5:00 AM. October 11th, 1988.

"So are we looking for Dio in the province of Cairo or the capital of Cairo?" Polnareff shakes you awake before exiting out of the rented van.

"The capital of course. It would take us weeks to find Dio if we were to search the entirety of Cairo. Besides, Dio made it pretty easy for us to find him after scaring most of the population out of the city." Avdol says.

"The Foundation said Holly doesn't have more than 2 weeks left on her." Joseph stoically stares at the nearby pyramids. "We're not necessarily running out of time, but I don't like the thought of seeing my daughter suffering more than she already has been."

"Agreed. We might not have a good lead but finding a yellow mansion on the capital shouldn't be that hard." Kakyoin adds.

"What can you tell us about Cairo, Avdol?" You ask the egyptian man for a quick briefing on the province.
"It's the largest metropolitan area in the Arab world!" He proudly points to the city blocks in the distance. "We Egyptians owe this city all the credit for turning us into an economic powerhouse in Africa. Attracting tourists all over the globe to see our historical sites and landmarks has made it possible for us to maintain the living and cultural standards of a place like New York City or London."
"I take it that Dio must have ruined the tourism around here then." Jotaro says.
"Indeed, the media has been trying to make sense of what's been happening on the capital lately. Dio has made entire families disappear on Cairo, regardless if it was a tourist or just a random local going to work. That might sound a bit selfish but I'd like to hope that none of them are people I've met, although that's unlikely." The fortune teller laments.
"It must be hard on you, We're all leaving after this journey, but being in Cairo to live after the aftermath of Dio's encounter and try to make things back the way they were here will take you a lot of determination." Kakyoin ponders.
"I'll let you give the final blow on Dio if it helps!" Polnareff gives his friend a nudge to cheer him up.
"No point in standing around then, it's time to search for that blonde asshole and give some payback." Joseph says. heading down the hill with the rest of the group.
...

"Welcome foreigners! What would you like?" A local bartender says after the group found a big, crowded bar to have their breakfast.
"Hello. We're currently searching for a yellow mansion down by the capital. Do you happen to know where that is?" Joseph asks.
"Sir, this isn't a traveling agency. You have to order something if you want good information." He says, pointing to the glasses behind him.
"Fine. We'll have 5 iced teas." Avdol informs.

"Make it 6." You signal over to the bartender to add another glass of iced tea, to which he pours from a jar and hands everyone but Iggy a drink.

You look for a few sugar packets to add onto your tea but when you open up the first one you see your friends gulping down their drinks in a few seconds and placing them back on the table in unison.

"Eh? Why didn't you guys wait for me?" You whine after being left out of that cool synchronized gesture.

"Nah, can't say I know about a place like that. The bartender shrugs.

"I see. Guess we'll just order something to eat and leave then." Joseph says.

"Would it help we used your Hermit Purple to get a clue on where Dio is?" You ask Joseph while Avdol pays to order some food.

"I don't think so. Dio's presence has been getting harder to pinpoint his location with Hermit Purple. My stand is already pretty vague with it's ability too, the best picture I got from my previous attempts was an overhead view of the entire capital, which doesn't show a single mansion from it." Joseph informs.

"That's can't be good... Even when we're this close he still finds a way to hide from us?" A frustrated Kakyoin speaks up.

"Come on, everyone. I'm sure we'll be just fine without those pictures to guide us." Polnareff says.

"You've been pretty optimistic ever since yesterday, haven't you?" Jotaro asks.

"Yeah. Hanging out with a normal girl like Malena helped me take the edge off. We cleaned her place, went to the marketplace to buy her groceries and then we--" Polnareff visibly tenses up after realizing the entire group was paying attention to his story. "I mean, we uhhh... Malena and I-- No, She just kinda-- ehm... Why don't I go around asking people about the mansion? The food will probably take some time to arrive."
Polnareff excuses himself out of the conversation and walks around the bar to pester the locals.

"He didn't do what I think he did, did he?" You ask the rest of the group.

"I can't say I'm surprised, but it's weird to actually hear this from Polnareff." Joseph comments.

"I hope they stay together. Malena seems to be a nice woman, maybe she will put some sense on him." Avdol smiles.

"Good grief..." Jotaro stares at Polnareff asking about the mansion around the bar.

After a few minutes, the food arrives on the table for everyone to eat. Although the meal was good, it was shortly interrupted by Polnareff calling for everyone from another table.

"Hey guys! I found a guy who knows about the mansion!" Polnareff waves, making everyone leave their plates aside to reach the french stand user.

"A mansion on the capital of Cairo, huh?" A man on his mid 40s says, shuffling a deck of cards in his hands. "Do you mean the one where that started all the ruckus there? They've been spreading plenty of rumors there, but I know what really happened on the place due to living there and all."

