It will develop similarly to a Civ or a Skirmish, but the setting is a Low Fantasy Victorian-era world where magic is present. Similar to an Isekai, your character has died in the real world, having lived an unfulfilled life. Perhaps you gave your life to save someone else's. Perhaps you missed the chance to do something while you were alive. Perhaps you simply ended your life, uncontented with its many facets.

To your surprise however, you've awoken in a strange, yet familiar world. You feel fundamentally different, as if there is a new power stirring within you. You know this feeling as the gift of magic, with potential far greater than many of the people in this world. You are an Outsider; a person whose soul had been wrought from another dimension.

You're not alone, either. You've awoken alongside other Outsiders from Earth, too. Whoever you were back in the old world is mostly inconsequential now.

You were greeted by several humans with clothing that looks similar to what someone from the 19th century London would wear. They then introduce themselves as members of an organization called the Xerenith Order.

Your summoners have brought your soul here to help fight against threats that they cannot fight against alone. The Order promises to give you funding, safety, and a roof over your heads, so long as you continue to work with them.

Ultimately, there is no explicit way to 'win'. As a player, you are encouraged to set your own goals. Maybe you'd like to amass power, or return to Earth, or even rebel against your summoners. The choice is yours.

How to join: - Currently admitting a limited amount of Players. Pop into our Discord for more info
Make your character. It can be a male or a female. Post your full character info in each of your Action posts like in a regular civ or skirmish.

You have 3 "Skill points" from your backstory. Skill points can be used to gain Skills, which are categorized into six different archetypes: Might, Finesse, Sorcery, Resolve, Inspiration, and Industry.

a. Name (trip/namefag yourself)
b. Give a short description of your character. Pictures are also appreciated.
c. Allocate your skill points. These can be skills that you knew in your old life on Earth(i.e. Mathematics, Firearms Proficiency, etc), or gained when you became an Outsider(i.e. Magic Missile, Lightning Bolt, etc). Do note that these skills can be as general or as specialized as you like, but must be within reason(i.e. Magic Missile is an acceptable starter skill, but Create Matter isn’t).

How to play: -
To start you post your character sheet with actions for each turn.
a. Action Economy. Each turn you will be given 5 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions. Major actions use 2 [Action Points]. Social and minor actions only use 1 [Action Point].

Examples of major actions: Training, spellcrafting, building, etc.
Examples of minor actions: Social interactions, resting, etc.

For every action(whether it be major or minor), you must roll.

-General formula uses [General Dicepool] + [Archetype Bonuses]
-[General Dicepool] is 1d100
-[Bonus] are added to the action you are making.

[Bonuses]
Each tier into an archetype related to the action now grants a +5 Bonus.

Example:
If you have Bread Baking (Industry) and your action is to Bake Bread you roll 1d100, and add a +5 to your action.
~~
If you had 12 Finesse, you had a Well-Rested Status that gave you a +10 bonus, you had a skill that gave you +5 to actions related to Stealth and you posted an action related to stealth, you'd roll a 1d100 and get a total boost of 25:
10 from the Finesse, 10 from the Status, and 5 from the related skill

b. All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any action posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.

c. After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

[NEWS STATUS]
[Stronghold:]
The Factory
An old metal processing plant that was closed down decades ago. Chosen for its proximity to the city of Burhtic, this building is close enough to get to the city, but also far enough to make sure that if something were to happen, the Xenerith Order would have ample time to stop it. The factory floors were cleared of machinery, meaning that there is plenty of space for development. The lack of comfortable amenities might leave something to be desired, however.

Default Building:
>Sleeping Quarters
>Kitchen
>Dining Hall
>Armory
>Infirmary(Currently in bad shape)
>Free Space for Development (8/15 left)

Expansion Units: 5/15
>Structures:
>Forge
>Library
>Spell Repository
>Chemist Lab
>Fight Arena

=====[Xenerith Order News]=====
Library Status:
The Library is finally fully cleaned and ready for use.

Old Aisle Status:
It seems like the oldest part of the factory was involved in a particularly destructive incident involving the attempt to make an Multi-Purpose Medical Room, which resulted in the destruction of the infirmary, the demolition of one of the walls of the forge and a giant hole in the wall of the second floor of the Factory.

The Order would like to inform all the Outsiders that their help would be well received, and while they aren’t really prepared to lend any meaningful rewards, having the damages restored is probably of vital interest to everyone who may need these facilities. And keeping the water and the forest fauna outside would do much to let everyone sleep without worried of awakened by a flood of water or spiders in the middle of the night.

>[Failures can result in more “interesting” results than the usual even if done inside, every failure after the first will be considered “Outdoor activity” as the interior is partially exposed to the elements. Furthermore, the water is not a problem anymore, but insects have been seen flooding in as if searching for a new place to call home after being forced to lay low because of the storm. -10 to all resting and relaxing rolls done inside. (-5 after taking in consideration the weather bonus).]

>[The infirmary was relocated to the opposite aisle, but is working at half the efficiency for the next turn. All rolls involving it will receive a penalty depending on the complexity of their dependence on it.]

Weather Report:
The weather is now sunny with few and sparse clouds, perfect for outdoor activities and minor adventures. After that amount of unusual rainy weather this was enough to bring smiles and good moods to most of the local population that is now relieved by having it restored back to normal.

>[The good mood of most people give a +5 bonus for social related rolls that may be influenced by it. The weather is good for physical activities but also allows people to relax without having to worry about water falling from the skies. +5 on resting and relaxing.]

- Agnes, the Savior and Tatsuo, the Hero
The halls are filled with gossip about how Agnes rescued Tatsuo from a sure dead in hand of the Vermin that have been tormenting the villages that surround Burticc. She found him on a pool of his own blood, unconscious and carried his body back to the Factory. He then went on a rampage on the local forest.

Tatsuo recalls how they took Angelica from him and he knows nothing of where she might be. Both Agnes and Tatsuo have promised each other to bring her back alive.

Almost all of this gossip is happening at the mess hall.

Special Announcement

Grandmaster Kjellberg start his speech just before dinner, speaking from an improvised stage on the opposite side of the room from the kitchen.

“Greetings, as a few of you may already know, I’m Grandmaster Kjellberg. The highest authority of the Order in this “Temple”, and the one directly in charge of it. Or course, I don’t take care of it on my own, and I have the Council of masters and every other member involved in the work we do here to thank for this being possible in the first place. But tonight isn’t about what goes into the backstage of running such a large operation, but instead about the heart of it: You Outsiders!”

He clean his throat.

“As you may already know, the Order is very old organization with centuries of existence under its belt that is responsible for dealing with those uncommon but still very real, dangerous and sometimes even very big threats. Threats such as that little episode we had in the library, or terrible monstrosities that lurk in the woods at night. But while it may be not that of a big deal in the lives of common folk that can go years without meeting something out of the ordinaire… Sometimes… Sometimes someone or something screw up a big time, and this things that are usually rare become common place for a while, and can risk the entire structure of the world in their wake. Its for times like this that the order exists. And while it still deals with minor episodes during more mundane times, its focus was always dealing with such times of crisis that follow major magical events, may they be natural or artificial. It’s for times like this that the summoning ritual was created… And while it may still sometimes be invoked under more peaceful times, calling Outsiders here is not a simple process with a easy price, and is one that we cannot allow ourselves to do in vain.”

