It is a short ride up to the recovery ward and the sting of antiseptic burns your nose. The reception desk had told you that he was conscious, stable and would be ready for physical therapy in a few days. You had to wonder at modern medicine, and when you finally arrived in his room you find that sure enough he’s chuckling at whatever they have on the T.V.; However when he finally sees you he perks up significantly.

“Hey sport!” Ben says with a wave, and you can’t help but smile knowing that sure enough he is still as positive as he had always been.

You don’t even speak, instead you promptly walk up and throw your arms around him. You had almost lost the man, and had you not stopped his fall…

Feeling his arms come around you there was only that sweet relief that it was not the case.

“I’m okay sport, I’m okay.” He insists as you take a seat beside him.

“I uh...heard you have a new hip.” You say after a few seconds of silence.

He nods “Some sorta super hip, and if what I’m hearing is true Aunt May will be very happy.” He replies and you immediately feel bile rise in your throat.

“Uncle!” You snap much to his amusement, though after a moment he sighs.

“I’m sorry.” He apologizes to your surprise.

“What? Why?!”

“Because I’ve been a hypocrite Alex. I’ve always pushed to stand up for yourself, and that I’d help train you to defend yourself from the bullies and yet sure enough I didn’t practice what I preached.” He replies

>How do you respond?
>A. “Maybe so, but you taught me something more important than that: To be a good person.”
>B. “You have no reason to be sorry, it’s whoever took you that needs to pay.”

You give him a weak smile.

“Maybe you’re right.” You say “You wanted to help but I was always too scared to take the offer. I’m not athletic or strong like you and I didn’t think i’d be able to use anything you could teach me.” You continue, staring your Uncle in the eye.

“But you taught me something far more important than that; You taught me to be a good person, to stand up for people and do what I can to make the world a better place.” You conclude and for the first time you see the man almost tear up as he embraces you again.

You were tempted to tell him what had happened; That you were the one who had saved his life but you held yourself back. Aunt May already knew and if she had not told your Uncle then there was an unspoken fact: She didn’t want him knowing about it. You would have to talk to her about it later.

However this conversation did spark another idea.

“Speaking of...maybe we can do it when you’re back on your feet…that uh CQC training I mean.” You offer and you see him nod happily.

“You got is pal.” He answers.

You see something flash across his face and it gives you pause. You had never seen such an emotion cross his face and the closest thing you could make it out to be was determination. But why determination? He was in the hospital for a dangerous injury and so what could he be thinking about beyond just recovering and being back with his wife?

It was certainly strange.

“What’s bugging you?” You ask and that flash becomes a more slow burn and he answers.

“I’m...I’m frustrated sport. More frustrated than I’ve been in a long, long time. When I was about your age, back during the War...There was no Superman, no real heros that would be willing to step in. And I was there you know, spending restless nights in the jungle praying to God that some fuckin Viet-Cong Commie didn’t come up and slit my throat. It was awful, and some of the things I did were awful and I know when I go the Devil himself might very well be waiting for me.” He says, and that determination and drive is for a moment overshadowed by wearriness and exhaustion of a man who had served his country and was never truly thanked for it.

“But now? Now we’ve got heroes right? Men in capes who can fly through the sky and shoot lasers from their eyes. But you know what? That didn’t make the monsters go away; It only made the monsters scarier than ever. And yet when any of these monsters in human flesh get caught they walk free, they’re put in a box and we pray that they don’t get back out. But they do; They always do.” He continues and once again that determination and fury is there once more.

You honestly are stunned and it’s clear to both of you. You stunned by his declaration and him by his rattling of your very beliefs.

“I… I’m sorry sport. I think whatever painkillers they have me on are making me loopy.” He says weakly, whatever energy he had exhausted at this point. And so you bid him farewell, after all it was already nine o’clock by the time you had arrived and it was getting close to the end of visitation hours.

Stepping back into the dark of night, your head filled with your Uncles words you have to wonder: What did that make you?

>Well?
>A. You do not murder, that was not the answer
>B. He was right, in a way. There were some monsters that did not deserve what they got.

There might be monsters out there. Maybe even ones that deserve to die.

But we're not executioners.

I probably could go on about the moral debate of killing villains, but I'd rather not.

Also Ben's a Nam vet. Nice
>>
>>2370419
Well in the comics he was in the military. Given his age in the original time of the comics he would have been a WWII vet. But bumping it up to Vietnam is better for this story for a...few reasons.

Looks like we have a moral dilemma on our hands.

The freedom to kill, but the discipline not to exercise that freedom?
>>
>>2370405

It was a sour thought, a bitter pill. Not because it was something that caught you off guard but rather that there was the small, almost non-existent part of you that agreed with the man. Sure you had grown up watching interviews and footage of the Man-of-Steel in Metropolis, but for every photo and interview with the man of steel there were ten horror stories of destroyed families and ruined businesses. And yet what happened?

They were just shipped of to Arkham or Blackgate to no doubt escape again, and it would happen all over again and we’d be right back at square one. Even you knew that, as good as you are; After all even a day before the man who had taken your Uncle would have been dead by your hands for it if Raven hadn’t stopped you. So where did that leave you? Your stomach was still tight at the thought of killing, but you knew in your heart that you’d do it if you felt you needed to.

And that was a heavy thought you’d have to swallow....

You decide to just walk for now. You knew all too well you could just swing home along the rooftops but you never knew how often you’d be able to savor this feeling; The feeling of still being able to be a wallflower. Besides, it's a cool spring night with the hints of the coming summer on the wind.

And for a little while you let yourself be a kid again and for the first time in two or three days let the fact that you were A GOD DAMNED SUPERHERO sink in. You could Jump three stories, pick up an 18 wheeler and dodge bullets! And that wasn’t even including the sweet costume!

It was honestly the most amazing thing that could ever have happened to you, other than maybe getting a date or two.

As you continue to walk you watch the light above you become cast in shadow and you hear in the distance the unforgettable whine of an alarm. For a brief moment you panic and want to hide but you almost smack yourself in the forehead. You were just hollering in your head how awesome it was you were a superhero.

Sprinting into the alley in a flash Alexander White isn’t there and in his place is: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN!

Springing up onto the rooftops you see a certainly strange sight, a black and white figure. At first you think it’s just a trick of the light but sure enough it is a polished black leather suit, complete with white fur on the wrists and collar. There is another thing that you realize.

It is very, very distinctly Female.

Swinging into action you stay back, just enough to keep sight without hopefully getting spotted. If your previous encounters were anything to go by you could blend in, and it would be better to catch the perp once they were still than on the run; Element of surprise and all that.

