Marvel Quest Presents: Vibrant and Intuition Drive

A quest set in a version of the Marvel Universe, following the exploits of two emerging powerful individuals.
Vibrant

At the cost of the reputation of his multi-million dollar engineering corporation, Vibrant Technologies, as well as the life of his friend, Vincent Walken has developed a sonic device capable of generating terrific force capable of even sending him into an alternate world where he has discovered nuclear ruin, remnants of advanced technology, and a surviving colony.

How will he use his new power?

Intuition Drive

An escaped android developed to solve investigations with intuition instead of logic. Having fled destruction at the hands of the company that created it, it seeks to find acceptance in the world as a hero and, perhaps, as a person. Having partially thwarted criminals fleeing with a stolen safety deposit box, ID is tracking the ones that got away.

Vibrant

You park your vehicle behind some large boulders on the outside of the quarry. There was a fair chance this was likely to kick up some debris and you’d rather not scratch the paint on your precision automobile.

Shrugging off your overcoat that had been concealing your suit, you slip on your sonic gauntlets and mask before picking your way down into the center of the quarry. Vibrant Technologies had acquired this quarry in a takeover five years back and since then, it had only seen occasional use in testing industrial equipment.

It was a perfectly secluded spot to practice the new fine touch controls you had acquired from the other world.

With your new range of control, you practice normal sonic blasts against boulders, shifting them with your force. Your finely honed blasts takes some aiming, but you’re able to crack smaller boulders from a fair distance. Your wide blasts manage to kick up a cloud of dust 6-9 meters wide, leaving the larger stones untouched.

After a while, you practice running, jumping, rolling, and blasting while doing it. By the afternoon, you’ve had a decent workout as well as become quite familiar with your new skills.

Taking a break, you head back to your car and relax with a chilled bottle of Pellegrino. As the cold water refreshes you, you consider the rest of your day, the Iron Man suit that Tony Stark promised to send you for use in salvaging tech from the other world wasn’t going to be delivered until late this afternoon, but you were pretty excited about it. Even if you weren't permitted to develop the technology for any other purpose, just having access to it was going to be immeasurably useful.

Then there was the colony run by the mysterious “Mister”.

You had promised the head of security, Meyers, and the ass of a governor, that you would return with a crate of supplies for them. You had your employees rushing to gather the requested materials together, but you were still unsure about the real leader of the colony of refuges, the one they called “Mister”.
You still hadn't met him yet but had the definite sense that there was definitely something odd about the situation, especially since Mister, or the governor, tried to electronically track you.
no one at the colony had done anything wrong just yet, but you weren't sure about trusting them at face value.

Still, you wanted to deliver quality supplies on time, no reason not to impress. Especially if you could pokssibly learn how the colony was able to generate such powerful shields to protect itself. You had asked for various, relatively minor technological secrets in exchange for the delivery. It would prove interesting to see how they respond.

Now that you were done resting, you had to decide whether to keep training or not.

>Return to the office and oversee the-

What the hell is that plume of dust?
Was that a car?
Who the hell would be all the way out here?

From your hidden position, you have a clear view of a large black SUV speeding up the as access rod to the quarry.
It's clearly not a company vehicle and you dismiss any thought that it might be here for you when it pulls into a clearing and two dangerous looking men in suits exit the vehicle.
One, a large, muscular man, circles around to the back of the SUV as the other man slowly strolls to the edge of a particularly deep cliff.

The large man pulls a crumpled, but well dressed figure out of the back, drags him to his feet, and gives a solid punch to the midsection for good measure before dragging him to the cliff edge.
The men begin talking and, although you cannot hear every word, it seems apparent that something went wrong, something important was lost, and the two are holding the third responsible.
Carefully moving closer, you can make out more of what they're saying.

"It wasn't my fault! You know that, Joey! You were there! It was all Frankie's fault. He screwed up!"
"Don't worry Dan, Frankie'll get his. But the box was your responsibility, so you gotta take the heat on this one. Look, this way, those bastards might not trouble to come allthe way out this way to do unspeakable things to you."
"What does that mean?"

>Cautiously keep watching the men by the cliff edge.
>Strike down the one threatening Dan with a narrow blast, for justice.
>Step forward and buffet the men with a wide blast as an honorable warning.
Hit the violent one with a normal blast, taking down the threat.

