You’re inside one of the examination rooms in the clinic with Calamity, Osgood and the kid you just beat. He already took his mask off in an underwhelming fashion, no respect for his heritage! Honestly, you don’t even know if his ancestors were wrestlers, or if he was taking the 'honor' thing seriously. Uccelli and Amelia are waiting outside in the meantime.

“…You should take it easy for the next week or two depending on how you feel, but otherwise you should be fine, boy.” Calamity ends wrapping up the ex-luchador with bandages on his waist. Thank god he didn’t break anything, and that you didn't break anything!
“Thanks doc.” The ex-luchador puts his shirt back on.
“It’s nothing, really, haHAHaHAHHaA.” Calamity laughs. The kid nods, but you can tell he’s a little weirded out by Calamity's signature laugh.

“Does he work for free?” Osgood whispers to you furtively. Knowing how Osgood is with money-related issues, on top of you living in a dictatorship, you can understand why he would be worried.
“I think he calls everyone’s insurance.” There's no other way to explain it. He probably has to look at the IDs of all his unconscious patients to find out their insurance, though. This would seem sketchy, but Calamity hasn't let you down yet!
“…Damn.” Osgood stares at his broken arm silently, then looks back at you. “Anyway, what are we going to do with him? He doesn’t seem like a bad kid.”
“Yeah, he’s kind of reckless though.”
“He's going to get someone or himself hurt if he tries anything again… But hey, better than all the sickos we've dealt with so far.” Osgood replies flippantly, shrugging off his worries.

“So what now?” The pretend-hero asks as he checks his bandages, looking a lot better than he did before.
“Were you hearing us?” Osgood asks, curious.
“No.”

Yeah, what are you going to do with him now?

>Take his flame! He’s a danger to himself and to others. Even though he has good intentions, his methods are too reckless to benefit anyone for too long.
>A new recruit wouldn’t be bad! You can keep an eye on him so he doesn’t do anything reckless, but he'll take some getting used to.
>Well, there's a reason you have a team! Ask the others what they think you should do with the ex-luchador. Always good to have second opinions on things.

Votes:

Votes are counted until 20 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 10 minutes have passed.

Dice Mechanic:

I use the average (the mean) of the 3 best rolls and success will be determined by the difficulty I specify for the action or prompt. If there are less than 3 rolls I’ll do the math with the ones I have.
Above 50 is a success on a normal roll. Above 60 is a success on a hard roll. The hardest rolls I won’t specify because I find it more fun if I don’t.
We will roll after the voting is done.

Well, there's a reason you have a team! Asking the others what they think you should do with the ex-luchador is a good option. Always good to have second opinions on things.

“Hmm… I think we need to do a team talk. Could you wait for us here?” You tell your would-be 'victim'. He turns around and sees Calamity, who waves creepily.
“…Make it quick, please.” He asks, turning to you with a few drops of sweat on his face, and looking a little desperate.

Outside in the waiting room, Amelia and Uccelli were chatting and waiting for the two of you. They look somewhat surprised the ex-luchador isn’t with you.

“Where is he?” Uccelli asks, getting out of her seat.
“Inside; and don’t worry , he’s not a bad kid.” Osgood puts his hand on the fire for him!
“Anyone who picks a fight with any of us can’t be any good.” Amelia is determined to get rid of him, scowling.
“Don’t say that! Honestly, I’m more of the bad guy here in this situation.” It’s a first, too! It’s not exactly that you were the bad guy, per se. You just happened to be the lesser evil, compared to the luchador beating up innocent people.
“Looks like someone's already made up her mind…” Osgood says with clear disdain. Osgood doesn’t think highly of Amelia’s aggressive behavior towards the masked lad.
“We need to decide what to do with him. We can take his partner away or maybe we could recruit him.”
“Recruit him?” Amelia's eyes go wide in confusion! “He wanted to beat you up! What the hell, Johnny?!”
“Amelia, we’re at a point where I highly doubt we’re going to encounter someone with a flame, and have a civil discussion immediately. The kid, from everyone we've seen so far, seems genuinely the friendliest.” Osgood tells your sister while folding his arms.
“Fighting random people on the streets doesn’t seem like friendly behavior to me.” Amelia reminds the team of the masked man’s misadventures.
“The biggest issue here is that he’s a troublemaker, and we like keeping our profiles low. It's how we've gone unnoticed this whole time, compared to the other flame users." You remember that the terrorists' files mentioned few flame users still around this late in this stage. Now that you think about it, how did they all get taken out so quickly? Were they just stupid? Uncoordinated? Alone? Either way, you decide to leave that line of thinking to later…

“Well, unless someone brings up a new point, I think we’re ready to vote.” Uccelli puts everyone on the same page again, snapping Osgood and Amelia out of it. “The only options are taking his flame or letting him join, correct?”
“Yep.”

