General Rules

15 min voting period after each main post. Write-ins votes are welcomed/encouraged. Votes that are non-contradictory and add to the narrative will be considered. Think 'Rule of Cool'

Combat mechanics/skill test will be done using best 3 out of 5 rolls of 1d100, unless otherwise specified. Modifiers may come into play depending on the MC's statistics which can improve odds and vice versa as the QM sees fit. The QM will do their best to inform players of when such modifiers will come up during votes. (Example: Aim at a target at long range with a scattershot weapon will require a higher roll to make a successful hit than a normal blaster weapon).

Training with other bots and successful missions can add to your overall abilities. Strong character relationships with your comrades can also benefit the MC as it will improve battle synergy and moral (less likely to want to fall back/retreat). Of course the vice versa can come into play as well. A failed mission may have consequences but result in unforeseen outcomes (In the show, Tarantulus, Blackarachnia, & Quickstrike were supposed to secure an energon post. The Maximals interfered, resulting in the loss of the post BUT Tarantulus gained a new lair.). A Predacon can always sabotage missions to make other bots look incompetent as well, just hope you’re persuasive enough to do so and watch out for those

Also keep an eye out at your energon build up levels; too much time in robot mode outside of a structure, such as a base can cause negative impacts on your combat maneuvers/skill test, including potential loss of spark. In the event of loss of spark, pending the results of a vote, a time lapse in the narrative will happen and a new stasis pod will fall. (Roll for new character or with a high relation level, a blank protoform will descend and your allies will reignite your spark)

Last time on Beast Wars Quest
You and your fellow Maximals went to retrieve an stasis pod and welcomed a new ally to your ranks. Meanwhile the second team was heading into the Predacon controlled swamp lands to reach a second fallen stasis pod...
>>
Late post conclusion of the last thread

Taking measure of the battlefield with a bird's eye view, you can conclude that both Terrorsaur and Inferno are still out of it. Most likely they're in stasis lock. Closer, you have Waspinator, though he doesnt look to be much of a problem. You clearly see embedded in the snow is the upside down green chassis of the bug sticking out; his tail and leg occasionally twitching and sparking. Even if he wasn't out cold, you're certain you could handle the little guy, he is a fan after all.

A short distance away from the fallen Predacon is your little drone. With one of its wings bent and slightly smoking, its definitely taken some damage. Its not a lost cause, but will not be operational anytime soon. Fortunately, you're certain Rhinox will be able to make the repairs to it.

Landing you pick up and return it to its holster. You look back at the pitiful bug; still down for the count. Before you can choose to do anything else, your radio cracks to life.

"Hey bird girl, Tigatron, Kickback and I are ready to head on back to the Axalon. You done yet?"

"Yea i got my drone." You transform back into your owl form as you rise back into the chilly air. "What about the second team? Any word yet?"

"Aw, you miss your little pussy cat?"

"Well there were two pods that came down. I thought they might need back up."

Tigatron interjects. "I'm certain our friends can hold their own. Besides, com signals wont reach this far to the north from where they were heading."

You take stock of the situation. While heading back to the Axalon would be the smartest move, despite the combat with the Predacons, you're still mostly in good shape. Minus the drone and your gun jam, your energy levels are still in decent shape. Good thing your unique chassis has the space for it. It'll still take you sometime to get down the swamps though and even at top speed you might be arriving too late to be of any real assistance.

>Head back with the rest of your group. Pod retrieval team 1: mission accomplished
>Fly to the south; Nightracer will attempt to assist Pod retrieval team 2
>Fly close enough to the south to get radio contact, but then head back to base

After this vote, we will be switching perspectives to the second maximal pod retrieval team

>>Fly to the south; Nightracer will attempt to assist Pod retrieval team 2

It doesn't take long to think about out it. You have two of your friends, or pets depending on how you like to look at it, down there and your not about to leave them high and dry. Besides there's something else that they didn't consider immediately.

"Hey, never hurts to lend a hand if the others might need it." You pause, flapping your wings to hover in place looking back at them. You give them a wink and ruffle your tail feathers as you start to turn down south.

"Besides, this way I get to feel good about letting you three lug Kickback's pod back home."

"Oh for boot in the cold..." You hear Rattrap, even without the comlink.

"Is she always like this?" Kickback looks at the others.

Tigatron just chuckles. "All too often."

Meanwhile....
Bolting across the rocky landscape, the second wave of Maximals had advanced towards the swamps. Airazor, Dinobot and yourself have been doing your best to keep watch on the descending stasis pod as it approaches the lush landscape.