It is a good five minutes of slow swinging and stalking but finally your prey stops and sits herself on an external vent on top of a building, rummaging in a small bag she had on her hip. It’s clear she thinks that her heist has gone without a hitch. You cannot help but smirk.

You had just the idea.

Crawling up the side of the building you hear your culprit giggling, no doubt elated at her haul of loot. Keeping up behind her you give a slight hum, causing the woman to shriek as you start to speak:

“Little Miss Robber snuck off with her plunder, thinking she had gotten away.” You taunt, flipping atop the building and quickly shooting a web at the bag and pinning it to the roof.

“But along came a Spider-Man who crept up behind her and made sure she didn’t get away.” You finish, slowly making your way closer.

“S-Spider-Man!” She yelps in surprise, a series of claws popping out of her gloves.

“Relax, relax! I’m the ‘Friendly Neighborhood’ Spider-Man, not the ‘Dark Knight’ Spider-Man.” You say, leaning up against the A/C unit.

“So...why not be a friend then? Let little old me go with the loot, that’d be real neighborly right?” She asks, walking towards you, hips slowly swaying and each step accentuating the slight...bounce of her bust.

It is certainly something to stare at, however you shake your head.

“I’m afraid I can’t do that. The only ways you’re leaving this is either all webbed up or without what you stole.”

Your instincts work as fast as always, and you catch the slap that goes for your head. Even with your lack of combat training you could tell her blow was weak, more about looking dangerous than being effective. Ducking beneath the other you let go of her hands, using the opportunity to web her hands together. Grabbing the now bundled up hands you puller her off balance, using your superior strength to overpower whatever she might try and do.

“I did give you an option you know, to just leave it and go.” You remind her, ruffling her mane of white hair and taking advantage of your wall crawling to ensure she doesn’t get away.

“And what kinda hero does that huh? You were just trying to get me to drop my guard!” She insists.

If only she knew.

“Nope, I meant it, and I still do.” You promise “If you go now I won’t turn you in, so long as you don’t go back to crime.” You insist.

“Fine, fine, now get off of me!” She yelps and you do, however you’re also quick to grab one more thing.

Her mask; And before you can even stop yourself you voice your shock.

“F-Felicia?!”

You see her bright green eyes widen in shock as she hears this and confirms that sure enough this is none other than Felicia Hardy, the Daughter of your Home-ec teacher. Her usually golden blonde hair dyed pure white you hadn’t even realized it, but with her domino mask off there was no mistaking her emerald eyes.

After all you had been on the receiving end of her glares when you didn’t do her homework along with Flash’s.

“H-how do you know me?” She asks back with equal shock, scurrying back towards the edge of the building.

>What do you do?
>A. Reassure her that you’re a friend and you aren’t going to hurt her
>B. Tell her it doesn’t matter, just ask why she wants jewelry of all things

You realize there is only one thing you can really do in this scenario that might calm her down. At the same time though you knew that no good could come out of it, as far as you could see in the future. But right now she was terrified and afraid and was probably thinking there were far worse things in her foreseeable future.

And so you release your te’mak, immediately feeling uncomfortable without your suit on.

“Uh...H-hi Felicia…” You mumble, your face contorting into what you could only assume was the kind of smile you’d give to someone who had just given you a take out bag full of dog shit.

“Tighty Whitey? No way...YOU’RE Spider-Man?!” She asks, halting her scuttle back in no doubt surprise.

“Yeah it’s...it’s uh...it’s me.” You confirm, already feeling yourself hunch over in a pointless attempt to hide away from the girl.

“So that’s how you ended up beating Flash!” She realizes, pointing, or at least attempting to with her webbed up hands.

You blush.

“I uh..only got them that morning so….I don’t even know how.” You half lie and she laughs.

“I guess we’re even then huh? I don’t rat on you and you don’t ship me off to prison?” She asks, and while she seems relieved you can tell that it is less out of genuine calm it is more out of the absurdity of the whole situation.

Dice gods, I need your answer:

1-3 Yes
4-6 no

>>

You mull it over, though you quickly decide to call back your costume and almost immediately feel the reassurance of being hidden behind it. Straightening out you walk over to the still fallen over Felicia and help her to her feet.

“I can accept that but can you answer this: Why? I know your mom and you’re certainly not scrounging for change.” You ask, doing what you can to remove the webbing and free her.

For a moment Felicia is quiet, no doubt mulling it over. It was certainly surprising since she never seemed to be one to have long stretches of contemplative thought. Though she finally does answer, and it is a shocking one.

“I guess...it’s a similar thing to you, White. A few weeks ago I woke up and was just normal ole me, but then things started happening. I felt faster, more flexible, stronger, better eyesight; But it was the last thing that was truly crazy. It started when I got angry at Flash for some stupid shit and was just giving some glare and the next thing you know he slips right on his ass.” She starts, chuckling at the thought of it.

“At first I thought it was some karma swinging in my favor but that wasn’t it. Whenever i’d get angry at someone or give them the bad I their luck would sour; Even random strangers! I’d be blurred out in photos and all sorts of stuff.” She continues and while you might have thought she was crazy a few days ago, you could shoot sticky white stuff from your wrists and dodge bullets.

“And...the crime?” You push and you see her blush slightly, no doubt embarrassed at her rambling.

“Well...that’s a bit more grounded at least. See the reason my mom is single is Dad used to be a huge cat burglar and when I was little he got busted. He always pushed for me to do the best I could and I guess with my powers I thought...maybe I could get the money to bail my dad out, even if it meant I’d be going down the same path he did.” She finishes and for a moment you’re taken aback.

You hadn’t expected that, at least not the way it was.

“You have your answers so, are we good?” She asks quietly.

>Are we?

You nod.

“We’re square.” You say, and she gives you a smile. It was probably the first time she had genuinely shown you happiness since you had met the girl.

She starts to walk towards the edge, no doubt too go...wherever she was planning; But as you watch her walk off you speak up, you don’t even know where it comes from.

“There are other ways you know; Other than just being a thief I mean.”

She turns back to you, and gives you a chuckle.

“Not if I want to get him out before he’s old and grey.” She insists, stradling the ledge before pausing.

“Oh yeah, one last thing. Most the Cheerleading Squad thinks Spider-Man’s cute.” She says with a wink before falling off and vanishing into the dark.

What a weird day.

Grabbing the bag you web it shut before making your way back towards where you had heard the alarms. “Um hey..officer? Excuse me officer!?” You call out only for one of the officers. At first it’s evident they weren’t expecting a cape to show up, let alone with the very thing they were looking for.

