[Prelude]

You were just a boy when Wall Maria had fallen by the colossal titan that appeared out of thin air. Its attack create a hole on the wall that led mindless titan inside, slaughtering everyone. But humanity fought back with their best soldiers: The Garrison Soldiers. They did their best in the desperate struggle, buying time so the civilians could evacuate. Unfortunate, The Wall Maria was forever lost to the Titans.

You were there in all its chaos and massacre. You saw what those mindless beast can do and how the army valiantly battled against the monsters. You saw people getting crushed, chewed, and spit back by the mindless monsters. People you know and love died in front of you, bitten or crushed. The house you live became nothing but dusts. People Wailing and screaming as their lives was destroyed.

You saw despair in its natural essence.

But there is also hope. The army flew like eagle and struck the monster with great finesse, turning them to dusts. They are the best people against these horrid, mindless monsters and the hope of humanity.

You want to soar too, one day. To dance across the air and see people from the sky. Maybe applying for the army is your best chance! Ignoring the chaos and wailing around you, you began planning to join the Training corps.

Few Years Later

Food shortage is hell, especially for the refugee. That's mean you and your family barely eat everyday while they were being worked hard on the fields.

There was a plan for taking the Maria Wall and your uncle joined the operation with many others but the result was disastrous. The last thing you remembered about your uncle was his optimistic grin about how they will be heroes for taking back the wall. It's pretty sad but you still have your parents and baby sister.

During this time, you began focusing on...

Studying the History of Titans.

It is still unknown how or where the titans were coming from, especially with their lack of reproduction organs. The only thing you knew about them was that their main goal is to eat humans and their weakness is the nape on their neck. Don't know why but when it is sliced, they fall and began disintegrating into dust.

Good stuff and perfect for the army exams. Whatever the trial is, you're ready! Now you just have to wait for a few months until the registration comes out.

---

Everyone has to go through that harness test first in order to cull the 'useless' ones as the examiner said. Seems tough but you aced it, easily balancing yourself under the harness. One of the participant spins himself while in the air, vomiting as soon as he stopped, The poor guy lacked lower strength.

From 200 people to merely around 100, standing proudly in line while the instructors were barking at them and you are one of them. It won't be long before you take the harness and flew like the birds.

---

"On your feet, Maggots! My name is Keith Shadis and I am here to whip you useless lot into a fine titan-killing machine! You will not talk unless spoken and you will end every word with 'Sir, Yes sir! IS THAT CLEAR?"

"Sir, Yes Sir!"

Scary bald guy with a goatee is your instructor and besides him were other instructors but it seems the baldie is the leader... Better get to his goo-

"YOU THERE!"

Shit! He's looking at you! Act natural!

"Yes, Sir?" you shout, looking at him with a smile.

The instructor grimace, stepping closer with heavy footsteps," What is your name, maggot?"

Consider me corrected. Seemed Nip from a glance but that's probably cause I've spent too much time on this site.

Interestingly Arigi ALSO exists as a Japanese name. It's one of those weird coincidences like the Scottish name "Hannah" and the Japanese name "Hana".
>>
>>2544577
Why not, could be worse
>>
>>2544546

"Julius Arigi, sir!"

The man in front of you frown," Well, Julius. Is there anything funny on my face?"

You crane your head in confusion,"no,sir?"

"Then STOP THAT FUCKING SMUG AND GIVE ME 20!" The instructor roars, causing you to drop down and quickly do 20 push-up. This is not what you're expecting...

EQUIPMENT LESSON

"Now this is your equipment. There are many like this but this is yours so take good care of it," the glasses instructor says as he present the ODM Gear. You cant help but be giddy about it.

-Maneuvering Gear. This complex piece of equipment uses gas-powered grappling hooks to allow you to move freely through the air,
as long as there are surfaces for you to attach to. You have been trained in its use. [ 10 uses/ a pair of tank. Have 1 extra tank]

-Two Titan-slaying swords. Because Titans have extraordinarily tough skin, so only these amazingly sharp special blades - or similarly
high-powered ordinance - can harm them. Unfortunately, the downside of these blades is that they’re only good for a few hits before
they are blunted. Accordingly, the swords’ blades are detachable, and you’ll be carrying around several replacement blades with you. [ 5 slice/a pair of blade. 4 extra pair]

- they need to reload or you will have a critical disadvantage.

" Remember this: It is better to reload them when they still have one more use, especially in a dangerous situation. You need to keep moving and hitting"

Spares [A person can carry one additional piece of equipment and still freely use Maneuvering Gear. If you carry more than one, you’ll start every operation with the Disadvantage “Encumbered”.
A person can carry up to three pieces of equipment. A horse with saddlebags can carry up to four.]:

-Spare blades. If someone is running low on blades, then you can give them some to keep them in the fight.
-Spare gas. If someone is running low on gas, then you can refill them if you have a couple of minutes of downtime.
-Rifle. Deadly for humans, won’t kill a Titan but you can shoot out the eyes on a smaller one.
-Torch. Titans are inactive during the night, so sources of light are important for journeys beyond the walls.
-Flare gun. Can fire smoke flares of various colors, both to send simple messages over long distances or to dazzle and confuse Titans.
Comes with a complement of flares.

"Now then, let's try this out shall, we?"

One by one, the trainee began equipping the ODM Gear under the watchful eyes of the instructor. It's bit tight and heavy on your waist but this is fine. As soon as everyone are done with their equipment, they all fall line and began marching to the training area. It's basically a dug-out mountain in the middle of nowhere and plenty of rocky walls for training.

Instructor Shadis began to scan the group and his eyes falls on you," Smiley! Get your sorry ass to the front!"

Shit!

"NOW PRESS THAT TRIGGER!"

And you did without thinking.

CLICK

"Cool!" You grin widely.

Suddenly the hook launched itself into the wall and embedded itself there. Suddenly, you feel your body suddenly move toward the hook. You can feel the air going through your hair and pushing against your skin. This is great! You can feel as if you're flay-

CRASH!

And you plant you straight to the wall before falling to the ground. Hard.

" As you can see, you need concentration and planning if you want to stay safe using ODM Gears," The glasses instructor continues his lecture while you're on the ground floor. Pretty sure you're nose is broken.

Omni-Directional Mobility Gear training

In the afternoon, the instructor began another training for ODM gear. They hanged the sandbags and began swinging them while you have to pass through them with ODM Gears.

"Since you maggots already experienced with your gear, you need to learn how to dodge attacks using it. Smiley! Get your ass in front and began dodging!" the instructor grins menacingly

You sigh. This is your life now and pretty sure you can hear other smirking.

