>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty (thirty one) year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls were once used to determine success or failure. But, due to the rather unpredictable nature of the dice essentially making it irrelevant whether or not you made smart decisions, were fighting outside your weight class, etc, we're going to do away with those, at least for the time being.

This quest sometimes uses music, and this website is not good with embed videos from youtube. So, it may be that you want to open youtube links in a new tab so they start at the right part.

I hope everyone has fun.

It's that time of the year again...
>>
As much as this plan of Roshi's may make you nervous, you can't see any better alternative for dealing with Cell. If you don't act soon, the beast will self-destruct, and, if his word is to be believed, take the entire planet with him. Attempting to destroy him will just cause the explosion to occur prematurely, so sealing him away seems to be the only safe bet.

Fighting your doubts, you step forward, placing your hands upon the grotesque, swelled-up form of the monster that has caused you and your world so much grief. Closing your eyes, you focus beyond your own energy, and delve into the flow within Cell's body. It still disturbs and confuses you how many different life-forces are swimming around in there, but while you're well aware of the individual pieces, they form one whole that you can interact with and suppress. As Shen takes his place on the other side of the monster, you feel him beginning to do his own work, aiding you in your efforts to keep Cell's energy in check.

Meanwhile, Roshi retrieves a small vial, with familiar symbols written on the side. Those symbols will act as a seal, and ensure that anything locked within the vial will never be able to escape. Cell will perish there, alone. It's almost pitiable, but considering he tried to condemn you to a similar fate, you don't have much sympathy.

"Are you ready?!" Master Roshi calls, struggling to make his voice heard over the howling wind that seems to grow stronger with each second as Cell nears detonation.

"Hurry and do it!" Shen fires back, his harsh tone doing a poor job of disguising his fear.

Nodding with determination, Roshi steps forward, raising his hands, and stretching his palms toward Cell.

"Oh, no you don't!" Cell declares, opening his mouth wide.

"MAFUBA!" Roshi roars, sending a swirling green light from his palms right at Cell.

Cell lets out a roar of his own, along with a beam of light that barely has time to exit his gullet before he's caught in Master Roshi's attack. But, that's enough, and Roshi takes the full brunt of Cell's attack, losing focus on his own technique as the blast strikes his chest, throwing him off of his feet and onto the ground.

"No, dammit!" Shen curses, leaping away from Cell as fast as he can and taking to the air.

"Where does he think he's going?!" Piccolo demands as Shen continues to move further and further from Cell.

Tenshinhan scowls, watching his master's retreating form. "He's trying to save himself."

"What do we do now?!" Chi-Chi questions, turning the conversation back to the most important matter.

Nobody offers an answer until Lapis steps forward, his expression determined as he slowly approaches Cell.

"Step aside," he instructs you.

>A. Do as he says

Kai-Kai to Other World, then to King Kai, if that's possible; if not, drag Cell all the fuckway down Snake Way as fast as we can go (desu it should only take a few minutes to fly down to the planet for us anyway)

"Do you have a plan?" you question the dark-haired man, whose steely blue eyes never leave Cell, and whose movement does not stop, even as he answers your question.

"Of course I do," is his response, his tone irritated and somewhat offended. "Now step aside."

After a moment of silent contemplation, you acquiesce to his instructions, leaping back a good distance and watching, hoping and praying that whatever he intends to do will pay off.

Cell's bulbous eyes take in the approaching warrior, and his disgusting mouth opens to let out uncontrollable, hideous laughter. Whether Cell's been driven insane by today's events (his sanity was questionable to begin with), or if he just finds the idea of someone like Lapis single-handedly stopping him unbelievably funny, you cannot say, but you can certainly hope your fellow warrior is able to do something that proves the monster wrong.

"You idiot!" he addresses Lapis once his laughter is under control. "You can't stop me! None of you can! Just accept that you've lost, roll over, and die!"

Lapis scowls at the monster, stretches out his arms at either side, and creates a great, green light that surrounds both he and Cell in a dome. It takes you but a moment to realize what he intends, and the others figure it out just as quickly.

"Is he nuts?!" Yamcha questions. "He's trapped in there with Cell, he'll be killed for sure!"

Piccolo, clearly taken aback, slowly changes his composure, a solemn, yet prideful look on his face as he regards his pupil.

"Lapis!" Lazuli calls out to her brother in horror.

Now, Lapis finally looks away from Cell, glancing over his shoulder at his sister, that usual confident smirk coming to his face as he speaks to his twin.