High humidity, thick vegetation with an abundance of rivers of varying deceitful depths, swamps are not what you'd call a premiere travel destination. In fact you and Dinobot have a less than positive memorable experience the last time you traversed one of these places. Thankfully Rhinox was able to lead you all out of there. Still there's an uneasiness in the back of your mind, you cant help but wonder if Dinobot is feeling it was well. Not to say that his usual stoicism would be a tell. That lizard has always had one heck of a poker face.

"We're finally here." Airazor calls out from above. "No clear sign of the pod's landing zone other than its deep within the thick of it."

"Any sign of hostiles?" Dinobot barks as he whips his head back and forth, slowing down his pace.

"In this hot mess, one can only guess." she chuckles. "My money's that they're definitely here." You hear Dinobot give a low growl; contemplating the situation.

"Then we need to hurry." you say. "W-what should we do?"

"Well we could split up, cover more ground that way." Airazor says.

"I don't know..." you add. "Wouldn't that be dangerous?"

"Cheetor has a point. This terrain is prime for a potential ambush." Dinobot adds.

"Well its not going to be an easy route from below either." You assess. "The ground here is tough to navigate, the direct approach isn't exactly an option."

"I could scout ahead, see if I can get eyes on the pod and see if i can find the fastest route." Airazor chimes again. "Nothing to hinder me from up here."

"Except a potential sniper shot from below." Dinobot adds. You remember the last time Airazor came out to help you, Dinobot and Nightracer. Someone had taken a shot at Airazor while she was coming to your aid. Fortunately the shot was wide and missed, but if something did happen here, a rescue mission within a rescue mission would be costly to say the least.

(cont.)

So then Cheetor, what should you three do?

>Make an excuse for you and Airazor to advance together, have Dinobot operate as rearguard

"Hey, um, I've got an idea."

"Spit it out, feline." Dinobot says as he shakes off some mud from a foot that sank a bit deeper than he anticipated.

"Well how about if Airazor and I went on ahead to locate the pod while you act as a rearguard. This way if one of us runs into trouble, you can take the Preds by surprise?"

Dinobot thinks quietly for a moment. "Hmm, an interesting stratagem. Very well. The two of you take point and keep an eye out. The sooner we find our way out of this wretched place the better."

Your ears perk up to his approval. "Hear that Airazor?"

"Copy that. Lets get to it." She says. You look up, watching her partially obscured silhouette flying above the canopy tree line.

Using the mixture of fallen trees and hop scotching across muddy vegetation that sticks out of the water. Airazor's vision manages to keep you from accidentally leaping to a few 'living' logs floating on the water. You're surprised by the teaming amount of life with in this place.

So far, the two of you manage to have covered a lot of ground. No sign of the pod just yet but no sign of Predacons as well.

"So," you break the silence. "See anything up there?"

"Hmm, not so much yet. But I have the feeling we're getting close. From my last estimates, we shouldn't be too much further from the projected landing zone."

>Split up and circle around the suspected landing zone

"Airazor, if we are getting close, we should try circling around the landing zone. Make sure there's no Predacons in the region."

"Hmm," Airazor considers for a moment. "Very well, Cheetor. Lets see if anyone's snooping around."

You head right while she flies left. You take the main land mass thats near the water's edge. Lots of foliage to keep yourself concealed. You allow your animal instincts to take the lead, taking in all that your senses can.

As you move you hear something. Freezing in place, you stay in the shadows, eyes looking every which way. The sounds are faint, like a grunt from a landing or something. Then you see a silhouette of something moving just above. Airazor? No, she went the other way. You creep closer to get abit better visual. You see a black body stalking along the tree line with eight long skinny golden legs.

Blackarachina. And it looks as if she was planning on setting up a trap. Too bad for her, you caught her before she was set up.

But this doesn't bode well for your mission. If Blackarachnia is here where the stasis pod is, why isn't she already at the pod? Maybe luck is on your side, and she is just trying to cover herself before moving in to reprogram it; maybe she thinks she has the time to do so before you and the rest of the Maximals can reach it. Her web net would slow down an unprepared bot. But what if there are others nearby? Maybe she's running defense for someone else.

Whatever the situation, you need to decide what to do soon.

>Attempt to call it in, might risk revealing your presence

>Attempt to sneak past and go for the pod

You begin to attempt to make your move past the distracted Predacon. You think you can make it and make a quick call to the others.

As you make your way beneath the large plants...*snap*...you feel something break under your paw. You freeze and look up.