He stares into the crowd in silence for a moment, and then continues.

“However, you’re the true protagonists of this story, is up to you how it will follow and how it will unfold, we’re just the storytellers here, and while we can adjust some conditions, we can’t really take control of your actions and your choices… But I ask you, for the future of this kingdo- No, for the future of HUMANITY as we know it, to stay with us and follow us through our battles to save this world from darkness in any way you can… But I won’t lie to you, it won’t be an easy way, for while we grow our enemies also grow stronger… And while I respect whatever your choice may be, I will still do my best to do what we believe that is better for the survival of humanity, and we will not deviate from that path because of the egoistical desires of a few… So, before we can continue to the main event and welcome you into the Order, I’ve an announcement to make.”

[cont]
>>
A Master Summoner and Everett open up large scrolls with illustrations, one detailing some sort of bee-hive and humanoid bees and the other being depictions of many children faces, and one familiar face, that of Angela.

“It has come to our attention that the storm we have been going through was no simple weather anomaly, but instead one more of the plans of our enemies in order to hide their presence while one of their attack forces vandalized and ransacked villages since the depths of the mainland until they could reach the litoral to unite with their main force at a nearby island… And we cannot let that go unpunished. Not only that, but is of strategic importance that we take down their flying base that is being occulted inside of the of the storm, and, if possible, rescue the people that have been taken as prisoner and possibly even slaves for them… Before it's too late for rescuing them.”

He stops for a moment on that ominous sentence.

“So I call upon thee, our heroes, for this dangerous task that may throw you in the heart of the enemy in order to stop an even bigger evil from happening, and while I won’t see fault at those that aren’t ready for such risky mission… I ask the ones interested and brave enough for it to see me after dinner for more detail. However, we cannot lets ourselfs be shaken but such inhumanity, and must iron our wills in order to commemorate what we still have and the things that have not been lost yet, because if we lose the joy of live because of them, that would be another battle lost… So, I officially welcome you into the sacred army of the order, and leave you with an selection of plates suggested by other of our outsiders that have also have been summoned from “Earth”... May you feast upon such a banquet today, so that you have the strength to fight tomorrow. Thank you, and have a good night.”

You walk around the city asking people about the pamphlet you found, most of them give excuses to avoid having to deal with you or just don’t pay you much attention. But you end up meeting with Emily again and she is as kind and helpful as always, leading you to a spot in which the cult usually does it’s preachings to the general population. You do some small talk but she is eager to go back to work and doesn’t want to be seen with you to avoid calling even more attention to you.

“Bye Ark! See you later!” She says as she leaves you to wait for the cultists.

It doesn’t take long until they show up to start preaching about the dangers of magic, the true faith and the moral degeneration of society. They don’t get that much attention from the passersby, but doesn’t seem unmotivated by it, just continuing to preach in religious fervour about their way of life. Some people stop by to listen, and some even seem to agree with them, so even if their opinion isn’t that common yet, it still manages to catch some attention, gathering at least half a dozen of interested people by the end of it.

After the fact, they split up, and you end up following at distance the one who was preaching. Some not so young man with a mix of common clothes and military garments, like his combat boots and the old and very worn jacket over his shoulders. You follow the road that leads out of the city and walk for at least half hour after leaving the walls behind, reaching a old manor on the outskirts of the city. The man goes through its bronze gates, and two guards at the gates let him inside.

You search around for a dictionary in the library, and end up finding what you wanted. As you open the book and start going through the first pages things start to make a little bit more of sense, it seems like this whole language has created has an effort between many nations of the same continent to create an “universal language” to facilitate the exchange of information between them… But it never caught up to public interest, being quickly put aside after a few decades and falling into disuse. Still, it's strange that there isn’t any other book about the world at large in the selection you have access to, and you start to suspect that it could be proposital, as there may be other competitor willing to recruit that the Order doesn’t want the Outsiders to know about yet.

After many hours spent studying the intricacies of the artificial language with the help of the texts, you manage to get a good grasp of the structure of the Encyclopedia, and the basic notions of Enoquian.

Choose to Translate:
>Introduction: World History.
>Oshaelian Empire
>Kingdom of Portocali
>Veracrussian Empire
>Kingdom of Santagena
>Principality of Avigueux
>United Provinces of Alrain.
>Kingdom of East Loulava and the Duchy of West Großnow.

>NEW SKILL:
Rudimentary Enoquian (Industry): No combat effect.
Basic notions of syntax, grammar and morphology of the Enoquian language.

>7 - m
There’s no time for actual celebrations as you get involved into making your notes for the Enoquian translations. You overhear the muffled speech from inside the Library walls, but you find the sound of it distracting. Then the sound of the pages shifting starts to get annoying, but the Enoquian language starts to get even more interesting as you translate and make your notes.

Before you realize, it’s already noon. You have worked non-stop for the past days and you passed out in your desk at the library.

>Condition:
[Overworked] - You have pushed your body beyond its limits. You need some rest.
[Medical Bed] - Your first action (minor/Major) must start at the Infirmary next turn.
[Faux Pass] - Some people of the Order didn’t liked that you skipped the event, you have no idea why they cared so much about it, but you have lost “Appraised by the Order”

>29 - M
You search the library and the spell repository for information regarding “laser magic” or just lasers in general, but find none of it… Well… There are some indirect mentions of not yet understood principles of science that seem to allude to laser technology, but are too far from actually producing it yet. There is also some register of past outsiders being able to do feats similar to what you have in mind, but no real instruction of how to do it. In fact, for all they know, it shouldn’t even be possible according to the fundamentals of magic and the most modern theoretical understanding of it.

You aren’t really used to such events but you manage to make some new acquaintances, like Gurdis, the Chief Armorer, Hunnet, one of his apprentices and Joseph, and man in red that scouts around the town doing minor jobs and taking care that nothing really bad happens to outsiders, even if it has been a difficult task recently. Even more, you get some time with the Grandmaster himself… And while it doesn’t do much to clean your honor in relation to his bad first impression of you, he seems to imply that it would help your situation if you volunteer to help in one of the two positions they’re opening to outsiders at the moment.

If you do not choose this option, you’ll need to spend a Major action in order to join the raid next turn. It’s expected that you’ll have access to weaponry and protective garments before the start of the battle.

- [Join the Defense Forces of the Factory] - Gain access to the Order's Special Guard weapons and uniforms while inside the factory, plus a little monetary compensation for your time, need to spend one minor action per turn for patroling or risk social penalties for skipping the job. Well… In a way the fact that the giant hole in the Old Aisle exist is at least partially your fault, so you decide to spend a part of your time this week to help repair it.

Unfortunately, though, it was just a matter of time until misfortune hits you again, and about fifteen minutes into working on carrying stuff around you lose your balance after stumbling on a brick, you still manage to support yourself against a wall to slow your fall, but sadly it was the improvised barrier they had arranged to keep most of the rain away.

What resulted in it being destroyed as you fell down to the ground with it and part of the makeshift structures made to support the thing. At least you didn’t actually died from the fall in the debris, even if it was a close call from being impaled by iron rebars. But the people working on it, and everyone else that heard about it, became even more upset by your continued persistence in making things harder for them.