"Don't sound so sad," he tells her. "I won't be gone for long."

Maybe not, but you can imagine that seeing her brother incinerated in front of her is not something that sounds appealing to Lazuli.

"Here!" Piccolo shouts, extending a hand toward Lapis.

A ball of light floats from his palm, touching the barrier, which seems to to pulse for a moment as new power is added to it. Even still, you're not sure this will be enough. If the blast is powerful enough to wipe out the planet and everyone on it, the energy of Lapis and Piccolo may not be able to stop it.

Cell certainly isn't convinced, as he resumes his nauseating laughter.

"You really think that little thing will stop me?" he wheezes. "You're even more foolish than I'd thought!"

Lapis looks back to Cell, eyes narrowing. "Let's find out."

>Continued
>>
>>2624165
A glow surrounds Cell, who swells up further, like a balloon just the tiniest bit of air away from bursting. And that's exactly what he does, letting out a final yell as light erupts from his body, consuming both he and Lapis. The barrier stops the explosion for a moment, but quickly cracks under the incredible surge of power within, and shatters completely as the sacrificial warrior's life-force vanishes from your senses.

"Everyone, brace yourselves!" Roshi warns, crossing his arms in front of his body's vital areas and preparing to weather the storm.

One by one, everyone does the same, aside from Kori and Konattsu, who stand side-by-side, one a Super Saiyan, the other surrounded by the glow of the Kuma-Ken.. Their arms are outstretched, and a wall of light protects them, as well as a terrified Mr. Satan and Devilman, from the blast.

You can't see if it holds, though, as the blast quickly reaches you, and you're cast away by the powerful burst of energy, crying out in pain as your flesh burns. You slam into the ground as the blast begins to die down, and when it finally comes to an end, you find that, while you've been badly wounded, you're still alive, and there's still a planet beneath you.

Cringing in pain, you push yourself to your feet and look around. Cell's blast seems to have leveled everything for miles, and the bodies of your friends and family litter the barren landscape, though you can sense that they're still alive.

>A. Go to the epicenter of the blast and see if anything's left

>B. Go see if you can locate the Senzu Beans

>C. Go check on everybody and make sure they're alive

>D. Don't do anything yet. Stand there, catch your breath. It's over.

As the others begin to pick themselves up, you rush to the epicenter of the blast, wanting to see the damage for yourself, and to find out if there's anything left of Lapis or Cell. A single leap brings you to the edge of a massive, deep crater, and you become absolutely certain that the blast would have destroyed the entire planet had Lapis not sacrificed himself to hinder it. Despite the arrogant, oftentimes overzealous attitude the young man often displays, he really stepped up here, and saved the planet from certain destruction. Piccolo must be proud.

Goku materializes at your side, staring down into the crater, and clearly reaching the same conclusions that you did. He looks angry, though you aren't entirely sure if it's because of what happened to Lapis, or one of many other Goku things.

"That was very brave," Goku remarks to no one.

"He actually did it," Tenshinhan observes, sounding quite surprised as he picks himself back up. "I didn't think he had a prayer."

"Yeah, he really saved the day," Yamcha states as he places his hand on the shoulder of Lazuli, who is fighting back tears. "Now all we have to do is wish him back with the Dragonballs."

You can't see anything left of either Lapis or Cell, but a sudden vibration in the air quickly draws your attention, and you look into the sky to see a massive, red ball of energy streaking toward you.

You can't sense the energy of whoever fired this blast, and everything that's just happened has caused you to revert to your normal state. Nevertheless, you hold out your hand and fire an energy wave to intercept the projectile, watching as the visible manifestation of your ki pushes against the blood-red orb, slowing the attack, but not stopping it.The attack draws closer, despite your best efforts to keep it away.

At your side, Goku cups his hands, a bright blue orb materializing between his palms as he gathers up energy. You can sense that he's far from full strength, as are you, but he's as determined to fight as ever.

Good old Goku.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!" your friend cries, thrusting his hands skyward and unleashing the Kamehameha Wave.

The blue beam joins your own in the effort to push back the attack, and actually manages to bring it screeching to a halt. While the red ball is no longer getting closer, you're still failing to push it back, and you frankly don't know if you and Goku can keep this up.

Goku lets out a yell, and you feel his energy surge as he transforms into a Super Saiyan, giving the needed boost to begin pushing the red ball back into the sky. It disappears high above, but you're given no sign of whoever launched it.