Blackarachnia stops on a tree limb and starts looking around. She rubs her two front pedipalps as she slowly descends down.

"Hmmm, and here I was expecting a pretty little bird to fly into my web. A shame really."

Oh man, does she know where you are? You were hidden pretty well. Oh well it might be time to transf...

"Come out, come out little Maximal. I wont hurt you....much." She stops just before the ground. She turns around and around again. "Blackarachnia to group. I think we have company."

"This is Tarantulas, Scorponok and I are approaching the pod. Deal with our intruder."

Oh man. Not good, not good. She hasn't made you just yet, but she knows you're here and that means you and the others are near if not on the way. As she continues to stalk the area, you hear an energy blast in the distance. Blackarachina whips around, landing on the ground.

"Megatron to everyone. Enemy fliers inbound, to your positions. Scorponok, get me that protoform now! Let us surprise our guest with a new playmate. Yesssss."

No! Airazor's been spotted and by Mega-geek no less. Things are looking rough.

Blackarachnia knows you're in the area, but she doesn't know where, you still have a bit of the element of surprise. Still the more pressing matter is the pod and by the sounds of it two Predacons are about to get their slimy hands on it. Dinobot's still in the rear of the formation and Airazor might be injured by Megadork. What should you do?!

>Mission takes priority, you need to make some effort to reach the pod

"Cheetor, Maximize." You take this moment of opportunity to transform and draw your blaster and pull the trigger. The shot is right on target and you send Blackarachnia sprawling backwards before she has time to react.

"Cheetor to Dinobot come in."

"This is Dinobot, whats happening up there?"

"Predacons are here, they're closing in on the stasis pod. Airazor might be injured."

"On my way."

"She's on the left side, wide."

Dinobot adds in. "Head for the pod and secure it."

"Might be a problem, sounds like the main force is there."

"Well then engage them. If you cant eliminate them, stall them until Airazor and I get there."

"You got it. Cheetor out." You are about to move out but you stop yourself. "Cheetor to Airazor come in. Are you alright?"

"Ugh, took a hard hit but i'm ok for the moment." You hear a blaster going off in the background. "Not sure how long that'll last though."

"Dinobot's on the way. Do you think you can hold out?"

"Um maybe, but Megatron seems to be real upset. Guess he has a thing against birds."

Oh thats right. Nightracer's encounter with Megatron was...interesting. Perhaps you should help your fine feathered friend. She's not Nightracer but she's gal pals with her and you two have always been a bit close. A bit closer than usual since last mission with the two fembots. But Dinobot says he can get their in time and you might be able to stall the Predacons from reprogramming the Maximal Protoform. If its not already too late. And then there's your current situation. Blackarachnia when flying into the mirk but your not sure if you did enough damage to keep her down. She's not immediately moving and she took a direct hit.

GOTTAGOFAST
>>
>Forward to the pod, full cheetah speed ahead

With the Predacon's alert to your presence, you had to act fast.

"Beast mode."

You transform back into your cheetah mode and bolt out of the area. Moving at such a speed in this kind of area would normally be exceptionally dangerous and difficult to naviagate turns. Between the mysterious water hazards and mishapen tree branches jutting out in every direction, you'd normally be skeptic of your chances. But you have purpose today. You speed throw terrain, using the slippery muddy ground and trees to your advantage.

You find yourself closing in to where you and Airazor had suspected the pod to have landed when you think you see it. But thats not all you see. The two Predacon's you over heard about during Blackarachnia's conversation are approaching the partially mud covered stasis pod. Worst of all, one of them is Tarantulas. You never liked spiders and he's the prime reason why.

"Will you hurry it up, you nitwit. The Maximals are coming." Tarantulas hisses.

"Don't get your software in a snarl. I keep sinking into the mud. This planet is a cesspool."

"Well then pull yourself out!"

"Hey! You dont order me around. I'm second in command! Megatron put me in charge of this mission and order ME to reprogram the Maximal."

"Get out of the way! I'll handle this." Tarantulas makes his way closer to the pod.

"But Megatron said..."

"All that matters is that it ends up a Predacon and not a Maximal."

Tarantulas speeds up past the stuck Scorponok. "Fine, but Megatron will hear about this."

"Quit your whining and keep an eye out."

As you come into the partial clearing, made so by the pod's crash landing, you transform and slide into attack position.

"Not so fast, bugs! Step away from that pod before you both get vaped."

"Scorponok, Terrorize." "Tarantulas, Terrorize!"

"Get lost furball, this pod belongs to Megatron."