Dan was fortunate today.

Dan, the man the held, began pleading for his life. Tapping keys on your left forearm, you try activating your cell phone, but there simply isn't a signal out here.
You make a mental note to install satellite phone capabilities when you hear a very final sounding "Alright, Marko. Toss him over."
You are certain that you can't wait a second longer and, with hardly a moment to spare, you step forward and blast the large man.

>Those competing margins of success

At his superior's command, the large criminal grips Dan by his fancy suit and starts to lift him up. Dan tries with futility to use martial arts hold breaks to release himself.
You confidently stride forward and blast a tightly aimed blast. Your attack strikes the man mountain sized target as he hoists Dan up.

Both men stagger as the larger is hit by the barrage of your sonic attack. As Marko topples, Dan kicks the inside of his knee and the two of them tumble off the cliff.

Both men scramble on the edge of the cliff, sliding on the loose dust. The other man, with the large forehead, draws a gun in the blink of an eye and trains it on you.
"Damn it! Can't I go anywhere and be free of you bastard do-gooders?"
He raised his gun...

You fire a wider blast in his direction as you run to help the others. He fires and you feel a sharp painful welt in you side through the kevlar as you approach Dan.
With a surge of adrenalin, you yank Dan up off the cliff one handed as you drop the uncoiled whip onto Marko. You fasten the whip around him, hoping to restrain him as much as hoist him.
He hardly fights you as he struggles for purchase.

As you are kneeled down doing that, you hear the sound of Dan getting kicked in the gut and feel the nose of a pistol against your head.
"I'm guessing you ain't got a bulletproof head. Too bad, really. I find it rather useful. Now raise up those noisemakers of yours."

He's right, you can't take a shot like that.
But what he doesn't realize is that he's close enough that you can hit him with your "noisemaker" easily without looking.
The question is:

You switch it up, moving the focus of your attack, you target his legs with your strongest blast.
The force of it knocks his legs our from under him and breaks the stone underneath. He falls forward with his legs bleeding.
Cursing loudly, Hammerhead grips his bleeding legs, anger and resolve flashing in his eyes.
He doesn't look like he can walk, but he isn't giving up either.

Suddenly, you feel a sharp pull at your arm as Marko finally fell off the cliff and your whip tether is dragging you towards the edge of the cliff.
You manage to haul him up with some difficulty and as you finish securing him, hi you hear gunfire behind you.

Dan is lying on the ground where Hammerhead's gun fell, using it to shoot at the escaping villain who is limpdragging himself back to his car.
His aim appears off, but he is getting closer.

You concentrate a tight burst of sonic blast and knock the gun from Dan’s hands. He screams back, “What are you doing, he’s getting away!”
You turn back and see that, showing remarkable, Hammerhead is almost to his car. You send another tight blast at the ground under his feet. It tears up the stone and sends him reeling to the ground again. He yells in pain, tries to grip his abused legs but falls back, his head resting against the wheel.
He lies there panting as you walk up, he’s saying something quietly in a strained voice.

“You… don’t understand what you’re doing…. We have power… You think your tech is good? We… …we have technology that would astound you. In the right hands…” He gulps, taking a breath, and continues even more weakly “If… you just let me drive… out of here… I’ll tell you where it is. …You’ll never find it otherwise.”
“What are you talking about?” Curious, you kneel near him and ask, “What technology?”
In a barely audible voice, he answers “Promise me you’ll let me run for it.” Without waiting for a response, he continues “The tech… we were paid to test it… to steal… the power… too strong to use, it’s hidden…” His voice becomes too weak to make out. He beckons you closer.

>Enough talk, he can tell the police if he wants. Justice has been served. Tie him up and check on Dan.
>Lean in closer, sonic weapon ready, and listen closer. This might be stolen tech you could return or it might even be something you could use.

You’re not buying it. If he has such a great story, he can tell it to the cops.
You start tying him up, with some standard cord as you left the whip securely wrapped around Marko. When you’re securing his hands, he rips his hands free, bellows and launches his forehead at you.
Only to have a sonic blast to the chest send him knocking back into the car, denting it, and knocking the fight out of him, finally. Now that you’re able to tie him up uninterrupted, you make short work of it and return to the other two.
Man Mountain Marko is still ineffectively struggling against the whip, expecting to be able to break it. “What’s this thing made of?” He grunts as you pass him.
You approach Dan, who is sitting in the dust, gripping and shaking his hand. The gun is lying near him but he makes no move for it. “It’s still a little numb. Heh. Sorry about that. I shoulda figured one of you hero types had this sorted. God knows I’ve been on the other end of it enough times.”