“You’re that uh...Spider-Kid right?” The officer in question asks.

“Spider-Man actually but yeah that's me alright! I got a present.” You insist, tossing the bag towards him.

“You got the perp already kid? Wow not bad.” He praises, giving you a nod.

“I just got lucky is all.” You insist, scratching the back of your head.

Coming to a stop outside your window you slide it open and are about to shimmy in when the light switch flicks on and you hear your Aunt.

“Come in Alex.”

She did not sound happy, and after everything you didn’t blame her.

Sliding in you see her sitting on your bed, her face tight with an unknown expression. Calling your costume off you give a weak smile when she stands and you feel your smile drop.

“You have a lot of nerve you know Alexander James White. First you show up with a newfangled friend who can use magic in some crazy costume. Then some madman calls and informs me he’s kidnapped my husband and wants you in exchange for his life. And now my husband is in the hospital with a brand new hip and people are calling you ‘Spider-Man’ and raving about you being the newest hero on the block.” She chastises, prodding you gently in the chest with one of her lithe fingers.

“I...I know, I didn’t mean for any of this to happen! I don’t even know how-”

You’re cut off as your Aunt May throws her arms around you, shaking slightly in restrained sobs.

“It doesn’t matter how, I’m just glad that you and your Uncle are okay.” She insists, and you can feel the light stain of tears against your shirt.

You hold her for awhile as she slowly calms down, and explain what you felt you could: That woke up with these powers and that you were forced into a fight you didn’t want to be in. That you met the Titans, and you were a honorary member. All of it.

By the time you’re done she’s once again sat on your bed, wiping the vestiges of a her tears away with a chuckle.

“You’re so much like your father, you know that? Always getting into trouble and making us worry.” She says before getting to her feet.

“Did you tell Ben..?” You ask quietly after a moment, unsure of what he might think of you if he knew.

She shakes her head. “This is your mantle, your responsibility.” She answers before closing the door behind you.

Finally in the comfort of your own room you drop your costume for the last time and the exhaustion catches up to you almost immediately. It is welcome though as you park yourself on your bed, setting aside your new Titan’s Communicator and quickly throw Raven’s number in your phone. Flopping back onto the bed you close your eyes and just take a breath, listening to the sound of traffic and commotion outside you find yourself grounded.

No matter who you were in your costume, you would still be Alexander White.

Sleep comes easy for you and soon enough you find yourself drifting through the nebulous realm of dreams. There was little you would recall that coming morning, but your dreams would be plagued by:

You saw the coming summer, the time you’d have free and the experiences you’d have; Both as a hero and a teenager. And yet for all of it there was one thing that you saw that had terrified you so much so that even now a week later and long after it had faded away. Even now as you working on a physics assignment two weeks later it was there at the back of your mind.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fFTATFiMkU

That is until the beeping tune of your communicator went of.

Leaping up onto your ceiling you move aside your framed Grey Ghost poster and pull the communicator free from the small recess you had made in the wall.

“Spidey here, what’s up?” You ask.

“There’s trouble, there’s a breakout in progress at the Jump Correctional.” Robin replies and you’re already in costume and sliding the window open.

“On my Way.” You return before hanging up.

You’re about to head out the window when you call back “Aunt May! The Club called I’ll be back later!”

It had become a bit of an unspoken promise between the two of you, that you’d inform her that you were out in costume and in return she’d help to keep your alibi. Swinging along you see the smoke rising in the distance as well as well as the sirens of no doubt every squad car in the city. You happen to just be lucky enough to catch one as you’re on your way and hitch a ride, surfing along the rooftop as you’re sped along to your destination.

By the time you arrive there is a massive wall of squad cars and officers stopping what prisoners were foolish enough to run out to face them. Hopping off the car you have no idea where exactly the rest of the team is but given the flashes of pink and green you have a pretty good idea and so:

With how many convicts there are out there the cops would only be able to end it in a bloodbath, or that would have been the case if you weren’t there. Springing into action you sprint for the growing group of prisoners, effortlessly bobbing and weaving around the thrown bricks and rubble at you while returning the favor with strands and bursting balls of webbing. A few are caught up and squirming and sticking to others, but by the time you enter the brawl there are still fifteen standing with all sorts of impromptu weapons.

Time to go to work.

Bending beneath a broken off lead pipe you handspring into one of the thugs behind you, knocking him flat on his back as you fire a spray of webs at your initial attacker. With two down you have no time to rest as another duo come in from both sides and forcing you to grab their hands and slam them into one another before webbing them to the ground. It was still a rush that you could take on so many people with ease, and you decide to make your opponents privy of it.

“I can do this all day fellas, just save yourselves the time in the infirmary.” You insist, chuckling as you spring onto your hands, kicking away a pair of rebar clubs before flipping up to face them.

They had clearly not expected the blow, as given your costumes appearance no one would be stupid enough to kick steel but you were no normal person. Now back on your feet you grab the closest of the rebar weidling cretins before flipping over him, using the bar to knock him flat on his back before throwing it has his companion.

Six down, nine to go.

Undaunted by your display the rest charge all at once, no doubt having learned from the mistakes of the movies. In small numbers they had been manageable but now it was just an all out brawl. Ducking beneath a haymaker you grab the man by the wrist and an idea comes to mind. Putting your strength into it you lift the man with ease and use him as a makeshift bat, knocking another three to the ground before you let him go.

That put a whole new spin on ‘beating a motherfucker with another motherfucker’.

Webbing up the four of them the remaining five look stunned but only for a moment. Giving you just enough time to web two of them and sling them towards you. Leaning down you extend your arms and catch both of them in a double clothesline; And you can’t help but feel powerful.

You are about to move forward when your ‘spider-sense’ as you had nicknamed it goes off stronger than it ever had before. You don’t even see what it is but before you can act you are slammed into by something black and red, red like blood. Flying back and impacting into the police cruiser behind you.

Finally craning your head up you see something that you were dreading to see.

The blood red and black...slime starts to climb up one of the individuals you had been mouthing off to, all the while said individual cackling like a madman. Getting to your feet you watch in horror as the gelatinous mass starts to form a suit around his body, a pair of spikes shooting from the forearms and impaling the remaining two prisoners. And when it finally stops moving you are horrified to see that it isn’t just some slime.

It’s a Te’mak; And the person inside it a Totem Wielder.

You sprint forward, your body moving before your mind as you try to stop the individual. It was evident they were willing to kill without hesitation and there were a lot of people in the crossfire. However twenty feet away from the madman he lashes an arm forward, and you are knocked back again, his costume having expanded out like a bladed whip.

