026

Alright works for me, write up soon.
>>
You can feel your mass writhing around them. Holding them firmly in place as your being enters their bodies. You experiment first on the man's body, reacquainting yourself with the brain and the process that goes into trying to bend his human will to your own. Like your first victim, you fail, and cause him to do. Having expected that, you rip his brain free from your body and pass it into your spiked minion, who is still attached to you form.

The girl however, proves more pliable. Apparently she was able to feel the man's discomfort at the fluid-like nature of his captor flowed into his brain through his mouth and nose. Not keen on having the same done to her, she begins panicking. Something that feels familiar to you, as you recall the panicked mess your plated minion was in when he'd first been spawned.

As you navigate her fear, you find her mind almost eager to submit if it meant that death could be avoided.

You spend much of the next hour there, floating below the surface of the wrecked speeder, before you are finally sure that this girl's mind is well and truly bent.

You now know all there is to know about her. She is Sophie Duncan, daughter of Heide and Thomas Duncan. She works at the seaport as a guide on the ferry, and occasionally flirts with the rich young men who use the ferry to bring their sports cars out to Declan Island.

You find your mind filling with knowledge of the local area of the city, especially the places where Sophie frequents. As you finally expel her from your body, sure that your work is done, you are surprised to see her mostly unchanged. There are dark rings under her eyes, but no dramatic transformation. In fact, she still seemed mostly normal. You could feel a little piece of yourself inside of her however, embedded deep in her brain. Through it she could communicate with you, and you with her.

It's an odd feeling. While you know that she cannot mute your voice, you cannot directly compel her to move. After an hour contained inside of you she is fully aware of your power, and isn't likely to oppose you. But at the same time, the fact that she could oppose you if she wanted to bother you. You could kill her immediately after her disobedience, but it's unsatisfying to know that she still retains that much free will. Perhaps if you were smarter you could fully control her. It is hard to say, but worth considering. You allow her to swim over to the powered down boat, and proceed back into town. What do you instruct her to do once she's there?

>Charm us a few more meals

>Here's a little piece of me. I want you to get someone to swallow it.

>You said you worked on the barge? Would sure be a shame if somesort of mechanical failure caused it to sink with all sorts of people on board

Rolled 15 (1d100)

Looks like we're going the brainwashing route.

Lemme get 3 rolls, all dc 70

These rolls are to first break her attachment to her self. Then, to break her attachment to others, and finally, to give her life new meaning as the herald for humanity's new purpose.

Any if you succeed on 2 out of the 3 rolls, you will succeed the first two of the points, regardless of the order of the roll. (For instance, if you roll 17, 44, and 75, you will have passed only the first point, to break her attachment to her self.)

Also, it seems your recently slightly more brainy companion is thankful for your donation of brain, and wants to try to help you. His roll will go towards bolstering one of those three points depending on need.

You can't help but feel dissatisfied with your work. You begin whispering to her mind through the part of you now left within her. You can feel her brain as it formulates responses to your words, which are mostly a cacophonous din of many sounds all overlapping. While she had been mounting the speedbike, and getting ready to jet off, she suddenly hesitates. In a fearful voice she calls out to you "Wh-What are you doing? I agreed to help you, what else do you want?" She cries.

Everything. you respond matter of factly in her mind, the one word cutting through the chaos of the many voices.

You are the first. Do not let that inflate your ego for your brethren shall be legion. You must understand your role perfectly, so that all who follow know exactly what is to be expected of them.

You spend a good while, but her mind is your plaything now. After another few moments of the confused malicious whispering, you have a pretty good idea of how her brain works, how it responds to different stimuli, and how to pull it apart. You know for instance, that she is deathly afraid of heights, and refuses to ride the ferris wheel on the boardwalk. You know that she is afraid of horses, and that she doesn't like the freckles around her nose.

You begin to understand her entire sense of self. She secretly likes that she's a redhead, because it's as rare as it is. In fact, it was the main reason she'd been able to approach the young man who'd only moments ago been ripped from her life forever.

You start with the insecurities first. You show her that there is nothing to be feared from heights. Your perseusive power over her is so strong, you can feel her agreeing with you when you suggest that if required, she would leap from a building. Your voices in her mind compile, chanting in irregular rhythms, so softly as to not be distinguished easily. Each voice proceeding at a tempo, but all clearly repeating the same thing.

You tell her she has no more to fear. Her fear has been taken from her. All that Sophie Duncan was is now gone. All that remains is what you allow. You allow just enough to think, and pretend to be sophie, but no more. Her purpose in life is simple. It's the same as your own purpose, and the purposes of your minons. Her purpose is to help us grow stronger. There are many ways in which she can do this.

All at once the words overlap, all at the same time the commonly repeated phrase is heard.

You is no more. Only we remain.

Her sanity is, at this point, already cracking. You decide to drive a wedge into her sanity to shake things up a bit.

