September 30th, 1988.

"Are you sure it's alright for you to drive, Mr. Joestar?" Polnareff adjusts his seat belt on the dune buggy brought by the Speedwagon Foundation.

"Of course, this new prosthetic hand is working just fine, no need to worry about my driving skills." Joseph demonstrates this by twiddling his thumbs with the new synthetic hand he received earlier today.

"They even gave me a new tarot card deck." Avdol points out "I can finally read your fortune now, Hitomi."

"I'm afraid you two will have to leave that for another time." Joseph is sad to inform. "Tempest and Billy managed to pass some information about Cairo to us."

"Oh right, didn't Billy say something about scouting Egypt? How did it go for them?" Kakyoin asks the older man in the driver's seat.

"Well, do you guys want to hear the good news or the bad new first?" Joseph glances over to the pink haired teenager.

Although judging by the way he formed his sentence, he probably wants to know everyone's response to it...

"Why don't you give us the bad news first?" You respond to Joseph. Seeing everyone nod afyter hearing your sentence, the hermit wastes no time and informs the group right away.

"For the bad news, it seems both of them got attacked by a horde of zombies on their back. They managed to take care of it, but I believe they're too injured to help us any further during this journey."

"Z-Zombies?" Polnareff stutters after hearing the information. "So there's another stand that can control the undead?"

"No. Vampires are able to create zombies at will after sucking their blood, so this is likely something that Dio did after feeding off of innocent citizens." Joseph adds. "Speaking of him, I thought my Hermit Purple would detect him better once we get closer to his location, but the signal's only been getting weaker instead."

"I noticed that too. Do you think he might be running away from Egypt?" Jotaro suggests.

"I doubt it. He's too prideful to run away from us, and given what he managed to do with Tempest and Billy, it's more likely that he's already managed to heal his body completely."

"That's awful..." Kakyoin mutters.

"What are the good news, then?" You ask, not really seeing what could even this out.

"Aside from all of that, the two managed to give us a good report." Joseph says. "Cairo's population has been weary of Dio's killings, so they evacuated most of the population away from ceirtan locations. That will probably give us a good lead on where to find that bastard."

"Good to hear then, I was worried more innocents would have to suffer due to Dio's antics. Anything else?" Avdol expectantly waits for more info.

"They spotted 12 stand users walking out of a big building. They didn't manage to pinpoint Dio's location since they had to kill the zombies after that, but it's good to know how many stand users he deployed to stop us from reaching his hideout."

"Good grief." Jotaro says his usual catchphrase. "Under one month left to go and we still have 12 users to take care of. At least they took care of the zombies, I didn't want to fight those things anymore after Enya."

"I also got this brand new polaroid camera!" Joseph takes a camera out of his traveling bag. "I had to break a few spare ones to see if I could still take pictures of Dio, but one of them is still working, so I thought of carrying this one around in case you guys want to take any photos."

>Sounds good! It'll make a nice memory.

"Sounds good! It'll make a nice memory!" You excitedly comply with the photo idea. "I always wanted to take photos at places like this."

"Me too. It'll be nice to show mom and dad that I'm making good friends." Kakyoin smiles as Joseph looks around for a good spot to place the camera.

"I don't know. Abu Simbel's desert is prone to sandstorms, so I don't think it's a particularly safe place to take a photo in." Avdol voices his worries.

"Don't be an ass, Avdol!" Polnareff dismisses the fortune teller with a tap on the shoulder. "The only sand that's been bothering me these past few days is Iggy's. And even then, I doubt he would want to kill us off in the middle of a sandstorm."

"Woof!" Iggy would probably be jumping at his hair after that comment, but since he's busy eating his favourite gum, he simply barks at him with a light frown.

"I'll set the timer!" Joseph places a camera next to a rock while the group starts formation close to each other.

You decide to sit next to Joseph and Iggy, with Polnareff sitting alongside him and the other 3 crusaders standing up. This is looking pretty good, but you don't really know what pose would be best for you on this picture.

>Just smile to the camera.

You decide to lighten the mood for the picture and place one hand on Joseph's hat while making a gun with your right thumb and index finger, as if you were pretending to shoot him in the head.

After the camera's bright flash, Joseph hurries over to get the camera and show everyone how the photo turned out.

"Very good!" Joseph smiles while the photo is passed around to the group.

"Isn't that the pose Hulk Hogan does? I thought you didn't like wrestling." Polnareff notices how similar your pose was to the american wrestler.

"No, I just wanted to look cool in it." You giggle.

"I'll make a few copies after we're done with Dio." Jotaro places the picture inside his coat. "It looks good enough to be shared around with you all."

"Alright then, back to the buggy!" Polnareff hurries to the vehicle's driver seat.

"Hey! I thought I was going to drive that!" Joseph hurries over to the vehicle and pushes the french stand user aside.

...

After driving in the buggy, Joseph suddenly pulls over afte seeing a strong wind current blowing sand not far away from the car.

"See? Told you there would be a sandstorm." Avdol points at the dust storm ahead.

"This will make things a bit difficult for us." Joseph squints his eyes as he gets out of the car, trying to protect his vision while the sand narrows his sight.