>Avoid Harm (Agility)
When you move out of the way of incoming danger, roll +Agility.
On a 10+, you escape the threat without harm.
On a 7-9, you can escape, but the GM will present you with a Disadvantage
or unpleasant choice

With renewed determination, you grin at the face of danger and anticipation. Since you are familiar with the gear, it is time to fly!

You plan your shots and take a deep breath. Letting it out, you regain your focus and press the triggers.

Click! Fssssh

The hooks flies true on the air and penetrate the wall while your body began to feel the pull of the hooks. This is it! Your real flight!

and it felt right. You swim on the air and dances around the sandbags, quickly changing position after position. While this takes toll on your stamina, you are in a bliss. Is this how birds feel when they fly? It felt so right!

You dodged the final sandbags in mid-air and gently land on the finish line, exhausted. At least you can feel the awe from your fellow trainee and the approval from your instru-

"IS THAT ALL YOU CAN DO, SMILEY? I WANT BETTER RESULT THAN THAT SHITTY MOVES!" The instructor roars," NEXT! YEAH YOU! GET JUMPING!"

> -1 agility from exhaustion

At least you can rest while waiting for the rest.

> Exhaustion negated

---

The next lesson is about positioning. The correct position is critical when fighting and attacking titans but it uses gas from your gear.

>Get Into Position (Agility) (Cost 1 gas)
When you use Maneuver Gear to try and get into position to attack a Titan,
roll +Agility.
On a 10+, gain an Advantage that can be used to attack that Titan.
On a 7-9, you still gain an Advantage, but pick one:
-The Titan notices you moving in to attack, and makes you its top priority.
-You overexert yourself moving into position. Take -1 ongoing to Agility until you can rest in a safe place for a few minutes.
-You're running low on gas - you'll need to resupply soon. Take "Low on Gas" as a Disadvantage.

For this training, they use a tree shaped like a titan. The point of this exercise is to familiarized yourself when going against Titans.

>Advantages/Disadvantages: A Situational buff/nerf that stays in effect as long as the situation is still the same. E.G: Following the plan will grant the squad +1 throughout the battle but being ambushed will net you -1.

The instructor gave at you with a smirk while you step in front of the line in defeat. Better get this out of the way.

>>

>>
>>2544781
Think like a Wing Diver. Speed is life!
>>
>>2544763

With a familiar click, you began positioning yourself on the titan's neck. While it took you two tries, you successfully finished the exercise with the instructor's nod and an almost empty canister. Two out of three nods is better than nothing and baldie is hard to please....

Finally it's night time. Rest and dinner is all you need right now...

With a plate full of mashed potato, assortment of veggies, and a pair of sausage, you began searching for a place to sit.

> Sit with the small blonde girl and the tall girl

> Sit with the slim tall guy and his sturdy buddy.

"Yo, name's Julius Arigi. nice to meet you," you put on your best smile and hopefully she return the greeting.

Sadly, things does not always go as planned," I don't need to be friends with clowns. Please leave me alone."

Cold. Damn cold. She's like the Ice Queen, especially with that stare of her. Dejected, you began eating your food but sneak a peek or two on this girl.

While she's petite, you can see her form is sturdy and developed as if she is already trained. that's strange. You want to ask more but afraid that she might cast her cold glare on you.

ouch...

"Alright, fine. Then who do you need to be friends with?" you ask in desperation. Still her icy gaze is still pointed towards you.

"Certainly not some clown like you,"She spat before leaving the table with her empty plate.

It feels like your heart broke that very night....

(That's for today, folks. While I apologize for the short quest, we will start same time tomorrow. Hopefully. Until then, gnight.)

After your failed attempt, you began marching to your room. A small wooden room, which creak as soon as you enter, and two bunk bed with small space in the middle. A bit claustrophobic but you can live with it for few months.

And your roommates?

"Well, lookit here! We got Smiley!" Said the brown haired guy who's sporting it into a short ponytail. He's smiling playfully while laying down on his lower bed. The grey haired guy above him grunted but say nothing.

At least the mousy bunk mate of yours tried to defend you," Guys, c'mon. He's just having a bad luck." At least he have a great short blonde hair.

"Bad luck means death in battle," Grey grunts.

So... an annoying crackwise, the silent type, and a shy midget.

"Troja? That's a mouthful." Lucas grins but quickly shut up with Troja's glare.

" And in the first day, we already have a rival. What a day." Lucas sighs, plopping back on his bed.

Only Dirk is concerned,"guys, please. No fighting here."

[ ASSAULT AND TEAMWORK]

After few days of getting used to the ODM gear, the instructors have something else in mind this morning.

"MAGGOTS! Today we will be learning how to be a team! I don't give two shits if you hate your teammates so get used to it!" Shadis shouts and then quickly shout names and their groups.

You got stuck with.

Ritch Grutz, a silent blonde guy with lean body.

Karla Reitch, excitable blonde girl.

Alena Alder, a bored blonde girl.

And you, an athletic blonde.

The instructors must be fucking with you again.

"Now. To kill the titans is to know them. There are three size of titans."

Titans:

- Small: the smallest titans and easy to kill [need 2 successive hits.]
- Medium: Medium sized titans [ need 5 successive hits.]
- Large titans: Large titans [need 7 successive hits.]

"Attacking limbs and crippling them will add advantages when attacking that titan as well as rendering the useless. While most titans are idiots who focus on eating humans, there are few who were abnormal. Whatever you do, get the fuck away from them."

Special traits:

-Aberrant: Most Titans simple walk towards humans and attack them. Some exhibit stranger, harder-to-predict behavior, such as running, leaping, or crawling quickly on all fours. These Titans are a major destabilizing force on the battlefield, as it’s impossible to predict what they’ll do next.

"Don't piss your pants yet! While they can regenerate, they can be killed by slicing their nape. One clean slice will kill them for good."

[Strike to Kill (Execution)]
When you move in for a devastating strike against a Titan, roll +Execution.
You must burn a Hope point to use this move.
On a 10+, you damage the Titan by 2 hits. If it was already damaged and you had a
clear shot at the neck, it is destroyed.
On a 7-9, you damage by 1 hit and possibly destroy the Titan as per 10+, but QM will roll if the titan can counter your team.

Hope/Despair Points: points used by players/QM's that can change the tide of the battle. Only active when in battle and can be gained by passing risky decisions and using specific skills (Hope) or Failing risky rolls (Despair). The points can upgrade your rolls such as treating 7-9 rolls into +10 and so on. Some moves need these points in order to activate it.

While the cadets marches to the training ground on the forest clearing, Karla began to gush out on your team," Oh boy! Are we really going to kill titans? I heard that they used real titans for this exercise! Can't wait!"

