We have secured a temporary refuge from night oweing to a long proctracted 3 front battle as well as one from the very skies. Though embattled our momentum slowly regains lest we are rent in the winds.

> Word of the Westing House has been signalled back to us, illuminating us of a previous attack this far down the roots. It is said that Niddhog's hordes fight further up and that his corruption is causing the tribes to stir into action.

Yggdra: If their Leystone is what needs repairing then it's best we secure the relay for our and the Federations' benefit. If we make that our goal tomorrow then we can surely make our first true step up the tree.

Errant: Perhaps speaking with Lady Ozo will allow us to realign our objectives if I recall, the Westing House is a vetted wayhouse approved by the Federation and the person what runs it has some say in the area.

Yes, is unfortunate by-product of alcoholism.

Rabbit thought about this on his way over and prepared a little something surprise. Only he had to estimate shoe size by way of statistical inference from last dog that stepped on him, so may not have gotten it correct.

1. Your damage is that woefully bad because default brewler shit is utter shit and barely gets close to decent even with some upgrades. You're supposed to up your damage via fire brandies but it's wasted on you. Nearly every time it's better for a brewler to support than to fight.

2. Flavor is assumed when you first chose your race (you pay for the second part)

3. Once you're level 4 you unlock flavor 2 and secret menu, BUT you can't actually get them until you spend another insight so that would go into being level 5. Yes it's confusing. Expired license "expands" at level 4 too and you either take redemption quest or school of hard knocks. Redemption quest let's you unlock the subjob you picked and continue it. SoHK let's you roll again and get more skills but the class is permanently locked. The skills are now a part of your kit permanently so will follow you if you brew as a sub job.

4. Buying weapon skills doesn't count towards you class levels.

Hello!

So, you look at the CLASS. That's your first thought to think. There are a few. They are not as strict as you might fear, but they're a starting point.

Each Class has associated Races.

The Races change-alter the Basic Stats of the class.

Example:
Magic Classes, the ShrineKeeper

Basic Stats:
Vit 4
Str 2
Res 4
Int 4
Spd 2
Per 4

But a FROG would get +1 Int (as it says).

Then your actual stats in the game come from the multipliers as they relate to your equipment.

For instance, a ShrineKeeper might have a Bamo Bwo, a Naginata,a Flute or a Staff.
You would pick 1 to start with.

The Staff is Cast Range 4, +4 Pot, 2x Mag
To get the spell, you'd do your INT x 2 + Pot
( 12 for Humans, 15 for frogs )
( Wait, 15, you say? But (( 4 + 1) * 2) +4 = 14. But also, frog racial is +1 Universal Pot. So 15!)

And then once you've found a CLASS and a RACE you get to pick a SKILL. Just one to start with. You get all free equipment, but other you pick. And then you go from there, and die quickly-sadly, and do it all over again.

And anyone is always here to help

The evacuation is a near success. But our Warriors, Knights and Barf are still behind. If Cranidyne makes contact with the base I bid you make yourselves scarce. It's simply too dangerous to wield Cranidyne like some over-heavy weapon !

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-xGZCKAMWU

Lady Ozo: It seems with everyone here safe and sound let us speak business. My establishment is quite a rare commodity for adventurers and a band or two is usual for business. I would be willing to reserve this house for you all to use for a day for but a meager copay of 1800 zenny.

However, as before, I can waive that requirement , if you are willing to install that stone at the LeyStation. And *I* will award you all with 3800zny as well as good word to the Federation.
> Helga's nose begin to itch.

Of course you are all free to use my establishment as a restaurant otherwise, it is open to all, and a single party of 5 may rest at a nominal rate of 450 zenny. But I must say there will be times when OTHER adventurers will find use of my services and are willing to pay.

Hmmm as far as I am aware this relay station connects with the Leyline network around the tree on the whole. Of course, without a Leystone to power it, it's as good as a stone monument.

The construction of this stone is simple you see, a product of the Li Family method since ancient times. Without it , many adventurers further up the tree are cut off from descending while forces from the city cannot aide them in turn. Word has not come back to the base of this Relay Station's predicament so we're taking it in our hands to patch things back together ever since the first one was destroyed mysteriously from the other side.

Rabbit needs to talk to all of you about Community, Cooperation, Communication and Honesty.

If Lady Ozo has a Business, and she tells you to use it, you must Do A Thing, you pledge to Do The Thing before you Go To Sleep. If you Go To Sleep immediately, and you do not ask for permission, pay the required expense, or talk amongst yourselves to figure out who does what, you are thieves, scroundrels, rapscallions, bandits, brigands and burglars. It is called Stealing, and when Rabbit did a lot of it, they put him in jail.