“It’s pretty clear what you two are going to vote for.” Uccelli stares hard at Osgood and Amelia. They stare back at her, flinching a little at first.
“Without any personal bias, I think this is the best move.” Osgood says evenly. “I vote for him to join. Besides, we can always kick him out if he starts misbehaving.”
“I vote no! He’s not worth the trouble he's going to cause us!” Amelia replies without hesitating, face set in determined anger.
“I had my doubts, but with what Osgood said, I think I wouldn’t mind him joining. Besides, he has his heart in the right place, no?” Uccelli says, trying to sound cheerful.

It’s two to one, and everyone’s eagerly looking to you for your answer. You don’t even know if he’s willing to join yet, but everything still depends on you.

“Yeah, I think so too. He should join us, but only on the basis that he stops picking fights with random people before he gets someone killed…”
“I agree.” Uccelli nods.
“…And buy us ice cream.”
“Even better.” Now Osgood is nodding with a smirk on his face.
“…I'll let this one pass, but only because I like ice cream.” Amelia fumes away back to her seat.

You call the hombre enmascarado here, and he's no longer masked! He seems relieved to leave the room with Calamity inside. Uccelli seems surprised for a second, but quickly regains her composure. You stare at her wondering what’s going on, but she quickly dismisses you with her hand.

“…Are you guys going to get rid of me?” He asks before anyone could say anything.
“No, we want you to join us.” Osgood replies, shooting him a thumbs up.
“W-what?!” His eyes open wide as he almost loses his balance in shock.
“Easy there…” Uccelli says, smiling.
“I’m fine, but what?!” He’s still bewildered. “You guys seriously confuse me.”
“It’s quite simple, really: you seem like a good guy and the more the merrier, right?” Osgood explains.
“There are three catches though…” You interrupt Osgood, and look right at the ex-luchador's face.
“Which are?” He looks excited, like a man finally given some rope.
“The most important one is that you promise to not get yourself in trouble. We don’t want blood on our hands.”
“That’s doable. What’s the other two?”
“Get everyone ice cream.”
“Is that really important?” His expression falls into one of disbelief, eyebrow raised.
“Yes.”
“…But I don’t have that much money.”
“Then I guess I’ll have to finish the job.” Amelia cracks her knuckles as she starts slow-walking up to the guy, menacingly.
“C-chill, I could use some of my savings! And the last one?”
“Yeah… What is the last one?” Osgood just realizes you added something no one thought about. He turns to you, looking just as confused as the guy was before.
“Get a new mask and change your gimmick.” You don’t like his style. Something about it doesn't seem like it fits.
“What’s wrong with this?” He pulls out his mask from one of his pockets and looks at it.
“Everything.” You respond bluntly, putting your hand on his shoulder.
“Fine. I don’t like wearing this stupid mask anyway.” He puts it back inside his pocket. “I don’t even like wrestling to begin with. I just had it with me when I was doing a delivery, and I stuck with it.”
“Delivery?” Osgood asks. He looks briefly at the exit door as he asks this, maybe thinking back to his van?
“I’ll tell you later, it’s not really important right now.”

“So what do you say? You in?” You ask in the name of the group, holding a hand out to him.
“Maaan, you guys need to tell me more about what your deal is! You guys being cryptic isn’t even the tip of the iceberg; I have no idea what’s going on! Are you the goodies?”
“Yeah, no baddies here.” Amelia replies immediately, folding her arms in a cute but stern pose.
“Well, there's more than that…” Osgood explains very briefly what your stance on the whole issue is, without giving too much information away.
“I see… You seem like the chillest group out there, compared to what I know.” He puts his hands behind his head, relaxing.
“Are there more groups you know?” Uccelli is interested.
“Ehm… You've probably heard about them, right? The government, the cult, the terrorists, and whatever the white flames’ group is. Never crossed my mind a small team like this could exist for this long.”

“So… You in?” Osgood extends his hand alongside yours.
“We’re serious about our demands though.” You say as you pull back behind Osgood, almost whispering in a low voice.
“Yeah, sure, but I’m not sure if I can pay for ice cream right away…” He shakes hands with Osgood, nodding. “So this is the moment you guys tell me your names: I’m Henry, nice to meet you all.”
“I’m Osgood, nice to meet you too. Sorry about the rough introduction.” He takes his scarf off and wipes the sweat on his neck with it.
“I’m Amelia, p-please don’t get into a fight!” Amelia took her mask off as well, and she looks flustered despite being ready to kick ass not even a minute ago.
“I’m Johnny. You've probably heard Trent yelling my name already.” You wave idly back.
“Mr. Collins, I’m so incredibly disappointed in you.” That’s Uccelli’s teacher voice… Uh-oh. She’s slowly taking her mask off.
“W-w-w-wait! That voice…!” Henry puts two and two together, and looks on in horror…
Now you're getting into street fights? Everything we worked on so far, and you just threw it all away?” Uccelli looks beyond disappointed, almost bored!
“I-i-it’s the old ha— I mean, Miss Uccelli! What the hell?!” HER HAIR IS FUCKING HUGE, HOW THE FUCK DIDN’T HE REALIZE WHO SHE WAS!? Wait… he’s going to your school? How did you never notice!? He has a flame on his face for fuck's sake!

