Hello all. Life is still busy as hell and work is almost always draining. Today was nice though so I’m going to try and run properly. Currently planing to leave the thread up and continue during the week with smaller updates. We’ll see how far we get.

>Fate Point: 2
>Money: $25
>Equipment: Tier 2 Assault Rifle. Tier 3 Armor. Tier 2 Pistol. Tier 3 Rucksack. Tier 3 Bandoleer. Tier 1 Med-kit. Tier 2 Med-kit. Tier 3 Med-Kit. Tier 1 Toolkit. Tier 2 Knife.

Your name is William. You don’t have a last name as far as you know and most people call you Will anyway. It’s not like you have much use for another name. Currently you are in the middle of raiding a house that’s owned by people who are going to do bad things to an “inauguration.” You still don’t know what that is but Koko and Morrigan both think it’s a bad thing so you’re pretty sure it’s a good idea to shoot them.

The current status of the team is somewhat rough. You’ve been shot in the vest and you know that it will hurt quite a bit in the morning even if you’re fine at the moment. Nem has been shot as well, she’s got at least one broken rib, possibly more and is currently guarding the second floor with Sarah. Morrigan, Cath, Mary and Bellona are with you as you finish tying up your latest prisoner, a brown haired woman who tried to imitate Mary and failed, leaving her cut up enough that Morrigan had you patch her up before you tied her up.

You finish putting a zip tie around her hands and feet, the brown haired girl not struggling too much since you didn’t give her any painkillers. You know from experience that getting stabbed hurts so she shouldn’t be too much trouble.

“You done Will?” Morrigan’s voice is short and clipped, her rifle trained deeper into the house.

“Done.” You stand, readying your own weapon.

“Should we do anything with her?” Bellona looks down at the girl.

Morrigan says…

>Leave her be, we need to sweep and clear.
>We can interrogate her.
>Lets drop her with Sarah and Nem.

Morrigan looks the girl over one more time and then squints back down the hallway, glancing around.

“Lets take her back to Nem and Sarah. I don’t want to leave her here in case there’s somebody else around that might let her go. She’s slippery enough anyway.” She looks to you, then around at the others.

“Will, can you carry her? You got hit earlier.”

You nod, flexing your chest a little bit to make sure you don’t tighten up.

“I’ll carry her.”

The woman looks at you with just a bit of apprehension in her eyes but you ignore it, leaning down to pick her up in what would be called a Fireman’s carry if you knew what a Fireman was. Keeping your rifle in front of you, you manage to get her over your shoulder with only a little trouble and then everybody moves out through the halls. Making decent enough time you make it to the landing.

“Nem, Sarah we’re coming down.” Morrigan calls out.

“Roger, we’re clear here.” Nem calls back, a slight wheeze in her voice.

The squad makes its way down to the landing and you set the prisoner down as carefully as you can. She still grunts but there’s not much you can do about it. Your limited supply of medicine is for people on your side.

“Everyone good?” Morrigan asks, looking around as she takes a second for a quick smoke while everyone checks weapons and ammo.

“We’re all good here.” Nem says, Sarah still focused down the stairs.

“Ready,” says Mary, along with a nod from Cath.

“Good to go,” Bellona says.

You nod.

“Alright.” Morrigan takes a deep breath and then blows at the smoke, dropping her cigarette and grinding it into the carpet. “We’re going to….”

“We’re going to keep being careful while we sweep and clear. Enough of you are already beat up and I don’t want anymore injuries.” Morrigan appears upset but then she’s upset a lot of the time when things aren’t going well. Everyone nods and then you head back up the stairs.

Since you’ve already cleared part of the floor things go relatively well at first. Sweeping rooms and already cleared hallways, you get to the point where there’s blood on the carpet and you know this is where you dropped the lady with the knives. You take it slow from there, Morrigan doing her best but mostly relying on Mary since her blood is up. You keep an eye out, even as Bellona nearly stumbles against you at one point.

The five of you make a decent pace, right up until you’re getting to the last few rooms of the floor. As you turn a corner, you’re suddenly confronted by a man with an LMG leveled at you.

“DOWN!” Morrigan is yelling even as she moves, bullets ripping through the air. You see Morrigan flinch more than you hear her grunt in pain but the splatted of blood shows clearly that she’s been hit. Mary manages to dodge out of the way as well, following Morrigan and leaving you, Cath and Bellona on the other side of the wall.

There’s a pause as everyone is out of the line of sight but the man seems to be mostly professional with his shots, holding fire for a few moments. That is until you hear another person from the same direction and then the shooting starts, bullets chewing into the walls and a few even managing to make it through multiple layers of what seems like rather thick walls.

You glance over at Morrigan, who has a hand pressed to her side but other than that seems relatively ok. As the firing once again stops and there’s the sound of ammo being reloaded or guns move Morrigan raises her hand and…

Morgan gestures for Bell and Cath to open fire on the men. She holds the gesture as well, which as far as you can tell means to fire until they’re sure the men are gone. You duck out of the way just in time as Cath and Bellona turn the corner, Cath ducking down on one knee as Bellona takes the upper position. Then things get loud.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gRTD1lVt44

Cath and Bellona open fire at nearly the same time, the chatter of their LMG’s echoing as they both fire off multiple bursts at close range. Your ears are already ringing from the sustained firing of the enemy, now rings even more as shell casings rain down in the hallway. With the position you’re in you can’t see what happens but when Bell and Cath both stop firing and move forward up the hall you take a look.

One of the men never made it out of the doorway, a solid burst catching him right in the chest and shredding his upper torso. There’s a line of bullet holes across the wall where the other man must have ducked into cover but there are enough holes in the wall that you can see that he’s leaning up against it… and there are holes through him.