>cont
>>
>>2662305

You show her what you have seen in the oceans. The plastic waste, the garbage left by man's carelessness. You show her the toxic sludge held in the sands below. You show her the trash heap where you'd hunted your first pigeon. You show her the human waste that you have seen all around you as you've made your way in this world, and you show her how they are not fit to stand atop the food chain.

You feel her starting to doubt. She was a pretty eco-friendly girl in her day, which is exactly why this line of attack works so well. That sense of duty she'd felt was built on a greater foundation of guilt and shame. Shame in her fellows for allowing things to get so bad, and guilt for not being able to do more to help. She sees what you are capable of, and she wants to believe.

You can feel her thoughts as they whir, but you do not interfere. You allow her to puzzle through this on her own. She thinks of the factories, and the corporations that run them. She thinks of the way people are treated. How many lives are lost in the daily grind? And who turns the grinder?

This is interesting. For all the brains you've consumed, you've rarely had such insights into how their society is actually structured. You continue to observe her thoughts as she thinks all the flaws she can come up with about the society in which she lives, and you let her concince herself that maybe a little culling wouldn't be the worst thing.

This is, however, not enough.

It is all well and fine that she would fight her fellows willingly, but she must understand the role that she must play.

You have so far made far more use of the stick in this exchange, but know that the carrot has value, so you begin to dangle it in front of her eyes once she's sufficiently enbittered toward her fellow man.

You see the truth of what I say. Now, see your role in the future.

You show her images of the flesh spawn, images of your minions. You allow her to experience one of your memories. The first time you'd joined with your minions all together at once. The sensation of having their mental faculties at your disposal. The unique sensation of sharing a mental space with other distinct entities. The free flow of information and thought between minds, the way in which you all came to conclusions as one. You perhaps tone down the fact that your voice reigns supreme, and you alone can restrict your own thought when connected in that way. It is irrelevant for what you are trying to do.

You want her hungry for the chance to be a part of that... some day.

If you serve me well, perhaps one day you can be like we are. I have the power to make you like this. You will be much changed in the process, but if you serve me well I will leave that decision in your hands.

>cont
>>
>>2662307
You can feel her mind whirring, trying to figure out ways in which she can serve. Her mind jumps all over the place. Everything from buying out whole pet stores with her savings, to sneaking us into the zoo. You feel mild amusement at that, and decide that she is finally ready.

You may return now. I can sense that what I have done just now has changed something in you. You may find it difficult to continue acting like the person you were before. Should any ask, you saw your boyfriend get eaten by sharks, and only narrowly avoided death yourself thanks to his heroic sacrifice. The grim experience has changed you, and that is to be your explanation if one should notice any changes in your demeanor. Return to your normal life, and await further instruction. You will hear from me when I have need of you.

And with that, feeling much more satisfied with your work, you watch as she travels into the city.

Well, that was certainly a fun break from the hunt and grow cycle. What next?

>Go take a nap in the lair, let the minions out to go hunting. This whole ordeal has been somewhat draining, and I can feel something odd in the back of my mind.

>Who says we're done hunting? Let's knock over another boat and see what we catch.

Unlike with the creation of your minions, this infestation business is hard work. You can't recall having ever felt tired before, but now that you feel it, you want little more than to sleep. Minions in tow, you make your way back to the base. However, as you begin trying to squeeze through the cracks you realize that the human body still contained in your form is too bulky to fit through with you.

You concentrate on where it is inside of your being, and as you do so you focus on your ability to create claws and needle-like spikes. You puncture the body through innumerable times, before using the eight claws you can form to shred the body into smaller pieces. As for the bone structure, you pass it along into the membrane that marks the end of your body, and the beginning of your plated minion's.

You wait a few minutes while he digests the rigid meal, soon incorporating the bonemass into his own amorphous form.

With that out of the way, you pass into the wall, and quickly navigate the streams and waterfall toward your base. As you navigate the waters, you eventually start to detect something familiar in the water. Something that reminds you a great deal of yourself. The source is plain when you arrive back at the underground lake. The flesh spawn that had been dipping into the water has grown quite a bit. Now the cloudy reddish matter is drifting quite a ways down stream, and has all but polluted the lake where you live. When you arrive, you see some sickly looking fish milling about in the cloud, waiting on the slow moving tendrils to engulf them, as they had several of the other nearby fish and crabs.

You then emerge from the water, and you notice that the rest of your flesh spawn seems to have likewise grown in the time you were gone. You note that the crabs that had been caught are now all entirely gone, and the flesh spawn has begun to form small structures near where the creatures had died. Six miniscule bubbles that stand a deeper red than the rest of the flesh spawn all surround another small bubble, which is itself shaded a more purple color. Interesting, but irrelevant in the moment. You are tired, and you have elected to take a nap.

