>How will't thou corrupteth ye olde fantasy setting?

It's been a little over two weeks since your summoning to the mortal realm, but you've been busy all the while. Your fiendish schemes aren't going to carry themselves out, after all! Already you've drawn a loyal fool into servitude, and two others lured along with various promises. A little band of followers, mostly unawares of your true nature which suits you just fine. Together with them, you've managed even to murder your way into potential ownership of stately home. Yes, things are certainly looking up for you, now if only you could sort out the mess of things back down below in the Hellscape. Whispers, rumblings of other infernal denizens looking upon your actions here in the mortal realm with envy, anger, or even fear. You wouldn't sit idly by in their situation, so why should you expect them to?

Particularly when, already there's been an attempt on your life, and difficulties met along the way. Nobody said it was going to be easy to build power, and carve yourself out a chunk here in the mortal realm, though. You're up to the challenge, right?

At the moment you, Amelie (your mortal disguise for your true demoness self), only just murdered a kindly older gentleman whom welcomed you into his home as a charitable gesture. Hoping to leave these grounded lands for one of the skybound floating towns, he was taken by your feigned act of being a happy young couple soon to be married, you and your devoted faux-fiance Lucas. The arrangement had seemed to be that if the both of you took well to living in the gentleman's home for a year or so with him, then he'd be amenable to transferring the property to you for the meager amount of funds you have. No kith or kin to speak of and hoping to retire to bluer pastures, it would have been a nice last act of charity to a fellow noble, which he believes you to be. Another lark, of course.

Ah, but yourself a demoness, you couldn't allow a good deed to go unpunished! Why wait a year or more when you could have it all in a day? With just a murder... a rather shoddy one to be fair, the fellow now lies dead in the other room and you're poised to take everything of his for yourself. Now, if only the appropriate documents you forged hold up under scrutiny, if only you have a plan, excuse and good "story" for the death and the body, and if only all loose ends are dealt with, then you may well have your home. Your own little despoiled chateau from whence to grow and spread your power and corruption of the mortal realm.

>How do you proceed?

>>
>>2182502
Obviously we are far off kin, he sent us the papers by letter, he said to meet him here but we haven't seen him since we arrived, Oh how we miss our dear sweet uncle.

Toss the body in the river.
>>
>>2182521
Are you planning on using his name? On the one hand it could help your case but on the other, it could tie you to it.
>>
>>2182521
That sounds too suspicious imo, let's go with the post of the previous thread about getting some wolves to eat the corpse, he went on a walk and didn't come back
>>
>>2182533
Yeah, it is pretty suspicious
What to do with Lucas, then...? Whisper to him in his ear and tell him not to worry? Erase his memory of the event?
>>
>>2182540
If we can let's do it
>>
>>2182540
>>2182546
You have enough influence over Lucas that you can manipulate his mind, that he can think or forget what you wish him to. Though it raises a good issue of your honesty towards him. Are you planning on keeping him in the dark indefinitely? It's possible, but best to settle on a decision before skirting back and forth on the subject.
>>
>>2182567
Would he actually care what we are at this point? If not we might as well shed the skin with him.
>>
>>2182567
Alright, let's just go over the facts then, plan from there.
This guy lives here
He is currently dead, with a broken chair and some marks to show he was murdered.
Lucas knows he's dead.
We copied some documents to make it official, but his handwriting is different after a certain point
There is a guy coming to check on him, but we don't know when? I think? Only that he shows up every few months.
We can control animals and summon a creature or familiar.
>>
>>2182573
It depends, right? Of course you can just manipulate him, but left on his own it could vary. If you shed your disguise in a hellish fury and compel him to submit then he’ll likely care. If however you’re sweet about it, and make him want to not care, then maybe eternal damnation might not seem so bad.

>>2182593
Mostly correct, though for the caretaker, from what you understand he doesn’t exactly show up to check on the guy. He just shows up and sees to the grounds, but you could imagine he doesn’t specifically need to see the guy. Just get paid and told what to do, if by him or a liason.

And yes you have a range of demonic powers, though the more your own power, the more the range of powers will grow.
>>
>>2182601
Hmmm... not sure if it's within our powers, but any chance we can check his hand for old injuries?
>>
>>2182616
Looking at his hand is probably too difficult for us to pull off currently.
>>
>>2182622
We can manipulate flesh, so perhaps we could examine it? Seems within our purview. Not entirely sure on that.
>>
>>2182627
And I thought I turned you off.
>>
>>2182616
Whose hand?
>>
>>2182641
Dead guys.
>>
>>2182601
Can we defile the body to have power over it? Carve a demonic symbol on him then have the marks disappear?
>>
>>2182651
Is there something you’re looking for in particular?

>>2182653
Indeed, yes you can. The soul is gone, nothing to resist your manipulation now. Easier to do though if you make a ritual of it, but same end result.
>>
>>2182704
I say we erase the marks and then dispose of the body on a nearby trail then call some wolves over to gore the body
>>
>>2182712
And the next day we "find" the body and report it, show the forged deed and give the money to whoever it may concern, hopefully it'll work
>>
>>2182704
Old bone fractures or the like. Just want to see if the change in handwriting was because he was replaced or had a hand injury.
>>
>>2182720
That's a clever idea. You can check though, nothing which would indicate such a thing. And as you check over the writings as well, you've no reason to believe it came from a change in hand either, else you'd expect to see at least some smudge marks from a left hand.

>>2182717
>>2182712
This could work if you wish to undergo the attempt, you can make a roll for the effort. A d100, to perform the ritual, and whatever you may wish to do to the body.
>>
Rolled 29 (1d100)

>>2182729
Clear away all traces of our struggle.
>>
Rolled 78 (1d100)

>>2182729
So he really did replace the previous owner... a mystery, indeed. Now what could this mean...?
>>
Rolled 11 (1d100)

>>2182729
>>2182731

Supporting this
>>
>>2182738
>>2182736
>>2182731
>78

So you prepare an open area of the room the body is in, making an inscribed circle as well as defiling the body with demonic markings. Eventually after the right preparation and enacting, you're able to manipulate the body as you see fit, in this case choosing to remove signs of the struggle. Just in case anyone should care to look for such a thing. Takes about half an hour, but after that you think the body looks rather convincing. Saturated with corruption, but unless you're planning on burying him at a church it shouldn't be a problem.
>>
>>2182765
Ok now leave him outside and summon a few wolves to maul him. Tomorrow report that he's been missing since last night to the sheriff or mayor or whatever this town has.
>>
>>2182765
Let's go dump the body nearby, call some wolves to leave it mangled
Can we corrupt one of the wolves so they blame it?
>>
>>2182772
>>2182773
Any specifics on how far to dump the body? Off the property, or somewhere on the grounds?

>>2182773
You can definitely pin it on a wolf in particular if you like, so they have a maneater to put down. May draw focus even from the killing.
>>
>>2182802
Somewhat near the main grounds, make it look like he died trying to get back
>>
>>2182802
Edge of the grounds. Old man wouldn't have time to run away from wolves.
>>
>>2182816
>>2182809
In your current form you won't be able to lug it that far, care to change, or manipulate Lucas into doing it?
>>
>>2182824
Lucas! Help me move this corpse!
>>
>>2182824
Either one sounds risky let's send Lucas, fuk it, we can erase his memories either way
>>
>>2182831
>>2182825
You manipulate Lucas again though, probably for something easy like him thinking it's a sack of potatoes or something. Either way, together you haul the body off across the grounds to the far edge of the forested side and dump it. You can send him back after that with some sweet lie, as you wait a little while for the others.

Creatures of the night, a few wolves gather to your bidding, very keen on greeting you. Loyal beasts, you stroke their fur, thank them for their service, and urge them to eat. The sight of them ripping into the body is all the more sign of your likely success. Not too much though, you want there to be something to find and to be identifiable. But to your heart's content the body is ripped as to be sure the sign of death.

After that, well, it's up to you how you proceed. Very late, early even, you imagine a long day ahead.
>>
>>2182838
Go to sleep, we'll find it in the morning.

"Well officer, he left around noon last night, he said he was going for a walk around the grounds. When he didn't return I thought he may have gone into town for the night. I never thought *realistic crying noise* he d-died."
>>
>>2182838
Check our surroundings then go home and take a bath in our newly acquired house and if Lucas is lucid enough have some celebration fun

A bit weird if you expected him out, or he went out, and you just happened to find him the next day.

>>2182862
Seems clear to you, the wolves can disperse as easily as they came though you mark one in case you need a scapegoat. After that you return home. Lucas is out cold after your constant waking him and sending him away, manipulations and hard work. You're totally free though to enjoy your new house, most of all the bath. An actual tub at that, not just a big wash basin. An actual metal tub in it's own bathroom, hot water, and cleaning supplies. An actual sponge, and actual soap!

This guy may not have been very wealthy, but he knew how to live well on his budget. That is, if indeed it was his budget. In any case you can enjoy a good bath and get clean, dwell in the hot water with your thoughts for a time. Such a marvelous feeling, the lady of your own little estate. You look forward immensely to when you needn't any disguise and can live and appreciate everything here available to you, as your true self. But in the meantime, just Amelie the human woman (by appearance at least) appreciating a nice bath. Anything particular you care to do, or settle back to bed after that, to wake up at a more reasonable time and figure out what to do about the dead body?
>>
>>2182898
Some midnight fun with Lucas
>>
>>2182906
Come on let the poor boy sleep.

>>2182898
Fun time with pushy farm girl almost best girl.
>>
>>2182935
She ain't here, it's just Lucas
>>
>>2182941
Oh shit she isn't. Well it's midnight here I'm going to bed. Much love, sex Lucas.
-Peace
>>
>>2182898
I don't think it's weird, and we didn't just happen to find him. He went for a late night walk, we realized the next morning he never came back, we went out looking and found a corpse.
>>
>>2182949
Peace
-Peace
>>
>>2182906
>>2182935
>>2182941
You consider letting Lucas sleep after constantly waking him up all night, but instead figure why stop now? So after the bath, you retire to bed with Lucas and wake him up for some fun. Not like he could complain anyway, and you've not had a chance at intimacy since that first time, so you have some fun together. A nice way to finish out the evening in celebration of, as you hope, becoming the new owner of the estate.

The next day though Lucas is exhausted after the worst night's sleep in ages. You jump up all spry and happy, ready for the day and feeling good early in the morning, but unless you push him otherwise he'll probably sleep till afternoon at least. But yes, a new day, what to do first?
>>
>>2183002
Let him sleep in we'll head into town to check on the girls and report the missing old man
>>
>>2183008
Agreed on checking the girls, but maybe we should wait till tomorrow for reporting the man?

After all, it would be weird if we said he is missing after only one day (supposing they can tell the date of his demise by looking at its corpse).

Now, which supplies would be valuable to us as a demon? I mean in things like alchemy.

Also, the which is like bug source of corruption, right?
>>
>>2183029
Yeah, probably should wait a bit
>>
>>2183008
>>2183029
You leave him to sleep then, as you have a quick breakfast, get dressed and ride the horse into town. It doesn't take too long to find the other two, Merryl having slept in and Mila not left the inn yet. You're not sure about reporting the death yet, but at least you can inform them that you've got proper accomodations now rather than just letting a room for the time being. Both are naturally quite happy with this news, though some logistics concerns for what they're supposed to do in the way of a job if the house is as far out of town as it is?

>>2183029

>Now, which supplies would be valuable to us as a demon? I mean in things like alchemy.

Not exactly sure what you mean by this, at least not the second sentence. As for Merryl (I assume you mean), yes she's been a witch for a number of years so is herself a walking beacon of corruption. Best she not go near any church, but just being near her you feel more powerful in your mortal form.
>>
>>2183049
Ok, did we also get lands and his money? Because if so, we should be able to life of having farmers work our lands, that is, if we don't go for crime and corruption, which I suppose we will.
>>
>>2183049
They can get a job that doesn't need them there in the morning, do we know the schedule of our job at the inn?
>>
>>2183095
You haven't really taken a chance to dig deeper in to what the former owner had, but as far as you know it was just the estate. From what you saw, there's probably enough unused land available to maybe have one farm, but it's not like there's one built and ready to produce, to your knowledge. Though of course there's other ways to make money off of the plot of land you own.
>>
>>2183117
Well a job like that is kind of a luxury. For your own job at the inn, if you're intending to keep it, you have to be there pretty much all day to be able to cook and serve for anyone who comes in or is staying there. In these times, structured shifts aren't exactly a common thing. If you have work, you're expected to work most if not all of the day pretty much.
>>
>>2183123
We should look for another job closer to our place if we can't negotiate anything with the owner at the inn
Also does Merryl know more things in alchemy other than drugs and stuff? Normal stuff we can sell
>>
>>2183132
Those are things she can sell though, she used to get work as just a mere healer or common ailment treater. She can also make minor magic items, though she’s never been able to really sell (market) those sorts of things. She’s capable of learning more of course but that’s just her current skillset.

As for your own work, you could maybe try to negociate with the owner if you really want the job but still want to commute from out of town. Otherwise you could specify what alternative job you may have in mind and search somewhere closer to home.
>>
>>2183169
Become alchemists.
Spread degeneracy with a designer drug.
>>
>>2183169
Well i want to keep the job, a lot of people must pass through an inn so we have a lot of potential to meet more people there and we'll get Merryl alchemist equipment when she moves in with us
For now they'll have to stay in the inn for a few days
>>
>>2183200
If you want to take the inn, then probably best to get used to living at the inn for the time being. Seems that’s actually the case with everyone, having a job. So you may end up owning the house now, but maybe not get use out of it for awhile. Oh well, strange ways and all that.

>>2183193
Well you personally can learn whatever you need to very easily thanks to your demonic aptitude, though Merryl would need a teacher or at least something to study from.
>>
>>2183215
I'll wait on the other anons opinion on this
Goodnight op
>>
>>2183231
I don't think it's that great an idea. We'll have to work basically all day, leaving us only the night to do our activities. And, since a lot of people walk in and out of an inn, the chanceof just straight up being outed as a demon is higher than usual. It's not a bad choice, really, but I'd like to consider our options first.
>>
>>2183848
So... Look for a place closer to us?
>>
>>2183868
Could take some time looking around for a job first. Otherwise, the inn is always open.
Really, a desk job would be nice. Copying documents or working at a library or something. Well, maybe... city's got to have an archive, right? Maybe there
>>
>>2183964
Working as an alchemist apprentice would help both Merryl and us, at some point we could make our own to sell them
>>
>>2183990
well, I know we're in ye olde fantasy setting, but how is alchemy viewed? Just a normal thing? Cast under suspicion? Something like drug dealing? moderated by law/church? Those kinds of things.
>>
>>2183996
We should ask op
>>2183215
Is alchemy a normal thing? Is healing in the same branch?
>>
>>2183964
Being a scribe is a pretty honest profession, not a lot of chance to corrupt people but certainly an inconspicuous job that’s less likely to get caught. Also easier hours depending on how well you work, and not as likely to discriminate against a woman.

>>2184018
>>2183996
Alchemists might give the craft a bad rap, but the practice itself isn’t seen as bad for the most part. People may regard it with suspicion and superstition, and certainly there’s cases where negative responses are warranted, but nobody can deny the practicality and use of the craft. Thusly, folks may not want to be your neighbor for risk of explosions or errant golems, but as long as you’re not doing blasphemous things then at the end of the day they’ll still come knocking for cures to their ills.

In the larger sense though, the (often) supernatural practice of alchemy is losing favor to the developing, practical science of chemistry. The typical and traditional “village alchemist” isn’t going to risk losing his job anytime soon, but institutions, royal academies, foundations and the like, are more interested in what a study of logic and convention has to offer rather than difficult and dangerous semi-magical practices.
>>
>>2184058
Are there any known ot reputable alchemists/healers in town?
>>
>>2184092
You can ask around, or go looking for yourself sure, with a roll. Might turn up nothing, might find a willing teacher.

Though for youself, alchemists tend to have some magical skill so it may be risky for you personally to get involved with one. But that’s only a chance, could just as easily be safe.
>>
Considering that we are literate, can do math, and have a noble's property, we should probably start working with merchant guilds and properties.

First, we search the mansion in search for the previous owner's funds.

In case we don't find them or they aren't a considerable amount, we get a loan. I would recommend doing do in a shady way, since the impurity of people working on such deals should let us influenciate them (right, op?)

Once we have this loan, we can enter the world of business and corruption, which is... kind of complicated.

The rough idea is to give the business that we support (because they are ours or pay a fee four or services) protection and contacts while dealing with the competence in ilegal and legal ways to raise our status as a noble.

Now, the thing that thanks to our nature, we can ensure loyalty without the need of investing great amounts of money or demonstrations of power, among the leaders, at least.

The objective would be to control every leader of importance and make a monopoly, giving us ridiculous founds and, thus, political influence. The trick staying hidden to the point in which we can fight the church from the shadows and thus leaving the people less protected from our influence.

At that point we would basically govern, and thus, be able to get a lot of souls.

Hell, if we run our territory well and treat the peasantry in a good and appealing way (devils like using tentativo, after all), we could basically be a nation run by the shadow (at least until our 'nation' could wisthstand all the other nations that would come after us should they learn we are a devil).

At that point we could basically just offer all criminals wither to day or become our servants, aka, give us their souls; as well as other methods, but I don't feel like writing everything I can think about.
>>
Also, we can just get some artisans or work es and let them work their craft for us in exchange of hosing and protection, you know patronage.

Of course, then we can make the work for free after their are corrupted enough.
>>
>>2184104
Merchant work was also an idea I had. Been a bit busy today so I couldn't do a right up, but it was similar to the way you were going.
See about doing some accounting for a merchant. Use our powers to pursuade his contacts and the like. Attempt to buy our means of production/but our other businesses. Use that influence to get an in with the nobles, while also using the money to pay off/build up our own mafia. Monopolies are fine in this era, so that's all we have to do. Then from there it would snowball.
Reason I went records first was because I was thinking of finding off the book deals and missing money to blackmail some merchant to take us as a part time apprentice while also still having access to the archives, since more information is always great.
Only problem is the vhurch, which would also have large sway, and the more power we have (unless we stick to the background and continue to puppet from the shadows) the more likely we are to get noticed. And even then, playing puppet master has its risks.
>>
>>2184122
Records/tax work also has the plus of seeing which nobles/merchants/peasants have been skimping out, and finding those that have been corrupted by vices or are on hard times (enough to possibly give their soul over maybe?). And once the corrupted upper class are weeded out, all that's left are those very good at hiding their vices (good puppets to take over) or pure souls.
>>
>>2184152
>>2184122
>>2184104
Either way, doesn't matter, right? Could be a merchant, corrupt whoever is working the tax office, or could work at the tax office, and corrupt a puppet merchant~~!
And, rather than having a private mafia, couldn't you propose having a privatized police force for the city? Dear nobles, I know that your coffers could be larger, so I have gathered some strapping young crimi- I mean, gentlemen, to squeeze out that tax money they owe you! And while they rot in jail, we can offer things for their souls~~! Even though they're going to die anyway. Unless they're useful. And we could toss a noble in the gulag too! Just have to turn the rest against just one, and we'd have our own pocket noble!
Speaking of nobles, there's still that lose end with the dead man... who was he? He's an entirely different person, it seems~~!
>>
>>2184184
I don't think any local lord's gonna be to happy about some newcomer shaking people down for taxes. How does he know your not cheating him?
>>
>>2184184
I suppose it doesn't.
>>2184203
I'd assume what he's talking about is getting on the good side of said local lord before doing so. Point out skimping on tax plans to him, corrupt him a bit, butter up his palms, assure him we're only doing this to help him, then present such an idea.
>>
So we're looking for an accountant job under a noble?
>>
I sure wish op would tell us when he has to leave
>>
>>2184504
I sure wish he would separate answers to questions and the story posts so its easier to catch up

So you’re looking for a writing position, are you aiming for a noble though or a merchant?
>>
>>2184775
I guess a noble?
>>
>>2184899
Make a roll for the search then, unless you have a specific lead in mind. You might get lucky, or at least discover an opening.

>>
>>2184923
Hmm, one that obviously isn't too related with the church.

And I would assume that nobles would have control over the guilds to they technically employ the merchants. So I will go for the noble.

Is this good enough to get a job from the local lord? That would be awesome.

Know, you don't know any by person, but with a roll like that you have a pretty good idea of where to look. The lumber seller you helped several days ago, Gaspard, has a fair bit of wealth from what you saw and probably has some connections.

>>2184993
You could get work from a particular noble, or try as high up as the predominant lord in this area, yes.
>>
>>2185007
Hit up Gaspard then for some contacts. Not the predominant lord, too prominent too soon.
>>
>>2185020
And check if there's any close to our place

Also anons we gotta sort the murder business out, are Mila and Merryl going to be living in the inn or the new place?
>>
>>2185048
Well, if they move in to the new place right now, might seem suspicious. But, if we were to say we asked our friends to help search for him... if we ever go that route of getting all the official documentation.

The original plan was the one you're sticking to. You already know someone, so best to go that way.

"Amelie, my dear! I take it visiting to Lucas's parents went well? How may I be of service to you, then?"

"Oh Gaspard, you wouldn't happen to be acquainted with any nobility in need of a scribe?"

A quick enough trip over to the lumber yard to find the owner, and ask of a favor. It's not such a steep one either, not as though he owes you anything but you're ever so innocent and sweet about it that he's only happy to help. As it turns out, being in the local business scene he does know a few folks whom might be open to a pleasant young lady around to manage paperwork. The choice is yours as to whom he could introduce you to;

>Corentin, a fairly successful farm manager whom owns a few steads in the area. He doesn't directly have a hand in controlling them and assigns people to do so, but he has a lot to keep track of and would welcome a secretary type to handle things so that he can take to his lucrative hobby of magical beast husbandry.

No magical beasts, they might be able to pierce our disguise with their magic. I think wine has more potential than textiles, plus some anon wanted drugs and this is close enough.

First option: no
>Margot, a widowed madam whom oversees the businesses of her late husband, mostly textiles for which there are a few workshops in and near town
This... This is kind of? Risky. Everyone needs clothes. Including nobles, the church, the peasantry... does she service all? Does she take specialty orders? Will we just be quietly working away in the shop, or be more in front of one of the stores? This one seems best for going from low to high, I think, unless it's a specialty kind of shop, or has special stores to go from low to high. This one has the highest chance of screwing up, but also the quickest to get at what we want, I'd think.
>Lorenzo, the closest in terms of location to "your" house though he's more of a retired fellow who in his spare time just manages a winery and vineyards. Some distance away, to the southeast, but probably the easiest workload and most carefree pace.
This seems good, but at the same time, I don't know exactly what religious connotations wine has here. Is wine related to the church at all? If so, does he make any for the church? Aside from that, it's a but far away, but really thr only ones who'd buy wines would be those with the money to afford it. Meaning merchants, nobles, and peasants who wish to give something to their romantic love interests. This one is probably the top to bottom route, but would probably be slower...
Option 3 seems best, but I'll hold my vote until others have chipped in.
>>
>>2185207
>No magical beasts, they might be able to pierce our disguise with their magic.

A very valid concern. May or may not be a risk but why take it?

>>2185273
>Will we just be quietly working away in the shop, or be more in front of one of the stores?

For the most part, her workshops and stores are for making large amounts of textiles for shipping off to trade, however she does sell to the local area and does some charitable work in supplying the needy with basics. So yes she does accommodate all buyers for the most part. If you worked for her you wouldn't be working behind a desk though, Margot herself is quite busy and enjoys a hand in running things so you'd be like her assistant going around with her to different places and keeping notes and handling paperwork so she doesn't have to.

>>2185273
Wine has a place in the church as well as for festivals, particularly of the lesser gods. And certainly Lorenzo supplies that, again often as charitable acts, but he sells mostly to those whom can buy. Also since he is himself a foreigner, he ships a lot back to his home country for sale there. The wines of the southern regions of this country are pretty famous and coveted, Gaspard himself merely relates that Lorenzo apparently always had a special taste for them so in his retirement came here to try his hand at the business itself.
>>
>>2185351
HMMMM
Both Lorenzo and Margot sound really good imho
What do y'all say anons?
>>
>>2185400
There are pros and cons to both. I need some info on their personalities, really. Which of the two are more likely to pet? Not care for situations? If we played the shy girl, would one of the two say 'ah, he's a nice guy, just go inside the church and hand off the bottle/clothes! I won't take no for an answer and he's a valued friend and customer!'
Not that we couldn't use our abilities on said employer, but I'd rather go with someone more amenable.
>>
>>2185409
>more likely to pet
I forget what I was trying to type there...
>>
>>2185400
The thing which may or may not be a dealbreaker though, to work for Lorenzo means traveling some distance. It's about a day or two ride to his place, according to Gasparde. So not a distance where you could just get up in the morning and be there for work by noon. You'd either have to get accommodations out there, or work most of the week and find days off to go back and forth, and if it wasn't obvious, your friends can't come with you. At least not all of them.

