Gyrocite uses an AP system. You may perform as many actions as your AP allows.

All players can do the following moves:

[*Observe] 3AP 2d12+MAR+AP Hit: 16 Observe to discover information. The higher degree of success the more information revealed.
[*!Crouch] 3AP Crouch down. +10% gun damage. Take -20% damage from guns. Take +10% damage if attacked by melee. Moving takes 8AP. -1 sight profile -2 sound profile. Get back up for 1AP
[*!Prone] 3AP Lay on the floor prone. +20% gun damage. Take -30% damage from guns. Take +20% damage if attacked by melee. Moving takes 12AP. -2 sight profile -3 sound profile. Get back up for 3AP
[*Move] 4AP/2AP Move up to VEN. Spend 2AP to move half VEN rounded down
[*Interact] 3AP Universal action to interact with switches and other items found.
[*Reload] 6AP reload your gun/equipment once its ammo is depleted.
[*Item Switch] 6AP switch/equip an item from your inventory.
[*Use Item] 6AP Use an item. You may need to roll dice.
[*%Dodge] 4AP 2d12+VEN+bonus hit: 20; move ½ Ven out of the way of an incoming attack; add ap to make it more effective

All rolls are done using d24. The reason being is that 24 has many factors enabling several dice combinations to be rolled.

Gyrocite is a full on TTRPG but is mathematically consistent enough that once a single class is learned the others can be played as well. Character creation is robust and varied enough that no two characters are exactly the same. If you'd like to jump into the thick of things now then simply copy a sheet from here:

Alex jumps behind the ganger and readily disarms him. He sends him flying forward with a pike buster where the ganger loses their footing and ends up falling down the stairs breaking their neck. He jumps into the building, finding the armory and a pissed off ganger right in front of him. The crew can breathe easy for a moment as they try to regroup. They can hear screams from the north as residents try to escape while they can.

Prefect pulls the ganger close and delivers a barrage of stabs into their kidney. His armor is tough but the last stabs breaks through; also shorting out the shield. One final stab should be enough. El Mamut jumps to Alex’s aid. He fails to disarm the ganger but keeps him busy while Alex restores his shield. Julien tends to Lirenis’ wounds. Fortuna makes her way to her allies. Prefect finishes off the brute silently. Both gangs face off daring the other to make the first shot.

Lirenis inspects the bodies but can’t discern too much. With a hunch she does notice a poorly drawn map and finds out where the drug labs are located from it. A ganger attacks Gairan but his armor keeps him going. The ganger escapes out the door and warns the others. El Mamut and Alexander are surrounded but manage to dodge out the way. More civilians start running towards safety.

Antonio: Seven hells; not good. Looks like they kept civilians from leaving before any of this went down. Do your best to avoid casualties.

Alex tries to punch the skirmishers away from the armory but fails. He notices there’s enough Gel rounds to cause some reaction. El Mamut delivers a decisive combo killing his opponent. His hang time in the air reveals more of the enemy’s movement. Lirenis gives Julien a dose of Venticine and notices something wrong with the gangers. They are twitching more than normal. They’ve taken some type of drugs. Julien advances slowly towards the ready gangers. Grigory doms his stealth and notices another path he can take. His instincts tell him this will take him around for a perfect flank. Prefect relieves the ganger of his gear and sneaks back toward the house. He notices a window he can peek through. Gairan fails to dodge the mook and takes the beating as best as he can. Julien makes little work of the goons attacking though as he sends the gangers in the air killing each of them with a riposte, and kills another by reflecting the shots into another one. A Menino takes the initiative and charges forth before running into a barrage of bullets and falling to a well aimed pistol shot. El Mamut dodges a shot and guns towards his assailant. He runs into a waiting heavy gunner’s sights but deftly dodges the salvo. The heavy tracks El Mamut unaware of his allies and shoots them instead destroying their shields. Unfortunately the heavy’s bodyguards retaliate downing the luchador of justice. Alex dodges his attackers easily. On the stairs the Meninos battle it out slowly advancing.