As you curl up in the center of your flesh spawn, you can feel that tickling feeling in the back of your mind growing more prominent. As you focus on it, you realize there is something tangible there. You can feel it. You can feel her

As you focus, you can see the boardwalk underfoot as the girl walks. She's accompanied by a young man, an officer of the law of some sort, and he seems to be listening intently.
>>
>>2663201

It's an interesting experience. You can feel what she feels. You can feel the wind moving from your throat and vibrating the coords in your neck to produce the sounds, even though you aren't in direct control of what she does. You listen, amused by the novelty of the situation, knowing that your lack of control is only a thin veil, and that a word could make her do whatever you wished.

"A-And then, oh god, I don't know how it happened, but one moment we were swimming and then we hit something... I-It must have been the shark, I didn't see a thing, but the next thing I knew we were treading water and the boat was forty feet away. H-He threw me..." She paused for a moment, to compose herself. Not bad acting, even you almost bought it, despite having fed her this very story. "He threw me the keys, saying to get out of there. By the time I reached the speedster, I couldn't find him. There was nothing for me to save." She said with a sob. By this point in the story, she's reached his squad car.

"I'm sorry ma'am, that sounds truly awful. I... I think we have enough for our report. Please don't leave town for a while as we may have more questions for you. Do you need a ride anywhere? You'd said he drove you both out here correct?" He asked, writing something down in his book. Genunine concern seemed present on his face. He was a younger cop, not yet hardened by the line of work he'd chosen for himself.

"N-No sir, I live near the bay. I can walk home from here, and honestly I'd prefer to be alone now."

"Alright ma'am, I understand. If there's anything we can do for you don't hesistate to give me a call." He produces a pad, and writes down a phone number. "That's my personal line, if you'd like I can contact you if the coast guard digs anything up. Sharks big enough to do what you've described don't get that close to shore too often, so we need to make sure that the waters are safe on the other side of the horn. I don't imagine you're too eager to go out on the bay again after this, but if you were considering please at least wait a week or two so we can make sure the waters are safe."

You feel a little amused at that comment, the poor fool has no idea what truly happened, which bodes well. She should be able to return to her normal life without much incident.
>>
>>2663203

As you spend time watching, you realize that this is the source of your fatigue. To be dominant over a human, who is able to think and feel and act with pure autonomy is stressful. It saps your mental resources in a way that controlling your minions does not. You'll have to pick and choose your human agents carefully from this point, or otherwise be much more proactive in increasing the amount of brainmatter you have at your disposal. A good thing to know.

With that avenue of self discovery explored, you return your focus to your main body. You still feel somewhat groggy and tired, but you focus yourself on distancing the connection to the girl As you do so, you feel it becoming tenuous, but your mental facilities are somewhat restored. You do not worry too much about the lessened bond, as you know what you've done to the girl's mind. She would be obedient even if you severed the bond entirely. However you are unwilling to do so, more for fear of what may happen to the piece of yourself left in her mind if you severed your control entirely.

With that done, you turn your attentions to what else you may do.

This quest is fucking great, I love quests like this. Consuming entities, growing larger, making legions of minions. I hope this quest lasts a long time.

You take a moment after shifting your focus back to your primary body and investigate the strange bubbles that had formed near the lakeshore. You can sense your minions both hunting, and note that they don't hunt as a pair. The spiked minions seems to be hunting just up the river, while the plated minions is hunting downstream of you. You dismiss the thought as you examine the strange bubbles. It might be your imagination, but have they grown somewhat bigger? You prod at one of the red bulbs, and feel contained within a deposit of usable mass. You then prod the central purplish lump, and find that it contains a nodule of usable brainmatter.

As you continue to observe, you spend perhaps an hour or so flicking small crabs into the area, and watching as they quickly get grabbed and entangled in the flesh spawn. Slowly, the nodes begin to grow into short tendrils, no more than a few inches in length so far, but notable enough to see the difference. The purplish node doesn't seem to have changed much, but that's not unusual. Crabs don't have a whole lot of usable brainmass, though there is still a little bit. You think perhaps it's grown slightly as well, but it's difficult to be sure.

Interesting enough. You could strip the mass away and add it to your form if you wanted, but for the moment you opt to leave it be. You have a moderately large meal to consume. It's only one human, and with your current size it's not too substantial of a meal, but your original intention on coming to the lair was to take a nap, and so far all you'd done was watch Sophie and feed your pet carpet. You settle in, focusing on the human flesh inside of you and begin the process of digestion.

As the world goes fuzzy, you feel the connection you share with Sophie coming more into focus. You realize you could spend some time focusing on her while your body digests, if you choose to do so, or you could just let the sleep take you and stay grounded in your own body.