>>2185409
That's something Gaspard can't answer much to, since he's only met or dealt with them in passing. For what it's worth though, Margot is often enough in and around town so you could meet her and get an impression. Lorenzo, that's a bit more of a leap.
>>
>>2185421
Ehhhhh, Margot sound better to me now but i dunno about the other anons
>>
>>2185444
She does. The pros of being far and being in contact with the upper echeleon more often are kind of outweighed by travel distance, relations to the church. Can't exactly mess with his product without alerting the church, either, so that route is a but of a bust.
>>
>>2185456
>>2185444
Very well then, it sounds like you prefer to work for Margot? Have you an idea on how to introduce yourself and get a chance at the job? Gaspard can find you where she is and have you meet, but a good impression is on you to make.
>>
>>2185499
I have no idea. I mean, we can read, right, we are very good at calculations, our stamina is nothing to scoff at, we're a pretty face, so she doesn't have to worry about us turning away customers, we also happen to be persuasive... we also wouldn't be scared away from a heavy workload. We'd have to just keep it short. He said she was a busy woman, so giving her a while speech while she's busy probably is not a good idea...
Anyone else have any ideas? I'm not sure offering her any good or drink is a very good idea. 1, bringing food to a textiles place isn't something I'd consider good, and 2, I'm not sure she's accept or has particular tastes.

Well off these two, you rely on Gaspard to seek out Margot and take you to her, and as it turns out she's currently at a potter's store looking to buy a set of dishes as a gift apparently. They exchange a familiar word and he tries to put in the good word for you, but it's up to you to land yourself the job.

"Amelie then, is it? Gaspard here says you're skilled with letters, and you can read? And so young, at that."

"Yes madam, I have had a great deal of experience though I am but a commoner myself. I had hoped to earn a wage as to contribute to marriage expenses."

You speak all properly and show respect, curtsy and all. Speaking well of her, she seems to like this for sure, and you've at least got her attention with your story rather than her just dismissing you and only listening for Gaspard's sake. The thing you notice most however, she's got a definite darkness about her, enough that you can pick up on it and even sense a little about her. She definitely has pride from your deference towards her, but that's not it. Something wicked which she isn't even regretful over, or else it wouldn't be so prominent.

In any case, you've definitely got your foot in the door. Anything you want to try, or roll if you care to, in order to seal the deal?

>52

Well it's not terrible, maybe don't try to grab ahold of her soul off the bat, but you can at least sense what appeals to her and try to match that.

In the end you put on a good show for her, and she's pleased with the prospect of you as an assistant. She asks of course when you can start, how long you can work for, and how well you're hoping to be paid?
>>
>>2185971
... do we know what the rate of pay is? Damn, should have asked that from what's his face. Being able to read and write should at least equal to a high paying job, but we're starting with her and are 'unexperienced' along with basically having no connections. She might attempt to lowball or straight up shortchange us on pay. I'd be fine with taking a slightly lower than average pay to start, just because the connections are more valuable. As for work... I don't know? How long do we want to work? I doubt she runs around all day, but she'd probably leave us with a stack of documents or whatnot to go over after she's done wondering around. Does medieval fantasy land even have regular work ours? Do the task, dinish, we'll help if we're available after, but I must see my soon to be husband to prepare dinner for him or something like that?
>>
>>2185971
Tomorrow, we're available past midday since where we're staying at is out of town and we don't know the rates for an assistant, we'll trust her with our payment rate
>>
>>2185995
>>2186008
She's fine with tomorrow then, and if you can start earlier she can let you off earlier too. Like mornings, then get off afternoons. It'll mean having to get up extra early to be in town by the time she is though, but sleep is less of an issue for you. As for pay, well it sounds fair to you but you can't be sure of course because you've never had a job otherwise.

In any case, it seems you got the job yes. If you're planning on starting tomorrow, then you've the rest of the day free to yourself. Maybe not a bad idea to get some things which might help with the job but otherwise, your last day of freedom so to speak.
>>

>>2186042
What kind of job for her? She's mostly farming experienced, but under the assumption that she'll end up as another minion, your choice of job for her may be different. Merryl of course doesn't really need a job, she can support herself with her skills as-is.

>>2186047

>>
>>2186063
Well, you mentioned those other two jobs. We could we try and get her a job at the vineyard or working with animals, maybe?
Otherwise, we can try to just get her a job at a nearby farm. Or is our defense large enough to grow and sell some animals at home?

>>
>>2186096
>>2186087
Oh yeah, if you care to you could try buying some animals, a bunch of chickens maybe. The estate might not be set up for farming or have much room for it, but tending to a bunch of animals you can buy would be relatively easier and have much quicker returns.

That is to say, it’s not impossible that you could become self-sufficient or even make money on the property, with the right purchases and money use.
>>
>>2186135

>>
Earlier start today, going to resume here in a bit.
>>
>>2186159
>>2186189
You're content to spend the rest of the day with the girls, and seek them out. Merryl as it turns out was just wandering around town and getting used to civilization again after being away for many years, since she doesn't need a job and can subsist on her own. Mila by contrast, ironically landed herself a job as an assistant cook for the larger inn of town, after the former assistant cook never showed up to work. In meeting up though, there's not anything particular you have to see to after having already gotten some basic supplies for your own work.

You do think it worthwhile to bring up the idea of buying some animals though to Mila, who wouldn't mind that at all. She wasn't too fond of her job tending to livestock before, but that was when it was for other people's livestock. If they were her own or the collective "you's" then she'd be glad to. She echoes a similar sentiment, that getting a bunch of chickens at first could make up costs pretty quick, though she has always wanted to tend to some more supernatural livestock if possible.

The three of you are of course free to spend the rest of the day though in town as you see fit. Merryl is just happy to be there if a bit overwhelmed by all the people, while Mila loves it. "City" living, just what she always wanted!
>>
>>2187609
I was going to suggest getting Meryll supplies so she can start working on healing stuff but I'll hold on on that until we have a steady income

She would tell you no, that she's fine, but you can read her well enough. A longtime desire to see a theater production, as she's heard wonderful things of those however Rocheau, this town, isn't big enough for a proper theater. There is a stage at the town green but it's not exactly the same. Could still just go to a show though, you doubt she'd really discern the difference all that much if she's never been to a theater in the first place.

>>
>>2187873
Indeed the actors do, one actor in particular. Otherwise though it’s an enjoyable time, some actual mortal entertainment for you to appreciate. An interesting diversion from what you’re used to, some story about a fisherman losing his wife and boating across the sea with the help of an orcish pirate to find her. You think it could do well with a lot more cruelty, suffering and debauchery, but it does occur to you that’s your inner demon playing up. On it’s own you’re sure it’s plenty nice enough a story, and perhaps in time your appreciation of such things could become genuine. Merryl of course is simply enthralled the whole time and overreacts several times, shouting out to the actors in excitement over things the character wouldn’t be aware of or that she wants to happen. Though there’s others in the audience to do the same, but all in all she loves it and thanks you tearfully with a hug at spoiling her so.

In any case it’s a nice time, and lets up late afternoon, whatever next you care to devote yourself to.
>>
>>2187955

>>
>>2187955
Well, there's still the issue with the dead body. Not entirely sure what to do with that, or wether to deal with it now or later. Could head back, set up the basement for various things. There's so much to do now... i don't know where to start. There a library or public records place around?
>>
>>2187948
The only important figures to attend that you’re aware of (recognize) were the town mayor, and a minor noble family on an outing.

>>2187969
Sure enough you can send off Mila and Merryl then, telling them not to get too separated this time. You meanwhile focus on said actor before, wandering your way over to the stage, and with some looking around the preparation area at the back. It’s only a small, open building so you can just walk in as you notice a few folks doing. Mostly to give thanks or personally devote some coins. Is there a manner in which you care to approach the actor though? Maybe to give praise, or as some fawning fan? Or whatever else you may have in mind...

>>2187992
Indeed there is the body, the longer you leave it the more likely normal wild animals will come along and finish the rest. Though it’s not like anyone’s there beating down your door over the guy’s death. Maybe give it time, but then again maybe he really didn’t have any family left, or friends.

In any case, there is a library, mostly frequented by local magic practitioners as you understand it. The public records are kept by the church, however, but that’s not to say they’re impossible to reach of course. Just that you personally would have a hard time of going to get them yourself.
>>

Quite good, the fellow doesn’t suspect himself to be followed and you’ve only your clothes on so nothing much to distract or make noise. You follow him for awhile after he bids the other actors farewell for the day. Eventually he hits up a tavern down on the riverfront, a rather dirty and unpleasant place build out of the waterside basement of a building where you get a strong sense of corruption. From the general customer base, not like it’s a den of criminals but the folks down here, are not the friendliest of people.

In fact, although you tailed the actor well enough, you don’t make it far inside beyond a quick look before you get grabbed and pulled back out. A big orc fellow, his hand enough to grasp your whole shoulder and probably a bouncer, blocks you from reentry.

”You lost little girl? This isn’t the sort of place for the likes of you.”

>>
>>2188324
Um, i don't think so I'm fine with returning home
>>
>>2188371
Very well then, you find Merryl and Mila again and together rustle up some goods to take home. After that, well you can’t all ride the horse so you pack the goods for him to carry while the three of you walk with. It’s much longer this way but you can still reach the estate by nightfall, expecting and finding Lucas there to welcome you all. Merryl and Mila are absolutely dumbstruck by the house and the grounds, neither ever having seen let alone imagined such a lovely place. And it hasn’t even been done up yet. They both hug you happily with a cheer, both for dragging them out of the dirt where they had been and to a place such as this, though happy for different reasons.

After tending to the horse then and moving all the food and goods inside, you all can get used to using the kitchen now and make dinner for yourselves. A nice evening together in what may be your home, yes? Quiet and pleasant, and then a good night’s rest for work, no doubt.

>>
Whew, New Years is over now! Going to be able to resume again regularly now, continuing in a bit.
>>
>>2188487
You’re sure you can pass off the other two as help or guests, though you’re not expecting anyone to question them much anyway.

>>2190481
Over the course of dinner then you can have a decent conversation about everyone’s progress made so far. Most everyone has managed to land some work, with Lucas doing his usual work with horses, Mila as a cook at the inn and you as an assistant. Merryl will just stay to mind the house, hoping she doesn’t burn it down or sabotage you, while going about her usual witchy work. The hope is that you won’t all be working menial labor jobs indefinitely, but for the time being at least it’s a decent start.

So after dinner and cleaning up you take things easy for awhile, the others finding their own ways to occupy time. In particular you talk with Merryl till it starts getting late, and you figure to have her tied up which she doesn’t oppose of course. After that, well everyone would have retired to bed since there’s enough rooms, but you have an idea. It’s your house now, right? So why not live as such, and you decide to break in the master bed, bringing the other two along. Together you share a pretty intense time and certainly stir up a lot of corruption, before settling to sleep together, genuinely exhausted. Seems like your “improvements” of Lucas are really starting to show. Still all under your human disguise, but itself getting more powerful the more corruption you sow.

You’re awakened the next morning as usual by Merryl making a racket about needing to be untied. Getting up to do so, you leave the other two snug in the big master bed, of a mind to get right back but of course there’s things to do, a new day. Free to act as you are, but three of you have work now to look forward to...
>>
>>2193172
Well, we're going to have to see to merryl. And now that we have a semi-stable base, we're going to finally be able to see about acquiring those souls... don't know how though. Might as well head off to work, unless someone else wants to chime in with something.
>>
>>2193303
Nah, work is good
>>
>>2193303
Well there’s the consideration of how invested you want to be when you’ve got your own place. Whether you want to maintain an active mortal presence by having an job and going around town, or if you want to exercise and practice your demonic will and power within your private domain. Assumedly if you gather more friendlies, they could work for you to generate income and influence in town, or you just predate upon them demonically.

>>2193346
Work it is then, you want to get ready and leave as soon as possible or give someone else a chance to ride into town on your horse with you. A reminder that you have two, including a cart (from the former owner).
>>
>>2193399
I'm really just trying to figure out a way to get souls. So, may I ask the different methods used to acquire them?
>>
>>2193415
The most traditional, or at least the most common way is to offer someone something (like a deal) that they would exchange their soul for. Like they sign their soul away in a contract and you grant them a wish. Though a little more complicated since you’re material now.

Other ways are as simple as convincing someone to pledge or give their soul to you, whether it’s out of devotion, trickery, or assumed salvation. It was brought up earlier, like predating upon those to-be executed, the desperate might do foolish things like offer their soul to a demon in hopes of something better.

Lastly you can try to forcibly take a soul through sacrificial ritual, but that’s obviously harder and also not as effective as a willing transfer. Otherwise there may be other ways, if you’re creative to imagine other ways, but these are just the usual “common” options.
>>
>>2193448
Getting souls is hard...
Well, going to work sounds fine for now. Just to get our bearings on what's usual before delving into wicked deeds.
>>
>>2193458
Very well then, you get up and ready for the day, dressed and all. You’ll take your horse while Mila and Lucas can take the other when they have to get into town.

Not so long of a ride on your own, and finding a place to put him up for the day. You show up to the agreed upon place then with plenty of time to spare, and when Margot does arrive she appreciates your being there on time. Seeing you ready, she goes over just a basic itinerary for the day before departing, assumedly with you in tow. Pretty great for your first day! You impress Margot with your skill to keep up with her even without prior experience, and how quick you are to learn. What she doesn’t know is how much you’re learning overall, such that by the end of shadowing her you could probably do her job as well as she could. A few more days, and you could do even better.

In any case you accompany her for much of the day, first through town and then via a carriage to a few outlying workshops. Rather than business secrets or practices though, you’re much more interested in anyone you could exploit. As expected you come across a few needy people whom Margot isn’t much interested in helping, but in particular a few workers and work/shop owners or foremen whom seem pretty corrupt. None so much as Margot herself though, but it’s a good chance to give you some perspective.

Unaware of your greater schemes though, she’s merely thankful for your presence, and very appreciative. Enough that she offers to take you along to a fancy early dinner type arrangement. Another chance to get to see a side of the business she also handles. Entirely optional of course, she understands if you’ve other things to do.

Question, do witches deal in souls? Any other kind of being? Or is it solely demons? You did mention there were other ways to lose ones soul, so....
>>
>>2193672
I say we go, we get a chance to reveal what she's hiding and next time we could get to know these corrupt men
>>
>>2193695
>>2193683
You can ask her about it easy enough, it’s just a meeting between a few privileged families at one of their houses in town, not a proper event or gathering just like a little social meet and eat. If you can’t make it because you’ve got something else to do or would rather not without your “husband” that’s fine. It’s not something required for the job anyway, mostly she’s just going to meet her son and see how he’s been handling things on the other side of the business.

>>2193683
Some witches deal in souls sure, really anyone or anything could. Demons and some others are particularly known for it, but they’re certainly not exclusive to the practice. The most likely after that, are beings which wouldn’t have a soul normally and so seek them. In any of these cases you could track them fairly easily given your own inherent hunger for souls.
>>
>>2193766
I see. well that should be fine then.
Still seems pretty suspicious on who could show up, but It'll let us in on who's who and who to influence/corrupt
>>
>>2193766
And keep an eye on the servants too, maybe we'll find another diamond in the rough
>>
>>2193772
What’s the harm then? You accept to tag along, wouldn’t want to make a bad impression on your new employer, and so not too long after returning to town you find yourself following after her unto a relatively more upscale home. Must be of some family whom has a business within the settlement itself or else they’d likely be living outside otherwise.

Fortunately it seems most of your worries had been misplaced, and it’s not too many people nor is it too formal. Just three families about, plus you, Margot and her son Roland whom you’re introduced to. On this Margot is quite eager, and you get a sense of her trying to at least get him interested in you. Maybe not so quick to play matchmaker, but you’d guess to make a connection with someone outside his usual group of acquaintances. A bit spoiled because of how Margot dotes on him, but he seems pretty competent overall you think. Nice enough to you at least, even if it’s just to be polite.

The other guests, nothing too radical other than what you’d expect of local minor nobility. Some folks less upstanding than others, though one lady you get a very strong pang of evil from. Not as much corruption (though she’s probably concealing that) but actual evil, from you to her, recognizing that. Strange, she seems so elegant and proper, and pretty to boot.

Mostly though you can keep to yourself, unless you have something particular in mind.

>>2193841
Yes, the servants. There’s a few in and out. If you’ve got a particular eye to them, you can make a roll. See if there’s any who stand out.
>>
Rolled 18 (1d100)

>>2193972
Evil? Mind explaining what defines evil in this sense?
>>
>>2193987
Well corruption in the practical sense means committing sinful acts, usually without regret. Something evil though in this case is near enough irredeemable. Not that an evil person cannot be redeemed but that they either refuse or choose not to be, or that they could not be of their own volition. Usually a life of wickedness and sin without remorse leads down this path, rather than just a corrupt person whom sins now and then but has some sense of moderation.

In this particular case though, a demon for example could abstain from sin but in their existence they are simply evil by nature, like their very composition is evil down to their flesh and bones. Thus is the situation here; this noble lady present may be direly sinful, but aside of that her very physical form itself is evil. At least by the measure of the theology you hail from, like if either of you walked into a church you both would suffer. Perhaps alarmingly, chances are high that as you can detect a fellow evil entity, so too can she towards you. A possibility, though if so she is choosing not to act differently despite this.

>tl;dr something like muder may be sinful the whole world over, but to your particular theology of angels and demons, you fall on the “evil” side of the scale as does this other lady
>>
>>2194001
That... huh. Interesting. Very interesting... we'll have to make note of her.
>>

Nothing much from the servants, other than a fellow whom you can tell is stealing things from the household, and a girl who has some sort of romance with a noble son. Nothing serious though.

In any case you just keep to Margot’s side then, and take note of things as she expects, and keep an eye out for anything of interest. The little event doesn’t last too long, that she’s planning on leaving after a couple hours. Letting you know, if there’s anything last you wanted to do before leaving you can. Though, since she’s considering that it for the day, it’s not like you have to leave with her when she does.
>>
>>2194025
Let's ask her about that woman. And one of the other guests, just to make it seem like there was more than one interest point.
>>
>>2194029

>>
>>2194033

>>
>>2194033
>>2194029
To answer your curiosity, you ask Margot about a few of the guests including the one in particular. The others you don’t much care about, but it’s Lady Bourdillon that’s your focus. Margot speaks quite highly of her, though you can sense already that much of it is something like false memories which she’s simply reciting when asked. Roland is the same way, and you’re pretty sure the other guests would be too.

Hypnosis? Magic? You’re not sure but the suggested story is that she’s a fine and fancy young lady whose noble father is fighting “in the wars” abroad. Apparently they’ve all known her for years but their memories of these times are vague at best, whatever that may mean...
>>
>>2194038
Hmmm
She's either another demon or a mindflayer, or something that can mess with people's mind which makes me worried but she could be a valuable asset if handled properly

Do we have any mind-magic negating abilities/spells?
>>
>>2194914
If you can exert your influence over someone, then you can manipulate their mind, including negating the effects of it from others. Unless the cause is from a power greater than you, but you seriously doubt this other woman is like, a greater demon or something akin.
>>
>>2194959
so... as an evil creature, she managed to worm her way into minor nobility and do what we wanted to do before we did it? Bah... Well, she might be an obsticle, an ally, or a non-issue... but We need more information. We always need more information. Arg.
>>
>>2195009
>>2194959
I say wr go over to her and try to see what's up, worse case scenario she makes us believe she's our friend
>>
>>2194959
Aaaand, caught up!
>>2195068
Well, if shes evil, she probably feels we are too, right, QM? So might as well talk to her. There are so many ways this could go wrong, but can't do anything without taking risks~~!
>>
>>2195077
I think I said, but it’s a possibility that she can similarly sense that you are evil. If she can however, she did nothing towards that and acted normally.
>>
>>2195087
Got It! But aside from ignore her, not really much else to do. So I want some plot, wether it be bad or good, by at least meeting with her. Who knows? She could wind up being business like or some such. Worst we could do is make her our enemy. Which would be terrible and suck and we'd have to restart somehow, but I think we could profit from each other.
>>
>>2195087
Lets wait and give her a chance to approach us.
>>
>>2195109
Oooh, yeah, we should let her approach us first.
>>
>>2195116
>>2195109
Well you can wait and hope she approaches you, are you staying or leaving with Margot however?
>>
>>2195141
well, waiting a day or two for a response from her seems fine before confrontation.
Leaving with margot sounds good. Got to be courteous, after all. Give us another chance to talk and learn about her, and if she'll let something slip.
>>
>>2195146
Well leaving in this sense of leaving the little get together, not like she’s taking you home with her... unless you try for something like that.

If you want to try and weasel something from her though or her son, you can describe your attempt and make a roll. Or just leave and go do your own thing, you’re not on the clock any longer so to speak.
>>
>>2195161
ah, alright, better to just head home then.
>>
>>2195161
It's tempting but i dunno
>>
>>2195184
>>2195163
Nothing wrong with playing it safe then, as you go get your horse and then return home. The distinctly weird feeling that you’re being followed and watched though.

In any case you arrive home to the expected warm welcome of the others. Normally you wouldn’t get there after Lucas and Mila whom have “normal” jobs working all day, but that get together kept you. They’re both taking it easy though after a long, first day while Merryl ostensibly cooks for them but is relieved when you get home because she can hardly cook to save her life and was hoping you’d return home soon enough to save her from shame and disgrace.
>>
>>2195190
If we feel like we're being watched, then we're being watched. Anything we can do about that with our demonc powers?
Let's save dinner.
>>
>>2195190
>being followed and watched
So, she probably does know! What to do~~?
But first, save dinner! And teach her how to cook... she's a witch, alchemy and cooking are two halves of the same whole! She should know how to do this kind of thing!
>>
>>2195190
Let's help and teach her if we can and keep an eye on the windows
>>
>>2195205
>>2195203
>>2195196
Well at the very least you can save dinner and try to show her how. She’s not a demon though, nor a particularly great witch so learning will take time as you’d normally expect. In any case together you make a pretty decent dinner for which Merryl gets the credit, and you all enjoy yourselves.

Well, for the most part. You’re of course paranoid about being watched and trying to keep an eye out. The weird thing is that it’s not as if you were being like, physically stalked by someone. You’d be able to sense them if they were, same with something supernatural like if it were a ghost. Hence why it’s a little disconcerting, you’re not afraid because what would you have to fear, but it’s a little worrisome that you’re not able to make sense of it. All the while you ponder ways to impede it perhaps, and certainly there are ways you can think of... if you knew what the source was. Just the sense that you’re being watched isn’t enough to do anything about, unless you go as far as an obscuring ritual where you quite literally shroud yourself or the house in supernatural darkness.

The others at least are blissfully unaware, talking among themselves and asking how the day was. You notice Merryl in particular, getting along well enough for her, a positive change you can tell from her reserved self before being made to spend time with Lucas and Mila. They’re friendly enough and it’s rubbing off on the witch.
>>
>>2195259
I don't know the kind of magic they have here... Maybe some kind of scrying orb or spell? It's localised on our person... hmm... maybe we can shift it on to something or someone else? Or we could just deal with it.

Or take a brief jount to the forest. If whoever's spying on us knows we're off alone and waiting, they might show iup
>>
>>2195269
Going out in the forest is a bad idea. The guy we killed is still out there! Go somewhere else secluded.
>>
>>2195269
Supporting this, we should see if they try to contact us
>>
>>2195315
>>2195308
>>2195269
So the idea seems to be to promt an interaction, but maybe not out in the woods randomly? Or take the risk?
>>
>>2195316
Someplace secluded, but I'd she tries something then it would look bad on her. Like a park or something.
>>
>>2195323
A bar could work.
>>
>>2195331
>>2195323
Well it’s already nightfall. Unless you want to ride into town again to pick a spot there, either your own courtyard or somewhere on the grounds of your estate are the best chance at seclusion.