This was supposed to be a happier moment than this, or at least not as awkward. So what now?

>“Can you two leave it to Monday? It’s ice cream time.” AWW YEAH, VICTORY ICE CREAM!!!

What was that first part, you fucking punk?” You glare at him, previous good mood dashed. Now you’re getting mad here! “The old what now?
“S-s-sorry, force of habit — No, wait, what I was trying to say… I… Fuck…” Henry tries earnestly to stop fucking it up, but he just digs himself deeper.
“It’s okay Mr. Ando, I’m already used to it.” Uccelli looks gloomy about that part of his comment, but you can tell that’s not her main concern. You mentally check yourself; losing your cool at something this small isn't very good. “And Mr. Collins, how many times do I need to tell you to watch your language around others?”
“I mean, it’s not that important… But sorry, I made a mistake, but –“
Mr. Collins, you should be in detention right now…” Uccelli is looking more and more disappointed.
“I…”

“Maybe you two need some time to talk.” You barely know him, but you don’t want everyone to have a bad impression of him. You did just kick his ass hard enough to gain him as an ally, and having people watch him get chewed out by Uccelli would just drag his spirit on the ground even more – he doesn't deserve that. “We should go.”
“Yeah, you’re right.” Osgood sighs and prepares to leave the clinic. “Don’t be so harsh on him.” He calls out to Uccelli before leaving out the door.
“I don’t know you, but from now on you'll be part of the team. I hope you can turn the page and leave this all behind you… I did the same not too long ago, so I know what it's like. Good luck!” Amelia skips out of the room after giving a short but heartfelt comment. It's at times like these you feel you did at least some good as a big brother.

“I’m going to take my time with him. Wait for us at your apartment; I do want to eat ice cream after all.” Uccelli says as she thoroughly thinks about what she’s going to say to her nefarious student - but not before winking at you!
“You’ll be fine. She’s a nice lady.” You tell the ex-luchador, who regrets every decision he ever took today.

You are outside the clinic with Osgood and Amelia now. The situation got so awkward that passing time with Constance is out of the question, until the two of them finish their talk. At least you said hi to her (off-camera) before getting into this mess.

“You know, he really could be trouble…” Osgood says in deep thought, now doubting his decision.
“Come on, you're the one who just told Uccelli not to be too harsh. If we keep an eye on him – he will definitely change.” You say with optimism in your voice. You try to keep yourself from feeling what you're saying, but you still feel it a little inside.
“What now? I don’t think we'll get ice cream anytime soon...” Amelia says with clear disappointment.
>>

Yeah, what now?

>Go to your apartment. Time to relax with these two! Or three if you count Nariko. It'll also help Osgood and Nariko bond together, since they haven't talked or did much together to begin with.
>Go buy ice cream for everyone with the team, then go back to your apartment. You were all promised ice cream, and it's your job as team leader to finish the job!

Making ice cream from scratch is such a pain, unless you've got the ice and bucket set up already it's not really worth it.
>>
I get where Amelia is coming from saying he is going to cause trouble, but what member of this group (or any of our dear author's stories for that matter) doesn't do dumb shit all too often. With all the talk of the field thinning and the lines between the factions becoming harsher and more insistent a feel like things are heating up and we need all the help we can get.

“Nah, let’s get some ice cream right now. I'm buying.” You were all promised ice cream and you’re going to get it! You surreptitiously check your wallet… You have 73 Gor$, that should be more than enough!
“Yaaaaay~!” Amelia starts bouncing around. It feels weird for you to see her this enthusiastic, since she barely reacted to anything before. She was always so plain and dull, and never said or did much of anything out of fear of her father. You feel glad that she's not like that anymore – if the war had never started, Amelia would…
You dispel those grim what-ifs from your thoughts. She's happy now and that's what matters, doesn't it?
“I would prefer a cup of coffee to be honest.” Osgood scratches the back of his head.
“You’re so boring.” Amelia replies deadpan, then she goes towards the van.
“W-where did that come from…?” Osgood seems a little shocked. You shrug in sympathy.
“Hurry up!” Amelia waves at you two excitedly from outside the van.

And so, the team went for ice cream! Everyone bought their own ice cream, with the intention of making Henry pay them back later. Since you decided to bite the bullet, you bought boxed portions for Uccelli, Nariko, and your new team member. Don’t forget to ask for your money back! Now that you’re back at home, you put the extra portions in the freezer, just in time to stop them from starting to melt!