Rabbit is disappointed. In all of you. What you are doing is Dishonest and Small. Understand-knows it is purely accident because you are all very tired from your heroics.

If a frog were awake, some things might be said.

A frog might say that if a Lady Ozo wanted a Hangman and a frog to pay, she might have said something to it in the hours before the rest of the Roots arrived, such as when a frog knocked at the door. A greedy frog might even point out that she accepted a food-and-drink gift as a friend from a guest, not a hostress from a customer.

A frog might also speak about other hotels accepting payment at check-out, not check in. Lady Ozo seems to be in an unusual bind, and so offers stick and carrot to weary travelers. A frog might think that a simple request would have had a sweeter taste.

A frog with hurt feelings may even question the rudeness of a mayor yelling at sleeping friends about money and morals, when the Mayor-Rabbit has spent a day previous playing with cute saurian babes and mothers and swingsets. And likely eating delicious riceballs.

But a frog is [Dead Asleep] and so will only say, "ZZZzzzribbit."

That is a very good point Mayor, allow me to offer a possible counter argument

One, I am dog tired, no pun intended. And the one place we did set up to rest within is now no longer safe nor fit for purpose.
Two, I am still bleeding from the chest from being headbutted by a Saurian earlier. I have not been healed nor have I been able to heal myself.
And three, I have for the first time since I joined this team utterly emptied my innate SP reserves and I am not capable of anything else right now.

As far as I am aware we see no immediate reason /not/ to take this job offered to us, and that will give us something to work towards come daylight, and the departure.

>>2566176
"Very well, this is my first time seeing one face to face so I felt the need to ask."

"Oh dear where are my manners, Helga Burkhard of Yggdra's Roots. I cannot speak for us all here but, the terms you have outlined for this job seem fair, are you the member of a group working with the Federation or are you more of an independent contractor?"

That is true. Maybe need to think about what words Rabbit uses, if objection is so unclear or needlessly cruel in the making. Apologies. Rabbit does love all of you.

What Rabbit is saying is not that you are evil, but just that perhaps actions have consequences! So if you want to sleep, you say: "Hey, I can cover this cost, and someone can work with me! And here, I put down THIS MUCH".

Or you agree to do the thing that needs doing.

But unless you are maybe Kaz, you cannot read a mind. But now Helga has told the Cattes that we will pay, and so we shall, and then all is well and sorted! Thank you Helga!

Next, we find the Leystation, put the stone there, and fortitiously earn zenny and an entrance to the Roots!

Breaking character for a second because it's hard to get across through Rabbits crippling speech impediment:

When a call is made for a specific IN GAME INTERACTION, it's pretty important that people follow up on those with specific character actions. Ignoring them can be weird for consequences. What I'm trying to express through the mouthnoises of a confused alcoholic mayor isn't that you're bad people, far, far, far from it, but that when CHARACTERS go to sleep despite in game CHARACTER ACTION prompts, it also means you are explicitly ignoring prompts.

The lady goes "This costs X" and people sleep anyway, with *no one* responding to the direct character action, or holding off to communicate with other characters. Or saying "I'm willing to pay this" / "Not Willing" or "I'll work with you!". This is Maximum Bad Form, and it *will* get you killed. Not right now, but in other cases.

Please be careful out there! Talk to your team! Respond to the world! If people talk to you, talk back! That leystone looks spooky as all getout, and I'd hate for all of you to be murdered by angry catte kleptomaniacs or forced into a demon-summoning pact!

It makes me feel like a total autocrat to come in, see character actions, and make a top level call without knowing what anyone actually thinks about the issue. Without communication, we're playing blind here. So please, please, please do communicate. I say Mayor and not Commander because I don't want to run an army, but to not run one, I need people to state their preferences.

Now is great-grand time to re-organise while Rabbit runs for his scraggly life.

Maybe trade and talk amongst your resting selves? We need to MOVE a Leystone to the LEYSTATION

This means FINDING IT
SECURING IT
and TRANSPORTING IT.

Great people for all of that!

Rabbit imagines Dragon and Tower can do forceful recon, Castle can move the Rock through Magi and Hero can bring up the gun brimming backline.

Now, as you will all be RESTING you will be re-organising and learning new-exciting things! Yay! So you can do new-exciting things! Yay! So: Perhaps now is the time to suggest and sort out how to do the things you intend to do, going forward? And what you can do?

If a frog were awake and aware, a note about a Sally frog being gone, and a magi frog being here might be made.
>Sally [SM] was withdrawn
>Perovskia [Mg/Lo] is here

And also, a Roots comrade with some skill in ROPES would be a wise and welcome addition to TRANSPORT duties. A frog is happy to LIFT, but worries about FORCE being applied to a delicate crystal that may be Mysteriously Destroyed From The Other Side.