"We're awfully vulnerable if we can't see anything..." You get out of the car with the other crusaders as they try to protect their eyes from the sand. "So are we going to wait for the sandstorm to stop?"

"Staying in a sandstorm isn't good for your lungs, but walking into a stand user is a lot worse." Avdol responds. "We don't have a good place to take cover, but it seems that we'll have to wait for it to stop if we want to cross the rest of the desert."

"What about Iggy? Can't he help us out by controlling the sand?" You look over to the dog, prompting him to summon The Fool.

As soon as his stand appears, the wind starts to blow a few chunks of sand away from it. Tht doesn't seem to be hurting Iggy since The Fool is nigh-invulnerable, but it doesn't seem like he can use his stand properly in this condition.

"Well, that answers that." Polnareff shrugs as Iggy turns around to an oasis next to him.

"WOOFWOOFWOOFWOOFWOOF!" Iggy suddenly starts to bark loudly at the nearby water source, while everyone scratches their heads and try to figure out what he's trying to say.

"What is it Iggy? It's just an oasis..." Kakyoin talks back to the dog, but he doesn't stop barking.

"Unless it's not. Iggy wouldn't bark like that at an oasis if it wasn't dangerous to approach it." Jotaro points out. "There's either a stand, a stand user, or both hiding next to it. I'm 79% sure about that."

"That does make sense, but what should we do about it...?" Joseph says whilethe oasis from the desert lake stays motionless in the dust storm.

"79%? This is definetly a 99% for me, Jotaro." You focus your breathing to charge yourself with some Hamon before slowly walking towards the oasis. "Be ready to attack if you guys see anything weird, ok?"

"Will do." Kakyoin and Avdol summon their stands behind them.

Being around two meters away from the lake, you see some bubbles rising up in the middle of the oasis, you're not sure what that's supposed to mean, but it sure can't be anything good.

You instinctively summon Karma Chamelon to approach the lake, ready to punch whatever's inside the lake. but as soon as she approaches the bubbles, the nearby water forms into a claw which attempts to dig into her throat.

Narrowly escaping the attack, Karma protects herself by placing her four arms in front of her body. Feeling a sharp pain on your forearm, you pull back your sleeve to see a deep, diagonal slash on it. It's hurting a lot, but it would be a lot worse if it was on your throat...

"The enemy stand!" You shout while backing away from the claw.

"Crossfire Hurricane!"
"Emerald Splash!"

The two stand users behind you waste no time burning the oasis into a crips while hitting anything that might be hiding under it, making the entire lake evaporate.

"Did you get him?" Polnareff asks the two.

"I'm not sure, I managed to evaporate the water, but the stand might have been able to escape it in time." Avdol comments.

"A stand that controls water, huh?" Jotaro summons Star Platinum to look around. "We have no way to tell if the user is close or not thanks to this stupid sandstorm, but I'll try my best."

You're not sure where the enemy is, but it's still not safe to assume he's gone yet...

Approaching Jotaro and Iggy, you see Star Platinum trying his damnedest to see anything past the sand obscuring his view, but he doesn't seem to be having any luck at pinpointing the enemy's location.

"I don't think he's close to us, but I have no idea how far he is from us either." Jotaro is sad to admit. "Maybe Iggy will have a better clue at where the enemy is than me."

Watching the Boston Terrier sniffing around, you see the dog head southeast, the exact direction in which the wind was blowing.

"Bark--" Iggy tries to signal the group on where the user is, but the same water claw from before tries to silence him by cutting him in two.

"Iggy!" Jotaro grabs the dog with his stand and lifts him up. Oddly enough, the water stand stays in place, as if waiting for something to give away their location.

"He can't directly see them? Hmmm..." Joseph whispers as he places his hand over to the buggy's horn.

'BEEEEEEEEEP'

The stand suddenly comes flying at the vehicle while completely ignoring Joseph standing right next to the car, turning it into scrap metal in a matter of seconds before sinking beneath the sand.

"It's sound! The stand's using our sound to locate where we are!" Polnareff shouts, ironically blowing his cover.

"Shhhhhhhhh!" Avdol shushes Polnareff. "Didn't you see how fast he destroyed the car? You'll be dead in a minute if you keep shouting like that."

"What's the plan, then?" Kakyoin whispers, trying not to draw much attention to himself.

Fighting this guy head on is definetly not the way to go here. You know he is somewhere around this desert, but between the terrible field of vision and how easy it is for him to kill you off in a single move, there's got to be a better alternative...

You move Karma Chameleon an inch in front of you and make her tip toe around you, trying to fool the stand user to appear and attack her while you signal your friends to draw out their stands.

And sure enough, the claw appears one more time to catch her.

"Now!" You draw your stand back inside your body as Silver Chariot and Star Platinum show up to hit the water stand.

Despite the amount of punches and stabs being directed at the stand in perfect sync, every attack they do goes right through the claw, similarly to how your stand works when it's in liquid form.

"This isn't working, Jotaro!" A frustrated Polnareff picks up the speed on his attacks to no avail.