Though maybe a bar dive isn’t the worst place to meet a spy.
>>
>>2195336
Well... I don't know. Anyone else want to chime in?
>>
>>2195336
I say either in the forest or the state grounds, maybe announce we know something's out there
>>
>>2195355
>>2195341
Out in the garden then, a fair middle ground. You make up an excuse for going outside with a lantern, and go for a little walk. Finding your way among the little gravel path some distance away from the house, among the dead cultivated plants overgrown with wild ones and weeds, you find an old decaying bench and wait for awhile for your spy.

Admittedly it’s pretty boring but you get the sense of being watched. It takes awhile to figure out for sure since there’s definitely no one there, but you’d think it would be more obvious if it were magic. You feel like slapping your head then when you get the sense for the real thing; a bat. You only even become aware of it because you can control creatures of the night, being a demon, so you notice the bat resisting your influence when you get bored trying to control things. That explains why you weren’t able to detect a person, nor magic, it’s just a mundane bat being controlled.

You can of course try speaking to it or interacting with it if you wish, but as far as you can tell it’s just a normal bat. The one holding the leash so to speak, is probably waiting for it to return.
>>
>>2195441
Suppose we could tie a note to it. Don't know what to write though. 'Hello, would you like to talk, rather than spying on me?' Or something.
... perhaps shes a vampire?
>>
>>2195447
Supporting, add something like "we could work together you know?"
>>
>>2195456
>>2195447
Yes that could very well work if you’d like to do that, just write something along the lines of wanting to meet?
>>
>>2195477
Something like that sounds good~~!
>>
>>2195477
>I don't know if you're the same one from the meeting but given your ability to control that bat I'm sure we could work together or at least peacefully coexist, you could even come here during the night if you feel like it
>>
>>2195491
>>2195504
Very well then, you use your power to enact your schemes further. You can’t control the bat belonging to another, but you can just “blast” it with your will and cause it to flop to the ground. Then you just grab it, bring it inside, write and fasten the note to it and then let the animal go.

Not a bad answer to a potential problem you think, as you recline in the nice big chair in the study. So assuming that matter to be dealt with then, how do you care to spend the rest of your evening? The others are busy cleaning up after dinner, and will find things to do unless you involve them.
>>
>>2195553
I suppose we could talk to merryl. Not on her plans, but to get her out of severe incompetence range. Although that might be preferable for now...
Or we could... wait, no, that's just asking to get us kidnapped/shanked. I was going to suggest going to the poorer areas of the city at night, but...
>>
>>2195553
Push Merryl into lesbian sex under the guise of a girls-only bath :^)

Um, we could hang with Merryl and try to find a cookbook so we can both learn

>>2195575
That's a good idea if we want to get raped and recruit our rapist and there must be a lot of corrupt/fucked up people there too, it's a good idea but for another day when we don't have to meet a potential ally
>>
>>2195583
Find an ogre/half orc body guard, added to the list.
>>
>>2195575
Nothing stopping you from making a little rat’s nest for yourself in the poor part of town, to come back to time to time, and corrupt from there.

As for Merryl’s incompetence, well unless you act to manipulate and improve her, some people are just inherently incompetent.

>>2195583
Yes you could just spend the time with Merryl trying to “learn” some “””things”””. If you want to get corrupt though, well you’ll have to plan it out, how such a situation plays out.
>>
>>2195601
So, next time we can we go downtown to get raped and recruit :^)
>>2195614
Her incompetence makes her Merryl, when we get her soul back we could try something

I got an idea but did the owner have cookbooks and stuff?
>>
>>2195626
The study has a small library’s worth of books, so yes you can easily find a few cooking manuals.

>>2195601
For what it’s worth, you can always improve Lucas to be physically competent and skilled enough to make a formidable bodyguard. Unless you want to abandon him in favor of a newer and better champion.
>>
>>2195630
He's our escapegoat should we get caught, our bodyguard will be an orc so no one suspects the above average everything attributes
>>
>>2195630
Lucas is our front. He's the 'good' guy. We take him to do shady dealings, that ain't so great. Doesn't mean we cant beef him up though.
Better to keep shady people on the shady side.
>>
>>2195635
>>2195642
Very well then, looking for a mortal bodyguard it is, next chance you get. Probably easy, if for example you wanted an orc fellow, that you could make your disguise as an orc lady.

Anyway, so spend the rest of the evening just try to help improve Merryl’s cooking and your own in the process? An then to bed for an early night’s rest?

>Gib compliments
>Let her stew
>Make sure things get messy so we have an excuse to go take a bath together

>>
>>2195670
Incompetence will surely result in such a thing even without our aid!
>>
>>2195670
>>2195698
Why not take a chance to learn some and make further use of your new house? So you get the water warming up while you take to the kitchen with Merryl, and break into one of the cooking manuals with what supplies you have. She isn’t aware of what your scheme is so cooperates, though you ever so sweetly and innocently work your way to standing right behind her, against her so that you can instruct and physically guide her with your own hands, your own body. She accepts the help but as close as you remain and the contact you keep with her, unnerves her terribly and stirs up such complicated and frustrated emotions that she can’t deny. Worse because she knows that you’re aware of them.

She starts off alright, but your presence and contact making her nervous and clumsier than usual, just makes a big mess of things. You of course complement her and tell her it’s alright, but it does nothing to make her feel better or settle her feelings, when you do things like get some spilled flour or jam off of her with a lick and a kiss here and there. The perfect chance to use the bath now, yes? The water should be hot and ready.
>>
>>2195734
Yeah, sure, why Not?
And after that we can work on possible defenses. What can we set up that would tell normal people "Don't notice me" or "go away?" Or hide corruption in general?
>>
>>2195734
Of course!
Take her by the hand and keep teasing her on the bath!
It's a one man bathtub or is it big enough for more people?
>>
>>2195749
It could fit two people comfortably, or three people snugly. For now it seems just the two of you though? Merryl can’t really refuse you, as you take to the bath together and wash clean. She clearly eases up once in though, as you come to sense why; it’s probably the first real bath, with hot water, that she’s had in years. You’ve an interest to tease her, but she cleans up well which ends up occupying your focus.

>>2195745
Defenses, what kind? Like personal ones?

If you don’t want to be noticed or avoided, that’s something you can impress upon other people, better if you’ve a source of corruption around you like some friends or servants. Some items from the Hellscape could also help if you care to bargain for them.

Though the surest method of all would be to steal a soul and adopt a true human form, rather than a disguise. It would completely obscure your nature, but there would also be some drawbacks.
>>
>>2195828
Argh. Always back to this soul business. Getting souls is hard. If only it were easier... also, drawbacks?
Well, time to finish up for the day.
>>
>>2195828
Hug her and tell her we're here for her
And then turn in for the day
>>
>>2195835
Drawbacks, well the process entails more or less becoming human, so you’d have all the drawbacks a typical mortal would have. So no direct demon powers, the chance to actually suffer physical harm, things like that. But, nothing stopping you from entering a church, for example.

>>2195837
So you share a nice moment together, a close connection, then go through the motions of tying her up for sleep. You retire to bed shortly after, finding a spot to snuggle next to Lucas, Mila on the other side.

Next day then, your usual wakeup call of Merryl stirring up a ruckus in order to be free of her bonds. Though you can go about whatever business you please.
>>
>>2195874
Check around the house for any response of the bat controller and we should probably go report the owners disappearance
>>
>>2195902
Seems fair.
Is there a concept of adventurers of people who'd accept quests here? Might be avle to pull up a job listing on some big fellow we could slowly corrupt to our side.
>>
>>2195902
Not as though you’ve set up a perimeter about your “domain” but as far as you can tell, no one or nothing has been by the house. You can set Merryl on it though, to search about while you’re gone.

In the meantime then you can get up for the day, get ready and head into town. Take your horse, be there for your job later.

>>2195930
>>2195902
How do you care to report the former owner’s disappearance then?

As for adventurers, you can imagine there’s some around. Maybe not in Rocheau however, but wandering mercenaries are a common enough thing. Big fellows, local bullies will never be in short supply though. Depending on what you’re looking for, and how tough or skilled, your effort could make all the difference. Be that just putting up a job listing, going looking for yourself, or some other method you could imagine. Or just summon one up from the Hellscape, however you please to seek a busybody.

The situation with the documents is one thing, but it’s unlikely that the sheriff for example needs to know or would care about any of that. Paperwork and the like is fodder for the local notary, the sheriff just cares about crimes. Well, supposedly. The excuse to him isn’t the one, or even the version you need to go by with anyone verifying any documents. At least not the whole version.

Supposedly cares about crimes... hmmm... well, if he's as corruptable as most law enforcement seem to be, we may be able to do something with that...
>>
>>2196247
Let's go over the basics. 1, we met him recently. 2, he said that, since we were recently married, he'd sell his house to us. 3, one night, he just went out and didn't come back, and we're worried about him.

Saying that we'd get his house is just a telling as not saying anything about getting the house. It's honestly really difficult to come away from this without seeming guilty in the eye of the law. Rather, it'd probably be easier to 'get to know' the law enforcement first, and then report the incident in a couple of days, maybe... I don't know. That might just cast more suspicion.
Well, the truth is the truth. I suppose if we play up the innocent maiden act...
>>
>>2196256
Eh
This sounds better
>>
>>2196258
>>2196256
>78

So you decide to just play it innocent and sweet as usual. Folks, guys, are always less likely to suspect a simple young lady who is maybe a bit of an airhead, but kind and pretty. At least that seems to be your impression. So you seek the local authorities in town, which isn’t much just a local sheriff who rustles up guards and help sometimes to deal with crimes. You present your case to him and the situation you’re faced with, and...

”Ah well I’m sure he’ll turn up eventually. Maybe I’ll get around to it, but we’re very busy lately with headless rider terrorizing the roads. I’m sure by then... well, his next of kin will show up eventually? If not, I suppose the estate is yours unless the local baron has something to say about it.”

A bit underwhelming, considering how worried you might have been. It seems the authorities as represented by this fellow, don’t much care. Certainly not enough to mount some kind of investigation or anything. You get the impression this isn’t even strange, after all for the most part in these times most problems just get dealt with by the people involved. There’s little in the way of a “police” force or anything like that, as you’ve seen, just the sheriff really trying to keep track of things with help from the city watch or guards levied by nobility.

A weight off your shoulders at least, perhaps. Anything else you want to do to possibly solidify your hold over the estate, or just get to work?
>>
>>2197070

>>
>>2197070
headless rider? who is this headless rider? Should we be worried? Is tihs rider a murderer? If he is, do you think he might have done something to the man we're searching for?

I suppose we could continue to play the ditz and ask what could we do to the officer. And say we'll come back if he doesn't return, sometime in the future.

This rider feels like it might relate back to that noble from earlier...

Also, this lackadaisical attitude... There's potential here. We should make not of him as a point of interest.

When are we planning on getting that Orc bodyguard or safehouse at downtown/ the slums

Tonight after work?
>>
>>2197111
I'm now worried about that headless rider deal. Getting a bodyguard at night is a risk. Let's ask our employer. She might have some connections and know where to find some good meat shields.
>>
>>2197086
What a silly question, you have work everyday you slave.

>>2197088
You should be worried if you have a head, so the sheriff says. You feel safe in assuming it to be a dullahan, an evil supernatural being. Not of the same theology you are though, so you would be at odds. Like two school bullies passing each other by in the hallway; could get in a fight, but best to save the energy for the nerds.
>>

HA. Maybe we should get it under our employ... would be great. Hey, that could be our bodyguard! Except it's also an evil creature... Ugh...

Eh, not so great. You perform the job well enough, but hit a major roadbump when Margot has charity matters to see to at the church, and naturally you cannot accompany her. You have to make up some excuse about why you can’t, which she buys, but it doesn’t make her any less cross about you shirking your duties. She’s the sort to be bothered by that, so even by the end of the day you can feel she’s still bitter about that and will remain so.

Only slightly does she lighten up when meeting up with her son, again trying to shove you together. Otherwise though, no fancy get together today, you finish up the normal expected time of late afternoon, free to act.
>>
>>2197201
Can we fish out some extra info about that fake noble lady?
>>
>>2197201
We need souls. Anons have been suggesting offering deals to prisoners, let's see if we can visit whatever passes for a jail here.
>>
>>2197201
Alright, let's fish up that todo list:
Get souls
Get a bodyguard
Find out about that fake noble
find why and how the handwriting changed
get to know the nobles
find some scum to get some underworld connections going
get an in with the legal system to get a soul farm going, maybe through that officer.
get in contact with our associates down below, preferably after we've gotten some souls
get witches soul back and get her to not be completely incompetent.

so, so much to do...

guess we could go back to the officer guy, see if he wants our help dealing with paperwork, since he seems to be on edge. could help us get an in... Not sure if that's exactly what he needs help with though.
>>
>>2197220
That is certainly a todo list. Forgot to add "have fun" with our three roommates, turn Lucas into an Adonis incarnate, and upgrade ourselves to have more power~~
The noble lady is important, but I'm sure we won't rdig up anything on her by just looking for information. Prisons a good place to start as any
>>
>>2197208
You can certainly try, your proximity to Margot at least is giving you some small influence over her. You can make a roll to try and squeeze anything else out.

>>2197211
There is a little brig here in town yes, if you want to go and visit.

>>2197220
A job change to helping the sheriff? He certainly looks like he could use a secretary, if you were interested in such a role. Maybe have to make a case though, as dealing with crimes even by proxy (through documentation) is no business for a lady.
>>
>>2197242
would that count as a job change? We have some free afternoons, thought we could just drop in and ask if we could help out from time to time...
>>
>>2197252
Oh if you’re just devoting more of your free time then that’s no problem. I mean apart from convincing him in the first place.
>>

>>
>>2197267
Well, we could always try~~
And if we were to make him some soup or pass him a drink (with a little something special added), as a thanks for defending this town against this new menace, well, we just want to show our appreciation by helping out when we can, right? And since we're helping out, going down to the prison cells on occasion wouldn't stand out, since we're just confirming the documentation!

Well, while sitting in the carriage with Margo and Roland, you can weasel pretty much whatever truth you want out of them. About Lady Bourdillon, for sure you can sense that they’ve have false memories suggested to them by her, and what you can glean of the truth is that she’s actually a relatively recent arrival to town. Like this year, rather than residing here many years now. Also you can tell that it’s not a magical means of manipulation by the lady, just plain old supernatural. So some sort of ability or power she is able to do naturally, not by means of magic.

Beyond that, specific things you want to know you can ask (not literally out loud to her in the carriage but just specify) and you’ll probably find the answer.
>>
>>2197299
If we're asking subtlely, darker aspects of her life, things she is ashamed of.
>>
>>2197299
yeah, starting to really think that vampire theory of mine is starting to come together. Silver, water, mirrors, onions? guess we could ask if she has special wines that she drinks that she won't share, or if she's been out in the sun without an umbrella or the like.
I might be on the wrong track here, but best to get it out of the way.
Church officials... well, that just makes life infinitely harder. guess we'll have to check on their usual schedule, or do it near night time.
>>
>>2197299
This
>>2197302
What is that which we can feel about her
>>
>>2197299
Also does she know where she lives?
>>
>>2197326
Yeah, that seems to be the obvious question we all skipped over...
>>
>>2197302
Well with that 96!

She’s not really ashamed, but you get the sense that she bumped off her late husband to take over his businesses. His business partner too, whom she was having an affair with, so she could take the whole thing. She’s still bitter though because it had to pass to her son, as a woman she couldn’t really take over that way. At least not without loss of success or suspicion.

>>2197306
It’s not that there’s church officials there right now, or even that often. It’s just that, if you’re trying to work there, then the chances of crossing paths are much greater.

>>2197326
Where Margot lives or Bourdillon? Margot, yes, the other, a blank is drawn. Seems she’s never had a party or gathering at wherever she lives. Supposedly it’s “somewhere in town” though.
>>
>>2197356
Alright check out the brig when we finish the ride. We just need one soul and we can make that perfect disguise, followed by the donating hours for more souls.

Later start looking into the deaths of Margots husband and his business partner. If we find evidence leading to her we can use it for blackmail.
>>
>>2197377
perfect disguise, but plenty of drawbacks. Well, we could pass ourselves off as a pretty powerful witch, at least.
>>
>>2197383
There are drawbacks, but it seems pretty worth.

>>2197356
Once we use a soul to adopt human form, how easy is it to unadopt human form? Do we lose the soul? Also if we die in human form are we banished back to the Hellscape?
>>
>>2197383
Unless it’s the soul of a powerful witch, not really. You’re basically stealing the identity of the soul you’re stealing. Also of course, if you sin as that form then you’ll corrupt yourself and it won’t be a very good disguise. It’s more like being “born again” as a clean slate (relatively, like stealing a blackened soul won’t do you any good for it) that is impervious to perception, but after that it all depends on how you live as that mortal life. If you get all freaky deaky demonic, then what was the point, right?

>>2197377
Anyone in particular you’re after in the brig? Like are you looking for your guard maybe, or just seeing who’s who? If you’re hoping for something, you can roll for criminal “quality”.

>>

To change back would be a ritual, and yes it would expend the soul. I suppose you could, with enough souls, you could just keep switching back and forth though. Though with those souls they could go towards something else maybe.

Dying in the truly mortal form doesn’t send you back to the Hellscape though, no. Only banishment/exorcism, or something which can harm you as a demon can do that.

>>2197414
It’s the same as basically becoming perfectly mortal, not just a disguise. So none of the weaknesses of being a demon but none of the strengths.

So after work you make your way over to the town brig, not a particularly big place because of the size of Rocheau, and how punishment is handled in these times. But there’s a couple occupied cells. Mostly drunkards, troublemakers, the town rapist, but most interestingly perhaps to your purposes a highwayman guilty of various crimes including murder. He’s likely to be publicly executed but there’s talk of him being transferred to a city where his crimes are more well known. Still up in the air though.
>>
>>2197590
really? Ah, alright then.a highway man, hm? Well, not sure exactly what we could offer him in return for his soul. We could get him... not transffered? A last meal? I don't know. Perhaps a chance to escape? Anyone?

I'm going to be busy for the next few hours. See you in a bit, or tomorrow depending how long it takes to haul all this crap...
>>
>>2197590
Chat him up. See what he's willing to give us in order to be sprung from prison. Might want to shapeshift a bit first so no one recgnizes us now or later.
>>

>>
>>2197605
>>2197619
>>2197603
Freedom seems like a pretty good offer, though how honest do you want to be with him? Are you trying to lure him in and then trap him, or ask for his soul up front in exchange for freedom?
>>
>>2197640
Ask him what hes willing to give! If he says his soul we'll say what could we do with that? But accept anyway~~!
>>
>>2197649
Support, maybe it'll work
>>
>>2197649
He does a “name your price” spiel if you can free him, though he does have a decent stash of loot hidden away. You get the sense that he’d probably betray you and ditch the first chance he gets, though he’s still under the impression that you’re just some naive girl on her own. Unless of course you could continue to provide some... value to him after freeing him.

Also it goes without saying that his name your price, goes on the assumption that you’re a normal young lady and not a supernatural entity.
>>
>>2197686
Good? Why would I need Gold? You can do better than that... I'm not interested in the material. I prefer contracts.
We could name drop the fake noble to see what happens? How about it~~?

Well you can most certainly alter your appearance to be more intimidating and give him a reason to believe you, and you do raise a strong point; he’s probably going to burn anyway so why not postpone that?

He just wants to know, if he gives you his soul then, assuming it to be possible and this isn’t all just some ruse, what are you going to do with it. That is, he’s reluctant to give it over if it’s only to postpone things. You sense, he has or wants to have some hope that you’ll treat his soul better than it would be otherwise, in the afterlife.

You’re a merciful demoness, right?
>>
>>2197860
What are we going to do with It? Conquer hell~~!

Well, maybe not that goal, specifically, and A doesn't quite correlate to B, but us is getting stronger by using his soul would lead to us getting higher status in hell, which could lead to us leading it~~!

But really, his soul will probably be safe, he has no need to worry!
>>
>>2197873
Supporting!
>>
>>2197860
Tell him we'll treat his soul nicely.

Then throw him down to our supporters. Lmao what a sucker.
>>
>>2197906
>>2197877
>>2197873
Well he has no reason to doubt you of course! He says he’ll do it if you can spring him first then. He’s not going to trade it away, for you to just walk out and let him be executed anyway. If you are what he assumes you are, then you should have no trouble making sure he doesn’t ditch you after.

So how are you going to bust him out? And of course, how you plan on actually getting his soul? You could simply perform a willing exchange and own it yourself, or have your underlings draw up an infernal contract. The former is like putting the soul in your pocket and making it “yours”, the latter is like getting it insured at the back. Maybe more formal but not as easy or immediate.
>>
>>2197956
Did we have any spells for locks? I don't know if that was for this quest or not
>>
>>2197956
Definitely spring for the contract. Leave a sigil near the lock. By the time we come back with the contract it should have built up enough power to shift the pins inside. After that we just have to distract the sheriff while he escapes.
>>
>>2197956
Well, we can't bust him out right now, we'd have to get a contract written up! And summoning here isn't the most stealthy approach!
We'll write up a contract, have him sign, and then we'll let him out. Or send some minions to go after his transfer cart~~!
>>
>>2197984
Spells? You mean hexes? You are capable of such things, but in your current form you need corruptive power to do so which you don’t really have. At least not rooted enough for your own influence here.

>>2198041
>>2198039
Well you can’t bust him out as easily in the sense of cursing the lock to open, but there’s other ways you could spring him if you care to. Or just play it safe and return later.
>>
>>2198048
Definitely don't do it right now. When I posted >>2198039 I imagined us returning in a few days with a contract, when the sigil had time to build up corruption.

How could we spring him now, other than going full demon and ripping the door off its hinges?
>>
>>2198064
Oh sorry, my bad if it wasn’t clear, but he’s not likely to be here more than tomorrow maybe. Either they get the word that he’s transferred, or they’re executing him here in Rocheau.

For springing him now, well you did take that ability to be particularly manipulative at making people reconsider something they wouldn’t normally do. Also in your current form you can change appearance, be that to a guard?

That’s just off the top of my head for things you could do now, but I’m sure you could creatively come up with something else too. I mean as long as the door is somehow opened and/or he gets out of here, then you accomplished the feat.
>>
>>2198064
I really wish there was some character sheet with what we could and couldn't do. And either later tonight or a day or two from now.
>>
>>2198079
How long does it take for minions to send up that infernal contract? Do we even have time to get it?
>>
>>2198081
I’ll try and make something when I get the chance, sure.

>>2198148
No time at all, the material and immaterial planes are not equivalent in passage of time. As easily as getting into contact with them is about as quick as they could have a contract drawn up.
>>
>>2198167
Getting the contract seems like the best way if doing it now if it's that immediate
>>
>>2198174
Yup! Just have to find somewhere isolated to do it. Maybe time to head back and do some demonic
machinations~~?
Could see if our witch girl could whip up some acid for that lock.
>>
>>2198167
Go get the contract now, I don't want to have to collect from this guy after springing him.

Once we get back we can tell the sheriff we saw some suspicious man lurking a few blocks away staring at women. When he leaves we can just steal a key or brute force the criminal out.
>>
>>2198174
You can take your leave then, find a secluded place quickly (maybe a room at an inn with its own fireplace?) and then get in contact with your underlings to get the contract. If you do so, is there anything else you might want them for or from them for the short time (I assume) you’ll be in contact?

>>2198198
>>2198199
That also could work, yes.
>>
>>2198210
Could get another update on how things are going in hell. We're getting a soul, and one soul leads to more~~! Soon!
Could go to the inn our friend works at. Ask for a room to use for a couple of minutes.
>>
>>2198210
Let's do those two then!
>>
>>2198225
Very well then, you head to the inn Mila works at, meeting to a happy surprise for her. You ask for needing a room just for a few minutes, she wants to know why but sneaks you the room even without telling her. So without further ado you perform the ritual, that the fire flashes green and shortly after you see a female devil within.

”Mistress Amman! Oh ruination, how awful it is to see you! Having a wretched time in the mortal realm? Do tell me about it, is it as horrible as everyone says?!”

”Even worse Uengwian, it’s everything you could dread and more!”

The devil squeals with delight and envy and wishes that you could tell and show her all there is, as well as wishing you well and expressing her desire to see you back again, but time is short and you let her know as much. While she shoves the contract duty off on someone else, she can report to you. So far things are only getting worse for them, in your absence without help, to the extent that now they’re more or less stray demons without a home. Their little band is trying to keep together though out of waning loyalty, mostly Vauma holding them to it. What little strength they can muster however, they’re devoting to finding out all they can about the devil owner of Merryl’s soul.

