Information pastebin: https://pastebin.com/vSXCNHAQ

You are Crew Boss Levi, a mechanic in charge of repairs to Alex's mech. After finally reuniting with Alex, you see he is, in fact, still an idiot. You and your mech ended up somewhere other than outside the backwater base on a polluted world you called home.

(You are also Captain Alex, Proxima Aquarii Federation, 4th Fringe Machine Infantry. When heading to a routine exercise, you were pulled to this world.)

Now you're stuck in a world that's verdant, green, and full of life, where people use 'magic' and gods rule. Naturally, you should be cautious.

You are a mechanic, a skilled civilian who is capable of repairing and piloting mechs to even creating weapons. You pilot the Hummingbird, a swift VTOL with a mech form based around sniping other mechs.

You have recently been summoned by your idiotic ace pilot, who has managed to make themselves into a hivemind... With one part that is a small girl. You have recently recovered and secured the colony of Port Haller. You are now wandering the forest at Alex's instructions looking for elves... so you can take your outfit off without getting affected by unknown pathogens.

Your aircraft slowly moves through the wide trees, scanning for active mechs, survivors, anything. Alex directs you towards their city...

You can't help but think of Seirye, what would she think of this devastation.

Your scanners fail to find any survivors... Also you can't get schematics from scans of wrecks... You slowly float forward... until you find... walkways in the treetops. You move up and find a city... with minimal life. There are people, but they seem to be hiding from your VTOL. You are debating on what to do when a warning picks up. A skittering mech like a great spider crawls from one of the spires, and array of crude missile weapons aiming at your mech.

"What sort of intruder are you?"

Your readings show a large composition of this mech is wood. Your weapons would shatter it.

their fucking mech is made out of wood, i would say its a pretty safe bet that they are the one elven mech that was not destroyed, its good to be careful but like christ, it is fucking made out of WOOD and its weapons are crude missiles. and whats the likelihood that anyone out here would know what the fucking federation is. i have doubts that mera knows anything about the federation, as well, i highly doubt we will be in any danger whatsoever if we say that we are federation, even so, why would we? Its a safe bet that they are elves, lets just simply say, 'yeah were the same guys who came in here like 10 threads ago" and leave it at that.

"Yeah, I'm Levi, a mechanic. And this is my flying machine, full of missiles and fire. I'm not here to hurt anyone, but if you try firing those things you have there at me, I'm not going to hesitate in ripping apart your wooden spider there." You say through your speakers, "I was looking for Acarit's shrine, but it seems to be broken. What happened?"

The spider mech keeps its aim steady, "Royal knights found the shrine, They came in force when we tried to defend it, Locksley and Wilfred destroying much of our forces..."

"So you are in trouble then?"

"No, the city will remain hidden. How you got here is a concern though. How did you do it?"

"...Know anyone called Alex?" You try.

"Holder of the goddess's stash?" The spider asks.

...The what now? You look at Alex, who... turns their gaze away from you.

"The goddess's stash?"

"I got lucky, okay? Acarit gave me a gift." Alex mutters.

"...a gift of...?"

"...weed."

"You are saying... you have a stash of divine... weed. Alex, seriously, why. Why do you always go for the stupidest shit?" You groan, looking to the mech, "Yeah, that Alex. I came by because of him."

"...If you land and show yourselves, we might believe you." The guardian replies.

>Tell them that if the looks of this machine, the fact that we know about Alex and we NOT SHOOTING THEM EVEN IF WE HAVE FAR SUPERIOR FIREPOWER isn't enough proof we don't have any reason to belive that they are going to belive us anyway.

"Buddy, if the fact I know who alex is, the fact that I am hovering here and have you outgunned to rights doesn't make you believe me, then what good will landing do? But here." You pop open the cockpit glass.

"...is that a child in there with you?"

"Yes. This child is mine. Is that alright with you? I need permission to bring a kid with me?" You ask.

"No, it's just... most people don't bring-"

"Most people don't have a VTOL with infinite missiles either, but guess what, here we are." You shrug, clsing the cockpit, "Now, about that shrine, I'd love to give you guys some help in rebuilding it, but if that's not an option, where is the nearest one?"

The mech's pilot pauses, "...well, we are currently locating a grove that would suit the shrine. You'll just have to wait... It's not something outsiders should know."