"Magician's Red!" Avdol's stand hurries over to evaporate the enemy after noticing he's the only one capable of defeating him in combat, aiming a punch right at the water blob.

Perceiving the commontion, the stand floats over to the side, barely escaping the flames as a small part of it turns into gas. The offensive strategy would be worth the gamble if it weren't for the cut beneath Avdol's chest, which made him drop down to his knees.

While Avdol is still recovering from the injury, the enemy will not wait for him as shown by how fast it jumps closer to him.

It appears to be aiming for Avdol's mouth. If he doesn't act in time it's possible the stand will just kill him off right there and then.

"Avdol!" Joseph stretches his Hermit Purple to reach Avdol, but you dont think he's going to make it in time...

If you think about it, [UNDER PRESSURE] does have a hard counter, which is anything that attacks you without you realising about it.

If there is no known pressure then the stand can't activate.

"Avdol! No!" You make Karma Chameleon leap over to him and shove her into Hermit Purple's thorns, which lift him above the ground as the water claw fails it's tackle.

Angrily, the water blob attempts to hit you instead. You try to retract your stand in time, but he appears to be too fast to be bested by Karma Chameleon. Hell, even if she managed to arrive in time, there isn't much she would be able to do to hurt a water stand.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M_4ahMBXKc

"Tst Tsk. You're right where I want you to be now." Avdol mutters his catchphrase while Joseph's stand is still keeping him in place.

"Crossfire Hurricane Variation!" Avdol's flames suddenly burst through the sand beneath the water blob, purging him into gas while a giant ankh appears before you.

"Good going, Avdol!" Polnareff congratulates him while the flames keep rising up.

"I saw him entering the ground when he destroyed the car, so I decided it would be a good idea to sneak some of my flames under the sand to see if I could catch him." Avdol explains. "My flames don't make any sound, but they can be felt from a distance. Fortunately Iggy knows my ability very well, so he made a tunnel connecting us two with The Fool to hit the stand at a specific spot."

"Woof!" Iggy grins at the egyptian man. Iggy really has come a long way since the fight with Wheel of Fortune, hasn't he? To think he's actively thinking of plans with a man he previously hated is quite amazing.

"AAAAAARGH!" A loud scream is heard in the distance as the enemy stand is completely evaporated when the ankh disappears.

"Good grief. We didn't even get to see the enemy this time." Jotaro complains after witnessing such an intense fight.

"He was a formidable opponent, the sandstorm was indeed a perfect location to catch us by surprise, but he's still no match for us." Kakyoins smiles after realizing the enemy was defeated.

"Forget the car, what about this sandstorm?" You worry as the sky turns orange and the sand engulfs your surroundings.

"Sandstorms can last between half an hour to upwards of two days." Joseph explains. "Prolonged exposure may lead to breathing and sight problems, so walking around the desert for 8 days doesn't seem to be very good for us..."

"8 days!? That's how long we're going to take to reach Aswan by foot?" Polnareff shouts. "It seems more like these guys are attacking our vehicles more often than attacking us..."

"Speak for yourself!" Avdol says as he bandages his wound with some cloth from his traveling bag. "I've seen a lot worse dust storms than these, so I don't think this sandstorm will last until night time. We should be relatively fine by then."

"I can always turn something into water or food too, so starving out won't be an issue if we manage our supplies well." You add, pointing to Karma Chameleon and the jewels in her palms.

"Still, this is going to be a pain." Kakyoin still seems reluctant in crossing the desert

"I almost miss the boring ride from earlier today..." Jotaro scoffs.

"Well, big deal. We're already halfwat there since I was driving at full speed, so returning to call the Foundation would only waste our time." Joseph says. "I don't like it either, but it looks like we're going to walk for a long time here..."

>Roll to see how well the group does for the next 5 days. 100 being all fine and dandy and 1 being Iggy pissed on their supplies.

Contrary to the group's expectations, crossing the desert wasn`t nearly as bad everyone thought it would be.

Karma managed to increase the food and water supply exponentially, making it possible for everyone to share some nice meals, even if it was a bit repetitve to taste the same food everyday.

The sandstorm didn`t last longer than what Avdol predicted, and thanks to a group of desert hermits, Joseph was given a map explaining the best routes to cross Abu Simbel.

Unfortunately, the group had some problems along the way. The crusaders aren`t used to sleeping in the sand at night,so adjusting to the hot, blazing day temperatures along with the cold gusts of wind at night was next to impossible. Polnareff and Joseph in particular appear to be having some bad sunburns and Kakyoin's eyesight seems to be sensitive to ultraviolet light, as he was barely able to see in the desert without a pair of sunglasses.

That's not even the worst part about it. You and the group are almost 100% sure that you're being chased and toyed around by an enemy stand user.

Throughout the journey, a few mirages have appeared in an almost realistic fashion. At first it was just a palm tree, but it was soon followed by a chicken, a stop sign, a drawing of a woman laughing at you and the last one being a sign written 'Dead stand user' with a mirror next to it.

Aside from the sunburns and Kakyoin's fear of cataract, no one seems in a bad condition to be suffering from hallucinations, so you and Jotaro deduced that the stand's ability must be to materialize mirages into reality. Something which you'll have to look out for when the stand finally attacks.