But a frog is aware only of dreams just now.

Ah, you're quite sharp. I am but a mere innkeeper our here in MossStone, the Wayhouse Federation's support comes my way as well word of their activity and a little birdy tells me that a great battle is afoot further up the base of the Tree. What's more, is that there seems to be a [complication] in their lines and now the Leystations connecting to the top have been cut off either on purpose to stem the influx of Rootborne, or by a pumpkin of sorts. Either way it spells quite the trouble and smells like quite the oppurtunity don't you think ?

It seems all are cleared to regroup at the WestingHouse, well then uh - Gubvner - what's the order ? We can get some shut eye until the morning - or we can attempt some night time operations and meet the dawn at walking speed.

> About Day Ends
The Day may end when Aggro is zero and 80% of the group is within a rest area. Some may be assigned to keep watch through the night and may dispose of threats discreetly or stir the party of major threats. Patrol shifts may be organized by the Party Leader.

Otherwise a time maybe set for the party to resume activity on the whole. This is done by Party Leader but it is recommended that they take a vote.

When the Day Ends , the Thread transitions to downtime and Players who manage to gain 4 rest stacks may enjoy the benefits of a rest such as

> Insight Spending
> Merit Spending
> Prepping Skills and Materials

> Party Leader, End The Day ? Y/ N

Also: Work on your -oarrr, or you are accidentally calling Cranidyne Giant Sparkling Rainbow Crystal, not Mother. Saurian is complex, multifacted murder-tongue. Now please, Gren and Yngvild, help Harokem who is bleeding, and off we go to a house full of Cattes.

About Fortress of Thought:
WIth the slew of changes to hit the LoreKeeper Class, Fortress of Thought becomes unlockable as a skill.

Various things come into play.

> Unconventional Mediums: Martial Weapons, Other Casting Mediums, and even Runes can be the focus of Runic spells or True Spells Converted to Runic. If it can be hit, it can be cast.

> With the page limits no longer holding back one's spellcast the maximum limit to a spell remains to be one's INT score

> Tapping Elemental Runes in one book while siphoning from a library of runes in another, while casting through a powerful medium is one of the few benefits of Fortress of Thought. Once spells are converted to Runic, nothing will stop it from being used.

He breathed in.
It had been a long day. In the moment Gren had pushed aside the sights and sounds of the battle. Stamped down his emotions. Compartmentalized until there was only one thing left. The need to survive.
Now, as he stood watch, staring into the darkend forest. It all came back. The mocking laughter of the harpies. The hideous moblins and the bark of their guns. The gryphin's shriek as it attacked and the low keen as it died. The sudden surge of hammerbeaks threatening to break their lines. The caster's swift reprisal. The instant of panic as Roka was swallowed by a slime. The terrifying shlorp when he was consumed himself. The spine shivering roar of the Cranidyne.
He breathed out.
They had survived it all. Yggdra's Roots was everything he'd heard. Insanely foolhardy and admirably courageous in equal measure. Gren knew he had a long way to go to prove himself worthy of their company, but he would prove himself. Had to prove himself.

Some business before dawn:

Current watch: Kaya, Hetros, Rabbitspaw, Gren, Roka, d'Alger

Recent encounters indicate the smaller spiders have 35HP and 7 ARM, in addition to a paralyzing bite. Larger specimens appears to be tougher than a Jackal, at ~140 HP and 16 ARM. Attack unknown. Enter uncleared forest at your own risk, especially near the Griffin head they're feeding on.

I'm purchasing 24 sheets of Magicked Paper. Useful for a number of you, but Shrinefolk have first claim. Hetros, consider Kyou Kai 2 at earliest convenience. I think you'll find Familiar Terms quite economical.

Brother Lammergeier, be advised we may call on your [Aide] to help Kaya set up an evening Gate. If find yourself near a critical destination, be prepared for additional demands on your positioning around Hour 18.

Yngvild, if you could confirm - I'm not sure what's become of your deal with that harpy.

. . . Did you? Oh no. Rabbit sometimes forgets. Is not sure if you mean “pay for my rope-thread to see things”. Rabbit recalls he did at the time! And offered everyone all the funds and trinkets providable earlier too.

So, unless Rabbit is having anyrusm-stroke, he is not accepting a deal he has not already worked-done before? You are really just saying-stating you need tools to do a job.

This isn’t as cruel a trick-manipulation as maybe feared? Rabbit rather feels he is the cunning one here. Sly, even.