“I’ll bring the plates…” Nariko says in her usual monotone. She’s wearing your apron and looks serious.
“Why?” Amelia wonders aloud.
“We eat at the table.” Nariko says plainly.
“They're ice cream bars, that won’t be necessary.” You reply to her. If this was bowl ice-cream, then yeah…
“Oh…” Nariko looks sad; maybe she was trying to be useful. At least she’s trying to take the initiative. Finding out about her past must have motivated her to be better.
“Don’t worry, it’s fine! Maybe some napkins would be good to have though.” Amelia tries to make Nariko feel useful. It works!
“Alright.” She looks slightly happier as she goes inside the kitchen.

“This is pretty relaxing.” Osgood says as he takes a sip of his soda, being the only one who didn’t buy ice cream. “You know, while we're here, this is the perfect opportunity to discuss Bradford.”
“The fatso?"
“Yeah, he keeps insisting on joining us.”
“Not trying to be mean, but what good does having him on the team do?" You barely make out what Amelia said from her mouthful of ice cream bar.
“His ability. I think there's more to it than just being able to take pictures. It can't be that simple if it's that's special.” Osgood shakes his head as he says this, looking at his can of soda.
“Why is that?” You ask, taking a bite of your own ice cream.
“He was able to use the camera with the shockwave thing going on, even though everything else was shut down.” Osgood explains. Wait, he's right! “Honestly, I can convince him to be a consultant of sorts, like gathering us intel or something… He’s a pretty obsessive guy, so he'll probably be willing to help any way he can.”
“That’s probably the best we can get out of him.”
“What do you say? Uccelli's not here, but she’s pretty ambivalent about the issue.” Osgood says. “I know Amelia is against it.” He points at Amelia with his ice cream bar.
“I like the scout idea…”Amelia says as she devours her dessert, or what's left of it.

Having Bradford on the team could be useful, and he didn’t seem like a real hindrance. But do you really want him on the team?

>Give him just a lesser role, without having him be a full member! Intel gathering is important, especially due to the other enemy sides remaining. With all the events going on in the nation, he wouldn't look too out-of-place as an amateur journalist either.

“I don’t mind him becoming a full member, the number of participants are dwindling and he’s better than nothing…” You didn’t make it sound reassuring, but hopefully the point is understood.
“O.K.” Amelia replies with not much confidence, but she’s not totally against the idea.
“Alright, I’ll give him a call later. I don’t want to ruin this peaceful moment.” Osgood says.
“Here are the napkins.” Nariko is back from the kitchen with a handful.
“Thanks…” Osgood takes one for some reason, and keeps staring at Nariko, who starts getting uncomfortable. You and Amelia grab one too. Amelia really needed one after savaging that ice cream; Scarlet would be proud.

“Does anyone need some help…? I can help…” Nariko asks the group. Osgood and Amelia stare at each other, mildly confused for a second.
“We’re fine, you can relax on the couch." You smile at Nariko.
“Mhm…” Nariko feels joy after doing her non-existent job, even though her expression and voice haven't changed at all.

After a while, Uccelli and Henry finally arrive! Poor ex-luchador, he really does seem like he got a beating, and it wasn’t yours… and it was verbally! After giving them their ice cream bars, you had somewhat of a team meeting where you put everyone on the same page – this would be the recap chapter of a TV series, but thank god this isn’t one. The sun is starting to set now…

“So we’re searching for her memories right?” Henry points to Nariko, who hides under her beanie. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” He smiles sheepishly.
“Yeah, more or less. We’re just gathering information and keeping a low profile – the solstice or whatever is when everything is going to get crazy.” Osgood replies. Looks like he's taken a shine to the new guy.
“It’s not like you’re going to be of much help, now that you’re going to spend a hefty time in detention.” Uccelli is not pleased with the new member.
“Yeah… I know.” Henry says with resigned acceptance of his fate.
“Again, don’t be too harsh to him.” Osgood reminds Uccelli that there are more important things here to worry about.
“I know.” Uccelli harshly answers, snapping at Osgood. Osgood looks apprehensive for a moment.
“W-well, look at the time, it’s getting late – if anyone needs a ride home, I’ll be happy to help… for a fee. I need money for gas, you know?” Osgood says as he checks his phone’s clock.
“I’ll take the offer; I’m not exactly sure where I am now.” Henry replies as he stretches casually. He looks around, checking your house from his seat. You still don't know where he lives, but maybe you'll find out later.
“Guess I’ll go back home too.” Amelia leaps out of the couch, and stretches. “Tomorrow we'll play together, Nariko!”
“Mhm!” Nariko seems excited, finally smiling.

>Study! Just because you got in the top ten at school, doesn't mean you can't work ahead! More work now, means less work later!
>Train! Just because you kicked a lot of ass this week, doesn't mean you can slack off on GAINS! Talk shit, get /fit/!
>Relax and watch the news! Who knows if there's anything important on? You can practice with Philonune's powers further while you're at it!
>Go outside! It's not quite dark yet, and it's starting to cool down. Perfect for a walk!