"Just one more day to go!" Joseph speaks up while the crusaders walked through the desert.

"Just one more? You make it look like we aren't taking forever to reach Aswan." Jotaro's sour mood comes at full force.

"To be honest. I thought it would be a lot worse..." Kakyoin admits while adjusting his sunglasses.

"Exactly, we have all the food and water we need, Iggy didn't eat my hair this night, and we've yet to be attacked by those weird mirages." Polnareff happily chants while drowning himself in the sunscreen he found in his bag.

"Hey! I need some of that too! You can't just use it all up like that!" Joseph snatches the bottle away with Hermit Purple.

"It a bit weird how they don't show up at night, do you think the user can't activate his stand at night?" You ponder.

"Either that or they're waiting for a good opportunity to take us down..." Avdol responds.

"Who cares? That should only makes us happier for not being attacked more often." Polnareff cotinues to be optimistic while a giant object forms a shadow in front of him. "See? even the clouds are helping us out now!"

"Polnareff... It's not a cloud that's obscuring the sun..." Avdol points out as a giant oil tanker appears to be floating in the sky.

"What the hell..." Jotaro and Joseph say in unison, before quickly realizing the ship was falling down on them.

Since there have been evacuations and such, does this mean that DIO has transformed the nearby neighborhood into another Windknight's Lot, complete with lots of zombie minions hanging around?

As you start running in Jotaro's direction, a weird idea comes out at the back of your mind...

"Jotaro, do you think we might be able to punch the oil tanker away?" You say to him while summoning your stand.

"Do you really want to take a shot at it?" Jotaro is not really sure if he can make it, but he still gives you the benefit of the doubt.

"You stopped a truck with a single punch, right? Imagine what you'd be able to do at full strength along with some help from my side!" You start slowing down your pace and stare at the oil tanker following you, making Jotaro do the same and consider his options.

"Fine. But I'm blaming you if this fails, ok?" Jotaro jokes with you as he summons Star Platinum and waits for the ship to fall on him.

"ORA!"
"KORE!"

Both your stands aim a punch at the mirage stand, but your fists goes right through it at the exact time your punch should have hit the bow.

"What?!" You stare in disbelief as your stand gets temporarily engulfed into the ship's interior.

"It turned itself back into a mirage to avoid getting hit by our stands!" Jotaro has enough time to explain what happened before the ship becomes physical again and crashes into the sand ahead of you.

"NO!" You can hear Joseph and the group shouting for far away before the ship lands exactly at where you stood with Jotaro, completely crushing whatever was currently in the way

CRASH!

COME ON JOTARO SAVE THE DAY WITH A CLUTCH TIME STOP
>>
>>2251565
A few minutes pass. Your body is in incredible pain, and for a short amount of time, you thought you went paraplegic from the crash due to your body refusing to move itself.

The pain gets incredible worse as you strain your muscles to start moving again, but you eventually manage to get on your knees while sticking your body towards the remains of a wodden wall.

It's incredibly dark in here, but judging by the appearance of your surroundings, you deduce that you're still in the wrecked ship's interior.

"I'm glad I'm not dead yet..." You see a glimmer of sunlight showing some desert sand, proving that you are indeed, still alive. Despite the astounding amount of pain and the amount of blood you're losing, you somehow didn't crush you instantly when he fell onto you, but why?

Hearing the blood dripping down on the wet wood, you look over to your left and see a thin, metal stack impaled through your forearm. It's not bleeding much due to the pole keeping your wound closed, but it's preventing you from standing up, and unless you want to die from blod loss or lose an arm, you probably should remove this with extra caution.

"K-Karma...?" You try to summon your stand to see if you can get yourself out of the wall but the marble dancer's lower set of arms seem to be broken, making you feel a weird, phantom pain on your kidneys since your real arms are technically just fine.

"Jotaro!" You quickly remind yourself about your schoolmate, which is nowhere to be seen, you can't see a lot from where you are, but you think you can see some blood spurted over the wall...

As far as you know, he could be in an even worse state than you are...

You haven't used Karma Chameleon's ability on yourself yet, since it could do some irreversible damage if you did something wrong, but you have to try if it helps you getting out of here to look for Jotaro.

For the next few minutes, you use your stand's working hands to turn the iron pole into different tissues of your body to see if you can fix your arm.

First, place Karma's left hand on the pole while her right hand absorbed different parts of your body. You start it off by reconstructing your skin, then your muscle and bone tissue, finishing it off by absorbing some blood and transfering it to get some circulation back into your forearm.

It's a slow, tedious process that takes some time to get it right. You're pretty sure you wouldn't be able to do this if the pole went flying through your body, but you manage to sucessfully transform a part of it into your arm as two smaller metal parts outside your body fall into the ground.

"My arm is feeling a bit weird..." You try to move your arm, noticing it to be oddly light and sensitive. Maybe you didn't fix it completely?

In the end, you're on the verge of fainting and still bleeding from everywhere else, but you need to put that aside and find Jotaro.