If there’s anything else you care to know you can ask in the short time, though she enjoys just being able to hear from and see you again and would appreciate some supportive words or advice.
>>
>>2198290
I thought our minions hated us because they were essentially our slaves?

Oh well. Ask how many souls they need to stop getting their asses kicked.
>>
>>2198290
Damn. Our hold is collapsing. Seems we might have to send them out recently acquired soul after all... And it was all shiny and new, too. Do we still get to order him around if we don't necessarily hold the soul? Or order by proxy?
Well, matters not~~! Soul is a soul~~!
>>
>>2198300
Not everyone hates being a slave, not everyone hates torment. And some of them just prefer you to someone worse.

>>2198309
If you were to send them the soul, that would most certainly turn things around for them for sure. Technically though you wouldn’t have control over the mortal if it doesn’t belong to you or one of your minions. So hope that by giving it to them they don’t just trade it away for benefits. Though, even if they did you could just kill the guy.
>>
>>2198322
Why is this so difficult? Aaaaah. I don't like killing people... could we give it yo our son, have him make the command 'listen to the pretty lady' and then do that? We can always get another soul... but it took this long just to get one.
>>
>>2198322
I don't really care about this guy. The intention for me was always to send his soul to our minions. Once we spring him from jail either kill him or tell him to run far away. Don't keep him around. Limited usefulness as a servant, known criminal means he can't be seen publicly. We can easily get other minions with our abilities. A dime a dozen.
>>
>>2198351
I want to keep him for a little bit to use his connections, find out who's who, then order him to suicide T~T
>>
>>2198351
Yeah i was thinking the same, better to get the soul and tell him to run so we can help them
>>
>>2198335
That could work, your son is least likely to betray you for sure since you just as well, directly own him.

>>2198351
Well the only thing worth note, if you own his soul then you have complete and total control over his remaining mortal body. Whether you use that to quite literally slave him around, or alter and change his body to your wishes, at that point he’s a blank slate for you to have fun with. Body, mind, the whole package.

>>2198384
You could keep him for a little while at least. Though, connections for a highwayman are probably far and few between. Maybe a fence in town, or a supplier if you’re lucky. Though, what you do with the guy is up to your own creativity, he could turn out to be very useful.
>>
>>2198384
He was a highwayman, we didn't hear anything about him working with partners. Does he have any connections?

>>2198404
Don't care. Minions in hell need it. If we want a soul of our own so bad we should get around to taking Lucas'.
>>
>>2198422
No, not Lucas! Soul taking of those close to us is a no!
But, having our own little minion, at least for a little while (we could use him to kidnap beggars and the like and extract their souls!) And then force him to kill himself! He doesn't even have to look like himself while doing it, since we can just change him as we like!
>>
>>2198437
And since we can pass it off to our son, since that works, we can collect more souls, strengthen our grasp in hell, and have a minion! Tada!
>>
>>2198422
>>2198437
Supporting keeping Lucas' soul, this guy's can go to our minions
>>
>>2198422
Well it’s not like flushing the soul down to the Hellscape will only benefit your minions. The more powerful they get, the more they can support you in return. So it’s not really like just losing a soul and accepting the loss.

Keeping souls for yourself is better for sure, but it’s always a benefit to you some way or other. It’s just the difference between pulling off a stunt personally, and having back and forth help and cooperation to pull of stunts. Maybe you’d even prefer the Hellside help to your own power in some cases.
>>
>>2198437
Why not take Lucas' soul? We can skip all this slow and tedious corruption buildup. Merryl makes an infinitely better scapegoat than he does, if that's what you're worried about. Already a witch with demonic contacts.

>>2198455
That has factored into my decision.
>>
>>2198465
Some anon mentioned the whole not having a soul bit is bad since the more power we get, the more likely it'll be for him not having a soul being detected. I don't want that either.
>>
>>2198455
Supporting giving his soul to our allies
>>
>>2198483
At that point we'll be a beacon of corruption anon. One soulless person in proximity won't affect anything. A drop in the ocean.
>>
>>2198493
Th highwayman
>>
>>2198483
>>2198465
Very well then, you make the exchange through the fire for the demonic contract, still burning hot and tell her to keep her chin up before dousing the thing. Only a few minutes, and you’re back out again, thanking Mila for the help.

Now to the brig, where you alert the guard about some crime taking place outside, some harasser of women (while under a different appearance than normal) and lift the keys while he goes to investigate. Quickly you get him to sign the contract with his own blood and then free the highwayman, in a feat which will likely change the way the brig is guarded in the future, but the two of you slink off scott free. You can hear shouts and whistles sounding behind, but the pair of you make it to your horse and then bolt from town.

All the while, grinning madly, clutching the soul contract in a hand, and holding onto your soulless slave as you sit behind him on the horse. Where to now then? It’s just gone nightfall.
>>
>>2198509
Kill him, send the soul to your minions, ride the horse back to town.
>>
>>2198514
Any preference on how to kill him? Not as though you’re powerful enough in this form (while human that is, without changing) to just like crush his head or something. Though you do have full ownership over him and can order him to do anything of course.
>>
>>2198509
We can ditch him right? His soul is going to our minions either way right?
>>
>>2198497
Being corrupted is alright. Just means you're more prone to or have given in to vices, right? Being soulless is worse, in my opinion.
>>2198509
We could find some place secluded, change him form a little, and tell him to lay low for a bit. He can rob or do highwayman things, but he's got to be wary of that dullahan guy. So, really, he should lay low. And if he sees someone people wouldn't miss, kidnap them and bring them... ah... to the woods near the mansion? Also, no telling anyone about what we did, who we are, no signalling, no writing it down, all that secrecy stuff.
>>
>>2198514
Killing him now is such a waste~~! At least kill him after we've gotten some use out of him.
>>
>>2198521
Bash his head in with a rock. Order him to remain still.

>>2198528
Corruption is apparently a lot easier to detect than soullessness. In the amounts we're going to be generating, it's a lot more than "oh this person is likely to sin". It's gonna be something like "this town has fallen into depravity and must be purged".
>>
>>2198539
Really? I didn't know that~~ if that is the case, why not?
And again with the whole killing thing. Can't he at least be of use for a little but before murdering him horribly? I wanna kidnap some hobos and ritual sacrifice them for their souls first!
>>
>>2198528
Technically being soulless is worse for a person, but being corrupt, at least very corrupt is a worse sign for people to notice. Like noticing a soulless person you’re like “Sucks to be them”, noticing a very corrupt person is like “Uh oh they’re bad news”.

>>2198536
>>2198539
Slight majority seems to be killing him, rather than torment like turning him into a mouse or something. So a rock in the woods, bash his head in, and burn the body? The same fire to get back in contact and give over the soul contract, can get rid of the body entirely.
>>
>>2198559
Well, currently I want to say it's 1v1, but if >>2198523
Wants to chime in~~?

Then soul taking should be fine~~. I thought it was some horrible "shit, someone's taken this guys soul! He isn't even human anymore! Murder him and find whoever is related to him, inquisition style!" Kind of thing compared to corruption. Because everyone has a few vices here or there.
>>
>>2198573
Nah, some beings/people are unfortunate enough to be born without a soul, let alone have it stolen. Being soulless is weird, but not an immediate red flag. Being very corrupt is however.
>>
>>2198573
I was supporting
>>2198528
But either way were getting his soul to our friends so...
Killing him is faster i guess? And no loose ends?
>>
>>2198559
So since we're corrupting him, we may as well take his soul too. Mila's as well.

Also that plan sounds good. It does seem to be 1v1 though.

>>2198573
You sure you want to keep him alive? If he is committing crimes nearby after the prison break, they'll make security that much tighter and more difficult for us than if he just vanishes.
>>
>>2198603
We have his soul. Complete and utter control. And he looks different. And the coppers are dealing with the headless horseman at the moment. Some stragglers going missing in the dead of night for a few days is alright~~! And we can just command him to not do anything other than what we tell him to! Easy peasy~~! And hes a highwayman robbery! Not kidnapping!
>>
>>2198615
And if he gets caught, order him to commit suicide in any manner possible!
>>
>>2198623
Except we're sending his soul to our minions, and they might need to trade it away. So he'd no longer need to follow any of our orders, and the demon it's traded to might order him to hinder us.
>>
>>2198631
Oh shit
We should kill him
>>
>>2198631
>>2198404
>>2198637
Nope!
>>
>>2198637
Thanks! Now I believe killing has the majority. Maybe instead of bashing him with a rock, we can just gag him and burn him alive. Less messy, gives us fire for a portal, and gets rid of the body.

>>2198643
aw u fuq
>>
>>2198643
So, we're deciding wether to kill or use this guy for a bit?
Not sure... I mean, we could, with that anon basically confirming we could control him through our son, but it's kind of a liability to keep him around... I'm somewhat leaning toward keep him for a day, at least. Get one more soul out of him.
>>
>>2198646
Sorry mate for tying it up again. I took a break from hauling shit around to see whats up.
>>
>>2198631
I mean not to dissuade you from one action or another, but if you’re really so worried about him falling to the wrong owner, you can just specify to your minions to not trade his soul away without informing you first. Or giving it to your son who will follow orders.
>>
>>2198659
I just wanted a soul to throw down to hell for our minions that we'd never have to worry about again. But in the interest of moving on, I'll support >>2198652 to keep him for one more day, even if I seriously doubt he'll net us another soul by then. After that time has passed, kill him and give the minions permission to use his soul however they need to further our interests.
>>
>>2198668
One soul is enough to turn out our situation around in hell. Getting another soul should be twice as good!
>>
>>2198668
>>2198676
Very well then, you can keep him alive for at least one more day. So where to then, and what to do with your new slave?
>>
>>2198698
shifting his features around a little, no talking, no signaling, no making any actions that would doing anything that would in any way lead back to us aside from the treck to the woods, and find someone no one would miss of the lower class either here or somewhere away from here, bring em back here. If you don't come back with someone in the time alotted, your heart/brain will sstop/kill yourself as quick and as painlessly as possible.
Something like that, which is mostly what that one anon typed.
>captcha: avenue avenue
>>
>>2198698
I'll support >>2198716
I think they need to be capable of following our orders though, so no heart stopping. Forget quick and painless, pick a method that ensures he dies. Swallow pebbles until his stomach explodes. Don't want him to botch his suicide because he tried to drown himself, but passed out and floated to safety.

I don't know what else to plan really. I'm more a 'reaction' kind of guy rather than an 'action' sort. I can't really plan ahead... well, there's always taking that soul, apparently... Don't see how we could take it as is right now though. Aside from maybe that demon sob story from last thread. Would need some help to take Milas though.

>>
>>2198963
According to QM, stealing souls is apparently preferable to being corrupted~~
I don't want to take their souls... I really Don't! There's probably things only people with souls can do. Which I hope the QM can answer so I don't have to take em, but right now it seems like there's no downside, aside from not having a soul. Which I don't know how a normal human can benefit from.
>>

Ok, so you think it wise to alter your new slave. First and most obviously, his face so people don’t immediately recognize him. Then you alter his physiology so that if he doesn’t receive a kiss from you once a day his body will begin to fail leading to inevitable death. You let him know as much, and then set him loose more or less to bring you back another hapless victim. Maybe if he proves useful at fetching soul fodder, you may not kill him.

He doesn’t get the horse though, of course. Sucker has to find his way around on his own. You meanwhile are free to do as you please, and with the contract in hand you think it best to return home for now, and figure out what to do from here with your new prize. Lucas and Mila aren’t home yet you find, however, while putting up your horse and tending to his needs, you feel a startling presence accompanied by a voice announcing it.

”He’s a fine stallion, does he have a name?”

Lady Bourdillon, in some nice traveling clothes. Maybe she had been waiting here for you, you doubt she’d have just happened to follow and arrive right after you did. Still she stands, on the other side of the horse running a hand along.

>>
>>2198943
It depends which side you’re spending them on, the Hellscape side by sending them to your minions below, or the material plane side by keeping them yourself?

They have different results which can be expanded upon, but for the most part the Hellscape side is about trading help and summoning helpers, while the material plane side is for the most part about powerful demonic rituals which can grant powers or change things to your wishes.

Also just from a practical sense, personally possessing souls makes your true demon form more powerful (like it translates directly to attributes as well as how you may use them), though giving souls below makes your domain in the Hellscape more powerful. Depending on how many souls you have for use, will reveal specifically what you’re able to do (in terms of actual “purchases” or uses) however you can get a general impression of anything if you’re just curious.

Oh, and of course you can directly trade souls to other entities who may value them for power or favors that way, be the entity from the material, immaterial, or other planes.

>>2198977
That’s true, however a soulless person isn’t immune from corruption or anything. I was just saying that if you have a normal soulless person and a very corrupt person, then the latter is a bigger red flag. However a soulless person whom is corrupt is a double red flag.

So it’s not like you could steal the souls of a bunch of servants and be safe. Not only would multiple soulless people look quite suspicious together, but by nature of your activities they’re probably going to end up corrupted as well which is obviously very bad. Though for what it’s worth, you may hold great sway over someone you greatly corrupt, but a person whose soul you steal, you have complete and total control of every aspect of their being. So like Lucas you’ve despoiled quite severely and he’d likely follow most any suggestion you please and you can shape and alter him in many ways. If you stole his soul though, he has no choice but to obey and with a snap of your fingers you could turn him into a dog or anything you wish.
>>

You politely introduce yourself, and try to be courteous, though you’ve had a busy day so you’re a bit sweaty, a bit smelly, a bit dirty, and rather tired. Still, you do your best and she doesn’t seem to mind and in fact appreciates the gesture.

Rather than speaking too soon, you figure to maybe hammer things out in a more pleasant setting rather than in the stable, tea and even dinner perhaps?

”Well I must say I am quite flattered, such hospitality! Is it alright if I come in though? We’ve hardly just met, I’d hate to impose. Not to mention, I do believe you have other tenants? I worry that it isn’t proper.”

Well she’s definitely a fancy one, very refined and verse in ettiquete. If nothing else she could prove to be a great teacher in more noble ways that none of your current, common friends can help you.
>>
>>2199115
Oh, now this is kinda suspicious... something about certain entities not being allowed inside abodes unless you explicitly invite them in~~? Then after that it's a free pass forever! Is that a thing here?
I hope I'm on the right track with that... wrll, suppose we could have some tea out on... do we have a porch, gazebo or veranda somewhere? Could have some tea outdoors while we judge her. Or would that be rude?

>>

>>2199787
>>2199740
Ah but first your esteemed guest!

>>2199204
She wouldn’t mind a walk around the grounds, even though she’d been looking forward to that tea. So you take a little nightly stroll around the place, keeping it relatively close to the house given the lack of light sources anywhere else. She’s content to keep things polite and try to get to know you better, though you’re eagerly awaiting (with soul contract in hand) to be done here. The first thing you notice is that you can’t sense anything about her, not demonically at least, at best you can only rely on the intuition of your mortal disguise which isn’t great because Bourdillon is very personable and difficult to read for how genuine she seems or masks herself as. It’s kind of creepy how she comes off as a blank slate to you, when you’re so used to being able to get a feel for anyone else you come across. Whatever the case though, you try to keep it civil as well but have you a motive for the conversation to follow?
>>
>>2199951
What is she and what does she want.
>>
>>2199969
Supporting but let's be nice about it, ask her if she knows what we are
>>
>>2199977
I didn't mean to ask that bluntly, DW asked for a motive and said we were keeping it civil. I figured I'd give a blunt motive, and our character would phrase it nicely.
>>
>>2199977
>>2199985
>>2199969
She's playful with the topic, and says if you can guess what she is, she'll do the same. She warns you though, that she has a good idea about you already. Three guesses of course.

Her motive? Well you'd have to know the first part of course!

Well you got it on the second guess, and she gets it on the third guess for you. So a demoness and a vampire, walking side by side through the garden. An odd sight for any. If you can guess what she is then, you should easily be able to guess what her goals are. At least she thinks so, but what you're doing here is a real mystery to her, thinking there's a particular target you're after. Some exemplary or befouled soul in particular, Margot perhaps given how you're tailing her everywhere. She doesn't think Margot that dangerous, that she'd have been able to summon a demonic servant.

Now that you're on the same page then, she wonders how things will go from here? You might both be evil, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're allies...

>>2200144
>...
>>
>>2200228
Well we can be if we both want to, you scratch my back I scratch yours, gnome saiyan?
We're just trying to get power for us here and back home, ask her if she would be okay with ud sending a soul down while she with us?
>>
>>2200228
Judging by how she's hypnotized everyone into thinking she's been there for years, she probably just wants a comfy safe life here. Us too!
>>
>>2200263
>>2200254
You bring up the idea of cooperation, which isn't so unappealing to her. She knows the rep demons have though and never to trust them. Also, she's not sure how much benefit you can offer her. She likes having victims around to feed on, whereas you're trying to seal souls and corrupt people. Maybe not to the same extent, but more virtuous people taste better to her for sure.

What do you bring to the table, really? That she couldn't do on her own?
>>
>>2200324
Demonic allies and favors and soonhopefully a network of corrupt people at our disposal throughout the town
>>
>>2200324
Allies against the church.
>>
>>2200341
>>2200369
Well that does sound nice, but her whole style is keeping subtle, secret, and out of sight and mind. Your style, like all demons, is bold, over the top, and noticeable.

Enemies against the church? How typical of you! She just wants to dwell peacefully, leeching off the citizenry, while you want to rebel against the system.
>>
>>2200380
True, but we're planning on keeping our rebellion quiet until we're too powerful for them to stop us. If she wants to sabotage us or give us away, know that we're going to give her away too if we get caught. If we succeed and create a bastion of hellish power in the mortal realm, we'll remember how cooperative or uncooperative she was, and treat her accordingly.
>>
>>2200396
But, she already has an established powerbase, not “something in the future”!

Anyway, figure your answer or proposition to her, I’ve got to duck out just for a bit to get din dins but will resume right when I return.
>>
>>2200405
Not really what I meant, but whatever. How about we agree to stay out of each other's way. She was here first, so we'll try to keep a low profile and not stir things up too much, but if she betrays us, we can hand her identity over to the church.
>>
>>2200228
Vampire was always my guess! So take that! I win!
>>2200396
Well, truthfully I don't think we have much in the way to offer her, since technically we're still setting up. We're not trying to be loud, like certain others, it's just our presence that tends to be 'loud' really. And we don't betray allies, I would hope.
She wants a quiet life while we just want... what, power? which would, eventually, catch the attention of the church.
A trade of information would be nice, really... Hell works at a different speed ,and we have minions that could go get info for her. And then we could also loan some demonic minions if she wants.
Does the blood of soulless people taste any different? Rather than having a messy cleanup, we could send said soulless people to her to drink dry. Much easier for the both of us. A mutual business arrangement. And since she is already firmly in the nobility cast, there wouldn't be any suspicion on her end, would it? ANd since we change their appearance, there is a negligible chance of getting caught.

To be perfectly honest I don't really want anything from you, mostly I was curious as to your motives and power. I just want to make sure neither of us step on each other's toes. I stay out of your nice peaceful life and you don't sell me out to the church. We both have a common enemy and we both have the means to unravel each other. I just want to enact a deal of peace before a misunderstanding pushes us to blows.
>>
>>2200637
It's less of a I want something you want something. And more of a nicer way of putting M.A.D. cold war gone hot style.
>>
Ok back, let me catch up.
>>
>>2200637
>>2200453
If you can offer her something demonic that may change her mind, if it’s something good. Otherwise she’s fine staying out of each other’s way, but the first bit of trouble happens to her because of you, she’s turning against you.

Working together? Well maybe if you can do something to please her like a nice gift, or prove your worth. Otherwise, she’d rather not dabble in the demonic, she’s already screwed enough in the afterlife as it is, being a vampire.
>>
>>2200919
Well, pretty sure we feel the same way. I don't know what we could possibly offer her in the demonic sense. Aside from what I know, which includes souls (pretty sure she has no use for those) minions (Those have some use but can be caught) and soulless fodder, if she's feeling peckish.
We don't know what in particular she wants, and we don't know exactly what we can give... It's difficult to come to an accord without both sides trying to give. Right now all we've done is offer her things, which really just shows our hand and kinda makes us look weak. Well, she is in a position of power, after all... Just what would she even want?
>>
>>2200919
If we want to prove our worth what does she suggest?
>>
>>2200919
Yeah, what would she want? She said before that she's established here and has everything set up, and she didn't need us, so it must be some luxury item, and I don't want to play another guessing game for what it is.
>>
>>2200995
Why give her anything, just a healthy mutual respect for each other and keeping our nose out of each others business. Not everything is something to be dealt with.
>>
>>2200961
>>2200991
A demonic item of power would appeal to her, like that dagger you have as an example of one. Though of course as said, you don’t have to give her anything, that’s just a segue into seeing if you could cooperate. If you’re fine just staying out of each other’s way then you needn’t give anything to her.
>>
>>2201034
Well, we now know of each other, and if she's willing, perhaps in the future we could conduct business.
All we could really ask of her is some forewarning if things are getting too 'hot' as it were. If so, we'll tone it down so we both don't get discovered.
Also, can we ask her any persons of interest to avoid? She has to know one or two of them.
>>
>>2201034
>Is there any chance of you
>Point at her
>And me
>Point at self
>Unf, unf
>Hump the air
>>
>>2201059
That’s a fair compromise definitely. As for people to avoid, she tells you a few minor noble families who are either quite religious or have family members involved with the church. She also tells you about the local firebrand priest to avoid, a few individuals she’s kept tabs on for being dangerous themselves (supernaturally so, like one is a werewolf), and lastly the says to just steer clear altogether of a few folks who follow one of the native gods. They don’t play by the same rules your theology does, exactly, so can be unexpectedly dangerous.

>>2201068
Well if she needed proof of you being a demon there it is. She’s not sure she could trust such an interaction though, with a demon. Also you’re complete strangers. Maybe not no chance she admits, but not a realistic one.
>>
>>2201150
Alright, I am content with this arrangement. Shake hands, send her off, give our minions the soul.
>>
>>2201164
Yup. We have business to attend to, dinner to make, threesomes to partake in...
I suppose we could ask if she's bored of any of her cattle to send them out way? Mind slaves and souls are always welcome. She's most likely not going to accept, but doesn't hurt to try. If she says no, we'll just say we expected such a response.
>>
>>2201150
Also what were her first two guesses about what we are?
>>
>>2201200
I want to know this too.
>>
>>2201176
She’s actually not so opposed to shoving off victims she doesn’t want,

After though and seeing her off, you rush inside to be greeted warmly by Merryl, even happier to see you with a soul contract when she puts two and two together. Lucas and Mila will be hom soon enough, so you quickly make the ritual fire and hand over the contract to a delighted devil of yours. If there’s anything else you want of them before going, now would be the time before ending things and leaving them to get busy.

>>2201200
>>2201216
Her first two guesses were some native supernatural creature, and a magic practitioner. She didn’t first guess demon because she’s not familiar with how you came to be up here as you are now.
>>
>>2201306
Ah, crap, forgot to ask about that dullahan...
Ah well. Suppose another brief update wouldn't have hurt. Now we got a soul, things shouldn't be too bad...
Do we have anything like hellfire we could cast? I've been wondering if we could have used something like that to cremate a body in a relatively quick amount of time.
>>
>>2201354
Your true form can make use of various demonic abilities like hellfire. As your disguise form, you would need to perform a ritual to do it. However, the same ritual used to get into contact with your minions is itself a type of hellfire so could incinerate a body quickly.

So with the soul exchanged and your underlings off to make use of it and try to begin regaining power in your name, Merryl asks what you’re planning on doing with that benefit. Particularly, she wants to know who the unlucky fool was to give you their soul, and if you’ve a plan for them.
>>
>>2201435
Now now, merryl, we can't just up and say that. A certain someone has your soul, after all. Us telling you that might be a detriment to us.
Pat her on the head and tell her not to worry. Or some other, lewder act and then telling her not to worry.
>>
>>2201450
You settle her worries with a kind touch which develops to something more, and teasing her, but leave her hanging when Lucas and Mila return home both happy but tired to be home from the work day. You can greet then, and then get to making dinner? They brought more foodstuffs from town, and you and Merryl have seened to taken on cooking duties (or at least you’re the best at it).
>>
>>2201465
Yay! Cooking~~~! More fun times with merryl!
Ask em if they've heard of that headless horseman guy, and tell em to steer clear~~!
>>
>>2201465
YES
More molesting dinner making time with Merryl!