Given that you can't sense the energy of your attacker, you have a good guess as to the nature of your foe. Though, whether they're mechanical or not, you can't even see them to guess.

Goku drops out of his Super Saiyan form, his breathing heavy from this new exertion. He doesn't lower his guard, though, searching for whoever fired the blast.

"KIENZAN!" you hear Chi-Chi shout, and turn to see a golden disk of energy shoot right by you, stopped by an old, long-haired man with a large, dark hat bearing the insignia of the Red Ribbon Army.

He holds the disk harmlessly in his hand, and it quickly grows smaller, and smaller before vanishing completely. Smirking deviously, he fires two thin beams of light from his eyes, aiming right at the dark-haired woman, who leaps out of the way, only to be struck in the back by a massive, blue-skinned creature with spiky orange hair. As Chi-Chi plummets toward the ground, the monstrous attacker extends a hand toward her, firing off a familiar red ball of energy.

"Mom!" Konattsu shouts fearfully, shooting into the sky and placing herself in the blast's path.

A green aura surrounds the girl, and she reaches out, the energy ball slamming into her palms and causing her to hiss in pain as she's quickly pushed back.

Meanwhile, Chi-Chi recovers and leaps into the sky, joining her daughter in pushing back against the blast, trying to force it back toward its creator. But, with the blast blocking their view, they can't see that the android has already moved, and is maneuvering to attack them while they're distracted.

"No you don't!" Yamcha howls, his voice sounding genuinely wolf-like as he leaps into the air, enveloped in a black aura and sporting a colossal increase in power.

Thirteen turns and fires another blast down at your friend, but Yamcha howls and strikes it with one fist, throwing it right back at the shocked Android, who barely scurries out of the way.

Right in front of you, Doctor Gero frowns.

"How are you even still alive?!" you demand of the old man.

Gero smirks at this. "A mind such as mine can live beyond the destruction of a physical body, Tofoo. Unfortunately for you, your intellect is insufficient for such a form of immortality, and so I will finally have my revenge."

"You really think you're strong enough to beat us?" Goku demands, dropping into his usual attack stance.

Gero does not answer, nor does he change that relaxed stance he's in. He exudes total confidence, along with smug superiority, the kind you've come to associate with him, along with others such as Freeza. It always manages to irritate you. But, if Gero's as strong as he was before, you should be able to deal with him, even if you're a little low on energy. After your training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, you're mountains above where you were the last time you battled the old man.

"Kuma-Ken!" you shout, feeling your power flare up as a green aura surrounds you.

You can see something flash in Gero's eyes, but he doesn't seem the least bit concerned. You'll fix that. Extending your right arm above your head, you create a blade of pure energy, and swing downward at the mad doctor, who calmly reaches up and catches it in the palm of his hand.

"I thought you'd have learned your lesson about using this technique against me," he comments, holding his free hand toward your chest and firing off an energy attack.

You're thrown back, your energy sword dissipating as the attack detonates on your stomach.

"Tofoo!" Goku shouts, turning to you in worry.

That only leaves him open, and Gero takes full advantage, delivering a chop to the back of your friend's neck. Goku falls to his knees and slumps forward, unconscious. Gero looks at you as you come to a stop, that same smirk still on his face. Then, he vanishes into thin air.

Tensing up, you frantically search for any sign of the mad doctor, only locating him by the sound of his voice as he grunts in surprise. You turn toward the sound, and find yourself looking at your son, who stands between you and the doctor, holding Gero by the wrist.

"Need a hand?" Trunks asks, glancing over his shoulder as he sends Gero sliding back with a kick to the chest.

"That sounds great," you tell him.

"I agree," Gero declares, seeming mostly unfazed by that kick from Trunks. "Eliminating father and son together will be most enjoyable."

Trunks growls, green aura flaring around him as he readies for the fight.

"I don't suppose you have any senzu beans?" you ask your son.

"Sorry," he replies. "We'll have to make due without them."

Nodding in understanding, you spring into action alongside your son, the two of you charging forward to engage Doctor Gero, who once again vanishes from sight, only to reappear beside Trunks and bring his knee into your son's gut. As Trunks hunches over in pain, you leap over him, bringing your foot into Gero's face, pushing him back and knocking him off-balance. The old man hand-springs back, firing off his eye beams, which are intercepted by a blast from Trunks. When the resulting smoke clears, Gero is once again gone.