"Heeheehee, dont cats ever get tired of being stupid."

The two predacons transform as you draw your blaster. The scorpoion doesnt seem to be as stuck as he was but hes out in the open. Tarantulas is close to the pod and looks to try and use it for cover. Taking a shot at both could be risky, no guarrentte for accuracy and with the pod close by it might endanger it. Shooting one might be safer and cut down on the number of Preds but whichever one you dont shoot, you'll be wide open.

>Take a shot at Scorponok, stuck in the mud might make him an easier mark

He didnt seem to take you as a serious threat, so after he takes a shot at you with his sinsiter laughter, the look of shock on his face is priceless.

"OH NO..." With that you watch the explosion of the blast sends the spider flying backwards.

"Slaggin' Max...Ugh...." Scorponok tries to take aim at you but with his body not fully balanced on the slippy ground, his missiles go wide into the air. Not even close to where you are. Worse for him still, his own shot threw him off balance.

You dont have time to laugh though as Tarantulas grapple missile heads your way. You manage to dodge this shot as well, repositioning yourself.

So far the tide of battle is in your favor, allowing you a free moment to check in on your friends.

"Airazor, Dinobot come in."

"This is Dinobot, what is your situation. I can hear weapon fire in the distance."

"Holding my own and then some, keep running into Predacons. Have you reached Airazor yet?"

"Airazor here, things geting a bit roug--ah!"

"Airazor!" Both Dinobot and you call out.

"Airazor, if you can, get out of there. I'll handle Megatron."

"I'll...see what I can do..."

While you're doing well, your allies seem to be having a rough time, though Dinobot is still fresh and ready for battle, the terrain must be delaying him. From where you're standing you over here the Predacons own coversations.

"Scorponok report."

"Um, Megatron. Tarantulas and i are at the pod, but that accurside feline is preventing us from getting to it."

"UGH, IMBECILE! Must I do everythig myself?! All Predacons, converge on the stasis pod, Now! If you're not, you'd better be off line and if you're not take you off line myself. Ohh Yesss!"

No good. With Megs headed your way, things dont sound good for Airazor. What should you do?

>Secure this location, you can handle these Predacons. Maybe even with just a bit of time to spare before the others get here.

>Secure this location, you've got these Predacons. Maybe even with just a bit of time to spare before the others get here.

You feel an overwhelming ferocity overtaking you as you recharge your blaster. You're here now with the pod and the only thing to do is try to keep it out of Predacon hands. Still a little back up couldn't hurt. You tap into the Maximal listening post frequency to attempt to raise any of the other Maximals; either back at the Axalon or even the other squad to the north. You just hope they get here in time.

"Cheetor to base, sending coordinates to the stasis pod. Need reinforcements."

You hope thats enough as you watch the two Predacon's attempting to recover from your first assault. First, Tarantulas. He's slow to get up, still mostly on the ground but he's had a chance to reload.

"Eat cybervenom, cat!"

The two of you exchange fire. Your blaster shot and his cyber venom bolt missing each other as they head towards you both. With your reflexes, you dodge his shot with ease, avoiding his nasty weapon. Tarantulas, however, desperately trys to get up to avoid your shot but cannot find proper footing in the muddy water. He takes the shot, sending him sliding back into a large tree trunk, knocking him for a loop.

"You wont get me that easily kid!" Scorponok, clicking his claws as he prepares to fire another missile towards you, hoping to catch you off guard.

But you already have your blaster primed and ready, and take a shot at him. Scorps seems to have found some footing though, as he manages to avoid the shot.

"Ha ha! Take this!" He fires his missile, with much better accuracy than before.

But still he's no match for you right now. You're on your game. Using the terrain to your advantage, you slide past the shot, sliding into a better vantange point. This unexpected manuever takes the bug by surprise and you get another shot off, this time hitting your mark. Shellhead goes spiraling back, tripping over a partially submerged log falling tail over head.

"Ultragear!" you say as you reload your blaster.

Still you dont have time to celebrate too long. Megatron is heading this way. What should you do?

You take a look around you and take quick stock of the terrain around you. You can find a few locations that might supply adequate cover

>Use a partial tree trunk of a fallen over tree on the right side, where you came in from originally
>Move closer towards the left side, where Megatron will emerge, partially submerging yourself in water
>Take up post slightly south of where you are now, on a grassy molehill
>Use the pod as cover, any retaliation shot will endanger it but Megatron wouldnt be that careless right?