Fuck that hurt!

Running a hand along your torso you see that sure enough there is blood; This wasn’t good.

It was obvious he was better at range, given he could lash out with his suit the way he did and all. The problem was getting close. Closing the distance you fire a series of web balls and strands at the man only to see him shred them with his whip-like tendrils. It is just enough however to get in close and you go to break the man’s jaw when your spider-sense explodes into action and you flip away as his suit erupts into spikes.

What the hell was this dudes Totem?!

Crouching down you assess the situation and decide:

>A. Get Raven on the horn, you needed not just her mystic expertise, but Ranged Support

Reaching your hip you pull your communicator out and bring it to your ear.

“Raven we’ve got trouble.” You call out, watching as the police open fire on the Te’Mak clad individual who simply laughs, bullets rippling along his costume.

“Yes, we’ve been dealing with it since we got here.” She replies, the sound of explosions and the unmistakable sound of Gizmo’s voice.

“Not that problem, one of the prisoners has a totem!” You explain, rolling out of the way as the bullets that had impacted him bounce out and splay out along the police barricade of cars.

There is a moment of silence before she gets back to you. “Hold off as long as you can and whatever you do don’t use your blade.” Before ending the call.

Shit.

At least she had warned you about your weapon and...whatever it would do. However now the plan was simply stalling or forcing the totem away.

>What is your plan?
>A. Stall him if you can, even if it is putting the cops in danger.

Shooting a pair of web-lines behind you you feel them go taught after connecting to the squad car behind you. Sprinting forward you pull the car behind you before Leaping high, flipping and using the car as an impromptu mace. Unfortunately your opponent slices it in half before impact however it doesn’t stop you, and you come to a halt behind the man the two halves skid to a halt either side of him.

“Hey Red! You forgot something!” You call out, getting his attention.

When he turns to respond you drag the halves towards him, the sparking metal igniting the gasoline that had splashed over his body and sending him into a writhing, screaming mess. It wouldn’t kill him you knew, and so you decided to take the distraction as a godsend.

“You seem a bit hot maybe you could use a run!” You mock as you leap off into the woods, and sure enough you hear him come after, still growling and screaming from the flames.

Looks like he at least took the bait, the only question was how do you keep it up?

Swinging and flipping through the woods before sticking to one of the trees and reach out to your te’mak. It had taken you some time to figure out just how it worked after your fight with Robin but your suit could camouflage and in this fight you were more than thankful for it. Hearing the other totem skittering around it takes another minute for you to get sight of him again, though this also gives you pause.

He wasn’t just running away like you would have thought he would given he was now free to go where he wanted in the wild and escape prison. Rather he was now prowling the woods, trying to hunt you down and a terrifying thought ran down your spine. Was he hunting you because of your totem?

Or was he hunting you simply because he wanted to kill you?

“What’s the matter Red? Not used to your suit?” You tease, ducking out of the way as he sends a lash of his suit towards you however its clear he has no idea exactly where you were; As even without ducking he would have missed you by a few feet. That however doesn’t stop you from having to jump to another tree as the trunk starts to come down on your head.

“What? Did you forget how to use your mouth or are you just not the talkative type?” You call out, jumping away again as he slashes down another tree.

While you certainly weren’t against becoming a lumberjack this was a problem.

You had an idea, a crazy idea but one that could just work.

Quickly crawling up the tree you shoot a number of webs from tree to tree, making a practical trapeze network above you. Thankfully if your opponent heard the quiet ‘thwip’ of your webs he only saw them as lures and so just continued to scream and slice at trees. You do note however that he isn’t intilliable anymore, screaming about how he would kill you when he got his hands on you.

Well he wouldn’t have to wait long.

With your trap complete you leap down to a lower part of the canopy and whistle, releasing your camouflage and giving him a nice look at your red and black costume. Almost immediately he lashes out as you predicted and you leap to the next tree, sure enough his bladed whip following you.

“Looking for me big guy!?” You taunt, flipping to the next tree as his appendage gets caught in the trunk.

“Oh yeah! Looking forward to seeing your insides you brat!” he calls back, going into a frenzy as he pries his arm free; Both of them flailing and carving up the local woods.

Perfect.

“Well I’m sorry to disappoint, but i’m not into Vore.” You call, swinging yourself up to your previously set up web network. He had played right into your hands and it was time to spring your trap.

“You know, you should look into becoming a lumberjack when you get back out of prison.”

“I’m not going back!” He assures, and you watch as a tendril of the man shoots towards you.

“Then I guess I’m bringing the prison to you!”

Jumping off the central web you watch the trees begin to shake but it’s not enough to take it down. Not yet anyways.

Firing a web at the center of the system you drop like a stone, only stopping when you are close to the ground. Just as you hoped your momentum and weight were enough to bring the trees down and hopefully imprison him. Rolling upon hitting the ground you make a break for one of the holes that was still left when a blinding pain hits you and you crumple to the ground. Rolling up to a knee you feel an uncomfortable warmth and chill of blood running down your back.

“Oh no you don’t you little Shit!” He slurs, laughing as the treetops come down, pinning the two of you in the dark.

“You started this fight and you’re not leaving until we finish it.” He promises, the last thing you see being the glint of his soulless white mask before darkness consumes the both of you.

You can hear him still laughing as you get to your feet to move, only to feel another slight slash against your arm. Even with your spider sense there was little you could do, you were trapped in close with this madman and nowhere to go.

Your best option for now was simply to dodge and so you put your faith in your spider sense, running, flipping and diving whenever your tingling got particularly bad. However you can feel yourself tiring already. For every two or three deadly strikes you’d avoid a minor one would slip in. You could feel the blood drenching your skin beneath your suit and already you were feeling weaker than usual.

However you weren’t dead and something was starting to become clear.

He could morph his costume into all sorts of weapons yes, but he could not use more than one at any given time. If you could catch him off guard with his tendrils you might be able to score a few hits in and at least get out alive.

The only question was if you were going to risk it or not?

You had one shot, but you had to make it count.

Standing still you wait the few seconds you have before he continues his assault. You can practically hear them as they whistle through the air. Just as they get close you crouch and reach behind you, pulling The Blade of the Mother from whatever pocket dimension it came from. Grabbing it by the blade you use the flat to deflect the tendrils away and behind you. Throwing the sword after one of them you web up the other and you can’t help but grin as you hear the growls of frustration.

Seems you had trapped him right where you needed him.