"Nah, no way. Too dangerous. It could be another training dummies," Alena counters, causing Karla to frown.

"What about you big guy?" She quickly asks Ritch and the big guy shrugs.

"Oof! What a boring team. What do you think, Smiley?" And finally she asked you.

You shrug too," Dunno. Sounds risky to me. Have you ever seen one? I still remember it in my dreams as they munch and crunch my friends."

It seems the excitable girl began to deflate and mumbles," Sorry... Never seen one before."

And the march became pleasant after that.

---

The forest clearing is beautiful with lots of tree to swing on but this is not a pleasure trip.

The bearded instructor clear his throat," This is team exercise and we spread titan dummies all over the forest but this is not an easy exercise. We have graduates who are willing to help us set up traps to capture you dimwits so better have a plan before going in. The top three teams who subjugates the most titans will have a high grades. Good luck."

"Sir! Yes Sir!" everyone salutes .

Assess the Situation (Awareness)
When you seek to get a better handle on the situation, roll +Awareness.
On a 10+, ask two questions.
On a 7-9, ask one such as (write in if you want):
• What's the safest route out of here?
• How long do we have until the Titans close on us?
• What can I turn to our advantage in this situation?
• What nearby Titan do I truly need to be wary of?

"So? How should we do this?" Karla asks the group.

Scout Ahead
When you use your Maneuver Gear to scout deep into enemy territory,
roll+Agility. On a 10+, you gain information on the number of titans ahead,
along with their positions. On a 7-9, you're spotted, and must head back with
incomplete information or draw their aggression.

>[Unlock Awareness skill]
Here's The Plan
When you take a moment to form a plan towards one specific goal,
roll +Awareness. On a 10+, you successfully work out the safest route
towards success, but the GM will tell you:
• What complication you'll have to overcome on the way.
• What resources are required to carry out the plan.
On a 7-9, you work out a route towards success, but it's going to be very
dangerous. If you can overcome it, though, your plan will still work.

This made Karla furious," Bah! This is how we lose! Ritch, say something!"

"Good luck," The blond says.

Frustrated, Karla screams while you and Alena quickly swing away,"Goddamniit!"

"And missed this opportunity? Nah. I like flying more than thinking," the lazy girl smirks.

The two of you swings around the forest with lightning speed, studying carefully the environment. It seems some squad have already attacked the dummy in group or solo while few got caught in a net made out of heavy rope. Oh boy, they are panicking.and they don't look so good...

It seems there we two kinds of traps: Web traps which they expertly hid the net between trees and punishing careless cadets. Capture traps which are the same heavy net rope that the graduates uses to capture the cadets by ambush or assault.

It's really terrifying tho see them suddenly appeared and disappeared in a flash.

Alena grins at this," They aren't kidding. This is the worse hazing I have ever seen in my life."

" Better this or getting eaten, I guess..." you replied while keeping an eye on the environment.

-North and East's training dummies were still plentiful due to the graduates heavy presence thankfully they did not notice your presence.
- South still have plenty of training dummies and manageable traps but a certain blonde girl with a cold stare is currently hunting the dummies alone. Where the heck is her teammates?
- West have few training dummies as the rest were devastated by this black haired girl with a very scary battle prowess. It's like she lived for battle. Luck team....Oh yeah, almost no traps since she destroyed it.

"Are girls always this scary especially when it comes to flying with sharp swords?" You groan after seeing the black haired girl's rampage.

Alena just let out a mischievous smile," who knows. Let's get back to our group and get ready."

Few more minutes and the both of you finally land in front of the scowling Karla and the ever silent Ritch.

"So? Did you two have fun? I bet you do, especially with those smile, Smiley," The annoyed blonde girl crosses her arms," So what did you get for wasting our valuable time?"

"Calm you tits, little girl. We got the goods," Alena smiles while you have to quickly relay the information before Karla snapped at you.

> +1 advantage for all members.

After a few second of ingesting the information, Karla began urging the team to get moving,"Come on! We already lost the west side. Let's get to the south and get some more points before that Ice Queen take all the points!"

"What about plans?" you asked.

"Fuck the plans! We need to win!" Karla replied with annoyed tone.

The rest of your team kept silent and let the two of you made a decision.

"Alright, Karla. You will have your fun but let's get to the southern forest first, ok?," You sigh. Hopefully this will be a smooth flight.

The girl in question suddenly became ecstatic." Yippee! Let's get going you guys! I can't wait to cut some titans!"

Does this girl have some kind of mood swings sickness or something? Girls are scary...

The rest seems not to be affected by this and so the group swings away to the southern part of the forest.

The forest is a bit quiet, save for few grunts echoing throughout the forest. Bits of rope and destroyed dummies littered the floor while you can see few groups huddling under the heavy rope net.

Then the group saw it. A training dummy carved like a medium sized titan with three sandbags attached to the nape of the neck for their weak point.

" This one is mine!" Karla suddenly jets towards the poor wooden dummy with deadly ferocity.

"Welp, there goes the girl," Alena sighs, quickly follows her. Thankfully, the cool-headed Ritch waited for your command.

Then you saw it. A flickering on the top of the trees! Two graduates with Garrison insignia and the heavy net beside them, waiting to be used.

"Guys. Ambush on our right!" You shout, dashing quickly to your team.

"Left is clear!" Ritcher reports.

Everyone nods and quickly went to the left with Karla as the head of the formation and Alena at the back while the boys covered the two sides.

"Where do we go next? I am sure there are still targets here but it seems the graduates are not happy with that failed ambush," Alena asks.

"Dunno. Don't care. Point me at the nearest target." Karla grins sadistically.

After few swings and dashes, the four of you have reached the border of the eastern forest and it feels like a haunted forest. You can occasionally hear the moaning and groaning of your fellow cadets, hanging on a tree in the rope net.

"I don't like this..." You say, passing another group of failed cadets. this is getting too scary.

Surprisingly it was Ritcher who assures you,"Focus, Julius."

"What the big guy said. At least we know where the traps are and we still have the advantage." Alena calmly add.

Karla became unnaturally quiet, scanning the area.

Klara saw your paranoid face and smirk,"Don't be serious, Smiley. It kinda broke your nickna-"

In split second, she disappeared before you even realized what happened. Alena and Ritcher was the first to notice her disappearance.

" STOP! STOP!" Alena shouts, causing everyone to stop," Where is our tiger? Where is Klara?"

Then you heard her screaming few meter behind you.

" The graduates must've heard that. Too much risk." Ritcher says coldly.

"What? We can't just leave her there! We need to save her!" Alena complains.

With a new plan in sight, the three of you began readying for the high risk rescue except...