"Jotaro!?" you shout while failing to charge your Hamon hard enough to heal yourself. Your vision is starting to get blurry... He can't be dead, can he?

"JOTAROOOOO!" You crawl towards the puddle of blood you saw before, only to find no one there.

"Good grief, no need to shout so loud. You'll end up burning away the little energy you have left."A bloodied Jotaro comes limping towards you with one hand on his chest. His left leg is covered in splinters and wooden sticks.

By the odd way he's breathing, he seems to have broken a few of his ribs...

The sight of Jotaro bleeding heavily while covered in splinters is almost too much to bear for you. There's no way he's going to stay like this...

Managing to use your Hamon breathing, you grab hold of your ally's leg and pass your energy to him in order to heal the boy up. The splinters soon come out of Jotaro's body as your breathing ability makes his body repel the foreign objects out of him while closing the wounds opened by doing so.

After getting a feel on his ribs, Jotaro crouches down to where you are to hear what you have to say.

"How did we not die from this?" You groan, stil hurt from the aftermath of the impact.

"We wouldn't be able to outrun the boat even if I stopped time, so I broke as much of the ship's interior as I could before letting time flow again." Jotaro explains. "The hole was big enough to let us in without getting crushed, but the oil tanker's debris was a problem I couldn't really avoid."

"I see... I'm just glad you're still alive, Jotaro..." You force out a laugh while you're still hurt on the ground, feeling your body getting weaker by the minute.

"You should have saved the Hamon energy for yourself if you were bleeding this bad. Can you even get up?" Jotaro offers a hand and pulls you up so you can stand, but you just end updropping your body's weight on his arms.

"Haha... You wouldn't be able to do this if you were hurt, so I saved you the trouble." You muster up the remainder of your strength to reach your arms around him into a soft hug, a gesture he eventually returns with a firm embrance.

"I don't want to see you dying for my sake, Hitomi. I didn't think I would have to tell you that for you to get a clue..."

While he's holding you close with a strong enough grip to not let you fall down, you notice that he's still being delicate to not touch your wounds and hurt you even more. What a great guy...

"Hey, Hitomi. Are you listening to me? Hitomi! Stay with me!" You hear Jotaro's words echoing through your head as you close your eyes and rest your face on his chest, fainting from overexerting both your stand and your body.

...

"Woof!" You hear a familiar bark not far away from you as your eyes slowly open up again.

"Hitomi! Are you feeling alright?" You see Avdol sitting down across from you in what appears to be a train's passenger car.

"I've taken worse blows than this but... Uuuugh!" You feel your sore muscles straining themselves as you sit down on the chair. "Not really..."

"Mr. Joestar and I took care of your wounds as best as we could, but even with his Hamon, we weren't able to fully heal you." Avdol tells you as you check your previous wounds, only to see most of them bandaged while the minor cuts at your skin were already healed.

"That's alright. You two still helped me a lot so you have my thanks!" You thank Avdol while still feeling a familiar pain on your ghost arms. You summon Karma Chameleon while charging up your Hamon and let her heal herself while the Hamon current passes through her rugged skin. "Where are we?"

"After seeing how bad your wounds were, we didn't want to keep crossing the desert on foot, but we found a suspicious train driver that offered us a ride to Aswan right after getting you and Jotaro out of the wrecked oil tanker." The fortune teller informs.

"How convenient..." You sarcastically comment, already thinking that he's a stand user. "I guess we had no better alternative, so we might as well take the risk for it..."

"Indeed." Avdol shuffles around with his tarot deck. "That other mirage stand didn't attack us after you and Jotaro were down, so at least we have that going for us."

"Where's Jotaro, anyway?" You ask him about your fellow stand user.

"He's taking a rest on the other cabin with Polnareff. He was in a much better condition, but the stress still probably took a toll on him." Avdol responds while Iggy sat down on the chair next to you. "I have to say, Jotaro's ability to stop time was something I definetly wasn't expecting. And to think that wasn't even the best thing Kakyoin had to tell me yesterday..."

"Since you're with the tarot deck here, could you please read my fortune?" You ask Avdol, prompting him to shuffle the cards.

Picking the first card from the top, you see a familiar figure when you turn the label around.

'XIII: Death.'

"Again? That's the same card I got when I was back in India..." You frown in disappointment. You hoped you would get something else, not more of the same.

"Well, the upside Death card represents change and transformations, either coming from you and your surroundings." Avdol tells your fortune. "It can also suggest resistance to change and the being incapable of moving of from previous life events if it's reversed. Since you're always improving yourself while traveling with us, it's likely your fortune won't change until you go back to Japan."

"I guess that makes sense, but that does raise another question. We fought a bunch of stand users named after tarot cards, but we never saw someone representing the Death card." You point out to the egyptian man.

"I wouldn't be able to explain that since I wasn't present in half of those fights..." He shrugs, reminding you on how he spent the previous weeks on a bed. "The remaining tarot card should be The World, which if I had to guess I would say it belongs to Dio, but the other 11 users we haven't defeated yet makes me worry about what they're able to do..."

You try to think of something the mirage stand you fought before had in common with the water stand Avdol evaporated, but since you can't think of anything, you decide to just change the subject altogether.

