Welcome one, welcome all to the college of Dawnmoor, the third college of magic. I will be your QM DawnQm yes the same DawnQm who made Dawn college and disappeared...School happened to say the least, and I haven't had much spare time and with way down the drain in terms of plot. I have decided to make a new quest. This time with a more public one like the ones you see on this board such as mages guild and etc. The premise, you are all newfound students to magic and have made your way to DawnMoor to learn not only the basics but also for the more advanced studies you will be staying here for 8 years going on an adventure to kill a nearby goblin cave one day and trying not to fall asleep in class the other. Good luck, and onto the quest!
-Side note: This game will run on a 1d100 system, and you may be asked to formally keep track of modifiers, abilities, as they are issued out so do bear in mind.

You along with your fellow classmates after being accepted are currently at the gates as a middle aged man with purple robes and a blue staff is currently providing a introduction to the college or academy before you enter. His tone along with his manner and stance suggests that he holds this moment with pride as he welcomes a new batch of students to the academy.
"Welcome students to Dawnmoor, one of the few academies out there in our world of monsters and magic that provides people the ability to not only teach themselves how they can use magic; but also how to use it, when to use it and most importantly." The man says as he holds a finger to his temple trying to make a point, "why you use it" he says for dramatic effect as he continues his introductory speech.
"Now I'm sure that many of you have at least 'some' reason for inquiring through our tower doors and into the academy. Some of you may want to be adventurers later in your life, some want to learn the arcane arts simply because you want to, some of you may be nobles and have been forced to our doors to learn or maybe you have done it of your own free will and I'm sure some of you have been granted the chance to get out of poverty and into somewhere better. " He finishes with a small dramatic pause while some of the more downtrodden students try to hide from the crowd taking a moment to try to brush off the dirt on their clothes utterly failing while doing so.
But before you can even get into our halls and out of the gated courtyard, you have all shown or at least hopefully said to us that you possess some knowledge onto magic. But in case you haven't, I shall do a 'crash course' before you enter our halls." Bringing his staff to bear as four tomes and a sword hit the floor from a nearby bookshelf and fly to the flow waiting to be opened.
>>
>>2543356
The first depicts a few elements, fire, water, stone and wind each hovering around each other occasionally colliding and bouncing off. "This my friends is elementalism, kineticism, element bending or whatever you may call it. It was one of the first types of magic that our world had, I believe that it was a natural phenomenon that occurred when someone was exposed to an elemental or received the gift from one. As the staff member ponders to himself for a minute. "Well, I can't fully remember, nonetheless the idea is that you manipulate the elements from either an arcane focus or from a magical or mundane source. While many of you only know the basics such as how to hold a ball of fire in your hands without burning them I assure you your skills will improve. To provide a general introduction, its the art of bending the elements to your will as a start for those that wish to specialize into it our staff is highly trained on the subject and we are more than willing to show you the ropes to elementalism. So do not worry over it now onto the next one...." The man hesitates as he pokes the book for a moment before showing a bit of a grim face. "Anyone who is particularly afraid of the dark please avert your eyes." As he chants for a minute and plants his staff north of the book.

The second depicts a book with a series of runes in a void the runes float as if possessed by something a student that didn't listen is heard giving a mutter and fainting on the ground in the background. The man sighs and shoves his unoccupied hand onto his face before continuing. "Runic magic is...Well, it's eldritch, to say the least, we found this type when the current dean found this type during one of his 'journeys'" He says with a bit of an emphasis on the journey part. "While odd to this world and having eldritch origins I can assure you that it's more than safe to know about. To wield, well that's another story entirely as can say by one of our senior students going mad and attempting to turn our entire school into some playground for an eldritch god." A few students gasp and turn pale before he continues. "Do not worry, he was detained and is currently treated by one of our deans in the field. Unlike the others, while powerful it does require a more than a bit of mental fortitude as the runes have been shown to slowly drain and sap the will of the wielders. Until they are nothing more than what happened with the poor man that I told you of a moment ago. Now while those that wish to specialize have already dedicated themselves into it and know of the effects of what I have said. It's just a fair warning to those who haven't yet but wish to delve into runic magic. Mostly it relys on curses, hexes, blasts of magical energy and the manipulation of it. Such as summoning a creature or creating a small totem that follows you with a series of them or simply causing a cascade of magical energy on your foe with nothing but four runes of power." The man says stress visible on his face before walking towards the other.
"But enough of that onto something more respectable in society i suppose. I can assure you the common folk appreciate it as you will once you are injured." He says as he attempts to summon the book open.
>>
>>2543377
>-Op, couldn't prepare a image for this one.
The third is a white tome that after a minute of the dean tapping the book with his staff begrudgingly opens and shows a 3 different motes of white light shining from it. "White magic or theurgy is simply the application of divine magic into arcane spells. This was discovered when one of our more senior students encountered it on their journey. Complex to learn it's the basis of how we are able to have a healing staff on our payroll. Simply it is the type of magic that allows one to heal, conjure sacred fire and provide guidance from the gods. The problem is that the path set is one that one must be stoic to always learn so it makes learning the general spells that we teach here a bit harder, to say the least. Along with a ritual that one must perform to steal power from the divine it is one that if mastered can allow one to blend the divine and the arcane into one form. One that many like me are slightly jealous of now onto the next one."

The floating sword floats for a minute before the member taps it with his staff and small tiny inscriptions upon to sword glow as if activated for a scroll yet not fading. "This is more of a technique, to say the least, but with runic magic being a thing witch hunters have hounded our backs for the past century and this is the newest school that we have. Null magic is simply the practice of being able to augment yourself with the ability to deflect or absorb magic in addition to imbuing your weapon the ability to strike with arcane energy. Usually, it requires imprinting such as the ones you see here." He taps the hilt before it glows with a null circle for a moment and with a dull thud shuts the other four books. "Usually it does that, popular among witch hunters we have allowed this type of practice to be performed within the school. Sadly it's one of the hardest to learn and master requiring..." The man audibly shivers as he makes a face of disgust as he says the word. "Martial exercise." Saying it as one may say a racial obscenity towards a non human. "I do hope not many of you will be practicing it this year as we only have a few instructors this year and there all witch hunters now onto something more respectable" As he marches towards the last one with a sense of pride and power.

"Lastly and most importantly we have the general stuff, you know the ability to summon a bolt of lightning from your hands one minute and later when you're at home enchant a sword with the properties of fire. A favorite of mine everyone will be learning from this type of school. The name for it is simply wizardry, we don't really know what to call it apart from that as it was the first type of magic that the first magic users invented. You will all at least gain some minor profiency in enchanting, brewing potions, summoning forth a creature to your beck and call and etc. Wizardry is simply the art of going beyond from summoning a familiar to summoning a creature to your beck and call and most importantly 'borrowing' from the other schools of magic." He says with a bit of a wink as he makes a gesture and a runic symbol appears on a outstretched hand before he closes it and the rune puffs away in a cloud of dust. Sadly the school doesn't allow me to go much into it so it will stay like that for now." The man says with a sigh as a summons a chair and sits in it before he continuous onto the next part of the introduction.
>>
>>2543398
"Now with that out of the way, the school has sadly only allowed either demi-humans humans. Such as those with draconic features such as scales, eyes those who do often see themselves taking more aspects of their draconic ancestors let me say it is amusing when a student has to pardon himself as he experiences another feature begin to take form. Then we have those with animal features, ears, canines, the works to say the last. Usually, many students read to many tomes on animal folk and decide to imbibe a potion that grows them these features. Personally not for me. Then we have humans, I am one, and you are all one in some way so I do not have to explain. So come on up, tell us who you are and where you come from. And also please try to keep your title less than 8 words also for those commoners and burgers do not worry I promise under my protection at least for now you will not be under harm so don't try to hide it your clothes and well manner betray you so no worries..." The faculty member looks around for a moment as if he is trying to remember something for a minute before remembering.
"Oh yes!" He says snapping his fingers, "my name Is Lenoy Lockwood for those that have been wondering. Now, who would like to go first!"

>Provide a bit of a introduction to your char, if there a demi human or not along with any features such as draconian or bestial, their class in society, such as if there family was merchants, high class nobles, peasants and most importantly what type of class of magic know.

Jay walks up, looking almost like a boy in a dress. She is holding a small cloth toy shaped like a man in plate. "I am a tailor, my parents were well sought after. I already know a bit of runic magic." She has the doll dance to demonstrate then returns to the crowd.

“Runic eh? Respectable at the least although I do hope you know what your gonna put yourself through later. Also a cloth hand servant? Good for you for getting a headstart on things young ma- er wom- mage yeah let’s go with that.” Lenoy finishes with a worried look as he tried to figure out jays gender. Before gesturing and summoning a rack of various tomes, grimoires, focuses and etc.
“Now do you prefer a grimoire or focus? I believe those who practice those who practice prefer a grimoire if they want to see the more academical side and a focus is for those that want to blast their enemies. You can do the same it’s just that one has a benefit towards the other.”

Runic: apprentice
Currently at your level you only know the very basics along with a few runes such as “harm”, “weaken” and “distance” to specify your spell.
An example would be the word “harm” to blast someone with a blast of magical energy and the rune “weaken” to try to weakens someone’s physical strength.
Later example could be “harm” “ball ” and “fire” to produce a fireball
You can only use one word per spell as of the moment at your profoency although you will learn more later.
In addition you have a hand servant which you can manipulate to do basic small tasks such as picking up a small object or etc although you have to always use a hand yo channel through the doll and use it.

Sasha Viola is a rather impressive specimen of the human form. Standing at a disturbingly tall 6ft6 with brown eyes and golden long hair.

Her body is noticeably rather strong looking. Toned muscles clear to see and a bountiful chest. Scars noticeably litter her body the occasional bandage sticking out from under her clothing most notable on her hands being covered.

A small smile on her lips as she walks about. Fascinated certainly a heavy leather and fur parka of some sort around her with matching shoes and pants.

This 19 year old woman certainly looks strong to say the least and its obvious that she's been in more then a few scuffles. She has a bit of a positive reputation in the frozen north she is from.

"Yes that's...that's a lot more complicated then I ever thought it would be. But I think I'm ready to begin it's Sasha Viola your having a good day yes?"

