Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to this game of traditional Evolution! The rules are simple, for those unaware of them.

How to play:
1. Find a creature still alive
2. Make up a nice mutation for them
3. Paste the critter in MSPaint
4. Add the mutation to them
5. Post here, with a description.

Sometimes there will be natural disasters, requiring species to either adapt or face extinction.

Now, for do's/don'ts
DO post no matter how shitty your art is! It's not that hard to edit in paint, just do your best!
DO try to use the pencil tool instead of brushes, as it will make it easier to edit linework and recolor
DON'T mutate the same creature twice in a row! There'll be plenty of family lines in need of love.
DON'T overdo mutations. A creature doesn't suddenly grow legs, intellect and fire-breathing.

Now, without further ado, let me introduce the starting creatures!

This species of Bonebeak has been almost outcompeted to extinction, but a genetic illness common among it suddenly turned into an advantage. The species now has two additional limbs equipped with beaks, which allow it to grab it's prey. Flumph's acid was mostly useless as a defense, but as a digestive aid it was impressive. Those creatures which had better eyes and a mutation that caused extra tendrils would crawl along the sea floor swallowing rock crabs and even Phloomps into the top of it's tube like digestive track. By the time they were excreted out by the legs, all that was left was an exoskeleton.

The Backcrab now has the best of both worlds when it comes to mobility: It's new tongue forks into three flat parts, all of which can be used as large fins and two of which can convert to agile legs. The new tongue can also be used to grab things, although the Backcrab can't swim or use the two legs when it's grabbing something.

>>
>>2327737
It would be a real shame if someone posted shitscribbles in it, wouldn't it?
>>
>>2327511
I would strongly disagree, but that's largely because of my own bias of being the one that properly adapted a size increment system.

I would agree that by enforcing players to state the precise size of an organism in an EvoGame can be thought of by some as an extra step, but I feel that having size increments in a range of sizes actually aids in better establishing the range of diversity in the environment. I would even go as far to say that's why some of the games I've been running have still persisted.

Again, this is only my opinion, since this particular EvoGame has done very well for its first foray.

an offshoot of the burrowubug is the memebug, while a serious evo, it has a sense of humor, and an even better sense of smell for finding food under the sand. It's rear flipper clap together to frighten away predators.

Is that something you guys would really like? I won't say no, but do considered the organisms that have spawned onto my worlds.

It doesn't take much for an organisms to end up a keystone species or an apex predator. Consider this as I start crafting.

The Cynemorphs that had for generations grown in the husks of soft bodied organisms now evolve a new tactic for spreading themselves across the ocean floor.

Their spores grow slightly larger, developing nettle-like bodies that stick onto soft tissues (such as tongues, gill slits, and semi-permeable surfaces).

The individual spores at worst are a mild irritant and do not pose much danger to the organism, but each spore carries with it a small, mild dose of the Cynemorph poison dubbed Dancury Nervorum.

This poison is able to diffuse into the soft tissues of its carrier, and those organisms with a higher dosage of Dancury Nervorum suffer minor nerve damage as a result. This causes the organisms to spasm in the water temporarily, shaking its incumbent Cynemorph spores across the seabed, or even onto other nearby organisms, thus allowing the spores to travel even farther distances.

a thick layer of acidic mucous allows some Flumphs to catch, smother, and digest the abundant spores, eventually serving as a sort of biological cleaning station. species will voluntarily get swallowed by this particular creature and pass out the other side free of not only spores, but parasites. Surely this will not be exploited.

Some Flumphs are so successful with this strategy that they become largely sedimentary, just settling down next to cynemorph colonies and eating their spores until supply runs out after which they move on very slowly.

It has now only little means to defend itself against predators however, especially parasites that attack it from the non-mucous side are a real problem for it.

The Backcrab's gill slits are now connected to it's throat, allowing it to use it's breathing to augment it's swimming speed. Sometimes their saliva gets in their gills, so they learned a "sneezing" behavior, which removes the saliva from the gills. Because of this behavior, they are called the Sneezing Backcrabs.

A type of Bonebeak turns it's beak into a harpoon with which to anchor itself, and uses it's now prehensile sucking mouth to gather blood from the wound. As this new parasitic lifestyle requires a degree of stealth, they become smaller and as such harder to detect. Copulation is incredibly quick in this species, and even a few seconds of contact between two creatures with parasites results in impregnation. Once the young is born, they will feed on the same host as their mother.

As the Sandcrabs improve their ability to burrow, so do the Shagohood Boneheads, formerly Kabuto Boneheads, improve their ability to hunt the Sandcrabs. Their shells are now made of a different material, one that is more receptive to vibrations, and their head cavities become filled with liquid, improving their echolocation and allowing them to detect Sandcrabs under the sand. As they no longer need to swim to chase their prey, their tails convert into a form adapted to crawling.