"Really? That's great to hear? Can you tell us about the building?" Joseph asks him.

"You don't think I'm giving the answer for free either, right?" The composed man oddly smiles.

"Oh, sorry about that. Here, have 10 pounds for it." Joseph gives him a note for the info, only for the man to laugh and pull an ace card from the deck.

"No no no, money isn't really my thing. You see, I'm pretty big on gambling. You could even say that I make a living off from it." He says.

"I'm not sure what you're getting at, Mr...?" Joseph says.

"Darby. I'm asking you if you would like to make a silly wager with me for the information. You don't need to pay money for it." Darby informs.

"I guess there's nothing wrong with playing by his rules. The guy just wants to play." You say to the crusaders.
"Well, I'm a pretty big keen on gambling myself but... Are you sure you don't want the money, I can give you 20." Joseph raises the sum of money, but Darby still doesn't look interested.
"Please. You're going to get the information regardless. I'm just trying to have fun while we're at it." Darby explains.
"Does it have to be a card game?" You ask the card dealer.
"Not at all. The thing about gambling is that you can do it with pretty much anything. See that cat, for example?"

Darby points to a cat outside the bar and orders some smoked fish. "We could bet on which smoked fish the cat will eat first if we throw one at it. What do you think?"
"Fine then. We have a bet!" Polnareff shows his competitive side by picking up a large chunk of the fish to throw at the feline.
"Good! This will be fun!" Darby picks a smaller piece of smoked fish to feed the cat.
"Say, what will I have to give you if I lose? A hundred pounds or something?" Polnareff arches his back before throwing his meat.
"Oh, you don't need to wager nothing of value. Say, a penny, a glass of water, your soul, anything goes really." Darby pokes fun at his French opponent, something which annoys Polnareff.
"Fine, you can have my soul if you win then." He laughs it off before throwing it to the cat with Darby.

Contrary to his expectations, the cat simply jumped over to grab the smaller piece of meat on the side before grabbing the one Pol threw and running away.
"Aw shit!" Polnareff curses.

"You realize he just said your soul had no value, right Polnareff? Good grief." You repeat Jotaro's catchphrase after seeing how he lost the bet.

"Really Polnareff? I'm already sick of asking about that building." The disappointed Joseph puts Pol down.

"Hey, I know I lost ok? Stop rubbing it in!" He says.

"Wait, you don't plan on taking his actual soul, right?" You raise an eyebrow at Darby.

"Well, that was what he wagered, right? His soul. It surely won't be hard to do that with my soul stealing stand!" The gambler laughs while his stand automatically appears behind Polnareff to suck the soul out of his body.

"Polnareff!" Jotaro summons Star Platinum to save him, but Darby is quick to interrupt him.

"It's too late, Jotaro. If you hit my stand or kill me, Polnareff's soul will also go away since it's at Osiris' grasp." He says while Polnareff's lifeless body drops on the ground.

"He has no pulse! He's dead! Polnareff is dead!" Avdol catches Polnareff's corpse while his soul is turned into a small poker chip, which Darby carefully places it on the table.

"Ha! I can't believe it was this easy to take one of you down, even if it was the dumbest of them." He plays around with his new chip.

"Polnareff!" You run up to your friend's body to see if there's any chance of bringing him back. You heal with him Hamon, check his internal organs with Karma Chameleon but he's not reacting to any of your actions.

"There's nothing wrong with his body, Hitomi. It's no use trying to revive him if his soul isn't there." Darby signals over for the cat eating the fish to come over. "Say hello to my cat, everyone!"

"You motherfucker!" Avdol uncharacteristically snaps after seeing Polnareff die in front of him, grabbing Darby by the collar and arching a fist back. "You call this a fair bet? This was a fucking scam!"

"Easy there, Avdol. Listen, If you have been scammed by someone, the loser is the one at fault due do not seeing through it. It's just like relationships in a way: It's all about fooling the other, the only one crying will be the loser, not the winner." Darby mocks the fortune teller.
You see Jotaro clenching his fists in anger after hearing what Darby had to say. You also felt like punching him a new hole after seeing Polnareff being turned into a poker chip, but perhaps not all is lost...

"What, do you want to beat me up? Do it! I'm pretty sure you won't care if Polnareff dies as well." Darby says, still not afraid of Avdol's fists. "Say, do you happen to remember what you were doing at September 22nd, 1984 at 11:15 PM?"

"W-What?" Avdol lets go of Darby after the confusing question.

"Because I do." Darby pulls out an album filled with poker chips from under the table. "I was in California, playing with a man named Stephen Moon. He said the exact thing you said, and look where he is now!" He points at a poker chip with the image of an american man's face. "There's also his wife and his father's soul in this page too. If you want to get Polnareff's soul back you have no choice but to continue gambling with me."