If you cannot -or will not negotiate to your advantage somehow, then negotiate fairly and understand the positions. At the very end of it, it was Shrine Maiden Luka, may the Gods bless her soul, who ultimately granted us escape from Krysta."
>>
>>2583236
"You are, in fact, mistaken about a number of details. The mayor had no mechanism to free himself, and additionally he ignored my multiple requests for financial assistance. And while I am very grateful to the help Luka provided, she would not have been able to act in such a manner without my rescue. As such, I do find your interference improper. I ask for very little, and the continual resistance I receive in return reveals the true nature of this group."

"I am not sure I like the precedent being set up here."

"D'Algers, you nearly died on this expedition and were it not for the timely intervention of our Longcoats and Spellcasters, including myself, you would have met an ignoble death at the hands of goblins. Should we now be requesting compensation for the ammunition and mana expended on your behalf? Am I now beholden to Helga and Gear for being saved by them when a Raptor snuck into our rear line? Is Hunt's entire rear line now in Yorbas and I's debt for neutralizing the entire first wave of raptors by ourselves when the rest of the hunt merely fled? This is as ridiculous a prospect as it sounds!"

"Believe me, I have my own misgivings about certain facets of the Wyrd Hunt and its members, and if memory serves I've voiced most of them already. If we're to expect a reward any time one of us goes out of their way to assist another, however, this outfit will quickly tear itself apart squabbling over who saved who and what an appropriate reward should be."

"I understand the need for proper gear when stepping upon the battlefield but let's not resort to things like the I-Saved-You argument, or withholding our services, or other similar petty tactics that only serve to breed animosity within an otherwise mostly functioning mercenary company."

"If you need something to do your job better, then by all means ask for it. I was under the impression this was part of the reason Rabbit and a majority of others agreed to squirrel a portion of our finances away in the first place. If you've made requests, as you claim, and haven't received a suitable answer then that's another matter to address."

"Lastly, when you want something, don't make a ludicrous negative generalization of your entire mercenary company. That's not a good way to go about getting what you want."

>1st, this. These ropes were passed to me prior to my request for financial support in maintaining my rope supplies, etc. Assumedly this is something that was occurring mid battle in an attempt to help all of us as is usual. After Krysta was driven off, I made a separate request of Rabbitspaw for financial aid in resupplying my ropes and kunai, which was ignored or missed.

2nd, I never intended to state that I personally rescued Yoko. The person who I rescued was literally Rabbitspaw himself, who through a series of Rope Mastery and Yarido actions, I pulled out of Krysta's paws and onto her back. I did this for Luka as well. The comment I made was that "[Rabbitspaw] had no way to free himself from Krysta," which was true.

3rd, people appear to have begun reading my actions in as negative a light as they can.

>>2580258
>The claims I made in this post were very specifically almost identical to what Rabbitspaw already offers every member of the Roots. They were intended as partially an escalation of "you didn't hear what I said before" and also a cute little mystery for RP. But now I'm basically explaining the joke and I think that thread is way less interesting now.

>You should honestly consider that you are allowing some detractors' opinions of me color how my posts read. I'm well aware of the discord and have seen plenty of garbage posted about me. It is pretty frustrating that as a part of the character I've chosen to play I'm not able to defend myself from being called "whiny", "suicidal", and "trying to get everyone to suck my cock" when no one has the stones to post in a thread that they have a problem with me, probably because they just want to vent. Never mind that some people's readings of my actions are completely wrong and missing the larger picture of what was happening at the time. But I'm quickly growing sick of it now that those behaviors are leaking into the thread without giving me any way to respond to them, such as Bloom's rude response which, out of character, I am aware of the reasons for - but cannot address in character because he simply won't bring them up in thread. He has also chosen to misread what I said as some form of "He owes me for letting him loot shit, and I want to extort doing the sidequest with you" instead of "I want to do cool things with other players! Hey that response was kind of brusque and rude, you want to reword that?" A simple "I want to do this alone because I think I can" would have sufficed.

>Do what you want, though. I would have brought up in character how I think everyone's stepping on Rabbitspaw's toes and acting as if he's powerless to make his own decisions. But frankly I feel like that would just escalate this when I'd rather just drop it.

You play as an Adventurer.
However the game's scenario assumes the identity of the Yggdra's Roots Guild and follows their story.

As for your agency as a character , you are but a pawn on a multiplayer chessboard and dying is very possible if you dont join one of the smaller teams that are working towards the same goal. Try it out, get a taste, die in a ditch.

(Sorry, I'm trying to avoid the use of green text for the sake of processing)
-- I made a separate request of Rabbitspaw for financial aid in resupplying my ropes and kunai, which was ignored or missed.