Just because you kicked a lot of ass this week, doesn't mean you can slack off on GAINS! Time to train! You have your eyes set on an objective!

“You sure you don’t want to go with us?” Osgood asks Uccelli.
“Y-yes, I’m going to hang out with my friend later, and I told her I’d be in this area.” Uccelli replies, almost nervously. Probably a lie…
“I didn’t know you were the party type, Ms. Uccelli.” Henry quips.
“She’s my childhood friend. It’s not like that at all.” Uccelli seems rather confused by his comment.
“Oh… M-my bad. What are we waiting for? Shouldn’t we be moving?” He wants to leave the awkwardness behind; you’re not exactly sure what was so bad about what he said.
“Bye Johnny, I’ll see you tomorrow!” Amelia leaves. Then with Osgood and Henry, you wave everyone off…

You’re left with Nariko and Uccelli. You have a mission in mind and you're gonna go for it.

“That was a lie, right?”
“I-I’m that bad at lying?” Uccelli says, almost ashamed of herself.
“Not really, I just know you.” A lie of your own, she’s as terrible as her disguises. But you still like her for it.
“Then you should know how tired I am right now…” She plummets on your couch once again. “Sneaking around isn’t as easy as you think…” She fans herself idly with her hand.
“I know, I've done my fair share.” Yeah, and in more stressful situations too.
“So what are you planning to do now…?” Nina wants to hang out.
“Exercise.”
“Aw… I can’t join, my body still feels sore from last time!” She laments in an overly dramatic voice. “I guess I’ll prepare dinner.”
“No, Johnny will.” Nariko intervenes!
“It’s okay! Uccelli made a promise after all.” You calm down Nariko. “Believe in her.”
“...okay.” Nariko resigns herself to her fate.
Since Nariko wanted to feel useful, she ended helping you exercise… She kept track of everything and cheered you on. After a nice training session, you gained 2 Athletics points! You feel like you’re getting closer to the next step of power! Maybe training at the gym yields more results, but who cares? You’re still walking the path of /fit/ness!
>>
>>2272421

After your short training, dinner is ready! And it’s marvelous, Uccelli really tried this time!

“So…?” A confident Uccelli asks Nariko, grinning.
“It’s okay, I guess.” The ungrateful Nariko replies, her frown unchanging.
“W-w-what did I do wrong?!” Uccelli is shocked, her face faulting straight to an expression of extreme dismay.
“It just doesn’t taste as good as Johnny’s food.”
“I disagree; I think this is miles better.” You are enjoying yourself, at least.
“…It’s okay. Next time for sure, I’m going to make you like it!” Uccelli’s conviction is back! And that phrase doesn’t sound good at all!
“…I’m sorry, I don’t really want to dislike it.” Nariko replies, relieving the tension in the room.
“Look at the time, I told Carmella I was going to give her some company today… I’m leaving, can you come with me and maybe the two of us can… you know?” Nina winks, leaving Nariko confused.
Anyway, it’s probably only going to be a secret goodbye kiss and that would all of her for the day. Tomorrow you have plans, but it’s never too late to change them…
What do you do tomorrow?

>Amelia is going to take Nariko out tomorrow, leaving the house empty except for you. Maybe you could take the time to 'hang out' with your girlfriend privately, like she's been looking forward to. :^)
>You promised Terry to help him deal with Scarlet. She’s skipping school even more now, and things could get serious in the meantime. Or maybe things won't change, who knows?
>You can go with Amelia and Nariko to the museum! Hanging out with Nariko earlier than she expected, should cheer her up a lot more! But why the museum, of all places…?
>Maybe you could hang out with Henry, get to know him better or something. Taking him to the very same gym where you trained to fight him would be ironically fitting, like a 'closed circle' kind of thing.

You feel like you forgot something important. Oh yeah! You forgot to ask Henry your money back! That’s probably why he wanted to escape your house! Damn him…!
Wait, you promised to help Terry help Scarlet help herself so she can pose nude! Or help her with whatever her problem is. You should contact Terry and confirm the aid! During a brief call, you two arrange everything to go to Scarlet’s home. He will wait for you at a station near her house. You have a bad feeling about this, but you fall asleep easily enough…

It’s a regular Saturday morning. With an eerie feeling in the back of your mind, and with Nariko already delivered to Amelia, you’re ready to deal with Scarlet… It’s almost 12:00 noon, and you’re getting closer to the meeting point with Terry. You’re in the eastern district of the city, where the school is – but you’re not even close to it where you are now. There's a few shops and food places around, mostly apartments and regular houses. Oh yeah, and that one amusement park is like five or fix blocks from here! You still remember how you worried about Amelia when you heard about the explosion… but this no time to be thinking about that!