“I was hoping that we would get only a handful but what the school says I must obey.” Lenoy with a gesture brings forth a small array of simple weapons ranging from crossbows, bows, maces, war hammers, axes and their hand counterparts to swords and rapiers
“Choose your weapon and please keep it held safely we don’t want another student shooting themselves in the foot. In addition are you more of a dexterous trying to dodge the bolts of magic or are you more willing to to charge in and apprehend them?” As he looks at the two students, dismay and unpleasantness evident on his face

Null magic:
Currently you are very dependent on enchanted arms and armor.
Sadly you have none or even know any of the techniques that one may bring that power to field so you are somewhat mundane as of the moment in magical terms.

Null soul; although mundane for the moment you do possesses a small talent unique to null users. A passive ablity that your mind can differentiate an illusion from reality when examining it closely or being unaffected by charm spells.
Roll a 1d100 when trying to discern a possible illusion from reality on a 85+ you identify the illusion as a illusion and are unaffected by it physically although visually you can still be affected. On a 90+ when being affected by a charm you deny its effects.
This can later extend to spells or any magical power with training and be more reliable later in your years.
Basic martial training: you gain a +5 when attacking or using weapons offensively

[i]Aideen had almost been too paralyzed to step up immediately, considering the... 'colorful' display of people before her. Having disregarded her thoughts however, she kept on a plain, stoic expression, letting none of her thoughts be apparent. If this was to be her life, she will have to win the favour of these people to make her stay in this institute and possibly her future career as pleasant as possible.

The young woman, with her red hair and freckles on an otherwise bright white skin, was an paragon of her home isles in the north. She's wearing an expensive tailored dress showing off a coat of arms depicting a thorny vine bearing a fruit in the shape of heart.

A figure steps forward who appears normal but...he radiated the strangest sense of unease. Like something wasn't 'quite' right about him. He was garbed in layers of bandages and cloth all carefully inscribed with glyphs.

"Mordred is my name and I hail from the Forsaken Wastelands. My family was one of warriors and magi. One of many that squabbles constantly overpower/possession of the barren yet twisted lands rich in horrors along with riches."

"Please excuse me of my...unusual garb but its a necessity of survival back home. Everyone learns a bit about magic and runes if you wanna live for very long. Even the nasty breed of witch hunters that my homeland breeds have to know a bit."

"As for the kind of magic I know..." Puts down a large box he was carrying on his back and opens it. Out clambers humanoid puppet whose eyes glow with strange zeal and it shudders strangely before bowing. After which it returns to the box.

"I know I'm typical knowing mostly wizardry and I'm particularly good at the use of Possession Puppets. They serve as containers to summoned beings providing them with a body and focus. Useful for when you summon weak beings who can't materialize properly or wish to prolong their stay."

Sasha stares at the weapons a bit silently for a few moments. Rubbing the back of her head. Brown eyes staring down upon them before a simple scuffle.

Managing to cough. Her parka coming off simply enough. A Linen white shirt obvious her parka slung over her shoulder.

"...I'm...personally more the type to forego...such bloody things. I prefer a more up close and personal thing that...I can use on...well a person without murdering them yes? Would you happen to have anything like that?"

>>2544824

A blink slow staring at him. A nervous blush and an awkward smile crossing her face. A small wave being given perhaps believing simply enough that they were admiring her? Perhaps she was just trying to diffuse any attention either way her voice held a note of confusion.

"Uh hello you are okay yes?"

"That is good. I am Sasha Viola you have a name as well yes?"

"If you wish to be a hero. You will become one no matter how much hurt you must sustain. One hopes you understand Jay yes?"

Lenoy gives a small bow towards the noble before he starts talking.
"Noble eh? I am going to assume that you don't really need a arcane focus. There a 'bit' more effective than the beginner equipment that we hand out here. Although I have seen a few student blast off their hand with their families heirloom wand." Lenoy says chuckling to himself as he remembers how a student tried to cast a basic firebolt and ended up burning off the hand holding the focus..

>Describe your inheritaed arcane focus you have inherited or gained. Is it a staff? Ring? Wand? Or maybe it's none of those and you have some mundane academic training in a field of magic.

Lenoy scratches his beard for a moment as he takes in the sight of a dweller from the wastelands and later the magical box. Interesting interesting...I believe we can have you start with wizardry unless you wish to delve into runic." Lenoy says to himself

>Roll 3d6 and 1d4 on starting spells for wizardry.

Wizardry: Unlike other schools wizardry is the art of using set spells or runes combined into an effect. Users often make up for their lack of firepower with their knowledge of arcane or mundane subjects along with specialization in enchanting, alchemy, or artificing.
>---Puppet construct: You have constructed a small construct that aids you although taking a larger form than the dolls the runic users do and using physical rather than magical force.
As for the moment you must be constantly concentrating the link between you and the puppet. If you are harmed there is a chance that your concentration can be broken potentially releasing the spirit within.

"Alright, let me just..." Lenoy does a manner of gestures towards the grimoire before a circle envelops the grimoire and it floats towards Jay.
"There should be an element within the book so that you may be able to use some type of elemental attacks. In addition it has a minor enchantment placed on it so that it should help you in the event your magic feedbacks into you. As you hold the book it gives a slight shock to your hands as if trying to judge your intentions or simply your magical ability.
As you are flipping through it looking for the element page lenoy said you find a showing the description of a symbol of a hand holding out a ball of blueish flame you think it may be the fire rune but upon further inspection you find out it's a [aether] the base element runic unfiltered useful for hexes and blasting people with a bolt of raw magic.
>-Gain the [Aether] rune: The first rune discovered among the elemental runes now known. It allowed runic users to bypass creatures with mundane resistances and to injure them and to produce a hex to debilitate them.
>>
>>2545513
Lenoy looks at the parka for a minute before giving a shrug. "At the very least the creatures that you may fave on your 'field trips' shouldent harm you that hard plus the padding on it may in fact blunt a blade or two. Although i do advise upgrading it or simply reproducing it with more exotic and durable materials such as griffin hide or maybe a enchantment placed on it to reinforce it." Lenoy says as he with a gesture slides back the armor rack.

>-Gain(?) Parka/padded armor: Made of layers of soft insulated furs to provide insulation or simply layers upon layers of cloth. Padded armor is one of the more cheaper armors to say the last. Great at resisting the stab of a dagger or the light cut of a shortsword its main drawback is that it's protection does not extend to withstanding the blow of a mace or hammer.

After a brief delay, a short girl, standing at only 5 foot 2 inches walked up. She was quite thin and didn't seem too have much in in terms of muscle, appearing quite lithe. She wore clearly foreign clothing and had not so foreign goggles resting on her head, her hair was tied up and was either dyed or effected by magic as it was pink and her eyes where clearly unnatural as well being red.

She was clearly nervous as she spoke up. "I-I'm I-...Yuki Ito, I am from a family that was once just carpenter's and tailors but has recently become somewhat important and I am mostly skilled in alchemy and the more mundane carpentry but I know a little wizardry...uhn...I h-hope things go well for all of us here." It was easy to tell she wasn't use to this and she probably felt a little awkward at the very least.
>>
A young man strode forward. He was tall (6'2") and slim, with hard limbs and bronze skin. His silvered eyes and sharp features casted a severe gaze — penetrating.

"I was named Nazih by my mother. She was a thuergist, and apprenticed me until I came of age a year ago. My trip was long: I hope to further my education under the instruction of masters in the craft."

Jay throw an arm around Yuki's shoulders and says, "I'm sure it's gonna be great!" her grin just the slightest bit unhinged.
>>
Roice runs into the room frantic, "sorry I'm late!"
He wears a simple pale red tunic and brown pants. His body is slim with a peach-like skin tone. His hair is a reddish brown colour and it covers his forehead and shaved at the sides. He doesn't look like much. But he's there.
"It was quite a walk to get here. And I'm here to study some magic! Why? I'm not too sure yet. I'll figure it out soon but I might as well gain some knowledge!" He walks to an empty seat with a little hop in his step and a smile.
>>
Roice calls out, "I forgot to say I'm planning to study elemental magic!" He looks embarrassed as he rubs his hand on the back of his neck.
>>
With baggy yellow eyes, sickly pale skin, and ripped clothing sutiable only for a peasent, a young man, about 5’10”, steps foward with a hunched back and yawning. With a dead voice, he says, “I’m uh Leo...i think. And I’ll be learning...um...something.” He scratches his messy black hair with his left hand. “Elemental magic...I suppose,” Leo says lethargically, now with both hands in his pockets and hunched over lazily.

Finishes doublechecking his spells after watching the arms rush.

"I don't think I traveled far enough from home," he grumbles as he opens the box. "Arm up I think there is going to be some of kind test given the atmosphere."

In response a first raised up from the box with a middle pointed upward.

"Keep it up, it won't be difficult to replace you with another."

Another fist raises up with its middle finger pointed upward.

"You are aware if we fail you get banished right? So go ahead and try me. You got a lot more to lose then I do."

The two firsts lower and its head pokes out to take a look around. Seeing the situation it dives back down and a ruckus starts to emerge from the box as it shudders.

"Ah should have stuck with the mindless puppets or traditional golems. Never should have listened to that outsider prick about longterm fixes for summoning."

She gives a slightly pained smile as he recognizes her as a noble, merely be the fact that she has an 'of' in her name.
Tirning her smile more friendly she nods and confirms his suspicon, "indeed, Professor." With a gesture she turns his attention to her decollete and the necklace she wears. "I was told that elaborate gestures of a hand-held focus don't make the casting of a spell easier, is that the truth?"

As for mundane training, safety first. Aideen has been taught to sever magical conections and annul a thread, as well has some light healing.

Lenoy looks genuinely surprised as the Theurgist announced himself. Taking a minute to brush off his robe he begins to talk in a rehearsed voice most likely used many many times.
"Well Nazih, on behalf of the staff of wizardry I welcome you to Dawnmoor. If you ever need any implements to commit to your rituals please do not be afraid to ask; I believe Wyrd should have more than a few kits lying around. Now I believe there a few ways that Theurgists can channel their power. Examples can include, a wand and staves, a instrument usually wind or string, and rarely your voice. Do you require a focus theurgist?"

>Please roll 1d6 for ritual this will determine starting abilities and spells, and a 1d8 for starting boon.
>-Please specify what type of focus your char uses, a wand and instruments are good at healing, staves can be used a martial weapon and are good at casting offensive theurgy spells, choir means your spells are always at hand and more easily allow one to transfer boons onto allies.
>>

As you grasp the spell tome and look through you notice two things. It seems that it only has two spells, one where you can summon a lantern a spectral lantern or candle to follow you. In addition looking further you notice that it has the ability to reveal the presence of ghosts the other a spell normally reserved for theurgists one that allows you to harm undead with the bite of a holy attack...spooky
>Gain Spectral lantern: Once summoned it shows a small floating blue lantern that follows you around shedding a pale blue light that reveals the presence of any ghosts...Best not to use at night
>-Radiant scratch: You point towards an undead and recite the incantation of it. A holy claw appears near the undead and strikes at it dealing minor holy damage.