For crying out loud, "How long will it take?"

"A few days yet, for certain." ...at this rate flying to another would be better.

"Any other shrines nearby?"

"...not near the Meran empire, there are quite a lot in the endless forest, but that's another continent away."

Yeah, no. With the siren shit back on the island, waiting is better. Fantastic... "Can I go around town?"

"Certainly, but if you start anything..." the mech warns.

"...I'm not an idiot." If you started anything this damn spidermech couldn't stop you. You land in an open spot, probably a city square or something... what does it matter, there's no landing pads.

>You have switched to Alex.
You lead Levi to the magic shop. Strolling in, the woman greets Levi and you.

"Hello, miss, we're founding a colony of technology and knowledge, and we'd love for you to join us!"

The elf looks at you, "No."

What? No, maybe you can salvage this, "Well, we are making a shrine to Mirna there too, and we could use smart people at our colony-"

"Child. I am a shopowner. I have spent a great deal of my life building this place up. Is your colony along a major trade route?"

You pause, "No, but it might be in the future..."

"Then ask me in the future when it is, because right now, I refuse to move from an established city with constant traffic and trade, where all my friends and family live, understand?"

You nod. Well shit, not even a cute face could get her. You look to Levi.

"Don't look at me. I wasn't going to try to recruit an established shopkeep to a colony in the middle of a siren-infested sea. How were they going to bring their books Alex?"

... You didn't think of that, actually, whoops.
>what do you do next?
>>

offer the hummingbird to help search for a new shrine location.
>>
>>2292660
>what do you do next?

Pray to Mirna, obviously. Pray for her to not answer the prayers or requests of uppity shit elves that don't actually care for knowledge, merely commerce.

Out loud, ask her what elves MIGHT be interested.

Afterwards casually point out that if Mera's empire knows where they are now, then they might not have a standing city for long. Sitting there waiting for the end is what the stoner elves do, though, so . . .

Point: We have the Goddess Herb. We can use that to lure Crafts Elves in. Fuck this stuck up bint. Let's get some Wine Brewing Elves instead first, so we can get some Dwarves and Orcs to come up.
>>
>>2292660
I mean, she doesn't want to come for a bit to help us archive all the exotic books, with exclusive rights to distribute them in other nations?

She DOES know that we already have the technology and knowledge, and mostly we need people to organize and distribute it, yes?

>>2292660
let's make sure Mirran's shrine is ok.

Levi shrugs. You decide to leas her to Mirna's shrine. That might help things out.

"So... this entire place was a pointless visit?" Levi asks, "I thought you had ties here."

"Not really..." You frown, "I thought maybe..."

"Damnit Alex, think things through!" Levi groans, "We have to wait for the shrine to be repaired before we can go back."

"Then let's check on Mirna's shrine." You suggest. After all, if Acarit's shrines were found, and Mirna's was nearby.

Levi sighs but goes along. You both leave the elven city. You direct the mechanic to Mirna's shrine under the river. Levi stares at you, "This mech isn't a newt. Hummingbirds are not amphibious."

She lands on the riverbank. You both hop out, inspecting the area. Luckily, it seems there is a tree nearby with a hollow... a spiral staircase extends below.

You have Levi scan the area... there's nothing nearby, but Levi can't see underground where the staircase goes.

You decide to sneak in, pistol ready.

You carefully advance down, Levi following you and judging your actions. Finally, you reach a door... what lies on the other side is a mystery.

You motion to Levi to be careful. You can hear her sigh.

You perform the greatest combat roll in the history of combat rolls, so perfectly executed and badass, it sent a ripple through space in time and your military instructor back home shed a tear. The god of war wept at its glory. Space ninjas, who mastered the art of combat rolls, hung their heads in shame at the display, for they could never hope to reach such flawless perfection.

And Levi whistled, impressed. This noise would have been an issue, had you not rolled int a room with nobody in it. In fact, it just contained a bed, drawers, a crystal lamp... and another door...

You go into the next room. Once more you step into the underwater library. The room is quiet, without the sense of dread from before. bookshelves line the area as you move in.

"Hey, levi, can you scan these with a drone?"

"...What, you mean scan a book and turn it to data? Alex do you even know how drones work? No you can't digitize books from a single scan, you have to meticulously go and scan each page." Alex groans.