"What else did Kakyoin say to you, anyway?" You curiously ask the magician.

"I had the feeling you and Jotaro were hanging out a lot more than when I left back in India. So Kakyoin told me he was helping Jotaro come out of his shell by giving him tips on how to better express his emotions."

"Really? That's good to hear. I never saw either of them interacting a lot with other people on school so it's good to know that they're--" You stop yourself after thinking back on the first part of Avdol's sentence. "Wait, what does that have to do with me?"

"Well, Kakyoin said he's also been giving Jotaro some advice on how to act around women, even though he chooses to ignore some of the tips he's given." Avdol chuckles.

"What!?" You shout after hearing Avdol's revelation. "How long have they been planning that?"

"I'm not sure, it's just funny to think Kakyoin of all people was trying to help Jotaro with girls and not the other way around." Avdol laughs.

"H-How much do you know!?" You ask Avdol in a flustered manner, blushing at the thought of Jotaro spilling the beans to everyone else on the group.

"Jotaro isn't the talkative type, so whenever Kakyoin asked him about progress the boy would just respond with 'I'll tell you when we're back in Japan'." Avdol informs. "I'm not much into gossiping anyways, so I respect his decision to keep this private."

"He's on the right by doing this. We can't stop here and talk about feelings! This is Egypt we're talking about, the stand fighting country!" You remind the magician.

"I would consider that the best time to talk about feelings, to be completely honest." Avdol adjusts his headband. "It's a good way to cope while under pressure, but since I don't want to sound pushy, we can leave it at that if you don't want to talk about this either."

"Yeah, that's probably for the best..." You slowly get up from your seat, seeing if you can walk without straining your injuries. "Is it ok for me to take a look around the train?"

"Sure, just don't make any rash movements." Avdol advices you to prevent any wounds from reopening. "See you later."

Closing the door to the wagon after walking out of your seat. You try to think of a place worth going to while stretching your legs.

Using Karma Chameleon to help you walk around to the next wagon, you soon arrive at where Jotaro and Polnareff are resting.

"Hey! Good to see you're awake, Hitomi. We were worried about you two." Polnareff opens the door and helps you sit down next to Jotaro. "Hey! Wake up Jotaro! Hitomi's here." He waves at the blue coated teenager.

"...Hitomi?" Jotaro squints his eyes open and stares at your bruised face.

"Hey, Jotaro... I just wanted to check in and-- Ow! Ow! Cut that out!" He pinches your ear after recognizing you.

"If any other object tries to crush us again, I'm not listening to your plans." Jotaro complains.

"Come on, Jotaro! What's with the sour attitude? I already took out the rest of your splinters." Polnareff shows him a small jar full of toothpick-sized pieces of wood.

"Congrats, it only took you half an hour." Jotaro talks back at him while adjusting himself on the seat.

"Geez, fine!" Polnareff ignores Jotaro's moody comments. "Is there something you wanna talk about, Hitomi?"

"What do you guys think about that train driver?" You ask the two while placing a hand on your sore ear.

"Absalom? He seems awfully polite." Polnareff nonchalantly responds your question with an useless statement.

"I'm not sure I trust a locomotive called 'Satanic Coupler'. Jotaro joins the conversation. "We didn't see any train tracks while we were walking for the past 5 days, so I'm pretty sure this guy is full of shit."

"It was either going on the train ride or letting you two bleed to death on the desert. So if you have another alternative, be my guest!" Polnareff talks back to Jotaro. "He said we would reach Aswan at around 4:00 PM, so we don't have a lot to worry about."

"It's 3:59 here, so we'll have to wait for him to announce our arrival." Jotaro checks the time on his watch.

"What about the mirage stand? Any signs of it while on the train?" You ask Polnareff.

"Not really, we've been having a pretty calm trip for the last hour or so..." Polnareff suddenly rubs his shoulders. "Is it me or did it suddenly get cold in here?"

Looking out the window, you see the reason the temperature suddenly dropped. It appears to be snowing outside, along with a few snow planes and helicopters flying around the hills.

"Well, spoke too soon..." Polnareff stares at the snowy desert.

"Attention all passengers. The train has arrived at it's final destination: Hell City." A male voice comes out of a loudspeaker. "Thank you for traveling with Absalom and his stand, Satanic Coupler."

"Good grief..." Jotaro notices the door not budging after turning the door handle with Star Platinum.

"Summoning your stand, you have her hold a piece of your skirt with her lower right hand to transform the iron door into fabric.

"Leave the rest to me!" Polnareff summons Silver Chariot and rips the black door to shreds, making it possible for the 3 of you to escape the current room.

"Mr. Joestar! Kakyoin! Where are you?" You hear some loud, metallic sounds inside the wagon while shouting for your friends.

"It's no use shouting for them, Hitomi!" The loudspeaker turns itself on again. "Satanic Coupler is fully controlled by me! You will never be able to escape now that I upgraded the inner walls!"

The locomotive gets progressively faster as soon as it's inner walls changes color from black to red.