>>2546098
"While you only require the basics of waving your focus many like to incorporate additional gestures into it for dramatic effect. At least with yours you don't need to be holding a focus at all times."

>-Heirloom: Your heirloom lets you ignore having to hold a focus in your hands as it is aligned/attuned towards you. Leaving one of your hands free to hold a shield, weapon. In addition it improves your ability to cast offensive wizard spells...if you had any at the moment.

>----Noble schooling: You can sever the link from a runic user to his or her doll and a wizard to his familiar or construct. A skill normally taught to higher years you have gained at least the basics of how to sever the magical link. +5 to rolls considering this action.
You have also learned the basics of first aid so the chance of failure to attempt to treat a wound or injury is reduced. +5
>---------Noble: You are one of noble lineage, and gain the benefits appropriate to it. Such as the use of your title, money to spend on scrolls to copy down during your spare time, or to upgrade your spell tome and anything in that regard. Take care not to abuse it as many have fallen out of favor due to inner greed or have been severely maimed due to them provoking the ire of their teachers.

Enraged he took it in his hands and broke it spilling it’s powers out into the world. As a theurgist you can access it’s holy powers by performing a ritual.
>-[Holy fire] You summon a ball of fire in your hands and flick it towards a target. Dealing holy damage to the target if it is hit.
>---[Minor regeneration ] You target someone and their wounds slowly begin to regenerate over time although painful it effectiveness cannot be denied.
>Light: A quick flick of your hands and your focus or an object you hold in your hand glows with a soft color of your choice.

"Well Ms. Yuki so long as you perform well here I believe everything should be okay. Although a word of advice when you and your fellow classmates go on your first 'field trip' I suggest leaving the null users in front of you." Lenoy said giving a warm smile as he summoned various magical focuses ranging from crystals, staves, and wands.
"Now choose one that you believe will best suit you, crystals should make it easier to use as a focus when enchanting, a stave can always be used as a club in a pinch plus its a classic, and a wand is always reliable and easy to have around. What do you have in mind Ms. Yuki?"

>Crystals: Makes it easier to enchant objects.

As lenoy hands the grimoire over to Leo he notices that like the same tome that jay carried. It's weight and size is surprisingly light. Upon opening it he finds that the first few pages are inscribed with a few simple runes along with the [Aether] rune.

If Jay's goal was to creep Yuki out more and make her even more nervous, it was working. She tried to speak, saying "I-I...u-uhm...th-thats n-not a g-g-good t-th-thing..." and not being able to say anything else properly.

>>2548235
She was slightly snapped out of it by Lenoy speaking, to which she quickly and somewhat less nervously said "I w-will t-take the c-crystals, those h-help in a-alchemy if I r-remember correctly, th-they do help, r-right?"

(Posting on behalf of Leo):

After receiving the grimoire, Leo skims through the first few pages of what he has. Promptly closing the book, Leo remarks, “huh...neat”, as he covers his mouth with his hand and yawns. Two canine-like teeth (fangs) can be partially seen behind his hand, just as Leo closes his mouth. “Sorry, I’m just really tired”, he says.

Lenoy turns towards Roice with a small grin on his face. "Well Mr. Roice before I delve any further do you believe that elementalism comes natural to you? Or do you require a focus such as a staff?"

>Natural users are living focuses for elementalism, instead of a focus they rely on gestures and inner will to use their magic.
+ Greater mobility, being able to attack while moving.
+ Can overexert yourself to create powerful blasts of energy.
+ Using elementalism is as natural as breathing.
+ Can often improvise and is free form
- Learning other forms of magic is often diffcult

>-Focus users often rely on a magical focus such as stave, or wand with their source being magical arrays placed on their clothing or simply using the elements around them.
+ If given time and the proper training can quickly become a fearsome foe.
+ Can use the elements around them, no exertion required.
- Must remain in range to draw from the surrounding elements.
- Magical arrays must be drawn on clothing ahead of time.

"Ah damn knew it, should have packed a spare suit of armor. You ready in there?" He curses as he kicks the box which stops shaking. After which a now armored and armed possessed puppet clambered out and saluted him in surprisingly professional manner.

"Good now, how are the supplies looking?"

The puppet hands him a dagger before shaking its head and pointing at the box. It then produces several numbers with its hand and finishes with rubbing its fingers together.

"...Okay, we're broke, low of supplies and this really the ONLY other weapon?" Modred asks raising up the dagger. " Broke enough to send a letter for more money or sell something exotic from home?"

In response, the puppet shrugged.

"...Ah right would take awhile for the letter to get there and would need to find shops interested in exotic materials or artifacts. Guess I'll be making a homemade spear again. At least this time I have an actual dagger and don't have to sharpen stone. Now I just gotta find myself a good long stick. Already got the rope."

"Sure it is. Look, I'm upfront about the voice in my head, it scarcely effects my behavior and I like you so even if it decides to get insistent about me stabbing you I'd never do so. I doubt it would though, seems to like you too. I'm Jay Tailor by the way, if you want I could probably make you something nice, how's that sound?" The smile seems a bit more natural now.
>>
>>2548783

Yuki seemed to calm down a bit more, although that wasn't to say she was still worried about Jay, after all, it wasn't exactly natural to have a voice in your head, but she was at least calm enough to stop stuttering. She thought about asking her about the voice for a second before deciding that it would be rude to ask such a thing. After a little bit of thought she spoke. "Okay...If you are sure, I'll trust you...I'm It-... Yuki Ito, although you probably...erm...you certainty did...hear that...I'm just repeating myself now...Sorry..." Yuki remained silent for about ten seconds before continuing. "I uhm...would like that, although you don't have to if you don't have the time..."

To at least be able to run away. I think it would be expecting too much to be able to fight without it. To be honest, though I don't like fighting with just my fists either., but if it would make you feel better a nice solid club can go a long way. Know how to carve the right glyphs, a couple enchantments, and you can even turn into a particularly solid albeit crude wand! Of course, a staff is also possible but you'll obviously need a longer stick. You learn how to make them and you'll be all set."

"...Ah I should have learned how to make some instead of focusing on how to make stupid puppet bodies. Would have been so helpful."

"Sorry to intrude but uh...where do we sign up for what classes exactly? Does the school really hand out basic equipment for free and where are the dorms? I don't mind roughing it if I have to but I haven't enjoyed a bed in weeks. It was a very long road to get here."
>>
>>2548911
"Simply wait a bit more Mr. Mordred and I promise you that you can get you situated with uniform, dorm and all. I am sure the school can furnish you with a focus that you can wield your magic with." Lenoy says as he summoned a small set of magical focuses. "Take your pick."

>Crystals: Makes it easier to enchant objects.

>Staff: A classic and makes your spells hit a little bit harder.

>Wand: Always reliable and easy to carry.

"Oh yes and if your wondering why are we simply giving these away." Lenoy said as he slowly turned one of the crystals towards him and looked into it. "Simple, you have all proven yourselves to be quite talented with magic. Dawnmoor has vetted most if not all of you already and have found you all quite talented in the magical field. So providing you all with the basic equipment and necessities for the year is more than worth it. As for your classes, simply wait for now Mr. Mordred; after we we get everyone situated with their tools and implements I shall take you through the school and show you were you will be staying, where your classes lessons shall take place in and where to go in the event of a mad archmage roaming the campus....."

My homeland is commonly seen by outsiders as a toxic wasteland full of death, monsters, and criminals. But it is so much more than that. At least in terms of wealth, knowledge, and possibility. Strange ruins full of long-forgotten secrets, twisted landscapes seemingly from another world, outsiders commonly stalk the lands with the monsters with some of each not even being surprisingly friendly, and exotic things rare everywhere else but common there."

"Of course it is a very dangerous place to live. Surviving is no small feat and normal resources are quite rare there. We wear strange garbs covered in spells and glyphs to protect ourselves from the environment. Armor to protect ourselves from the dangers there. Weapons to fight back. The only people I saw there walking around without protection are Null users. Even they were often smart enough to wear armor and keep weapons at the ready."

"As for my home and family. I come from City of Lost Souls otherwise known as Sanctum City. Actually a large ruined city deep in the wastes of unknown origins. Its only been partially resettled much less explored and it's very hard to find. For it seems to...wander within the wastes. Yet its easily found by those who are lost or follow the strange mirages of ruins."

"My family itself is the notorious Clan Dreadmaw which fights, survives, explores, travels, and trade. Really though they just like to wander the wastes and partying on the corpses of defeat after living another day. In the time she waits she makes mental notes of the present people, and thinks about how they are to will have to be abroached. As a matter of respect, the first step was to memorize their names. As a matter of disrespect she does so by handing out nicknames inside her head.
Yuki the jumpy, Mordred the melodramatic, and Jay the jester.
She cant help but smile genuinely at Mordreds theatric depiction of his homeland. The 'wretched wastes' which only outsiders see as 'wretched wastes', and 'otherworldly landscapes' as if he hadn't grown up with them and was used to it. Of course he wants to depict his homeland as a great place, Aideen is no different, but Mordred almost sounded like he was about to sell a trip there, wanting to catch as many people to these mystical lands as possible.
Jay... she cant quite figure out. Was she truely unhinged or merely pretending to be for comedic effect? The impression isn't quite a positive one. It could be in good fun, but Yuki might feel bullied if her comfort zone is constantly being challenged.

The more you describe your char or give them some iconic trait the more the chance they may gain it. An example being armstrong gaining the [Foolhardy] Trait and gaining a +10 to fear checks.
Although your more than welcome I suppose to take a major flaw such as Sir. Black lung here to gain a bit of a head start on your magic career.

Lenoy looked at Coal with a hint of pity on his face as he waited for him to regain his breathe.
"It's more than fine Mr. Coal, and welcome to Dawnmoor where we hope to provide you with a place to call home and to train your magic in for the duration of your years here. Now before i proceed any further do you find elementalism natural to you or do you find yourself having to grasp a focus to perform your magic?"