“So what was all this about?” you ask, as you casually pick up the gun and approach the criminal.

“Oh, nothing much. Just the ultimate pay day of a lifetime getting ruined by some bearded dingus in a coffee bar. You heard about that string of crimes the other day? Hey, yeah! You stopped one of them, the whip guy, whatta they call you, White Noise? Yeah, that was it!” You sigh inwardly. “Yeah, so you know, there was all these crimes going on at the same time, but that, the whip, rhino, all of it, was all a cover. It was a distraction for one heist. Ours.”
“Shut up, Dan!” called Marko, trying to twist his position so he could glare menacingly and failing on all counts.
“Yeah, or what, Marko? You gonna do something bad like throw me off a cliff?
“So anyway, yeah. We were paid to snag a safety deposit box from a bank. But then, when we holed up in some random café, a do-gooder put a kink in the works and Frankie made me drop the box. “ Then he adds sheepishly, “And, I lost some of the loot. Apparently, there were , like five foreign coins, or whatever, in there and we only brought back three. Whoever it was doing the paying was not gonna be happy.”
“You don’t know who paid you?”
“Above my pay grade, sorry.”
“What about the rest of the box?”
“The pick up should have already gone down… which means I’m a dead man. You gotta let me go. You got your own wheels, or can fly, or whatever, right? Let me take Joey’s car to get out of here. I’ll lay low with my old crew for a while until this blows over. If you take me in, I’m as good as dead. The maggia has plenty of cops on the payroll, I know, I’ve paid some of them in person. No way I survive a day in custody.
Come on, you saw what they’re gonna do to me! Let me go and I promise you won’t regret it. I’ll do whatever you want, you got it. What do you say?”

>No deal. You’re a criminal and have to go to jail. We’ll get you in protective custody since you cooperated.

“Well, there was one street cop I heard about that they tried to bribe and threaten, but wouldn’t cave that they were considering taking out before the whole deal went south anyway. Mahoney, I think his name was. I heard he was a detective now. But I can’t go into police custody!”
“Relax, this is what we’ll do. I’ll take you and these two in to the police, but I’ll leave you directly in the custody of Detective Mahoney. We’ll contact federal authorities and get you witness protection outside of the city police. It’s the best we can do and safer than you running on your own out there.”
“Yeah, maybe you’re right about that. Okay, let’s do this before I lose my nerve.”

You take them in without further incident.
Detective Sergeant Mahoney does not disappoint and by the time you leave, you’re confident that you’ve done what you can for Fancy Dan Brito. As you leave the police station, Mahoney asks if you’d be willing to go on record and leave a full statement, unmasked. At your hesitation, he acknowledges “Yeah, a number of you hero types tend to keep private, I get it. I do. Otherwise we’d need a lot more witness protection. “No.” you reply, sounding more heroic than you feel, “I am Vibrant.”

With that, you leave the officer to his work as you return to yours.
You return by secret entrance to your office and have a set of employees retrieve your car from the quarry. You find two sizable pieces of good news greeting you when you arrive at the office.
First, the crate of supplies and materials should be ready earlier than expected, so you should be able to make the delivery shortly.
Second, you have a delivery from Tony Stark.
You are almost giddy when you see the large, well, box.
The suit arrived in a large hermetically sealed crate opened with your hand print which acts as a signature on the agreement you and your lawyers already looked over and agreed to.
This suit would change everything.
You can’t believe you actually feel grateful to Tony Stark.
You place your hand in position, the box opens with a gentle hiss, and you examine the contents.

You can’t believe you actually felt grateful to Tony Stark.
Fuck Tony Stark. Fuck him and fuck his fancy shipping box. He might as well have left the suit out in front of your building on cement blocks.
Nearly every piece of hardware has been gutted and stripped from the suit. They even took the wiring.
It’s little more than a motorized frame with some thin, battle damaged armor that hardly looks better than your Kevlar.