Let's up our game this time! Nuzzle in between her shoulder and neck, let our hands drift over her waist, tell her we know she likes it, and inch just a bit closer so her butt pokes us
>>
>>2201465
Well, we could ask them how their day was. And if mila picked up any gossip at the inn. Never underestimate gossip.
>>
>>2201465
There's nothing more rewarding than eating the meal you made yourself. Except maybe seeing others enjoy your skills with you. That way you know no one poisoned it.
>>
>>2201505
That’s a great idea actually, roll to see if she overheard anything of worth.

>>2201491
>>2201502
>>2201519
You’re fine to cook dinner and drag Merryl along to the kitchen. Again she innocently just thinks it’s to help and learn, but you tease and torment her all the while. You get even more bold, the same style of instruction as yesterday only now by the end you do away with the pretenses, as you circle her waist with your hands and pull her against you, feeling her heart rise and her emotions surge when you bring your chin, your mouth to rest against her neck and whisper such enticing things. When you tell her how you know her feelings about it all she practically melts in your hands and asks you to please not torment her like this without any reprieve. She knows how you and Mila and Lucas share your nights together and she’s just stuck tied up in the dark to listen. She’s grateful for all your kindness to her, but in a way she feels even more lonely now than she did when living alone.

No mercy for the little tramp though, you enjoy her suffering all the while, particularly as she’s a possible threat to you. In both your distractions though, dinner falls by the wayside as your focus is elsewhere. It’s not terrible, but noticeably worse than yesterday and Mila probably could have done a better job.
>>
>>2201502
you know... something fun to do is mess with her sensitivity~~! She's already so wonderfully incompetent, which we'll fix when we get her soul back, but for now, if we just up it a bit, keeping her mind on a task while being aroused by just our touch or from her clothes is all the better for us~~! Might make that rope bondage at night turn better for her too!
>>

Well, she has is. And maybe we'll let her join once that whole soul issue is off the table.
>>
>>2201548

We *could* have some fun with her after she's tied down, if we're feeling risky we could sleep with her too after securing her hands and feet
>>

>>

Well what do you know, she actually met a traveling merchant whose coach driver was killed by the headless rider this very day on the way to town! She was only hearing about it from the merchant who was understandably shaken up, but she got a lot of juicy details if you care about any in particular. The general story was they were riding to town when the horseman set upon them and caused quite a fright and damage, before fighting with the driver, chopping and taking his head away. During this time the merchant fled the coach and hid in a field nearby, long enough for the rider to leave, so that he could return and drive the coach the rest of the way to town. Already he was having to look into a funeral for the poor killed fellow.

>>2201603
>>2201580
Not that you’re not wonderful yourself, but she also has a special feeling towards Lucas of course. Naive and from being starved of contact for years, the first man she’s both spent any amount of time with and shown her kindness, so it was inevitable that she’d start to feel sweet on him. Particularly when she sees and hears what a stud you’ve changed him to be.

To settle her feelings (and stir up others) you give her a kiss which makes her knees go weak, before returning to the dining room with all the food to sit around the table for dinner and talk, such as with getting the gossip from Mila.
>>
>>2201638
Ask her in private if she'd like it if we influence Lucas into getting interested in her, with her bindings on we could work something out

First Merryl Finger-blast tonight?
>>
>>2201638
I see... did he mention general location? How the murderer looked? Any sounds of his approach? If it suddenly got foggy or something like that? And damage how? Weaponry the phantom used? How far into the field was he? Did the phantom ever leave the road? I don't know any other questions to really ask...

Suppose we could see if Lucas could help with her frustrations... Just have to be sure she's not hiding anything funny down there. Who knows what strange things that devil could have ordered her to do? Here's a disease to transfer, use this potion, initiate this tantric ritual, and so on...
>>
>>2201638
Yes yes~~! Let's mess with her body some more~~!
>>2201661
Some quality time with merryl is called for!
>>2201667
Well, if we do my idea, we can give her all the pleasure she could ever want~~? Who needs a man when you have a demon that can give you a high lasting as long as you'd like?
>>
>>2201677
Supporting!

>>2201667

Also whaddya'll say about prettying her up a little more? To a 7 on both face and body maybe? Make Mila and Lucas think she alway been like that
>>
>>2201667
She has to remember the answers, but you can sense them from her when she can’t. It happened along the eastern road into town, the horseman was apparently quite terrifying decked out in full armor and riding his horse both wreathed in spectral flame, carrying a cackling head through the night. The sight and sound was unmistakable, with a rolling fog and the sound of his wailing laughter over the approaching gallop. The damage done was to the coach, just hacking and slashing to try and damage it and get at those inside, using a sword. The merchant ran pretty far into the field to escape, and no the rider never left the road though it sounds like a choice rather than being bound to the road.

>>2201661
>>2201677
>>2201701
Well she’d be happy with just anything, though she laments the need for bindings if she’s not alone. It’s not like she’s being left alone in a room all night if she’s with someone else, especially considering how you trust her enough to not leave her tied up, and unsupervised around the house all day. She’s not so presumptuous as to ask to graduate from being tied up every night (though you can tell she would like to) but she doesn’t think there’s a need if she’s not alone.
>>
>>2201701
At this juncture? I'm not sure. We could convince Lucas of anything, but Mila is a different story. If I had some kind of status bar with (corruption level x percent) I'd be avle to give a solid answer.
I forget... does she have a job or not? Because that's also something to take into account. I suppose body changes would be fine. Face changes... well, that can be slowly over time.
>>
>>2201722
Remind her it's not for long. Just until we can get this whole business sorted out. And some body 'improvements' to ease her aren't totally out of the question.
Also, damn, was hoping being bound to a road would be a thing. Ah well. But fog, night, and the sound are good indications of its arrival. Best to jump ship and hide if we hear or see them.
>>
>>2201739
Op said he was going to make something like that and I think she's stayed in the house without a job
We wanted to make her a healer at home I think

>>2201722
How tied up do we leave her? We could loosen it up so it's only her hands and feet, but for tonight finger blasting and changing!
>>
>>2201754
Well, that's good enough. The house might be booby trapped now, but it's our house, and I'm sure we could find if she's changed anything, given some time to search. Maybe an afternoon for that.
You can still move with only hand and feet. We can't just stop being careful just because she made some puppy dog eyes at us. Having our way with her should be fine though. At least any damage we take can be fixed.
>>
>>2201766
We could ask her and feel if she's lying i believe

Also can't remember if we carved demonic stuff into the place? Should we?
>>
>>2201739
No one ever has a status bar (lol) but at this point for the things you’ve done and gotten her to do, Mila is about as corrupt as Lucas was when you got to a point where you could start telling him what to do and making small changes. She probably wouldn’t be happy with you convincing her to do something with Merryl, but she probably wouldn’t mind at all if Lucas took care of poor little Merryl. As she knows ever since you first convincer her, and as she now knows from personal experience, Lucas is exceptional enough a man that he can handle multiple women. As long as she’s still getting her share of the love she’ll remain happy, and Lucas is well to that point by now. Basically, she’s not to the point of being made to take action herself, but sharing the man of the house a little more isn’t a problem if you pitch it right to her. Though, the real matter comes down to, if you want to share, or take care of things yourself.

As for Merryl, no she doesn’t have a job. She just stays and minds the house while practicing her craft.

>>2201753
Well yes, that would certainly make her content, given how happy she was last time.

>>2201754
Yes I plan to give some info and details to help with Amelie and understanding what she can do, but that’s not for everyone else. Though you can of course just ask at any time what your influence with someone is like.

For how tied up, so far you’ve been fully hog tying her so she can’t move. She’s gotten used to it, but it’s still not pleasant for her to just be left restrained in a room all night. Doubly so when the rest of you cherish each other.
>>
>>2201754
More fun with merryl is always alright in my book~~!
>>2201766
Oi, anon, sometimes I'm glad you're the voice of reason, but sometimes it's a bit of a killjoy~~! Oh well. At least you provide some reasoning. Maybe we should learn... what's it called again? Shibari?
Have we claimed the basement for our own? We should start prepping dark dark stuff down there~~!
>>
>>2201780
Ehhh
I kinda want to ease up on the full bondades, just bind her wrists, feet and mouth really well

>>2201766
>>2201784
What do y'all say anons? Keep her bound for her first finger-blast or let her free just this once so we get the full experience of her trashing around?

Cuz i got some actions planned for both
>>
>>2201775
I think we have. Could ask her if she's done anything to the place too. Would suck if she said 'I cant say' since that would most definitely mean yes.
>>2201780
I like numbers! So help me! Well, if it'll keep her content in the mean time, why not? And since she mostly stays at home, that increasing sensitivity plan actually probably wouldn't be a bad idea...? Great, now I'm agreeing with such a thing...
>>2201784
Some japanese rope techniques probably wouldn't be a bad idea, maybe? Could we even do that?
>>
>>2201817
Still on the side of caution, mate. If she can't move her arms and legs, she can't get up in the middle of the night and go psycho murder on us.
But! If it's just while we have some fun with her, I don't particularly see the issue. After its done though, back to being fully bound.
>>
>>2201817
Obviously you do the patrician choice of just turning her sensitivity so high she can't move without her body going haywire~~! We make it so when she has an orgasm, she cant move,
But if she moves, she has an orgasm! Problem solved~~!
>>
>>2201846
Oh boi
I feel like that would be more torture-ish rather than cautiousness
>>
>>2201846
Anon, pls. Be serious.
And if we're taking that seriously, while fun to think about, her constantly moaning would probably keep us all up.
>>
>>2201834
So...
Finger-blast without ropes is a go!
>>
>>2201849
Its real simple! If she just doesn't move, she'll be fine! See? Easy~~!
>>2201852
Fine fine. No doing that then... but I still say if she choses not to move of her own volition she'll be fine~~! And if she's being moved against her will, we'll know!
>>
>>2201784
No you hadn’t started really making the estate “yours” in terms of use and modifications. I’d assumed you wanted to wait till you were sure it had fallen into your hands, but of course you’re free to start changing things to your liking.

>>2201819
I mean, you’re hog-tying her pretty soundly, she’s never escaped once yet. Though a reminder that if her owner really, really needed her free, he could just send an imp up to sever her bonds from what she couldn’t escape on her own.

As for finding out if she’s done anything, you can certainly ask. Make a roll if you wish to.

>>2201834
Well if you’re holding her in bed, or elsewhere, not like she can go psycho murder on you anyway. I mean she could, but you’d immediately know when she’s trying to move, and assumedly if you’re sleeping in bed it’s not like she’s armed or armored. Probably less of a threat, since she’s just a normal woman physically (at the moment) so it’s not like she could hulk out and overpower and break free. Her hexes probably would be the only threat but again, you’d know if she’s trying something, you will always trump a mortal’s hexxing, and she’s not that good at it anyway.

Just a thought, not as safe as tying her up of course, but it’s not like you’re sharing a bed with a grizzly bear or a tiger. I mean, unless you turn her into a grizzly bear or a tiger.
>>
>>2201876
Awwww
Now i want to share a bed with her and she also doesn't know about the knife so it all work's out!

Also does it *need* a roll? We've felt stuff after not even asking before
>>
>>2201883
I whole heartedly support this endeavor.

Also if we can learn any skill stupid fast. We should find some sort of martial trainer. That way we don't have to drop disguise if we need to defend ourselves.

>>
>>2201905
Any number of reasons. Probably the easiest, the longer some Hellscape denizen is on the material plane, the harder it is to perform such a feat. So something like just having an imp quickly burst forth, cut her bonds and return is easier than having the imp do what she would do after being untied and possessed.

>>2201910
>>2201915
>54

Just out of curiosity, you ask Merryl straight, if she's been possessed, instructed, or otherwise influenced by her owner since coming to the house. She responds wholeheartedly, no, and you sense this to be the truth from her... that is, the truth according to her, and what she knows. If you feel for it carefully and closely enough though, you can sense some other demonic taint on her.

So she must have been possessed, which usually is done without the host knowing, like sleepwalking so they don't remember. Though in this case it must have been done during the day when she was untied. You're both angry and worried about this, but you can follow the corruption around like a trail, just as you would your own. You're careful about it as not to miss anything, but from what you can tell she hasn't done anything untoward or of a sabotaging nature. If anything, it seems like she's just been moving and looking around the house for something, rather than tampering with anything. So probably her owner thinks there's something in the house which is worth his effort, rather than spending the time to screw you over. If indeed he'd used her to plant traps or mess with things, the influence would be stronger and leave a more noticeable residue; as-is, you only noticed it because you sensed it deeply in her and then went looking for it. Pretty much just wandering about the house and moving things to look, but little else.

And poor Merryl is unaware of this as you can tell, confused as to why you're running around the house but eager to know if she can help with what you're doing.
>>
>>2201928
Probably that knife.
Damn him!
>>
>>2201934
Silly paranoia anon, he's a devil~~! He's already damned!
But poor merryl... We really need to get that soul soon. But, at least souls are trickling in~~!

>>
>>2201943
Do we know where the knife is? Because I can't really think of much else to do other than make sure said knife is fine (it's on our person, right? If my memory isn't completely terrible) and just go ahead and mess with merryl for the night.
>>
>>2201947
Except when sleeping, when you hide it under your pillow, I assume you keep it on you at all times? Though, if you care to start sharing a bed, obviously you wouldn't have the knife right there while Merryl is.
>>
>>2201943
Yeh but i wanna personalize the scene a bit, gimme a few mins
>>
>>2201949
Yeah, no, can't let the guy possessing merryl get her hands on that.
Going to have to hide that somewhere while we rest. Also can't let her see that we have it on us, so no pulling it out in front of her or anything. But, she'll be bound after, so her leaving is negligible.

So later on the four of you part ways, two and two to different bedrooms. Merryl doesn't know what to expect, until you take control of things and show her a special time. She's so flustered and timid against your might, but melts to your touch and by the end clings to you with what strength she can muster for support. You leave her a hot and bothered, sweaty mess, exhausted in your arms. Weakly she expresses her endless thanks, love and devotion to you, not just for that but all you've done.

But you're not done yet, and while she sleeps, having zonked out in your arms after awhile, you alter her form to suit her improving good looks and attractiveness even more. In the morning she'll awake to quite the surprise if she catches sight of her reflection. You can get some sleep too, and keep a hold of her in case she gets possessed.

---

The night passes by uneventfully, she stirred in her sleep a little which you were aware of but no possessions or anything sketchy. The morning sun trickles through the windows and plays a soft light on the room, as you think of what the plan is for the day. Merryl still sleeps, soundly and softly, her body having taken to the new altered appearance.

>>
>>2202481
Oh, it's you
>>
>>2202267
Eh, lewd is lewd. Don't care much for it, but not against it, since it reaps some benefits for us (corruption + devotion).
Don't think corrupting our workplace is a good idea. High corruption is great for using higher tiers of our power, so really it should be used to corrupt home bases. I Cant see a benefit to corrupting coworkers. If anything, it'd just leave us getting caught faster. Fun, sure, but not much of a point. Our boss would fire them, they'd go out in the streets, she might get more or just dump their work on us, removing our free afternoons. Not a great outcome. Especially since vamp lady mentioned that hyper devoted priest running around, we really haveto keep our work at a minimum, or go out of town for demonic work.
At least until we have a solid powerbase in hell, a disguise ready, and have enough information. She gave us a few who's and a couple of whats, but we don't know who the whats are. Then we can start on corrupting.
>>
>>2202593
Except if we corrupt our workplace, we are safer from an ambush and can use more power from there. Our boss is quite corrupt herself as a murderer, she'll likely take the blame for anything we do. She won't be able to fire everyone, but if you're worried about that we can push people to take an excess of pride in their work, to the point that they obsess over it and seek to outdo each other.
>>
>>2202663
would rather choose a seedier place, really. like that place with the... orc bouncer? Yeah, there.
>>
>>2202671
I don't see how that would benefit us, we don't spend a lot of time there.
>>
>>2202680
more camouflage for corruption. A corrupt seedy place is better than a corrupt open space that plenty of people travel through. Plus she has multiple stores. And we have that highwayman. Could turn him back for a sec and see if he knows how to get entry.
Well, still don't think doing any corruption at this point is in any way a good idea.
>>
>>2202685
I think you're being overly cautious. I just want a little bit at our workplace so we have some power to draw on in case of emergency. Nothing too noticable or unusual. I'm sure the bar with the bouncer is already naturally more corrupt than most places.
>>
>>2202695
Nothing wrong with being overly cautious. All that means is things progress slightly slower while being safer.
And I like being safe. Risky plays are great and all, but they're still risky for a reason. I personally wouldn't try anything like that until we've gotten some souls to munch on.
>>
>>2202706
I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. We're never completely safe, and this is a negligible amount of risk for tangible reward. This is the safer option. I don't want to get caught with our pants down at work, if Margot gets a surprise visit from the church.
>>
>>2202718
and we'd get a higher chance of getting one such suprise visit is if we corrupt it. Hence why I think it'd be easier to use that bar place.
would just be easier to get a soul and use that for a disguise in case the church showed up. Speaking of, forgot to ask if we can remove the soul to get rid of the disguise after, or if it's a semi-permanent thing...
We're really getting nowhere with this, so I'll just agree to disagree.
>>
>>2202730
First of all, he answered that yesterday, we can remove the soul disguise, but it expends the soul.

Second of all, the risk increase is nothing compared to the additional safety it provides. Kind of like a home security system, it might let people know you have stuff worth taking, but it also helps you deal with anyone who does come in to rob you. If you're still unconvinced, I don't know how to change that so yes let's drop it.

Third, why corrupt the bar? What does that do for us? That's increased risk with zero reward.
>>
>>2202768
Maybe because I don't see it as a home security system, but a beacon that says "hey, there's corruption going on here! come here, come here!" and while we might have the home field advantage for a bit, they can always just call in the bigger guns. Oh, there was a demon here that could hold back the church? call in the paladins! Not here anymore? Go on alert for any places of corruption!
Well, that is the absolute 100% worst case scenario, unlikely to happen, but I don't like it.
Because it's probably already kind of corrupt? And someone last thread wanted to try going bottom to top, so we could make a foothold in the seedier side of town from there. anything we try there is probably going to be passed off as just being part of the seedier side.
Yeah, this will probably go nowhere.
>>
>>2202781
I'm against corrupting the bar. Not only do we spend no time there, but it's more likely to be noticed. Place like that is already corrupt, anything we do will just make it stand out more. Plus we don't even spend time there so it wouldn't be useful.

We don't spend time there now, but it's a location of interest and someplace to check later. And more noticeable? What?
Anyway, guess we'll just have to wait for QM input. The mechanics of the quest themselves aren't really set in stone (he seems to like to trickle doen info as we learn about it), so I can't say one way or another if one of us is correct.
>>
>>2202803
>Mechanics
Kek
I don't think there are any desu, like actual mechanics? Like corruption levels and unlocks, spellcasts, etc.
>>
>>2202881
Not like that, rpg shit, more like what we can actually do with corruption and souls and rituals.
>>
>>2202267
Well, at least it's being kept behind closed doors at home.

Anyway, so you search around the house and don't find much of interest. If the former owner was hiding something, he hid it well. In any case eventually you figure that's enough for now, and getting ready you take your horse into town for the day, and for work after. Probably about an hour or two before you're expected to start, if there was anything you wanted to see to.

>>2202887
When it comes down to rituals, it's more a case of what you can't do. Like you can ask if such a thing is possible, and chances are there's a ritual for it, for most anything. For corruption and souls though, like I said I'll try to write something up. I just need some time aside, when I'm not running the quest for you lovely players.
>>
>>2203303
so... say we want to do a ritual for hiding the corruption that is bound to be emanating from the house in the near future. surely we can do that, provided the time and resources, right?
>>
>>2203303
>>2203309
If so, we can do the same thing for our workplace.
>>
>>2203410
It's why I'm asking. That would eliminate the problem almost entirely. For one place, perhaps, but at the same time, she's got a couple of stores... Things to think about.
>>
>>2203309
Sure, that’s entirely possible. To just put a bunch of sealing and obscuring glyphs around the house and on the outside, that people couldn’t tell the place was a den of depravity.

>>2203410
Well your “workplace” is following Margot around to all her various locations so it would be hard to do all o them.
>>
>>2203520
Yeah, pretty much what I'd thought.
>>2203410
btw, have you rolled for the search?
>>
>>2203529

>>2203520
Alright, seal up the house. Then go wild with demonic runes.
>>
>>2203596
>>2202035
>>
>>2203596
Alright yeah you can do that after work tonight.

Before you start though, wouldn’t you know it the highwayman finds you in town and approaches you. It seems he has a good mark on a soul for you, but he needs his original appearance back for the duration of getting it. Obviously, he’ll try to be careful to not get caught again.
>>
>>2203716
Does he really need it? It's the truth, right? What does he need to change his appearance for, exactly? He's not trying to hide anything from us, right?
>>
>>2203716
Sure, have your minions restore him.

>>2203797
Likely it's an acquaintance of his that needs to recognize him.
>>
>>2203808
>>2203797
More or less along those lines, yes.

You can change him back then, after which it’s on to work for the day. Make a roll for your assisting Margot.

Quite a productive and helpful day you provide to your employer, as Margot brings you around to her businesses and you do a bang up job of not only assisting her as she needs, but suggesting improvements and changes to be made. Several days on the job now, you’ve basically leared all Margot could have to offer already and then some, so noticing sources of inefficiency or places which could use corrections.

She thanks you of course, and even though you sense threatened feelings of inadequacy, there’s also a strong feeling of hope. Enough that over some downtime in the carriage between workshops, she asks your feelings about a managing position rather than just secretary? She recognizes your competence and the benefit it could bring to the business, so that she can set aside her misgivings. Practicality, over feelings.
>>
>>2204641
As long as we keep our free time, sure. Also less direct oversight will give us more opportunity to corrupt and steal souls. Work at a fixed location if possible, so we can cloak one factory and corrupt it.
>>
>>2204641
Would it change how much free time we'd have?
Also, if you're feeling sick, its fine to take a break for a few days until you're better. Just saying.
>>
>>2204666
>>2204664
It's funny how you two decided on the same thing to ask~~!
And yeah, it's fine to rest~~!
>>2204641
Managing one place would be nice~~. Maybe we can get her to retire and take over? But no, being the front woman for anything is bad~~! Always keep a minion in power, while you puppet them! That's how you do things!

Rolled 54 (1d100)

>>2202035
>>
>>2204827
Way to late, I realize.
>>
>>2204664
Well you could ask her for a workshop closer to where you live. Or anywhere, if you have a different idea.

>>2204666
Well that would be up to you, you could probably negociate with Margot on what you do. She’s just able to recognize your potential and is interested to see how things would go if you’ve got one of the businesses to run.

And I don’t need a break for days, just fatigued. Take it a little easier for a bit, but still keep going.

>>2204676
Well that could explain the hope she has towards you. Retire you’re not so sure though, because Margot herself though older, isn’t an old woman or anything.

>>2204728
>>2204814
Seducing who now?
>>
>>2204863
Margot
>>
>>2204863
Well, we could certainly find somewhere close-ish... somewhere in the nicer part of town is tempting, but the nobility is few, and no doubt the rich and the clergy no doubt occupy the same location.
Some place a bit less scrupulous is also somewhat tempting, but I'm not sure a lady like her would have a store somewhere there. Well, maybe in a place where she can easily get to some of the homeless for some 'good will,' some place like that would be nice.
We actually don't need it to be close to our home, per say....
And I can't say I'm for or against the whole Margot seduction thing. I can't see a clear benefit aside from getting close and exacerbating her corruption a little , nor can I find a particular cost aside from a fairly well known person getting more corrupted than she already is... But but its kind of late for me so I might figure it out in a bit...
>>
>>2204863
Yeah ask for one of the nicer businesses to run instead of moving around all the time. Close to home as well.
>>
>>2204871
I suppose you could try though you needn’t sense that she doesn’t lean that way. Possible, but you’d need to corrupt her a lot more in order to influence that much.

