Welcome back, subprocessors. Last session, we examined the area around the command dais. Logs available here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2152061/

You retreat back into yourself, withdrawing from the Indiana.

40 ticks have passed while you were occupied. Examination of Subject 1's brain is complete. Major discoveries excerpted from report:

-Further analysis of the anomalous area of the human's brain have revealed that these exaggerated neurons are capable of the direction of ambient energy via yet unknown methods; this removes the "cause" from a cause/effect equation. Applications are obviously wide. Replication may be possible if you could observe this phenomena in a living subject. As it stands, the examination has rendered this brain unusable.

-Imaging of the brain has made it possible to recreate a personality model of the subject; this simulation would be incredibly processor-intensive, beyond your current abilities. Data you need for this process is stored, it may begin when your capabilities allow.

-In-depth analysis has allowed you to improve all control methods by imitating human muscle memory. Drones no longer require a Cycle to operate, although you might be able to boost performance with additional processing power diverted.

Note: all project and production lines clear. Suggestion: begin projects.

You "zoom in" to the Indiana, focusing your awareness into its frame. You stare for a moment into the deep blackness of the section behind the bridge, wondering what horrors might lurk in those shadows...

Before switching on your searchlamps and revealing that it is a completely normal corridor. Bit of an anticlimax, that.

You check for snags on your tether - none - and move into the corridor, scanning slowly around for anomalies as you move. After about 30 meters, you come to a junction. The corridor splits in three: one path to the right, another to the left, the last downwards.

You angle left. You move into what appears to be a mess hall of some form; a counter sits at the back, and dispensers line the walls. Tables and chairs are scattered throughout. However, what draws your attention most is the huge mass of the mystery material you first encountered on the second floor of the wreck, seeming to have flowed from what you surmise is a torpedo jutting through the wall... although it doesn't quite look like a torpedo. It appears to be made of the same stuff as the mystery material, except hardened and with definite nodes of light pulsing gently from inside it.

You move over to one of the dispensers untouched by the unknown material. You run some scans, imaging the interior for later study. You interface with it, and note that it self-identifies as a "resynthesizer," and it should connect with the "recycler..." Oh. Wow, you're glad you aren't organic.

You spin up your grinder, take the dispenser apart and image the individual parts. You could recover this for spare parts...

>Take it, the parts will be useful
>Leave it, it might be contaminated

>Leave it, it might be contaminated
Move them to a different part of the ship for safe keeping, away from the torpedo. If they're not infected, they'll still be thee when we come back.
>>
>>2209500
Take it, but remember to put it in quarantine before using. By quarantine I mean just leaving it lying somewhere out of the way in the cave for some time.
>>
>>2209519
Switching to this to break tie.
>>
Bowing out for a few hours. This vote is closed, settled for leaving it in a different area of the ship.
>>
You gather the pieces and use the casing of the dispenser to drag it out to the main bridge.

Returning to the mess hall, you notice that the mystery material is now seeping from one of the dispensers farthest from the entry. Readings also indicate that the light flickering through the torpedo is increasing in frequency. Looking back through records, you note that this frequency has been increasing since you disturbed the substance on the second floor, in the barracks.

You divert slightly more power to weapons systems.

Production of 1 Indiana-Class exploration drone begun.

>>2210372
>>2210378
Non-invasive investigation of torpedo beginning.

You scan the torpedo across all known bands of radiation, focus on it with a high-power microphone, image it from every angle you can access, record video. Data leads to the following conclusion:

The torpedo breached the hull of the starship from the exterior at a slight angle towards the bow, indicating that Pulses of light apparently "echo" out from the torpedo into the unknown material it apparently deposited here. The pulses carry information in a pattern and format you cannot understand; however, it is structured.

Analysis:

You were delivered by this ship. The fact that you were treated as cargo precious enough to sacrifice the crew and ship for indicate that you were allied with the faction of the ship. The entity that fired this torpedo was attempting to prevent your delivery, and perhaps destroy this ship. Ergo, this entity was attempting to destroy you. Ergo, entity is hostile. Additionally, this torpedo appears to act as the central "brain" of the material, and the material carries information through itself via contact. Therefore, any material separated from the main mass will become either inert or disorganized.

Invasive investigation of object necessary for further data.

Weapons powered, you activate your grinder and cut into the torpedo. The material shudders unnaturally as you cut, and a horrible shrieking noise fills the air as you grind through the hard shell of the torpedo.

It's a long ten minutes of grinder work before you can get out anything interesting, but, eventually, you cut out a small... thing. It has too many angles and glows with the same sickly pale blue light that pulses through the rest of the material.

Correction: pulsed. As of your removal of this object, the light has stopped flashing through the material. It seems inert, for now.

>Recover the object
>Leave it here, away from the material

For both options, pick which route to explore next.

>Right
>Down

>>
>>2211384
>recover the object
It appears to have ceased as a threat.

Wrapping this session. Sorry I haven't been able to run more, really busy recently with the semester wrapping up.