"Whoa. That's a nice speech, Smiley. I am really touched." The girl that needs rescuing is actually behind you, clapping quietly with a smile.

"Wait..how the heck?!" you gasp in surprise and her smile became wider.

" I am not some helpless maiden so I hacked the nets quickly before catching up with you guys," She puffs her chest in pride...if there are any.

Deep breath. Deep breath. You need to calm yourself. You are a leader and your squad is depending on you.

Take it easy. Remember when you fly. Remember when you soar on the sky.

Finally, your heartbeat returned to normal and your paranoia receded. Your squad let out a relieved sighs as they saw you returning to your normal self.

"Great to see you snapped out of it, Smiley. What will we do without our glorious leader?" Karla smiles teasingly.

Alena let out a small frown," Hush you. Since you're back and we only have 2 titans subjugated, should we attack that dummy?"

While we only know about their prowess with rumors and stories, our leader's reaction indicate that it is true. Previous formation might suffice but we do not know if they are the only scouts here."

"Yeah. Could've fooled me,Smiley. Let's go!" Klara seems to be really impatient about this but with the sun going down, time is running short.

The quad quickly ditched the harmless-looking dummy titan and went deep inside the forest. Few meter away, you can hear screams coming from where the unmolested titan was. It WAS a fucking trap.

The rest of the squad nodded at you, thankful for your judgement.

The squad quickly passed through the net trap, keeping an eye on the surrounding. Destroyed dummies and trapped cadets littered all over the forest floor with the latter more than the former. Looks like the South and West titans were completely subjugated.

"There!" Ritch shouts, pointing at a lonely titan hiding on a bush. Scanning the area, it seems there are no ambushes.

"Alright! Same as before. Girls attack while boys cove-"

SLASH!

With fear, you saw your target obliterated by a short-haired guy with a stupid haircut. He kept swinging ahead while his teammates are trying to catch up with him. The way he fly... It is as if he is born for it, swinging without any hesitation or fear.

"OI,FUCKHEAD! THAT'S OURS!" Klara shouts and the guy replied with a smug grin, pointing on his direction.

Wait... is he challenging your squad?

"Oh, it's on!" The grin on your face became wider, supported by Karla's own sadistic grin.

"Oh, no..." Alena sighs but accept her fate," At least it's going to be fun."

Only Ritch scowls," how childish..."

The squad quickly swings toward that jerk's direction, deeper into the eastern forest. As you scan the forest, you realized that everything here is untouched by the cadets and plenty of titans as far as the eyes can see.

Ritch seems to be aware of this but he keep a cool head, scanning for traps and such.

After few seconds, Karla shouts at the squad with glee," There they are!" Sure enough you can see three people in front of you swinging quickly through the forest with the jerk on the lead. It seems one of them is missing.

One of the spotted you, shouting something at their own squad, then they all looked at you with surprised expression. The jerk's face still have that annoying smug. It seems they are keeping their distance, unwilling to give their position

"Seems they're not going to let use pass, eh?"

"Looks like it," Alena looks at the team in front of her. Whenever she tried to move past them, they blocked her path.

"What are we gonna do about it, oh glorious leader~" Oh my... Klara knew what you will do and decided to tease you anyway.

"You're cheeky girl, you know that," Aand she gave you an annoying smug," Alright, we will boost ourselves and get face to face with them."

" Not gonna go past em?" Klara retorts and you shake your head.

"Too risky," is your only response.

Ritch decided to chime in,"at least he have a brain."

" Just keep your mouth shut, Ritch," Klara snapped.

Thankfully, Alena came to the rescue," You two need a room or something? We have things to do you know."

They all looked at you now....yeesh," Alright. On my count. Three...Two...One... NOW!"

The squad clicked on the trigger, letting out the suppressed gas from the canister. The speed is great! You can feel the air resistance as you jet through the air, evading some trees while flying forward.

>-1 gas for all members.

The other team was shocked when your squad came face to face with them, with their supposed leader coming close to greet you," Well, if it is Smiley. You got balls coming after me, even after getting rejected by Ice Queen. Just so you know, I don't swing that way."

You almost burst out laughing while your team are holding their anger, focusing on the path," Oh you. Nah, I like your style but not your body. You have great move when flying."

He seems to be surprised by your reaction but slowly becoming amused," So... are we going to have a competition now?"

"Sure," You shrug in mid-air.

The guy grins," Alright, get ready to lose to Jean, Smiley. The first team to get caught lose. Try to survive a bit long-"

"SHIT, IT'S AN AMBUSH!" A guy from his team says before getting caught by a net.

Six graduates with scouts insignia were going straight for both you and Jean's team.

Everyone quickly scatters, focusing on the oncoming danger.

Ritch and Klara dodged the nets beautifully, using the momentum to jump upward and moving past the scouts.

Jean easily evaded the net as if this is nothing to him and kept moving forward, uncaring of his teammates.

Alena slowly let out a dangerous smile, dashing towards the net. Before it can even enveloped her, she spins mid-air and safely land on one of the trees and away from the danger. Pretty risky move but that payed off with one pair of scout stunned by her.

>+1 hope point

You and one of Jean's team member managed to get out of the way in a nick of time, having to use your sword to cut through the blocking branches.

>(-1 blade use for Julius)

Other Jean's teammate, however, was too late to react and got caught in mid-air. You can hear his scream as he was dragged away from his team...Poor guy.

While you whole squad is safe, Jean lost one so this competition is favorable to you now.

After the ambush comes the rewards with four titans sitting silently and few meters apart from each other. Jean already moving to one while the pal is going to the other one.

"Hey, Julius. Why not steal their kills?" Klara says mischievously.

" That could work. The instructor says to kill, not who hit them first," surprisingly Ritch seems to agree.

While you and Alena managed to damage the immobile titan dummy, there's still 1 sandbag left. It seems you need more time training on your execution skill if you want to cause more damage to the titans.

On the other side, Klara and Ritch have mixed results. Jean failed his swings, causing Klara cause initial damage on one of the sandbags while Ritch successfully stole his kill, with Jean's teammate already on the edge.

"Oy! What was that for!" The guy shouted at Ritch and the silent blonde boy let out a nonchalant shrug before moving away.

> 3 titans subjugated.

"Ohohoho, trying to get our kills,eh? As expected from a refugees," Jean taunts, smiling while looking at Klara and your squad.

"Eh, I don't care. Just want to kill titans," Klara shrugged, aiming at her weakened target.

Suddenly, Jean's teammate boosted himself towards your damaged titan with eyes full of anger.

Klara is still dealing with Jean but Ritch is free to command.

As Jean's teammate charges for your titan, Ritch quickly swing behind him and hope that he could stop the futile attempt.