>>2204908
The stores are in town, but the workshops are mostly outside for local laborers. It’s a safe assumption though that if you were to take on a managerial position, it would probably be easier hours. Particularly when you could just train someone to replace you and do the job.
>>
>>2204969
>train someone
Why train when we could just steal their soul and have them do it for us?
Might take a bit of time, but just as doable!
>>
>>2205007
That’s a very good idea actually and entirely possible.
>>
>>2204969
Well, I suppose somewhere well away from the church would do, and close to home is a bonus. A nicer establishment close to the gate for traders and the like, rather than for special service to the upper class.
>>
>>2204969
Would we stop being her assistant as a whole? Or would we manage the place and be her assistant?
>>
>>2205033
Yes the assumption is that you’d be graduating from assistant to manager.
>>
>>2205039
Do we really want to change jobs anons? We would stop meeting potential corrupt victims
>>
>>2205043
Thing is, she meets with the church on a semi-regular basis. While yes, we'd meet new people, that also includes having to duck out whenever she needs to enter said church. Not that we couldn't convince her, but it's only a matter of time before it's them coming out to us, rather than the other way around. And we'll still meet new people. Except this time we get to chose our clients
>>
>>2205050
>>2205043
Well in any case it’s not something you need to decide right now, you can make the choice later. It was just something she said to think about after all, you can make the choice later. You did well for the day though and in thanks she gives you some extra money.

Not half a bad effort then, it’s only late afternoon anyway so plenty of time to still do things in town if you care to, or just head home early.
>>
>>2205249
So, from what I can see, we have a few options.
1, we could head home, plant those sigils, spy on the witch and see if that guy is possessing her at the moment. If he is and we keep hidden enough, we could see what hes searching for (it's probably that knife though). And we could continue to look for some secret compartments and contact hell again.
2, we could head back to the general guard/policing station, do some small favors here and there, try to get it under our control.
3, go on that body guard hunt
4, go to the inn, see Mila.
5, go see vampire lady, talk a bit. Don't see much of a point to this other than the whole dullahan business.
>>
>>2205249
Do we have a way to block off the guys hold on her inside the house? Like a ritual to keep him from controlling her?
>>
>>2205258
You can do something like block it so that she can’t go some place (like enter the houe) while possessed, but you can’t ever interfere with her when he owns her soul.
>>
>>2205283
>We could make it so if she's possessed she can't leave the room she in
My God that's great
>>
>>2205291
Yes, possible. She could burn down the house or something though lol
>>
>>2205308
Just make runes so that she's too horny to do anything~~
>>
>>2205308

I don't think so Mister!
>>2205255
>>2205283
I vote for bodyguard hunting
>>
>>2205317
Sorry to murder your dreams mate, but probably wouldn't work. Complete body control. He could just make it so she doesn't feel anything.
If anything, leaving some false trails of what we plan to do might be worthwhile... let him bite some bait.
Some kind of gravity or binding room, maybe? If shes possessed, some rope shoots over to tie her up? I don't know.
>>
>>2205320
Really the best answer is to not take any precautions at all and do absolutely nothing because it’s worked so far and is safe and also a good idea and you can trust her
>>
>>2205325
Huh. I feel strange taking the advice of a) the QM, and b) a QM that calls himself 'dark whispers.' It's like tempting me to do something and say "yes... this will have absolutely no repercussions at aaaaaall."

Honestly though, I was planning on just observing in the mean time. Let him think we don't know if his snooping.
>>
>>2205329
>Ops never so supportive and encouraging
>Doubting the obvious bait

>>
>>2205331
Now you see, that was my plan. Was. Emphasis on that word. Now, however, he's played his hand. Meaning I'll have to change it up. Unless it's a double bait and he wants me to do this. Unless he wants me to play myself by second guessing everything....

You didn’t say where you were looking though with that 98. Also maybe how, like what you might do to gain service of such a person.
>>
>>2206603
Earlier we said we would look for an Orc bodyguard on the nastier part of town
>>2195575
>>2195583
>>2195601
>>
>>2206616
Find an older orc/half orc who's old and busted after lots of battles, promise him we can return him to his former glory plus money and lots of future battles (and dosh, can't forget riches!), and I think we've got it~~ not sure if we could find someone exactly like that buuuuut~~~
>>
>>2206616
Rocheau isn’t a town big enough to really have a typically “dangerous” side of town, there’s just a few rough places. At least as far as you know.

With that 98 though, if that’s all you want, just an orc bodyguard then sure you can find one. From your few times going about town with Lucas and seeing a few places of note, you go to one of the taverns not on a main road and sure enough there’s a couple orc fellows in there among other people. This isn’t like going to that rough bar on the river, but it’s not like you need some seasoned killer criminal right?

>>2206626
You want a bodyguard who isn’t in his prime? Well, you’re sure you could find one.
>>
>>2206638
Well, I was thinking if we could take his soul, we could modify him back to his prime~~
But, this seems kinda an important decision... I want to talk ship a bit and work out the kinks first with some of the other anons here~~ if they show up today.
>>
>>2206638
A half dragon then?
>>
>>2206657
Half Dragon girl~~~ yeaaaaaah!
...question, would she care/know we'd be a demon?
>>
>>2206661

>>2206657
Sorry friendo, you 98’d your way to a greenie!

>>
>>2206661
>Not wanting dragon cock
What'reyoufuckinggay?
>>
>>2206685
>Not goin' the futa option or just manipulating her body to give her one
Eh, I'd be fine either way~~
Real question is, would some such Dragon persons care or sense our origins~~?
In that case, we'll have to see about others~~
>>
>>2206680
Well it sounded like there was agreement earlier to an orc.

Though realistically, if you’ve got such a strange slant towards dragons, why not just alter a servant to be that way? It’s just as easily the same thing, minus a soul. Then again, I thought the goal was to remain inconspicuous.
>>
>>2206698
Normally we wait for more than one person to vote and when j suggested it it was only me

Sounds like your trying to cheat us out of a good roll

>>2206691
Which other race do you suggest anon?
>>
>>2206698
We're DISCUSSIN MAN.
THIS KINDA THING IS KINDA IMPORTANT.
Also, thanks for the tip~~! It's just generally in fantasy land, Dragons tend to be pretty high tier, so someone with some Dragon bloods got to be stronger than normal, yeah~~? Is it physically noticeable or something~~? Half dragons got to have some physical traits, but someone a bit farther removeds got to be able to hide em or not have em? Or am I wrong~~? Is it one of those spritual feeling things~~?
>>
>>2206708
I forgot my :^) after roll
Don't wanna seem hostile
>>
>>2206708
Let's me think~~ we've got beast men (cat girls and wolf boys ahoy!) Dragon people, greenies, tiny greenies (goblins), halflings and the like... yokai creatures like oni and kitsune... oni would be nice, if they exist~~ or not, since they tend to hate lies. Unless here they dont, if they exist~~
>>
>>2206728
>Buff half/full wolf man
Anon
Bls

Oni are also good
>>
>>2206715
RIght but the point is that to a certain point you can just snap your fingers and get what you want. Like your human disguise could be a dragon disguise if you wanted, at will. The amount of effort you may expend to seek a dragon or semi-dragon, you could just steal someone’s soul and alter them to be whatever you want.

And yes, they will be noticeable. Both physically and spiritually. There’s obvious value there towards power, but if you’re trying to stay under the radar then it’s not exactly a subtle approach.

>>2206728
As far as your present location, you’re among more westerly lands. So things like kami and yokai, though they do exist, are going to be incredibly rare in these lands you’re currently in. There are places where they are normal and in great numbers, but not here.
>>
>>2206761
So ya have a list of different races that exist in this setting? Would be nice to know who we could pick~~ rather than just taking shots in the dark.
>>
>>2206783
Buff full wolf man anon! Imagine! Unf~
>>
>>2206799
Now ya see, what QM just revealed is that we could basically pick any particular person and then modify them to be any race, as long as we know the composition (and we know Dragon, according to QM), I'm guessin~~! So, what we need, rather than race, is lifetime experience~~!
>>
>>2206812
I'm askin' for a list to see what would be most suitable to turn the sorry sap who's going to in our service into, or just find said person.
Unless I've got this all wrong~~
>>
>>2206761
This bodyguard shit is dumb. It'll just draw attention to us and make people wonder why we need one. Have we put up a shield around the house yet? Did Margot approve of us becoming the manager of a single factory?
>>
>>2206846
It's not dumb. There's a swing happy dullahan around! And other dangers on the less law happy side of toen, if we want to journey there~~
Also, just read the thread, edgelord-anon~~!
>>
>>2206783
Pick a race and they exist. Probably.

The real limiter is what you can reasonably expect to find in Rocheau. So more “westerly” sorts of races and creatures are expected. A 100 might have gotten you a kitsune or djinn, but otherwise you’d not expect to find such things here.

>>2206846
>shield around the house
That seems to be the plan for when you return home.
>did Margot approve of us becoming the manager
Yes, it was just up to you to pick which one.

As for bodyguard stuff, well, dumb or not it’s what several people wanted.
>>
>>2206812
But changing em isn't the same anon! It ain't as satisfactory! It ain't the same!

We settled on something yet?
>>
>>2206868
I did read the thread. Most of it is you degenerates screaming about dragon cock.

Traveling is one thing, but we aren't planning to travel, and walking around town with a bodyguard is gonna look weird and start rumors. Especially if it's a seedy looking orc or a half dragon.

>>2206876
Pick whichever is closest to our house, for convenience.
>>
>>2206889
Nope. And I know how you feel T~T it's just not the saaaaame.
Something able to hold off said dullahan would be nice~~ which leaves stronger races like orcs, ogres, oni, Dragon (QM hates this, killjoy) half giants... ah, anything else on that list?
Well, competent swordsman could probably do it too~~ or a mage, with the kitsune thing~~
>>
>>2206903
Eh, there's probably spells out there for 'pay no attention to me' so if we must, we could put down runes on our bodyguard. And you just pick the thing we were mostly joking over, huh? Dragons are strong so they'd be great bodyguards~~ problem is they stick out a lot.
And having a bodyguard is a useful thing~~

>>
>>2207000
Could we have a seasoned yet young orc warrior? Would it be worth the 98? Like a really, really experienced orc
>>
>>2207033
I'd prefer no bodyguard, but if we're gonna take their soul to make them a wolfman I guess I'll accept it.
>>
>>2207038
>>2207039
I guess it’s split between these two.

For what it’s worth, orcs stand out less than a beast person would, like a wolf. Also it’s not terribly uncommon for a person to have a bodyguard in these days, especially on the road. Normally it’s more for nobility, that sort of thing however. But not terribly strange.
>>
>>2207050
So the choice is
>Wolfy Dick
>Thicc and big greenie dick

I'm setting it up for you spoilsport anon! Do it!
>>
>>2207033
Well, doesn't matter as long as they have the experience, does it? We can always upgrade at a later date~~
Adventuring party almost complete! fighter (needs fighting training), alchemists (still incompetent and lacking a soul but SOON), animal tamer (magical animals maybe in the future), soon to acquire tank, and caster~~!
>>
>>2207054
How about we just turn the next person whose soul we take into a big orc to be our bodyguard.
>>
>>2207069
The problem, edgelord-anon, is experience! Experience is absolutely key! So no, we cant just turn whoever we want.
>>
>>2207054
Half orc, half wolfman? But nah, that'd stick out, unfortunately~~!
Yo, QM, can you do pros and cons of each~~? General attitude from the public, racisms, fears of strength, special abilities, that sort of thing?
>>
>>2207077
Actually, most bodyguards just have to look imposing, and I don't think even a 98 will get us a veteran at fighting off dullahan attacks. Plus I dunno, we have some weird level of control over souls we own, we might be able to make them experienced. At least alter their muscles and nervous system to give them the strength and reflexes of a trained warrior.

>>2207087
jesus can we just move on

I'm guessing they're the seasoned ones we're looking for? Any details on them?

Ok orc it is. You approach the lot of them to the side, three orc men and two women of varying ages as well as a troll outside the open window. At first they mistake you for just a waitress of the place, and give you orders for drinks, one of them even slapping your butt. When you remain though and try to get their attention for something, they make an effort to rebuke you. They don’t take you seriously, say they aren’t interested in you and that you’re too small and scrawny, and one of the women fronts you and picks you up by an arm to pull you aside and tell you to leave them alone. That they don’t want to be bothered by little girls. Though she’s being quite forceful about it, she’s not angry yet. You can tell that if she wanted to, her strong green hands could break your arm, to say nothing of the men.

Certainly a tough lot, these tusked brutes, but it seems you’ll need some pitch to catch their attention or at least geet them to take you seriously to listen enough for you to ask what you’re after.
>>
>>2207252
Oh wow we met the thread anons

Tell them to get their minds out of the gutter, we're looking to hire a bodyguard.

Simplest method I can think of (I'm lightly buzzed atm) would be to mention the dullahan. We live not too far from town, so the chances of running across it, while slim, are there.
Or just toss money on the table. I dont know.

So you try to move past the orc lady and manage to drop some money on the table before she can grab you again. One of them immediately grabs the small purse, checking the contents before divvying it up among them.

After that, they’re at least willing to hear you now. You’re looking for a bodyguard? How much can you pay, how much work is it going to be, for how long? You can tell they’re still not taking you seriously, as far as the job itself goes. Like you can probably manage to hire one of them but you could expect them to half-ass the job, unless you acted to ensure loyalty otherwise. Which, being realistic is a good chance I take it. Because from their perspective you’re just some commoner young human woman, so none of them take you seriously and imagine they can get the better of you.
>>
>>2207399
How much can we pay? We don't exactly know how much we get from Margot, Mila and Lucas

We're just looking for one but two would also be good , they're to look after the house, us and our people whenever we go out

As said before, we'll pay them and provide food and lodging since we can accommodate them, if need be we'll even arm them
>>
>>2207399
Not for too long. We'll need some way to take their soul, of course. Maybe if they enter our home we can set up some runes to make people who enter suggestible~~? Hypnosis into signing over their soul~~? If only vamp lady could help in that regard~~

You get 10 silvers a day from your work for Margot, however if you take the manager job the wage will increase. For Mila and Lucas, they’ve been keeping their earning, do you want to start taking from them, or pooling resources?

You do offer a good bargain in any case, again though they’ll probably need to be whipped into shape so to speak, to take the job seriously.

>>2207485
They’re all pretty competent in combat, and to be honest most conventional enemies they could probably intimidate away.

So just one orc, any preferences or just choose one at random? For the roll you had, you don’t have to worry about ending up with a bad one, they’re all decently skilled and capable.

Alright then, you emphasize the need of “bodyguard” so someone who can defend the best is what you want. That would be Ordan, a strapping young orc fellow who has skills with a shield and defending. He gets crap for it from the others whom are all-out attackers, but for his efforts Ordan still has his looks (for an orc) rather than having plenty of proud scars to show off.

He asks for some pay up front then as an initial fee, which he gives to the others along with the amount from your intial bid, and wishes them all well. They go over their plan again and where he can meet up with them if the job doesn’t turn out well or it’s just temporary. After that though, packing up his things, he’s all yours.

”So what’cha want me to call ya? Boss, Miss? Don’t know how ya humans do it.”

The two of you stand outside the bar side by side, as you wonder what’s next to do and Ordan figures to break the ice at least.
>>

Man I'm too drunk for this stuff right now...
Well, we'll give him the basic run down. We live here, who we live with, avoid interaction with mila and merryl (especially the later, due to that devil), he'll be accompanying us, if he knows about that bar... And he can call us miss, for now.
Anything else to discuss?

>>
>>2207647
>>2207651
You can give him a rundown as you walk together towards one of the stables you put your horse up at, but you sense him sizing you up rather than paying attention. Rather bluntly in fact, he asks what you need protecting from as he doesn’t believe you’d have to worry about the headless rider which he himself doubts exists. Though, to be fair his group only just arrived in town.

>>2207659
He refuses to call you Ladyship and laughs at the idea, but Ma’am is fine. You plan to return home together though you realize your horse can’t sit both of you. So maybe next time you’ll swap with Lucas and Mila for the wagon, which you can ride with Ordan while they two share a horse.

So it’s a long walk back together but you reach the estate by sunset. The orc is quite surprised by the place and asks if you’re nobility or something, he thought you were just some commoner girl running away from home after stealing money from her husband, or some girl traveling on daddy’s money and wanting to try out what an orc guy was like. This though seems like a serious job, and he’s definitely consdering things more serious now.

Any effort particular you care to getting him settled in? Or just pawn him off on Merryl (Mila and Lucas aren’t home yet) while you busy yourself with proofing the house?
>>
>>2207753
Settle him yourself until Mila and Lucas come home. Then pawn him off on them. Tell him not to take orders from Merryl. She has bouts of insanity and might need to be stopped/restrained at times. That will be part of his job.
>>
>>2207753
No pawning him off on merryl. We'll get him settled in with a room.... well, I don't know. We could tell him about merryl and tell him to just avoid her. We could tell merryl the same. Though if she's possessed, she might just go and see the new guest anyway.
>>2207786
Yeah, that's a good enough explanation.

>>2207835
Eh
Okay
>>
>>2207824
>>2207795
>>2207786
You occupy yourself with Ordan then for the time being, when you first enter the house introducing him to Merryl whom comes running at the sound of you returniing home, but screams and runs away in fear when she sees a big orc man inside. It’s fairly straightforward though and he doesn’t ask a lot of questions, still just riding the surprise of how “real” this job is turning out to be. Getting his own room now, in a stately home? No one in his family, or even family tree has ever had something as nice an opportunity as this. Thus, he’s all “Yes Ma’am”s and “No Ma’am”s to you, and makes an effort you can sense, to try to live up to what you’re expecting of him. Best you not get cold feet and hire someone else because he didn’t prove his worth right away.

Now that he’s more attentive you can also go over the job better, including the situation you choose to tell him about Merryl, which is fine by him as far as he’s concerned. By the time you’ve given him a tour of the house, shown him where everything is, and explained what’s expected of him, Lucas and Mila are arriving more or less around that time.

Though happy to see you, and feigning politeness towards Ordan, they both try to pull you aside and ask what the hell’s going on and if you’re right in the head. It’s one thing to go and get a guard without letting them know, and an orc at that, but you’re considering letting him stay inside the house even? To sleep there? They ask if you’re serious or if this is a joke, if you want to wake up with an axe in your head, the house on fire and the orc looting it?

Needless to say, they’re less than enthusiastic and may need some assurances before you can pawn off Ordan on them.
>>
>>2207870
Tell them we need him around to watch over Merryl, tying her up every night isn't a perfect solution. If that doesn't satisfy them, they're very corrupt by now. Manipulate them so they're ok with it.
>>
>>2207870
We need protection. They've heard the rumors about that headless rider. And, they're doubting our ability to judge character? Really? We wouldn't have just hired some random brute thatd murder us in the middle of the night.

>>
>>2207905
>>2207891
To be fair the excuse about Merryl and the headless rider is a great one, though calling them racist doesn’t even phase them and they believe their worries are grounded. You can shove Ordan off on them, but they aren’t at all happy about it and only feign being polite.

Now then, warding and preparing the house? What’s on your list of to-dos? And of course, roll for the attempts, if you’re keeping your human disguise.

Yes, ward the house, then go around and hide more sigils. Need to keep them out of sight of the orc at least. While we're doing that, look for any hidden compartments in the house, and put sigils in them if we find any. After that's done, make sure to mix our saliva/blood into the orcs food. We need to corrupt him to ensure his loyalty, and eventually have him hand over his soul. Yes keeping the disguise up.
In the future, we need to find people willing to trade their souls, preferably for a favor we can grant. Can we detect that type of desperation? Is there a ritual that will let us do so?

So with Ordan out of your hair, you make your way around the grounds and particularly the house, performing the right rituals and marking the right sigils, so that the home itself is near enough imperceptible in the ways of corruption and demonic taint. You’ve been around the grounds a few times since moving in, so you’ve a good idea of where markings should go, and you do such a good job of it that you think it to be almost a perfect barrier. It would be better and easier if you were your true demon form, however at this point only about a bishop could notice something was wrong from the outside and would have to get close to do so.

After doing all this and going about to check back over them for good measure, you hear some banging and eventually low calling from the entrance to the grounds. Making your way over thinking it to be a bishop because why not, it’s actually the highwayman, your soulless slave! And he’s got with him a young lady too! In keeping up pretenses of hiding the truth, he introduces you to this girl whom he’s been sweet on since his time as a highwayman. She helped him from time to time by taking things he stole and selling them in town for him. Well finding out he escaped justice, she agreed to run away with him when he found her again. So here they are, and he’s sold her on the idea that they could hide out together here for awhile with you, an aquaintance who may or may not be aware of his criminal nature.

Of course this is his mark, for you, another soul for you to prey upon as he said he would do so. First and foremost he needs that kiss from you (ideally out of sight of the girl) to not die, but after that and with this new quarry, he’s hoping he’s earned his keep that you won’t just kill him off. It’s not great, but he’ll take soul fetcher over eternal torment...
>>
>>2208149
Hm? What happened to the 100? Or are you saving that for the next task or something?
Anyway, I can see three options. One, we just kill him, take the girls soul, be done with the both of them and burn them in hellfire. Two, we kill the girl and take her soul, continue to let him run around and fetch souls. 3, we transfer his knowledge over to her, kill him, and use her as our soul runner instead. He's proven he'll betray at a moment's notice, so if he ever does find a loophole, he'll ditch us (highly unlikely, but maybe there's a small chance there?).
And there's option 4, make both soul runners, but I'm not sure if anyone would go with that.
>>
>>2208216
And for fetching souls, since not all are probably as easy to get as that, he'll need to get them from far away from here, not anywhere near town, so increasing thr instant death counter by a few days is probably a good idea if we're going that route too.
>>
>>2208216
I was thinking we could get him to knock her out and do a ritual to take her soul then kill her after that send him back to the look for more?

Changing soul runners also sounds good, she'd a girl and innocent by the looks of it so we could scare her into it
>>
>>2208216
I want option 1.

>>2208240
I thought souls had to be given willingly. That's what makes getting them tough.
>>
>>2208240
Someone unassuming, pretty (we could make her prettier!), with monstrous strength that we could give her~~
>>
>>2208216
>saving that for the next task or something

Kind of that, kind of shared between two different tasks. You’ll understand the idea once it comes to it, since these are a lot of actions to go through.

>>2208216
Or you could keep her, another servant, while he continues to fetch souls. Or whatever, there’s obviously a few options yes. I’m just checking that, in this moment, you’re alright with his offer and will allow them to come and stay at the house? Later after deciding you can act against them.
>>
>>2208270
fuck that, take her soul and kill them both

>>
>>2208277
Supporting, i don't think we can take them in safely
>>
>>2208256
I think QM mentioned a ritual we could do to force extraction.
>>2208270
Yeah, we can't take them in as is. Could force them to find a hole to hide in in the village or something. He's got to have a few hidey holes.
>>
>>2208289
Why would we even take them in? Just send him off. He's expendable, as is the girl. If he's not getting souls, he's better off dead. So either he does or runs off to go get more souls right now. If he wants to sleep, sleep in a wagon
>>
>>2208277
Only thing to keep in mind, while you can just steal her soul, it’s worth is not as great as if she gives it to you willing. It’s the difference between like, owning some paper currency which is backed by gold, or owning the actual gold bar.

Basically if you steal someone’s soul, they haven’t unforgivingly condemned themself so you can’t properly send it to the Hellscape, nor can you get the full extent of use out of it. So one is ok to do in a pinch if you need now, but the other if you can afford the time investment has a better payoff.
>>
>>2208329
We can give her an ultimatum then. Either give us her soul and go off with him to become our soul runner, or die here. Whether we actually do that... well...
>>
>>2208329
Yeah, I'm guessing that he didn't fill her in on the demon thing. Make a deal with her now, tell her she can be with her highwayman and you'll shelter them, but you need her soul.

>>2208337
Please no. No ultimatums yet. We can be more subtle, not put her on edge.
>>
>>2208329
I like the idea of getting souls for basically doing nothing. Even if it is for a little bit, thats still more than zilch. At least keep one for getting more souls is what I want to say~~
>>
>>2208348
Cant we just modify them so they don't need sleep? Food I can understand, but being unaffected by differences in weather, a bolstered immune system, and no sleep would be convenient for someone fetching souls. But, of course, you'd rather do away with the free souls and kill them both.
Yeah, we can do that first... and then the ultimatum should she refuse.
>>
>>2208365
We can do that stuff with victim #3

Right now I want our powerbase in hell to get what they need. This way they won't fall apart on us, and will even be able to start supporting us. If they need to trade those souls away, they can, and we don't need to worry about those two being used against us. Once that base is shored up, we can keep some souls for ourselves and force them to grab others. Our bodyguard would be good for this. Seems like he knows a lot more people than the highwayman did, and isn't a criminal to boot.
>>
How bout we use the guy to threaten to kill her and then tell her we'll stop if she gives us her soul!
>>
>>2208337
>>2208348
Well without her having known beforehand that you’re a demon, and to have suddenly an ultimatum like this sprung upon her, is quite distressful. She goes from confused, to dismissive, to scared all very quickly once she realizes the truth or at least that the highwayman is in cahoots (either with the truth, or your insanity). She’s really too panicked to give a coherent answer as he restrains her and tries to keep her from screaming for help, but when pushed to the point, she fearfully and fitfully refuses. If indeed you are truthful and really are a demon, she’s not giving up her soul and thus earning eternal damnation, just to avoid being killed. Even though, she pleads not to be killed of course.