As your body begins to go dormant, you shift your focus to the part of your being that is within Sophie's mind. It has been a while since you first observed her, and find that she's now back at home. In the background, a television plays, but she doesn't seem to be too invested in it. Instead, she's on the internet. You notice that she has about thirty tabs open, the one she's currently on seems to be a site which sells flash frozen mice in bulk for the purposes of feeding pet snakes. She sees that she can get twenty-five mice in this manner for just under a dollar. A quick probe through her brain informs you that that is surprisingly cheap. You've never tried frozen food before, but you have killed many of the things you've eaten just before eating them, so you at least know that your food musn't be alive.

She drags that tab off of the screen, adding it to a list of about six tabs in another browser she'd had up in the background, before going back to the dozens of tabs that she'd previously been looking at. She quickly closes a few of the next tabs, which were immediately apparent to her eye as useless. You're not quite sure why, but then you don't really get this whole internet thing. For as much brain mass as you've absorbed by this point, most of the finer points of human technology are alien to you. Continue to watch her work for sometime. She adds a few more sites, one which also sells frozen rodents, but rats instead of mice, which appear to both considerably larger and more expensive than the mice. She also a few puppy mills to her list. None of that seems alltogether filling to you, but you appreciate that she's taking it upon herself to feed you. You'll never say no to free food afterall.

After about half an hour of watching her like this, you feel a stirring in your body.

While it's not fully conscious yet, you can feel an excahnge of nutrients between it and the flesh spawn. It's interesting, but the flesh spawn seems to be fused to your main body in the same way that your minions do, even though you can't seem to get it to fuse like that when you're consciously trying to. You feel a lot of the fibrous tissue from your human being transferred into the flesh spawn. The tendons, the ligaments, and anything that isn't pure meaty flesh for your own consumption. It isn't much longer before you feel that connection sever, and the connection beween your consciousness and your main body comes back online, as you begin to rouse from your rest fully.

Well, that was pretty boring, but it was somewhat educational at the very least.

You note that the flesh spawn seems to have become more prominent in the lake, which is itself beginning to gain a faint reddish hue. The small tendrils seem to have grown even further. They now stood each a foot or so tall, and had begun to wrap around the central purple mass in a spiral fashion. Neat.

You decide it's time to have some fun with the minions. You send out a signal, recalling them back to your side. It is only a matter of moments before they respond. You leer down at them, appreciating the size difference between yourself and the two of them.

It is time for something different. you tell them, mischief in your voice.

I want you to attack me. I wish to see how you've grown. I also want you both to be better combatants. Whatever fight lies ahead of us is not one that shall be easy. We must all be prepared, and death could take any one of us at any moment. So, approach, and show me what you've learned.

The plated minion approaches first. As he takes a ready stance, the ringed plates surrounding his body close up, sealing away most of his softer flesh and protecting him. You wait to see how he'll attack, but he hesitates. Trying to pick a point of attack.

In the end, he simply charges into your form. He hits you with some force, but the second he does so, it is all over. Your mass cascades around him, enveloping him completely. You bind his limbs together and slowly push him out of your form again. If not for the overwhelming size difference, that could have been more fun, however, the difference was simply too great for it to resemble a challenge.

Then he allows the spiked minion to approach. Your hopes are higher for this one, as it is the smarter of the two. Even if it is smaller.

Immediately it's approach is different. It begins climbing the walls with incredible speed. It skitters about the ceiling and blends well with the darkness in the cave. Still, you are easily able to track it's movements. You ready yourself for a pounce, but suddenly one of the spikes in his shoulder ejects itself from it's socket. You feel it pierce you, before your body shifts around it.

There's more to this though. The spike seems to be seeping some sort of fluid into your body. It irritates your mass. In the moment that you are focused on that, another two spikes shoot into you. The first one pierces you bodily, but the second passes through you, sticking into the stone below as your form shifts to avoid it. You spit out the two spikes, and feel your water vascular system engaging the toxin to remove it from your body.

Having had enough, you swell up to the ceiling, and envelop the spider, binding it in a similar fashion to the way you'd bound your plated minion.

You shake your head, or what passes for one, and said "Not good enough. Again. Together this time."

They look at each other for a moment. Something passes between their gazes, and you feel your curiosity piqued.
>>
>>2665471
Sudenly, they surge towards each other. Forming into a much greater mass. Their body mostly plated, with the four legs of the spider protruding from the new form's back. You toss them the poison tipped spikes that you'd left discarded at your feet, and watch as they're quickly reabsorbed by the form. You realize that they're nearly the same size as you when they're together like this. You're still margainally bigger, but not by as much of a gap as you'd thought.

Still, your total intellect is beyond what they can do.

You allow them to come at you, and they charge you immediately, just like the plated minion had done. However, instead of impacting you directly, they veer off to the right at the last minute, raking a claw against your side as they do so.

"Better," you say approvingly. They repeat the same charge pattern several times, and after the fourth pass you start to wonder if they can do anything else. On their fifth pass, you launch a counter, tripping them up as they pass and flicking out your clawed tendrils to wrap around their legs and torso. As you level the claws at their vulnerable spots, you begin growing spikes from your tendrils, which poke painfully into their bodies. You begin applying some of the crushing force your snakelike muscular system allows for, and it quickly becomes apparent to the pair of them that you were only toying with them.