A focus user can reliably create effective blasts of the elements ranging from javelins and structures of stone, slicing blades of winds at the enemy and blasts of fire.
A natural user can however improvise such as breathing fire, attempting to create a blade made of stone or shield, and trying to fly with air magic at the cost of exhaustion over time.

Rules for the two of you on focus and natural users below.

A Focus user rely’s on their self made arrays using pigments to create visible arrays on their clothing which provide them the power to use their magic. In addition they can [Channel] which allows them to improve their spells by gathering nearby surrounding elements to fuel their spells at the risk of getting magical feedback which can cause physical harm to them.
Example: Stahl is a apprentice fire user and wishes to channel his surroundings while his party holds off a mob of goblins. He performs this for three turns before casts the spell, when he does he rolls well and it creates a worthy fireball and incinerates most of the goblins that are caught within the blast. Normally if he did it without channeling he would simply create a orb of fire.
Example 2: Stahl now having taken the time to learn a different element [earth] wishes to tear down a section of the wall without the use of channeling. He rolls poorly and only manages to tear down a few bricks.

Natural users rely on their own willpower and gestures to unleash their magic. As living focuses they can use themselves as part of their magic enabling them to breathe fire, turn their arm into a stone shield and many more. While not being able to channel they can [Overcast] and increase the potency at the cost of physical fatigue. They can still do blasts of stone, and orbs of fire but it’s less effective compared to a focus user.
Example: Cellicia wants to wield create a stone sword out of scratch as a kobold warrior nears her, while normally she would have to either roll well or she could [overcast] to in this case increase the quality of the sword. Which she does, but rolls poorly as a wave of fatigue washes over as she completes her spell.
Example 2: Cellicia now a air user wishes to try to get some extra lift to reach a high ledge normally out of reach. Taking a moment she focuses herself and attempts to cast the spell and rolls well as she leaps she manages to lift herself the extra few feet reaching the ledge.

"Yes, I am, Miss Velde. The pleasure is all mine." Aideen returns a pleasant smile and curtsy to Kaitha. "You must know I've had strong consideration for theurgy as well. I carry a great admiration for the craft, but alas," she touches her necklace, "fate chose a different path for me."

She turns to the others. "Miss Tailor wouldn't let the chance slip to leave an impression, but let me introduce you to Mordred Dreadmaw and Yuki Ito."

Roice looks at the large guy. "Hey Strongarm, how did you manage to get so big? I've been trying different regimens but they haven't worked. What's your secret?" Roice looks intrigued.

Leo leaves Roice and walks over to Nazih. From behind, Leo puts his hand on Nazih’s shoulder. “Hello there”, Leo says creepily, though unintentionally.

"I eat meat, apart from that it is natural for my kind, a feeble tiger wouldn't survive a month."

"Believe it or not but my dad was twice as strong as me and a foot taller, there was no man who could best him in a duel. Didn't stop fools from trying, and being sent home wounded."
>>
>>2552680
Nazih continued to examine the procession before him, deigning to not turn toward the foreigner.

"Make a habit of approaching those who you would make an acquaintance with from the front, strigoi. I would have branded you a coward."
>>
Roice' eyes lit up, "That's actually impressive! Any cool stories about your dad?" He says with a smile. :D
>>
>>2552701
Shocked to see that Nazih didn’t slap him, Leo responds with a much lighter tone. “I prefer taking the back entrances always. The reactions of people have always interested me, you see. In any case, I am sorry. They call me Leo,” as he moves to the front of Nazih and gestures with a friendly wave and smile, “pleased to make your acquaintance.”

Switching to a more relaxed tone Leo says,”there is an abundance of eccentric and...weird people here. Yet, you seem the odd one out. I take it your silence is a form of caution?”
>>
>>2552709
"There was this one time an ogre settled nearby and pestered local communities, he became a legend after slaying it, our people called him Ogrefist. The name even reached the nearby human villages."

He paused.

"Once he even went on a journey to defeat a dragon, but returned empty handed. He told us that no amount of strength can overcome a dragon."
>>
>>2552727
Nazih offered the young man a welcoming smile.

"Although many are unaware, words are powerful. I do not use them so wastefully.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, Leo. Thank you for your apology."

Nazih bowed his head in greeting.
>>
>>2552739
Leo chuckles a bit before facing the interaction between Roice and Strongarm. With curiosity in his voice, Leo asks Nazih, “then perhaps a man of your keen eye and observation can tell me what you think about those two — that David and Goliath show over there.” Continuing the question, Leo adds in a yawn and remarks, “Eccentric people are the bane of my existence, but those two seem to be worth talking to.”
>>
>>2552729
"Dragons...I've only heard those in legend... have you ever seen one?"
>>
>>2552781
"If eccentric people are a bane of your existence, then you must be a bane unto yourself, Leo," Nazih with a raise of his brow.

"As for the two men, one is proud of his father and the other is . . . interested to improve himself. I respect both sentiments.

"Lead the way Leo of Back Entrances."
>>
>>2552807
“Oi,” Leo says annoyed, to which he then laughs at. “Heh, right away your highness,” he says with a bow. Leo then walks towards Roice and Strongarm and exchanges greetings with them. “Greetings Golia—ahem, Strongarm. I see you’ve met the Fruitcake. Careful not to let him take you to an alleyway, Strongarm,” Leo says laughing. Patting Roice on the shoulder, Leo says “a pleasure to speak again, Roice. Don’t mind my crude humor. It’s the only thing keeping me alive.”

Nazih nudged crude young man.

"One day, it'll be what will end your life as well," he warned.

"Elementalist, Null magic novice," Nazih said and bowed by way of greeting.

Oops I forgot to list the strengths and weaknesses here they are

Strengths:
Magical Formations
Minion Control
Strong Will(Growing up in the wastes will do that to you)
Strange Charisma(he gets along with the unusual beings and has weirdest friends)
Survivalist

Weaknesses
When he fails at alchemy it's spectacular.

Cautious Caster(he doesn't like use magic quickly to avoid fuckups and has a hard time being hasty with it.)

Hazard Aura(as a native to the wastes it rubs off on them. So that even if they leave they still need to take precautions. Not to protect themselves from the new environment but instead to protect it from them.) Even so, they still give off that strange aura.

Mutated Body(Those who stay in the wastes too long are prone to mutations. Especially so if you're born there.) Fears prosecution because of it.

Despised by Nature(Ever since he left home nature realizes he doesn't 'quite' belong. It also finally explained why he difficult time with elementalism and suck hard at nature magic)

"A pleasure to meet you. Don't mind the strange outfit it is an unfortunate precaution to contain taint from the wastes. Feel free to ignore the puppet unless it picks a fight with another ghost. In which case move out of the way and prepare to duck. Yes, it's intelligent it just can't talk but it can write if you understand its language."

The puppet despite seemingly to be losing against no one in particular. Took the time to wave as it continued to struggle against absolutely nothing at all.

"I have...definitely one of the nastiest creatures you can possibly encounter in the Wastes. I got lucky it was youngling and not an adult or gods forbid an Ancient. It was a true dragon even and not one of their bestial cousins," interjected Mordred nervously who approached after hearing the subject of dragons brought up.

"I found it digging up some gems and seeing that it was distracted I obviously didn't stick around. Didn't wanna find out if it was hungry or not. Though in the wastes it is said if you survive seeing a true dragon then you are blessed with great fortune. Which was true as it turned out. Thanks to that dragon sighting in a panic I stumbled into an ancient lost ruin. One that contained mysterious knowledge about golems that are not golems nor puppets that are not puppets either. Too bad I wasn't able to understand most of it and going back there again is very risky given it's in dragon turf now."

Kaitha looked on at the necklace admiring it's beauty and fine craftsmanship, she's never seen one like this up close before, quickly glancing at the other elegant and probably expensive things adorning Aideen's person she becomes slightly flustered. It was then she realized that she had been staring perhaps a few seconds too long.

She turns somewhat abruptly to the others in the group and gives a slight bow to try and give her time to regain her composure "N-nice to meet you!" As she raises her head her smile returns "I hope we can all get along."

"Oh... I'll keep that in mind." Kaitha replies looking over a little worridly at the puppet returning it's wave.

Coal sits up at the mention of dragons.

"While digging we'ed find giant bones from the Ancients. The diggers would fight over them because they sell very well in the blac- I mean ahh they'd send them to the Mayor's office to be appraised they are very good for armour and weapons plus they're worth their weight in gold."

Coal then gets up and offers a handshake to Mordred and Strongarm.

"Nice to meet you guys"

"You don't need to fear the puppet. Apparently, this place is a hell of a lot better than his old home. Why else would it choose to stay?" Consoles Mordred.

The puppet nods in agreement when it unleashes a strange move that results in a tiny gust of wind that quickly pitters out. Resulting in the puppet kicking a wall and jumping in anger as it thrashes about.

"How many times do I have to tell you vessel can keep you here but it's not strong enough to bring out your power. So unless you wanna banish yourself back home by breaking the vessel stop pushing it," reminds Mordred.

The puppet actually listens and stops thrashing. Instead, it starts to practice its swings.

>>2554321

"Aye a pleasure, I guess that's not a proper Dragon Graveyard. For some reason, they don't care about their dead until you try to steal from a dragon graveyard. If the newly awakened undead dragons don't kill you that is the living ones will. My people learned that one the hard way. Some adventurers discovered a dragon graveyard hidden somewhere in the wastes. Thought they stuck it rich until the dead dragons started animating all around them. The few who survived fled but were chased down by a very pissed living dragon who somehow knew. It torched entire cities while hunting them down."

"After that, my people knew that if you wanted dragon parts it's best you rip it from a freshly killed corpse. They don't care that way the strange creatures. They don't care if you desecrate a dragon corpse so long as it's outside a dragon graveyard."

"It's strange to hear that dragons are a rarity out here. Dragons aren't exactly common back home but they are not by any means very rare. Dragons bones though I heard the older the dragon it is the stronger it is hence valuable. Meaning those miners got ripped big time if they really did come from an Ancient."