>Stay where you are, and lying in wait in the mud; roll around in it to make it harder for him to immediately notice you

You hit the ground and start rolling around in the mud. Your hope is to coat yourself with enough to make you difficult to see from the distance. Which could be difficult with your color scheme but you manage to cover the majority of your parts with the copious amounts of mud and not a moment too soon.

You feel the ground shake as Megatron make his way towards your location. You keep an eye out for the direction he's coming from. With the foliage of the trees, it makes getting an accurate shot difficult, but you'll definitely be able to get at least one good shot off. You think back to your lovely owl friend and how she handled him. It seemed to be a quite handy approach though the though of it is a bit painful.

As you look through the treeline a bit more, you think you see him moving in closer. He's in his beast mode. Which the thought now hits you as well. You've been fighting in robot mode for a bit now. Sure you have a bit of time, but will you be able to last in a straight up fire fight with Megatron. You'll need to deal with him quickly.

>Take a shot now, aim for his head

You settle in the mud and take a moment. The large slag spouting sauran continues towards the area. He has no clue your set up and is moving right....where...you want him. With a pull of the trigger you fire aiming at his head. The shot is on target, even with the tree branches in the way.

"UGhhhgh." You see him reel back a step or two as he tries to shake off the hit. You hear him give a low guteral growl. "Maximal filth! You'll be scrap when I'm done with you. Megatron Terrorize."

You are still in the mud lying down, but you have a feeling he has an idea of where you are. To make matters a bit more trying...

"WARNING: ENERGON BUILD UP APPROACHING DANGEROUS LEVELS"

Not good. You need to last a bit longer to deal with Megatron, but if you cant beat him soon, your gonna be in bad shape. Or at the very least last long enough for Dinobot to get here and take over.

>Return to beast mode and try to taunt him into chasing you, clearing him away from the pod

You figure you've got Predacon leader's attention, so now its just at matter of taunting him and you cant think of a better way. You transform into your beast mode, sloshing the mud from your frame all around you.

"Hoot hoot, Mega-jerk. How's the ball bearings?"

He growls as he stares daggers at you. Raising his large dino mouth laser at you, he swings a bit too hard, causing his feet to slide from underneath him. You take advantage of this as you spring away from him.

While Megatron's shot misses you, directly, it hits the ground under you. Causing you to slip and slide in place, your head starts to spin making you dizzy.

"Now, one of you fools, get him!"

Wait, what? You whip your head around to try and figure out who he's talking about when you see Scorponok slowly getting up. He shakes the cobwebs from his own head from the beatin' he took from you earlier and he takes a shot from his claw launcher.

Your legs continue to slip but without getting any traction and the missile connects sending your beast mode flying across the mud and into the water a bit.

"Ou...ch." While its the first damage you've taken all fight, this hit rocked you pretty hard. You're feeling dazed but otherwise functional.

>Try to run past Megatron and group up with Dinobot for a counter offensive. He should be here soon.
>Transform back to robot mode and try to fight again. You wont have much time to do so though, but maybe enough time to take down Scorponok

>Transform and try and take out Megatron. Like you said, Hoot hoot

You breathe heavily and pick yourself up. This are rough, but you've been taking the fight to the Preds this whole time and you're not about to quit now. "Cheetor, Maximize."

"WARNING: ENERGON BUILD UP APPROACHING DANGEROUS LEVELS"

Yeah, you know. But this is important. Time to make your bird girl(s) proud. You draw your blaster and prepare your shot. "Hoot-hoot!"

"What are you waiting for, you fool?! Fire, FIRE!" Megatron shouts towards his second in command. Scorponok nods fearfully and the two Predacons open fire on you.

"You can't catch this cat!" you shout as you pull the trigger of your gun. The gun makes a strange locking sound. Quazar jam! Oh no....not now. Not now.

You look up to see Megatron looking at you with a twisted smile on his face. He shoots his laser while Scorponok does the same with his missile. You do your best to dodge, managing to avoid the missile, but not Megatrons laser which hits you dead on. While its not an incredibly powerful hit that you would expect, the force of the blast sends you flying backwards into some of the treeline.

"Well well, looks like you've ran out of lives, pussy cat. Yeesssss." The Predacon chuckles. "Scorponok, get to work on the pod. We've got a protoform to reprogram."

Having been roughed up this much, the only course of action would be to enter stasis lock. Hopefully the others will get here in time to stop the Predacons but it might be too late for the stasis pod.

What would you guys like to do

>Switch perspective to Dinobot

Leaping from what qualifies as firm ground to ground, you keep up your pace to catch up with Megatron.Your velociraptor mode helps navigate the area with greater ease. Airazor and Cheetor had attempted to cover more ground but they were the ones that got themselves ambushed. Airazor was fortunate to escape in one piece but Cheetor was being reckless charging in head on.

