From within the goliath metal construct you live in, the final tweaks to Algol are completed. You Spent all day thoroughly examining Algol for even the most minute imperfection or damage, and you are rewarded by the sight of a truely unblemished monster of a titan. The dark armored plating and crimson coloring is bright and glistening, the internal servo motors and artificial muscles are strong and at 100% efficiency, and all the weapons and equipment in Algol's arsenal have al been carefully calibrated and attuned to the titans specifications.

Once more impressive discharges of lightning dance across Algol's mighty frame, and the hellish eyes of you godmachine tell you that Algol thirsts for the blood of his mechanical enemies.

There is stll time for some last minute preparations, 3 days remain before the call is sent for the pilots to relocate to the battle grounds.

What do you do?
>Nothing, everything is pretty much as good as it gets until you have more time to work in Algol.
>Last minute shopping at the artisans. Maybe some new gear or weapons will give just the right amount of push to get you over the top this match.

Just so you know, you don't have enough time before the next match to to recieve any comissioned gear. You can still comission some stuff, buy you won't recieve it in time for the second match.

I am considering the cage fighting. It sounds like loads of fun.

you said that whatever we commission an artisan to craft would be finished after the second round of fighting?
Can we use the remains of Hector The Bright Warrior as raw material for modifying Algol into a Beta tier Titan?

replace one of the shoulder mounted Long Barreled laser Cannons with the Heavy Autocannon
Replace the Heavy Duty Energy Capacitors with the Heavy Shield
>>
>>2461822
>Just so you know, you don't have enough time before the next match to to recieve any comissioned gear. You can still comission some stuff, buy you won't recieve it in time for the second match.
I missed that. How much was it for the Kaiju regenerating organ? 30?

Is it possible for the Mastercrafted Laser Blaster to be "holstered"? is it not too late to challenge a noble to a due? I remember last thread you mentioned something about pools and massive amounts of money?
>>
>>2461964
>cannibalizing Hector to feed Algols growth into a beta class titan.
You could do that. It would decrease the overall burden significantly. The amount of credits you would need after cannibalizing would be (if I can remember what I said in the previous originally) 150 credits rather than 250 (equivalent to getting the value of Hector if he were repaired and sold). This would take a long time though, long enough that you wouldn't be able to compete in the round. It would take place after the girst round would end and the big gap happens.

>regenerating organ
Yes I believe it was 30 credits to comission

>Holster the laser blaster
Yes I was waiting for someone to ask about that. If any of you recall you would notice some titans previously mentioned have hand weapons on their backs.

You can purchase a mounting to hold hand held weapons so you can use more than one two handed weapon if you so choose or switch between using the hand weapons or the arm mounted ones.

Also the holster is not a piece of equipment and so it will not take up a valuable slot

>Duel
Nope. No noble or pilot wants to risk a lot of damage right before the match and possibly end up handicapping themselves.

>Betting pool
If you have the itch to invest some cash into your performance in the match you can wager credits on racking up a specific number of points or taking on a specific opponent.

That being said there is a hard cap for how much you can bet (the station can only cover so much money after all and the credits you spend are some big fucking credits), which is 10.

Also for the vote
>prep time is over. You decide to not get more gear

What do you do before the match? (warning after this the second match of the tournament begins)

>Look up some more in depth information on the top dogs (the named pilots you picked up on thanks to Neil) in the upper middle section

>Make a bet in the upper middle section

>Socialize with the nobles (inwardly groan) and get a feel for how the next round will shape up in the upper section.

>get that weapons holster
>swap out some equipment (how much or it costs next to nothing?)

So I get that the whole fleet of ships we have doesn't even amount to a single credit. would it be possible to exchange the Heavy Carriers and Battle ships for more Dreadnaughts?
>>
>>2462057
next round will shape up in the upper section.
>>
>>2462132
>swap out equiment
If you mean changing your current loadout it costs nothing you simply change out your weapons and equipment slots. When you went to the battlefield I was gonna ask you anons if you wanted to optimise your loadout.

>dreadnoughts
Yeah you could you could pawn off all of the cruisers and battleships for two more dreadnoughts.

>>Look up some more in depth information on the top dogs (the named pilots you picked up on thanks to Neil) in the upper middle section
>>
>>2462155
is there any class of ship larger than a Dreadnaught? If there isn't then I'll take the two Dreadnaughts.

Sorry. I mean the cost of a holster thing.
>>
>>2462155
can we upgrade the Dreadnaughts class ships to have more HP or better ballistic weaponry?
>>
>>2462165
If the other anons are interested.

Do you want to get a holster so you can carry your hand held weapons into battle even if you're not using them? Cost: 5 credits
>Yes or No

>Dreadnoughts upgrdes, larger ships?
Dreadnoughts are the largest conventional vessels that don't include mobile fortressess, which are mostly for ferrying Titans around. Titans (delta class anyway) are roughly the same length as Dreadnoughts but titans are freakishly powerful and dreadnoughts are ultimately ordinary ships despite being so big. I mean Rickert could probably fiddle with them himself and make them better, but it honestly would be beneath him, or you could spend a handful of credits to upgrade them, but it wouldn't be very productive.

Do you intend to gift them to Neil or something? Because as rich as he is, three capital ships are way above his means to staff and maintain.
>>
>>2462198
>>Yes
>>
>>2462198
>yes

>>2462198
Is it possible to command the Dreadnaughts from orbit while piloting Algol?
>>
>>2462198
is our mobile fortress powerful enough to ferry a Beta class Titan? Would it be expensive to outfit the Dreadnaughts with stealth technology?
>>
>>2462224
Yeah, but the damage they would do to a titan sized target would be rather paltry.

Just so you know the ships and ordinary weapons and vehicles, are an entire order of magnitude below titans who rule the battlefield as the kings of warmachines, even if they can't be used in war anymore.

Using dreadnoughts except in overwhelming numbers would not be a great help in any titan related endeavor.

>mobile fortress ferry a beta class titan?
Yes it can, in fact your fortress can carry an alpha class if you had one.

Alpha class titans just to drop some lore are the apex predators of apex predators in this setting. The biggest nastiest and most absurdly powerful warmachines known to man. There are only maybe 100 of these monsters in the galaxy owned by the biggest and most powerful noble families. The kind whose family head is allowed to be called an emperor or high king.
>>
>>2462274
>Alpha class titans
Goal sighted.
>>
So far I got

>2 for visiting the upper section to socialize with the nobles

>2 for going to the upper middle section to look up some facts about the top titan pilots

I got school tomorrow so I'll be back around 6 or 7PM EST tommorrow

You decide to go to the tournament headquarters on the upper middle section to do some last minute strategizing and research.