"ORA!" Star Platinum tries to break the walls of the locomotive, but he's barely able to scratch Satanic Coupler as the ruber walls parry the blow, effectively negating the damage.

"We can't directly damage the stand either!" Polnareff takes Silver Chariot's armor off and tries to cut through the train's ceiling at max speed. But the rapier's slashes get deflected back at him a he tries to protect himself from the cuts with Chariot's vulnerable armourless body.

"I was planning on finishing you off by crashing this train somewhere." The stand user opens a door on the other side of the wagon. "But seeing how you're all part of the modern civillization, I can't let you die without torturing you all as payment to your crimes!"

"Absalom? What the hell are you on about?!" The injured Polnareff asks.

"It doesn't matter if you don't understand it, you're going to reach Hell City regardless of your intellect." Absalom points to a floating castle on the window, which appears to have dozens of medieval knights aiming arrows at the train with their crossbows.

Like Avdol said, it can also be indicative of how much Hitomi is changing as a person, whether that's in terms of personality and/or skills.

But it can also represent stasis and being unable to move on from stuff. Perhaps it's also some kind of warning that Hitomi could get caught up on something that will happen on this journey, and affect her negatively for a long period afterward?

Might also just be some kind of meta-commentary on how anons tend to want to raise the protagonist's level of power (fighting or political or otherwise) during most of any type of quest, even in peaceful times.

The window pane expands so the arrows could easily reach you and the others, but Star Platinum and Silver Chariot's afterimages appear beside Karma to prevent any damage.

With 3 stands deflecting, cutting and catching all the arrows shot by the knights, the enemy barrage was but a complete pushover to your combined power and agility.

"You bastards!" Absalom makes the train's wagon tilt to the left, sending the three of you sliding over to the large window.

"Hitomi!" Polnareff catches you with his stand as a doorknob flies to your face and almost sends you stumbling out the window from the impact. You can't be more than a meter high from the train tracks when Chariot starts to lift you up.

"Don't even think about jumping off the train, Hitomi!" Absalon mocks you. "Satanic Coupler is currently traveling at 300 Km/h. Coming to a dead stop at this speed would be enough to snap your fragile neck in an instant!"

"You bastard..." Jotaro growls at him for almost killing you and Polnareff, but due to being out of range and the flooring being a bit too trickery for his liking, he doesn't do much aside from glaring at him from afar.

"Come on, I got you!" Polnareff almost brings you back to the train, but you manage to spot something weird about Satanic Coupler while you're getting back up.

"Wait! Send me back down, Pol!" You order him.

"What?! Why?!"

"He upgraded the train's interior, but the wheels look completely normal! Maybe if we attacked the train from below we could top the train!" You explain to Polnareff, making him hold you back down so you can do a double check under the train.

Taking a look on the train's wheels, you soon realize that the bottom of Absalom's stand doesn't have a single upgrade added on top of it. It looks just as old and rusty as any train from the early 40s should look like.

Gazing over to the left, you also see a weird, metallic mechanism connecting your wagon with the remaining train cars. The train might lose it's stand power if it gets detached from the rest of Satanic Coupler, but who knows what Absalom will do to Mr. Joestar and the others if you escape with Polnareff and Jotaro...

>Ask Polnareff to lift you back up.

"Thanks for the free upgrade, you idiot!" Karma absorbs Satanic coupler's upgraded exterior to give some extra force to your punches before aiming her four arms at the wheels.

"KORESOREKORESOREKORESORE!" You start destroying the train wheels one by one, making your wagon slide on the train tracks at a high speed. Knowing very well that this could end up killing him as well, Absalom decides to stop the train.

As Satanic Coupler slowly comes to a stop, Polnareff lifts you back up to the booth while the door behind Absalom is opened once again.

"M-Michal! Don't come over here!" The man instructs the the young girl as she runs closer to him. By the weird hand gestures she's doing to him, it appears that the girl isn't able to speak.

"I know you don't want to fight, but it wouldn't be fair for either of us to continue living like this! These assholes living in the city shouldn't be able to have a better life than us!" Absalom shouts back at her.

"Hermit Purple!" Joseph's voice echoes out of a window as his stand engulfs Michal in its thorny vines.

"Get away from my sister, you bastard!" The young train driver runs to the window, only to be greeted by Star Platinum's fist.

"ORA!" Jotaro knocks Absalom into the ground, making the stand user fall down unconscious.

"Mr. Joestar! How did you get back here?" Polnareff asks Joseph after approaching the window.

"Iggy used The Fool to break the window sills so we could get off the train. We were all trying to follow after you guys before the locomotive stopped.

"Woof!" You see Iggy walk next Avdol and Kakyoin over to the window, accompanied by an egyptian man you don't think you've seen before...

Exiting out of the crazy train with Jotaro and Polnareff, you walk over to the man behind Joseph with mild curiosity.

"Who is this guy?" You point at the short man wearing egyptian attire.

"This is Talmai, an old village chief who was trying to follow the train with us for some reason." Avdol explains. "We let him tag along since he claims to know who Absalom is, but he hasn't explained himself yet."

"These two used to live on our village not too long ago, actually." The villager speaks up. "I never knew what happened to their family after they went away, so I wanted to ask them about this."