Lenoy looked out over to the students now armed with wands, grimoires, focuses and arms and armor with a smile on his face. "Now I do believe that you look a little more like students, well at the very least you are armed like students. " Giving a chuckle to himself as he approached the gate that led to the inside of Dawnmoor "I do believe that it's time that I lead you inside to Dawnmoor," Walking over to the warded gate where he started to tap some of the runes with his staff.
"Now dawnmoor is a bit more or less an oddity in my opinion; built near a grand fey tree it grants the academy more than suffice location to place the wards that surround the school. Oh, don't be wary as long as you don't do anything stupid like say mess with the alarm runes you should be fine. See If I recall that is the reason why we stopped allowing servants into the school. They would often find themselves poking at an obvious warding rune and would explode. No matter how many times we told them, most of the times they would think 'oh if I take a chisel and mess with this obviously large and ornate rune everything will be fine right?'
"No, everything will not be fine! Most of the time they would break the seal and would more or less cause a chain reaction between ten or so runes killing them and harming anyone around them. I do believe that is how we lost the arena for a time. It's fixed now but it nearly broke the seal Atticus placed on it and we had to place the school on lockdown for a week. It's a shame really, I had just completed a new summoning circle that would allow students to fight illusionary monsters. Ah, I do believe that it's open now follow me class and we or I can show you around." Lenoy said as he uttered a word of power and opened the gates into dawnmoor.

As Professor Lockwood was done with his speech and the shuffle of cloaks and footsteps mask her voice she speaks up, sightly annoyed to nobody in particular. "I knew we were not allowed to bring servants, but for such a petty reason? Implying we are not able to control them is the same as accusing us of incompetence as masters."

As the students funneled past the gated courtyard and into a section academy itself they were met with the daily life of the higher year students within the academy. Crowds of students shuffling around in the courtyard, grey and white cloaks portraying the uniform of the academy as they idiled around waiting for the next set of classes to begin. Null users adorned in enchanted arms and armor sparred with each other with more than a few theurgists taking bets on who would take first blood or be the first to lose their arm. Wizards and runic users studying in groups as they compared their spell tomes and tried to experiment, some failing, some succeeding and some accidentally summoning a creature where a nearby null user would rush to defeat it. Various students talked and conversed as they prepared for an expedition hosted by their teacher. Student life to say the least.
"Now, try not to familiarize yourself as we will be moving onto where you will be staying at, no it's not the dorms, it's the section for where we place the first years. Now here at dawn, we try our best to separate the years as much as we can. Mostly for safety reasons see, it started back a decade ago when some fourth years decided to play a prank on some first years by summoning an elemental in the halls of their dorms. My god it was something, to say the least, students screaming back and forth as the stone elemental rampaged through the halls. Ever since then the headmaster mandated that the years be separated for the good of them all. Ah now here we are." As he and the students arrived at the door to a hall labeled 'hall for the first years' "Please give me a moment while I prepare the spell class"
Lenoy said as he took out a surprisingly large bag from his robes the shine of crushed diamonds on it as he began a spell which made the diamonds flow out from the bag onto the gaps of the door which started to glow a bright blue before he finished the spell as the blood and color drained from his face a clear sign of manaburn.
"At dawn and luckily due to the gracious funding that we have received you will have noticed that yes it's a lot bigger on the inside than it is on the outside." As he led the students into the lounge of the first years. "Everything here is connected to most of the amenities that you will need I believe, libraries, dorms, classrooms, 'labs' well fewer labs and more rooms that we consider expendable, washrooms and yes baths," Lenoy said with a pained smile as his staff was now adorned with a rune depicting the crest of the school a tome laid open with a staff and sword interlocked.
"Now I do believe that you can take the time to romp around the classrooms, find your dorms, try not to kill yourself etc etc. Now i'm going to meet with atticus, I do believe he is trying to out drink a balrog at the moment!" Lenoy said with a smile as he walked off towards a room labeled 'teachers lounge faint cheering being heard from within.

"Well if a drinking contest is more important than-" she shakes her head, before turning to the others, "Let's find our way around, shall we?" With that she simply heads out to the first door.

As you head down the first door you see you find yourself within a room in the same style of an apothecary's workplace. Mundane unguents lie in small bottles along sectioned parts of the walls, herbs are laid out to dry recently prepared and gathered, tools lie orderly on the counters slightly dusty but new alongside some books their covers adorned with symbols of certain magical herbs or creatures that can be used in potent potions. Cauldrons sit nearby with inscriptions inscribe onto them of figures stirring a pot with steam coming out of it nearby nearby empty metal book stands. The workshop for where students could work on their alchemy on their own spare time.

Yuki glanced at the herbs, tools, books, and cauldrons. While she was excited that she would start learning alchemy soon, she was not going to just start practicing right away, though she would take one of the books and start to read it. Aideen goes through the room, unaware of the names of even half the ingredients, but still, looks to memorize their appearance and where they are stored within the room.
She quickly gives up on the endeavor and walks out again to do the same thing on a grander scale, trying to memorize the layout of the halls and locations of individual rooms.
The facilities to learn should be everything they need, so she doesn't worry about investigating them further. Her worries lie with the washrooms, baths, and dormitories

Moving out of the room, and wandering around the wood floors of the first year 'building' you find yourselves at the bathhouse.Thankfully separated into two different sections for men and women the wood floor eventually gives way to smoothed stone which makes up the floor of the bathhouse in question. A few equipment and armor racks hang by the pools of water, some heated some cool and one tepid. The water brought by what seems to be like a waterfall where it is piped away by unknown means most likely magical. Sections that hold bags of toiletries for the new students without them remain undisturbed as of yet although like the tools slightly dusty.
A glass roof provides natural light to each of the sections with lanterns nearby the walls in the event that is night. Overall something you may expect for a noble or a more private one to say the least.

"..." It took awhile for him to acknowledge a response. So shocked and offended was he.

"I-I of course I can control it. I mean sure there are certain risks but that's why I don't just choose any sorry bastard I summon to inhabit the vessel. Makes keeping it in line so much easier and its part of controlling the risks involved."

"Wish I could say the same about golems. They have reason to be pissed and a big part of their creation is keeping the entity inside safely enslaved. Of course, even so, they still can't completely stop them from going berserk."

"Worse case scenario I don't have to worry about it going berserk. It just won't listen to me for a time and MIGHT be angry enough to turn against me, but that's why I take precautions. Unlike what happens with golems when they kill their creators and go on a rampage."

"Unlike puppets, it can actually think for itself and so long as it doesn't endanger my interests. I don't have much reason to micromanage them. It's a beautiful relationship really. I get their services and they get to vessel to inhabit as well as stay here."

"And well if they don't listen I can just easily send them back and replace them just as easily. After all, I am not stupid enough to NOT include a failsafe. They turn against me it kicks in and they get banished. The puppet becomes lifeless until I stuff it with someone new."

"Ain't that right puppet?" Asks Mordred and the puppet flips him off in response. "You should have seen the one before this guy. He actually turned against me! back before I figured out that many of the most important precautions need to be taken during the Selection process and not after."

"I learned my lesson though. It's mostly about preventive measures and not aftercare. So I vet them and we come to an agreement. The result is well..." the puppet bounces up and down happily while beaming with pride as it points at itself.

"...I'll admit sometimes I ask myself why don't I just stick with golems given all of the bullshit I have to put up with, but then I remind myself of this. At least my minions don't hate my stinking guts and long to murder me at the soonest opportunity in a berserk rampage." The puppet approaches Mordred slapping him on the back and giving a thumbs up to him. Even as his eye twitches.

Picking up one of the nearby books you find that the spine is reinforced with a metal binding the while the title reads "Araphi's guide to the Fuvil moss and other magical herbs." With the first few pages describing of the Fuvil moss, of how it is normally found in fey 'corrupted' areas where a pixie has made their home and how it can be used to make a potent potion that can numb the pain of humanoids.

Dragging your luggage around you thankfully find the wing to the dorms. Victory in sight you walk towards one of the wings assigned to the fairer sex with a slight skip in your step you open the door to it. Discovering that the dorm compares to something a well done adventurer could afford. A heated wood floor with a clean bed and sheets await you along with amenities such as a bathroom,a small study and more await you...Oh and it seems that your dorms will be shared, as the snoring lady lies collapsed on her bed is evident enough. Not even bothering to get out of her armor she lies in bed softly snoring with her ring mail slightly clinking every now and then with a spear with a small sack tied to it lie against the wall. The other bed is free for your taking as is a small chest right below it with a key hanging beside it.

He sure likes the sound of his own voice. And he admits that his previous puppet turned against him, so he doesn't have as much reason to be offended to Aideens question as he ought to be.
"I did not mean to offend." she says, but is somewhat glad that he was. Deeming it to be a sign that he should pride himself with the control over his servants, even though it's quite apparent that they have their own free wills.

Aideen is quite pleased with the bathing facilities, but will have to add her own toiletries to the provided ones.
The dormitories, however, could be an issue. Even if there were clear markings to assign people to rooms, Aideen wouldn't have it. If she would have to share a room with someone, at the very least she should be allowed to pick them freely.
She leaves the sleeping woman be and searches for an empty room, placing her suitcase by the bed and begins to unpack a little, searching for parchment, quill, an inkwell, and a book as hard surface to write on.

Before she leaves she places a small bag on the other bag to make it look claimed as well, only then she heads out to start on a rough floor plan of the confusing architecture.
In the meantime she decides on whom to invite into the room with her.
Kaitha Velde, the Theurgist, seems a good person to ask.
Alternatively Yuki Ito would make for a quiet and agreeable roommate.

Armstrong taking the lead decides to move to the left wing of the crossroads. Willingly you follow and as you come across the second door you open it.
Inside is a surprisingly large workshop with two sections sectioned off one meant more for militaristic side of leather working...and the other a forge. Both sport slightly dusty equipment as seen many times before during your trip to the halls. Sometimes the floor, the handles and even the tools, you hope it doesn't extend to your bed. Nonetheless a armorers and armor smiths workshop is available to you so that's something to smile upon. Yet although it may be stocked with tools and in the armor smiths case plenty of coal both have little to no resources...Odd

It takes you quite a while to find the room of your choice, moving from room to room to find one without a roommate is quite ordeal. Oftentimes most of them are either occupied by two or by one some wave at you with freindliness the other you can feel a spark of hatred rise by the time you enter the room. Eventually, you do manage to find it located somewhere near the distant half of the wing you find a room unoccupied by anyone. Quickly you place your bags to take claim before heading out.

Opening the door you find an odd room around you lay various types of tools and devices you have never seen or even know the purpose along with a few mundane ones. Neat and orderly as of the moment the man dressed in half plate and wearing a bird mask arguing with a theurgist dressed in robes that glow softly blue stand out to you.
"Look I told you the rune of dos won't work this time it bloody well didn't work last time and I doubt it will work this time." The man in the bird masks argues while the one dressed in blue robes imitates scraching a beard before replying.
"But the ring of Dos saved you didn't it. Took me quite a while when you were launched by that beast, almost didnt think there was enough parts of you left to revive." The man in blue replys before they notice you presence.
"Child." The one in blue says, "Which do you think would be sufficient a good offensive to maintain the attackor a backup plan in case things went wrong?"