[Battered] - You are now at half HP

>Condition Updated:

[Even More Blamed] - You REALLY aren’t in good terms with the order right now, you receive -35 in all requisition rolls, and -20 in all rolls involving people of the order that you don’t have some previous good relations with. This don’t expire until you get on their good terms again.

[Lost Progress] - All the repair made by the Order during last turn was lost.

>17 - m
After that unfortunate incident you decide to take a break from any more adventure and to lay low for a while, just to avoid any further persecution from bad luck that may be following you around until you get in a better shape to deal with it. So you stay inside your quarters during most of the week after the episode with the makeshift wall. Just leaving for short walks, brief human interaction with the remaining few people that still doesn’t hate your guts and food.

If your fight with the bees taught you something, it’s that you need to become stronger. In your mind, the first step is to get some proper protective gear. But you also need something that won’t encumber you, heavy armor would only impair your mobility, and your small body isn’t very tough anyway.
You swing by the quartermaster’s to requisition some armor. Today, Alrid is manning the desk, and he seems in a better mood than usual. He greets you with a nod and a grunt. You explain what you want armor, to keep yourself safe, which sends the man into deep thought. He scratches his chin. “Hmm, I don’t think I’ve got anything your size, sadly. Outsiders are usually bigger than you.” He seems to remember something, though, and moves to the backroom. He returns with what looks like a jacket. “Here, only thing I’ve got. If you want something better, you should have it custom-made.” With that, he returns to his occupations, leaving you with your armor. Upon closer inspection, it’s a padded vest, meant to be worn under clothes, or armor. It might not be the best protection, but it’s certainly better than nothing, and it’s about your size.

You grab your manuscript and head for the library, ready to continue the riveting story of your life, your thoughts on politics, and so on.
You think about what to write, and you’re immediately reminded of the events of last week. You decide to talk about [the new world, the people you’ve met, how strange this place is, your new resolve, born during your battle against the demonic bees.
You write quite a lot about your two favorite Outsiders, Melchior and Vira, and how much you like them. Your account of the battle is very messy, the events are still fresh in your mind, but simply thinking about it makes your head spin. This fight took a toll on you, even if you hate to admit it. But this is your autobiography, you feel like this is important. Your newfound knowledge about writing helps you quite a lot, though, you get through pages a lot quicker, and your handle on syntax is a lot better. You look around for something that would help you with your gunplay. Reloading just is too cumbersome, so you attempt to find something that will alleviate this problem. As you wander around the Factory, mumbling to yourself, you stumble upon the enchanting workshop. A weird man in robes is working, and you decide to bother him with your problem.
As you talk, he nods, and, inspired, goes to work. He requests that you bring him something, anything able to store bullets, and you run, fast, to the quartermaster, to get that. You manage to requisition a leather cartridge belt, and rush back to the workshop, where you find the mage hard at work.
You hand him the belt, and he starts carving runes into it, mumbling to himself.
About an hour later, he hands you the belt, beaming. “There you go ! I’m pretty proud of this one, I think it’s one of my finest pieces yet ! Go ahead, try it on !” You put on the belt, and slip the cartridges of your derringer where they’re supposed to go. The runed cartridge belt runs across your chest, going from your right shoulder to your left hit.
The enchanter leads you to an improvised shooting range near the workshop, looks like it’s the place where the enchanters test their creations. He instructs you to fire at a target, looking ecstatic. Shrugging, you do it, then instinctually reach for a cartridge to reload. But… When you open the mechanism of your weapon, you find a bullet in the chamber, ready to be fired. But you just shot. You open fire once more, check again. And yet again, a fresh bullet is ready to go.
The enchanter claps, bouncing in place. “Great success ! I was worried about the teleportation magic, but it works like a charm !” And with that, he leaves with a spring in his step, leaving you with your brand new bandolier. You don’t get it, but you’ve got more than what you bargained for, so you’re satisfied.

>You’ve got:
[Bandolier of Reloading] - At the start of combat, if this item is equipped, pick a firearm you own. For 5TP, you can reload this weapon without an action. Then roll 1d20, if the result is one the item stops working until repaired.

Everything goes as planned, the police is very surprised that the jewels were simply returned like that, and some people are spreading rumor that some type of vigilante must have catched Evelyn and done justice with his own hands. Unfortunately it seems that some of the people that roam the streets at night have seen your followers returning the loot, and they have been whispering around that you’re the one responsible by the incident.

...It has been a long week of writing for hours without pause, possessed by the flames of your faith, and you aren’t sure of when you fell asleep, but you’re awakened by Evelyn staring you from very close, as if she was ready to kiss you at any second. She’s surprised from your sudden awakening and bolt back to a straight position in a blink, almost as if she had teleported, only her unsure voice betraying her shame of being caught staring so closely.

“I-I-I-I brought breakfast, ah, uhm, eh, sorry for interrupting… Ah!”

She quickly marches out of the door.

You let that go for the moment as you regain your senses and take a break from the work… And then you notice that somehow you finally finished the whole old testament! It fills you with incredibly joy and a sense of sacred accomplishment!

Updated:
[Unfinished Bible] - It got the entire old testament written in its large pages, and a very resilient leather cover with an improvised cross draw on its front.

New Skill:
[Master of The Old Testament] (Industry) - No Combat Effect.
The mastery of the word of the old days, before christ was born.

Gained Condition:
[Blessing of the Faith] - You’re halfway done writing the word of God into this new world. Maybe it's just your god fearing heart discovering new strengths in where he never have looked before, or maybe its a manifestation of the celestial hierarchy but the truth is that you feel lighter and sheltered in the presence of God. As such, the following effects applies:
[First Blessing: Holy Immunity] - You don’t receive holy damage, you’re already sheltered in those energies.
[Second Blessing: Sacred Aura] - Gain +5 in all social rolls with pure hearted honest folk, children and your followers. Anyone who can see your aura will either be also affected by that bonus or be susceptible to +5 in your intimidation rolls against them. Demons will see you as a high level threat and will either flee or fight.
You bear the mark of the celestial order in your spirit.
[Third Blessing: Magic Exorcist Aura] - Any Dark/Demonic spell being activated near you need more 5 TP to activate and cause 10 damage on the user on being activated. If the target is weak to holy, any extra damage applies to that 10.
[Fourth Blessing: Celestial Favour] - Like Daniel who had to wait 21 Days before the angel came to his aid, sometimes you need to keep praying until something happens, but your prayers never go unanswered. If your first result in a “Pray” action isn’t a crit, you can continue praying each turn until you crit, but nothing happens until you crit. At any time, as a reaction, you can stop praying and accept the last result rolled.
[Fifth Blessing: Miracle Bearer] - You have a Miracle pool that is rolled everytime you crit in a praying action, be it inside or out of combat, one 1d20 will be rolled, and if the result is under your current points in it, a extraordinaire miracle will occur. It increases by remarkable acts of faith, but weakens with time if not increased somehow. It can’t go lower than one unless you somehow break your vows, lose the goodwill of heaven or have a faith crisis.
The Celestial Order is Watching You..