"You won't beat us like this!" Trunks declares. "With the two of us working together, you'll never have a chance for a finishing blow if you keep using these hit-and-run tactics!"

"Your analysis is incorrect," another voice declares.

A rotund, clown-like machine that you've previously sent to the scrap-heap appears before you and your son.

"Your energy will deplete long before ours," Nineteen asserts. "And Number Thirteen's energy is limitless."

"Yes," Gero agrees, appearing behind the two of you. "Your defeat is already sealed. Thirteen and the others will eliminate your friends, or at least keep them occupied. Nineteen and I will deal with the two of you."

"You really think it's going to be that easy?" Trunks asks. "Tired or not, injured or not, we aren't going to stop until you're nothing but scrap metal."

"Irrelevant," Nineteen declares.

"Even if you can defeat us, you will not do so in time," Gero adds.

You aren't entirely sure what he means, but you don't care to find out. You want to end this battle as quickly as possible, and you possess greater power than your current technique allows for. You're tired, and the Kami-Ken can take a lot out of you. But, as you are now, you should have enough energy to use it, even if it's only for a brief amount of time.

The green aura surrounding your body disappears, and in its place comes one of glorious blue. While your own energy is no longer detectable, even to you, you certainly feel invigorated. Stronger, faster, you have once again tapped in to the power of a god.

Now, it's time to show these Red Ribbon rejects some divine wrath.

Moving faster than you ever could have with the Kuma-Ken, you maneuver yourself behind Nineteen, driving your elbow into his back. A kick to the back of his right leg causes him to buckle, leaving him open further as you spin and kick him in the back of the head, sending him sliding face-first through the dirt.

Trunks and Gero, meanwhile, have taken to the air, with the old doctor attempting to continue his hit-and-run tactic. You're pleased to see, however, that Trunks is quickly adapting, predicting and responding to Gero's movements more efficiently with each strike. It seems as though the old man can't lay a hand on Trunks, and you can't help but feel proud.

That prideful observation is cut short as Nineteen stands up, holds out a hand toward you, and unleashes a colossal ray of yellow light in your direction.

Tofoo, Cell, Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, Lapis, Tien, Yamcha, Kori, and Roshi.
We can pair up the weaker fighters with our stronger guys so they don't get blown out immediately like in canon.
Tofoo and Cell are probably gonna be pulling Jiren duty if Goku gets rung out somehow.

Don't assume the warriors will be totally like they were in canon. The anime (and especially the manga) wasted a lot of fighters before they got a chance to show what they can do. If/when we reach the TOP, I plan to do less of that.

Welcome back, Som. How's the system going for ya now that you've moved away from getting fucked over/Kek blessed by random numbers?
>>
>>2624600
Would Tofoo be able to compete as Kami? If not, then I'd say...

Goku, Kori, Piccolo, Tenshinhan, Chiaotzu, Krillin for sure...

From there I'm not 100% sure. I think Lapis would have to be there if Piccolo is. I'm sure Piccolo would make sure that would happen.

Roshi and Shen would be good to have, since they actually work together really well.

Konattsu is probably going to be much stronger as well, so it would seem silly not to bring her. Same with Trunks, if we're assuming all this is actually happening after the Buu saga.

Which, who knows, we might have Buu at that point.

Chi-Chi has said many times she wants to stop fighting, and I'm not 100% sure Yamcha and Lazuli would keep up their training. and Ox-King probably wont even be an option.

I suppose there's always Baba's fighterz.

Alright, so if we assume everything I said above is legit, and we don't get anymore allies like Buu or red ribbon Vegeta, Nappa or Raditz... Or Tapion... I'd say...

Goku, Kori, Piccolo, Lapis, Tenshinhan, Chiaotzu, Krillin, Konattsu, Roshi and Shen.

If Tofoo could compete then swap out Tofoo and Trunks for Roshi and Shen.

Nineteen's blast strikes the palm of your hand, the massive wave of energy pushing against your own strength as it seeks to overwhelm and consume you. You're surprised by the amount of power behind this attack; Nineteen's strength when you last fought would not have allowed him to produce such an attack. In your weakened state, it actually takes a bit of effort to keep the attack back, but it's still nothing you can't handle.

Focusing your own energy, and manipulating the current of the power opposing you, you're able to deflect the attack, sending it streaking into the sky above, safely away from you and any others on the battlefield.

Nineteen remains where you last saw him, taking a stance suited for close combat, but not advancing on you just yet.