(I think it was likely just missed. I don't think Rabbit is that mean-nasty. Is nice Rabbit. Seriously, not being biased. The wall of text in these threads are pretty real. They can eat time like baku eat dreams.)

-- I never intended to state that I personally rescued Yoko.
(Sorry about that. It read that way to me.)

-- people appear to have begun reading my actions in as negative a light as they can.
(Well the way the material support was phrased had me concerned about certain implications. I agree with Mord for the most part and feel it can set a certain precedent, depending on how it's handled. But that really goes down to how the text was interpreted in the first place. That was pretty much my main concern.)

-- I think everyone's stepping on Rabbitspaw's toes
(He's a big boss politician now. Not that there was anyone running against him. There's some natural concern about setting certain tones on my part, so I'm compelled to act. That goes back to the above thing about interpretation. I think it's less that Rabbit is powerless to make his own decisions and more that he's been shown to teeter on making bad ones. Not that he has made any grievous mistakes -narratively, I vaguely remember something about him almost squandering town funds on silly things.
Anyway, I'll just drop it. Please do continue with Rabbit's guesses if you're feeling up to it. I think he might know. Also, sorry if I contributed to the shit storm.)

I'm against reorganizing the squads/teams by purpose. It is not a very flexible means of grouping, and typically falls apart three phases in when circumstances require those groups to change their goals, ultimately resulting in individuals forming small units based on the people near them.

I'd rather have somewhat balanced teams that can take any task, rather than groups that are optimized for a small range of objectives.

Here are some general tools to help plan things:
Here is a copy of the Guild Accounts (Thanks Monday/Scholar!). Click the tap called RABBIT ACCOUNTING - I have been trying to keep track of the flow of money, food and people in and out of Dunnkirk and the roots.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eiu2EBqy9ijKYDLibi1JwjzXrfNKaY-G4VZ3GZX_WiA/edit?usp=sharing

I keep a master copy, but this one is editable.

Here is a copy of the Guild Bank with Items innit (Thanks Doof!).

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TnZwP56ZUrHnSHAq6oH2V-yE0UvWlcM7x-ACUPp5fD0/edit?usp=sharing

It also has a current team rooster and a lootpile request interface. High Tech. I put some stuff in there as well just now that I noticed Rabbit had lying around. I keep a master copy, but this one is editable.
>>
A wandering fortune teller gave Rabbitspaw a bunch of incredibly dangerous weapons with zero oversight and Rabbit has tried very hard to avoid smiting all our enemies with the power of infinite death.

Even if sometimes tempted.

Tries to be a good person.

Ahem.

--

The cards work by the guild-leader having them, and spending an action to use them. They fit into a deck of play cards, which is a bag-type item, so they take up 1 unique inventory slot from carrying the deck, not 3 separate slots.

Speaking personally, the recommendation is that you do not, as guild leader, use them.

Except The Fool, that one should be relatively safe. Documentation appears as an attached imagery, is also available in the thread archives. Maybe check with Scholar if this is still even a thing. Rabbit never used the death-nukes because Rabbit was once told Conviction is important, and he doesn't have a lot of it.
>>
The guildleader has access to a ForAll bag. As the name implies, it is as bag for everybody with >20 ish slots, into which the guild bank mostly fits.

Squad Leaders/Party Leaders *may* have access to one as well. Check with Scholar.

>I've personally always found items that increase inventory sizes to be REALLY DANGEROUS to games of survival like this, so really do check because we may want to just forget they exist.

--

That leaves a ForAll Bag with access to the guild bank (see link) and accounts (see link) and one set of playing cards that can more or less destroy a city available.

Rabbit also has a Mayoral Grass Cloak, which is just something he Totally Made Up just like all the titles left. But it is a bit officious, and really brings out your eyes.

So if someone would like, they can grab the bag, the cards and the cloak, and enjoy a spot of Mayoral CO'ing. It's a great job, and you meet some fantastic people. That's you lot. Thanks for everything, being your drunken hobo mayor has been a delight. I simply can't shave out the hours or the time to keep up the level of effort I'd like to anymore.

"The old mayor has resigned from his position! LONG LIVE RABBITS PAW!...We're gonna need a new mayor..."
So with the above posts about Rabbitspaw leaving his position, this leaves us with a vacancy. A BIG vacancy one that kinda needs to be filled in for the upcoming battles and events ahead. We need a new mayor, one that will is willing to lead this group to victory and still be fair to everyone.
Now, what is a mayor you may ask? Well, a mayor is simple, they handle most of the activities that will be described below.