Neil had been kind enough to give you a rundown on some of the best pilots currently at Polaris. If you wanted to really get your feet wet and see if you can handle the competition to come, these will be the first great hurdles to overcome.

When you finally reach the headquarters, you brush your way through the mass of staff and visitors spilling in and out of the building.

It's not hard, with your stature people part before you primarily because most people notice your approach and get out of the way to avoid being boweled over.

It takes a while to get in an elevator due to some long lines, but eventually you are on you way to a floor with computers open to pilots to look at the official registries for titans.

Before each match pilots have to register all of the equipment and weapons they intend to choose from, although not what they intend to use for the match.

You queue up the names Neil gave you and get ready to sift through some titanic bullshit because these registries are all in engineerese, with no easily identified specifics aside from pictures.

Pick 2 of the 6 named pilots to study (you will get to see a stat block and what weapons and equipment they use)

>Alexandra Templeton pilot of the Caledbolg (the feminine titan with a knack for melee and dodging)

>Horst Grimmly pilot of the Ursa Major (the bear themed titan that excels in both ranged and melee)

>Ryuji Akashido pilot of the Thunderer (The four legged armless titan that specializes in fighting defensively and ranged combat)

>Robert Highhall pilot of the Aquilon ( The smaller titan specializing in extreme mobility and rapid ranged and melee attacks)

>Arthur Dorn pilot of the Eternal Fortress (a very tanky titan armed with lots of ranged guns) (rivals with Ares Eustamachus)

>Ares Eustamachus pilot of the Priam (The wierdly human looking titan that excels in melee combat) (rivals with Arthur Dorn)

Vote for tonight and until I get back. I'll see you anons tommorrow.

>You look up some information on Alexandra Templeton and Horst Grimmly

You start with the first two pilots on the list Neil gave you. Alexandra really should be the first you look at, seeing as she seemed to be in the same area during the last match. The starting locations are random for the tournament, but you can feel in your gut that she'll be prowling the same region you're in.

On a one on one fight I can see us defeating Alexndra's titan. Horst though. he's a whole different can of worms. We might have a sliver of a chance of beating him in a fight of fists, but everything else is out of our league. His defense and ranged damage is unparalleled to anyone we've fought so far. I won't discount the possibility we could actually beat him, but it would have to be at a hairs thread.

You blink furiously when you rise from your seat, your eyes are dry and sore from staring at long overly detailed files that describe the gear on Horst's and Alexandra's titans.

Although tedious the information will be invaluable during the tournament. Having a general sense of the threat a rival poses is key to gauging your ablity to fight and hopefully overcome them.

It's unfortunate that you can't look at the others, but the building is going to close and won't be open until after the match.

You return to your fortress and rest for the upcoming event, relaxing until the call is sent out for you to approach the arena world.

Rolling with this build.

Once more you exit your fortress upon entering the system at the appointed time. Foating into position over the desolate world chosen to be the arena for steel gods to struggle amongst each other.

When the signal is given to descend that glorius flow of hot blood once more courses through your body, the feedback from Algol sending bolts of lightning into your brain.

Your descent is the same as before, a perfect landing creating a massive crater beneath you, scorching the surrounding landscape.

If begins

What do you do?

>Search for opponents (singles)

>search for opponents (doubles)

>search for opponents (triples)

>>2464992
Do it
>>
>>2464992
>>2464994

Surveying the desolate landscape you do not immediately notice any other titans. Algol's metallic bulk crumbles the ground beneath him, storms of dust and leftover ash pool in swirling clouds around his legs.

By the time you exit the crater a plan of action is already formed within you mind. The second round has enough time for at least 3 seperate fights. The qualifier for moving to the next round requires being in the top ten percent of pilots in terms of points. More points means fighting more titans and more titans means more ransom.

No time to be timid, you need to find and defeat as many titans as possible. The most efficient way to do that is to find the biggest brawl and crash it then take down all comers.

You leap through the atmopshere while flaring your thrusters to maximise the distance you cross. The atmosphere burns and bolts of lightning leap from Algol into the open air, more dust following Algol wreathing him in a cloak of thick grey smoke coursing with multicolored discharges of lightning.

Your blistering pace rewards you with three titans who are just now beginning to engage. They haven't bothered to attack yet, but now is the time to seize the initiative.

What do you do?

>immediately attack one target with all of your guns

>descend and try to flatten one of them

>Select targets and split your fire

>wait until they engage then pick a prefered target.

I'm counting the super soldier trait as counting toward normal offense actions. The super soldier trait deals more with landing a hit then wrestling with your opponent.

A +4 however is something I can see happening if you do a lot more strength actions that succeed or crit.

>>
The black armored titan recoils somewhat when the hammer fails to breach your shield. Despite the massive amount of force behind the attack the titan stumbles.

You sense that the pilot is not accustomed to using that weapon, if you had to guess its most likely new, you also suspect that this pilot might have recently acquired it.

If that's the case tearing from the pilot's pitiful grip will be more satisfying knowing that your going to pummel them with their brand new fancy weapon.

You take a step forward and place you right leg solidly on the ground, turning to gain a little more traction by digging Algol's feet into the ground.

Before the enemy titan can react you lash out with both hands and grab the haft of the hammer. Using your superior leverage you lean back and use your weight and the combined strength of Algol's arms and legs to tear the hammer from the black titan's grasp.

Your opponent stumbles forward just in time to meet the hammerhead you send straight into the metal giant's noggin. The combo of Algol's brute strength and the hammers thruster partially flattens the poor titans' head.

Your enemy takes a step back and partially stumbles. Now is the time to make some decisions.

What do you do?

>keep hammering on this titan

>attack the other titans while your current target is disarmed and wounded

>Fore! (strength attack and use hammer to golf shot the black titan into the others)

>>
While your current opponent stumbles backwards, you take notice that the other titans are grappling. The gun titan holding off the axe wielder by taking hold of the hafts of the axes.

With your new hammer in hand and its powerful thrusters you contemplate throwing it at them, but when the black titan backpedals into a perfect postion to toss him into the melee you decide to do something else.

Algol grips the hammer from the base of the haft and angles the head downward as though he holds a golf club. With one might step Algol follows through. Algol's hips twist and the thruster of the hammer roars once more, striking the black titan square in his metallic stomach.

Sent backflipping through the air the black titan crushes the other godmachines beneath his chassis.