“Hey, Johnny. Thanks for doing this, I know Scarlet will be grateful too.” Terry catches up with you once you get to the meeting spot. He’s not wearing anything special but his backpack seems full.
“Hey Terry, what’s in the bag?”
“This…? You don’t need to worry about this now. I’ll tell you later if things start to go rough. Think of it as… like a surprise of sorts.” He calmly explains, a ghost of a smile on his face.
“I don’t like how that sounds.” But you're not laughing.
“I understand you’re skeptical, but we’re dealing with Scarlet here.”
“What do you mean?” I mean, didn’t you see her at her worst? Or that wasn’t her worst?
“Trust me. If we need to use what’s inside, I’ll tell you way beforehand. But it’s nothing weird.”
“You’re making it sound weird.”
“I guess I am, haha.” He’s way too chill for this! “I already contacted Scarlet’s parents, they aren't going to be here today. I guess they took the opportunity to hang out with my parents. I do have their house keys.” He shows them to you, not looking smug but assured.
“That sounds a bit irresponsible.” You’re downplaying it, but do they even care?
“Can’t blame 'em. It’s only another big tantrum from her; you know how much she likes attention. Besides, I’m glad they trust me enough to deal with this on my own.” You feel like the Scarlet you know and what Terry knows are two completely different people.
“I feel like we’re dealing with a wild animal than the Scarlet I know.” You’re being honest here. Terry needs to know this.
“Well then, let’s tame the beast!” He jokes around while you glare at him. It seems to work. “Sorry, that was a little mean.”

Terry is not making a big fuss about this – so it should be fine, right?

>“So how does this usually go?” If what Terry said is any indication, this isn't the first time Scarlet has done something like this. Having some idea of what to expect might help you to figure out a solution…
>“Let’s tame her!” You can take care of the important questions when you get there. Right now, you gotta focus on the task at hand. Scarlet needs this support, like it or not.
>“Can’t you just tell her the bet is off, or something?” Why make all this ruckus, if the reason she's throwing this tantrum is because of the stupid bet? Is there more going on here than what you're being told?

“Can’t you just tell her the bet is off, or something?” Why make all this ruckus, if the reason she's throwing this tantrum is because of the stupid bet? Is there more going on here than what you're being told?
“But I won, fair and square.” He gets extremely serious, almost like someone possessed him!
“Who cares? Wasn’t the whole point of the bet to make Scarlet study? It worked, and she didn’t even do that badly.” She did her best! Like what you've been doing this whole time!
“She constantly does this, and we shouldn’t fuel her anymore. But if the situation really calls for it, I'll give up my end of the deal.” He shows you his palms, like showing he has nothing. His previous irritation is gone. “Follow me, her home is not far away from here.”

Her home was so far away from the station, it took you almost an hour to arrive. You guess Terry is used to long walks or something. God damn it! There is even a bus stop nearby! This was a complete waste of time, and you have the strangest feeling Terry knows it. Compared to the rest of the houses nearby, Scarlet’s looks fancier than all of them, but it’s not enormous or anything like that; they got their money’s worth for it, so to speak.

“Like I told you, she shut herself in her room, so the rest of the house is in the clear.”
“In the clear…?” Did Scarlet really become a wild beast? How bad did this get in almost a week?
“Yeah, I mean, Scarlet is not known for keeping her room tidy.” Terry clarifies the point.

You two walk inside Scarlet’s house, being somewhat fancy but not terribly out of this world. Looks like Scarlet's family are well off, but they like to keep things simple. You can agree with that: you still get money from Stan overseas, but your apartment is the same as ever, just the way you always knew.

“Scarlet’s room is upstairs.” Terry already heads up the stairs as he says this.
“Alright…” You're not trespassing, but it sure feels like it with how empty it is.

Well, you’re in front of Scarlet’s room, with a little sign that has her name written on the wooden door – it’s cute, like something Amelia would have if her dad would let her. Terry knocks on the door.
“Scarlet? Are you in there?” He asks very politely and evenly.
“AAAAAH—! Don’t come near me you pervert! PERVERT!” You can hear her furniture being moved to the front, barricading herself. You weren't expecting this!
“I’m fine, thanks…” Terry responds in the same voice, as if he's having a casual conversation, and Scarlet isn't having what you feel is a very serious breakdown.
“Leave me alone! You’re not taking me with you! NO—!”

You can hear her start crying loudly…

What do you say?

>“Police, open up.” Try to mimic an adult voice, put effort into sounding like an authority figure.
>“Scarlet, are you okay? It’s me, Johnny… Do you want to talk?” Take this gently. You're not that good at calming people down, in your opinion, but you're the third party here.
>Do your best Terry impression and say “C’mon, I wanna see that booty!” You have no idea if this will work or not, but the bet went through fairly from what you know. She's probably just overreacting…
>“Hey Scarlet, can I come in? Just me.” If Terry even tries to go in alone or with you, you feel something seriously bad could happen. Scarlet trusts you enough to hear you out, especially after the ice cream parlor event, right?