1. Handling team positions, and squad formation.
2. Accounting for the revenue of the town, managing the guilds bank revenue and use. Examples include Handling requests for players that wish to purchase an item although lacking the funds, buying a cannon for the group as a whole, or investing it into some sort of super rice ball statue...
3. Being an active player and leader in the game. Reminding people of the objective, assigning people to spots where they may be the most helpful and making sure that conflicts between players do not happen.
4. Providing a voice for the group as a whole in the event of any story missions or acting as a representative when someones wish to speak with the leader of [Yddgra's roots]
5. Handling the [fate cards] and being a manager for the town of [Dunkirk]
6. Being a fair player, and providing an example of how to play this game.
7. Being an active player of the game, honestly cannot stress this enough. Being a mayor requires TIME AND DEDICATION!
8. Assigning who get's to use the for-all bag and more!!!

Overall, being a mayor requires courage, aptitude, and most importantly dedication! Lot's of that third one to be in fact. As the previous one dropped out due to life getting in the way.

SO! If you want to be mayor please speak up! If you want to be a mayor of our fair guild now is the time to speak up! I will be handling votes, potential candidates and etc.

Oh yes, here is our discord, warning it only works for a day... https://discord.gg/ZZJvad

So how do you plan to lead? How do you want to organize us? Will you distribute loot differently? What method will you be using to communicate with the rest of us? What makes you think you're fit for duty?
>>
>>2585708
Strategically, I work off the simple truism that, as a battle goes on, people sort themselves out less by team than by target and action economy. It's an effective tendency so long as individuals' concern for success and comrades prevails. My job is to recognize when this tendency will be too diffuse for the matter at hand, and provide focus.

Loot needs no reworking. The leader manages assets awarded to the Guild - mostly z, very simple to divvy up - and individuals manage purchase and exchange among themselves.

Excepting urgent discussions in Discord, communication belongs in the thread, where it can be archived. My disposition is not so disarming as Sir Rabbit's, but being public is the least I can do.

I've demonstrated some competence in victory at Hachibana and planning the rescue of Doof and Fusius back in Dunndirk. I have been present since the formation of the Roots and have watched the flow of money and administration under Rabbitspaw as carefully as I can. It works, and I'm willing to do and further learn what's needed to keep it so.
>>
>>2586957

>>
>>2587584
But-but Errant studies Runners, and Other Things. Can't interfere-interject with Study Materials. Is a paradoxical paradox. If he has power-control to say "You lead", then why does he not lead?

Sometimes, Rabbit starts to wonder if one needs a mayor at all, or anyone with a Fancy Hat, and on those nights, Rabbit really drinks . . .

Uuhh, we could settle it with a fight! Fights are fun. But as Rabbit would win, it would be redundant. Aww.

>>2587027
Maybe Rabbit was a bit hasty, then? You could all wait until we reach the roots to re-organise, and Rabbit will just hold on to the DoomCards and Cloak for now.
>>
>>2587659
... or just do it easier! Rabbit was going a little crazy trying to manage everything while working 19 hour days but Rabbit can go a little less crazy if he does something a little less crazy-more sane.

Harokem! Luney!

Harokem! Be smart-clever Industrious Warmaster. Organise items, and give shouty orders like always, and be a Kommandant. Rabbit can make that a thing, because mayors cannot abdicate before new mayors is elected. Then you are smart-benevolent Commander like at Hachibana, and all is well.

Luney! Be a happy-focused leader and watcher and Captain. Then what Harokem does not do, you can do, as clever officer, to lead and watch and help.

Then Rabbit will just watch the Total Guild Accounts and make sure There Are No Discrepancies (Fairness Without Exclusion).

And with two shiny theatre-leaders, Rabbit also does not have to make all the calls and will not be so worried he makes the wrong ones.

And you were both voted for, and you are both trust-worthy, and yes?
>>
>2587367
I'm curious. Are you troubled by the quality of the candidates, some precedent set by putting things to a vote?

I ask because, as far as I can tell, when it comes to the frankly thankless task of administration, I don't see what Errant can do to assign it better than a vote on the few who are actually willing.
>>

I'm amenable.

=Morning of Second Day=

"It's become clear that Rabbit has come overwhelmed with their tasks, and who is to blame him, his mania in keeping you all alive must be no small feat.

As for the candidates involved, Luney has substantial qualities for leading- if leading was all it took to occupy this position without incident. But I'm also mindful of the toll if the gods were to go against us. A man could break at the sight of so many taken before their time.

For this reason and it is not as better a reason that I choose Harokem. Your experience in fighting both alone and with those around you has proven to be a Boon to us in hours dark and bright and they mean to strengthen the traditions and ties that our young guild has formed. For the now , they shall be appointed Party Leader for today's Outing.