"I've got this! Ritch, get to the last Titan!" You shout as you slashed the last sandbag with Alena behind you. Since your hit connects, Alena quickly disengage and join Ritch's attack, successfully subjugate the titan. Jean's teammate quickly stopped his attempt, cursing as he saw the two titans had fallen.

> 5 titans subjugated

"Screw you ,tiny! This is mi-oops!" Jean's attack failed once again, causing Klara to quickly attack the sandbag. Unfortunately, she could only damaged one bag and left the last one hanging on the nape of the dummy titan.

"You're making me do all the work, you dumbass!" Klara complains, glaring at the annoyed Jean. This is starting to drag out a bit longer than you anticipated, with the sun already lowering itself. You could try to finish the last titan or let Klara do the honor while your squad rest for a bit but it will waste your time.

"We should keep moving," Ritch advises, landing beside you.

Alena follows, landing on your other side," Sure but that girl will be pissed as hell if we leave that kill. Don't want to be her target here so please decide for us, captn' "

You signal your team to stand down and get some rest while Klara and Jean duel it out. Ritch sighs and keep a look out in case there's ambush while you and Alena get some rest.

Klara and Jean are in a showdown, glaring at each other and waiting for the slightest twitch on their opponent's fingers. It was Klara who pull the trigger first, launching herself quickly with the help of the ODM while her opponent curses and chases after her with his natural agility. Sadly for Jean, Klara is more ferocious than he is and destroyed the sandbag rather than slicing it clean. With that, your squad now have 6 titans subjugated.

> 6 titan subjugated

"Look and weep at my skills, dumbo!" The winning girl let out a wide grin, dancing around the loser.

Jean looks very pissed," Keep dancing, shorty. We will see the result at the end." And he left, followed by the disgruntled teammate.

Finally Klara rejoined the group with a smile," Gee, thanks for waiting on me, you guys. I feel really great!"

"Hopefully this childish acts will recedes after we are done being cadets," Ritch says without any emotions but it does not dissuade the happy Klara.

Alenal let out a tired smile," At least someone is having fun."

"Yeah but enough sitting around, the sky is going to get orange at this rate. Let's find our last victim," you stand, cleaning the dusts from your pants.

The squad nod and began moving again.

roll+Agility. On a 10+, you gain information on the number of titans ahead, along with their positions. On a 7-9, you're spotted, and must head back with incomplete information or draw their aggression.

When you watch for the right moment to strike, roll +Awareness.
On a 10+, one nearby ally gains a hope point that they can use against the enemy. On a 7-9, they gain a hope point, but it’s only temporary - they’ll have to recklessly strike right away to exploit it or it will disappear

-Heroic Rescue
When you perform a Desperate Rescue, the usual results are replaced with the following:
• On a 10+, you rescue the ally and escape unharmed.
• On a 7-9, you don’t escape unharmed, but you at least survive. Take some sort of injury as a Despair point.

>Karla Reitch, (Warrior)

-Into The Fray
When you charge ahead of the team to begin a fight with an overwhelming offensive, roll +Execution. On a 10+, you damage a titan without need of a Hope point. If you burn a hope point, you can kill it outright. On a 7-9, your attack still succeeds, but choose one:
• There are more Titans than you thought, and you end up surrounded
• You have to push your body to finish the attack. Take -1 ongoing to Agility.
• You're running out of blades - you'll need to resupply soon. Take "Low on

The forest is slowly getting darker as the Blonde squad searches for their next prey.

You and Alena were sure that there was few dummies clumped up together somewhere around these parts and after few more swinging, you have finally found your target.

Two dummy Titans next to each other in the middle of a small clearing. A perfect prey...or a trap.

"Oh yeah! target acquired! Let's get that tita-"

You quickly interrupts Klara, holding her from dashing to her prey," Wait! This could be a trap. I don't like how easy they look."

Ritch is surprised, quickly scanning the surroundings.

"Julius' right. I can see a green cape poking on that bush. It's another scouts again," Alena sighs, already tired of this exercise.

The squad scans the area while the forest slowly lose its light and the sky slowly turns orange. No time left to search new targets....

Luckily, you found two more ambushes few meters away from the titans and they are looking at you with predatory glare.

Three pair of scout's traps and two titans.

After a short discussion, the plan is set. Alena will be used as bait and you covers her while Klara and Ritch get the titans. Klara seems happy about it and Ritch sees the logic in this plan while Alena just sigh tiredly. That girl really need some energy in her body. The scouts were still keeping their eyes on your squad.

Everyone get into position and waited for your signal,"On three. One...two....GO!"

Alena dashes towards the titans, triggering the trap and cause four pair of scouts coming out of their hiding spots. Even with their experience and speed, they were no match for Alena as she slipped out of their grasps like a slippery ice cubes. This cause one of the pair to lose their net, disengaging for the time being.

After all that chaos, She landed safely on one of the branches and away from the scouts. The girl is a natural at this.

Not wanting to lose the dance, you quickly move dash towards her as she began baiting the scouts again. While this time she doesn't do crazy stuns, she maintained to be a slippery mouse to the two pairs of cats. It feels like she doesn't need you yo be a bait but being cautious is better than being dead.

On the other hands...

"Karla, I got this! Go get the other titan!" Ritch shout as he began to launched himself to the damaged titan. Karla nods and began her assault to the titan beside her. With a fierce slash, the last sandbag got cut open and the subjugation is complete.

With a fresh new target, Karla let out her usual ferocious grin and push herself to the limit again with her blades raised up high," You're MINE!" The blades hit the target and scattered to pieces but the sacrifice was worth it as the three sandbags got completely obliterated.

>8 titans Subjugated.

A few minute after the plan succeeded, a green flare rose to the sky and signal the end of the exercise. Your squad is satisfied, hoping to get first place in this exercise.

"IS THIS THE BEST YOU CAN DO, MAGGOTS? WHY AM I SEEING SHIVERING RATS THAN A PROPER SOLDIERS! IF THIS WAS IN BATTLEFIELD, YOU WILL BE CAUGHT, CHEWED, SPIT OUT, CHEWED AGAIN, THEN VOMITED OUT BECOUSE HOW MUCH OF A TRASH YOU WERE!" Instructor Shadis shouts at the rows of tired cadets. Pretty sure you can see some cadets were in tears.

Baldie always have a stic- OH SHIT! He's staring at your souls and still stare at you for a good five seconds. You might have nightmares about him now...

"But at least some of you were born to be the last protector of humanity!" He continues before reading a paper in front of him, Our winner here is Team Mikasa with 20 titans subjugated. That's a fine number, if I may say so myself. Team Mikasa, get in front."