But you breathe, calm down, and hold your final judgment until you’ve tested the suit. Once you have it on, you are somehow even more disappointed.
The sad actuators on the suit hardly help your strength at all and actually impair your movement. Fortunately, R&D promised some basic steel prototype actuators for you in a week and a full strength set with the proper alloy in under a month.
The frame had mountings for tech, gear, jets, weapons, and such, but they had all been removed. The display in the helmet was functional, but the software remaining was slightly more advanced than a Speak & Spell.
You were sorely tempted to return to Tony Stark with the suit and shove it up his ass.
But the framework was incredibly sturdy and durable. If you could reverse engineer the alloy, you suspect you could construct superior armor with it. And once you had your actuators installed, the suit would actually give you a considerable strength boost.
With a sigh, you resolve to leave it as a “work in progress”.

You prepare for the trip to the alternate world. Reviewing the crate, it is fully loaded with the supplies, including a twelve-pack of beer for Meyers that you threw in.
Placing the crate on a small sled, you climb on the crate and wrap your arms around it, angle your hands towards each other and begin the sonic vibrations that shift you into the other world.

I'm actually quite happy with what Stark sent us. It was exactly what we needed to begin developing, and allows for the development path that won't make us Iron Man, model B. Not removing signature weapons and software would have been giving away too much of his own tech, and propulsion uses the same tech weapons do.

Plating is a bit disappointing, but we'll pull through.
>>
>>2183400
You make the trip successfully, appearing just over the ridge, not far from where you appeared the first time. With a little bit of effort, you’re able to pull the crate along the snow to the hangar where you are greeted just as gruffly as before, only with far less alarm. You are brought into the hangar and they initiate a thorough radiation screening process before clearing technicians in to open and unload the crate.
The governor appears and hardly acknowledges you, instead he fastidiously reviews the supplies you brought, eventually sneering at the twelve pack of beer.
“I added that as a thank you to Meyers for his help and the tour.” You offer, trying to ease the tension.
“I’ll make sure it gets sent to security. Meyers won’t be joining us today.”
“Why not?”
“Not that it’s any concern of yours, but there was a minor security incident in the industrial sector that required his presence. You will be dealing solely with me tonight.”
“How lovely.” You try to keep the disdain from your voice.

What followed was a tedious bookkeeping of your delivery followed by an equally tedious meeting in a dreary empty conference room where the governor, in painfully slow detail, went through all of your requests for technology and explained why they were unreasonable.
You were tempted to ask for that twelve pack back, just to get through the meeting. Actually, you were getting thirsty, but you’re not certain you trust any drink this man got for you, plus you’d have to remove your helmet, and so far they hadn’t seen your face. Not that it really matters in an alternate world, but you would feel less protected.

As you’re talking with the obstinate governor, trying to get him to see reason on, anything, really, a beautiful blonde woman pops in the door. You stand immediately, welcoming the distraction. “Ah, there you are! This is where you’ve been hiding him!” She is wearing a formless flight suit, but that does little to dampen her amazing beauty, her familiar beauty. Where do you recognize her from? “The first real bit of interesting news around here and it happens when I’m away.”
“You are always away.” The governor dryly responds, earning him an irritated look. “Not that we don’t appreciate all that you for us out there. But I’m having a meeting with our “guest” so, if you wouldn’t mind, Captain Danvers, we really-“
“Captain Marvel!” You shout before catching yourself, “Ah, I mean, um, you’re Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel, aren’t you?”
She manages to look shy for a moment before replying, “Yeah, that’s me. I take it you recognize me from my work before the nukes fell. I’m just Danvers now.” She extends your hand and you take it happily. It’s incredibly firm yet impossibly gentle.