Miracle Pool: 1

After this last episode you decide to actually spend some time on helping Evelyn with the journey of having a new life with Christ. Having she helping people and doing good things more than what she already do is complicated, as none of your other followers other than those the old man and the strong boy want much to do with her, most only accepting her presence because of your authority. So you decide make her atone for her sins through ordeals, like fasting. But it doesn’t go as expected, she doesn’t feel like this fixing anything for the people she has wronged before, and keep acting as if she suspects that you’re punishing her for going to far with her affection with you or something…

[Evelyn is now confused and depressed] - She won’t do much until she digest the meaning of atonement, or is helped out of her sadness. At least she sounds like she thinks that she deserve it somehow.

You would like to be able to say that you focused in your objectives and acted like an adult in such a special occasion, but in reality, were close to most of the fights over food even if you didn’t really get involved in most of them, and got sidetracked by small talks with the low rank of the order instead of delving into the heart of the events and get a more profound understanding. At least you managed to get a few minutes with the Grandmaster, in where he explained to you that the Order is a very old organization that have its creation tied to the summoning ritual that brought you here, it seems that they aren’t the only one capable of employing outsiders and there is also other nations capable of it, but mostly with a lesser degree of success. It also seems that the magical problems you’re involved with aren’t new, but they are usually episodic things that happen “once in a while” whatever he meant by it. You also ask him as to what usually happens to Outsiders as time passes, and he avoid the issue by saying that it is a complicated matter that depends much on the person, but mention that there are older outsider around even within the Factory, and that some of the older outsiders even have established families, like his grandfather.

After the talk you’re left to digest the food and the information you just received, but don’t get much time for that as people try to involve you into their drunken shenanigans. You were actually one of the last ones to left the party, but you were also the one in best shape. Being able to heal yourself has its advantages.

Gained:
[Roleplay Payout] - Interact with any other attendee of the speech, up to a maximum of 3 Outsiders. You and the people you interact with get a bonus +5 to your action chosen.

The people at the infirmary were happy to have another capable pair of hands around, even if you doesn’t have that much experience with their usual tasks. It doesn’t take much effort or time to help around with minor stuff, move and rearrange supplies, clean and to find more space for them to work with. But you quickly find out that there isn’t really much that you can help with in the infirmary per se, as the main problem with it is the lost supplies and the improvised status of the installations as it had to be moved from its original place. It would be good if you could find out a better place for it with more space in which to work, but if this was a simple task the order would already have dealt with it.

You ask some higher ups about it, but they say to you that they are too occupied and with too little personnel to take care of moving it into a vacant space or refilling supplies at the city at the moment, and they keep avoiding the issue until the weekends and the only thing you have actually put time into was taking care of Alejandro.

And talking about Alejandro… He seems to be recovering pretty well for someone who was THAT close to dying, way more faster than Earth would allow it, in fact, you’re surprised that it is actually possible to recover in such pace, but then, Outsider magic also shouldn’t be possible.

[The Body] - Alejandro is at -10% HP now, and you estimate that he’ll be good to go after two more weeks.

Weirdly enough, you hear him mumbling in a weird language with an feminine voice that does not sound like you remember from hearing him speak at the dining room at all… You have no idea of what it should mean, but he often repeats a word that you manage to burn into you memory… And then, one day, he stops mumbling in his sleep. Leaving you with no real evidence that it even happened in the first place. The nurses just ignore it as one more of those weird things that often happen with some outsiders.

[Learned a Strange Word] - Maybe there is someone that knows it’s meaning.

You ask around a lot, there is some know alchemists around, even if it is a rare profession, but you go for the best you could possible find, and you get three names:

>Alistote Chevalier Junicles, The Royal Apothecary
>Pretorius von Tranenbunch, the Best Potion-Maker in Burhthic
>Nabaris Narenluch Nurenladan, The pioneer and genius of Industrial Scale Alchemical Engineering

They are all pretty famous for their achievements in the field, but most people that you talk about them with doesn’t know much of how to contact them or how they are as persons, as if they were some elusive god’s form some modern mythology that you often hear being mentioned in stories but never actually meet. So even if they are somewhat public figures, they seem to be too immersed in their jobs and not really much easy to find. But somehow, you manage to track one of them down and even get an appointment for next week. You’re not sure about how you actually managed to convince such occupied person to spend a bit of their time with you, but you suspect that it has to do with your Outsider status, even if the Order may not be involved in this case.

[Choose one of them and use another action to meet them. It can be either Major or Minor.]

As you enter Everett Gym’s you notice that it’s more like a boxing gym than a dedicated Martial Arts Dojo. Everett receives you with a big hug. All the other gym attendants gather up as he calls them up. “This is Neo! They guy that could take one of my punches!” You are now the center of attention and everyone starts to question you. You feel swarmed until a big fat guy, sitting at the corner, breaks the commotion. You can’t take a good look at him since the shadows of the dim-light gym cover his torso and face. He doesn’t even moves to talk.

- Well, I don’t believe ya’ kid.
- Are you distrusting of my word?
- Let him prove himself again. I won’t believe until I see it with my own eyes.
-Neo, are you okay with this?

The crowd starts to pressure you in. If you survived one of Everett punches before, would another one be too much?

You climb the rudimentary fighting ring with Everett and you take one of his Legendary punches again without flinching. You are still standing on your feet and everyone is completely impressed. Except the guy who called Everett out. He takes a step out front and you can see him a little more clearly. Short hair and an unkept beard.

- Well, he can take a hit. But can he dance?

Before Everett could even say a word he is already up in the ring and in your face. You feel confident, you remember how to fight military style, right? Right?! You adopt what you remember is a Melee fighting stance and…

You get punched back and forth between him and the strings like a ragdoll. After a few bounces, you are still standing straigh. Everett stops the fight and the other gym attendees start cheering at you.

-I’m proud of you, Neo. Not everyone can handle Brute one on one.

He goes on telling the story of Brute. He considers him a friend with a very caustic personality. He sometimes border on being plain mean. But Everett understands him. A few years back they had an accident bordering the coasts of Portocali. Just don’t ask him about it.

He changes the subject and says:

- So, what did you learned today?

You start to gain an appreciation to fighting with your bare fists and without the safety of an armor, shield and sword.

After sitting down with Silva, you tell her about how and why you were involved with criminals in the first place. You tell her that you needed to make sense of what’s really going on around in the world, to which she responds with a grunt. “Maybe. But criminals don’t exactly have the correct outlook on the world either, you know?” She counters. “If you really want to make sense of the world, you could always ask us.” Silva states.

When you tell her that you can’t make any promises to stay away from shady dealings and criminal activity, she just frowns. “Well, I certainly can’t convince you not to. I’m not your keeper, after all.” Silva says to you. “But please, ask me about it before you get into trouble. I can’t bail you out all the time, even if I’d like to.”

“Just… be careful, alright? I can’t turn a blind eye to what you’re doing, but I will give you some leeway.” Silva says with finality.

You walk through the market, looking for someone that would be able to provide you with a suitable weapon. A kitchen knife is nice, but of you want to battle, you’ll need something more appropriate.

Suddenly, as you walk, you hear a thunderclap, and flinch a little at the sudden sound. It’s still a little stormy outside, and today’s especially overcast. You get your bearings back, and notice that a strange man is standing in front of you. Was he always there ? You could’ve sworn he wasn’t a little earlier. You wonder for a second if you should avoid him, but he speaks, with a raspy voice. “So, yer looking for a weapon, lil lass ?” He chuckles, but it sounds more like a cough.