"What a monster..." Kakyoin visibly sweats. "He plans on taking us down one by one without even fighting!"

"Feeling scared, Kakyoin? You can go home and leave him behind, just like the last time you got in Cairo." Darby makes fun of the student before shooing the cat away.

Slamming your fist onto the table, you look at Darby in the eyes and decide to roll with his plan:
"Alright then, Let's settle the score. I'll wager my soul for Polnareff's. Let's play a game, Barbie!"

"It's Daniel J. D'arby for you, missy. D-A-R-B-Y, there's an apostrophe after the D too." He gives you an angry look for saying his name wrong. "Fine. I'll give you the opportunity to pick a game so you don't think I'll be cheating right from the start. You can even make one on the spot if you wish to.

"Are you really giving his soul back if I win?" You try to make sure that he won't scam you too.

"Of course, I do have my gambling pride." D'arby says, pulling a chocolate bar from his pocket and giving you time to think about what game you should pick.

>Chess
It's the only game that has no random elements for him to fix. The only way he could cheat is by swapping pieces around, and we've still got Joseph, Jotaro, and Avdol to watch him.

Of course, same rules apply to us, but I really don't believe we can out cheat D'arby. Even in canon, Jotaro only won by convincing D'arby he WAS cheating, but he played the game totally fair.

And it's better than checkers, since the pieces are distinguishable and easier to track

"Is that so? Mr. Joestar, can we get a check on that?" You ask for Joseph to give a quick call for the Speedwagon Foundation to see if D'arby's claim is true.

Your opponent stops the game in his turn for a few minutes to see Joseph's response.

"Is it ok for me to ask for advice?" You ask D'arby.

"Sure, not like a novice like you could beat a chess master on their first try. Just make sure it's not anything too cryptic, or else Osiris might count that as cheating." D'arby explains.

"Shit. That puts a damper on things..." Jotaro thought about a good strategy, but decided to stay silent after what D'arby said.

"Chess is all in the mind Hitomi, paying attention to the game is more important than thinking about cheating. If a player loses focus it's a domino effect until a checkmate." Joseph tries to think of something vague on his restraints, but doesn't give you any clear advice.

I JUST THOUGHT OF A WAY TO CHEAT.
We convince him to do speed chess, yeah?
Then, we tighten it even more. Make it a variant of speed chess with like, 5 second turns or something ridiculous like that. He couldn't possibly think quick enough to make master-level moves in that timeframe.
We subtly absorb Star Platinum's material under the table, a little bit of stand hand-holding...
And jotaro stops time on our turns whenever he can. Giving us a few more seconds to consider moves than D'arby would have.

Supporting. Even if D'Arby figures it out, SOMEONE will beat him, so he won't be able to tell Dio. We just need to signla Jotaro to get Star to hold KC's hand behind his back or something.

"Hey D'arby, have you heard of speed chess?" You ask the gambler. "We could try that to make things more interesting."

"Speed chess? Hmm..." The older man ponders for a second, considering if it's worth trying it out or not. Alright, what's the timer?"

"10 seconds. Let's see how fast a guy like you can think!" You dare him while he picks up an hourglass from his pocket.

"Do your worst." D'arby sets the hourglass down to count the time.

Alright, you probably won't have too much time to think about your moves either, and judging by how unimpressed D'arby sounded, he either has the great poker face in Cairo or that won't hinder him at all.

Time to pick up a strategy and go through with it.

You place one hand behind your back and make Karma Chameleon's absorption jewel appear on your neck. After the first few rounds, Jotaro stealthily places Star Platinum's finger on it so you're able to hear him on frozen time. For the sake of not directly interfering on the game, he simply states the best possible move on your round to easily outsmart on your opponent.
"Your horse should go here."
"Your queen can kill his if you do that."
"What an idiot, he left his tower vulnerable to your pawn."

And so you obeyed Jotaro, getting the upper hand on D'arby in a few minutes.

However on one turn Jotaro started to fake a hard coughing fit before you moved your piece.

"What's wrong Jotaro? You're looking exhausted all of a sudden." Kakyoin checks on his classmate, who's all sweaty and loudly panting after the several time stops.

"Good grief... I think I got food poisoned from the bar's breakfast..." He bluffs, trying to discreetly inform you that he can't stop time anymore.

"You can take care of that after we're done with our game." An annoyed D'arby responds.

>Play defensive and wait for an opening. You're on your own now and D'arby might still make a comeback.

>Go for a checkmate already, you clearly have the advantage here.

>"Your horse should go here."
How the fuck did he lead us to such a good position when he doesn't know what a knight is?
>>2393412
We've both lost most of our pawns, which could be better. Power pieces wise, however, D'Arby is fucked.