Bell and Cath make their way up the hallway and to the door, covering their corners as you and Mary cover them from further back. As they reach the door, Bell gestures Mary forward and she does so, dashing through the doorway with her SMG held up. The room beyond appears to be clear, as Mary comes back out in just a few seconds.

“It’s an office of some kind.” Her words are short and you turn to see Morrigan standing, her face in pain as she holds her side.

“Check it out, we need info.” Morrigan is clearly in pain, though she takes a few more steps towards the office.

You immediately move towards Morrigan and grab her arm, stopping her.

“Will...” she starts, only for you to shake you head.

“You’re shot, let me fix it.” You keep your face firm, you and Morrigan have been talking a lot about how you should tell each other you’re hurt and Morrigan is very clearly hurt.

“...Fine.” Morrigan accedes to your wishes as gracefully as she can and settles against the wall. The red smear the follows her down a sign that you need to get to work relatively quickly.

Thankfully it’s a through and through in Morrigan’s side and didn’t hit anything particularly important. It’ll hurt like a bitch for a while but nothing you can’t fix. You tend to the wound, using some of the “antiseptic” stuff that Koko got you recently, as well as properly sealing the wound. You’ll need to get her to a proper doctor to make sure everything is really ok but for what you can do it’s a damn good job.

“Thanks Will,” Morrigan says with a groan, “Help me up.”

You help Morrigan to stand and then move slowly to the office. Inside Mary, Cath and Bellona are grabbing things that look important. One of them you’re not sure about, a plastic tower looking thing with a few holes in it but the papers and the explosives you can tell are probably something Koko wants.

“Find anything?” Morrigan asks.

“Lots of paperwork, some of it is bound to be useful given what I’ve seen even with this quick look.” Mary is on top of it all, stacking, discarding and stacking some more.

“The PC is probably shot but Koko may know somebody who can check it.” Bellona doesn’t look all that enthused about the possibility and you’re not really sure what a PC is but you suppose it’s worth a shot.

“Plenty to track.” Cath gestures to the pile of explosives, ammo and a few weapons that were for some reason stored in the office.

“Not sure we can carry it all though, with everyone hurt.” Mary looks at the piles, which are quite big.

“Damn.” Morrigan tries to walk by herself but quickly winces in pain.

“Alright, grab everything but...”

The only thing that matters is the hard drive. Motherboard, video card, CPU, power supply, all of that can be utterly destroyed but as long as the hard drive is intact, then everything is recoverable.

Given the girls went full auto I doubt it's in tact.

The harddrive does contain the info, but you need a working computer to access the data. If the motherboard has some extra holes though, no reason to not take it.

“Leave the extra guns and ammo, we can’t carry all of it.” Morrigan sounds like she hates leaving all the firepower around but there’s probably more important stuff in the papers and on the plastic tower thing.

“Will come here, we’re going to load you up with papers.” Mary directs you to come over and you do after making sure Morrigan is ok. There are A LOT of papers and everyone has a few by the end, even Morrigan though it’s only a few. When you’re finally finished, everyone leaves the office together, with Morrigan still leaning on you.

As you make your way down the hall everyone is somewhat wary but you cleared the way before and unless somebody was hiding really well you would’ve found them. Thankfully there’s nobody that pops out and you make it all the way down to the second floor with no issue aside from Morrigan hissing in pain a few times. Nem and Sarah are still on watch, though Nem seems to have moved her focus down to the first floor.

It’s only then do you realize that there’s an issue. You carried the tied up woman down the stairs and she’s still where she was set down. You’re also supporting Morrigan and while she probably can walk by herself, it’s not going to be an easy thing for her. Then you have two more prisoners from the second floor. They might be able to walk but you’ll still need to watch them. Nem is injured as well, leaving only four healthy people, two possibly able to walk prisoners and one who needs to be carried.

“Will, carry her, I’ll walk.” Morrigan is obviously in pain as she says that. “I don’t want anyone else dropping their weapons.”

It’s with great reluctance that you let go of Morrigan. You don’t really want to but it’s her orders and you suppose that the prisoner is worth something. You see Morrigan wince but she grabs a hold of her rifle and uses it as a makeshift crutch after removing her ammo. The other girls go and grab the two tied up men, marching them downstairs in an awkward little procession with Nem at the front, followed by Cath, then the prisoners who are watched by Mary and Sarah. You and Morrigan are following, with the girl still in a Fireman’s carry on your shoulder, Bellona bringing up the rear.

As you make it down to the ground floor, you encounter Koko’s squad heading up the stairs. There’s a brief moment where things are tense but Lem and the others look of, if a bit worse for wear.

“You look like shit Morrigan.” Lem comments, even though he’s covered in blood as well.

“You look like warmed over shit Lem.” Morrigan is in pain but she’s still going to snark back.

“Well, lets all get out of here, it looks like we’ve found what we’re looking for.” Lems squad has a number of prisoners as well and they have a few wounded but nothing terrible. One of them gives you a wink for some reason and you feel the girl on your shoulder wiggle.

It’s with a bit of finality that you all march out the front door of the house, past a number of dead bodies and find Koko waiting for you all with a smile on her face.

“It looks like you managed to find me some nice things.” Her eyes look over the prisoners, then over the rest of you. “Though you could be in better shape.”

“We managed.” Lem grins at Koko.

“I called the trucks, they’re on their way.” There’s a pause and then she nods. “You did well. All of you. Now it’s my turn.”

You don’t know what Koko is going to get up to now but soon enough the trucks that brought you here come and you don’t have to worry about that. Instead you focus on making sure your friends are ok, even giving Nem a painkiller for the bouncing. Morrigan gives you a nod and collapses against you after you finish with Nem, exhausted from the pain. This hurt you and your friends… you just hope it was worth it.