With his suit now forced to keep its shape you charge forward and:

Fire off a pair of webs, catching the shoulders of the man before pulling yourself towards him with all your might you let yourself leave the ground, bringing your legs forward and kicking the man square in the chest. Already your muscles feel sore already as you expand out like a spring but it is worth it. You hear the slight tear of the tendrils being ripped away from his body as he is launched across and through the logs, snapping them like popsicle sticks as his body is sent soaring.

You’d pursue after him but...you feel like absolute dogshit; What with the blood loss and all.

By the time you finally get to your feet and are ready to move, twenty minutes have passed. Well, at least in that period of time he hadn’t come back. Either he had passed out from the impact or had run away, no matter what you were at least still alive. Though you also had to accept there was another totem on the loose, and this one was certainly dangerous.

Way to go ‘hero’.

Stumbling out of the impromptu trap you are about to start the long swing home when you feel something touch down in the trees above you.

“You haven’t gotten the whole ‘sneaking up on me’ thing down yet Raven.” You tease, turning to face the ever quiet empath.

“How did you know it was me and not someone else?” She returns in her normal monotone.

“Well Starfire is louder, BB doesn’t know the meaning of stealth, Robin isn’t the kind to check up on me and Cyborg can’t fly.” You respond, only to see a bolt of black energy shoot past your head; However given it had not set off your spider-sense you knew it was never going to hit you.

“What’s wrong? You usually jump at the chance for a dramatic flair.” She notes, the slightest hint of mirth on her voice.

“Nothing, just had one hell of a fight is all and I think I’ve deserved a nap.” You insist, ignoring the slight dizziness and slight bloom of your vision.

You must have lost more blood than you thought.

“Are...you sure? You usually don’t let someone get away like that. Anyone that dangerous would have to be very dangerous.” She insists, taking a step toward you.

You manage to step back and you’re thankfully able to keep solid footing as you do so.

“I promise Raven.” You insist before shooting a strand off and beginning the return trip home.

You hate to admit it takes you longer than you’d like, what with the sluggishness, drowsiness and dizziness you fell from the lack of precious lifeblood. Though when you finally do slip into your room at Ten Thirty you can’t help but feel relieved. One quick shower later and you at least don’t smell or look like you’re covered in blood

Slipping into your boxers you find a sense of comfort in the feeling of your cool cotton sheets and find yourself drifting off into a thankful, restful sleep.

You don’t know long you’re asleep before the slight breeze of your window opening surprises you. You knew for a fact that you had not left it open when you returned home, it had been something that you had made sure of ever since you started your crime fighting career. When you go to open your eyes however you recognize exactly who it is as you hear:

“Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos. Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos.”

Raven. But what was she doing here?

You go to speak up but she cuts you off.

“You aren’t a good liar, you know.”

Busted.

“What do you mean? I told you I was fine.” You insist.

“You can ‘insist’ all you want, but you can’t hide your pain.” She snaps back and you almost want to flinch, if you hadn’t known this was her sense of humor you would have.

So she finds it funny eh?

Time to return the favor.

“So why did you decide to stop by then at...what? Two, three in the morning?” You mumble.

“You always seem to forget that one of the magics I am versed in is healing.” She points out, a wave of black energy crackles between the two of you.

“I don’t forget, You just know I heal faster than average if you recall the first time we met.”

“Yes, and that was partly because of me.”

You smirk ever so slightly, time to get to work.

She was quite close to you, it must have been one of the perks of her magic; Flight and all. However it also worked to help you as you sat up, your covers falling away. You could still see the slight curve of a number of the cuts, and for a moment you had to remember that once upon a time you were a scrawny weakling.

Not anymore.

It was still weird to see the amount of muscle you had developed seemingly overnight, and you were still not used to how tight some of your clothes were. This however would be your advantage in this instance. It was clear that Raven was expecting something, but she was probably not expecting what was coming.

“Shhh-ah I forgot how much these things stung.” You gasp, throwing your legs over the side of your bed, slightly rolling your shoulders.

“What are you doing?” She asks

“Doesn’t your healing magic stuff work better on contact?” You ask innocently, shivering at the slight breeze.

“...Yes, and?”

“Well, here.” You answer, gently grabbing her her hand and pressing her fingers to the larger of the cuts on your chest.

There is a few seconds of silence and you cannot help smirk internally. You could feel the slight tension of surprise and hesitation in her fingertips and for a moment you are unsure if it is out of anger or surprise. Raven was notoriously difficult to read and having known her for two weeks even as an associate you still had no idea what she thought.

Though whatever her feelings on the matter were were relevant as she came to rest her palm on the spot, and after a moment you could feel the same slight cold sensation you had felt the first night you had met. Closing your eyes you do what you can to relax as whatever she does go to work.

The silence is a deafening one, as you mull the potential harm or good your stupid move had done when she speaks up.

“So the other totem did this to you?” She asks, her voice her ever neutral monotone.

You nod. “His suit was less like a suit and more like a living entity. It could make all sorts of alterations and weapons from itself and I had to be the bait.” You explain.

“And why is that?” She continues to question and again you can feel the slight chastising in her words.

You go silent. It was honestly something you hadn’t thought about it in that sort of way. If it had boiled down to it could you accept dying? Would you?

“Well...I have these powers now. If it were just me out there, no costume and the same scrawny nerd I am beneath it I probably wouldn’t be able to move. But I can’t afford to be that; I can’t afford to be afraid or let that fear overcome me. For once in my life I have the power to do something and I’m going to make it count.” You answer hesitantly, the words just tumbling from your mind.

“Besides it’s part of the whole ‘being a hero’ schtick, isn’t it? Putting your life on the line and risking things for the greater good?” You ask in return.

“I suppose. Turn around, I have to get your back.” She orders.

You do as asked, rolling your shoulders before the slight touch of her warm hand on your back. Feeling the slight cool sensation of her magic at work you once again return to the comfortable silence. As you continue to sit there something comes to mind, she had asked you a question and it would only be fair to ask her a question in return. Right?

Finally it comes to you.

“Why are you doing this?”

“What do you mean? I’m your tea-”

“I don’t mean that. I mean...with the totems, with my powers, with covering up that I almost murdered a man.” You clarify.

Feeling her hand freeze it is clear that you had struck home as even the sensation of her healing went away, leaving you with the slight warmth of her hand. You aren’t even sure if she’s going to respond for a few seconds but when she does answer it puzzles you.

“Because you and I are in similar positions, powers and responsibilities that were thrown upon us. Tell me, how much about me beyond being a Titan do you know?”