The force of the collision is enough to create fissures across the battlefield, a storm of dust settles upon the entire plain.

"Get off of me you worthless cur!"

"Fuck you that bastard took my hammer!"

From beneath the pile the gun toting titan escapes and rises.

"I do believe that the other chap over there is unhurt, while we seem to be rather injured. I'm willing to cooperate to take him out."

The black titan grumbles through its sound system.

"Fine, I don't care anymore as ling as I get my hammer back."

The axe titan rises last shoving its way past the others.

"Fuck you both, just stay out of my way while I tear him a new asshole."

As the 3 titans advance upon you it appears that they have formed a temporary alliance to focus purely on you.

Shit.

I said that just to give a more accurate point of reference than just "he got hit in the torso" The titan got nailed right below the center of its body, roughly where a stomach would be on a human, although some titans could probably have an artifcial that holds acid to spit out at enemies.

Rolled 20 (1d20)

Your reaction to their counter attack is textbook. You throttle you thrusters and strafe. Creating distance while simultaneously dodging. You lean hard and you jet to the side, before planting you feet and repeating. In an eye blink Algol deftly avoids both attacks.

"What the!"

"How the fuck can he-"

The black titan has no chance to dodge. You charge forward propeled by Algol's monstrous legs and thrusters. You shoulder tackle the unfortunate godmachine before reaching down and clamping Algol's clawed fingers into the machine's legs.

With one more herculean feat, Algol jumps high into the air the black titan raised over head.

AAAAAAAHHHHHH!

The roar you release from Algol's systems sounds almost demonic with its intensity and inflection.

As quickly as you ascend you descend like an angry god, slamming the gun toting titan with his comrade.

The force of the blow buries the gun titan chest deep in the earth, his comrade nearly broken in two.

"I....yield.....sir...." The lights of the gun titan's eyes go out soon after his surrender.

The battlefield is quiet now save for the sounds of battle in the distance. Now you must search for more prey. You can feel it now in your head. Algol hungers, something inside of your titan has grown stronger, and now you can feel a surge of bloodlust pumping through your skull.

No matter. The battle continues.

>20 for encounter

> a wild Alexandra Templeton appears!

Leaving the defeated trio of titans to wallow in shameful defeat, you move toward the nearest source of seismic disturbance.

Considering that you didn't take any damage during you encounter you elect to move toward the largest disturbance. If you're lucky a group of weak titans are already fighting each other. By the time you reach them it will be easy to swoop in and take them all down.

Or at least you would like to do that. You also notice that a single titanic object is quickly coming up from behind, most likely following your footprints. No doubt the titan thinks you walked away from your tussle with the trio weakened.

No matter you can take care of a lone titan fairly quickly.

"My my I'm quite impressed. You were able to defeat all three of those chaps back there. Lovely fellows they told me that you had some fancy baubles including that nice gun on your back. Really it's quite fortunate that they pointed you out to me. I may actually enjoy myself today."

When you turn to face your opponent there's no mistaking the godmachine as anything else than Caladbolg, the titan belonging to lady Templeton.

She strolls toward you brandishing that fancy blade of hers like it didn't weigh millions of tons.

The voice that came from the titan was very crisp and clear. Usually the audio from titans are distorted greatly and sometimes they are specifically modulated to sound more intimidating. From Caladbolg you can pick on Templeton's natural voice as though she were speaking in person. Her voice has a smooth quality you associate with nobility, a type of lazy arrogance that oozes into every aspect of their actions. Her voice is light and articulate, all of words are spoken clearly and with the type of calm, but sneering inflection that you are all too familiar with. The kind of speech brings back some old and bitter memories.

>Alexandra Templeton is challenging you to a duel.

Do you say anything?
>if yes then what?

what do you do?

>run. She's made of stronger stuff than just about any other pilot save the other elites, and you not as experienced as you would like before taking one of them on.

Rolled 17, 4, 4 + 2 = 27 (3d20 + 2)

The day you back down from a fight you can win is the day you lay in your grave.

Leveling the laser blaster at Caladbolg you prepare a strategy.

Templeton is a melee fighter with only two ranged weapons. She is exceptionally good at dodging but her fighting style relies on wearing her opponents down by dodging all of their attacks then countering.

Against a ranged combatant she can't ground or run down she's at a steep disadvantage.

Your thrusters growl as the barrel of your blaster begins glowing in anticipation.

You decide to be cheeky.

"How about I trade my gun for your sword?"

You voice is completely with out ill intent, in fact you try your best to sound coy.

You even notice that Caladbolg tilt its head once begun speaking. She lowers her guard for a split second. You fire your guns as you fly backwards using your thrusters.

Templeton does the expected and charges in order to get into melee. The barrage of laser weaponry harmlessly avoided. Caledbolg twisting to avoid your shots.

You anticipated that, so your opening shot was a dud, a oversized laser pointer, a feint. A feint that worked beautifully because Templeton has already adjusted for the first shot waiting for the infinitely small gap before the second shot.

Only there is no gap, and you fire the real thing at her before she can twist and bend out of the way.

To her credit when the blinding light of your energy weapons strike her she still make the effort to dodge. She avoids taking all of the hits head on, but her legs melt slightly. The total time you spend is around 3 seconds but it seems so much slower when you fight.

Once microcosm of battle speeds up again you can hear her frustration

"Bastard! Fight me like a warrior!"

"No." You drone.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyZv4EghX_I

Caladbolg races toward you, Durendal glowing balefully in the titan's grip, its eyes glowing a fierce crimson.

Despite the distance you put between yourself and Caledbolg the titan closes in and threatens to impale you on its glowing blade.

In the air you feel the simmering rage deep in Algol bubbling up into your skull.
The heat builds behind your eyes and you can feel the godlike might Algol possesses. The power to destroy everything that stands in your way. The ability to achieve what you could have ever thought possible.
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

You slam your fist again into Caladbolg's sword. The sharp metallic ringing hurts your eyes despite the dampening that usually accompanies harsh sounds within your titan.
You grasp Caladbolgs hands with your own, Algol's clawed finger tear apart the enemy titan's hands to firmly grasp the Durendal's hilt.

You slam your fist into the titan's head, then again and again, you repeatedly pound the titans metallic skull until its eye camera's blow out.

You crash into the earth, but before you hit the ground you raise Durendal above your head.
Combining the force of your fall with Algol's strength you cleave Caladbolg vertically across the shoulder, tearing its left arm off.

"You whoreson! How dare you! This Titan is the heirloom of my house! The work of all of my forebearers labor! Have you no honor! No warrior's Spirit!"