Fortunately, for you, Airazor gave you the information of the pod's whereabouts and if the sounds of blaster fire were any indicator, the feline was giving the Predacon's a go. A part of you cares more about taking the fight to Megatron and his cronies than the stasis pod itself, though you understand strategically importance of gaining another warrior in the war against your former crew.

Blasting past vines, foliage stemming from both ground and the trees, you stalk your way to the battle ground. You see Megatron moving towards the stasis pod with Scorponok already moving to attempt to beginning the activation sequence. You can vaguely see what looks like the cat slumped in the three line. The Preds look worse for wear and you can see Tarantulas taken out a ways from the pod as well. Tough kid, but looks like he couldn't keep up with the situation. You'll need to get him out of here but the pod is still 'in play.' It wont be too long for the two Predacons to reprogram the protoform.

You know what you want to do, but what should you do?

>Transform and engage Megatron
>Transform and take a shot wit your eye beams at Scorponok

>Transform and take a shot with your eye beams at Scoponok

"Dinobot, Maximize!" you transform and draw your spinning sword and shield. You take this opportunity to take aim of Scorponok to prevent him from completing his task. Your battle cry though, alerted both Megatron and Scorponok.

"Well, well if it isn't the the traitor! Scorponok, continue your work. I'll handle him." the purple leader of the Predacons boast.

You fire your eye beams towards Megatron's stooge but miss as Megatron moves in to cause you to veer your head. The beams slam into a tree not too far from Scorponok causing him to flinch but he regains his composure.

"Um, R-R-Right, Lord Megatron." He opens up the pods command panel and begins to proceed.

You attempt to maneuver to get a better shot but the large Rex is barring down on you.

>Take the fight to Megatron with your shield and sword
>Attempt to get pass Megatron and take another shot at Scorponok

>Attempt to get pass Megatron and take another shot at Scorponok

Taking into account the unstable ground you do your best to feint and sweep past your former leader. You fake a lunge to the left and when Megatron side steps in the same direction, you swing past him.

"Eat slag!" You rock back your head and fire another volley of eye beams at the distracted scorpion. Your shot hits him hard, sending him flying back, with a pathetic scream. He smacks into two low hanging branches, each one snapping and sending him flying off to who knows where. Someone gonna be soaking in the restoration chambers for quite some time.

"Worthless fool! Grrrr." Megatron spins around. "You traitorous turncoat!" He swings his tail four arm at you from behind but you have enough combat sense to move your shield arm back and over blocking his assault.

"Optimus to Dinobot and Cheetor. Come in!"

"This is Dinobot. Situation Critical."

"Dont worry, Dinobot I'm almost there and reinforcements are on their way. Just hang in there."

You turn around, giving Megatron a smirk. "Looks like your on your way to the scrapyard Megatron." He emits a low growl but then give you his own smirk.

"I think not."

"Blackarachnia, Terrorize!" You turn to see the she spider transform from up in the treetops. She looks to be in only slightly better shape than Scorponok did before you sent him packing.

"Blackarachnia, focus on the pod! I'll handle the Maximal."

While she draws her grapple gun, she seems to hesitate for a moment, taking in the battle field situation. You'd guess she's debating with either cutting and running, taking the pod or even potentially attacking you.

While she's might be here now, Optimus is going be evening the odds soon.

>Attack the she spider, you can probably take her out with a well placed shot

Blackarachnia looks around and when she takes notice of your eyes, she makes up her mind. She fires her grapple gun to a large tree and swings towards the stasis pod.

You fire your eye lasers at her but she manages to evade them, but barely. You definitely have her on edge.

Megatron, on the other hand, seizes the opportunity to take a few swings at you with his tail again, hoping to set you up for a cross punch from his rex hand. You use the muddy terrain, to slide past his attacks with ease. Megatron roars and grunts with frustration.

"Slippery swine!" He cocks back his arm. You know this move. He's planning to use his concealed missile in his tail arm.

You look past him to see Blackarachnia looking over the stasis pod. While the shell head was able to prepare the pod, he didnt remove the Maximal programming chip that you can tell, let alone start up the scanner.

Times running out

>Attempt another shot on Blackarachnia, will leave you open for megatron's attack
>Stun Megatron with an attack combo, allowing you a easier chance to attack Blackarachnia next attempt
>All out attack on Megatron. Bring him down. Optimus will be here soon!