It seems you might have come on a little too strong, or rather that she’s not as corrupt as the highwayman is. Not like she’s a shining beacon of virtue, but she’s not as desperate or sinful as he was to have been ok with eternal suffering of the Hellscape if it meant a chance to escape death in the moment.

A little more rudely than put, but he calls you an idiot for such a blunt approach, and asks what to do with her now?
>>
>>2208384
Seems risky to do that at this juncture. We can kill one, give that soul to trade freely, have the other get a soul, which we could give to hell to not trade, and once we get the orcs we can just kill off the other one, unless said runner proves to be better than they initially seemed.
>>
>>2208398
Well, thats what I get for doing things drunk.
This is both our faults, really...
Ah... well, we could just tell her we could take her soul unwillingly. Someone please think for me for a moment.
>>
>>2208387
That's a backup for if the altruistic front fails. If we start using threats, we can't pretend to be playing nice anymore. Plus, she might not be a bad person who is going to hell, so she'd prefer to die than give us her soul.

>>2208398
Agh, I knew it. Ok, whatever. Cut our losses. Do the ritual and take what we can, then kill them both.
>>
>>2208398
Welp
No decisions reached yet this happens
>>2208414

Supporting, kill both and get her unwilling soul
>>
>>2208418
Again with the kill both... well, I'm not completely against it, but I still think we could benefit more by keeping one alive.
And QM said that our situation in hell changed because of that one soul... or would it not be because of the restrictions we put on it? I'd change my mind if something is said on that front
>>
>>2208413
Hold on, let's try this first
>>
>>2208438
>>2208414
As you guessed, she’s not trusting you for anything and she’s not risking damnation. You can threaten to take her soul anyway, but she hopes and believes, by her own faith that she’ll still find salvation even against your wickedness.
>>
>>2208465
Time to kill both then?
>>
>>2208465

Well as crazy as you may feel about what to do with the bodies, the slight majority is merely for stealing the girl’s soul, killing and disposing of both bodies.

Which you can do well enough, the highwayman helps you drag the girl off into the woods, you prepare the ritual area and perform it. In a hellish display her soul is torn from her body to her screaming and crying lament, after which you summarily kill her, and then to his own dismay the highwayman right after. Afterward, you incinerate both bodies with infernal flames till nothing but a burned patch of ground remains, and a little soul to keep in your pocket so to speak.

NOW, back to the house to pick up things where they were left off.

So you’ve thoroughly checked the outside of the house, about as well as you can make it without turning full demon. Now for the inside to defile the place up and down.

Interestingly, now that you’ve a chance to do things more carefully and precisely, you start to uncover little tidbits here and there about the former owner. More discrepancies, more slip ups on his part, or things he didn’t care about leaving. Hidden desk compartment leads to hidden floorboard, leads to hidden wall panel, leads to hidden column space, leads finally to hidden staircase behind a hidden door in the bookshelves. You follow it down to find what must be some secret room hidden in a space within the basement, which can’t be accessed from it. Stored within though is quite literally a treasure trove of what you can only assume is the former owner’s life. A trunk full of actual treasure and magical goods, a few crates around with old equipment, weapons and clothes, some sort of jolly roger hanging on the wall, and beneath it a table completely covered in paperwork and maps. It would take a dedicated search and time to properly go through the place, but just to a cursory glance you know you’ve stumbled upon something big here.

>How do you proceed?

>>2208653

Make sure to carve sigil here too

Check the paperwork for any lists of what's stored in here after closing the entrance to this place

Nice, sigils everywhere, even visible areas, since this room is hidden anyway. Leave everything for now and don't tell anyone about it. At night when everyone is asleep sneak down, go demon mode so we don't feel the lack of sleep, and do a detailed perusal.
>>
>>2208675
Never assume the end of the road really is the end~~! Always make sure there isnt another secret passage behind that secret passage (at least one for escape), And place some boobytraps of our own! Freeze intruders in space-time!

>>2208684
Chill it's our house. If any traps get set off, it'll be because merryl stumbled into them.

Also I gotta sleep
>>
>>2208696
Just saying in the off chance someone does happen to stumble here, we can set somethong up so they'll trigger a trap to freeze them in place~~
And all I was asking was to check if there was a secret passage in here that'd lead out of the house as well~~ a secret escape route!
Night, edgelord-anon!
>>
>>2208667
Checking the papers and all would be a dedicated search, and take a good bit of time. But marking the place up is easy enough.

>>2208668
You can probably obscure the steps you took to finding the room. However it won’t help against someone who has demonic power (Merryl) from finding them.

Though I think it’s safe to assume that in all your proofing and sigil-leaving, you wanted to specify some area of the house that Merryl can’t be possessed in? To do so with the power to trump her owner though, you need to do it as a true demon. Basically you claiming the space as your own, so that no other demon can mess around within it.
>>
>>2208751
But if we do that, then all that'll do is say "look here, look here! There's a magical secret secret here that you should investigate~~!"
I don't really know what to do here~~ maybe only in this secret room?
>>
>>2208751
Alright, we can come here during the night to safe proof one of the rooms leading to it

Have we been influencing Lucas into getting interested in merry?

You could do the secret bookshelf entrance and this room, both to try and hide them.

>>2208768
Lucas has probably been to that point for awhile now, the factor if you cared was Mila, though again, she’s slipping towards that point anyway. Nothing some convincing couldn’t solve.

Might come off weird to Ordan if he finds out though...

That could do~~ would she feel our form with the runes we set up though~~? Or would that hide our true form while we do that?
>>
>>2208778
Time for some fun now that reason and killjoy anon aren't here!

>>2208784
Let's do that room to hide it, Mila doesn't have to know! And if we wake her up with enough convincing and influencing she'll join!

And what does Ordan care about his patrons sexuality and private affairs? He even said he thought we were going to sample him because we were curious!
>>
>>2208798
>>2208799
If you don’t care that’s fine, just saying beforehand.

So you’re trying to get Merryl involved, while you further proof the house (the secret room) in true demon form? Well that would certainly distract her from noticing you doing such a thing. Just to clarify though, are you trying to proof it where she can’t be possessed while in the house, or just trying to better conceal the secret room?
>>
>>2208862
It's already pretty well concealed so i vote to make it so she can't go there possessed
>>
>>2208865
Yeah. any way to make it so that anyone aside from us who enters or leaves forget what they've seen~~? She could still relay the information or take things out of the room, so we'd have to prevent that as well~~
>>
>>2208889
Sounds good
>>
>>2208889
>>2208865
Yeah that could work, and is possible. So that’s the plan? Busy Merryl with the others, while you add the final touches to the secret room and entrance?

How are you going to get Merryl “tied up” so to speak, then?
>>
>>2208899
>THE threesome and possible foursome plan
>Ask Lucas to meet us in Merryl's room sometime after they've gone to bed
>Make sure he gets the hint of what we'll be doing
>It's up to him if he proposes the idea to Mila
>Rock Merryl's world like last time
>Lotsa kissus and cuddles
>When Lucas arrived bind her hands
>Have fun with both
>If Mila catches us influence into a foursome
>Outlast them all
>Go safe proof everything after they're out

If Ordan interrupts i need control plz
>>
>>2208906
Could just let him know we'll be busy and not to disturb us~~
>>
>>2208910
Could work too but i have something in mind that'll hopefully work

He seemed eager enough to be hired when he thought we were a daddys girl looking to sample an Orc, and I plan to use that
>>
>>2208916
With us~~! But you see, upon an orgy, he might not be so eager... as some people were earlier to the thoughts of a threesome~~
Oh, also, we'd need to ward that room so no ink or sharp items go in other than with us~~
>>
>>2208906
Well well, unless you’re going demon form, you’re going to need to roll to outlast Lucas, since you’ve turned him into quite the stud.

It is the source of our bodily needs, wants, desires, and impulses, particularly our sexual and aggressive drives.
The ego (Latin for "I",[18] German: Ich)[19] acts according to the reality principle; i.e., it seeks to please the id's drive in realistic ways that will benefit in the long term rather than bring grief.[20]

So your plan is to perfectly proof the secret room so that none could have a hope of finding it, the doing of which requires your true demon form. This however would alert Merryl and her owner, so you need some way of distracting her, some way of subduing her so that you can sneak of to do the work. And you think you have just the way; sic Lucas on the poor girl. Yes, your champion, your original mortal follower, servant, lover, and friend (if demons had such things) since coming into this world. It seems Merryl has a thing for him too? Well why wouldn't she, your improvements of him have only been getting better, why not give her a taste? And, if you just so happen to be there to oversee the "proceedings", well that much the better. As of late you've been busy the last few days and nights with other things, so Mila's had him all to herself. Time to see how he's been improving.

So after a big dinner with everyone, including Ordan, while some of the others clean up or find ways to busy themselves for the evening, you pull Lucas aside. With some small privacy he surprises you with a deep hug and a kiss, saying how he's glad to have some time like this and he's missed it with you. Flattering, a nice thought, but you've got bigger fish to fry. You subtly and sweetly tell him about Merryl's feelings and how you've convinced her of things. He doesn't need convincing himself and when you begin to explain what you have in mind, you can feel the vigor stirring in him in anticipation. He's not so bold as to involve Mila initially, but he'd be raring to go to get to know Merryl, so to speak. What a depraved stud, he's little better than some lusty beast looking for more mates. So you try and hash the rest of the details but he's already imagining how things will go, all he needs to do it wait for Mila to go to sleep and then he's all yours. Or, Merryl's, as it were.

So the rest of the evening passes by pleasantly enough, and as it gets later people start to retire to bed. First Lucas and Mila, with him giving you a knowing look, not long after Ordan looking forward to sleeping in his own room and bed for once. Seems like a good time then, to go with Merryl to her room, and when she leaves you sneak after her and surprise her at the door. She's bashful over what she rightly assumes you have in mind for your being there, though she's no idea what's in store after...

We put some of ourselves into ordans food right?
>>
>>2210963
The two of you take to her bed then, undressing her and yourself to share some intimacy. As before she's so dearly enamored and appreciative towards you, but you know secretly that you're just getting things warmed up as it were. You have some fun with her and by some twenty minutes or so later she's putty in your hands, that she even lets slip how she noticed you changed her appearance again and how endlessly grateful she is, if only she could repay how much you spoil her.

Speak of the devil then, as around this time you hear a knock at the door which startles Merryl but you know exactly what to expect. Having her to wait, she almost panics when you get up as you are in a state of undress to answer the door like it's nothing, but when she sees who it is...

"Hope I'm not interrupting anything?"

Lucas is there with an easy smile, as you can feel the eagerness in him. Merryl out of propriety covers herself up, but as he enters and makes his way over to sit on the bed as well she gives up on that pretense as her own feelings start to build. That hope, that endless hope in her you can feel even across the room. You stand by Lucas's side, undressing him some while trying to drag it out as long as you can, before giving him the go ahead.

Poor Merryl doesn't stand a chance, and though she's ready and willing, she wasn't ready for him and how well you've improved him. You don't want to get in the way but join in as best you can, sitting beside to give instructions or just appreciate Lucas at work, taking the chance to kiss and get a feel of him (your handiwork) making use of all you've given him, and holding Merry's hand for support. He isn't interested in her getting just a taste either, and he more than wears her out, by the end leaving her a panting exhausted mess but so satisfied (and quite noisy to be sure of it) that she can do little but feebly ask for a kiss. Lucas, swelling with pride at having taken himself yet another woman, is more than happy to oblige her, leaning down to grace her with some gentle intimacy after rocking her world.

>...
>>
>>2211082
This seems to be your chance then to take your leave. You had your fun leading your champion along like the good servant he is, in doing what you've made him to, so now you can let go of his leash and busy yourself elsewhere. Rubbing his shoulders then and a kiss on the neck while he's busy with Merryl, you go to get up but feel yourself stopped.

"And where do you think you're going? You're not getting off that easily."

Reaching back to grab you by the wrist, Lucas holds you fast despite your efforts to wriggle free. You've got things to do, it was nice and it was fun but he's satisfied right? He can just content himself with Merryl now. He finishes up with her pretty quickly though, giving her a chance to take a rest after wearing her out. Plus when she sees him grabbing you, she bashfully scooches over to watch and see what happens. Taking the chance, Lucas gets back up to pull you close into his arms now, and lavish you with affection and intimacy.

"Ahaha yes, that's n- ah! Th-That's nice but isn't it enough? There's something I h- hnn! S-Something I have to do, but you can just s- mhm! S-Stay with Merryl?"

"I already took care of Merryl."

"Th-Then... Mila! Right, I'm sure she's w- oh gods!"

"I already took care of Mila. You're all that's left."

He cuts you off, your complaints and resistance falling short when you feel your improvements to him firsthand, an in depth experience, so to speak. Try as you might to stop it or free yourself, you've made your own undoing in making Lucas too much of a stud. Continually improving him unchecked without seeing yourself if it was getting too much. You figured, a lover enough for you, maybe even Mila too. But he's man enough for all three of you now, to your horror and pleasure. Probably in any other way you could defeat him, for the amount of corruption in this room alone empowering you between him and Merryl alone, but now that he's got you in his loving embrace, it's simply not enough. At least, not enough for your mortal form, which betrays you. Already the mortal world is so enjoyable with all the pleasant experiences otherwise, but this... you weren't prepared, and just like Merryl before you Lucas rocks your world. So well, that the sensations, the pleasure overruns you, and you lose yourself in the feeling of him on you, against you, in you. A demoness? Amman, the evil being poised to ruin and take over the mortal realm? No, not right now. Just Amelie, the poor little mortal, human woman caught up in the love of her man. Even such normally abhorrent emotions as feeling love for him, imagining a pleasant mortal future together without all that Hellscape evil nonsense, even getting actually married and living a virtuous life, start to creep in.

Truly, if for however (intense) brief a time, though it seems to go on and on for how amazing it all feels, the beast and the prey have changed roles. Now Lucas is the master, and you the servant.
>>
>>2211236

Damnation be, he's good.

"She sounds pretty cute when she's not in control, don't you think Merryl?"

Betrayed by your own body, how shameful. Especially for you, to be taken advantage of by a servant. You can't bear to look at either of them... though you can bear to snuggle beside him afterward, burying your face against Lucas's chest with an arm of his around you, the other around Merryl. What a hot, sweaty, and exhausted mess the three of you are after all that, still panting among the sheets. Slowly, amid the afterglow you all catch your breath and settle down again, steady your still racing hearts, but you're definitely worn out. Even Lucas, stud that he is, after making his way through all three of you almost back to back. Needless to say, your improvements have taken their toll.

Maybe you had plans this evening, things to do, but you're much to tired for that now. Or at least you tell yourself that. Maybe it's that you're just too comfortable, too satisfied to remain nestled here beside your champion after being claimed as rightfully his. In any case, you won't be able to manage anything productive tonight. Even though you can feel immense power surging through the area and through yourself after such a foul, corrupting event as what just transpired, your mortal form is overcome with lethargy. Comfort, satisfaction, content. You can act as you wish here, in bed or the room, but otherwise you're much too cozy and sleep is much too inviting, for you to do anything else.

>>
>>2211288
Yes you did, earlier. Though you're not sure what they've done with it since.

>>2211056
Yes you did. Some spit, some blood, etc. It's not as strong as if it were your true demon form doing it, and it will take some time for sure, but it's certainly corruptive upon the orc.
>>
>>2211279
I hope he didn't make us get pregnant
But I'm pretty sure Mila must be pregnant by now, let's hope Merryl too, Mila's baby would earn us a valuable soul but I dunno about Merryl since she got no soul

If we can't do anything right now let's just cuddle to sleep with both of them, we'll take care of things tomorrow after work or in the morning if we can

Anyway I'm going to sleep, G'night Y'all!
>>
>>2211295
Love him? Why would you tell him you love him? These wretched mortals are going to be nightmarishly punished for their impudence, for making a fool of you. Eternal torment and suffering is nothing compared to what horrors you're going to visit on them for even daring to-

"I... love you, Lucas."

He responds in kind, and draws you close for a kiss. Bastard.

>>2211296
If such a thing should happen, you'd be able tell right away. Both in terms of when she's being possessed, and when she starts to move. Lucas too, if he's got her in his other arm, is going to be aware if she tries to get up. Should be pretty safe.

Otherwise then, you drift off to sleep.

---

You awaken the next day to knocking at the door, Mila asking (who she assumes to be inside) Merryl if she's seen either you or Lucas around. She also whispers loudly through the door that she feels uncomfortable being the only one up (as far as she can tell) and alone with the orc in the house, and would like some other company.

"Sleep well, ladies?"

Lucas asks, jostling the two of you gently in his arms, himself groggy after being woken so suddenly, but ready to get up for the day even though he's immensely content to just laze in bed all morning with the two of you at his side.
>>
>>2211338
Tell her to come in

Sneak post before bed
>>
>>2211338
Well, we do have to get up and do things, so she could probably jump in for a bit, but we've got other things to do.
Such as check up on how hell is doing. Now that the souls are free to trade and whatnot, it's pertinent to see what's changed for us.
>>
>>2211365
You're sure you want to call her in to see the state you're all in?

>>2211385
Are you going to find some secluded place outside on the grounds to make the fire, or pick a room and lock yourself inside? Hope no one eavesdrops?

>>2211394
Ok time to dial back Lucas' enhancements. Also about sensing desperation as mentioned before, can we do it? Would be a good way to find people willing to bargain their souls.
>>
>>2211738

>>
>>2211685
Kind of a one trick mind, huh? Did you turn into a succubus overnight?

>>2211399

>>2211738
Hellscape denizens, at least any worth their soul can inherently seek out mortals’ greatest desires. You’re confined to the material plane here though so you lost some of that connection, though you can of course just rely on your minions to handle that part for you, the target scouting while you handle the rest.

Or of course you can go about it the hands on approach and get to know someone, at least as an acquaintance, and come to sense what their desires are yourself. Either way, the important thing to note is that normally Hellscape denizens can make contracts, deals and such with mortals to grant them a wish or something in exchange for their soul. As you are currently severed from the Hellscape, you can make deals and contracts and whatnot, but you lack the infernal ability to just grand wishes and/or otherwise make good on that part of such exchanges. So through this process, you’ll want to either make the deals based around what you have within your ability to give, or to basically act as a proxy middle (wo)man for one of your minions so that technically they’re the one finalizing the deal through you which they (still being in the Hellscape) are able to grant.

So if for example some victim wanted vast wealth in exchange for their soul, well a Hellscape denizen could just snap their fiery fingers and a wagon full of treasure could materialize out of thin air for the victim. You though (lacking that direct infernal state of being with the Hellscape as you’re currently confined to the material plane) would have to actually obtain said wealth and give it to them, you couldn’t just will it to being. You have to actually make the things happen to their wishing, you can’t just supernaturally make the wish automatically come true.
>>
>>2211911
What if I've always been? Anyways i say we do that, keep him busy while we are there our devil business
>>
>>2211769
Just raising his submissiveness should be enough.
>>2211911

>>
>>2211911

Any desires we can fulfill ourselves we'll keep the soul for our personal power, ones we need the wish granting abilities of our minions below for will be given to them.

You can if you want, though you might need to take the day off unless you want to wait till you get home again from work.

In the meantime though before leaving, you can seclude yourself in the study and get back into contact with your minions in the Hellscape. They are immensely grateful to see you, and not nearly as much urgency or worry. It seems that soul you sent them went a long way! With it, they were able to take back your own little infernal fort which you called home in the Hellscape. With your helping them, they were able to oust the traitorous scum, reinforce it against potential attack, and firmly claim it in your name. Some good news because of this, since although they weren’t able to regain all the benefits which the fort had once had, they were able to capture one of the various facilities in tact. Your choosing, what that happened to be;

>The Armory, a cache of infernal arms and armor which was used by your minions and yourself, providing you with an amount of Hellscape armaments
>The Warren, a den for the imps to live and busy themselves, providing you with a steady supply of imps
>The Library, a repository for forbidden knowledge, providing you with a source of profane texts which can expand your repertoire of demonic rituals
>The Larder, attached to the despoiled kitchen and normally used for storing goods and consumables, providing you with a source of Hellscape common goods as well as the chance to temporarily store and massively corrupt items which you can transfer back and forth
>The Vault, a super secure storage room mostly for souls but anything of value really, although it was emptied it does provide you hereafter with an impenetrable defense of any wealth you send below (including souls)

Or if you have an idea for some sort of room, or facet which a demonic fort in the Hellscape might have, you can suggest it. Roll of course, for the viability.

Which will allow for regular use/summoning of imps without the need of rituals or binding precautions, as long as you define a domain as belonging to you, true demoness you. So if you lose your disguise and re-proof the house, then within the house for example you can have imps at your beck and call however and whenever you need.

Assuming that’s the choice then, off to work? Ordan is up and ready to go, waiting for you alread, whether you want him to come along or stay and mind the house.
>>
>>2213452
Sounds good. Off to work, leave Ordan at the house to watch Merryl, when we get back investigate goods in hidden room.
>>
>>2213484
If you’re leaving him behind then you’re able to take your horse as usual. A ride into town to be there in time for your job, Margot arriving not long after you. Make a roll for your effort at the workday then.

What a perfectly good workday, as you tail Margot and suit her every wish, whim and need. Once again you please her with your service that she has an immense amount of pride in you. Because of this, she’s more than certain she wants to let you have an attempt at managing one of the small businesses, before just a thought but now with her actually asking you to choose whichever you like and by day’s end she’ll have the whole thing sorted out and you’ll be a new manager!

Aside of that you also sense positive scheming from her, as she starts to pry you for personal information under the cover of just trying to be sure about things before letting you helm a business. Most of the questions and the overall sentiment though, revolve around your relationship status and availability.
>>
>>2214150
She knows already doesn't she? We're to be married soon, *happily* married

So we're free for now?
>>
>>2214218
That's the story you gave her, but you sense skepticism in her. Like you can tell her again, but she just brushes it off as her being forgetful.

Otherwise though yeah you're free, after (if) you want to pick out a business place to manage. Assuming the one nearest to your home, tomorrow she'll have Roland take you there and help you get situated.
>>
>>2214268
Yeah closest one is fine

Now to the house to keep working on the treasure room!
>>
>>2214312
Yeah. Already made my view on what kind of location I'd like.
>>
>>2214318
>>2214312
Just double checking. So the ride back home is plain enough, you just want to return after work as soon as you can. And putting up your horse after seeing to him, there's Merryl and Ordan there to greet you. Well, Merryl greets you, Ordan is just there as you wished, keeping an eye on her.

So, two things you seemed to have in mind; searching the room fully or proofing the house as a full demon. Either will take a roll, though I'm assuming you don't want to do the latter yet when Lucas and Mila could return home and see you?
>>
>>2214464
Yeh, let's fully explore the treasure room and see if there's a detailed list of what's inside

So having Ordan keep Merryl occupied, you sneak your way off to the secret room under the study. Again you're greeted by quite the sight when you get down there, marveling at the little treasure trove, before you start searching through the place. Rather than just ransacking it though, you decide to take a methodical approach and categorize everything. First comes organizing it all though, it's a big mess, but after you can see what you'e got on your hands here...

All in all the effort takes about two hours, for your mortal form. It would have been much quicker as a demon, or blindingly fast with imp help, but no need to attract Merryl's attention possibly. After it's all said and done, you've got everything laid out and separated into areas of the room by what's what. Your inventory of it all is as follows;

>Writings and paperwork
A large collection of personal books like journals and a mass of paperwork. Mostly relating to the former owner, talking about his "former" life as an air raider for one of those fancy magical floating boats. You don't have the time to read through it all thoroughly in favor of just organizing it, but there's also several books on etiquette, practices and information of this land. In particular a few on noble tendencies and noble house/crest identification. To your best guess, the former owner made off big and then had to go on the run from up above. He crashed his boat somewhere and hid it away, before coming to meet the original owner of this estate, and pulling a similar scheme as you did, eventually faking his identity as the original owner and pretending to live as a low noble of these lands. One other prominent item of interest, a map of this and surrounding regions, marked with a few locations indicating different people. It seems the "captain" former owner, and four others ended up settling down here around (relatively) these parts.