Wary, you nod, and the man opens his washed off coat, revealing the glint of metal inside. Several weapons are neatly placed in sheaths all over the inner surface of the coat.
You immediately notice three weapon that would suit you just fine. One, is a long and thin dagger, clearly designed to puncture more than to slash. It glints menacingly.

The second one looks a little sturdier, shorter, though something about the weapon seems off. You notice that the blade has been carefully wrapped in bandages, as if the merchant wanted to avoid contact with its edge.

Finally, the last one is closer to a knife, but it’s no kitchen knife. Instead, it’s a gruesome-looking hunting knife, with serrated teeth at the base of the blade, and a robust grip.

“So, anything striking yer fancy, lass ? I’m feelin’ generous, so you can have one for free.” He chuckles once more, and lets you pick. You think for a while, then choose one.

Before you can thank the man, however, another thunderbolt blinds you, and when you open your eyes, the man’s gone. You wonder if this was all a dream, then realize that the weapon is still there. Strange.

You find the butcher at work behind the counter. He’s bald, rotund man with a bloodstained apron, and greets you jovially when you enter his shop. You immediately begin to ask for an apprenticeship. The butchers sets his knife down on the counter, and rubs his triple chin pensively.
You show him that you’re used to working with knives, and mention your experiences in the Order’s kitchen. That seems to convince him, and he decides to take you as a part-timer for now.

Some snakes are known for spitting venom at their opponents. Somehow, you find that very inspiring. Inspiring enough that you wish to emulate these noble creatures in their spitting pursuits.

You find a nice, secluded place, when no one will see your horrible, horrible powers, and begin to work on your own body structure. Making your acid more potent means you also need to make your saliva more basic, so your mouth doesn’t melt from your own spit. You begin by doing that, until the stinging sensation in your mouth stops.

Then, you begin to make your glands more potent. It’s a balancing act to avoid hurting yourself, but you manage to get a better formula. You then go through at trial and error period to improve the spitting process. It’s simple, your spit at a target, make an alteration to your mouth, then spit again to compare the results. It’s exhausting and you get pretty thirsty from all the liquid your force out of your body, but after a while, you manage to get quite a bit more range. You make note of the changes, then revert your hypertrophied salivary glands back to their regular shape, and rub your cheeks. You mouth feels dry, and you have a disgusting taste on your tongue. You leave your training ground to get some well-deserved water.

>You’ve got

You look around the library for books about the fauna of this world. There’s bound to be something interesting that you can add to your repertoire. And while you find such a book, you discover that it’s pretty much useless to you. It seems like it’s been written at least a few centuries ago, and the information you get out of it is… Dubious, at best. The descriptions are extremely loose, the charts detailing the anatomy of the animal are inaccurate, and you’re pretty sure the author either invented some things, or has no idea how an animal works. A lot of the feats described in there seem biologically impossible. You set down the book, disgusted by this waste of time. Looks like the library of the order holds nothing of interest for you.

You practices around with your magic sword for the most part of the first half of the week, it falls down from the sky into your hands every time you summon it, but somehow, it seems that no one else is able to see it besides you, well, at least the common people can’t, you didn’t asked the other outsiders about it yet, to be fair. As your training proceeds you learn how to instinctively understand the flow of mana between the magical circuits in your blade and your body, as if you two are one, through this, you become able of reacting with max speed through your blade, as if it was just another member of your body, allowing you to strike at opponents in a counter attack or because of an exposed back when the opportunity shows itself, without even tiring yourself from extra effort! …Or at least that is what you expect to do with it, as you didn’t really a had a live opponent since you got here… Well… There was that bee demon… But he escaped before you could close on him, hmmmm… Maybe you could ask someone for a duel, it seems that this already happened before and one of the guys was an sword user like you, or at least that is what the rumors in the factory say.

Currently, you find yourself in Burthic, the capital and largest city in the Island of Oshaelys Tail. Burthic is home to a large amount of Nobles and working middle class and is located in the middle of the island and control the lands and manage it toward the other cities. Their current government system functions as Constitutional Monarchy The long standing royal family declines as the queen’s influence diminishes. The current Queen is Queen Margaery II, a newly appointed one to the throne. But as nobility ruled and influences the cities as much as they can, they became naturally despised by the lower class as the amount of resources and access to information make more plentiful after the technological revolution of the steam machine.

The other cities/lands other than Burthic is Tatedil the traditional city which holds mostly forests and uses some land to the west of Burthic for farmlands and mostly agriculture. Swadedal the most technological city holds tons of power and many inventors and builders live here. Many educated painters and stone carvers from Burthic end up here to create something original in hope to bring it to Burthic and advance society. Luteshvia the mountainous and rugged city though small territory, holds the largest bays and coastal defense. They manage other posts around the island and from the shore, can be often seen scouting. Goyavetland the dry lands have a more higher land area and is more arid and hot. Forest fires are common here and stop settlements from spreading. Then there is the mines of Nauerndern to the far west of the Island that holds high rock formations. Entering caves usually ends up into lakes inside or tunnels around the island.

You learn much culture about these people. Many appreciate realism and nationalism in their art and stories but the recent fads have been of romanticism and abstract art. Painters come and go to make a name of themselves and to anyone it was a delicacy to have such skills. Architecture is complex and varying with all types of buildings can be seen everywhere. Jewelry is also marveled as it is a sign of wealth.

The main three most powerful families are the royal family, the Lovecrafts and the Goldhearts, with the two of the most notorious lineages of Burhthic being the Phantombloods and a lineage involved in slave traffic that you didn’t manage to get the name of.

People are somewhat afraid of Outsiders it seems, but somehow they don’t manage to recognized you at first glance as one, as wandering artists are somewhat common here on the capital, and they are notorious for being exotic. Magic also doesn’t seem to be common on this world, but you don’t know in depth the truth about it. The people do fear demons, though, and it seems that for them anything magic and strange may fit the description.

And they don’t understand manga art, what a terrible thing.

Light has often been associated with healing. At least, in fiction, it’s often two things that go along well. So in a world with magic, it’s not that big of a leap to believe that one would lead to another.
Going from there, you imagine you could probably create some sort of healing spell using your light spells as a base. It shouldn’t be too hard.
You spend the rest of the afternoon trying to get a light spell to heal you. At first, it doesn’t do much except illuminate the area, but you begin to notice some changes, as if your magic was reacting to your will.
You end up with a ball of pure white light, floating in midair. While the light it gives off is strong, it’s not blinding. When you expose your skin to the light, you notice that dead, dry skin starts to fall off, immediately replaced by some new, immaculate skin. The healing effect however, doesn’t seem that strong, it’s more of a gradual thing.
At least, that’s your theory. You decide to go test it at the Order’s infirmary, and try to find a wound that is still pretty benign. Wouldn’t want to worsen the condition of your patient by accident.
You find a cook with a shallow cut on the back of his wrist, and ask if he’d like to be healed. He accepts, and you get to work. You conjure your light, and focus it on the wounded area. Slowly, the wound begins to close, until it’s a fine red line, that soon turns pink, then disappears entirely. The process takes a handful of seconds to complete. The cook looks at his hand in disbelief, then thanks, mentioning how impressive the outsiders are. You’re just satisfied your new spell is working as intended.