>Blast megatrons missle the moment he fires it to catch him in the blast radius

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up with that protoform." Megatron yells as he takes aim at you.

"What do you expect? Between shell head and the landing, the pod's a mess." Blackarachnia yells out as she keeps tapping on the console keys.

You prime your eye lasers to counter the insane Predacon leader. He fires his missile. As it leaves the safety of his arm, you fire your beams at the missile. While it is a moving target, you've seen him do this before. Reading his movements, even the slight way he adjust his arm to absorb the recoil of the shot, you anicipate its trajectory and nail it. The missile denotates right infront of Megatron, sending him flying backwards, not unlike the scorpion. You assure your safety by raising your own spinning shield as you watch the saurian backflip in midair...and land on a fallen, partially submerged tree branch, right between the legs.

"UGH...ugh..." Megatron looks stunned and sways from the impact. His tail arm has been mostly demolished, save the partially mangled robotic arm underneath. His secondary weapon has been completely neutralized. You dont think he'll forget that anytime soon.

You chuckle lightly, as you turn your attention over towards the she spider. She's still busy with the pod, but the detination of the missile has draw her attention to the situation. She looks at Megatron, looks at you. Looks back at the pod and looks at you again. She reaches back behind her to grab her weapon. She's has it loaded with cybervenom and is attempting to aim at you while still trying to work on the pod.

"Uh-oh. St-stay back! You shoot at me you could hit the pod!"

>Rush her with sword and shield at the ready

You snarl at her and begin a full sprint towards her. She gasp and fires the cyber venom dart at you. You place the shield in front of you, as the glowing blue bolt heads your direction. Noticing you're not slowing down and her attack will fail, she panics as she desperately makes one last ditch effort to reprogram the protoform.

"Come on. Come on!"

Your snarl becomes a full on roar as you use the rotatory shield to deflect the cyber venom shot away harmlessly. You push forward swinging your sword arm back getting it ready to slice and dice.

Blackarachnia yanks a panel off the control console and reaches inside. You over hear the pod's computer.

"WARNING MAXIMAL PROGRAMMING CHIP REMOVED. PLEASE REINSERT OR APPLY NEW PROGRAMMING CHIP"

You pick up the pace as you watch her put something else inside the pod. Her eyes widen as she sees you coming like a high speed train. "C-computer. Begin seque-"

You swing your sword and slice at Blackarachnia. She attempts to raise her arms up in vain but your sword slices through both and strikes her. She screams as she's forced back crashing not too far off from Tarantulas' KO form. She just utters a groan as she too goes into stasis lock.

"ACCESSING....NEW PROGRAMMING CHIP ACCEPTED. BEGINNING SCANNING SEQUENCE."

By the inferno! You turn to see the DNA SCANNER raise up slowly from the pod.

"SCANNING FOR COMPATIBLE LIFE FORMS"

You have only a few moments to attempt to stop the transformation scanning sequence. If a compatible life form is found before you do, the protoform will emerge a Predacon. There are a few ways to do this and fortunately for you, there's the familiar sound of jet engines getting closer. Optimus has arrived.

>Using your sword, cut the DNA scanner off. This will prevent the stasis pod from being activated out in the wilderness and must be reactivated back at either base.
>Attempt to yank Blackarachnia's reprogramming chip from the console, this will pause the sequence until a new chip (or the old one can be uploaded)

This seems like the best option to me.

It stops everything dead cold and gives us time to fix it properly.

We might not get a Maximal right away, or at all if the scanner can't be repaired, but we damn sure won't get stuck with a new predacon either.

>>
>Using your sword, cut the DNA scanner off. This will prevent the stasis pod from being activated out in the wilderness and must be reactivated back at either base.

You watch as the small arm rises up from the stasis pod, coming to life with its flickering and a wide energy scan begins as the top orb starts to spin, looking for a life sign to determine a suitable species.

"Grraaaagh!" Turning around, gripping your spinning sword, you swing at it.

"SUITABLE LIFE FOR....."

The blade slices through the flimsy arm of the DNA scanner, causing it to spark. The pod's control console begins to spark itself.

"WARNING...WARNING...ER-ERROR DETECTED...."

You catch a glimpse of the screen as it shows a series of creatures scanned flickering rapidly upon the selector.

"DNA SCAN...ANOMALY DETECTED...ATTEMPTING TO BYPASS...."

From overhead you hear the sounds of Optimus' Prime jets approaching. The large black and grey bot has his missile at the ready but upon his quick scan of the scene, he hovers above in place. "Dinobot, what's the situation?! Wait where's Cheetor?"