He's got both bishops, so he could manage to pull out some sneaky snipes if we don't pay attention, but his rook is stuck behind his pawns, so we'll see it coming if he tries anything with it.

We've got both rooks, one of which is also stuck, and both bishops, one of which can't move forward in one turn, plus a knight. Our king is much better defended, despite being further up.

All in all, D'Arby's position is super weak, but he's not beaten yet, and a few very clever moves will put us on the backfoot. All we need to do is play smart and grind him down.

>>2393425
Supporting, that pawn is free and all Da'rby can take right now is our knight, and he'd pay for it.

"Wow D'arby, you're pretty good at spelling your name." You move your rook close to his king while giving a terrible compliment. "Do you think you can spell the word 'checkmate' after I win?"

"Of course I Can." A nervous D'arby places his hand on the chess board to move his bishop. "C-H-E--CHHH- Wh-What? That can't be it!" D'arby notices your two rooks cornering his king.

"Go on D'arby, move! You will lose regardless of your choice. A bronze medal isn't worth carrying around once you're aware that it's just a cute way to say you're the second loser!" You confidently shout at him knowing the game is set after this last move.
D'arby picks up his king and trembles around with it, having a hard time choose where he should die first. Before he even got the chance of landing in his deathbed, Polnaref's soul flies out from the gambler's poker chip and back into his old body.

"No! I accidentally released Polnareff's soul!" D'arby slams his fists on the chess board.

"No point in keeping us waiting when you know we already won." Joseph smiles after seeing him panic.

"CHRIST THAT WAS HORRIFYING!" Polnareff screams after returning back to the living.

"Damn Polnareff. That's like the fifth time we saved you from these stand users!" Kakyoin berates him.

"How?! How did you win?! You're not even the one who can stop time!" D'arby blurts out.

>I had a great helping hand.

"Stopping time? Can you repeat that last part again please?" You question D'arby for knowing Jotaro's ability.

"There's no way any of our previous enemies could stop time, and Hermit Purple growing weaker on Dio means he wouldn't be able to discover that before Jotaro learned his ability." Joseph points out.

"How the hell did you know that?" Even Jotaro is afraid to find the answer.

"Woof!" Iggy arrives on the bar with a sandwich on his mouth, not really giving a damn about what was going on.

D'arby simply stares at them all with a blank face. Saying where Dio is might be one thing, but revealing how he knows about Jotaro stopping time made him visibly terrified.

Then again, Dio probably takes care of snitchers by killing them. D'arby might just snap if you press him too hard when he's aware of the consequences.

>We won't hurt you if you release the souls you have left.

"Easy there, D'arby. No need to panic. We are going to kill Dio in a few days at most if you tell us where he is. You don't need to be afraid of saying anything." You explain, but he still doesn't appear to be convinced.

"Y-You don't understand! Lord Dio has contacts all over the globe! He will kill me in the worst way possible if you guys don't finish the job!" He says, still trembling in fear.

"We're not gonna hurt you. Just give us the info, free the souls you have in your collection and go away." You reaffirm that he might not die if he cooperates.

After another brief moment of silence, you see the souls of several deceased people fly into the sky after D'arby releases them from their poker chips.

"Dio's in a mansion on the south of the capital, a few blocks away from Khan el-Khalili." The gambler drops a map on the table. "Is that it? Can I please go now?"

He still hasn't anwered your question about how he knew about Jotaro stopping time, but you don't think he's going to answer that even after he settled down.

"Don't worry, calm down a bit. We need to make sure you don't have a flesh bud on ya." You signal for Jotaro to give a look inside D'arby's brain.

"Nope. He's clear." Jotaro says.

"Oh? Never mind then, shoo!" You tell the gambler to go away, making him flee from the bar as fast as he could.

"You know he's still a mass murderer, right? That soul collection wasn't just for show." Avdol reminds you.

"Dio's remaining minions will probably kill him anyway. Might as well give the guy some hope." You explain to Avdol.

"Still, nice going there! It wont take us longer than a day to reach this place!" Joseph picks up the map from the table.

"I'm not sure if Dio knowing about Jotaro's time stop is something we should take lightly though." Kakyoin is quick to inform. "Knowing how the vampire is, he might be well prepared for us.

"Frankly, we can't do much other than cross our fingers and hope for the best now that we know where we're going..." Polnareff has a brief moment of thought.

"Woof..." Iggy simply starts walking back outside the bar, still not caring in the slightest about the conversation since he's mostly here just for the ride.

October 12th, 1988.

Arriving at the capital of Cairo on Joseph's car, you notice the streets are oddly quiet for such a big place. Even at noon you're seeing more armed police officers scouting the area than regular people walking around.