That form shows promise, but you need to learn more about each other to make better use of it. you say, leaving them to think on the fight. As you do so, you retreat begin thinking once more of your third minion. You know that she lives in an apartment complex near the bay, and that it's relatively spacious, but you're unsure how you could make use of that. Perhaps you could knock a few walls down and have the neighbors over for dinner. It would be nice to have a foothold in the city, some place safe to return to when hunting in the streets.

You've entertained yourself for a bit, and your spawn realize better their weaknesses. What shall you do now?

You send your spiked minion out to the bay, to let you know when the evening falls so you can once again stalk the city. You spend the mean time tossing crabs idly into the fleshy lump forming in your lair. By the time night rolls around, it has grown a couple of inches. When you and your minions finally move out, you can feel your hunger mounting. The human body from before was hardly more than a snack. It's time you get a nice proper meal once again. You squeeze through the crack in the wall, coming to find the old tunnel you'd fought the strange cybernetic hunter in. You peak into the water where you'd defeated him, and unsurprisingly find the body is no longer there.

You ignore that fact, heading into the tunnels to search for a way up into the city. You travel along the main tunnel system, navigating the familiar canals as you try to decide which part of the city you'll enter into. You are deliberating between sophie's apartment in the bay, the coroner's alley, or just picking a distant grate to explore, when you notice a thin silver trickle navigating the ceiling. You might not have noticed it at all if not for the fact that it was moving just barely visibly. You move in close, and as you draw ever nearer, your advanced eyes can see the thousands of small bodies that made up this silver trickle. There could only be one group who'd be deploying something like this in the canals.

In a moment of fury, you slam a tendril along the length of the trickle near you, but as you look more carefully, you see that it extends in both directions, and you have no idea when exactly you first crossed paths with the nanomachines.

What do you do?

You decide to mess with your pursuers a bit. You've already proven that you can stand up to their fighters, now it's time to show that you shall not take this sort of trangression lightly. You command your minions to begin helping you to clear out the silver trail. Between the three of you, you manage to clear out several tunnels. You're certain they know exactly where you are now, but it doesn't matter. You won't be here for long, and a part of you almost hopes that they'll send another fighter to contend with you. You're bigger, stronger, and deadlier than you were the last time. As are both of your minions for that matter. Part of you is eager to see what else your opponents have in store for you.

You happen to notice as you're clearing out the nanobots that they avoid any places in which the concrete is damp. Usually this means they give drips a wide berth, but in your curiosity, you splash the stream with some water.

To your deligh, you can see an arc of electricity as it runs through the nearby bots, frying them instantly. You telepathically communicate your findings to the others, and begin to make much easier work of this ordeal. Afterwards, you puff up your body, making room for the canal water to fill in the gaps. From then on, it's relatively simple to shoot small jets of water up onto the ceiling and short out several of the bots alltogether.

You find yourself going out of your way to deal with this whole mess, and in the process, you find what you believe to be the source of the nanobots. An offshoot of an offshoot tunnel has lead you to a small grate, which is where the thin silver trickle seems to be emanating from.

You spray the grate with all of your remaining water, spend a few moments deciding what to do from there.

You could

>Investigate the grate. The nanomachines are coming from there, it could be somewhere our enemy doesn't want us to go

>Leave, we've crippled their nanomachine surveilance for now, it'll take time for them to spread out throughout the canals again. Let's leave 'em guessing which way we're going.

You come out of the canal system through the grate, but not before taking as much of the water into your form as you are able. You slosh slightly as you find at what looks to be a drain, just outside of a fenced in area. The machine, which you'd hosed down moments before, was an electrically hazardous mess. More urgently than that however, are the men wielding canister shooting guns waiting topside for your approach. Your guess was correct, those nanomachines were indeed watching your progress. It only makes sense that these men would have been able to prepare for your coming. Even with the additional help of the water spray, it still took you and your minions some time to disable so much of their nano web. The must have seen you coming straight for their base and known to defend themselves. It also dawns on you, that any illusions to your rough intelligence would surely be shattered now, as you'd been able to identify the threat of the nanomachines, and deal with them in an efficient way that something operating on base animal intellect would have been unable to accomplish.

Still, they probably had an idea anyway.

One of the men takes his canister gun, and the two others that are with him weilding similar weaponry ready theirs as well. To your surprise, your plated minion separates from your form, stretching his body into a concave crescent, and bouncing the cannisters back toward the men. In that same moment, a poison tipped spike pierces the leg of one of the three soldiers, and you hear him wailing in agony. Not to be outdone, you swing two clawed tendrils out towards the remaining soldiers, and lop their heads off in one simple motion. As their heads hit the ground, the screaming man's cries are cut short by a gurgling choking noise as the poison finishes working its way through his body. He goes still, but not limp, as his body is contorted as if rigor mortis had already set in.