You ignore Templeton's raging to grap at the Titan new stump. Grasping at the shoulder wound you examine the inside to see a small armored chamber slighly peaking out from the center of the exposed interior. The armored core of the titan containing the cockpit and primary reactor lies within this shell.

You lightly jab the core with Durendal and end up piercing further in than you intended.

"Wait! Wait! What are you doing! What's that feeling! I demand to know what your doing out there!"

You realize that without the primary cameras and a mostly destroyed torso Templeton is almost completely blind.

"I have your sword pointed at your core my dear, and if you keep insulting me I may just decide to prune the Templeton family tree ever so slightly."

You dig the sword further in to emphasize your point.

"You bastard! You have no honor threatening to kill your opponent so flippalently! You are no true warrior!"

You push the blade further in still, maybe to the point that you risk actualy killing Templeton plus the empowered edge of the sword you can tell is starting to melt the armored shell due to prolonged contact as well.

"I am no warrior. I am a soldier. Victory is first and foremost. Not that you would know you tart. You are meant to be the representative of your house and while you lie beaten and broken you scream and cry like a child. I have beaten you and now you live or die at my discretion, but yet you howl and moan like some mewling infant.

I have slain countless soldiers, and warriors as well, I have seen worlds burn beneath my feet, and entire worlds brought to ruin. Do you think this is some game. The tournament says nothing about mercy, save for yielding, but there is no such ordinance that requires me to accept your surrender, not that you even think to give it.
>>
>>2469367
>OP intimidation
Ho fuck that's scary shit.

>Not that you would know you tart
Hahaha he called her a pastry!
>>
(cont.)

Do you understand that I can kill you right now, that I can tear you from your perfumed chambers, and hold you in my hand right now and crush you like an insect?

Do you wish to die?"

You plunge your hand into the breach you created forcing Algol's fist into the gap. Slowly you reach further in.

"Please! Please! Have mercy! Please!"

"I don't know lady Templeton, do you yield?"

"Yes! Yes! I do! I yield!"

You release the titan from Algol's grasp and allow it to flop to the ground.

You think you can hear Alexandra crying from within the husk of Caledbolg.

"Today you found out this isn't just a game. Be happy you haven't lost your life."

You turn from the wreck and walk away. Hopefully there will be time to get one more battle in before the match ends.

>>2469409
No I mean ditch the hammer to pick up both swords, because during the fighting we're sort of 'borrowing' the weapons, but at the end of it we can keep one thing. I wan't to know if it's ok to borrow both until the end of the fight.
>>
>>2469415
>>2469409
>>2469406

You can use the weapons of titan you defeat its just you can only keep one piece of gear from each that you defeat.

You can't carry both the hammer and Durendal because you only have the one holster where you gun is, and you can't one hand the hammer or the sword.

If you got another strength upgrade you could one hand them both or if you were a beta class titan.
>>
>>2469423

You move toward that group of titans you originally stalked toward. From your seismic sensor readings the activity is about the same as before.

While thr armored titan looks like it still has plenty of fight left, it's slowed down by the virtural glacier hanging off of it.

So you take out your blaster and aim for the ice titan instead. It would be a real pain in the ass to fight while incased in ice.

Bolts of lightning and a halo of crimson light bathes Algol, and the mile tall column of million degree death sent at the ice titan consumes it, obliterating large chunks of the godmachine.

Okay you may have killed that guy.

You turn to the frozen armored behemoth.

"Yeah my luck so far has been pretty bad. So yeah I yield."

Good because the moment he yields the match ended. The alert goes across your main screen in bright letters.

Alright let's take stock of how you did points wise

defeated
> Charles Sing pilot of the Longbow (big gun titan)
>Oliver Sykes pilot of the Headsman (hammer titan)
>Aldred Brattenholm pilot of the Varg(axe titan)
> Alexandra Templeton pilot of the Caledbolg
>Lao Zhi Hung pilot of the Moon Devil (shotgun titan)
>Oscar Mannerheim pilot of the Boreas (ice gun titan)
>Phillip Crenshaw Pilot of Mt. Murder (armored titan)

Pts. count
>6 normal titans= +6 pts.
>1 named pilot= +4
You got more points from beating templeton because pilots are rated by their own point counts. She had 8 pts, which meant you got half of what she was worth. The other guys spent most of the first match in single duels or brawls where they only secured on kill.

So they only have 1-3 pts to their name.

>>
When you finally return to your fortress its a straight shot back the station. You feel more exhausted then when you finished last time. When you examine Algol while in transit you notice that he evolved again. The internal workings and locomotors are even stronger than before.

It's awe inspiring. Algol gets stronger almost everytime you have a big fight, and at this rate you could probably win the bracket tournament if you entered.

Although that sensation you felt during the match is dsiconcerting. Titans you already know have a quasi personality that is created when a pilot links for the first time, but that surge of violent intent was a little too intense for your liking. You sense that some of your old memories are starting to come back, you haven't been this blood hungry since the war.

Algol might be feeding off of some of your unconcious thoughts and memories. It might help when in battle, but it's not unheard of that pilots end up with some mental issues because of the titan ai going berserk.

You'll need to watch out for any further developments like this, going nuts isn't going to help win the tournament.

Okay so I have

1 for
>go to artisan

2 for
>contact neil

1 for
>go to polaris

1 for
>sell titan stuff

Just so you know artisans don't usually buy titan stuff, because they can build and sell most stuff and as a result make a tidier profit.

Nobles on the other hand will buy stuff. Which means if you want to sell some of your redundant inventory you'll have to grit your teeth and talk to some bluebloods.

>you contact neil in the morning

Your still a little groggy even though you slept well, but considering how you performed in the match, your friend Neil will probably be freaking out over the upset match between you and Templeton.

You enter Neil's contact number and hope he's up, its noon but if he partied hard he might be a little hungover.

You console connects with Neil, a portrait appears on screen.

"Hey Neil, it me Rickert. I was wondering if you wanted to go back to the Atlas club sometime to talk about the match."

"Oh yeah? I was planning on that, yeah I can do that." For a moment his voice sounds unsure, a little hoarse not nearly as boistrous as he normally is.

"You okay Neil you sound like you're under the weather?"

Neil doesn't say anything for a while, the onl noise being very light breathing.

"Hey Rickert is this line encrypted?"

That makes you frown.

"No but if you want I can make it encrypted, just give me a moment."

You make some minor adjustments to your console and readjust your settings. A small lock icon indicates your encryption procedure is in place.

"The line is protected. If you have something you want to say you can."