"Cairo has been under heavy surveillance for the past week... I can't really blame them, but I'm worried if these people might be wasting their times trying to fight Dio as non-stand users." Avdol says.

"Sir, we're not authorized to let any tourists inside Cairo due to safety precautions." An officer warns Joseph after he parks his car. "Unless you were permitted by Senator Phillips to get in I suggest you to turn around and leave this place immediately."

"We're with the Speedwagon Foundation." Joseph presents the man his documents.

"Oh, Mr. Joseph Joestar? Sorry for the inconvenience, sir. We're lucky to have you on your side!" The officer salutes the old Hamon user and leaves him be.

"That was a lot easier than expected..." Kakyoin is confused to see Joseph being let go of so quickly.

"Why did he change his attitude like that?" You ask Joseph after exiting the car.

"The Foundation has been helping to fund the local security ever since Dio's killings were noticed by the public eye. It's why Billy and Tempest got here without much trouble in the first place." Joseph explains. "Hopefully we can try to hide what really happened here after that bastard finally dies."

"The situation's that bad?" You ask, curious to know any more details.

"It's hard to kill 147 people in a big city under two months without no one batting an eye." Avdol says. "Most people are too afraid of leaving their homes now, so I'm certain that Dio's just murdering people for fun at this point to diminish their morale."

"I can't wait to get in that manor to kick his ass..." Jotaro growls.

"You and me both. I take it we're heading there now?" You question the group.

"Not yet. We'll be going to a hotel to place our things there before heading to our final destination." Joseph points to a building to his left. "It doesn't look cheap but it won't kill us to stay for a day."

"Oh, like you ever need to worry about money..." Polnareff pesters Joseph, reminding everyone that he's a retired millionaire which had no right to complain about expensive living conditions.

"Who the hell is Senator Phillips anyway?" You ask before heading inside the hotel.

"Don't know, don't care." Joseph shrugs, not really caring about who's in charge of the city as long as he does his job.
...
The hotel had enough rooms for every crusader to stay in by themselves, although you doubt giving Iggy a room of his own was necessary.
After unpacking and having a quick meal. You sit on your bed and consider your options.

You close your eyes and relax your body in order to refresh it with Hamon. You're going to need some peace of mind for the battle ahead.

On second thought, Joseph gave you plenty of tips on how to develop a new Hamon technique right? Maybe it's time to think outside the box and see just how versatile this ability really is.

Should you try to turn Karma Chameleon into a stand made of Hamon? That does sound useful since it wsould negate the problems you have at mantaining her form with liquids, but you're not sure if your stand can absorb pure energy alone.

Maybe a long ranged attack could work too. As strong as you and Karma are, you will be screwed if he pulls off a powerful move from a distance. Is it possible to manipulate the air with Hamon? Perhaps even sound waves?

Jeez, so much to learn in so little time...

>Feel free to think of a new way for Hitomi to use Hamon on combat. I'll give you some time to think before asking for a 1d100.
>>
>>2399389
I think a long distance Hamon attack is just about the only way to make it relevant in the coming fight.
>>
>>2399389
Well, we already know Hitomi can do partial transformations. Maybe we can turn her partially to hamon and have it run through channels of another material that is good at conducting It? Or, have as thin layer of something on the outside, like a skin layer, and have the internals full on hamon. Or something with more layers, material, hamon, material, hamon, and so on...

Also want to see if we can convert in a line. Rather than just convert an entire materal, I want to see if we can make a stripe on it. Then apply that to, say, a room, if we can make a stripe on the wall of a room, something that might work for long distance. "The floor is now hamon."

Although... hmm... I wonder if we could somehow supercharge the dust in the air with hamon? There are tiny particles always floating around in the air that could be used to construct a web, usually of dead human tissue and whatnot. Maybe if we send the charge to karma and have karma do it for us, if we get her precision up...
>>
>>2399389
Could we try coating our skin with hamon? Dio expected Joseph to use his Stand in tandem with hamon to cover himself during stopped time, but while we dont have vines to cover ourselves with hamon with, we have sheer genius.

>>2399396
If I had to draw inspiration from previous JoJo entries, we could try and develop a move with a Karma Chameleon and some sort of organic fluid (i.e. soap, grease).

You know how smoke and mist works? Basically, those are very small bits of ash and water floating suspended in the air due to being lighter than the surrounding air.

If we were to make fine oil or soap particles like that, and do something to make a jet out of said substance, we could have a pretty devastating long-range Hamon attack.

But that might be difficult to do with just KC alone. Working with Star Platinum might be a way to make it into a very devastating hamon jet or hamon storm given how absurdly powerful it is.
>>
>>2399426
Not sure you'd need that. I'd say air itself already has all the components you'd need. There's dust in the air, along with water vapor and other gasses. The problem is they're really, really damn small and a bit spaced out. Plus they're always moving about. If time was stopped and karma could move in that stopped time, maybe she could do something about that. If it's stopped already, should be much easier, especially for a stand.