You take the badies into your own form. In the distance, you can hear additional alarms sounding. The building in front of you appears to be a hangar, or at least the shape seems right. It's massive doors are shut, and in large font the characters NRF-2 are painted. There appear to be other hangars like this one on the grounds, as well as several ominous looking towers that line the walls.

What do you do?

>We got a few kills, let's get out of here before they bring out the big guns

>Only three guys? They clearly hadn't finished getting ready for us. Let's sew a little mayhem before we go

>Let's go for maximum damage while we're here. They know we know where their base is now, it won't be so easy to get in here next time.

You and your minions begin to fan out around the compound, looking for something fun to break, or anything that might be a quick job You see twelve of those hangar like buildings of various shapes and sizes scattered around a few central buildings. One of the central buildings seemed to be a large tower with armed guards overlooking it. Another seemed to be a communications array, that sat in the shadow of the guard tower. You could hear excitement in the distance, on the far eastern side of compound. Lots of shouting as chaos began to give way to order. You were tempted by the building in the shadow of the great tower, but the armed guards atop it would give away your position immediately. As far as you knew, your exact position must have been lost when the first three weaklings had failed to slow your advance. You're mulling over ways to escape the guardsmens notice, when a spike blossoms from the chest of one of the guards. There was another guard present, who quickly joined his friend on the ground with a spike protruding from it's chest.

You note that these two do not die screaming as the poison racks their body, and instead simple crumple to the ground dead. You eye your spiked minion, who has taken up perch atop one of the hangars and was missing his two fore spikes. You recalled how the minions had been much closer to his earlier victim, and wonder why he'd chosen to let the poison do the work before.

You decide it isn't your place to judge, and happily use the opportunity your spiked minion had provided you, and advance on the communications building while the soldiery were still confused. In the meanwhile, you instruct your two minions to scale the tower silently, and retrieve the two bodies the spiked minion had dropped.

You seep between the cracks in the doors, flowing into the protected interior of the building.

You find the hall surprisingly empty. You pass an unoccupied guard post and notice it empty. You wonder if perhaps the guards here were the ones who'd been sent to intercept you. That could mean this was the building that was in charge of monitoring the surveillance in the sewers.

Emboldened, you rush through lowlit halls. You send offshoots of your main body into the rooms as you pass them, probing the various rooms for anything of interest, but not slowing your movement through the halls.

Then you find it. Or rather, them.

In the center of the building, third floor, sat the large computer relay system, which was being manned by three men. You heard them before they saw you. From the other side of a door you could hear them chattering away to themselves.

"What are we going to do?" One feminine voice asks in a panic. "How were we supposed to know it'd FOLLOW the damned bots back to us? It wasn't supposed to be cogent!"
>>
>>2670583

"Quiet." An authoritative male voice said. "There's no point in panicking. The suppression squad is being roused, and I'm sure we'll hear back from Tom, Phil and Gordo any minute now."

"You saw the feed, that thing sprayed the botvalve like two minutes ago."

"We just have to wait it out," A third, somewhat carefree sounding voice said. "The martial types are on it, it's not really our problem anymore."

"Not our problem?" The other two voices say in simultaneous incredulity. "It'll damn well be our problem if that thing gets in here."

Funny they should mention that, you think having recalled most of your mass to your position outside the door. There was a ventilation shaft above you, and you pressed some of your mass into the shaft, and crawled through it, building it up near the central room's intake fans. You continued your stream of mass forward as well, until you'd reached the room beyond, where you pressed yourself out, covering another door with your form. Now, having three points of entry into the room, you decide to make your move.

"I'm just saying, if it gets in here, there's not much we can do anyway, so why worry?" The lackadaisical computer tech said, just as one of the room's two doors burst open. As the first set of doors burst open, you push a tendril through the intake fan, gumming it up and seeping into the room.

The woman shrieks, and immediately begins sprinting out of the far doors, only to be immediately tripped and seized by the thin pooling of mass you'd had there.

To call it a fight is not truly being honest. Hell, to even describe it as a struggle would be generous. In mere seconds you had the three of them bound together in your grasp. The gruff sounded man had immediately passed out, so you hold his body in front of the other two like a pupeteer. You send your tendrils into his ear, pressing into the man's skull into you are connected with his brain. From there you use the man to form the words you've been unable to form with your current body thus far.

"None shall save you. I seek knowledge."

"It's uhh... not supposed to be able to do that, is it?" The previously laid back man asks his terrorstruck coworker.

You use your current link to the man to scan his memories, and find that the more laidback of the three of them was actually the ranking commander. A clearance class 3.5 technician, with access to mid to high clearance intel. Using his former subordinate's voice and body you say.

"Alexander Erving. Tell me what you know of me."