“Hey Scarlet, can I come in? Just me.” You say loudly enough it can get through her crying.
“Wait (sniff), who is that?” Scarlet stops crying.
“Ehm… It’s me, Johnny.” You reply, somewhat embarassed.
“Terry! That’s not funny! Stop pretending to be Johnny…! Nice impression though.” She didn’t buy it.
“Scarlet, that’s really Johnny.” Terry says in his assured monotone.
THE Johnny???"
“Yes…” You reply, unsure if the answer is going to be good enough.
“AAAAAAH!” She screams very suddenly, making your ear ache a little.
“Please, calm down!” Terry screams back, making this the first time you have seen and heard him raise his voice.
“…” Scarlet stays silent for a second. “Sorry… But why are you here? Is this another one of Terry’s schemes to keep humiliating me?”

You turn to Terry, who quickly and nervously denies her accusations with his hands. You raise an eyebrow at this, pulling out your glare again.
“It’s not like that, really.” Terry whispers nervously. He seems to be telling the truth, but you don't know that for certain.

You turn back away from Terry towards Scarlet's door. “I’m here because I was worried about you.” You reply to the mess of a woman that is your friend. “Can I come in now?”
“N-no, no one should see me like this!” Scarlet denies your request vehemently, but she's stopped crying.
“C’mon, it’s not a big deal.” Terry tries to cool off the situation.
“Under several conditions!” Scarlet barks back. You hear her dismantling her barricade, then she slightly opens her door, enough to see the both of you – There is a door lock impeding you from just getting inside… She has a blanket on, so you can’t really make out what she looks like now.

“Which are…?” Terry's bored sigh already tells you he knows where this is going.
“…Terry must leave the house first. I don’t want him anywhere near here! I-It’s for my own protection!” Scarlet nervously replies. “A-and I want you to pwomise to not tell anyone about this! And thewe is ice cweam in the fweezer; you must bwing it with you! It’s impowtant!”
“Scarlet, your lisp…” Terry says, pointing at Scarlet.
“S-s-shit!” She closes the door. “S-shut up! Those are my conditions!” She regains her composure where you can't see her.

Terry stares at you with ‘do what you need to do’ kind of face. Any doubts you've had about this being serious is out of the window now…

What do you do?

>“Bet is off, you can relax now.” Stop wasting time with this charade. If you knew this bet was going to end up this way, you would've tried to stop them yourself.
>“Alright…” Hooray, more ice cream… You'll do your best to not get sick or vomit from this.
>“No. We’re taking the door down if you don’t open it; you need to stop acting this way.” Use force! That’s what Trent would do… along with giving you a thumbs up!

“Okay, I'll do whatever you want.” You say as clear as you could.
“H-hooray…” She feigns enthusiasm. A part of you thinks she would have preferred if you didn’t, but too bad!

“So I’ll stay outside?” Terry whispers. You can't read his face too well.
“Just real quick."
“I’ll leave the bag here… You'll know when to use it.” He places the bag on the floor, by Scarlet's door. You don’t know when to use it, though!
“Ehm…”
“You'll see. Nothing weird or dangerous is inside, trust me on that.” He smiles as he goes down the stairs. “Johnny, follow me, I’ll show you the kitchen on my way out.” He waves you to follow without turning around. Right, the ice cream…

A few minutes pass, and you’re ready with two spoons and a gallon of ice cream. It’s not really full, but you estimate that it should be more or less what she ate when you two hung out at Jackey Frosties last time. Hopefully, she doesn’t go mental on you this time. You knock on the door… If the noise you hear is something to go by, she’s cleaning up her room.
“I have the ice cream, and Terry left the building.” He’s ready to show up in a second if you call him. You don't plan on having it come to that. “Can I go in now…?” You feel this is stupid. You already did this much for both of them, why haven't you got any answers yet?
“…” Just silence… It was noisy before you asked, but now dead silent… The door gets unlocked and opens slowly. You don't see Scarlet through the gap.
“Is that a yes?” You ask, and receive yet another creepy soundless moment. It’s do or die now! “I’m coming in!” You push the door aside and walk in. The curtains are closed, but because it’s morning, you can clearly see what’s inside.

Woah, you expected something far worse than this, but it’s your average girl’s room, if what's shown on TV is anything to go by! Because the only girl's room you have been in is Amelia’s, and hers is just the most dull looking room ever… oh, and Uccelli’s wasn’t great either, though mainly because she’s poor. There is a catch though: it’s pretty messy with a lot of stuff on the floor – books, plushies, boxes open with a variety of objects inside, even a lamp in one… Hey, at least there aren’t any clothes lying around. You don't wanna get mis-blamed for being a pervert.