A stoic girl, a guy similar to Klara but with more rage than sadism, a skittish blonde boy, and a normal guy went to the front. The girl is emotionless to say the least.

" The first loser we have is Reiner team with 14 titans subjugations!" Wow...that's a harsh way to say second place. A sturdy guy with his tall friend approaches the front, followed by the Ice Queen and a normal scared girl. Poor girl...

"But we have a special occasion here for our second loser! It seems Team Ymir and Team Blonde have a tie. Both teams have 8 titans subjugated but who will be the second loser here?"

SO your team was officially named Team Blonde? These instructors were playing you from the beginning!

You glare at the other team. It's the tall girl with freckles and foxy eyes, and her usual companion, the smallest girl in the corps. Ah shit, the tall girl is glaring at you too but with a taunting smirk. Screw you too.

The bearded instructor take Instructor' Kaith's place," It seems someone has amazed the scout's team with their tactics and teamwork. With that, our third place belong to Team Blonde."

Karla almost jumped from happiness. Ritch let out a weary but satisfied smile. Alena yawns but she's smiling again. You, on the other hand, let out your signature smile at the losing team with the tall girl frowning at you.

Taking your place in the front with the other winners, you can see the cadets were looking at you with a newfound respect...except for the scowling Jean on the second row.

" These brave cadets have the potential to be the beacon of hope for humanity. Look at them, learn from them, and beat them with your skill and tactics then you will be on the top 10 someday. DISMISSED!"

The cadets salutes and quickly returned to the barracks, already exhausted from the exercise.

Cadet points is like Harry Potter's house points. Just to see if you can be the top 10.

Skill point is used to get skills BUT you can only get the skills by putting more points in your stats. Eg: you can get agility skill but you can't get execution skill since you have no points there.

>>
>>2563111

Scanning for a seat, you caught yourself staring at the Blonde Team with Karla waving energetically at you. Alena slumps on the table, eating her food at a snail's pace while Ritch is on the opposite side, reading something. Approaching the table, your team greets you with a nod and a smile, except for Karla.

She actually slap your back before you can even sit beside Ritch," Good for you to join us, oh great leader."

"Enough with the leader stuff, Karla. We aren't in a squad, Miss tiger?" You smile, returning the banter.

The girl frowns a bit before grinning," Oh forgive me, glorious leader. I am but a humble tiger... Totally not the one who contributed the most."

Ouch...

Alena suddenly sit up and began patting Karla's hair," Can't say I like the fur. Bit too rough." The fierce girl become mellow and began eating silently with a red face while the rest laughs.

"That was a close match, eh Captn'. If not for my agile form, we won't be in the third place," Alena boasts and put on her tired smug face.

Ritch just shake his head," Well, we all did our part but it was Julius' decision that led us to victory."

" Thanks for your support, Ritch," The silent boy nods and resume reading his book while you deal with the girls," See ladies, my action speaks for itself. It's two on one on one which means I win."

"Wha-?! Not fair! Boys were always chummy at each other," Karla complains, slamming her palm on the table. Few cadets steal a glance at your table but you don't mind.

"Eh. That's fair," Alena replied, laying her head back on the table.

"Oh yeah. Since we're all here, why do you guys join the army?"

Alena was the first to answer,"Cushy jobs. Want to be in the Military Police regiment so I can finally slack off."

"Hey, same here," You and Alena high-five but then realized something...she will be your rival if you want to be in the top ten.

"Oh...I thought you will be in the scouts, Julius. Those skills of yours will be a tremendous help with the scouting, especially planning and decision making," Ritch closes his book, seemingly interested in the discussion.

"How bout you, Ritch? Gonna join us in our struggle to be a Military Police?" You grin, elbowing his side.

"...Sadly no. I have enough of confinement. I want to see what's beyond the wall so the logical thing to do is to join the scouts," He says, seemingly confident of his decision.

Karla chimes in with a grin," I am joining the scouts and be a hero that will save humanity!"

The rest look at each other, seemingly confused by her childish notion.

Karla caught this and began blushing, puffing her cheek," W-what's wrong with being a hero! I can dream too, ya know!"

Your squad laughs while Karla simmers with embarrassment.

"Oh, Karla. You sound like a noble." you said, trying to stop the laughter. She suddenly froze and your squad stopped laughing.

"Uh...Karla. Are you a noble?" You ask, staring at the her blue eyes.

"Umm...no?" And she sucks at lying. You can clearly see the distress in her eyes.

Ritch sighs, placing the book in front of him," It is fine, Karla. I came from Wall Sheena too."

you and Alena look at each other. Two nobles want to be scout? What a life....

"Alena, please tell me you aren't from Wall sheena too..." You plead, hoping that you aren't the only peasant in the team.

"I...I am a noble too. Sorry, Smiley." Her face is full of pity and sympathy, crashing your hope.

Truly.... The Instructors are making your life hell right now.

Then Alena let out a laugh," Pffft,,,,Ahahahaha. I can't believe that work! Nah, i ain't from Sheena. I am from Wall Rose, born and raised in Trost district."

Your life is hell...

"How bout you, Captn' ? From your face, you must be a farmer or something," Alena continues her assault.

You scrunch your face," Rude. I'll have you know, I am from Wall Maria. Saw real titans too and still have a nightmare about it."

Everyone is silent and Ritch was the first to speak," That's not something to be proud of, you know..."

You shrug," To each, his own."

"True," he says, picking up his book and starts reading again.
>>
>>2563768

Everyone resumes eating. A potato slop with bits of meat and vegetables, could be worse. At least this is filling.

After dinner, you resume your inquisition,"So...Any hobby?"

"Reading," Ritch quickly answers while turning the page.

"Sleeping," Alena says as she let out a loud yawn.

Only Karla puffs her chest," I'll have you know. I usually train myself and imagine myself killing titans."

"Is that why you're so bloodthirsty?" You smirk. She's too easy...

She quickly scowl," You don't understand, Julius. Being caged is...Annoying. Choking. Always this. Always that. I want to be free! The only way to do that is killing all titans. Yes. Kill. All titans must die..."

She's starting to scares you, especially when he put on that sadistic smile. Whatever her past is, you really don't want to know...

Then you are saved by the bell...literally.

Cadets quickly place their plates on the counter and went to their barracks.

"Welp, see ya later, guys," Karla left the scene quickly.

"Yeah...I want my sleep. Later, boys" Alena follows.

Ritch looks at you and nod," Best of luck, Julius. See you tomorrow."

And you waves at them with a goodbye.

Entering the Barracks, your roommates were already snoring. The exercise must've drained them.

>Discipline wins

Now for the next part.