"Well, we only have Michal here, but I don't know sign language..." You look around to see if anyone knows how to communicate with the mute woman.

"I'm a bit rusty, but I guess I could try it out." Avdol walks over to the girl and starts translating what she has to say.

"Absalom and I were visiting Cairo back in 1984 with our parents, it was my brother's choice since he was always fascinated by big cities as a kid due to being isolated in a desert village for so long. Things were going great until a terrible accident happened: The bus we were riding stopped on a grade crossing and got crushed by a train. The 4 of us were still alive, but the rescuers gave priority to the wealthy people and local residents, so our parents bled out in front of us while we waited. Absalom broke his legs and I had my throat slashed by a steel splinter."

"Damn... This sounds awful..." Polnareff looks down, somewhat relating to the girl since he also doesn't have a family.

"That's not even the worst part." Avdol continues to trasnlate Michal's sign language. "As a result, my brother started to hate the entire civillized world as a result. That's why he met Lord Dio, he promised Absalom to reconstruct modernized civillization to his liking, an idea that my brother liked so much that he even pledged loyalty for the man over it. He gave us these stand abilities and promised to heal my throat if we took care of you, but I never asked for this! I tried multiple times to convince him to stop doing this and just go back to our old village but he just kept forcing me to obey him too! I just didn't want to see him die alone..."

"Wait, you were the mirage stand user? We almost died several times due to your fault." Jotaro glares at Michal.

"I was trying my best to not attack you directly at first, but my brother said he would just kill me instead if I didn't start acting serious." Michal starts tearing up while her hands start to tremble. "I'm truly sorry for this, please just let us go back to our village! It's all I want!"

"Well, that's what I'm here for." The village chief says. "The folks back home were missing you, Michal. You're more than welcome to stay back there."

"Maybe your brother won't be angry about losing if we healed your throat..." You inch closer to Michal and place a hand on her throat, attempting to heal her vocal chords.

She's momentarily scared for the glow on your hand being transfered into her esophagus, but after you're done restoring her voice, you wait for her to speak as the shocked young woman places her hands on her throat.

"It...Worked...? I can speak again!" the surprised egyptian girl pulls you into a hug. "Thank you so much! Absalom and I will never forget this!"

"Hey, it's alright. You deserve some peace of mind too." You say to her when she lets go of you. "So you'll go back to your village, right?"

"Of course! I can't wait to see everyone again after so long!" She smiles. "I can't wait for my brother to wake up, he'll be so happy to hear my voice again."

"You're free to go then, it's a deal!" Joseph gives her a thumbs up.

"Thanks for the help, Chief Talmai!" Kakyoin says to the village chief.

"No problem. Aswan is only 3 kilometers from here, so I'm sure you'll be able to reach the city real soon!" Talmai waves goodbye after the group starts walking away from him and the stand users.

October 4th, 1988.
Stand Users: Absalom and Michal.
Stand Names: Satanic Coupler and Dark Mirage.
Status: Alive.

...

"I gotta say, this encounter gave me some mixed feelings..." Kakyoin thinks out loud after reaching Aswan.

"Same here. I have to admit I wouldn't feel very well to kill an innocent woman's brother." Avdol says.

"Hell, I'm not able to kill women in general." Polnareff admits.

"Hitomi did good today, that's all that really matters." Jotaro gives his two cents on the events.

"Indeed, that was very kind of you, Hitomi!" Joseph congratulates your selfless gesture.

"Thanks! I don't mean to brag, but after surviving an oil tanker crashing down on me, healing a bad throat was easier than getting my shoelaces tied." You joke around after hearing their comments while Joseph looks for a nearby inn.

I was going to suggest that, since we had Karma asorb the super-hard upgraded exterior of the train, we should convert something on our person to that material so we could use it again in the future. Like a small strip of cloth or the hand of our doll or something.

Alas, since we can't, we could try absorbing Star Platinum and converting material into that stuff so we have easy access to it. Same for other potential stuff, like an Emerald Splash emerald.

Quick update: Real life is catching up with me again so don't expect another thread until mid-February.

That sucks. Hope life will give you a break.

N-Nani? A stand that can stop threads for up to half a month? That's dangerous! Way too dangerous!

Sounds like 『Real Life』 is a direct hard counter to 『Made in Heaven』

No worries, Dust. Hope everything goes well!

and holing on Jotaro to keep balance.

I can't stop but think that she's trying to grab his dick.

Yep, she want that potato sprout.

This is nice. Now i can't help but think that we need a drawfag to draw the version Dust described, then we would have something perfect to remember the quest by. It could even serve as the thread OP occasionally too.

This actually looks pretty cool. I appreciate it.
>>2256410
I would definetly do that if an anon made good art for the quest. Drawfagging is always encouraged on /qst/ but since not everyone can have competent drawing skills (myself included) it would be a nice surprise.

Idea: a small length of chain so she can convert individual links into various materials to have them on demand
>>
>>2259184
We can even borrow the chain from Jotaro.

So I talked to a drawfag I know and got him to draw this. He's slowly catching up in the threads, as well.