>You’ve got
[Heavenly Light] - (Inspiration) - As a Minor Combat action, you materialize an orb of healing light, about the size of your fist. It will float around a target and attempt to heal its wounds. Pay 10 TP to materialize the orb. At the start of your turn, you must pay 10 TP, or lose the orb. The orb can exist in a radius of 30 feet around you, and heals 1d20+ Sorcery HP per turn. As a shift action, you can reassign the orb’s target. The healing counts as Holy.
A floating orb of light that slowly cures wounds.

As you read through the available books, you realize that alchemy is a science, almost as much as it is magic. The use of symbols, reagents, and so on, everything’s been documented, making the results more reliable than many types of more “freeform” magic.
That requires you to learn the effects of every symbol, of every reagent, but you come from a family of biochemists, and you actually find the process of learning alchemy familiar. Maybe it’s because outsiders wrote these, but they remind you of your textbooks.
You stay in the library until late at night, fascinated by this whole new science at your fingertips. Already, your brain is coming up with myriad applications for this new discipline. The scientist in you is shaking in anticipation.
After a solid few days of studying, you emerge from the library, you brain filled to the brim with knowledge. But you aren’t quite done just yet. You need to check something first before you get your first full night of sleep in a while.
You rush to the lab, and are immediately assaulted by familiar scents. As weird as it sounds, this place reminds you of the labs in your college. You already find an outsider hard at work on some kind of project, and his face rings a bell but you ignore him for now. You’ve got something to check.
Sadly, it seems this lab isn’t equipped for alchemy. It’s got plenty mundane chemistry tools, but nothing for the more esoteric discipline that is alchemy. You decide to head out, since you have an idea.
That’s when you remember where you saw the outsider in the lab. Back in college, you read a paper he wrote, and saw his picture. That man was… Is doctor Atom Glass ! What a twist of fate. Maybe you should introduce yourself ?
But before you do that, you head to the requisition department, and complain to the quartermaster about the lab. How are you supposed to further your studies of alchemy without a proper lab. He thankfully seems in a good mood, and tells you that he’s going to see what he can do, and asks you to return to the lab later.
The next day, you drop by the lab, and discover that a corner has been transformed into an alchemist’s workshop. You find a lot of reagents you’ve come to be familiar without on the shelves, and tools to work them.
You look through the carefully labeled containers. Albedo, demon dust, ground moonstone, sulphur, and many others. More than enough to start your career as an alchemist.

>You’ve got
Alchemy (Industry) - No combat effects

You twist and turn in your bed, trying to get some much needed sleep after what happened to you last week. But it’s no use, you can barely fall asleep, and when you do, your slumber is agitated. You almost wake up more exhausted than you were. And the storm raging outside makes things even more complicated. You’re frequently awakened by a thunderclap, or by some water that seeped into your room. You don’t feel like this helped you recover at all.

YOU’RE ANGRY. ANGRY AT BEES.

THEY HAVE STOLEN YOUR HONOR. AND A PRETTY GIRL. NOBODY STOLES PRETTY GIRLS FROM YOU.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH

YOU SCREAM AS LOUD AS YOU CAN WHILE YOU SHIFT INTO A HORSE STANCE. WITH YOUR MANLY SPIRIT PRODUCING A BURNING AURA THAT'S HIGH ENOUGH TO PIERCE THE HEAVENS.

IT GO THROUGH THE CLOUDS. THE BIRDS FLY AWAY. SOME PEOPLE OF THE ORDER COME TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON. A SMALL EARTHQUAKE STARTING RUMBLING UNDER YOU. BUT YOU CONTINUE SCREAMING WITH ALL OF YOUR FLAMING PASSION OF TRUE MANLY SPIRIT!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

YOU’RE NOT EVEN FEELING PAIN ANYMORE. THE ADRENALINE IS SO STRONG THAT YOU ACTUALLY FIND YOURSELF STRONGER THAN BEFORE EVEN WHILE BEING SO WOUNDED. YOU START WALKING THROUGH THE PLACE SPLITTING ROCKS IN HALF. THEN THE ROCKS AREN’T ENOUGH AND YOU START SCREAMING TO THE HEAVENS IN HOPE SOME DEMON HEARS YOU SO THAT YOU CAN PUNCH ITS FACE IN!

...You’re not sure for how long you’ve been doing that, but when you take counscience of yourself, you’ve been punching things for DAYS… How did you even got to eat? Oh, wait, it turns out that those big spiders and their even bigger cousins have some meat on them, and that you were pissed enough to punch fish to death while they tried to swim, and that even the birds weren’t fast enough to get out of the ground in time to avoid being punched too. It doesn’t explain how you got fire to cook all these random animals, but it seems that you managed to do it somehow, and maybe this endless fragments of rocks have something to with that, eh, who cares, you feel a lot better now. In fact, better than you’ve ever felt since you got here, even if you’re still tired from this berserking and fighting wildlife…

>Condition:
[Terror of the Woods] - You punched to death many of the terrible creatures of the forest, like giant spiders, giant boars and even a bear. Nobody punches a bear and escape unharmed. But you did. Now the forest dwellers fear the hell out of you, and even the most intelligent and mysterious creatures will prefer talking than having you beserk again.

[Blessing of the Forest Spirits - You’re healed, how did that happen? You remember dreaming about some pretty lady with green hair wearing a very lewd bikini made of leaves… But that was probably just a dream.

>New Skills:
[Don’t Fear the Reaper] - (Resolve) - (Passive): You ignore the penalties of [Weak] and [Dying], and instead you gain +1 in all accuracy rolls and +10 in all damage rolls when at [Dying].
A last minute boost of adrenaline fuelled by the strength of your mainly spirit when you are at the doors of tengoku. In another words, you become stronger and more precise when you are close to dying, and ignore all the pain even before you reach that point.

[All In] - (Might) - (Passive): Gain +10 AD when under [Weak] or [Dying] Condition.
The perseverance to bet all of your remaining strength in each attack when at dangerous states of health.

You go to the requisition office just after coming back to the world of the living. It seems like the order was worried that something may have happened to you, but everyone was too hesitant about you still being enraged as they could still hear the screams coming from the forest. No matter, you’re okay now, and you’re ready to move on to your next goals, so, the next step should be making a dojo. You don’t exactly have a good backstory with dojos, being a delinquent and all, but it's never too late to start properly learning something.

But then, you meet “Grumpy Ned”, and it didn’t matter what he actually said to you, what matter is that he shouldn’t have scoffed at you and doubted your fighting skills in front of you. And that's why he ended up being pushed in the face and hitting his back on a wall, after his chair broke, that is.

What you didn’t expected is that he would come instantly back up, and start throwing punches back at you. What led to a short but messy fight in the middle of the office. It would have continued and he would probably have won on sheer skill and fighting experience, you quickly noticed, but as he activated your adrenaline rush, you Ki Bursted him through a window of the second floor.

Fortunately enough, he not only survived the fall but started laughing about it, took all the blame for the incident, and actually signed all the papers for your “Fighting Center” or whatever is the official name he gave it.

[New Structure: “The Arena”] - +5 to rolls regarding fighting skills and techniques that involve muscular memory and physical training. It’s stylized as an dojo, even if it isn’t that good in reproducing that oriental feeling about the place.
A physical training center focused in helping honing mundane combat skills.