To add to the chaos, you hear the low groans of Megatron slowly regaining his composure on the ground as he attempts to get back up as the pod continues.

"ATTEMPTING TO BYPASS....."

What do you do?

>Attempt to hack the pods computers; maybe you can fix it?
>Deal with Megatron as the pod attempts to correct the error
>Have Optimus attack Megatron while you look for the Maximal reprogramming chip, if you can swap the two out, even with the anomaly, you could make the Protoform a Maximal again (difficult DC due to search)

Ahhhh, we can do this!

Hmm, thread was bouncin' yesterday, wonder what happened?

I can dig it
>>
There we go, now the party's startin'.
>>
Rolled 82 (1d100)

rolling optimus' attack (DC 50 to hit with missile)

For search roll it'll be a straight 1d100
alright i wont give a penalty but the DC will be higher as aforementioned
DC 75

Curious, do you guys want me to start announcing DCs (like this roll) or would you prefer me to keep it hidden like it has been. I've asked this before but i just want to see if the mood has changed at all
>>
Rolled 15 (1d100)

>>2287297

dice gods plz
>>
Rolled 75 (1d100)

>>2287297
Keep it hidden, adds suspense.
>>
>>2287301

the savior
>>
Rolled 87 (1d100)

alright, since no other rolls to keep track of.

i'll be rolling to see if the pod bypasses the error on its own

Give me one more roll now to see if you can hack the stasis pod. (removing the Predacon chip and returning the Maximal chip)

1d100+-5 (minor penalty due to dinobot being less tech savvy)
>>
>>2287301

Dead on!

>>
mmmk writing.
>>
>>2287343

Why.

Just, why?

>>2287348

We still might be able to get him, Dinobot was a predacon after all.

And if we can't have him then we scrap him here and now with a sword through the spark chamber.
>>
>>2287351
>>2287348

Yesss. It's all going to plan. Yes.
>>

Megatron you fiend!
>>
Rolled 75 (1d100)

>>2287349
is it too late to try to damage the control pad to stop the process?
also, hi
>>
Why didn't anyone rip out the predicon chip?
>>
>>2287407

Because we want the protoform to be a predacon. Yes.
>>
>>2287407

We figured the damn thing would turn off and give us time to do it right.

Instead we underestimated Glorious Maximal Engineering.

>Have Optimus attack Megatron while you look for the Maximal reprogramming chip, if you can swap the two out, even with the anomaly, you could make the Protofrom a Maximal again

"Optimus, take out Megatron while I handle the pod."

Megatron looks over his shoulder with a growl only for it to turn into a look of panic as Optimus launches one of his shoulder rockets at him.

"Noooo!" The rocket hits dead on sending the Predacon commander sliding into some thorn bushes. "Ughggh"

Meanwhile you look around the mud for where the Maximal programming chip could've gone to. You know you sliced it free from the she spider's grip when she was attempting to reprogramming the protoform. It couldnt have gotten far.

As you look around you can hear the sounds of the pod. Times running out. In a fit of rage you punch the ground, causing some of the mud and water to splash up, revealing the chip. You don't bother saying anything, just pick it up and make your way back to the pod. But the console begins to come to life.

"ANOMALY BYPASS COMPLETED. BEGINNING REPLICATION AND ACTIVATION."

No! Its too late! Whatever emerges now from the stasis pod will become a Predacon!

>Begin Activation Sequence (Preset character chosen)
>Begin Activation Sequence (Random rolls from players for character creation)
>Begin Activation Sequence (Random rolls by QM for character creation)

Also, due to the anomaly that happened I'd like some input
>Just one beast mode
>Fuzor (two beast fusion i.e Silverbolt, Quickstrike)

As for beast mode options
>Stick to more Predacon style options (reptiles, amphibians, insects, etc)
>Have some Maximal style options (mammals, avians) will make the selection 50/50
>All options avail
>>
>>2287425

>Begin Activation Sequence (Random rolls from players for character creation)

>Fuzor (two beast fusion i.e Silverbolt, Quickstrike)

>All options avail

We'll let's see what the hell this thing is going to be.

With any luck we can reason with it with all the other Preds down for the count.

Venomiss

and make her sound like this:

No, she needs a french twinge to her accent.
>>
>>2288389

No, no Widowmaker.

This is a proper Southern Belle. Haughty, Genteel, Condescending, and Sultry
>>
>>2289338

Not widowmaker, no; I'm thinking more a darker version of Curie from Fallout 4.