“If i’m honest nothing.” You answer, turning your head to get a glimpse of the girl’s face.

“And the Justice League would have it stay that way.” She says, before a ghost of a frown covers her face.

“I’m guessing whatever it was they weren’t willing to help out?” You assess.

“Got it in one.” She responds and once more silence fills the space between you.

“You didn’t really answer my question though, what does all of that have to do with helping me?” You repeat.

“Because you’re just like me in one regard; The power we have be given is our own. What we choose to do with it belongs to us and us alone. When you first started you had no idea what was happening to you, and if one thing went wrong you may have gone down a very different path; Maybe the same as the man who attempted to kidnap your Uncle.” She relents.

“And if the others knew what it was they might not see it that way?” You ask.

She nods.

“People are afraid of what they don’t understand and doubly so when they are told it’s evil.” The Sorceress says and for a moment you can glimpse a sadness, if not in her face then in her voice.

It was the first time that you had seen any sort of real emotion leak through. Whatever it was she was referring to with the League was something clearly bad, so much so that the greatest heroes on Earth refused to help. You couldn’t peg down exactly how she looked at it, but nevertheless her at least disappointment was notable.

>What do you say?
>A. Well if you’re so insistent on helping me out, the least I could do is return the favor; Come hell or high water.

“What could possibly be so disastrous that the Justice League just refuse to help?” You ask, ignoring her healing touch entirely and turning back to face her.

“The kind of disaster that they could potentially not deal with. A true Apocalyptic event the likes of which can never come to pass.” She replies hotly, and for a moment you’re shocked at the slight anger and glow of red around her eyes. Just as quickly as it appears it is gone and the slight tremble tells you all you need to know.

Strong as she was, Raven was afraid; And you knew exactly what you needed to say.

“Well, I guess we’re just gonna have to stop it then.”

“W-what?!” She chokes out, cleary not expecting the blunt answer.

“What? It’s the least I can do for all your help.” You reply, the slightest smirk on your face.

“But stopping you from doing something devastating is nothing compared to-”

“So?” You cut her off. “Almost a month ago we were complete strangers and all you knew about me was that I had spider powers and yet you managed to keep me from ending a man's life. You didn’t do it for yourself, or me, you did it because it was the right thing to do.” You continue, running your hand over your face and wiping whatever tiredness there still was.

“You just told me something might happen and the world will end. And if it is well...I’d rather face it head on beside you than leave you to face it alone.”

You had expected silence, you did not expect the small lightbulb above your head to go on before exploding into a shower of glass. You manage to roll off of your bed before the shower of glass hits your bed, and you aren’t exactly sure what happened. You turn to look to Raven but she’s gone.

Weird.

Sighing you bundle up your comforter before stepping out onto the fire escape before shaking it furiously to try and get rid of all the glass. A few minutes later you’re back in bed, wounds feeling far better than they had before and sure enough sleep finds you once more.

When your alarm wakes you up again another four hours later you groan, rolling out of bed and throwing on a shirt. While Aunt May was certainly not against you showing off your recently acquired super body, you were still nervous of Uncle Ben not only finding out but starting to ask questions. It was a Sunday and so you had little really to do and so after a welcome and long shower you towel off and head down for a late breakfast.

And you are joined by your Uncle, his old rucksack sat beside him.

“Going on a trip?” You ask in genuine surprise.

“Sorta sport, got in contact with a few old members of my unit and put together a bit of a retreat for us. Figured we could spend a week getting catching up, some fishing and hunting. You’re free to come along if you want to spor-”

“No! No! I-uh I mean I’d love to but I’ve got school and homework and all that.” You quickly excuse, not wanting to suffer a week around a bunch of war vets talking about their healthcare plans.

“Your loss sport.” He insists, grunting slightly as he shirks his pack onto his shoulder. “Welll I already kissed your Aunt goodbye and I’m ready for the road. Just...watch after her for me? After what happened I…”

You clasp a hand on his shoulder.

“I promise, I won’t let anything happen.”

Ben gives you a smile before pulling you into a one armed hug.

“I know you won’t.”

And with that he was out the door, leaving you alone with your thoughts and plans on what you’d do that day.

Tearing through your breakfast you mull over the many things you could do on a Sunday. Setting your plate in the sink you decide that as much as you may regret it, you would call Felicia. The two of you had a...strange relationship as of late. With both of you aware of each others identities in costume there was an odd sense of wordplay.

And while it may seem to everyone else at school that you were still on polar opposites of the social spectrum, you were becoming what you’d dare to call friends. Stepping out into the hall and making your way towards the stairwell you decide to ring the girl. You’re almost afraid that she won’t pick up, but sure enough on the third ring the line connects.

“Hello?”

“Hey its uh, it’s Alex.” You stutter in response and you hear her at least attempt to muffle her chuckle.

“Hey Tiger, I was wondering when you’d call me, what’s up?” She asks, and you can’t help but feel uncomfortable.

“Just have a free Sunday and figured that uh, you might want to hang out?” You explain and to your suprise you get an answer.

“Sure thing, just got out of Cheerleading practice. Why not swing on by?”

Ah...that was her idea, tease you a bit because to everyone else you’re still the nervous and shy Alexander White.

>Well, are we gonna play her game?
>A. You may as well, even if you’ll have to deal with the teasing.
>B. Nah, you don’t need to be tormented anymore than you already do at school.

Swing by huh?

“You got it. Just uh, give me one second.” You say, smirking as you quickly jog into the alley and in a flash you’re once more in your costume.

“I’ll be right over.” You assure, your voice far more level than it had been a moment before and it seems Felicia picks up on it.

“Are you doing what I think you’re doing?!” She asks in shock and you chuckle.

“You DID say they had crushes on ‘Spider-Man’. I’d hate to disappoint.” Reply, going to hang up your phone as she starts to shout into it. Though that comes to a halt once you hang up.

Swinging along you do enjoy the early morning air and the surprised notices of pedestrians as you swing low. It did amaze you how just a mask could help improve your confidence, and just how many people had come to cheer on a relatively new hero. However today wasn’t the day to stop and chat up people or put on an acrobatic show.

You had to save all that charisma and confidence for what was to come.

It doesn’t take you long to swing along to the highschool, and sure enough you can see Felecia and the rest of her usual clique in their sky blue and white cheer outfits. As you get closer and closer you see that Felicia is sure enough at the top of a cheer pyramid. Seeing this your brain does a number of surprisingly quick calculations you have a plan in place and decide to go for it.