He was, surprisingly able to maintain his composure, and said "Yeah sure, I'll help you out. Just let her go alright?" He said gesturing to the girl.

How do you respond?

>Very well. She may go.

>She may go, after you've given some information of value

>Say nothing, and wait for him to continue

>Demand he continue, making no promises to the girl's safety

>Just infest the dude. Sure, it'll take a few minutes, but that time is worth it if I can be sure of the information I'm about to get.

>Kill him and take his brain, maybe I can find a way to probe it later once I'm somewher safe

>Kill the man, we will not fall for his tricks.
>Ask the woman to tell us what she knows, and ask her why we are being hunted in the first place.
>Kidnap her and use her as a hostage in case anyone decides to shoot you with a gun. (Basically just hold her in between your form)

The goal is to get out of here safely with her, and then infest her later on or something.
>>
>>2670593

>I seek only knowledge, knowledge from both of you. I promise you will go peacefully once I have gained that knowledge.

(by go peacefully, I do mean kill them)
>>
Will let you guys think it out. There will be a part 2 to the crit success in the next post, but for now I need some sleep. Work's got me burning the candle at both ends right now. I should wake up earlier enough to get a post or two in tonight though.
>>
>>2670593
If we let her go, can we drag the acting commander with us back to our lair? Or at least to a more secluded place where we can do our work, maybe infesting him?
>>
>>2670697
You'd have to Either widen one of the fissures in the ocean floor entrance to your lair, or widen the crack between the underground lake and the aqueducts. Right now, the lair is ooze entrance only.
>>
>>2670701
Well, I suppose we could always take him somewhere else for interrogation. Just as long as we don't get interrupted.
We might have to work on creating a new, larger entrance somewhere else at some point. Is that a thing we're capable of doing? Can we dig with any efficiency at all?
>>
>>2670735
Yeah we could manage that if we wanted to. Would take a little time but it's doable.

If that's a thing you guys wanna work on, it can be arranged.

"Very well. She may go." You say, slowly unwrapping your tendril from around her. Allowing her to exit the room. As you do so, you tell your minions telepathically that they should keep their eyes on the building's exits, as a terror struck human should be fleeing from them within the next few moments.

"Now then," Your puppet's raspy voice calls out. "Tell me what you know."

"It would be a lot easier to just show you. Could you just let me get over to that computer there?" He said, nodding his head at the computer in the center of the room. You allow him freedom of movement, but your form is still encircled around him, giving him no place to flee.

You watch him carefully as he starts tapping away at the computer. Within moments, he has a list pulled up.

"Here ya go, have a look for yourself."

The list on screen was as follows.

All of the information regarding 013 seemed to be absent, but you saw that there were clickable dropdown menues for each of the subjects.

"Lemme save you the trouble. You are subject 012. One of our more promising leads, until... well, I don't need to tell you how the escape happened huh?" He said with a chuckle.

"No. You really do." Your puppet responded menacingly. He quirked an eyebrow at that.

"What? I just figured... Oh, well, okay then. Well, I guess it all started when-"

"First. Copy these files."

"O-Oh right, of course of course." He said nervously, quickly pulling a drive from one of the desks nearby and making copies of these files for your later perusal.

As he was about to get into the escape again, you could hear alarms going off. Your plated minion informs you

They are advancing on this section of the base. Get out quickly before they reach these buildings.
>>
>>2673948

You decide to take your new human plaything with you. You can interrogate him at your leisure later. You quickly ripple through the halls, finding your spiked minion waiting for you at the exit. No sign of the girl. She must have hidden herself somewhere in the building. No matter.

As you commanded your plated minion to join you, you feel a slight tingle.

Somewhere nearby, there is a part of you. You can sense it. It seems to be coming from one of the hangars to your southeast. The troops are mobile, you can hear engines running and helicopters have begun to take flight.

What do you do?

>Into the sewers, we can come back later

>Check out that hangar, this is too curious to pass up.

>Hide somewhere, and ambush some soldiers when they show up. Let's teach them to fear us.

>Hide in the tower, the confined space is perfect ambush territory

Lemme get 2 rolls

1st for bypassing the forward troops
2nd for general mayhem.

DC55 for the first roll, there's no way to fail the second roll, I'm just gonna use it as a gauge to figure out exactly how destructive you are.

85, 94. Success and lots of mayhem. Nice. Write up inc.

One quick roll to see how many soldiers make up the forward squad.
>>
>>2675077
Can't wait to tear through them. All that delicious mass, all that delicious grey matter.
>>
As you begin moving towards the piece of yourself that you can feel, you encounter some small resistance along the way. A few hangars over, you can hear men screaming in anguish, a sound that reverberates throughout the base. Your spiked minion must be dealing with a few goons of his own accord. You begin to surge through the street, dispatching a few grunts yourself when a cannister is launched into your frame as you turn a corner. You put up a thin wall of flesh to protect the rest of your form, and you find it's good that you've done so.