Mumbling and murmurs are all you hear for a while until Neil decides to speak up.

"Uh this is kinda awkward, and I don't want to intrude on your privacy, but I have a question that might be personal."

Your stomach already feels like its filled with bricks, you can already feel what he's going to say.

"Are you a titan pilot? Because the during the fight between Algol and Caladbolg, I recognized a lot of the same movements and body language in him that you did during your power armor match."

"Are you the guy in Algol?"

Well it looks like your little secret is out of the bag. This may be trouble, ordinry people are usually really uncomfortable around planetary nobles and titan pilots. Most folks are not comfortable around someone so vastly powerful and socially higher up. You may not be a noble, but the power Algol gives you is impossible to ignore.

>>2470823

>>
>>2470818
Telling him shouldnt really change that since other pilots will start looking us up anyway, pretty sure our name is registered in the tournament anyway so they will just need to look up our background for a picture if it doesnt have one. Plus I am pretty sure we could kill most people that came after us.
>>
>>2470823

Before the vote closes I want to let you anons know this vote isn't an especially big deal, this quest will kinda laid back, no galaxy destroying threats or huge conspiracies just a feel good tournament quest where rickert tries to realize his ambitions and rebuild his life.

This issue deals a lot with Rickert's personal insecurities about his social status.

He's the kind of guy who who didn't really have a chance at a normal life and he's too ambitious to turn back on his dreams, especially now that he's gotten so far.

He's hated or at least been annoyed by the nobles, and his general prejudice makes uncomfortable with the fact that as a titan pilot he's a legitimately powerful figure with more money and influence than billions of people put together.

For Rickert letting Neil know he's so high on the totem pole may result in relationship problems not in the form of assassinations or titan politics, but in that Neil will become more of a hanger on or an uncomfortable acquiantance than a real friend.

Rickert's already a pretty scary guy in person, and such a gap in status typically has a negative effect on forming meaningful relationships with ordinary people. Just like in real life.
>>
>>2470869
Damn I kind of want conspiracies now
>>
>>2470869
You're right. On a broader scope our thing with Neil doesn't amount to much, but personally that's another story.
Hmmmmm....
>>
>you tell the truth

Since you have clawed your way from your lowly origins to reach this point, you've never liked the idea of your status being at the forefront.

Its been a long time since you've had a friend, your mercenary troops rarely stayed very long and the staff you hired were hardly intersted in your company.

For once in a long time you felt like a normal man. But if you lie to Neil and he would somehow find out it may undercut your relationship and you'd rather live with him knowing than lie and loss him completely as a friend.

"Yes. I own and pilot Algol."

Neil is silent for a moment.

"I can understand wanting to keep being pilot to yourself. I just wanted to know. You seem like you've been through some deep shit in life, so I'm not about to judge you on keeping your cards close you know?"

You don't say anything at first, but Neil's statement warms your heart just a little.

"Thanks, I just don't like introducing myself as a pilot. It's something that I'm not used to yet, and you know how it is. People think that if you have a titan or your a noble your shit doesn't stink or your some kind of chosen one. I like being a pilot but I just want to interact with people without having that constantly worry about seeming like some highborn. Its really schmultzy but I just want people to treat like a normal guy."

Neil grunts slightly

"I know how that feels to some extent. Back home i'm a big shot, and yeah sometimes I feel like I can't just talk to some people because they obssess over being rich and shit."

Before you can respond Neil starts talking again.

"But don't think that you can't talk to people even if they know you're a pilot. Yeah some people are gonna be wierd about it, but most folk don't give a shit, I mean if you look online people are always gushing over some rich asshole, but don't worry man you could literally be shitting sunlight and most people won't care. I don't I think you're a pretty cool guy pilot or not. Just chill out man it's okay."

Your conversation with Neil continues for while, mostly Neil gushes about some of the other good fights from the second match than your own.

When you finish, you look at the console for a little while, at the picture of Neil. It's been a long time since you had a friend to confide anything in.

You've lost a lot of friends when you were young, and up until now your ambitions were everything, but now that you're on track to realize them, it;s about time you started thinking about a future that has room for more than titans and fighting.

You turn the console off, and get ready to go about your day.

1 double barrel laser cannon
1 single barrel laser cannon
2 heavy armor

We are keeping a Hector for that beta upgrade.
>>
>>2471089
Can the super heavy and heavy armor be used as building material like Hector for transforming Algol from a delta class to a beta class?
>>
>>2471105
Nah it's just armor plating. Hector can be used because he has the important internal titan bits you need. You can think of it like Hector is a slain beast whose meat Algol is eating in order to bulk up, while the armor plating is just armor that Algol wears.
>>
>>2471121
I hope we can make a friend out of someone in the upper levels.

>1 plasma mortar (10 credits)
>1 double barrel laser cannon (5 credits)
>1 single barrel laser cannon (1 credit)
>2 heavy armor (5 credits per armor)
>1 advanced targeting system (5 credits)
45 credits total if all sold

Remember that Rickert is technically an artisan because he was the one who built Algol and its original weapons so he can appraise things on his own. It's just that with the time between matches being so short he doesn't have enough to build anything for his own personal use. For instance one the first round is over Rickert will be the one to upgrade Algol into a beta class
>>
>>2471205
Sorry the total is 41 not 45 the single barrel laser is only 1 credit.
>>
>>2471163
I kinda want to run into her and have a few ideas of what to do with her to possibly turn her into an ally. (I am not planning on turning her into a waifu)

I'm thinking of making her buy back Durendal by making her do mercenary work for us.
>>
>>2471205
How much would Durendal be valued at?
>>
>>2471213
I have my doubts of that actually succeeding considering we too her family heirloom sword, cut her titan in half (or nearly), made her bawl her eyes out and gave her a near death experience.

If you're serious about having Rickert, who's hatred of nobles knows no bounds, make an ally of her than you've got your work cut out for you.
>>
Also I notcied that I fucked up with the massive reactor core. Its function from the first thread is giving a re-roll for all energy weapons not a static +2 to energy damage.

During the next Rickert update I'll amend that

>>2471213
>waifus mentioned
I was contemplating when that would become a possible story element.

Rickert has never been married, but the thought has crossed his mind, however his ambitions put that on ice.

He may come across a young woman he favors, but I'll reserve that for you anons if you should choose.

>>2471216
>Durendal value
Its a weapon that can re-roll damage and has a 2d10+3 damage roll, it pierces armor and is upgradeable.