"It's an honour to make your acquaintance." You say, earning an upgrade from a shy grin to a pleased and warm smile. "If I might ask, what is your role here?"
The governor pipes up, "Miss Danvers is an important part of external security and she needs to get back her duties, right?"
Ignoring the arrogant ginger mullet, she answers herself "Oh, I'm one of the few that can safely run missions outside the shield, so I handle a lot of the flying runs. It used to be a lot of search and rescue transports of refugees. Now it's mostly preemptive strikes against Coven drones or worse, explorations from the overseas threat."
"What?"
"Oh, well, I don't understand his reasons, but Mister asked us not to talk about it, even when alone. Seems weird, right? But he's always, well, almost always right, so I just say I that chase off the forces of Voldemort. Heh."
"Ah, well then, speaking of rescue missions, care to sit in the meeting with us and rescue me from your governor?"
She laughs out loud at that. Reaching out and touching your arm, she says "I'm sorry, but I really can't. I do have to head back out. But it was great meeting you. Don't let him get to you. Just remember jow much you've already helped us with supplies. I hope I get to see you next time you visit. Bye now." She executes a little wave and spin before disappearing faster than you can see.

The room seems even drabber with her gone, but your mood is still bolstered.
"Shall we get back to it then?" the governor quips, clearly annoyed.
You are about to reply when a beeping sound causes the governor to curse "What now!?" When the voice comes up over the speaker, his entire demeanor changes. He visibly snaps to attention in response to the voice.
"Govenor, I'm going to need you to check on the shields."
"But, Mister, the shields should be fine for several more hours."
"And I'm telling you that they need your attentions now."
"But sir, I'm in a meeting with the stranger right now."
"I will take care of it."
"But sir, this isn't worthy of your attention. I think-"
"I said now Cortez. Bring him to my lab and I will talk to him here."
"Yes sir." said the governor, meekly. After the speaker beeps once more he turns to you and says "I guess you're meeting with Mister after all. Come with me."

As you walk down the small, functional hallways, you have the realization that although everyone else seems to regard Mister with respect bordering on awe, the governor seems to be terrified of him.
The governor seems to to walk around like an ineffectual figurehead for Mister. It's possible, you suppose, that he is afraid of losing that position.
That would make sense to you, as you can't imagine there being any true use for the man, despite Mister pulling him away like that.

You appraise the man as the two of you walk silently and his entire manner is tense, which does nothing to alleviate your own anxiety as uou prepare to meet the true leader of this colony.
That anxiety is only slightly lessened when you were filled with admiration at the lab upon entering.
There is a disarray of machines cluttering the entire room and you understood almost none of them or what their possible purposes could be.
There doesn't seem to be many monitors or display devices on any of the machines and when Mister enters the room you understood why.
The somewhat tall man walked into the room wearing a black jumpsuit and a large helmet with a visor on his face, obscuring most of his face.
There was clearly a camera function embedded in the visor and, from the way he moved his head as he walked, you can tell there was some form of heads-up display inside that visor.

"Greetings! I'm so glad to finally meet you I'm sorry I hadn't gotten a chance to yet. Maintaining the functioning of this colony tends to take up nearly all of my time." Looking at the man, you can tell that there is some sort of deep burn scar covering the right side of his face but you can only see a portion of it below the visor. In fact, you can only really see his lower jaw, but there's still something familiar about the man.
It might be his voice or the sort of gliding way in which he moves but there's something definitely familiar about him.

Turning to the governor he says "That will be all, governor. Please go see to the fields, now.
"So!" he says, turning to you "They tell me that you've managed to deliver all of the materials that they had requested, and in such a short time! You are very impressive individual and I can't wait to get to know you better. Obviously, you found that little tracking program I had installed on your tablet. I'm sorry about that, but I have to be very cautious with the safety of our colony. I have to protect it from both threats from both inside and out- Hold on just one moment, if you don't mind." And with that, he turned and his stretched his left arm across the room to flip several switches on a strange machine. Suddenly the vague familiarity of his voice struck home. "Reed Richards!
"You're Dr Reed Richards!" you exclaim, somehow possibly gushing even more than you did over Ms. Marvel.

"Please," he responded, "we have reached an age of man beyond the need for titles such as "doctor" or "professor" or the like. And I must admit, after failing to prevent the thermal nuclear devastation of the entire planet, I no longer feel anything but shame at being called 'Fantastic'. So please, if you don't mind? Why don't you just call me Mister?"

That update was supposed to be the reveal dropped this morning as a closer to the session, but then I fell asleep while phone posting it.

This is correct.

This is wise. I like to play around with wjst I can.
For example, even in his own universe, Security Head Meyers is a former villain.

It's been done before elsewhere, with mixed results.

Honestly, this has gotten so far from my original idea, you wouldn't believe it.
It's great.