Upon hearing the question Kaitha stares at the two men, slightly taken aback at being pulled into the conversation. She then replies while looking at the man in the robes "I believe having a suitable backup plan takes precedence." She didn't really have experience on the matter, but it seemed somewhat of a given to her considering the man in the bird mask was still alive and standing.

You take your time to roam the halls mapping the ins and outs of the place. The labs, the baths, the numbers for each of the dorms and a few of the classroom you eventually begin to make yourself a somewhat crude but finished map. Coming across one of the indoor garden's you take a moment to sit down on a bench overlooking a small pond is when tragedy strikes. Looking at the pond for a moment contemplating how the academy can afford much less even create the place where you reside a raven swoops down claws at the ready and poised to strike where it fumbles trying to grab your map before flying off spilling your inkwell on your dress in the process.

"See even the child agrees on it, you oaf! You wouldn't even be here if it weren't for the rune. So put it on your blasted weapon and let us go! We haven't much time left until classes begin and I would prefer having to mentally prepare myself for the event after all teaching with you will be a nightmare." The robed man says with an air of authority over the beaked man. To which he responds by contemplating with himself before coming up with a conclusion.
"I wouldn't even have been in the mess if Atticus hadn't done his bloody job! Attempting to distract the Balrog by using all of the runes in his weapon to attempt to slice off the head was a horrible idea. I mean who even designed such a combination? Attempting to solely use the giant runes as a human without preparation is something only a novice could think of!" The beaked man says while the robed recoils as if he had been struck
"I was the one who designed those runes, you idiot! They saved your hide back during the dungeon of Ovon!"
"Well, maybe your just a bad artific--" The beaked man words are cut off as the theurgist unsheathes a dagger and stabs him in the stomach. Bringing only a mixture of rage and dumbfoundedness to him.
"You dare?!"
"Oh I do dare, BRING IT OLD MAN!" And after the words left his lips a quick and decisive battle was fought between the two with the beaked man drawing a sword and the other magic at his fingertips fought in the workshop as they threw daggers and bolts of aether. Quickly ending as a steel dagger reflected from the theurgists spell and cut through the beaked man defenses landing home in his throat causing him to drop his sword and onto his knees.
"See if you had that rune like we discussed this wouldn't happen now would it." The theurgist says parading over the man as he attempts to remove the dagger from his throat.
"Hmph, you win this time." The man says as he slides the dagger from his throat. "I concede to your point, we shall enchant my sword with the rune of dos like you discussed" As he picks up his sword and places it on the table to do the work.
"Thank you, and thank you, child. This argument would have ended with much more bloodshed if you hadn't come along. My name is Nygar now what brings you to the artificer workshop lass?" The man says as he gives you a soft smile.

Taking a moment you open one of the doors finding yourself standing in a crude training area of sorts. The wood floor giving way to cobblestone stands out the most along with the hastily placed training dummy and practice weapons. It seems at first that this room was simply not given the same care the other rooms had until you notice the summoning circles placed into fenced sections of the room. It seems that Lenoy managed to get his summoning circle

More bloodshed!? She thought to herself, Kaitha was no stranger to seeing wounds from her time helping heal at the church but actually seeing someone have a dagger go into them not once but twice was a completely different experience. "I just arrived here at DawnMoor and was taking a look around and also wondering what exactly this place is" She responds, unsure if it's really okay for everyone to be acting so nonchalantly after what had just happened.

"Oh, and my name is Kaitha Velde, I'm a Theurgist, it's nice to meet you. I assume you're an instructor here?" She then points to the beaked man "Is he really alright?"

Wandering around the halls looking for your fellow students is a bit an ordeal the walls start to curve probably your mind playing tricks on you but considering your in a magical academy you have your doubts on it. Eventually, you manage to find your way to some of your fellow first years mostly wizards as evident by their spell tomes. They seem to be discussing their findings throughout their little adventures throughout the school.
"Did you see the cafeteria?" One says clutching a tome embellished upon it a symbol of the sun.
"I sure did, looks more like a tavern than anything else. You don't think the headmaster was an adventurer?" One says
"Maybe, if he is I do hope he isn't like the one in Bolton. She's a nutter, tried to kill one of her second years after he forgot to bring his staff! A staff! Imagine what she would do if one of them actually messed up!" After the third mutters that sentence the air between drops to a freezing point as you approach them.

You find someone as you ask a few of your fellow students for someone fitting your description. It seems a Ms. Norah will be your best option, although she may be a runic. She isn't that much of a trouble one of them states as they point you in the direction of where your dorms are.
"She should be down that hall and on the sixth door to your right." A woman dressed in a hauberk of mail and without an eye tells you. "She's nice enough, being a runic user and a novice artificer so she should be fine if your willing to dabble in 'that kind of stuff." She says before returning towards her conversation with one of her peers.
Making your way to the dorms is somewhat uneventful you can sometimes hear the frustrated groans of a few as they learn of their new homes for the next year and more than a few cheers.
Coming at the door of the rooms you quickly give it a rasp before a small voice says "come in". Coming in you find a 'wildling' or more a person hailing from the frontier to greet you as your potential roommate. Small idols and trinkets hang beside her bed dedicated to the old gods in some way or fashion.

Nygar takes a look the beaked man before giving a reassuring smile towards Kaitha. "Don't worry ch-" he catches himself for a moment before starting again "don't worry Kaitha, Wards is more than capable of taking a simple dagger to the neck. Although if it will ease your worries one moment." He approaches Wards who is currently inspecting an anvil unbothered by the gaping hole in his neck before he is interrupted by Nygar who with a gesture of his hand mends the wound causing the blood to stop flowing from his neck.
"There we go, and to answer your question. Wards, or well Captain Wards." Nygar says with a bit of a disdain on the word captain. "Is quite a durable man, to say the least, and a simple dagger to the neck could hardly stop him much less him losing an arm," Nygar says before remembering that the shock before kneeling down a bit to get to eye level with Kaitha. " Look." He says as he rubs a tired eye for a moment. "Simply put, this is less a death fight and more akin to two siblings play fighting with each other and to answer your question well yes I'm your teacher on healing for the year." He says giving a small bow towards Kaitha.
"My captain and I have been assigned here on the behalf of the request of the school and it would be an honor to teach you what I have learned during my years up till now. Do you need any help finding your way around here Ch-Kaitha? I am sure I can help you find your way around here. By the old gods when I first came here I thought I would never find my way to the teachers longue much less my way around here." He says before tapping his staff on the ground.
"Plus if you could say yes, It would help me get out of the room with Mr. Beaky." He says giving a gesture towards wards who starts to fish out an ingot of metal out of his bag.

Aideen enjoys the sun shining on her for the little break she takes. Whoever had designed these halls deserves to be slapped. But at least the map, as crude as it was, is coming along well. Later she'll have to take proper measurements to make it in proper proportions. Just as she was watching a fallen leave drift over the pond, lost in thought, a raven chose the map as it's prey.
After it's strike Aideen finds herself full of ink, but at least the map was still in her possession.
The dress however... it was ruined. Ink stains would not come out.
She bites her tongue as to not curse after the bird, only angrily shaking her hand at the beast.
Calm...
Aideen takes a deep breath and holds her fist over her heart, counting down slowly from five before breathing out and opening her hand, as if to symbolically cast away her anger.
„You're the one in control of your emotions, not the other way around“, she whispers her teaching to herself. „These things happen.“
Analyze the situation. Anger is not a constructive emotion. The dress is ruined. And figuring from the wetness she feels, the ink has seeped through her under gown as well. These things can no longer be prevented, they are in the past. She looks around for any potential onlookers and finds nobody who might have observed her waving her fist at the bird. Good, her little outburst of emotion had been private as well, and she hadn't lost face in front of any of her fellow students.
To further minimize any damage to her reputation she'd have to get back to her room without being seen, discard the stained clothes and wash herself in the small private bathroom, and then redress.
Thankfully she has a map and knows the shortest route to her room. And she can hold the mapn in front of the splotch, so nobody will see it unless they observe clearly.
Then she'd have to find the jester. As a tailor she might know how to fix ink stains, but Aideen didn't make herself much hope.
>>
QM allowed me to reach dorm without interference

Aideen closes the door behind her and sinks down. That is not really an experience she likes to repeat. Having to stalk through barely familiar terrain to reach a goal without being spotted. A silly thought in retrospect. As a mage she will be in much more dangerous situations, but her reputation as a noble was important to her as well.
She gives the map a smile. Her own handicraft helped her through this. What was merely meant for convenience had helped her enormously. Maybe she should make a habit of it and draw maps, especially when she indeed is in a dangerous situation.
Yes, that's a good idea.

Before she could forget it she takes more parchment out and writes herself a memo to not forget it.
>finish floor map of Dawn's first-year halls
>acquire books on prospecting and cartography
>inquire tips about judging distances

But now she really needs to get out of her soiled dress. A shame, really. She liked that dress, even wearing it to make a first impression on the other students.
Why did that raven even attack her? It seems to have been going for... the map.
A thought occurs to her. What if it had been someone's familiar who either doesn't want her work to bear fruit, wants the map for himself, or just gets off on the students not finding their way.
Any other bird, especially a magpie, would have probably gone for one of her shiny hairpins.
Anger wells up inside of her again.
Be calm...
Once again she takes a deep breath and holds her fist over her heart, counting down slowly from five before breathing out and casting her anger away. The gesture looking much less dignified, now that she's only in underwear and has traces of ink on her side.
She can't prove anything... yet.
Once again, anger is not an emotion that would help her advance.

She goes to the bathroom to crudely clean herself. She will have to take a bath to feel clean again, but she doesn't know how much time she has before Professor Lockwood would return.
Aideen dresses up, yet again and heads out to find Jay Tailor.

Kaitha felt much more at ease than before and even chuckled at the term "Mr. Beaky" while she thought about Nygar's offer. She was feeling a bit peckish, but there was at least one place she wanted to see before before going to drop off her luggage at her dorm and subsequently heading to the dining hall. She responds, looking at Nygar with a smile "Could you show me where I would be able to find some reading on theurgy and the word of the gods?"