Slingshotting yourself off the field goal posts you sail through the sky; The sound of their cheering masks your movements as you sprint across the field towards them crossing the distance Flash would usually do for a touchdown in a fraction of the time. Still halfway from the group you watch as Felicia and the other girls crouch in what you can only imagine is a jump you panic for a split second, however you quickly scrap together a plan. Watching the girls leap into the air you see the girls that they were standing on bring their hands up to catch them and so you see the perfect opportunity.

Flipping through a corkscrew you springboard, arching through the air in a high backflip. Doing a quick mid air somersault you slow yourself down enough that by the time you reach the top of the pyramid your touchdown does not disturb it, handstanding atop the group of girls with an unearthly ease. A moment later you feel the slight touch down of your would-be friend, and looking up you see that sure enough Felicia is above you, looking down at you with suprise.

However you also catch a nice glimpse of red beneath her skirt, but that was an added bonus.

Looking down you see the face of Gwen Stacy facing back at you, her shock evident.

“Hello there!”

“Hello there!”

>Attempt to refrain for responding by shouting "GENERAL KENOBI!"

Turns out 4chan isn't blocked by campus IT
>>
The collective shriek of surprise and excitement from the group of girls is actually enough to force your costume to ripple across your skin, though you at least manage to keep it from tripping out into a number of colors as it had before. However this does not stop the pyramid from almost collapsing. Acting quickly you springboard up, catching Felicia in your arms and tucking into a somersault landing.

“You just had to have a flare for the dramatic, huh web-head.” She says quietly and you can’t help but chuckle.

“Well you did say ‘swing by’ kitty cat.” You return, setting her down before turning to your now adoring audience.

“Sorry if I’m interrupting anything, I just saw a few beautiful ladies and I couldn’t help but want to join in the fun.” You say, and while you can already feel Felicia wanting to slap you upside the head but it seems that sure enough the girls eat it up.

For the next few minutes it becomes something similar to a competition between you and the girls, performing impossible feats of acrobatics the occasional web-swinging ride. Seeing the swooning faces and obvious excuses to try and touch your physique was certainly eye opening, and not in the way you had wanted. Sure as Spider-Man you were interesting but was that really all it took?

You’d have to talk to Felicia about it.

Thankfully it does not take much longer before the cheer coach finally ushers the girls to change and you’re able to slip away, hiding under the bleachers before walking back out in your street clothes.

You’re thankful that Felicity is the first out, however the slight scowl of anger is certainly worrying. You give her a slight wave as she gets closer though.

“Hi, uh...Felicia.” You stammer, partly faking it and partly real fear.

“Oh don’t you ‘hi Felicia’ me, buster.” She starts, already up the bleachers and glaring at you slightly, her blue eyes dark with her frustration. “I had to listen to them gush about how hard your muscles are and what they’d let you get away with in a dark room!” She elaborates.

While you certainly could look the girl in the face, though without her green contacts it was certainly easier to get lost in her eyes.

“I...what?” You ask, half stunned by her eyes and half stunned by her explanation.

“You heard me buster, so it’s payback time.” She says with a grin before taking your hand.

“Come on, Tighty Whitey! We’re going Shopping!”

You could already feel your wallet thinning and your face paling.

How did you find yourself in this position?

This was the question you were asking yourself as you stood in the changing room of one of those high tag franchise stores. Apparently thanks to Felicia’s ‘part-time job’ she had a lot of disposable income, the kind of disposable income that could afford torturing you by taking you to get clothing. When she had first told you that she was dragging you shopping you had thought that it was you buying HER things, not the other way around.

Wait a minute...WERE YOU A SUGAR BABY NOW?!

Sighing you slipped one of the collared shirts over your head and had to admit, it was nice to have clothes that fit you. Before your transformation everything was too big and baggy, and after what clothes you had were far too tight. While you had gotten a number of shirts that were certainly ‘your style’, she also insisted on getting something ‘You could wear to a party’.

Why did it have to be a Pink shirt?

“Come on now tiger, I know it doesn’t take you that long to get changed.” She says, tapping slightly on the door.

Muttering to yourself you open the door and step out, much to the grateful purr of your companion. As you finally step through she’s already ahead of you and quickly undoes the top button you had done out of comfort.

“Theerre we go, Perfect!” She says with a smile.

“And just why did you insist for me to get this? What parties am I ever invited to?” You ask, raising a curious eyebrow at her.

“Well, there’s a party at Flash’s next weekend and I’m taking you as my +1” She says casually as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

“Oh yeah that makes se- WAIT WHAT?!”

Not quite, I just see it like this.

Don't look at it like "You will be route locked because you want one waifu."

I know this is a quest but it is a simulation of at least the life of Alexander White; There will be multiple relationships, break-up's, flings and who knows what else. Play the field a bit, get close to people, make friends and maybe fall in love.

Don't just dive head long in as if you're saving it for marriage.
>>
>>2387762
So play like youre controlling someones life, not like a dating sim
>>
>>2387774
I mean, ask yourself. What's more rewarding as a narrative experience? Just 'upping' your relation to get sex or going through the motions and actually cultivating something deeper?

Sure it's just fiction but it's a ride you get to go along with too.

“Okay this has to be a joke now.” You moan “Even I know that’s just going to spell trouble.” You point out and she just chuckles.

“Maybe so, but I have a good reason for it, honest!” she insists.

“Oh, and what’s that? Getting me dunked in the punch bowl?” You ask.

“Not quite, but with a pessimistic attitude like out maybe this is needed.” She starts. “Look Alex, an hour ago I watched you flirt with every ‘popular’ girl in school and get on like a fish in water. Girls like that, and with your new super bod people are bound to notice. “ She continues, rolling her eyes at you.

“You need a friend to help you out of your shell, and that’s gonna have to be me.” She says with a smile. “

“Are...you sure about this?” You ask, your voice quiet as your proverbial ‘shell’ is left far behind you.

“If it were me you wouldn’t be saying that. It wasn’t me they wanted to ‘have alone in a dark room’.” You paraphrase, going so far as to add air quotations.

“They want Spider-Man, not the nerdy loser Alex White..But something tells me you won’t buy that, will you? Your convinced about this.” You state, getting a nod of confirmation from the girl.

“You're not two different people either, you just are more comfortable in costume. Look at it as training I guess, to become more comfortable with who you really are.” She suggests.

You pause on this idea for a moment; There was that fact, even if it was a party you weren’t the same scrawny kid you used to be.

“Okay...I...I’ll be there but just promise me I won’t get eaten alive.” You answer, looking her in the eye.

She only gives you a grin.