But do you recall that idea I posted a thread or two ago, about combining karma's abilities and hamon to change the ground into hair or something and then running a charge through it to have them snap up and entangle an enemy while the hamon hurts the hell out of them at the same time?

You end up sneezing after a small particle of dust flies to the inside of your nostrils.

"*Sniff* Great cleaning you did there, room service! Although that gives me a good lead..." You point your finger in the air and try to manipulate some of the dust particles around the room.

After a few attempts, you see a few thin lines glowing around in the air, almost as if the small collected dust particles were turning into a rope or even a constellation. A loud pop comes from the end of the Hamon string after you're done charging your energy. It doesn't look strong enough to significantly damage a person, but this might take Dio off guard in the right occasion...

"Hey Hitomi, what's taking you so long?" Polnareff knocks on the door to your room, making you lose your focus. "We're all ready out here, let's kill the big bad vampire!"

"Grr... Alright..." Deciding not to keep any of them waiting, you simply exit out of the room to meet the rest of the team. You didn't really have any time to master your new move, but you're sure you'll have a chance to use it in the near future.

...

"Are you sure this is the place?" Avdol asks his younger friend after the boy stopped next to a big yellow building in the streets.

"Maps don't lie." Jotaro folds the map recieved by D'arby. "Besides, can't you feel the atmosphere?" Jotaro approaches the building, feeling an abnormally sinister energy emanating from the manor with each step forward.

"He's here. There's no doubt about it. Dio's presence can be felt inside of this mansion!" Joseph affirms.

"Which means that we've reached the last top on our journey..." Polnareff mutters.

>And it only took us 43 days!

"And it only took us 43 days..." You give a witty remark to the group, but still can't believe that this is coming to an end today. Has it really been 43 days? It sure felt much longer... After traveling far and wide to reach Dio's mansion, you make your friends reminisce about what happened during the journey. "Are you guys ready?"

"40 days, 2 continents and several stand-using assassins..." Polnareff says, thinking about the series of do or die situations they've all been placed in. Whether he was feeling sad, mad, happy or angry, Polnareff was probably the one who was showing more sentimentality from all the good experiences the group had on the journey.

"Hold on Holly, we're coming." Joseph thinks of his daughter back in Japan, determined to live through the end of the 100 year old feud with Dio despite not being the most active fighter.

"You're fucking dead Dio." Jotaro stares at the mansion, eager to get back home and stay on school with his new friends, family and love interest.

"I'm not going back to the old me ever again. It's time to redeem myself by fighting this monster one more time!" Kakyoin puts his shades on, ready to save Holly and conquer his personal weaknesses.

"You can say that again..." Polnareff relates with his friend to an extend, although still feeling pretty tense.

"Cairo will return to it's former glory after Dio's dead, you can bet I'm looking forward to purging this evil entity from my beloved homeland." Avdol proudly says, hoping to give a brighter future for his country.

"What's the plan then? We do have a plan, right?" You ask, using your Hamon to give your friends some extra energy.

"We thought about using Iggy along with Avdol's fire detector to get a reading on the mansion since there might be a few stand users left inside the mansion but..." Joseph points to Iggy, which should be looking happy for being so close to the end of this journey he didn't want to join, he's angrily growling at a brown bird looking at him from above the mansion's gate.

Looks like we already have some company...

"Where does Dio keep finding animals with stands? First a monkey, now a falcon?" You summon Karma Chameleon, which reminds everyone to summon their own stands.

"*Screech*" The falcon prepares a barrage of ice spikes to shoot at the group, but the onslaught of stalactites are deflected completely by Hierophant Green's Emerald Splash, with one emerald even managing to hit it's wing.

"Not on my watch, Tweety." Kakyoin grins, uncoiling his stand into a barrier of strings to protect the entirety of the team in a 10 meter radius.

Angry from the attack, the bird show's it's skeletal stand, which appears to be a pterosaur with cryokinetic abilities. Freezing the wound caused by Kakyoin, the falcon tries it's best to fly around and shoot his icicles to cut Kakyoin's stand into pieces to get an opening, but Kakyoin's barrier alerts him of where the enemy's attack is coming from with relative ease.

"Do you think you can snipe him from there?" You ask.

"Not quite, I can't attack him without breaking formation, so you guys will have to--" Kakyoin interrupts himself to shoot at a javelin flying towards Polnareff's neck.

"What the fuck!? Where did that javelin come from?" Polnareff sees a dozen of men wearing roman warrior attires charging at them.