In the air, you can make out the figures of Trunks and Doctor Gero, will your son clearly gaining the upper hand in the skirmish. Gero's attacks seem to be moving further and further from actually landing, while the old man struggles to fend off the blows your son is delivering. You can't see the machine's face, but you can imagine that he looks rather scared right now. The attacks from Trunks are missing by centimeters at this point, and at this rate, you suspect that it won't be long before the boy stops missing at all.

If Nineteen is aware of this, he doesn't show any visible concern. In fact, if anything, he looks rather smug for someone whose face you've been pounding into the dirt. Maybe he's had a few screws knocked loose and doesn't understand the situation.

Surges of energy alert you that your friends are locked in combat as well, though judging from their spread out locations, you're beginning to worry that Thirteen isn't the only foe they're dealing with. Turning your head for a moment, your fears are confirmed as you see four machines viciously fighting your friends.

Android Sixteen faces Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and Lazuli, while Thirteen contends with Chi-Chi, Yamcha, Chaozu, and Ox King. Roshi is standing guard over Goku, while Kori and Konattsu are fighting side-by-side against a newly resurrected Fourteen and Fifteen.

If Nineteen and Twenty are any indication, these machines are far more powerful than their previous incarnations, and with everyone wounded from Cell's blast, you don't like this one bit.

As you turn your head back to the battle, you're greeted by the sight of Nineteen's grinning face. The Android tackles you to the ground, seizing hold of your shoulders as you slide through the dirt. You bring your right knee to your chest, and kick at the fat clown's stomach, sending him soaring.

As he ascends, thin red beams shoot from his eyes.

If possible, Tofoo should attempt finishing the battle as quickly as humanly possibly by concentrating as much energy into a decisive melee strike at the last moment in hopes of punching through the clown and not getting his energy absorbed.

Doing a back-flip to get on your feet, you spring into the air in pursuit of your portly opponent, chasing him high above the arena and dodging as he shoots more and more beams down at you. You're pretty sure he could have stopped his ascent by now, but for whatever reason, he seems to be content with letting the force of your kick carry him further and further. Even with his continued movement, you soon catch up, and slam your fist into the machine's fat gut.

Nineteen gasps in pain as your fist presses into its synthetic flesh, but recovers quickly enough to attempt a back-handed swipe at your face. You lean back in time to avoid it, being hit only by the current of air his movement creates. In that moment of distraction, Nineteen fires more beams from his eyes, and catches you in your left cheek.

You're fortunate. Your energy output is large enough to keep those piercing beams from cutting right through your face and out the other side. Instead, you're left with two small, stinging burns on your left cheek. As you process the pain, Nineteen's right hand comes around and grabs hold of your left arm.

>A. Attempt to rip his arms off

You've had enough of this clowning around, and if you allow this battle to continue for too much longer, you may run out of energy before you can finish the job. It's time to bring this battle to an end.

First, you pull back with your left arm, moving it away from Nineteen's body. Then, you twist your own body and plant your right foot right in the middle of the Android's fat face, pushing with all of your might and attempting to either rip your arm free of his grasp, or rip his arm from his socket. His arm stretches, and his face scrunches around your footwear, but he does not relinquish his grip, or his arm. But, that's okay, he's given you a target.

Bringing your right arm around, you swiftly create an Energy Blade, and use it to slice through the Android's outstretched arm. Sparks fly from the half still attached to Nineteen's body, and his eyes go wide in what looks like fear as he quickly backs away. You don't let him get far, though, and put a great deal of energy into your next strike, letting out a mighty yell as you once again bring your fist into the massive mime's gut, this time punching right through his stomach.

Without much thinking, you grab the largest thing you can find in there, ignoring the pain of electricity coursing through you as you reach around the machine's insides. Pulling with all of your strength, you wrench a massive piece of machinery from within Nineteen's metallic endoskeleton, crushing it in your fist in front of the terrified machine's eyes.

Nineteen doesn't shut down or fall from the sky, so you decide not to wait and see what effect removing that piece had. Instead, you once again reach inside of the Android, this time opening your fist and unleashing enough energy to fry it from the inside out. Now, Nineteen falls from the sky, bereft of its artificial life well before it strikes the ground.

With your foe vanquished, you take a moment to catch your breath, the exertion of that battle making your already less-than-optimal state even worse. You feel the godly aura surrounding you vanish, and your power drop considerably.