>31 - m
You hear about half of the speech before Grumpy Ned shows up and sits besides you, then he starts to happily go on about how he didn’t had a fight like this in years. You try to ignore him at first, but then starts reminiscing about some of the best fights he ever had in his life and gets your attention. Sadly, it was hard enough to hear him and Kjellberg at the same time, and it was simply impossible to compete with Melchior and Priere for a taste of the culinary of your home nation while trying to still pay attention to his stories.

You run up inside the Requisition’s Office AGAIN, with another “GREAT IDEA” they sigh on the spot… And the place seems like a tornado just went through it somehow. Eh, it probably isn’t that bad, as Grumpy Ned seems to be in a good mood, and Grumpy Ned is never in a good mood!

You start explaining you new idea about a triple barrel shotgun and… They stop you again, and one of the clerks go call somebody.... Whaaaaaaaaat, that can’t be, does that mean tha-

Yep, it does, one of the new gunsmiths of the order was working in a prototype gun. And the short and chubby teenager with glasses seems very enthusiastic that someone had the same idea as him. So happy, in fact, that he gives you his new prototype for testing!

You go outside to practice some techniques under the gray skies, the spear seems to be okay with a change of scenario and you get to do some exercise and actually repeat some attacks to exhaustion against imaginary opponents. Your movements become more precise, but sometimes you have the impression that it is actually the spear doing some minor last minute course corrections to secure the fluid flow of motion of certain strikes, huh.

New Skill:

[Jousting] - (Finesse) - (Passive): +1 to all Accuracy rolls involving Spears, Lances, Naginatas, Glaives and other similar weapons being used to attack.
Proficiency in using weapons with long handles.

Well, there wasn’t any Major information being easily accessible, but the whole raid thing seems to be a big deal, even more as it is the first official mission that you receive. You’re not sure about what it would mean for them if someone refused participating on it, but they surely don’t seem happy about the people who didn’t even cared about showing up. Some of the other outsiders are having a good time and interacting with their social circles and newly made acquaintances… But here you are being quiet in the corner of a big table. The nice girl that usually talks to you didn’t showed up, well, none of the teenage girls did, and it seems like one of them was even recently kidnapped. Thats a shame. You wonder about how this is going to end up, and for the first time, the risk seems to be real… What are you thinking? What are all of the people in this room thinking? Okay, the Order guys have chosen being here… But what about the Outsiders? How can they be this easy-going with their lives at stake like this? You’re not a coward yourself, but you’re an adult, or at least should be and feel like it, and after getting hit by a lightning you’re not so inclined to playing with fire without a good reason… Still… May have your reasons already… But that’s up to you to discover alone and…

The Grandmaster has been staring at you with some intimidating look of interest for a while now, what.

He starts talking to you about the raid and some minor stuff, but then starts inquiring about your background and starts making questions about the workings of… the Internet? How… Wait, probably some Outsider talked with him about it and he also heard that you had a background involving technology. It doesn’t lead to anything out of the ordinaire, but tells you that he would like to talk about such things again when you both have time, and then gives some further explanation about what they plan for the raid. It seems like they will arrange an expedition on carriages to follow the fortress around before finally ambushing it in a certain point that will allow the Outsider to embark on it while the Order distracts the guards or something… But he doesn’t get to keep talking further about the topic, as other people demand his attention. After this, you don’t get much human interaction, excluding maybe that little food fight over your favorite type of national culinaire, but, hey, almost everyone is fighting over something in this table, even with the incredible amount of food up for grabs.

Its less formal than what you have thought, but you still feel a little out of place as soon as the speech ends and the Outsiders start being hectic about food and their usual preferences and problems regarding their relations with each other. The Order’s personnel is somewhat on guard at the start of the commemoration, but some of them already know the Outsiders and break the ice, and by the ends of the night everyone is just chatting and drinking together like there wasn’t that much of a culture difference to begin with. It still exists, though, as you notice some disconnection between opinions of the two groups, differences at times great enough to spiral into some sort of fight, but that are mostly avoided by both sides at such early moment of cooperation. Still… You feel like the lower ranks were probably instructed to not touch certain topics, as they constantly look for their superiors when the talks go in certain direction, such as slavery, for example.

At some point by the end of the night you get some attention from the Grandmaster, he seems somewhat interested in your skills in the lab and the practical and immediate benefits they could bring to the “Temple”. It seems like they had problems with another man of science before, and that slot of influence may be somewhat open right now… The Grandmaster even tells you that he doesn’t see necessity of you joining any of the military forces in the moment, as they aren’t that desperate for reinforcements, and your talents would probably be better used in the lab.

After that brief exchange, nothing really worth mentioning happened, and you checked out of the party relatively early, as it wasn’t much of the type of place you prefer.

You were kidnapped, and the first thing you should do is not going into panic, what you already failed.
So instead, you try to fix it by making things go backwards in your mind, much similar to what your body does when you get hurt. You start analysing things step by step from the present moment to a point in where everything was still in control, while trying to make sense out of each step of what happened without falling into panic this time. It takes some attempts before you calm down, but after you get a structure of reason right things become pretty simple, and you start to be able to back track your mental actions and discern your real feelings with maturity that you’ve never really had when you were living in japan… You feel like in some weird way those bad experiences actually made you stronger instead of traumatizing you completely.

You also discover that you have spend days receded into your own mind, as if in catatonic state, and are still only alive because Alrendar have been forcing water through your lips and down throat for this whole time… You can’t help but blush at the shameful feeling of doing such a crazy things for this big amount of time, but you at your heart you still feel that it was worth it.

>New Skill

[Mental Rewind] - (Inspiration) - Costs 30TP - By spending a Major Action you can rewind your mind to an earlier point of time in which it wasn’t being affected by some psychic influence or physical stimuli. In case of being under the Influence of another power you first need to beat the user of the power in a contest of his Sorcery against your Inspiration before being able of activating it. In case of physical or mental penalties they will come back as soon as you do another Major Action if the cause of the stimuli is still present (such as the [Weak] status).

You try to recover from your trauma by relaxing, you could backtrack, but that doesn’t heal your emotions, only help you to discover what you’re truly feeling, and at this moment you just want to hide in a hole and cry for your mom.

YABAI, you just realized you left your mom in the other world!

And not only her! But also all your friends and family! How could you not pay attention to that detail until now?

You take long to digest all of that and recover from the tornado of emotions soaring through your being, but at some point after some days… You’re pretty at peace with your fate… it will take time to get used to this and have the emotional scars heal completely, but you’re not freaking out as you were with it… Still… You feel alone and doesn’t much know what is going to be of your life after all this… And there is also the whole thing about being kidnapped by bees and everything…

"S'no problem, really..." He munches on a piece of bread, then swallows it. "If you've got any questions, just ask..."

Tabatha takes the piece of bread from Tatsuo's hand.

"You really don't want to mess with me, when I'm the lady running the kitchen."

Tabatha starts to freak out.

"Get your feet off the table!

"Yeah..." He nods to the old man, silently thanking him for not prying further.

He winces when she starts screaming, plugging his ears with his fingers to endure the most of it. "My feet aren't even on the table are you actually out of your mind !?"
>>

"Well, bread is not in today breakfast. Today we are having waffles!"