"It doesn't look like the falcon's the one controlling those warriors, could it be another stand user nearby?" Jotaro ponders.

"He's purposely hiding to work with that bird, clever move." Joseph says. "Either way, taking this team won't be easy."

Are Hierophant Green's tentacles liquidly enough for Hitomi to run her hamon radar through it?
Also goes without saying that anyone with range (+Advol's with his flames) harasses the falcon, while the rest deal with the army.

>Keep the roman army away from the barrier
>>Maybe try that "turn the ground into hair" tactic to tangle them up?

Remember, they've got home field advantage. We can't take for granted that we're only fighting two stand users right now. Let's form a plan from the safety of the barrier.

Growing inpatient, the falcon creates a giant ice block to crush the stand users under Kakyoin's barrier.

"Silver Chariot!" Polnareff uses his stand to cut the iceberg into pieces before it manages to kill him and the others.

"KORESOREKORESOREKORESORE!" Karma punches her way through the roman army so you can safely exit the barrier.

"Hermit Purple!" Joseph uses the purple vines growing from his arms to gather information on the mysterious user's hiding spot.
A few drawings appear are formed on the sand below him: As the old man crouches down to check on it, he manages to see a square containing five dots inside, a smaller square with 7 dots, and two smaller dots on the left and right of the bigger square.
"He's on the other side of the block!" Joseph informs.

"Don't go alone, it's too risky!" Jotaro tells you while Magician's Red melts away the icicles being fired at the crusaders.

"Iggy, Joseph, I need your help!" You call for the two best stands for the job of searching the unkown enemy.

"*Yawn*" Iggy isn't really interested in risking his life to find the stand user when he's considerably safe inside the Hierophant's barrier.

"On it!" Joseph is quick to catch the dog and drag Iggy with him. "You better not stay out of this one!"

"Grrr. Woof!" Iggy reluctantly uses The Fool to send the three of you up in the sky with a strong push of his sand. You scream along with Joseph after seeing he just sent you 15 meters into the air, but The Fool uses his sand body to create a pair of wings to safely glide you and the old man back on the ground.

"Stupid... Dog..." You hear an anstoundingly slow, grazzly voice coming from a mummified man hiding on an alleyway, holding a book in his hands. "At... Least... Pet Shop... Will... Kill... The... Others... Faster..."

After reading a few pages of his book in silence, he summons 42 men to fight for him, this time being egyptians wearing white cloaks.

"Fragment Aligning Overdrive!" You use your new technique to pass your Hamon energy onto the dusty area the mummy was crouching down on, taking him by surprise with the heavy current going in his body, prompting him to fall on the ground.

"Nice technique, but what about the men he sent?" Joseph turns around to see The Fool swiping away the onslaught of cloaked men after him. Sadly, the dog isn't fast enough to kill them all and ends up letting 5 of them too close. The remaining enemies all open up their cloaks to reveal the large number of explosives under their clothes.

The Fool tries to cover him and Joseph with a sand wall, but the suicide bombers explode halfway through it, sending them flying to the ground, partially scorched and unconscious.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA... Idiots!" The mummy slowly drifts back up after recovering from your blow. "You can't... kill the immortals..."

"Immortals? What are you talking about? Who the fuck are you?" You angrily shout at the man after seeing him take down Joseph and Iggy.

"You can call me... The Scribe Ani... I joined Dio as a mercenary since he also had eternal life... Thanks to Ptah's ability to reincarnate souls after they're read out of this book... I am unable to die..." The Scribe rips off the pages you ruined and reads another part of the ancient book to summon forth an entity part lion, part crocodile and part hippo.

"This is Ammit... Also known as the Eater of Hearts... A strong egyptian deity... which will sure take you and your friends from this realm..."

With the injured Iggy recovering from the explosion, you turn Karma into The Fool's sand and charge against the deformed entity.

Ammit try to devour Karma Chameleon, but is confused to feel nothing but sand when it chomps at you.

"No..." Since your sand form lacks any strength to properly damage the user, you simply make him drop the history book on the floor and retract your stand back to you before Ammit had a chance to go after you.

"Yes!" Joseph uses Hermit Purple to entangle the deity and keep her away from you before Karma managed to turn itself back into it's marble form.

"Woof! Woof!" Iggy uses The Fool to drag the mummy's book to him with his sand, munching at the papers like the biggest packet of coffee gum he's ever seen.

"AAAAAARGH!" The Scribe Ani starts to fade away after his mummified body created by the stand was destroyed, screaming his putrid lungs out before dying due to his source of immortality being eaten by a Boston Terrier.

>15:00.October 12th, 1988.
Stand Name:Ptah.
Stand User:The Scribe Ani.
Status:Dead.

...