Yuki, who for the past however long it was since she started reading, finally puts the book back and starts exploring the part of the school where she would be living for the next year or so, wandering around and searching for the classes relevant to her and where she would be sleeping once night fell. She honestly would have rather read more but she knew it was in her best interest to find her dorm room and the classes she would be attending among other things so she didn't get lost in the school as she didn't want to be late or become the first student to meet the botched attempt of summoning that was hiding in the school.

As she wandered around she would try and find out were the other students in the school where as it probably wasn't the best to be separated from the group for long.
>>
>>2565744
Aideen looks through the halls, in search of Jay Tailor, but comes across another one of her classmates. „Miss Yuki... Ito.“ She adds the second part of the name. As fas as Aideen remembers the introduction had always included both parts, and as she was unsure which of them were the family name, Aideen might as well use both. Even if Professor Lockwood called her 'Miss Yuki', until Aideen has proper confirmation on what Yuki Ito prefers to be called she'll stick to the full name.
But something else comes to mind with Yuki Ito's introduction. Didn't she say she was of a family of carpenters and tailors? Plus she'd make for a passive roommate. Excellent.
„Might you lend me your ear for a moment?“
>>
>>2566407
wrong name
>>
>>2566407

Yuki, as she wandered around trying to find the others would seem quite relaxed to see one of the people she was looking for and knew that they would be able to help her get to everyone else. However when she said her name and asked her if she was willing to listen she seemed a little confused, mostly at the fact she used her family name along with her personal one. Still she would respond by saying "Of course I would be willing to listen, I'm not exactly in any rush after all. What exactly did you want to tell me?" She was clearly no where near as nervous before, having calmed down significantly while reading, though she was not to say she was no longer free of worry, and was still a bit nervous, but hopefully it would pass soon enough.
>>
>>2569920
Aideen gives her a smile for the confirmation. „There are two things, actually. Both entirely personal issues I hope you will be able to assist me with. The first may be considered rather rude, as I'd like to rely on your professional knowledge. You come from a family of Tailors, yes?” She pauses shortly. “I'm afraid I have had a mishap with some ink just now and was wondering if you might have a tip on how to remove ink stains from textiles?”
It was not easy for her to admit such an awkward situation, but if she wishes to be friends with Yuki Ito, she will have to be honest.
“As for my second request, it appears we can freely choose with whom we cohabitate in our rooms.” Once more she pauses. “I have not known you for long, but I feel at ease with you. As such I would like to invite you to share a room with me for our stay in Dawnmoor."
>>
>>2570008

Yuki listened to everything that Aideen had to say before speaking herself only when she was sure that they had finished talking and were waiting for her. "Its not rude to ask if I can help you, although I have to say I picked up more from the carpentry side than the tailor side. That doesn't mean I don't know how to help, far from it, but first I have to ask if the ink is still fresh or if it has settled into the cloth, as if it's the latter I think you will find yourself having a much harder time trying to remove such a stain. To answer your second question though, maybe, I'm unsure who I would stay with at the moment but you are certainly one who I don't think would be a bad choice to stay with. Although being the only one to offer at the moment I'm probably going to say yes unless anyone else approaches me and asks the same thing." She would say, although she was a bit worried about how sharing a room would work, as she hadn't shared one before in the past, the biggest worry being about privacy. Still she was hopeful that things like that would be accounted for, at least in some regard.
>>
>>2570140
Aideen relaxes sightly at the news that the dress could possibly be saved. "Oh, that's good to hear. So, yes. The stain is still quite fresh, barely half an hour old... Would you show me how to remove it?" Aideen gestures Yuki to follow her and does not start walking until she sees her compliance.
It was not merely a scheme to lure Yuki into her room, but if it would work Aideen would take it.
"And as for our potential cohabitation, I very much respect your decision to weigh your options. It is the smart thing to do, after all." She lets it sink in for a moment before continuing. She needs to share something more personal if she wants to appear sympathetic. "It would make the first time I-" am forced to "-have a roommate. As such I am afraid I cannot properly court you as a roommate either. I do hope candlelight and the scratching of a feather contributing to keeping you up at night will account as my worst behavior." Once more she smiles at Yuki. "I write a lot of letters."
>>
>>2570226

"Alright, in that case there is no time to waste, although I think it might have set in somewhat by now... still, get me some water, a sponge, some untouched paper you don't plan on keeping and that is about it. I have the only other thing that will help. If it's fully set in by now, well I might have some work cut out for me." Yuki would say as she followed Aideen, pausing only for a moment before continuing. "I'm glad you understand about my decision though, or rather indecision. It's also the first time I have had shared a room with another, so it seems we have something in common. I don't think candles or writing will be an issue for me however, but I have to ask what you mean by court... Also I feel it's only fair to say I hope you aren't bothered by the sound of whittling, as I tend to make some small crafts at times, and I do take some requests at times."

"Oh, whittling?", she asks interested. "A handicraft I had wanted to learn at one point, but was quickly forbidden after hurting my fingers... hmmm..?", she slows her pace and takes Yukis hands, "may I?" The question for allowance came after the fact, as Aideen was already investigating Yukis hands for blemishes. "As for courting, its merely the term you use if you want to impress someone to gain their favor. Alternatively, of course, it is used to mean expressing someones romantic interest in the other", she giggles and lets go of Yukis hands again. "But let us make haste, lest the ink sets further."
>>
>>2571051

Yuki was happy that Aideen seemed interested in the kind of work she usually would partake in at times to relax, although she was sad to hear she was forbidden just for accidentally hurting herself. "Yeah, its nice to create something with your own hands, be it a potion or small wooden ashig-... soldier, or a..." Yuki seemed to pause for a moment thinking of the right word to use before she continued speaking "Knight on horseback. Although occasionally I make larger things like small houses and such, along with potions, although I probably will be doing the latter a lot more now that I'm here." Then she noticed what she requested, holding her hand, she was a little confused but thought it wasn't anything much and said "Sure, if you want, I don't mind." letting Aideen take her hand, although, on inspection Aideen would find them to not have any scars or injuries on them, not even looking rough and in general being in good condition one might expect one who didn't do to much rough work would have. "Ah, alright. Though, you don't need to impress me or anything, if you want something like a potion of handcraft just let me know, like how you wish for me to help with making sure your dress doesn't get stained." she would say as she continued with her to the room that she might just be spending her nights in, assuming that Aideen ment the former of the two meanings the word had, and not the latter.
>>
>>2571331
"I would not impose on your kindness and further indebt myself to you." They enter the dorm room. "Not if I cannot return the favor... And maybe you should not either. Offer your services for free, I mean. You don't want people abusing you. And it will give people a wrong impression of what a personalized piece of carving is worth, you wont do your fellow craftspeople justice." Aideen giggles, "but that is the baron in me talking, immediately thinking about goods and their values. Don't let me lecture you if you don't want to."
She gives Yuki a bow as an apology and retrieves the stained dress and under gown. "It is a rather substantial stain, is is not?"
>>
>>2571347

"Oh don't worry, its fine! I don't mind in the slightest, you can take as long as you want, I have all the time in the world. And don't worry, I wont just give away the things I carve for free on a whim, just on request to people who I consider friends, or want to be friends with, but I'm glad you are genuinely concerned." Yuki would say before taking a look at the gown and frowning. "Substantial is an understatement, I believe the ink has set in by now. Which means I'm going to need to use a strong concoction and a small brush to try and get it fully away. I think I have a potion of that sort on me right now, so I just need a brush. Hopefully I don't damage anything, because this is going to be tricky to say the least..."

I mostly studied the four gods, Luverer the god of art and luck, Mordon the god of the moon and the dead, Ovon the god of justice and valor, and Yddgra which is an archfey." He says giggling on the thought of an archfey becoming a god to himself as he walks you over to the library.
"I put a quick alarm ward to notify me in case anyone would find the library. You know just as a way to say congratulations I suppose, Lenoy told me that he would be surprised if anyone found it on their own. and I guess he was right." He says with a bit a of a huff. "Noone has triggered the ward, and I can still feel it's presence so I doubt anyone would have dispelled it already. Now let me tell you a bit of what i know while we walk there." He say's as he begins telling you a bit of what he knows.

>-Post about info on gods coming soon.

These are the four main gods of the world, which most people will know and what Nygar is willing to divulge with you.

Luverer: The god of art and luck she bestowed the art of bardic magic to the high elves as a way to gift them with the means of harness divine magic in his name. He is often portrayed as a fool or bard heading into an unknown direction with little to nothing except his lute by his side. Her theocracy focuses on the joy's of life and how they are meant to be taken with a grain of sugar. With her worshipers often being young men with a penchant for luck or old men able to tell and weave stories of adventurers and travelers exploring and discovering new and unknown lands. Her temples are often bustling theaters that showcase the talents of artists and performers.
Mordon: A necromancer that ascended into the position of the god of the dead and the moon when the previous faded into nothingness. His teachings tell that although the dead may be gone and departed from this world to rest in his halls. They can still be of use to the mortals of the world. Whether it may be as guards or servants that work in duskwill or as a consul of advice from which mortals may be able to divine information from. Yet, to disrespect the dead and to use them for foolish or evil purposes is of an unforgivable heresy one that must be deal with accordingly. His worshipers are often gravediggers or necromancers that wish to know and learn. Temples or shrine dedicated to him are often rare if not seen at all as many are wary of death much less a god dedicated to them. So many simply channel his name into their work.
Ovon: The god of honor and valor, his teachings often relied on battling the endless onslaught of the opposing gods that the daemonic races, the undead, and the heretical god's monsters worshiped. His symbol or teachings often rely on the focus of light and how as long as there will be light to see and a sun to shine that the races of the world will persevere. He is currently worshiped in general by the humans of the world with a heavy reliance on him in Dawnmoor. Who often take his teachings to extreme ends with their priests often charging out of the gates in the event of a siege to earn the favor of their gods.
Yddgra: A ascended archfey, it existed shortly after the cataclysm descending onto the world to preach its teachings to a minority of the wood elves and often the smallfolk of the world that relied on farming to live. Its teachings often rely on one to maintain their peace with nature as the earth shall provide them with what they need if they co-exist with it. Its temples are sacred groves with treants and other fey creatures guarding or as guardians of sorts.