Skills (you can spend 1 point for it):

>Acrobatic Stunt [Agility]
When you perform a reckless and difficult stunt during battle, roll +Agility.
Regardless of the result, you gain an Advantage. On a 10+, choose two.
On a 7-9, choose one, but you also draw the attention of your enemies,
who will make attacking you their next priority.
• You wind up in a place safely out of reach of any enemies
• One Titan is disoriented and stops attacking for a moment
• The rush of exhilaration gives you +1 Forward to any roll exploiting or
burning the Advantage gained from this move.

>Here's The Plan [Awareness]
When you take a moment to form a plan towards one specific goal,
roll +Awareness. On a 10+, you successfully work out the safest route
towards success, but the GM will tell you:
• What complication you'll have to overcome on the way.
• What resources are required to carry out the plan.
On a 7-9, you work out a route towards success, but it's going to be very
dangerous. If you can overcome it, though, your plan will still work.

>Spot An Opening [Awareness]
When you watch for the right moment to strike, roll +Awareness.
On a 10+, one nearby ally gains an Hope point they can use against the
enemy. On a 7-9, they gain an Hope point, but it’s only temporary - they’ll
have to recklessly strike right away to exploit it or it will disappear.

>Heroic Rescue [Discipline]
When you perform a Desperate Rescue, the usual results are replaced
with the following:
• On a 10+, you rescue the ally and escape unharmed.
• On a 7-9, you don’t escape unharmed, but you at least survive. Take some
sort of injury as a Disadvantage.
• On a 6-, you give your own life to save theirs.

>We Stand As One [discipline]
When you deliver an inspiring speech to a group before an operation,
each person who listens to you gains +1 Forward to their first roll
during the operation.

>save the point

note: Points can be used only when you're sleeping or choose to learn something.

>>
>>2566036

+1 forward means that they get that +1 for 1 roll only. If you die, you die. That's it. but for the sake of questing: every time you fucked up in the saving, i will feed your friends to the titans
>>
>>2566046
>If you die, you die. That's it.

The aching of your body is something you're not used to.While the worst had passed since day one, you wished for a hot bath to clear your aching body and soul.

The morning exercise passed by quietly with few laps and push-ups. The breakfast was just an assortment of vegetables, no meat or potato.

Splashing some water on your face, the cool liquid refreshed your stamina and awareness. Now then what shou-

"Whoa there, hot stuff. WHere are you goin?" Someone suddenly elbow locked you and keep you on hold while you struggle to get out.

"Don't we have exercise after?" you ask, feeling suspicious.

"What? Nah! It's holiday today. A break day!" He is still grinning.

He looks very, very happy....which is a bit rare for a nervous guy like him. A bit adorable...

The library is at the southern edge of the training ground. A small wooden shack that could only contain at most ten people, with wooden chair and table inside. While the books were placed in a makeshift shelves, there are at least four three shelves filled with history, tactics, and titans. There are only instructions for ODMs as their inner mechanism are a country secret.

Thankfully only few people are here as most cadets prefers physical training than mental.

Suddenly Dirk tug your shirt," C'mon, Julius. There's an empty table there."

Still smiling at the small guy's enthusiasm, you pick a book and sat down beside him. You pick a book about heroes of the country while he picked a book about tactics. At least you and him can swap books after the both of you are done.

While hanging out with Dirk is fun, he is really passionate about the history and culture of this country. He can recall may legends and stories, causing you to be engrossed with it rather than studying the books.

"...and that's how the starts were made," He finished with a sly grin.

You won't believe it," Bullshit! How can stars were born from the souls of dead people? That's just...strange."

"As strange as it is, it might be true," He smirks," Do you have proof that they aren't?"

He got you there, savoring every moment as you tried to think of a theory and get a migraine instead. This fucker is devious...

"Don't think too much about it. You won't be able to sleep, ya know..." Then he went silent for a minute, glancing at you with his usual nervousness.

"What is it?" You sigh

"Well...ummm. How did you get into the third place? To tell you the truth, my team was the first to get caught in the northern section of the forest. It was a total disaster." He says, mumbling on some part that he is insecure of.

But Fasting in a religion is pretty common from Buddhism to even some Christian sects, and in Islam, apparently fasting goes beyond food and drink, they abstain from that along with lying, deceiving, indecent speech, arguing and fighting, as well as lustful thoughts, running a quest with that in mind seems kinda counter productive, besides, isn't anime kinda haram?
Most likely it's for a medical reason, maybe a thorough check up or a medical procedure

"Weight the risks, pick your battles, and for the love of God don't get cornered," You say with a serious tone.

"Wha?" Dirk seems surprised at this and began noting it down.

"Don't fly off recklessly, pay attention to your surroundings, attack only when certain and with back up to watch over and if need be finish the job if you fail, rely on your teammates to cover your weaknesses. At the end of the day going lone wolf might land you more kills but those types tend to burn bright and fizzle out fast in this life. Basically, slow and steady wins the race, or at the very least earns third place." You stopped, letting him catch up. He is writing frantically with a 'bestial' grin on his face, as if this is the best meal of his life.

Then you continue," We picked our battles carefully by avoiding the dummy's being used by the recon team. We also played to our strengths by allowing Karla to operate alone for a time. Lastly we made sure to let Karla to catch up us, keeping our numbers strong. Got it?"

"yep," he finishes, placing his pencil back to its place," You know, Julius. I am lucky to meet a clever guy like you."

You shrug, hiding the swelling pride of yours,"Eh. I learn something before coming here."

By the time you and Dirk left the library, it was already dark and the dinner bell tolls.

>Relationship with Dirk increased from (Roommate) to (Friend)
> Dirk gained +1 Awareness.

Canteen is always full with somber mood and sloppy food. Today's dinner is another simple mashed potato and a stale veggie soup. Can't wait for graduation...

"So..where should we sit?" Dirk appeared on your side.

"Let's find our roommates," Dirk nods at your suggestion and began searching for Lucas and Troja.

After a minute of searching, you only found Troja sitting on the edge of the canteen. Is he trying to be the Ice King or something?

Sitting in front of him without permission, you grin at the annoyed guy," Where's Lucas? Thought you guys were buddy-buddy."

"No, we aren't," Her growls at you and Dirk but doesn't complain about sitting here.

Suddenly Lucan popped beside him, with a grin and smell of sweat," H-hey buddy. Oh! Smiley and Mousy, good to see you both..." The three of you stare suspiciously at the newcomer as he catch his own breath.

After a minute, he grin and pull something out of his jacket. That.... THAT'S A FUCKING MEAT! A smoked pork's thigh, still tied and fresh.