You really wish you could rest right now, but there's still some serious fighting left to do. You don't sense any fading energy signatures, so the others all seem to be fine, but seeing as you've destroyed your opponent, it seems like you should probably go down and help the others with theirs. Taking one more deep breath, you drop down toward the ground, keeping your eyes out for Trunks and Doctor Gero.

That search is over quickly, as you soon spot your boy beating the tar out of the good doctor. Gero's right arm looks mangled, and his left wrist is held tight in the grip of your son's right hand. Unless the old man's just playing possum, you think he's pretty much screwed. Despite only his left arm being restrained, he doesn't attempt anything with his right, which tells you that Trunks probably damaged it badly enough to disable its use. He tries for a kick, but Trunks blocks that with a knee.

Trunks reaches down and grabs Gero's ankle with his free hand, pulls enough to stretch the leg out, and kicks right through it, severing leg from body. Clearly, Trunks needs no assistance.

As for the others, they seem to have a handle on things as well. Kori and Konattsu have Fourteen and Fifteen on the ropes, each of them seeming to have lost far less energy than the rest of you. You observe that Kori's attacks aren't very precise, but vicious and powerful , which forces the machines to remain on the defensive. While the machines struggle to defend, Konattsu is watching closely, looking for openings and then hitting with precise and crippling blows. Unless the Androids make a major tactical change or the girls run out of energy, this battle is as good as over.

Thirteen, meanwhile, is moving incredibly sluggishly, allowing Chi-Chi and Yamcha to batter him with powerful blows while Chaozu hangs back, hands outstretched toward the machine. As best you can tell, Chaozu is using his psychic abilities to slow Thirteen to a crawl, making it incredibly easy for Yamcha and Chi-Chi to strike and avoid counterattack. Ox King stands on the ground below, hands cupped together as he channels energy for a Kamehameha Wave.

Sixteen, meanwhile, is being quickly driven back by the combined assault of Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and Lazuli, giving ground rapidly to their overwhelming attacks. He doesn't look particularly frightened, but you do recall him having a somewhat stoic attitude. It may be that he's less capable of expressing fear than the others.

A glance in Roshi's direction reveals that Goku has regained consciousness. The old man helps him to his feet, and the two watch the fighting without any visible concern. They seem confident that the others have things well within hand, and you can't say you disagree with their assessment.

>C.

We'll only charge for a little bit, last thing we need is to become a sitting duck or be making a huge AF Spirit Bomb that all the Androids can notice.

I think we can get a Tofoo sized Spirit Bomb up to absorb without too much trouble or wasting too much time. Any bigger (like then one to nuke Frieza), and we risk getting focused on when the Androids go "wtf is this growing energy signature?".
>>
>>2636201
>>B. Create a Spirit Bomb to use against the Androids
Trying new stuff on the fly might backfire, specially now that we don't have rolls to back them up.
>>

In all fairness Tofoo has ridiculous energy control. Also, considering that only Dr. Gero is technically evil, I kind of question how effective the Spirit Bomb will be against the other Androids since they're only following their programming.
>>
>>2636229
>>2636233
The fighting appears to be coming to a close, but you know from experience that something can always go wrong. If that happens, you're going to need more energy than this to be of any assistance. With no Senzu Beans in sight, you can think of only one possibility to restore your strength. A technique taught to you by King Kai himself, one that allows you to siphon energy and turn it into a weapon.

The Spirit Bomb.

The energy it gathers makes for a potent weapon, but you have another idea in mind for the gathered energy. Rather than using it to directly strike your foes with an overwhelming power, you intend to take that energy into yourself, restoring some of what you have lost. There's no way of knowing if that will work. After all, aside from your training with King Kai, you've never attempted the technique, and energy replenishment was never a goal during that training. But, if it works, it could make a world of difference, so you decide to give it a shot.

The technique begins with you raising your arms above your head, and facing your palms toward the sky. You close your eyes, letting your senses stretch far beyond yourself, and call upon the planet for energy. Responses begin at once, with plants across the globe relinquishing energy to you. A number of animals do the same, but others refuse. As for people, you don't even try to take energy from those still fighting, but when you feel a sudden surge of energy added to what you're gathering, you open your eyes to see Goku looking up at you with a raised hand.

It's not long before you gather the energy you need, and see a sizable ball floating above your palms. Directing that energy downward and inward, you feel a rush as your powers are restored.