>> Harokem is now Party Leader

Now, be that as it may - will our objectives today be to seize the relay ? Or forge a path elsewise ? Harokem, I'll let you have the first order.
>>
>>2587772>>2587909

"Well I humble accept any responsbilites that you may hand over to me Harokem. I shall try my best to not let you down."
>>
>>2588453
Interesting that you should say that.
In light of recent events, I have concocted or rather come to remember an old tradition that I feel will work for this realm's way of doing this.

I'll have our party leader current name for themselves a Second. This individual will not only act as their proxy in their but as a silent and stalwart spine of their will. Perhaps their strengths may complement Harokem's shortfalls. Or perhaps their responsibilities are divergent and dichotomous. Either way my secondary purpose for implementing this is to reduce the stress on the lead firstly, and to consolidate responsibilities to but a few poles in our ranks. This way , there is no room for error as to where either end of this group lies.

>> The Party leader may name a Second.
>>
>>2588373
I'd like to know from Lady Ozo where the road to the west and the road from the northeast stronghold lead, if a rough map isn't available.

What business Rabbitspaw had, I intend to see through. Unless another destination reveals itself, there's no reason to head anywhere but up with leystone in tow.

>We'll seek out the leystation.

I have my inclinations toward Perovskia's plans, but for now we'll stick with what's already worked: Rabbit's plan, with some changes. >>2567560 Two teams geared roughly toward securing our destination, two teams for crystal transport and miscellaneous support. Outside chance of a Gate from Kaya easing some of our travel.

If there are any objections, let's have them in light of day.

In the interest of building a surplus, I'll ask that any xtals taken be replaced by at least an equal number of any type before another take can be approved. Wheel and deal on the xtal market, if it helps makes ends meet.

But, Firas should have no difficulty converting into the requisite pile of corpses. Please confirm which bottle (empty or full) and how many of the 6 xtals you want, and consider it approved.

=Dawn of the 2nd Day=

=Runner's Notes =
With the Abalathian Gryphon probably reduced to bones by now we should likely be safe from aerial predation. However, with the appearance of Cranidyne it is likely that this place will become its hunting grounds for a time. Lady Ozo assures me that it only does this at the midnight of vitas and by morning we're like to see a trail of death to the northern where its true quarry lies.

Lady Ozo: The Relay lies to the north east of here it is a bit of a walk across this area but if you follow the road it should take you there. As your resident Innkeep i should also apprise you of the surrounding areas.

To the north is a path covered in a briar patch usually it is cleared off by overlarge beasts but grows once again on their trail of death. I would not suggest going up that route unless you are ready to ascend even further up the tree with your current supplies. And to the west of this shack is a "lake" created by a basket of roots and branches. Should you dare exploring the tree's interior following the river inward should be your priority however I will warn against Sahagin tribes and a most unfortunate ring of riverside pirates that a way as well. "

With that said rest up as the next day should prove to be quite the challenge. Ever since you all have arrived, the moblin armies have grown and they are surely beginning to fortify the relay for their own purposes. Nevertheless, I ask you to be the lance that drives them in their heel before they decide to build up enough number to descend onto a town or three. Should such a thing even concern you. "

Thank you for the paper, they will come in most useful once I'm done turning them into wards. As for the Gate you can count on me to get it up for a quick retreat if need be! Mmm, could I say something though? What about leaving the stone here with a guard and Gating it over once the station is secured? No chance for the stone to be intercepted enroute, and fewer guards needed to keep the stone safe. We would be working alongside Lady Ozo and any adventurers that show up, I am sure that they would be happy to help.

Put sir Armstrong in the Vanguard, I can offer my prayer if things get hairy back here. Then when he's set everything straight (if he is willing to help of course), one of the others in the Vanguard team can call him back to the front. Lammergeier, was it? I can speak with him and we can try to work out how Aide works for the dusk gate construction-- I've never tried casting magic through another person before!

Hunting and ascension north, relay and hordes northeast, sundry scum to the west... I don't fancy turning my back on any of them, though the northeast is the most relevant obstacle to control of the Tree.

Do the pirates ever trouble you here, Lady Ozo, and are they in alliance with the fishmen? I recall a bounty on a certain Fargulf and gang. Eyepatch, unkempt, toothy grin as is a kerbold's wont. Are these the pirates you mean?

This as well. >>2589397 We have access to limited transportation magic, but do you know how it might interact with yours?

>>2560215
Brother Lammergeier, while reviewing for possible coordination with Kaya, I noticed a few things.