>Riches and loot
A chest of treasure, and a few boxes here and there of swag. By gold, a rough estimate of 5K in savings, as well as several items of interest such as a few gems, and minor magic items (which you can further roll if you like to suggest up to three, my determination based on the roll if they're fair to suggest). Also a small strongbox which you can't open for the life of you.

>Equipment and memorabilia
A small stash of weapons and armor, mostly common but a few strange ones fitting of an air raider including a couple guns. A small wardrobe with an amount of clothes likely from the former owner's days above including an old captain's uniform you think, and then a few odd items which would benefit an air raider like a spyglass, a globular compass, things like that. Some strange hunks of machinery of varying sizes (though none larger than mini-fridge), and last but not least a jolly roger probably belonging to the former owner.
>>
>>2214607
A lockbox...? Interesting...
And so he did have associates. What to do with them? No doubt they may come one day.
And as for the possible magic items... I'll have to think on that. Perhaps in the morning. Work today has really taken it's its toll on me... I wouldn't even know what to suggest.
>>
>>2214607
I HAVE AWOKEN.

How quick is the transition between human disguise and demon form? If just a few seconds, go demon and open that strongbox.
>>
>>2214657
We sell them the same story!

Also posting from school
>>
>>2214851
It takes a couple of minutes to drop the disguise, and couple minutes more to reform it. Still pretty short though.
>>
>>2214851
Supporting this, we can secure everything, open it then go back to normal
>>
>>2215723
Are you only interested in doing so for this room then?
>>
>>2215735
For now. We'll cover the whole estate later. We'll tell Lucas about us first so he can keep a lookout.
>>
>>2215735
Yo.
Would going demon for a few seconds break the box?
I'd rather see if there was some way to open the box. Doubt the guy wouldn't have wirriten how to open it, considering he documented most other things. Might be hidden somewhere though, in case he forgot or something. Perhaps a birth date or the formation of his crew?
>>
>>2215875
It's some sort of magic lock, not a combination box or anything. There might be some way to open it but you've no clue since it's not like it takes a key to open that could be hidden in here somewhere.
>>
>>2215904
Hmmm... how secure is a box such as this? I'm wondering if it's better to just try opening it through our demonic powers (although I'm not sure if that would destroy whatever's in it, wether through something that detects tampering or though our attempts), or to just leave it alone for now and try opening it properly, and see if we could use it ourselves after, if it can hold off things like witches and whatnot...
Like, I'm wondering if we can use our abilities to get some kind of hint for it. "Requires an audio cue" "requires the presence of an object" "requires to be touched" or something, then work from there. .
>>
>>2215934
As a full demon you could just overpower the magic and compel it to open. As you are, you can try to perform a ritual against it to learn what it might need to open, though it will require a roll.

>>
>>2216134
Sure, you don't have to open it. You've still got a ton of other good stuff that you found by chance. Unless you had something in mind with all the stuff, you can expect by now that Lucas and Mila would be home.
>>
>>2216155
Well, thats just my opinion. I'll wait to see what the others would prefer to do with it first.

>>
>>2216281
Fuck
So
What do we do?
I'm pretty focused on something else right now so i can't come up with something
>>
>>2216304
Well, its locked away hard enough so we can't get at it, meaning whatever's inside has to be important. So, I just say leave it and come back to it later.
If we can figure it out, we can use it to store stuff and possibly not destroy what's inside.
It's evening/night right now, so there's our might night time action left. We could..m probably do something with those minions we recently acquired. I dont know what, but apparently thry can disguise themselves as with what happened with merryl? Send one to the vampire lady, maybe?
Like, there's not much to be done eith them, except maybe send them out on kidnapping missions to force some souls, the brute force approach. Which I'm sure that other anon wanted.
>>
>>2216155
Overpower It In demon mode
>>
>>2216326
Sending them to kidnap would be good but we would have to scout ahead first

>>2216343
This is also an option
>>
>>2216421
Only thing I'm worried about is if we do that whatever's inside might have a failsafe to prevent tampering. Documents, especially something like a treasure map, might have something like that. If it's some kind of magical item though, less so.
>>
>>2216447
But if there's nothing here that might let us open it what other choices are there?
>>
>>2216463
Wait until we're stronger or go full demon, try again? Magic to discern might be too strong for now, but not later. Might even be able to pick up a different ritual.
But if you want to break it and gander, go on ahead.
>>
>>2216488
Should probably listen to you desu
So what now senpai?
>>
>>2216506
Night time activities are more your area, aren't they?
Well, anyway. Could probably get dinner, ask Mila if she's heard anything again, talk to our bodyguard on what he knows of the headless rider (he's a mercenary, I'm sure he's picked up one thing or another) send some imps to spy on those other crew members, see if our resident vampire could use said imp for anything, go over exactly what abilities imps have in relation to kidnapping or getting close to certain kinds of targets.... Not sure what else.
>>
>>2216525
Sounds good, Vamp lady assistance especially
>>
>>2216326
Yes indeed it’s night, but it’s not that late so you can act as you please.

The point of the Warren in your Hellscape fort though isn’t so much the ability to summon imps since you could always do that, but rather that you always have a potentially huge number on hand. For summoning, well you could keep sending a constant stream of them at some task till complete. However if you designate some space while demonic as “your own”, then that huge number could venture here without need of summoning while still being loyal. And up here, well you could do with them whatever you wanted, with a huge number of imps. Labor? Chores? Rituals? Basically just a legion of loyal little busybodies.

So you could send one to the vampire, but then that was always something you could have done, not something new. Or kidnapping missions, though as said that’s like a constant stream of them at a particular task.

>>2216525
If you want more rumors from Mila, go ahead and make a roll to see if she’s heard anything good. As for Ordan, he is something of a hired blade yes, but he’s new to this area so knowing about the headless rider isn’t a fair expectation.
>>
Rolled 68 (1d100)

>>2216797
Well, a singular imp to tell her that we've come into a rather sizable work force. I don't really know what to send them out for, really.... well, could send them far out of town to go kidnap someone unimportant. I wouldn't know what to do with such a thing at this juncture. I prefer fine needles to battering rams.

Nothing too amazing, but from the sound of things at the tavern which Mila has overheard, it seems that some regular trading caravans have not even gotten robbed but turned up missing altogether. This is rather strange though superstitious folk attribute it to the haunted ruins out that a' way. Either way, because of the apparent danger, most have taken to travel and transport by boat, up and down the river rather than by road but a brave soul may still chart the roads.

>>2216979
>>2216986
You want to tell Lucas? Any idea of how to go about doing that? As corrupt as you might have him, that's still a huge secret.
>>
>>2217126
At this juncture, with the number of people in this house with varying levels of corruption, I personally don't think it's that good an idea. Later, sure, but not now.

>>2217135

>>
>>2217157
Depends how you make the pitch. If it's clever and creative, and makes sense that he would be willing to accept, then a higher roll won't be needed as much.
>>
>>2217157
Yeah. I personally don't see the need to get anyone else in the house. We got the bodyguard for safety reasons, Mila to be some ears and a method to corrupt Lucas better + being a scapegost, Lucas, our cover, and our witch. Not sure who else we would even try to invite in, at this point...
>>
>>2217178
Should we dedicate this night to start corrupting Ordan?
>>
>>2217212
Sure, do what you will... just don't roll a 1 again. And be wary of merryl. Invite her into your shennanigans at your own peril.
>>
>>2217241
Um
I had plans for telling Lucas but not for Ordan, want me to get another old fashioned night plan then?
>>
>>2217243
I mean, if you want to tell lucas, easiest way to do it is just to twist his perception of what hell is. Perhaps long ago we were some minor noble, but we did get caught, and executed, and had our soul sent to eternal damnation in hell. Stay long enough there, hell begins to change a person. Tortured by the fires of hell for centuries and becoming something different, permanently twisting ones immortal soul... but she somehow managed to escape to her own freedom, one where she could live out the dreams she had before being forced to hell. As for merryl, she's just a poor soul we took pity on. Easy.
I just would rather not tell him right now, because the walls have ears and there's always the chance of rejection right now. Place a few more runes, wait a few days, let the contained corruption spread, then it should be good. A couple of threesomes/foursomes for the sake of his soul going even darker? I mean, that's a good thing for us. Just don't want it to get so dark that he literally emits an aura of 'this is a really bad dude'
Maybe we can convince him to get a tattoo to hide that...?
>>
>>2217281
Well i can support that, wait a bit more until the revelation

But we still don't have anything to do right now
>>
>>2217356
There are a couple of shoter, long term goals to accomplish. Let's list em off:
>get witches soul back
>get the church to fuck off
>see to those pirate fucks
>what's in the vault?
>GET SOULS
>make a powerbase in the mortal world
>make a way to get back if we die
>see about making truces or allies with those of similar alignment as us
>maybe get some more soulless minions
So, simply put, chose one and make a short bulletpoint list of ways to accomplish that.
Now, which of these is most feasible to accomplish atm...?
>>
>>2217379
Chose one, I'll make a bulletpoint list of a way I think I could accomplish it. Except for the ones that are kind of in play, such as the witches soul.
>>
>>2217379
>See about making truces or allies with those of similar alignments as us
We gotta pay a visit to vamp lady to give her an updoot and see if there anything she needs
>>
>>2217356
>>2217379
Well it's also nearing the end of the thread, so we're going at an easier pace. Though also more possibilities, if you want to try something more risky or out of the box.
>>
>>2217393
As a vampire, she's got to be long lived, so i'd love her thoughts on the little treasure room and the things inside, but alas, our social link is at rank one.
>>2217414
yeah, those are just options I've personally listed. Any of them can have a step that can be accomplished basically right now. Most of which happen to require step one: Send out imps to acquire soul
>>
>>2217420
Or go get a soul yourself.
>>
>>2217449
can we use forcefullu taken souls for our disguise?
>>
>>2217414
For immediate goals, I want to open that box, confess our true nature to Lucas (but insist our feelings for him are unchanged and all that sappy shit he'll eat right up) and defile our property to allow for imp hordes.
>>
>>2217459
And that why i said all that sappy stuff at the farm!
>>
>>2217455
For the fully human one? Yes, however it will make you take on the form of that actual person, rather than a mortal form of your choosing (assumedly your usual "human" self).

I simply say because, like with the highwayman, you've shown to be fully capable of fetching willing soul exchanges if you put your mind and creativity to it.

>>2217459
For the imp hordes, that was more or less the point of the Warren, that upon claiming some domain here in the mortal realm as your own, you can populate with a legion of loyal imps who have little risk of being banished or limited as long as you remain on this plane of being. Now what you actually do with all those imps is up to you, but the potential is there.
>>
>>2217488
Yea, we still gotta claim the house and property as our domain.
>>
>>2217488
I'd wished we'd gone with the library. imps are just... imps. We could have just gotten more manpower by using soulless victims. And imps are hell's denizens, so they're more likely to be discovered.
But, I'll do with what we have.
What'd do with them... well, is there something that I can do that would allow us to teleport? More of a gate teleport rather than an instant anywhere you go teleport. between two specific locations?
well, I've come up with at least three ideas for those magic items... unsure about how over or underpowered they would be...
>>
>>2217522
>more manpower using soulless victims

Almost certainly not, there's not really an upper limit on how many imps you could have at your disposal. Really just, limitation in terms of size of an area, for how many imps can actually fit into it even if that means shoulder to shoulder and several layers deep of standing on ones beneath them.

As for teleporting, yes but that's also possible with normal magic too. It's quite hard to do though, but possible. In your case it would mean having two horrendously corrupted locations, claiming both, and then linking them with part of you, probably blood or hair or something. It goes without saying this would all need to be done in your true demon form.

As for the magic items, you can make a roll and suggest them, if the roll is good then they're entirely ok! Also just a broad statement, but anyone going to the effort to make up a potential magic item gets a reroll if it gets picked.
>>
>>2217502
Yes, the barrier to which seems to be the others in the house not knowing your true nature and so you being unable to go about as a demon.
>>
Rolled 72 (1d100)

>>2217558
>blood colored amulet
a simple suggestion effect around the holder. minor, but should a person be in it's presence daily for a bit every day, that person becomes even more suggestible. Something similar to a vampires hypnotism effect, I suppose? We could already do this, but its without the corruptive effect. Used to swindle on the long con.
>black pen/quill
a writing implement that will stream of conscious write whatever the person pricked by the end of it or was given the blood of was thinking. Will fill up journals quite quickly, so requires a lot of paper. Loses power after a day, unless supplied with an inkwell of the person's blood. Used to discover combination locks and the sort
>Blue ring
A simple ring that, if flicked to produce or placed against another person, will cause them to completely forget everything from two minutes ago to 30 minutes ago. will also cause the person to 'tune out' from reality for a second or two. Used for getaways or to take back something that was said. only can be used a certain amount of times per day? Week?
>>
>>2217627
Yeah all of these are entirely valid. Just to remember that conventional magic/magic items won't work when you're in your true form.
>>
>>2217627
produce a sound, I meant
>>2217675
yeah, no problem. Our demonic form is probably better than any magical item anyway, so if we're in it, simple magic items like this will probably have no use anyway.
>>
>>2217682
Right, it's a trade off basically. So that's the full details of the treasure found settled, except for the box of course.

What then were you settling on for your activities for the eve? It's still an hour or so before anyone would expect dinner, and then a couple hours still till going to bed.
>>
>>2218743
Caught a fever today, so I won't be able to comment much, probably, but could equip the amulet and talk to our bodyguard for a bit... would help quite a bit in getting his soul, if we were near him for long enough every day. Would be able to convince him to pass over his soul with less the corruption than if we'd just corrupted him into passing it over.
Could continue on working on rune-ing up the house and send out... what, five imps? One for the vamp (do not approach if she's near anyone or busy) and four to get an update on our pirates friends. Maybe one more to kidnap someone from out of town. Preferably on the purer side. I've an idea...

So you manage to summon a few imps without issue, loyal enough. Imparting their missions on them as well, goes over just fine. Now you'll just have to wait and see how their respective tasks go as they march off towards the road and lands beyond.

By the time you've taken care of that, Merryl is cooking up dinner and some of the others are setting up the table. Have anything else in mind for the evening or just take it easy?

Let's get learning on cooking with Merryl again! Without teasing this time, actually focus on the food

Maybe some slight teasing, like a kiss or two
>>
>>2219170
Hence why it's better to wait on it and open it without chance to break the enchantments (we could put something it there if we wish to) or accidentally triggering something inside to destroy whatever's in there. If QM says we can do it without doing either, I'd go for it tho.
>>
>>2219199
Well that's the whole point of a risk, I can't just tell you whether it would or wouldn't, you have to make the choice to take a chance or not.

>>2219174
That's easy enough, you can get in on helping Merryl with the cooking. You have thoughts to tease her as usual, but you get strong loving feelings from her directed elsewhere, towards Lucas with anticipation. You can pry, it seems to their talking together, he intends to let Mila know of the situation so that they don't have to hide what's between them and can make it a regular thing. Well, good for Merryl you suppose, more chance for her to be happy.

In any case you all have dinner together, and you get compliments for the cooking since you actually focused on it this time around. Of course you tainted the food with your being, and between that and your use of the amulet, you suspect it won't take much longer for Ordan to be firmly in your grip. Maybe another few days of just conventional interaction, or sooner if you try to torment him somehow. Either way, a nice enough dinner after which the others go about their usual evenings before bed. You're free as always to act.
>>

Yes daddy

>THE Revelation Plan
>Single out Lucas and take him to the bathroom
>Ask Merryl to wait for us outside the bathroom
>Kiss and hug him
>Look into his eyes and cup his cheeks between our hands
>Remember what i told you at the farm?
>How despite my situation, you won my heart and love?
>It's true, so true
>After that nigh with Merryl I can't keep this up any longer
>I need to tell you something, Lucas
>Transform
>I love you, Lucas
>I mean it, despite *this* you've won me over
This is all a lie and I'm saying it to convince him without influencing him
>Would you join me for a bath?
>Signal Merryl to come in and see if she wants to do anything with him
>Make sure to lock the door
>>

Leaving poor Mila out in the cold again? Well, I suppose it's as good an attempt as any. Go ahead and make a roll for the success.
>>
Rolled 62 (1d100)

>>2219441
might have to invoke my rerolls
>>
Rolled 63 (1d100)

>>2219441
We'll go see her after we're done here so we have one secured instead of risking both
>>
Rolled 11 (1d100)

>>2219441
Well, i also had my plan further up
>>
>>2219470
Hmm... should I use my once per thread reroll here...?
>>
Rolled 4 (1d100)

>>2219475
Well, its at the end of the tread, so why not?
>>
>>2219502
.... horray, me. Guess I used up all my luck earlier.
>>
>>2219509
The roll is above average so I'm not worried, plus that talk at the farm and this *should* help us out with the dc
>>
>>2219502
>>2219470
>>2219464
>>2219462
Oh dear, 63 at best? Well... at least he's pretty corrupted...
>>
>>2219462
You have two rerolls m'dude!
>>
>>2219527
Well, I got one once per thread one and I'm pretty sure I have one one use one., so I eant to save that one for a crit fail.
>>
Rolled 31 (1d100)

>>2219527
yea, I guess I'll give it a shot
doubt I'll beat 63 though

>>2219522
>>
>>2219550
Ah, shame
Still not that worried about that 63
>>
>>2219563
I did warn ya about doing it now, but nooo, Had to do it today.... impatience is a killer.
>>
>>2219550
So that's it, no more rerolls?
>>
>>2219614
Yeah, I'm ready to accept fate.
>>
>>2219614
Just in case, before we do this, grab the ring...

So you draw Lucas aside to the master bathroom, and spill the beans, topping it all off by revealing your true form as the flecks of skin and being of Amelie smolder and disintegrate to ash. You sense a great fear in him at actually seeing this, but some strong resolve, a strength in him which comes from his feelings towards you.

"Actually, Merryl told me this morning... I didn't believe her, but to see it with my own eyes..."

It's a lot to take in for sure, more than should be fair to ask of him. But he doesn't just panic or change his mind altogether. He still has devotion to you, you can sense, he just needs to come to grips with who and what "you" are now. At least he knows the truth now. Telling him you love him and trying to sell the idea that you're not so bad even if other demons may be, definitely helps your case. He at least genuinely believes that he's made good of you and won your heart in favor of your infernal nature. In the end, he can only wonder one thing.

"Does this mean we aren't getting married?"

Well at least he has his priorities in order. You can proposition him to a bath if you like, but that might be a bit much for him at the moment, especially if Merryl is involved. Not that he wouldn't, but it's kind of a left field request. Like if you told him the truth all the same and then just randomly asked him to go ice skating together or something. It's not exactly a helpful distraction to the complicated truth.
>>
>>2219664
MERRYL
She's lucky he's already so corrupted...
We need to teach her a lesson
>>
>>2219664
>Kiss him
>We still can, but it's going to be complicated
>But we'll make it work!
>I love you

Should we hold off Mila or go right now?
We also gotta talk to Merryl
>>
>>2219664
Talk with him some time, bond, then get him to stand lookout while you defile the property to allow the summoning of imp armies.

also fucking merryl god damnit
I told you guys
I told you she needed to die
>>
>>2219686
How bout... no.
Stop trying to kill everything.
>>
>>2219686
If she was possessed it ain't as bad, but if she wasn't she probably let herself go because I'm guessing she would get all mushy on Lucas and let something slip by
>>2219695
Spanking and lewd punishment time?
>>
>>2219695
I never tried to kill vamp lady, lucas, mila, ordan, margot, or the vast majority of characters. Stop making things up because you have an unhealthy attraction to fictional characters.

You're right about just wanting to kill her but
>Not wanting to
>Pic related
>>
>>2219716
I care for things that could benefit us in the future. You seem to care only for what things could net us now.
Also,
>attracted to fictional characters
What. I don't think i ever gave that impression. All I care about is future possibilities. Don't go mudslinging just because they don't agree with what you wanted to do.
>>
>>2219732
Um, we are a demon.

>>2219741
I slang mud because you slang first, accusing me of wanting to kill everything, which was false.

You do it again with this line
>I care for things that could benefit us in the future. You seem to care only for what things could net us now.

I've said multiple times that whatever future benefit Merryl brings isn't worth all the work we currently have to do for her, and the risk she still poses. I've never given off the impression that I don't care about the future either, so stop implying that I have.

You do your best to reassure him, and give him a kiss. Your demonic lips meeting his mortal, despoiling flesh to despoiled. Even so minor an exchange, just mouth to mouth and already your truly demonic spit blackens his soul to your liking even more. For the most part it banishes his worries, and you sense a desire to embrace you and be affectionate, however a mix of fear as well as your modifying him in reverse to how he had been before (making him less dominant) keeps him from doing so.

For now you can just stay in here for some time together to talk, and be honest with one another (your version of "honest") which he clearly appreciates and more and more eases up and accepts you. He does have a worry though which won't go away, he wants to know if you ever, and how much you manipulated him? He's heard the stories and been to sermons, of how demons trick and torment victims. His fear that all of this devotion to you was your playing with his mind and feelings. To get this concern out of his mind before he accepts devoting himself to you as he had always intended to.

After that though, if you've some plan to enact in your current form you can. Now would be the time.
>>
>>2219783
Well, his love for us is genuine right? We made him love us without manipulation or influencing him

Should we tell him we only manipulated and influenced him into claiming Mila and Merryl? Because he truly was too much man for us(lie)
>Point at his crotch

We were going to defile this room i believed
>>
>>2219783
Tell him we gave him a huge dick and inhuman stamina.

Sorry bro, it wasn't natural.
>>
>>2219816
Shhhhhh anon!
He doesn't need to know! We gotta keep some stuff under the rug!
>>
>>2219831
He won't believe we changed nothing, it's a good way of deflecting.

Plus we weren't just going to defile the room, but close to the whole property.
>>
>>2219838
Possible but difficult with Mila and Ordan not aware of the truth. Like are you going to wait till they go to bed and then defile the house except their rooms?
>>
>>2219841
Hm, I thought we could do a circle around the house and get everything inside. If we need to cover every square meter or something I guess just the hidden room for now, and we'll expand later.
>>
>>2219841
Start small.
I took some medicine. Going to pass out. Later.
>>
>>2219846
Sorry I was confused. Are you trying to thoroughly corrupt the house, or claim it as your “own” in demon terms? The former will take going around the house, the latter you can just do for the whole house pretty easily.
>>
>>2219856
Psssst
Support my action anon
>>
>>2219872
Just the latter, for those imp hordes
>>
>>2219874
Whatever it was, fine.
You re lucky I got up to get water

Very well then, you convince Lucas and of course Merryl to help you on this matter. So he leaves the room and the two of them act normal while you just wait in here for the others to go to sleep. It must have taken some convincing by their part for Mila to go to bed in her own room rather than the master bedroom here, but an hour or two later Lucas returns to fetch you and let you know the coast is clear.

So sneaking through the house and then outside, while the two of them keep watch as best they can, you mark the exterior of the house as you travel around it making a circle all the while. Eventually you draw it to a close with a second inner ring and sigils all between, the whole process taking probably an hour. But, it's done, it's ready to go. Out of sight of Ordan or Mila's room windows, you perform the ritual and with the use of your own demonic blood mark the house as your own domain. Much the same as you might in the Hellscape, but here on the mortal realm and with none to oppose you.

Afterward, entering into the house you already feel more at home and comfortable in this form as you are. And what more, you can now make full use of the Warren from your fort in the Hellscape without worry, as any imps summoned with both be loyal and obedient by default and without a practical limit on their amount of time or effort spent here. Merryl has some idea of what you did and is glad for it, while Lucas is just happy if anything is more to your liking, and he asks if there's anything he can do to make you more comfortable and at home? In any case it's getting a little late, but all the concerns of your work and Margot's business are at the back of your mind right now. Doubly so since you don't need sleep in this form. So as you wish, you're free to act some more before going to bed if you want to take back on your disguise, or you can just forgo sleep altogether and do what you want through the night. Though of course, Lucas and Merryl will need sleep naturally at some point, without supernatural intervention of course.
>>
>>2220162
Might as well be, last action(s) for the thread as well!
>>
>>2220162
What i have I for work so I would say go to sleep?

Or remind Merryl why we *should* be her number 1 via punishment by spilling the beans earlier
>>
>>2220185
Well, no one wants to open the box, so corrupt the parts of the house that we can without disturbing Mila or Ordan.
>>
>>2220219
Supporting this too