Back at full strength, you have a look around to see if any of the others need your help, but find that Gero has been blown to bits, with Trunks now flying over to you, looking none the worse for wear following his fight. Thirteen is pummeled by Yamcha's Wolf Fang Fist before Chi-Chi slices him in half with a Kienzan, and Ox King destroys the two separated sections with a Kamehameha Wave.

"Father," Trunks addresses you as he comes to stop by your side, his expression and tone conveying the confusion he must be feeling at your sudden re-surge of power.

"Good job taking out Gero," you tell your son, not explaining to him how you managed to restore your energy, mostly due to paranoia that Gero might find a way to cheat death again and have machines spying on you.

It seems a ridiculous stretch, but given the fact that you and your friends have been fighting a group of enemies you'd already destroyed, you don't entirely dismiss the idea that Gero could find a way to return once more. And, honestly, it's not only Gero that you're worried about.

Nineteen and Gero had stated that even if you and Trunks defeated them, you wouldn't do so in time. In time for what, you cannot say for certain, but you have a terrible suspicion as to why they seemed intent on stalling you and the others. Sure, maybe they thought that they and the other machines could defeat you and your friends in your current condition, but you think they were buying time for someone that could threaten you and the others even at your best.

Turning your attention from the battle, and any other distractions, you sense for another familiar energy, and soon discover it, close by, hiding itself.

Cell is still alive.

You can't make out the extent of his current power at the moment, but if he's in his semi-perfect state, he could still be extremely dangerous, and if he manages to absorb someone, he could be even more powerful upon regaining his perfect form.

Fourteen and Fifteen are sliced into pieces and consumed by a mighty energy wave, respectively, and Sixteen is eliminated by a combined blast from Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and Lazuli. The distractions have been dealt with, but it appears to already be too late.

Damn, didnt notice until now that Som's back. I like this style, it is more fair than having brilliant ideas crushed by bad rolls or do something incredibly retarded that works due amazing rolls.

As for questions, what are you going to do about the whole bullshit with the gods? Since the end of Og dragon ball, toriyama has been constantly pumping out more and more gods who supposedly have important roles in keeping the balance of the universe but due they didn't exist before, it makes them look awfully bad at their jobs for their lack of activity to stop evil forces attempting against the planet/universe.

Its been a while but i do remember at least you made the grand kai realize the dangers of cell and actually do shit even if it is just training somebody plus the incident with the tree of might. But what about guys like kaioShin and Beerus? I really hope shin at least is very busy with something important in tofooverse unlike canon where he was being an useless piece of shit until things escalated to apocalyptic levels and beerus kind of would die if shin dies so in theory he should be awakened to do his job in the case things gets so bad that his kaioshin counterpart is at risk of dying and take him down along him as per god rules.

Anyways, i trust in that you will make sense of their actions so they dont look like retards in retrospective

Beerus is napping/unaware/unconcerned with many of the issues going on.

Shin's full focus is on Buu, as he sees Buu as the potential end to all mortal life, and believes the best thing he can do as Supreme Kai is keep that threat contained.

Nice. Here's hoping Shin doesnt do enigmatic guy bullshit when he pinpoints babidi being in earth and might even foreshadow his existence earlier.

Specially considering that lesser gods below him could inform him about all those badasses going beyond impossible and doing the gods's work with one of them even being the resident guardian god of earth. It was just plain stupid how ignorant about everything he was in canon despite how much he hyped the buu incident as being serious shit that required investigation and dedication

Shin has heard of Goku and Tofoo

Is Smug Kai more smug in the Tofooverse or less smug

That remains to be seen

Hey Som, do you read any DB fanfics? I found an interesting one where Cell goes on the side of good after Gohan hit him in the head with enough force to rattle his programming and gain more humane feelings that Dr. Gero suppressed in him. It's pretty hefty, 84 chapters, 700k words. I'm currently 10 chapters in. It also has Vegeta being salty AF.

But anon, pretty much anything after original dragon ball is fanfiction considering it isnt a work of love but rather the magazine demanding more. Even super reeks of shitty fanfiction as the meme image says

Read a chapter and a half.
>some cringey dialogue
>characters not acting like characters
>way too much focus on Vegeta for some reason
>human Z fighters pretty much exist just to chime in and fuck with the Saiyans
Super/10, Tofoo does not approve

>Fanfiction = automatically shit

You're saying this while in basically a Choose Your Adventure fanfiction of Dragon Ball. I hope the irony isn't lost on you.