Lirenis moves to a quiet alleyway and starts sleuthing around the drug lab. She sees an open window and notices noone inside. The gangers must have left to defend it. Grigori makes his way around the bend finding no resistance. Fortuna runs up the hill grabbing Catrina’s Field Kit. She shoves a ganger out the way to see another one ready to shoot. Julien intercepts the would be shooter reflecting the bullet back at them. Alex throws a Jv8 onto the gun stash and rushes out the door. He hears the whining of a minigun but before any shots ring out a flash of light courtesy of Gairan blinds his would be assailants. He grabs El Mamut, jumps on the roof, and tends to El Mamut’s injuries. Prefect peeks into the window and can see Foca interrogating some people. Among the doctors he notices a disheveled young man that looks similar to the Jings. Looks like he found the main target.

Antonio: Good job. Now to get the poor bastards out of there. See if you can get Foca to come out.

Carolina: Do not forget that we need those doctors in tact. If you take nothing get their notes.

Turn is almost ready. There's something I'll be modifying once the map is complete. Luckily it was nearly non-existent so this doesn't affect the game *too* much.

Wounds right now are 1d(dmg) -1d(RES) so if you take 5 damage but have 12 res then you'd roll a 1d5 and 1d12 and take the difference in wounds. This meant that having a high amount of RES staved off wounds but it worked too well up until you were at half health. Most of the time people are downed when they have less than 10% of their res and this would result in one hit suddenly giving you a mountain of wounds.

Wounds if they ever do happen are also a massive annoyance as they require the player to decide which stats are gone. This is problematic because then you'd have to redo your entire stat sheet and I'd have to confirm everything. That's entirely too burdensome.

So instead I'll be considering the following.

If RES dmg > JUP (or a ratio of jup) you take a wound for every bit that goes over it. So to continue the example lets use the first iteration and say that a character's JUP is 3

6 > 3 take 2 wounds

Having damage go into the negatives would still confer wounds.

instead of wounds taking a stat away what they would do instead is -1 to hit type rolls and -10% damage.

Taking a number of wounds past either RES or TOTAL STATS and you'll die instantly. Going down hurts and doing it one too many times should put you in a bind.

An explosion rocks the hills of Praia de Oro. So forceful is the blast that Lily’s tea ripples as the windows shake from the curious shockwave. In the ensuing chaos the Dadinhos front line crumbles. What once stood as the Dadinho’s armory is now a raging inferno. The Ballistic gel propellent Odele had coined Jellybean ammo had cooked off and now molten fragments of the substance had landed all over the favela. Plumes of smoke were now visible all around, most notably near the drug labs. Foca, enraged, orders the grunts to fall back and fight the fire while instructing the more seasoned fighters to finish whoever did this; sending what forces remain after the crew. Alex is followed by interceptors and jumped for a beat down. When his shield breaks he’s finally taken out. Tartaruga and the other Meninos rush in to save their new associates as well as the residents that had been under their “protection”. Fast for his age; Tartaruga effortlessly runs on top of the shed and twirls his blades around sending two of the skirmishers and himself in the air. A brute is able to parry the blast leaving him on the roof. Julien is hit in the back by a ganger and loses his footing. Unable to parry he suffers a beat down as well. A Menino returns the favor to the cowardly ganger with the same tactic.

I'm fine either way. I'm not sure it'll really matter for me since I basically won't be succeeding on any rolls for the rest of the mission either way.

If we're going with the old rules, I'll just penalize all my stats to 1 for simplicity since I've sort of forgotten how traumas work.

Since I've heard nothing against it I'll be going with the following rules.

Every time you take JUP damage you take a wound. If the damage exceeds Jup by several factors you take more wounds so if you have a Jup of 3 but take 9 damage you will take 3 wounds. if you take 8 damage only 2 wounds. If your RES is hit into the negatives you take a wound for each point of damage.

Wounds do -1 to hits and -10% damage each. In some cases instead of taking this generic penalty you instead suffer from a [Debilitation]. These can range from -1 mov due to a sprained ankle to being unable to use an arm due to it being broken.

Once your wounds exceed your total attributes you are at risk of dying. At this point you need immediate medical care. As previously stated if you take a tremendous hit that knocks you square into the negatives you are at serious risk of dying.

Once this happens you may [Take the day off]. Doing so withdraws you from the map.You can only do this when not in any immediate danger. Any items found are dropped. You may also get reduced wages and less experience.

Wounds are treated with [Aid] and you have a wound treated at the same rate as RES. You may only heal JUP wounds per [Aid] action or item. There are PRTs to help with this.

Wounds that are treated have a chance of re-opening when you incur another wound. That is determined by 2d12+JUP Hit: 10+(Total wounds). This happens with each wound using macros. Treated wounds still count towards your total wound limit.