“I mean, I can’t promise that YOU won’t be the one eating SOMETHING. But I will do my best to keep Flash and his goons from killing you.” She says.

You blush, but can’t help but wondering a thought.

‘What does she mean I’ll be eating something?’

With the last of the purchases set and done you are naturally given the ‘gift’ of carrying the number of bags. You aren’t sure what it is that Felcia had bought for her herself but it didn’t really matter, as for the first time in your life a good thirty pounds of clothing felt like nothing.

“You really weren’t kidding about the whole strength thing were you?” She asks, surprised as you step back out into the bustling hall of the mall.

For a time it feels surprisingly...normal walking along and talking to who you once thought was one of those unreachable girls. There was certainly some topics that could not be touched due to a lack of knowledge on one side or another, but that didn’t stop you. And for a while you almost forget the social difference between you.

But as always good things must come to an end, and that end came in the form of Jump Regional varsity jackets.

“Well well well, what do we have here? Poor little tighty Whitey playing pack mule thinking he’ll get anywhere!” He taunts, getting a laugh out of the oncoming group of jocks.

Great, just great.

For a moment you can feel that slight souring in your stomach at the sound of their laughter, and you’re almost afraid that this was all a joke. But if it were why would she have gone out of her way, and that stops those thoughts in their tracks. And so as you look between Felicia and Flash’s goons you echo what she had told you before.

‘You’re in your shell, but you can come out of it. You can do this. What would Spider-Man say? What would I say.’

And so with those words in mind you speak up. “Look Flash, is that the best you can think up? You see me with a pretty girl and your first thought is ‘he’s beneath her’? Let’s hope you’re better at throwing parties than you do insults, because as it stands I’m not looking forward to next weekend.” You challenge, and for a moment it’s evident he is stunned, but only a moment.

“You know Whitey, if I wanted a comeback from you I would’ve asked your Mother.”

That was a low blow, however you’re already firing back.

“Why Flash, I didn’t know you were a necrophile. Or is it just that it’s easier to fuck a girl who can’t fight back?”

It’s evident he wasn’t expecting the second retort so you continue your offensive, walking towards him you make no effort to break eye contact with him.

“Look, you’re better than this Flash. All this beating up on me should have been left on the playground back in 8th grade. I’m not your dick, you can’t just beat me because you are upset about daddy’s drinking problem.”

With that you walk right past him, Felicia in tow while his croneys do what they can to try and pump their leader’s deflated ego.

“You know Tiger, when I said be more confident I didn’t mean to take it up to Flash’s level.” She says quietly, and you frown.

“You’re probably right, but at the same time for every swirly and shove he’s given me I think i’m allowed one shot at his ego.” You admit, what confidence you had managed to pump up already deflating as you walked away.

“Fair enough.” She says, though you aren’t sure what the tone of her is coming from.

Quickly going out to the parking lot you place the bags in the back of Felicia's car before quietly taking up shotgun.

“So uh...did you mean what I you said? That I looked good?” You ask, though you’re already internally smacking yourself for sounding so...surprised? Small?

She gives a slight smile as she slides the key into the ignition.

“You’re almost like a pre-teen girl, you know that?” She says, though any hostility that you’d expect is not there. “So afraid of compliments because you’re used to being given insults.” She Childs.

“So i’ll take that as a No then?” You reply.

She laughs.

“Why would I lie to you about looking good? I mean look at it this way, the girls weren’t just going ga-ga for you just because of your confidence.” She answers, and while that particular nervous weight is off your shoulders the guilt boiling in your stomach is still very much there.

You weren’t usually so...aggressive with people and while in the moment it certainly felt good in the moment it was now far less enjoyable.

“I went overboard, didn’t I?” You ask after a few minutes of driving.

“Hm? What do you mean?”

“With Flash. Just because he started it I finished, I went after him because I was angry about it. It wasn’t right...it wasn’t me.” You explain, fidgeting with your hands as you await her response.

“Yes, but that doesn’t change that you’re still you. I mean look at you, if I had to deal with someone like Flash the way you do I’d have torn him apart already. And while it’s very much not who you are to do it, look at you; You’re able to recognize that you went beyond your ‘normal’ and you feel bad about it.” She tells you, and for a moment you’re surprised by her insight.

“You’re good person, Alex. Don’t forget that.”

You chuckle to yourself.

“Am I? After all it was you that pointed out I had crossed the line, so I guess it takes one to know one.” You return, and it seems to catch her off guard.

“Just because I can see good doesn’t make me good, I mean you know what my side-job is.” She reminds you.

“And the only reason I’m not where you are is because someone saved me from making perhaps the biggest mistake imaginable.” You reply, letting the conversation drop away.

It was certainly strange. Yes it was true that when this weekend was over you’d go back to pretending you were strangers in completely different social structures, but for today at least you were friends. Was it just because of your shared secret? Or was it that she was right: if you were just more confident and stood up for yourself it would have happened anyway?

“So, what’s the plan now Kitty Cat?” You ask.

“Well, I’ve got another hour to kill before I promised a few friends to work on a project tonight. But until that we’ve got time if you’ve got any ideas.”

And so you spend a good half an hour just sat in her car, parked just outside her home. You knew this would probably the last time in awhile you would be able to spend like this. At least out of costume that is.

That’s when it hits you.

“Say, Felicia. I don’t suppose you’re doing anything later tonight? Any work you’re planning on doing I mean.” You ask.

“What if I am? Got a problem with that?” She retaliates, narrowing eyes slightly.

“Oh no! No no no no! Not because of that just...I have an idea. A proposition if you would.” You quickly reiterate, holding your hands up.

“I’m Listening.”

“So, you’re a cat burglar right? Well no, of course that's right.” You start, already starting to stammer as you try and get to the point. “And well, you know me I’m well...Spider-Man. But what if we worked together on something?”

“Work on what exactly?” She pushes.

“Robin Hood it.” You say simply.

“Robin Hood it?”

“Yeah, you know...you swoop in and steal from the bad guys, I come in and get the bad guys. You get the dirty money, we put some really bad people behind bars. Everybody wins.” You explain and as you go on her smile begins to widen until it is practically splitting her face.

“Oh Tiger thats good, that’s really, really good!” She says, beginning to chuckle and giggle in glee.

“Meet me back here at 8 and I’ll see if I can case a good job.” She insists, shooing you out of her car before you grab your new clothes and wave her a goodbye.

You can’t help but grin at the prospect of the coming evening and even as you go to dial up Harry you start to whistle to yourself, an extra pep in your step. The future was looking bright, very very bright.