"Well, there goes half our team!" Kakyoin comments after seeing Hitomi flying into the sky with Joseph and Iggy.

"The hell are we supposed to do now?" Polnareff watches Avdol stopping Pet Shop from hitting the trio gliding to safety to fight The Scribe Ani.

>Tell Polnareff to shoot his sword at Pet Shop.
>See if Avdol can roast the enemy bird with his.
>Ask Kakyoin to break formation so he can help Avdol.
>Bait Pet Shop into flying low so Star Platinum stops time when he's near.

This probably has a lower dc than avdol, but if we fuck up we're in trouble.

Throwing his sword leaves Pol wide open, and Jotaro needs to conserve this time stop stamina for Dio and Avdol doesn't have the range on his own

"Emerald Splash!" Kakyoin turns Hierophant Green back to normal and fires a continuous wave of emeralds into the sky, hoping to hit Pet Shop with them.

"Hurry Kakyoin! I won't be able to hold him off for long!" Avdol keeps firing bursts of flames to melt the falcon's ice, but he's still pretty rampant and doesn't seem to be tiring out soon.

"Uh, Kakyoin? Where are you aiming at?" Polnareff looks up and see that the giant amount of emeralds are being fired in a single direction, not even reaching close to Pet Shop.

"My emeralds might be fast, but they're not reaching escape velocity any time soon." The student explains after he stops firing. "Gravity will eventually make them return if I don't retract my stand."

Hearing this, Pet Shop looks up to see the hundreds of emeralds raining down at him. The poor bird tries to dodge them mid-flight, but eventually gets heat by an emerald on his beak, instantly crushing it and sending him spiraling into the concrete.

Stand Name:Horus.
Stand User:Pet Shop.

"And now we wait for the old man to come back." Jotaro says, lighting the last cigarette he had left on him.

...

"Did you really think he would scare a guy like me with that whole immortal bullshit?" Polnareff hears Joseph laughing after a few minutes of waiting. "He wasn't the first 'immortal being' I took down, and he sure won't be the last!"

"Why are you all covered in dirt?" Avdol questions the returning trio.

"We had some trouble dealing with the stand user, but he went down after we figured out his shtick."

Seeing the state you were in, Jotaro pulls a handkerchief from his coat and hands it to you.

>How bad do I look?
>Great fight, but still not Dio.
>How did the fight with the bird go?
>Let's head inside before another stand user shows up.

Remember to stick with Polnareff. Vanilla Ice might be even harder than Dio.

I think Jotaro's the only person who can properly deal with Vanilla Ice at this point. Hitomi could nab him with Hamon and maybe take care of wounded allies, but with his stand's tendency to instantly kill someone with the void, we might be hard-pressed to do any healing.

"How bad do I look?" You sit still and let Jotaro clean your face.

"Still beautiful to me." He gives you a half smile and an unexpected comment.

"Damn it Jotaro, you pull these off when I least expect you to..." You give him a quick peck on the cheek for the cute compliment. "I had a great fight, but it's still not Dio. How was yours?"

"Kakyoin sniped him down shortly after you went away." Polnareff responds. "Hermit Purple didn't show any more stand users hanging outside, did it?"

"Nope, and that's exactly why we should head in before they decide to come out." You summon Karma Chameleon to kick the door open and invite everyone inside.

"Dio's in for the the fight of his life..." You mutter confidently as you wait for the group to approach the door. "Wait a minute... Why did open on it's own?"

Polnareff is the first to look inside Dio's mansion.
"H-hey, look at this corridor, there's just no end to it... It's some kind of trick or illusion, right? It must be..."

"Watch out Polnareff! There's someone over there!" Jotaro spots a silhouette approaching the doorway in the distance with Star Platinum.

I'll be having a few exams and work projects for these next two weeks so probably in the first/2nd week of April

I wanna give the last few arcs of part 3 the respect it deserves so I'll wait until I have some free time before fighting the big bad guy.

Thanks for the run, Dust.

I wonder if we can get Kakyoin to win against D'arby Younger. Barring that, compete against him ourselves. Jotaro facing off against D'arby Younger is honestly a waste of Star Platinum's capabilities.
It's happy end or bust.
>>
>>2401081
We should go with Polnareff to make sure him Avdol and Iggy make it.
I hope we get to control Kakyoin there though.

yes

>>2401065
Im a bit worried, really. Even if she doesn't come out of this full nuclear, I'm thinking she might still go full eyes of heaven/dust of osiris/ council of Richards. Dust of osiris in particular. If not her, then an alternate version of her.
>>
>>2401097
You will, they take place at the same time in the story so Jotaro/Kakyoin might even get to kill steal Polnareff if you guys win against D'arby fast enough.
Be warned that I'll crank up the DC up to eleven in Ice's fight since 2nd final boss and all