Its current value on the market would be around 30 credits, a significant sum. It's value would increase even further if it were improved.
>>
>>2471205
Gonna be honest. I thought we could get a better Prince out of these. Maybe there might be a posh noble that'll buy then above the original price without asking before hand?
Eh. Unlikely but I can dream.

>>2471230
What about the cost for the warhammer? Between the two I'm more inclined to sell the warhammer if it came down to that.
>>
>>2471235
>The hammer asking price
It is a 2d8+3 melee weapon that can re-roll damage and is upgradeable

It would be valued at 25 credits. Slightly below durendal due to lacking the same strength and armor piercing ability.

Still a fine weapon none the less, house Sykes most likely emptied there treasury to commission it if the lack of other weapons and equipment on the Headsman is any indication.
>>
>>2471245
Guess that means they're broke. Would it be possible to add some of the kaiju bits to the hammers head? Would replacing the hammeres rocket with a Dreadnaught's engine be an improvement or worse?

Is it possible to haggle for a better deal?
>>
>>2471249
>kaiju stuff on hammer?
yes you could infact you could do some interesting stuff with the thunder bits and teeth in fact.

>haggling?
Yes in fact that's why you'll have an RP section, Rickert going slap on his best clothes, force a smile and try to schmooze some some nobles into buying his stock.

There will be some options to choose from (some will I will try to make funny) when picking a mark to fleece.
>>
>>2471223
>If you're serious about having Rickert, who's hatred of nobles knows no bounds, make an ally of her than you've got your work cut out for you.

I was thinking of putting her through a version of renters hell if she wants to get the sword back.

She wouldn't directly buy Durendal. She must do the equivalent of 30 credits (base) worth of mercenary work for us to get it back. She will also have the option each mission/match (if she ends up continuing on) of renting the sword for 5 more credits worth of work.

With an additional titan+pilot on retainer we should be able to take better paying jobs between matches/rounds.

>Would replacing the hammeres rocket with a Dreadnaught's engine be an improvement or worse?

I'd bet dreadnaught engines are to large and the wrong type. I'd expect the various heavy/light thruster type equipment are closer to the materials we would need to upgrade it.
>>
>>2471303
That mercenary idea seems a little too complicated and unnecessary. Why would we ever need her to do mercenary work?
>>
>>2471303
Yeah I figured the dreadnaught engine might be a little to big and might be a stupid idea, but riddle me this:

>Warhammer engine causes the hammer to travel light speed into the opposing titans head.
Unlikely but the idea amuses me.

When you reach the uppermost section of Polaris you can already feel your skin flushing slightly. You know that not all nobles are terrible, you know that because your not some moron who believes that out of trillions of humans who live on completely different planets these particualr humans who have no relation to each other are going to be the same.

You KNOW that the men and women on this station are just here for the tournament and they go about their business just like everyone else. No ulterior motives or blood feuds to avenge, some of them don't even govern planets, they're just very rich.

Your hackles rise regardless and you strain to keep a grimace away from your face. If you're going to make any deals you need to look reasonable and approachable. If you want to make out like a fox you need to be charismatic.

So You go to the ramp of your shuttle slap yourself across the face and smile. You'll only feel the urge to strangle everyone around for maybe 6 hours, 10 at the very most.

You should really see a professional about this at some point.

You move into the section's common area, a large green area filled with little shops and quaint resteraunts filled with exotic food from around the galaxy.

Everyone you pass is in different garb, some are in very strange syntheti fabrics that are skin tight and others seem to wear some very old style clothing that probably hasn't been popular in millenia. Who wears what looks like a linen bed sheet as clothing?

You press onward and start looking for the little reserved areas for pilots.

Soon enough you reach an artificial hillock with all manner of diversions like lawn games and drones giving out complementary bevrages.

When one offers a strong drink to you, you do your best to not chug it. You feel like you're about to break out into hives right now, some alcohol will help take the edge off.

Alright there are plenty of Pilots around, but they all seem to be bunched up and socializing, which means you'll need to hold conversations with multiple nobles at the same time.

You biting you own tongue in order to have an excuse to leave, but this is too important.

Which group do you approach

>the group of youngish looking men who seem to be having a contest on who has the most badass story

>A group of young beautiful women who seem to be talking about travel and where they have visited.

>A group of older gentlmen who seem to be talking about galactic politics

> A mixed group of men and women who can only be couples and their single friends

Having an ally may allow us to take down prey that are currently out of our reach. Imagine the potential materials we can potentially get from high delta or low beta kaiju that would take us out in a solo fight but we can take out with backup.

We are not strong enough to handle a near beta titan like Horst in Ursa Major.

Noble families on the galactic scale are not actually proper families.

They are more akin to a small tribe of people, who share a single or multiple ancestors

A small noble family will usually have hundreds of members, a large family will have thousands of members.

It's kind of strange but marrying into one of these families isn't as hard as you would think.

many of these pilots aren't the children of the current family head, just the best pilot to represent the family in the tournament.

>you approach the couples

The couples are a nice solid choice for a first approach. With a worried spouse or lover nearby you can milk the safety angle to get them to buy your stock.

But you need to be cautious, these are adults with families to think about, everything changes when you get hitched and have kids. You may not have any personal experience with this but you understand second hand that people mature a lot when they decide to settle down.

You'll need to act like a reasonable figure, leverage your combat experience and be a genial figure. You really need to sell that you're a trust worthy type of guy.

The young men you saw might be impressed by some war stories and your titan based feats (as limited as they are), and the young women might be intrigued by your travels but these people will be need to see that you're a pleasant man.

This is gonna be hard.

How do you introduce yourself?

>don't. just walk into the group and sit down.

>try to find a hand to shake or someone to introduce yourself to on a personal level

We do know what these weapons can do on a personal level and have first hand experience. We know the 'feel' of them if that makes sense. This shouldn't be too hard. Hopefully.
Plus technically being an artisan helps.

You approach and peer into the cluster of people.

Just sitting down would probably seem rude or forward, and addressing the group as a whole might seem a little awkward especially since there are multiple conversations going on already and getting everyone's attention would disrupt them.

Best to look for someone not currently engaged in conversation and try to approach them one on one.

Toward the dge of the cluster of nobles is a woman who seems to be preoccupied with her holo bracer.

She's reclining slightly, while lazily looking at her holo device. No one is with her and she looks positively bored.

Good a third wheel. Someone who's bored and wouldn't mind a distraction or company.

Alright target spotted now you just need to make first contact.

You need to be careful though, with your massive size and appearance you might seem threatening. The fact that your face may already be circulating among the pilots due to your showing in the last match may complicate things. Beating down Templeton as brutally as you did may work against you here.

