Well scavenged gains and acrutements acquired from the dead and the soon-to-be-so fill our pockets. Having commenced repairs, the expedition crawlers shudder to life, succoured by the fuel and the supplies taken from the waystation.

The Venerable, low on essence and with recalcitrant controls, is quick prey to a horde of chattering engineers and technicians who wish to pry apart its secrets. Good scavenge, and a fine claim that goes to those that brought it in.

While others re-organise, some refit and we tend to wounds, now is the time to trade, barter and beg. The Expedition itself has little scrap of value, but a few things may trickle out from pockets if one can strike the right balance between the twins of avarice and altruism.

Velocity applies to all uses of a given secret.
Longshot makes things. . . improbable long shot.

Example; as a rank 3 Rifleman.
You take +2 AP, spending 6 AP. You roll your skill. 6 dice lets say. (3 harm, 3 rifles). You get 2 hits, 4 misses. Longshot converts 3 of those to extra effect, that is, damage or whatever you were trying to do. So total damage is base weapon damage + 5 (2 hits, 3 effect from Longshot)

If you instead got 0 hits at all, Longshot wouldn't make you hit a target you miss. This is somewhat important if you are operating with low dice ranges or negatives, or firing at someone who is defending. What it does is make your lucky rebounds better, and increases the top-end of your output.

The pathfinder team have reported back from Foltern, giving us a better feel for the area. We're plotting the best approach now.
Good call on the fuel expenditure. We would have gotten bogged down in a subtle shifting of the sand going by our old route.

Veldspar tells us one of his Patrols were lost near Foltern. Find their corpses, get some good swords.

Foltern itself is a Lost Hamlet. Flock of religious migrants under a father Abraham set out to establish a small farming commune. Things went well until a wrackstorm rolled into the area. Stragglers made it to a nearby waystation, torn up. Three of four - rumour goes - had trickle of algae dripping from where their eyes used to be. Father Abraham and his congregation was lost.

Foltern itself is swathed is haar, it boils out of the portals that used to drench the town.

This aquatic bounty is what draws in travellers and treasurehunters. And Abraham's Flock was well-supplied, fed from long years of fine farming. Get in, mark good sources of water, find the central chapel and try not loose yourself among the winding streets.