You were so enchanted by Scarlet’s room, that you didn’t notice her locking the door behind you, then quickly running back to her bed. You snap out of it, and stare at your friend hiding under the sheets.

“Hey, are you okay?”
“…” She stares at you. Even though you can’t really see her face to confirm it, her head is facing your way.
“Do you want the ice cream…?”
“…” She nods furiously.
“Here have a spoon.” You get closer to her and give her the promised dessert with the spoon. She grabs both of them, but she doesn’t start to eat it yet. “Is something wrong?” You sit on the foot of the bed, right next to her. Feels a lot comfier than your own bed.
“…Pinky promise to seal the deal.” She extends her hand with her pinky up.
“Okay…” You pinky promise. You've done this kind of childish thing with Amelia when you were little, so it’s no biggie.

Scarlet stands up and takes her sheets off, revealing herself! She barely looks like the Scarlet you know! She has this ordinary look to her with pigtails and an oversized sweatshirt… How can she endure the summer heat with all that!? That’s most likely why she's red as a tomato, if not because you're in her room with her. If it wasn’t for her big butt you would have had a tougher time recognizing her. You’re honestly speechless.

“…W-what?” Now you can be sure she’s embarrassed.

“Do you feel better now?” You are not going to comment on her appearance.
“Not weally, it’s too hot…” She puts the sheets on her bed. “T-thanks for the ice cweam.” Her lisp is back and it’s very noticeable now. She opens the lid of the ice cream container and slowly starts eating. The moment of awkwardness continues as she hasn’t stopped looking at you since the moment she took her sheets off. This is uncomfortable, to say the least.
“Do I have something on my face?” You rub your hand on your face. Nope, your face is the same as ever.
“No…” She replies, still with all her attention on you.
“T-then what’s the matter?”
“Sowwy, am I making you uncomfowtable? Or do you want ice cweam too?” She’s acting so awkwardly it almost physically hurts you. “Because I can give you some…”
“Just one bite.” With the other spoon on hand you take a little bit of the dessert for you, really creamy and sweet… But not particularly of your liking. Scarlet takes the ice cream away and leaves it on a small closet next to her bed.
“Do you want to see a movie? Maybe we can watch a Chewiwton video! Did I tell you Yukika is fine now? Well not completely, but now she is smiling like she always did befowe… So what do you want to do, fwiend?” Scarlet says, still staring at you the whole time. This is far creepier than you ever thought possible. Maybe this is the real reason Osgood rejected her. Not because of her looks or anything, but because of whatever this is…

What do you respond?

“Chewirton is adorable, let’s watch one of his videos!” Hopefully he’s fine now, after the punishment he received when he tried to protect Yukika.
“Mhm!” Scarlet goes for her cellphone next to the ice cream, she quickly types something and gets really close to you — Then she puts the phone in front of you, for the two of you to watch the video.

In the video, Yukika and Chewirton are traveling Topa-kasa, that’s more in the countryside of the Prancijan… If your memory doesn’t fail you, it was the same place one of the terrorist attacks happened that ended up killing a renowned member of the Diet, or something. Yukika mentions this is where most of her family lives, and that the region is slowly growing, but they appear to be dissatisfied with the recent appearance of tourists. The reason lies in that the region is known for it’s four temples, which signify stuff Yukika didn’t seem to clarify; point is, some ruffian seems to have graffitied an important statue from a certain god called… ‘Saraswati’. You strongly feel like not telling the bear about this.

You wonder if this is where Uccelli comes from, since she talked about being from the country. You’ll have to ask her later. Anyway, Chewirton's misadventures are entertaining, but it’s weird seeing Yukika acting so cheerfully after… you know. They are going around and… It’s that fucking Rise?! She just made a peace sign at the camera and left!

“When was this one filmed?"
“This is the last one they uploaded. Yukika is wecovewing with her family, so no mowe fan weunions fow a while.” Scarlet explains, lisp still in full effect.
“I see…” You feel a chill going down your spine, as if that peace sign was meant for you. But forget that for now, what the fuck is going on with Scarlet?
“You know…”
“W-what?” She nervously replies, still looking at you.
“It would be more comfortable if we both watch the video, you know? You've been staring at me the whole time.”
“I-I alweady saw it, so I wanted to see youw weaction.” She looks down and away in embarrassment, but at least she stops staring at you.

You mentally brace yourself and match Scarlet's stare with your own. “Tell me truth. What’s going on here, Scarlet?” You’re tired of this strange atmosphere, and it’s time to put a stop to it!
“W-what do you mean?” Scarlet seems sincerely confused. “D-did I do something wwong? If I did I’m sowwy!” She nervously plays with her oversized sleeves with guilt written all over her face.

Ehm… Now you really made it awkward. How do you respond now?