How do you approach the women?

Do we have a drink in hand? Think that might help for Rickert's nerves.
Ok. Here goes. Can we see what it is she's watching from her device? We could use that as a conversation starter. Go up and talk to her and hope she doesn't faint.
>>
>>2471568
>He has a drink in hand, you can see she's watching some kind of action flick on her dervice.

You approach the young woman slowly, one hand casually placed n your pocket, a drink in the other. You maintain a straight but relaxed posture and try your best to look relaxed and friendly. Which is hard because you look like some meat head looking to collect debts.

>pic related rickert kinda looks like this, but hes younger looking with brighter blond hair and more facial scars

The movie she's watching is a flick you've seen before. A run of the mill alien flick. Big group of soldiers get hunted down by some aliens, the main characters fight their way out, most of them die except the leading lady. Mediocre action, weak on plot. You've seen way better, fuck you have combat vids from your helmet recorder that would make better action flicks.

"You a fan of the infestation series?"

The woman looks up at you, and her eyes go wide. You took care to not move too close, with your height and mass standing too close would mean looming over her and most people don't appreciate menacing looming.

"Oh uh no not really, I mean there are better vids out there, but I decided to watch this one, because I haven't seen it before, a friend told me the sequels are better."

You force out a chuckle.

"Marginally, don't bother with the prequels they mostly rehash the plot of the first movie and all the actors barely know what they're doing on screen. One guy I swear spent half the movie with his gun upside down."

The woman sits up with interest.

"Which one was that?"

You take your hand out of your pocket to scratch your chin.

"The second prequel where they find out the aliens are actually mini kaiju, and that one of the main characters is a kaiju hybrid. Dumbest plot twist they could possibly think up."

The woman smiles and giggles a little.

"Good to know, my name's Rachel Harper. Nice to meet you...."

"Rickert. I'm Rickert Volgunsen."

Rachel's eye widen again.

"Oh wow you're the guy who beat lady Templeton so bad she had a nervous breakdown right?"

You try you best to not grimace. Dammit you traumatize one opponent on the field of battle and everyone focuses on that part and not how well you fought.

"Uh yeah I guess I did, didn't know I caused her to break down though. I was just kinda trying to get her to stop yelling and complaining and give up already. I needed to move on and keep earning points."

Rachel looks at you a little uncomfortably for a second before she reaches her hand out.

"I can't say I blame you, she wasn't yielding and she was insutling you the whole time. That and when your fighting getting aggressive is just natural. I'm a pilot for house Harper of Tempus. My brother and I are representing our house in the tournament."

She point over to a young man talking animatedly about how adorable his newborn daughter is.

"He dragged me along to 'meet some nice prospective men' but instead he talks with all these other couples and the guys here are all to nervous to talk to me, because I'm a pilot. So I'm stuck here until one of these guys works up the courage to approach me."

You genuinely feel sympathetic for a brief moment, but your inborn mailce eats away that feeling pretty quickly. You're here to fleece these bluebloods not make friends.

"Huh, that's disappointing, no one bothered to talk to you even casually?"

Rachel rolls her eyes before pausing her movie.

"Yeah, because now my brother and my sister in law are just gushing about their kids with the other couples. I actually want to get married and start my family, and the fact that my prospects dried up because I'm a pilot."

She stands up and approaches you. She's not very tall, but she's not short either. Chin length black hair and green eyes. She's actually quite attractive, seems to be in good physical condition. Hard to believe a bunch of noblemen would back down from her just because she's a pilot

Rachel reads you mind and pouts a little.

"You know how it is, pilots are supposed to be badasses. We kick ass and take names and the family holds us up as a symbol of strength for the family. We're on a pedastal because we can handle the titans. You know what's it's like right? The moment you became a pilot everyone started acting like your out of their league.

You try to not growl. That comment hit you a little too close to your own issues. You may have a similar problem, but it's not like you're used to being considered a highborn. You never though of yourself as special either, you just worked you ass and heart out to reach this point.

"Yeah I can relate, I'm just getting used to it. I'm lucky I have some friends who don't really care that I'm a pilot now."

You rub the back of your head lightly, maybe some boyish charm will work on her.

It works because she smiles at you and extends her hand.

"Glad you understand, its nice to meet another pilot who can just relax for a little bit. Most of the others are so serious all the time and constantly puff up when they meet other pilots."

She leans close while you shake her offered hand

"between you and me Templeton, was an arrogant bitch, who rarely cared if her opponent died. I've seen some of her pre-tournament duels, the ones they don't have online. She just let one of the pilots she cut out of their titan float in space for a couple of days before a team recovered them. It was on purpose too."

Okay as brutal as you can be at times that's just fucked up. Getting spaced is one of the worst ways to die in your book right behind bleeding out slowly and burning to death.

"Hey you want me to introduce you to the group over there, I imagine you want to socialize with more than me."

You nod and force a smile.

"I would like that a lot."

Rachel walks with you into the custer of nobles before motioning to take a seat next to her.

When you do she speaks up ans gets the attention of her brother and several other nobles.

"Brother, this is Rickert Volgunsen a pilot in the tournament just like us. He introduced himself and would like to participate in this gathering."

Geez You didn't think that just talking to a group of people would need such a formal introduction. But it doesn't matter you extend your hand to Rachel's brother.

"Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you as well Mr. Volgunsen. If my sister hasn't told you already my name is Isaiah Harper. Beside me is my wife Clara who is holding our daughter Mary."

The wife holds up the infant for you too see. The chid is in a onesie of some sort lookingat you curiously, you'd say the child was a little older than a year in age. Cute kid.

"Say Hello to Mr. Volgunsen Mary." Clara urges the child. Placing the baby on her knee and rasing its small hand to mimic waving. The child smiles and giggles at you before taking both arms reaching up at you.

"Oh she wants to be picked up. Would you like to hold Mary Mr. Volgunsen?"

Oh. Oh dear. You've never held a baby before, although you've seen them on occasion. They're rather fragile and although this baby is a year old you could still hold it in one hand. You blush involuntarily.

>do you hold the baby? Yes or No.
>>
Im sorry I didn't get to posting at noon for some reason I couldn't acess 4chan, and the threads weren't updating from the catalogs.

I also had a RPG I was GMing that I had to do that ended around 11:30 that I just got back from.
>>
>>2472704
>do you hold the baby?
Yes, but be scared.
>>
>>2472738
You decide to hold the child. This is uncomfortable, but this man was just gushing about the little tyke earlier. If would reflect badly on you if you couldn't just hold a baby for a brief moment.