Intuition Drive

You walk down the street at a brisk pace, not stopping to think about where you're going. Sometimes this has helped you in the past, operating on pure instinct. However, it's been well over an hour since the robbery and you have no reason to suspect that the criminals that got away are anywhere still in the area. But still, you feel the need to keep looking.
You finally have an opportunity here to investigate as you were designed to and to prove to the world , and yourself, that you are a valuable part of society, a valuable person, and maybe even a hero.

But at the moment, you find yourself standing in a very empty street corner in the middle of a very empty warehouse district.
You're not sure you even remember how you got here. You don't remember crossing the bridge but you must have because you're on Lairdman Island.
Looking around, you don't see anything suspicious and your instinct and intuition aren't telling you any particular direction to go or a particular building to investigate.
Unsure of what to do exactly, you step into the shadows of an alleyway and lean against the brick wall of the warehouse.
Finally in a moment of rest, you notice that your nanites are experiencing a strange glitch. Well, not really a glitch, really, just an unusual reading and their self diagnostics.

Normally you would rest, remain still, and sort of inwardly focus so that you can actively understand what they are trying to process. But you're very determined on finding these men right now and don't want to give up.

>Keep pursuing the criminals, for justice.
>Look around in rhe buildings at random, even if you don't find the criminals, there might someone, somewhere in need of help.
>Cautiously, take the time to understand what's going on with your nanites.

You decide that there's no time to waste, you can't let those criminals escape justice. You let the diagnostics run in the background.
You step out of the alley to cross the street and keep searching and are nearly hit by a speeding grey van that sped out of nowhere and kept going.

That driver was totally unfamiliar, but you felt the strongest urge to follow. Running after the van, you are grateful when they shortly turn into an old warehouse with open doors.
Your top speed is barely above average human level.
Suspiciously, as soon as the van cleared the doors, men wearing black closed the doors after it.

Creeping to a window in the alley, you are able to four men in odd black attire inside unloading expensive looking electrical equipment out of the van and into a black SUV.
There is a man wearing a hat and coat not dissimilar to yours taking to a fifth man in black.
You are trying to make out what they are saying when suddenly the fifth man in black turns to stare at you, looking dead at you with a cold stare.

Quickly checking on the other four, you can't see any of them! Several sets of arms smash through the window you were looking through and pull you inside.
Thrown to the floor, you quickly stand and ready yourself for battle. You're unharmed, but your fake beard is comically askew.
"Who are you?" the man in black demands as the other man turns around, revealing himself to be wearing a mask of some kind.

>Remove your beard and proudly say "I am Intuition Drive. You are under arrest for suspicion of grand larceny! Surrender now."
>Bravely just leap into action and fire your stunning energy gun at the two in front of you.

The first energy blast struck the lead man in black and he crumpled to the floor, unconscious.
The second blast just barely missed the man in the coat and hat and simply stood there, looked back at his fallen conspirator, and goaded you "Come on! Is that your best shot? Try it again!"
You raise your weapon, but your intuition screamed that it's a terrible idea.

Seeing that you aren't taking the bait, he laughs and shrugs off his hat and coat revealing a very ostentatious disguise.
"Now you face Electro the master of electricity!"

Before you can respond you are set upon by the remaining men in black.

(Dem rolls. You know, you're supposed to be a bad fighter)

Forming a hard nanite shell around your arms you block the first two attacks of the incoming men in black and they recoil their hands in pain.
You strike them down quickly and inarticulately but the simple punches do the job and they drop.
The final two also leap on you at the same time. You're able to strike one down with a solid punch to the jaw which crumples him soundly. The final one grapples you, straining against your servos and restricting your movement.
You strike him but you're unable to fully dislodge him.

Then you hear a cackle and the crackle of electricity as Electro generates a large bolt and hurls it at both of you. The electricity siezes both your bodies and you both shake violently at the impact.
You brace yourself for the pain you know it's coming, but then it doesn't.

For reasons you cannot explain, the electricity doesn't seem to be harming you at all. Well, that's not entirely true, your fake beard fries and melts off your face.

The man that was grappling you falls to the ground with thin wisps of smoke drifting off his body. "You got lucky and he blocked some of that blast!" says Electro "Now you'll take the full force of my power!"