Your body being what it is, lacks a centralized brain. Your neural mass being spread throughout your entire body. As you feel the canister explode against the small wall of flesh you'd used to block it, you can feel that portion of your body go numb. You no longer have any tactile sensation from it, nor does it respond to your commands. Moreover, it feels like your intelligence has dropped, if only slightly. In your fury at the attack against your person, you send a tendril down the man's throat. As you reach his stomach, black spikes erupt from your tendril and make his esophagus and stomach a pincusion. Without retracting the spikes, you pull your tendril free, pulling with it the man's upper digestive tract. A scream of horror alerts you to his comerade, who had been fixing you in his rifle sights just as you put on this gruesome display. You rushed toward him, and as you did so his rifle went off. You were expecting it though, and saw as a gaping orange hole formed in a hangar down the way. The size of the hole was greatly disproportinate to the gun that it had come from, and you made a mental note to be wary of these men's weaponry. You passed this information along to your comerades, even as you disembowled this new opponent with a claw.

You began surging towards the hangar that was your goal, commanding your plated minion to gather up all of the bodies you'd colletively acquired thusfar and escape into the water drainage system with them. You likewise command the spiked minion to finish up his current spree, and keep an eye on things from someplace secluded while you investigate the hangar that the rifle toting soldier had so graciously opened up for you. As you advance on the building, three more men step out to block your path. Two men flanking the central man are both equiped with automatic rifles of some sort, while the central man is bandying about a flamethrower. Before you can react, bullets rip into your form. As they do, minor explosions take place inside of your body, but you manage to keep the worst of the damage at your extremities. Bits and pieces of your form splattered on the ground outside.

The soldiers immediately move to chase you, carelessly passing by the segmented fleshy lumps left in the wake of their devastating attack.

>cont
>>
>>2675259
As they pass the lumps by, you hear sudden screaming. You can sense the remnants of your body clinging to and traveling up two of the soldeier's bodies. As you peak your main form around, you can see the flame thrower man trying to charcoal the rest of flesh on the ground, regardless of the fatal damage he was doing to his comerades.

His look of fear is short lived, as before he can do any real damage, your plated minion comes barreling into his back. The sudden impact ruptures the tank he's equipped with, creating a massive explosion.

For a brief moment you worry for the safety of your plated minion, but he stands firm among the flames, with nothing but some black smudges on his boney plating to show for his trouble.

As you continue forward, finally entering into the hangar, you find yourself surrounded by row after row of strange metal storage tanks. You can sense the source of familiarity somewhere near you. Somewhere close, but, somewhere below you. You see no visible way to go down, so you start investigating the room. You turn one of the valves on one of the tanks, and no sooner than you do does a familiar silver stream begin issuing forth.

You leap back, thankful that you'd filled your body with some water earlier, immediately spray the stream, which sends an electrical shock up into the container in which they'd been stored. Not only that, you see electricity arcing to some of the other tubes nearby. This hangar seems to be some sort of storage room for the nanomachines they've been sending after you.

What do you do?

>Search for some sort of hidden mechanism that may allow you to gain access to the lower levels

>Fuck finesse, let's just bore our way through the floor and see what we find.

>Spend a few minutes to short out the rest of these nanomachines.

>Question science guy, he's still contained in your form. Wait shit, have we been letting him breathe? In all the excitement it was easy to lose track of him.

>Other (write in)

If we get no new suggestions in the next 15 minutes I'll just go with this one. I noticed we're on page 4 now, so I think after the next post I'll make a new thread. As was the case last time, if you have any questions feel free to continue using this thread. I'll answer anything I can without giving away spoilers.

Question: Is it even remotely possible to switch the brains of two creatures?
>>
>>2675577
In theory, yes. In practice, it'd be a difficult thing to do. Why, what did you have in mind?
>>
>>2675591
We could always put Sophia in someone else's body or even put a minion in a human body in order to get the drop on people or you know, have a double agent.

Honestly it would be better to practice this on random people so we don't end up with braindead allies. I think you could pull a couple of tricky shenanigans with it though.
>>
>>2675610
If that's a thing that you guys wanna do later, feel free to bring it up again then. If you happen to catch some live specimens and want to experiment on them, you can do so in whatever way you want.
>>
>>2675299
Bore through the floor, the faster we get wherever we're going the faster we can get the fuck out of here. Once we escape we should really lay low for awhile, since we're currently in the middle of getting caught.

(Tripfagging because I'm a fag. Deal w/it nerds.)

Rolled 19, 49 = 68 (2d100)

A set of rolls that surely means nothing.

Right. Regardless of what we do we should probably at least see
if he's breathing.

sorry, voting is already over. I've got the next write up finished, but I'm gonna post it in it's own thread. Working on a few other things before then so I can look halfway organized if anyone else wants to join.