"How the...you know what. Nevermind," Troja quickly shut up as Lucas sliced some meat for him. Then he sliced some more for you and Dirk, putting the 3/4 meat back in his jacket.

It was a good day and the dinner is more filling that the first day here... The four of you chat about training and Instructors before slowly steering the topic to girls.

>+1 for tomorrow's first roll due to good morale.

"I keep tellin' ya. Krista is the cutest! She should be our mascot," Lucas slams the table.

Dirk responds with a matching ferocity," No. She's too kind and won't survive. Mikasa, on the other hand. is stronger and will live. The curves and muscles are just bonus."

"that's cute?! That doesn't even make sense," Lucas groans the looks at you and Troja," Guys, back me up!"

"No, thank you. I already have someone and she...let's just say she can sense this kind of things," Troja backs away from the conversation.

"Wha!? C'mon, we're pals here so spit it out! I know you were glancing at someone in today's training," Lucas grins knowingly.

"How did you...Gah! Fine," Troja rubs his face in frustration and whisper," Ymir."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"W-what? I answered," Troja became flustered, trying to keep his dignity intact by placing his rough persona.

"I am sorry fro pressuring you," lucas pats his shoulder.

The big guy slumps to the table, physically and mentally exhausted,"Just...shut up."

Then the rest look at you knowingly," Smiley, don't make me forced you."

"Yeah, Julius. Tell us," Dirk let out his sly smile," I bet it's the Ice Queen."

You tried hard not to crack under pressure but Lucas' constant prodding and Dirk's puppy eyes eventually break your resolve.

You take a deep breath and let the word out," yes...it's Annie."

" I knew it!" Dirk slaps your back while Lucan groans.

"Seriously? What's with people and muscle girls... Does no one know what cuteness is anymore?" He began to lament on how titans are the cause of the change of taste. Meanwhile, Dirk keeps slapping your back.

Suddenly Lucas climbed the table and stand proudly," HEY ANNIE, JULIUS LIKES Y-"

And you quickly pull him down, shutting his stupid, idiotic mouth with your hands. Fuck, everyone is looking at your table now.

"YEAH, ANNIE. THIS GUY PICKED YOU RATHER THAN KRISTA," Dirk back-stabbed you with a friendly smile. Truly a monster this guy is...

The cadets began to laugh while Troja tries to hold you back from tearing Lucas' head.

Feeling a chill, you glance at the Ice Queen and she gave you her icy glare. "Tch!" is the only respond you hear from her. Oh man, she looks at you like you're a trash now and people are laughing harder.

In your rage and embarrassment, you roar," Am going to get you, Lucaaaaa-"

-Click-

The canteen door slightly opened and everything became silent as a devil peek on the Canteen. Slowly, people return to their seat and finish their food. The deadly gaze lingers for a minute before the door creaked closed but everyone can still feel the danger...

The night ended like any other day.

>But the cadet's more increased. +1 for their first roll.

>Last day before the test

Splashing your face with cold water, this morning might be a bit busier than before. People are buzzing around, trying to get their training before the final test tomorrow.

How long had you been here... you never know but you feel stronger than the first time you're here and you can fly naturally now.

Kicking Luc awake, he grumbles and glare at you before rising up to take a piss. Troja and Dirk are already outside, trying to cram up their own training.

But you...what should you do today?

Library it is.

Also adding Annie to the mix.
>>
>>2573028

Thinking of going to the library again, you put on your uniform, kick the Lucas again (for his pranks), and walk to the library shack.

Throughout the months, you have sweat and bleed with the cadets but you became family with the Blonde Squad. Karla always pull the squad into trouble with her best friend Sasha the potato girl and Ritch always bails everyone out, glaring at them with a stern look. Alena always goes with the flow but she excels in ODM maneuvers, even the risky one. She is par to Jean's Agility but she is lazy at everything else. Ritch...he is more of a hen mother of the group rather than a tactician but you can always count on him to help you up. Lastly, you are the leader of the Blonde Squad and they members do respect you, listening to your orders with sharp discipline. You are proud of them.

> Blonde squad Synergy LVL. 4
>You can now ask them to use their ability.
>Ritch Grutz is now a friend
>Karla Reitch is now a friend
>Alena Alder is now a friend.

Finally, you tried your best to befriend Annie Leonhart, the ice Queen. Every time you greet her, she greets back with a cold stare. At least she tolerates you now as you keep approaching her, fighting her frosty aura with your tenancy. You caught a glimpse of her smiling every now and then, especially while teaching Eren her moves. You tried to asks her to teach you too and she obliges, beating you until you're unconscious. At least you learn something from her.

> Annie 'tolerates' you
> Passive: Hand to hand combat (+1 in hand to hand)

But enough with the flashback. Entering the shack, you are greeted with nervous cadets cramming everything for tomorrow and the library shack is almost full. Lucky for you, your friends were here and already save a seat for you.

"Trying to cram again, Julius?" Ritch shakes his head with disapproval as you nod, sitting down beside him.

"I keep telling him to study but nooo, he prefer flying and eating. I think Alena is influencing him again," Dirk mocks as he finished his book.

RItch seems to agrees with Dirk," That is possible. As much as he is cunning, he is also lazy to boot."

"I am here you know," You huff, picking up a book for squad tactics. As much as they are smart, they sure loves to judge people.

"Need some help?" Dirk asks genuinely.

"No tha-"

Ritch suddenly interrupts," I think he needs it."

They began opening their notebooks and placing them in front of you, full of messy graphs and neat writings. Their smiles might look like angels but they are enjoying your misery....

Passing time with Ritch and Dirk was very enlightning.

You have learned a lot of things from their note and explanation: How a leader should be cool headed and how to make your squad efficient. A leader is nothing without their squad and he must know the condition of their team members.

It's a heavy burden to shoulder but someone must do it....

"And that's all for tomorrow's test...I think,"Dirk became hesitant ," Hey Ritch, what's tomorrow's test?"

"Hmm...I believe it is about testing your prowess," He hums and looks at you," Since I am not aiming for the top 10 and neither is Dirk, are you sure you're doing the right thing, Julius?"

"Well... Who knows. I might surprised you all with my smartness," You grin, causing Ritch to sigh with a small smile.

> Where should you go n-

Creeeak

The door slowly opens and the chatters n the library became quiet. Sadly you're too busy to think of what to do next to noticed what happened. Dirk and Ritch tries to gain your attention as the footsteps are getting closer.

Suddenly, you got pulled by your collar and dragged across the shack until the guy throws you out of the library.

Rubbing your aching ass, you groan," What the big de- Annie?"

The Ice Queen is staring at you with the usual scowl but you noticed a small upward tug on the edge of her lips. Somehow you won't like this...