>Bravely stand and take the full blast.
>Cautiously run for cover behind the van.
>Compassionately shield yourself and the fallen man.

You run as fast as you can towards the other side of the van. You are about a meter away when a tremendous blast of electricity strikes... just behind you as you duck behind the van.
"Damn it! You're a fast one!" He called out, "Ah, you're one of those superhero types aren't you? Yeah you are, I can tell."

Crouching behind the van, you can spy him slowly working around the vehicle as he talks. You maneuver to match as you plan your next move.
"Tell you what, hero. These here chumps paid me just to pull a heist this afternoon and then were paying me again for the loot. I don't think they'd appreciate me frying their new gear, not to mention their men, trying to get you.
"On the other hand, I doubt they'd appreciate leaving these guys to get nabbed by your amateur ass.
"What do you say" he offers, "I let you take off, and we do the same, and everybody goes on to fight another day?"

"You expect me to believe you won't blast me as l leave?" You call over the truck.

"Or, I could just fry everything in the building. Don't underestimate my power!"

Searching for something you can use to your advantage, you see an old light fixture nearly above him.
You figure if you move partially out of cover, he'll move under it to get a clean shot.
You're also pretty sure the lead man has a projectile weapon, which wouldn't be as ineffective against Electro.
Of course, he could be telling the truth about letting you go, too.

Stepping just far enough to encourage him to move into position, you call back "I am carrying out my civic duty."

Seeing his opportunity, he leaps to the side and triumphantly roars with laughter as he charged to electrocute you.
Not missing a moment, you expertly target the light and knock it free of the ceiling.
Your plan succeeds and the light knocks the villain down, unfortunately the built up charge of his blast is released and he manages to fire it into you.
It knocks you down with its force and shakes you violently as the current flows through you.

From his position, pinned beneath the heavy light fixture, Electro cackles weakly as he watches the smoke rise from your coat. Knocked on all fours, you are utterly stunned.
You are stunned by the fact that you are, impossibly, completely unharmed despite taking a terrific amount of electricity when lesser blasts have nearly incapacitated you before.

You stand up and stare down Electro bravely. "You have the right to remain silent..."

"Fat chance..." he weakly replys, angling his pinned hand at you and firing a weaker blast of electricity into you.
You feel the force of the blast, but the energy does no damage.
[New Power Unlocked: Immunity to Electricity Damage! Source: Unknown]

"...oh." devastated that his power was useless, weakened by expending his power, and badly injured from the falling fixture, he passed out unconscious.

Now you're left with the puzzle of how to secure these men, especially Electro with his powers, so that they are not a threat police arrived. Looking around at the very few available materials you come up with a plan.

Using the seatbelts from both the van and the SUV you are able to strap together and tie down the five men in black, none of whom have any form of identification on them.
There is no wi-fi signal this tome, outside of a password protected signal from a more well maintained warehouse several blocks away.
Although, the leader did have a cell phone that wasn't damaged by your shot.

Working against the clock and as quickly as possible because you're not sure how long Electro will remain unconscious, you remove the tires from the vehicles and secure Electro as best as possible inside the tires using the packing materials from inside the boxes of stolten electronic equipment.
It's not pretty, but you get it done before calling the police to collect the men, identifying yourself only as ID.
You tried to interrogate the men, but they were still solidly unconscious when the cops showed up.

You linger in an alleyway, to make sure that Electro was captured safely. After seeing him safely escorted onto a special vehicle, you are ready to leave when the other five men are taken outside.
The four walk with a resigned shame.
The fifth walks proudly, taking everything in. Again, his eyes somehow find you and he stares. They widen in sick as he is pushed into a car. Two words escape his lips and you can make out the quiet shout across the distance, "The Drive!"

You are gone before the cars are.

You have had a very strange day and need to think about a great deal.
You find a quiet spot and inwardly focus.
Your nanites have been trying to understand a strange subatomic phenomenon. Of course, you can't see it, and only barely understand it, but it seems that all the electrons that make up your molecular form, including the nanites themselves, are protected by a force field. Each individual electron is protected by a force field.

Everything you know about science says that is stupidly impossible.
The technology to do that doesn't exist.
The science to do that would be so advanced it would be insane.
The science to do that would be so advanced it would be virtually indistinguishable from... magic.