Your M.RES is appropriate for Industrial Longcoat, but not for Stranger's Hat
VIS should now be 9
And Ammo Pockets is innate to your class, not the Industrial. You can carry more than you think!
>>
>>2589405
Haven't the slightest idea, Great Leader! Though if I squint at it and tilt my head a bit, it looks a lot like some sort of anchor, to stabilize distant Gate connections perhaps.

Put it in a box, slap a few wards over it and it'll be good to go, I'll bet. Unless Lady Ozo has an opinion? She is the maintainer of this station, after all, so she would know best.

Lady Ozo:
"We of the Wester House have gotten by serving all manner of customers. If you fear for our prosperity , dont. The pirates are definitely not ones to run a tab unpaid even though we are aware of its source. With that said, what you do with them outside of these walls are your own business "
>>

Riceballs. Rabbit will be around. Just quiet-quiet, pondering implications of lack of Rabbitness.
>>
>>2589417
Aha. Propriety on all sides.

There's talk of moving the leystone through a Gate to simplify transport. Do you know if we should expect adverse reaction between Gate magic and a... Maid Dimension conduit?

>>2589396
Useful!
>>
>>2589458

Lady Ozo :
The object is quite solidly fixed to this material plane and- displacing it through the folds of the leyline will cause it to unravel and quite possibly dissolve in the ley. I'm afraid you must do it the classic way and simply have one man commit themselves to the task of physically carrying the object on their back - at the cost of their entire backpack and hoof the route on foot. I would like to think that our crystal should prove to be practical on all fronts. The Crystal was fabricated by the Li family after all.
>>
FYI I may not be able to post until the 31st.
>>
I don't believe anyone has attempted to take a new class aside from Luney, who has recently been informed, but:

New classes cannot be learned in the field, only in a Town.
Classes can be switched during rest, presumably minimum 4 turns.
Equipment in storage outside the Forall bag can be retrieved via Courier from any Wayhouse. The fee is 25z per inventory slot worth of items retrieved.

Small objects such as ammunition and materials can be stacked to 99 per slot
Most consumables and throwables such as potions or knives stack up to 10 per slot
Large objects take a whole slot.
Different items, no matter how small, take up separate slots. Retrieve in bulk!

--

Objectives! We now know that our package has no tolerance for shortcuts, as is only proper, ha! Someone with good legs and leisure to use them must carry a crystalline bagful to the northeast.

That someone would tend to be a Longcoat or Frank, who are inconvenienced least by the sunk carrying capacity and travel time. But for my part, I expect to be at risk too often to be the carrier.

I'll hear any volunteers before I start insisting.
>>
>>2589511
How fast do you want that "crystal carrier" to be? If you don't find any volunteer I can try to create a [Wisp] and make it carry the crystal
>>
>>2589511
Whoever ends up carrying it will likely be targeted, so they best be made of stern stuff!

I'd volunteer myself, but that would mean surrendering the paper wards and you never know when a quick barrier can come in handy.
>>
>>2589519
I've only seen the things dissipate after a turn, and I'd rather not see the crystal dropped too often. If you're certain of maintaining the wisps, it's worth a try.
>>
>>2589521
>>2589511

"I currently have no excess amenities and I believe I fulfill the requirements of 'made of stern stuff.' As such I would gladly volunteer to carry the stone."
>>
>>2589477
Another thing, Ma'am. Some of my comrades see a need to shore up the distribution of our healing arts. To that end, are there any Artes you could pass on to us, or supplies for sale?
>>
>>2589519
>>2589526
I expect a grinding advance like yesterday's battle, taking ground only steps at a time. Within reason, speed is an unlikely requirement.

So, the working plan is two or three hours' experimentation with Wisps, with the crystal otherwise falling to Gren.

Yorbas Derives Knowledge of the [Leech Dimension] a hyperaetheric plane composed of leeches that will cause one much discomfort and bloodloss. Teleporting to it is doable with [Abysmas] but one's exit from such a place is not guaranteed nor accurately manipulated. Roll higher than 50 to succeed at transporting target to the Leech Dimension.

Helga derives the Conduction Rune. Not to be confused with the levin element, the Conduction Rune allows the Base spell to leap from one living or aetheric object to the next within 1 tile.
Root Word: Cast a 3 range volt in 4 directions with conduction properties.
Modifer Word: The spell will target successive creatures within X tiles of the spell's impact point. X being the amount of range modifers + 1

Perovskia gains knowledge of Leystones constructed by the Li.

Jernau having firsthand experience of the Leech Dimension has knowledge of the Leech Dimension and may walk it. Using Abysmas.

[Leech Walk] 8 Abysmas - You may travel any planar distance from your current position at the cost of 1hp per tile of distance. Casted incorrectly and you will gain Leeches.