Aideen complies with any instructions Yuki may give, even sacrificing one of her sponges in the process. While they work she speaks up again on the matters of a different topic.
"I have another question to ask, it may being a little bit rude, but I am not familiar with your style of name. Is Yuki your family name or your given name? It feels to me like a given name, but Professor Lockwood called you "Ms. Yuki", using it like a family name. And I know that there are cultural differences between what is a 'first' and what is a 'last' name."

Kaitha listened to Nygar as they walked through the halls, while she knew most of what he was saying there were still some things she didn't know and she didn't mind hearing some of it again. Throughout the conversation she would ask questions and confirm specific details as well as give comments of her own. She was enjoying their talk and felt confident she was going to learn a lot from his teachings in the coming year.

As their steps, and conversation, echoed throughout the halls Kaitha thought about the temple in her hometown. Since there wasn't any other places of worship in the area the temple, like herself, wasn't dedicated to a single god but instead sought to give everyone a chance to worship whichever diety they desired. Thinking of that she wondered if having a deeper connection to certain gods would make certain spells easier to learn.

Feeling as though she was getting a bit ahead of herself she pushed that thought to the side and focused back on the conversation.

While late to the party on the whole, 'looking for your dorms' you wander the halls for a time. Looking through rooms, asking students for directions, and generally sending your puppet out into the halls to scout around. Although you lost it for a bit, he did manage to find an incomplete map drawn by a student. It details of some of the main locations in Dawnmoor. Such as the workshops that exist from the smithery, apothecary's workshop and the artificer's lab. Along with a few more mundane rooms, the baths, infirmary, the indoor gardens and for some odd reason a cemetery??? It seems that they have prepared for more than just the mundane needs of the students...
>-Get- [Incomplete map] It details where the more basic rooms of dawnmoor, from your dorms to the infirmary and the classrooms. Although what is concerning is that it was found with a black feather along with it...

You were quickly ushered into the academy by a familiar that spoke with the Lenoy's voice. Quickly he went through introductions nothing that 'through your failures you will be able to learn from them and that any deceased students shall attempt to be revived. And that you should have looked at the bloody totem again for it was a sign of a kobold spellscale.' Apart from that the talking raven led you threw the halls quickly ushering you by two null users nearing the end of their battle although with heavy casualties. As one of them now with a limp arm and the helm that he was wearing now was heavily dented. With the other sporting a lost eye and several lacerations through his armor.

>- Are you a natural user or a focus user?

"Most likely, most wizards that build 'demi planes' such as this usually are more than a bit wrong in the head if you know what I mean." The one with the sun tome said as he and his two other friends walked alongside you to the dorms. Chatting about how they tried eavesdropping on the 'teachers longue' but the only things that they could make out were cries of the teachers to kill it and the roaring of a beast. Either way, it didn't seem like they should pry into it and try to open the door. This continues as you bob and weave through smaller crowds of students discussing topics such as home, their specializations and of the oddity of the school itself. Until you eventually reached the male wing of the dorms full of students going in and out with their bags by their side.
"I think this is your stop right?" The one with the sun tome said as shouldered one of his bags. "Names Idu, hope you get a good night sleep." Holding out a hand for you to shake.

"Somewhat. it's a norm to follow the teachings of ovon when you're a little kid back in the home fort. Many of the zealots at home follow his teachings more than enough, charging the enemy to see if they can gain his favor, attempting to challenge their foes to one on one combat, yadda yadda. I'm sure you can guess what goes on in there."
She said flicking through the books for a moment and tracing something before turning back towards you. "I see you know how to make 'dolls' probably took a while to make them. Me? I spent my time learning a few more runes to add to my arsenal. There pretty weak but being able to support people is a good idea. You know how it goes, the enemy kills the one willing to charge the enemy with nothing but a piece of metal and suddenly everyone running around trying not to get cut in half by a orc." Giggling a bit to herself as she remembered a fond memory of her brother telling her a story that went along like that.
"You got any stories?"

A dose of the potion and after a furious scrub and the spot slowly but surely fades away. Eventually time passes as you apply the potion again, scrub, rinse and repeat until after the clink of the glass bottle on the floor and a torn sponge. The spot finally clears up, mission accomplished.

"Call me Brad," I firmly shake his hand "See you later."

And then I enter a room.

Yuki would help with Aideen cleaning her dress and cleaning it, trying to make sure that the ink never had a chance to dry due to the simple fact that allowing it to do so would set project back. Regardless, it was a long and repetitive possess for the last step of cleaning that would probably have been at least a little boring. During it, Yuki would respond to Aideen's question "My family name is Ito, my personal name Yuki. I just know that here its more common to say your personal name first. Its actually kind of hard to break out of some habits, I have been actively trying to catch myself multiple times but I got the hang of it for the most part before I came here, even if I slip up a few times. And don't worry, I'm fine with explaining things, even if its my name..." Still, once the work was done, Yuki let out a sign of relief seeing the stain was out just as she ran out of her little cleaning potion.

Lessons in etiquette did not cover having to do mundane tasks. Aideen was sightly not happy with the task she has to do, but keeps herself from voicing these thoughts. It's her own mistake that caused this unpleasant work, and it would be disrespectful to Yuki to complain when she was only helping.
All Aideen has to imagine was venturing to war and having to cancel festivities to have the proper funding to raise the army while having asked an ally for support. Yes, that is probably the closest scenario she learned about. Which was ridiculous, of course.
She diverts her train of thought elsewhere. Knowing the proper name of her potential roommate does not yet tell in which way she wished to be addressed. Aideen has little experience with commoners, but she knows that they have the privilege to be individuals more than they are representatives of their houses. So it's probably okay to be on a first name basis with her.
"Ah, but it's easy to commit a faux pas when dealing with a different culture. As much as I don't doubt your levelheadedness to overlook such incidents if they happen, I also want to make you feel at ease. On the other hand, I am eager to learn and be prepared for the time where I meet someone who may not share your temperament."
She runs her fingers over the now clean dress. "Thank you for your-", she giggles, "I almost said 'assistance', but it was you who did the lions share, and I merely worked under your guidance, did I not?" Aideen bows to Yuki. "Thank you for all your hard work for my sake. Replacing it would have cost quite the fortune. I'd be happy to reward you accordingly."

Jay smiles, feeling a bit more at ease, "I wasn't there, obviously, but I know one about some cultists. They were killed off eventually, but no one ever talked how many people went after them expecting faith alone to win the day." She grabs the doll, "Alot of those fools looked alot like this. I never saw this cross outside of those visions, but it was everywhere."

"Yeah, I was quite worried about accidentally doing that for a while when I was learning about this place, but I think that won't be an issue, at least I hope it wont. I am quite sure I learned all the things not to do here, though I could be wrong..." Yuki would say before pausing, thinking about what she learned and making sure she didn't forget anything for a bit, after she would continue to speak "Moving on, I'm glad you are interested in understanding some of the culture of the place I am from, I hope I can teach you a few things you would like to know about, just ask and I will let you know." She would wait for Aideen to continue and as she seemed to examine the dress that was now free from its stain, Yuki couldn't help but smile, happy that her work and help had done well to save Aideens dress, along with being relieved seeing how she was worried that she might have ruined the colors if it wasn't sturdy enough. "I presume that you are used to doing things yourself, if so thats good! But still, its okay, after all I almost said something I didn't mean multiple times today. I do hope that you learned a little about how to clean stains like this, its a useful skill to have, especially if I or someone else who has some knowledge on cleaning clothing aren't around. Though you should always remember its easier to get it off if you clean it before it sets in." Yuki would bow as well once Aideen, and would speak after once Aideen had finished what she wished to say "It was no problem to help you, and do not worry yourself about any sort of reward, after all, friends help one another and I hope to be one of your friends. If you insist however, do please take your time, rushing will only lead you to worry and stress."
>>
>>2579202
"But I have to insist that you will let me replace that potion at the very least. You will learn that nobles don't like to hear 'no' for an answer, my dear Yuki~" She would not abuse Yuki's kindness, nor would she allow Yuki to later come back to demand something in return. Even though Yuki didn't seem like that kind of person, Aideen has to keep that possibility in mind.

A look to the hourglass makes Aideen sigh. "Do you think we have the rest of the day off or will Professor Lockwood return?"

Pictures ahoy of the bed room of the dorms. Imagine it a bit more neater and a chest by each one instead of below the window.

Entering the room you manage to find a semi simple room. Clean beds and a small chest by each of them accompany them with a bronze key set aside by it. In the center lies a window that opens up towards one of the indoor gardens. Looking through it a cool breeze flutters into your room. Putting away your bags you contemplate on whether or not you should head to bed until you can hear an animalistic roar followed by the war cry of a man echo throughout the building followed by faint cheering afterward...

>It seems that Atticus has provoked the ire of the creature and the two have begun fighting near or in the teachers lounge. While concerning, the cheering that seems to come from lenoy makes the situation seem as though it is under control

As the two of you are talking you hear what seems to be a large roar nearby from the teacher's lounge that sounds off a crescendo of doors slamming and latching shut. Listening closely you can hear the roars of a man and a creature face off against each other followed by faint cheering by what sounds to be Lenoy afterward.
>Same question as above.

"See, it's quite odd to those with a strong will that wish to remain in this world, ah here we are." Nygar say's as the two of you approach a door made out of some type of fey wood; a nearby bronze plaque identifies it as a library. However eager you may be you are quickly blocked by nygar who puts his hand in front of you. Taking out the same dagger he used to stab Cpt. Wards before he begins tossing it between his hands as he inspects the room frame."One moment, just gonna have to remember where I put the ward." He mutters to himself before he tosses the dagger over at the frame where it glows a bright blue as it attaches to it before fading away. "After you ma'am." Performing a small curtsy before you as you enter through the door into the library. When you do however the faint smell of coffee along with tea hits you as you look around the library.
Well kept although showing signs of clear age, the bookshelves holding tomes of various conditions, some fine, some good along with more than few that are poor. As you are busy looking around with a bit of wonder Nygar sits down at a table with a sigh as the wood beneath creaks showing it's age. Looking around you notice a man more dressed in a bestial costume akin to what you may find when a pack of mischievous children decides to play a trick on the town sitting in a desk as he scribbles away in a book behind his catalogs and catalogs of
"Ms. Kaitha, meet Arno illywin, the librarian for the year and runic teacher. I do talking to him just so he can acknowledge that you're here." Doing a quick wave over the costumed man where he finishes inscribing before turning the page whilst raising a shaking cup of coffee to his lips. Behind him lay a few bookshelves and cupboards, their contents either chained literally to the shelf or locked away.