You very gently take the child by cupping your hands underneath the baby girl and then lightly hold her near your shoulder.

She reaches up to grab the collar of your shirt and gurgles happily. You lightly pat the baby's back, you remember that parents do that to calm or comfort them.

Luckily you don't hold the child for long, Clara extends her arms to take Mary back. You do so slowly to make absolutely sure the child safely leaves your care.

"Do you have any children Mr. Volgunsen?" Clara asks.

"When my husband looked at you profile a day or so ago, it said you were about 67. Did you bring your family here. Little mary could do to have some company."

You frown. Yout personal life is none of her business, but its an innocent question so stone walling her would be rather offputting. Plus you don't have a family anyway so there's no threat of them somehow being harmed.

"No, I don't have any children. I'm not married and I don't have any living family. I'm not a noble and as far as I know I don't have any living relatives"

The group frowns. Not in displeasure or annoyance, but in pity. It's obvious that they pity you from the way they look sad at your statement, downturned faces and bright eyes.
It burns your guts a little, you don't need their pity and you doubt they really care.

"Oh my. That's aweful. You must be very lonely traveling with only your attendants."

You frown again in annoyance.

"I do not have attendants I have no need of them. I am perfectly capable of managing my own affiars without assistance."

Isaiah waves you down.

"We mean no disrespect, we just assumed that you must have some companions or employees to travel with you, I can't imagine that traveling in your fortress all by yourself is terribly stimulating. I mean you must get lonely all by yourself correct?"

You hold your hand up to cut him off.

"I'm sorry it's just I'm a rather private man, I don't like to talk about my personal life. I understand your concern, but I'm quite fine. I have made several companions as of late that provide fine company."

The assembled nobles nod in assent before a different man speaks.

"On a different, and hopefully brighter subject, how do you feel about you win over Templeton, I saw your fight with her and I must say you are quite fearsome. Fighting in the air going fist to blade with such a notable duelist, you feint with the laser weapons was also brilliant."

Raising you hand again you wave the man down.

"She was a dangerous opponent but she was I was well prepared to fight her, my speed made her primary strategy difficult to use and with so little ranged firepower She was doomed to win a fight with a similarly agile opponent."

The man and several other nobles laugh.

>>2472820
Good you got them laughing and on the subject of titans. No you canlay your hook and try to fleece them.

"Actually on the subject of firepower I have another motive for being here."

Isaiah and Rachel both look at you curiously.

"I was hoping that by coming here, I could interest some pilots in buying some excess gear I possess. I have collected a substantial amount of ransom and loot lately and I would look to lighten my hoard if only slightly."

Several nobles draw closer to you and then crowd around.

"You've defeated several opponents already, what do you have to sell?" Asks Rachel

>You show them the inventory of items you're selling.

"Hmm. I don't know, gear is not cheap, and the artisans are always hocking their creations, but your asking price is rather steep."

Isaiah strokes his chin.

"It pays to be fully armed, most tians can hold at least six weapons, I mean if you want a testimonial being fully armed is immensely effective. When you happen to fight one opponent, using all of your arsenal at once will usually put you ahead in a fight immediately."

Another noble voices their opinion

"How do we know this gear is any good, I mean this is all gear salvaged from defeated titans. They must have been damaged at some point."

You puff up a little to emphasize your self confidence on the subject.

"I constructed my own titan as well the several of the weapons that I have used for the tournament, when it comes down to repairing and maintaining equipment I know as much as any artisan."

The assembled pilots look astonished.

"You really made your own titan? I find that hard to believe."

Rachel scrunches her face. She and the other pilots don't seem to be convinced of your claim. Which is reasonable, it's not like they know you well enough to take at your word.

"If you look at the imperial registry, Algol's given creator is me, the imperial officials approved and afformied that I was the sole indiviudal to construct the titan."

The check takes a while, but they confirm it. If there is one good thing about having to check in with the imperial authorities when a titan is constructed is no shit eating cheat can claim you work as their own.

"Well I'm pleasently surprised, you're quite accomplished Mr Volgunsen." Isaiah nods

"Good doing business with you Mr. Harper, I hope you and your sister's time in the tournament is fruitful."

Isaiah snorts and claps you on the shoulder.

"That was the intent, I can't say I'm a great pilot and Rachel is even less experienced than I am. I don't think we'll get far with the tournament, hopefully we could make to the second round, but we're here to boost the family fortune if only just a little, a solid ransom will serve us well even if it's only one. I think we'll leave winning the tournament to you. I think you're the kind of man built for this."

You shake his hand again before responding.

"It was nice to meet you and your family, I wish you fortune and good health."

"The same Mr. Volgunsen."

The other nobles have already departed, but before the Harper's leave Rachel approaches you.

"Hey uh I just wanted to say it was nice to meet you, I haven't had much luck with meeting new people so uh take this will you, I'd like to meet you again."

She sends you her contact information with her holo bracer.

"I'll keep you in mind, I've been trying to meet new people as well, your sister in law was right to some extent, it's not much fun bring here all by myself. Until we meet again."

Rachel shakes you hand and turns to follow her family.

When they are out of sight you collapse into a chair. Uh that was painful to sit through, if you have to hear someone talk about tax policy or a who's who of potential young ladies looking for a good man like yourself you might just throw yourself into the nearest black hole.

But it was worth it, with 60 credits you're closer to your goals and with the money you already have, there's some golden opportunities for upgrading Algol.

You wonder what would happen if that tail blade from the kaiju were combined with Durendal?

>>
>>2474504
I'd rather not, I keep most social media at arms length.

There really shouldn't be threat of the ques dying, the plot is pretty simple.

4 arcs in the form of each round of the tournament, and 4 slightly longer arcs for the time between rounds.

>first arc
The players are introduced to the basic concepts of the quest and setting, then they build some preliminary contacts with some Npcs

>second arc
The cast of NPCs gets bigger, some more options for visitng planets shows up, maybe some more of Rickert's past is elaborated on. More mercenary or kaiju shenanigans.

>Overall arcing plot
Rickert is trying to claw his way into being powerful enough to establish his own personal domain, and create a legacy.

Winning the tournament and becoming the emperor of earth is a tangible goal, as well as getting revenge on house Arnheimer for fucking him over, but these are not the PCs primary motivations.

Building relationships, making money, upgrading Algol and dealing with Rickert's issues are big parts of what I plan for the quest.

It will be easier to finish the quest with a solid tangible end game in mind.