Tabatha examines the sliced bread and lowers her voice

"If you want todays special, get in line and don't take things from the pantry!"

"Huh ?" He notices that everyone sitting here has indeed waffles in his plates. "...You're right, I guess." He sits reluctantly, his ears still ringing from the screaming. "Could've said it nicely though, I'm still new here... Geez."

"T-thanks" He was a bit wary of the girl's temper now, but she seemed calm now, and he was pretty hungry. Maybe this was her way to start a ceasefire. "I'm Tatsuo."
He dug in, until the girl mentioned him again. Or, to be more accurate, mentioned his nickname. He disliked it. To his ears, the name of "Hero" had an ironic echo. He didn't feel like he was worthy of such a title. "... I'm no hero."

>>2402172
He gritted his teeth at the mention of his archnemesis. "They're assholes and I hate them." Realizing that everyone was waiting to follow up on that statement, and began thinking. "I don't know that much about them, I just fought one... And lost. I mean, I guess they're pretty much as intelligent as you and I, they can wield weapons, fly, they have a poisonous stinger." He winced, a phantom pain feeling his abdomen at the mention of the stinger. His physical wounds had healed, but the mental scars remained. "And I'm going to pay them back tenfold for what they did..."
>>
>go to the dining hall
>I sit on the side of the two strangers, and pretend to sleep with my head on the table

"Nice to meet you, Tatsuo."

Tabatha takes a seat next to him.

"Sure it is a shame that they took Angelica away, but you tried your best, and you are alive. And that's more than we expect of everyone"

Tabatha looks into the mess hall, trying to remember all the missing faces, and then back to Tatsuo.

"We had some Outsiders that died on their first days here, and they didn't even fought vermin like you did. But we don't talk about them around here..."

Tabatha takes a glance at the line.

"Blüm, if you want waffles, go make that line over there." Tabatha points to the line.

>>2402243
"Sorry for cutting you off, she's still so young and we need to care for her."

Tabatha looks over to make sure Blume isn't hearing this.

"Look, I wouldn't beat myself over it so much. There's the raid into the hive that the Order is planning, and maybe there we could get Angela back before its too late."

Tabatha double checks. Blume is getting her waffles from the main cook.

There are some gossips in the Markets. Painful transformations and corruption to those who become in contact with the demons. Really painful wounds and transformations to those that accept the vermin. They target the young ones, childs like Blüm are the main targets for converting them. And they make them lose their humanity... After that, there's no saving. Or so I have heard.

Name: Sylvia
Race: Fairy
Backstory: Sylvia was a fairy from another world. Those faeries were constructs made by the gods to be the stewards of the world and take care of it in order to fulfil the task they have been given the power to adapt and change their bodies to fit other environments and the power to speak the words of power the language of creation allowing to talk with reality itself. Sadly Sylvia was on the bottom of fey hierarchy being just a small fairy still her life was pretty good. That is until her ''friends'' decided to pull a prank and tie her up and throw her out of fairy forestthere she got pecked to death by birds. Now she finds herself in a strange and unknown human city (Technically this is still Isekai)

"I fought with them myself. The workers are weak. It's the princesses... the women you have to look out for."

>>2404320
"It's far too dangerous for you, or anyone else for that matter, to go alone. The infiltration team, if we decide to go with that plan, needs to be strong enough to take care of anyone protecting Angela. That means at minimum, 3 people."
>>
>>2404320
Hmmm...that sounds incredably dangerous, are you sure?
>>2404321
Next week...hmmm, that should give me some time to look if there's anything about them
>>2404335
If they have workers it means they also have soldiers, but first things first, where is their base or hive located?

"W-well, might as well I-I could just help and clear the way? I'm not sure, you are the boss."

Tabatha pats her concealed blade.

"I could help clearing the way, but maybe not so much in taking out the princesses..."
>>
>>2404228
So is this character ok?
>>
>>2404360
"With a little support, I can probably beat a princess. I've been training for this."

"From the little I got from the old man's speech, their base is a flying fortress, surrounded by a magical storm. They currently flying away from the factory, which is why they want us to strike soon."
>>
>>2404454

We'd rather discuss it in the Discord.

There's a conflict with the setting. The setting was originally a Low-Fantasy Setting with us as Mortals being the protagonists of this stories and leaving deities to do their thing.

Fairies, as a fantasy race, is something that borders deities in our fantasy. Although, if you went with a human backstory BUT got transformed during the summoning (See: Cerulian Fate, our resident Catboy) it would be more allowable. Thought it is still technically Isekai, all of our Outsiders were thought to be humans mortals from Earth.

We have no real issue with your current chosen skills tho.

>>
>>2404515
"You're assuming the princess will be alone. Something I'd highly doubt as being the case." Malcolm closes his eyes, bringing a hand to his chin in thought.

"If they are anything like bees back on earth, smoke can become our greatest ally once inside the fortress."
>>
>>2404515
A floating fortress? Protected by storm? Well that complicates matters even more now...did they invent any blimps yet?

"Well. Let's try making armor again-- and may I ask /why/ you keep making miniature weapons, Oscar? It seems... unnecessary? Let's go with redundant, seeing as how anyone capable of golemancy-- not that I know any individuals, mind-- should be able to make at least a... human sized golem. Regardless, help me make some armor, will you?"
> M: Make a set of prototype armor.
Then I'll try to see if any of the enchanting techniques I've learned so far will be of any help. You never know.
> M: Enchant the prototype armor.
After I've done that, I'll turn to the books on what more I can actually do with enchanting. Runes? The ability to enchant things with actual spells, perhaps? Who knows.
> m: Look into more powerful enchantments. Study, if that's what it means.

If you do not choose this option, you’ll need to spend a Major action in order to join the raid next turn. It’s expected that you’ll have access to weaponry and protective garments before the start of the battle.

>(Major)I can't have people tracking me by mind reading my attuned followers, so I'm making that "Strain" even stronger by adding "Neural Damping" to the skills given by it... I can't test it on a tree, though, as it would be hard to discover if it is in effect... So Blume will be my patient zero, I'm going to take her to the tree and test my new creation on her, making her my first "Attuned" human.(Make a new "Strain" Skill that adds Neural Damping to the list of sills given by my infection.

>(Minor) I've been too much time away from little Blume, so I'll hangout with her under the tree for a few days and relax while talking about life back on earth and teaching her how to use and hide her new powers.(Rest)
+15(Party Harder) +10 (Heroe's Feast) +5 (Earthian Banquet)(+5 to me for resting and +5 to one of her actions after this?)

>(Major) Neo doesn't seem to be free to practice with me, a shame, I'm going to make official that Lizard Hide power that I improvised in my first fight with Neo when we were firstly brought here... Well, I guess I'm going to provoke Tatsuo into kicking me instead of tha tree trunk, that should be enough to test my new Hide(Create: Lizard Hide(Resolve)... Like Eagle Fist, but binding TP for DEF instead of AD, 30 for 30 would be good. Keep the color of the skin being human-like, and increase the density to avoid people noticing that there is something wrong with me when I'm using that.)+15 (Heroe's Feast and Earthian Banquet) +5(Spell Repository) +Skills +5 from Roleplaying(also giving +5 to Tatsuo's action).
