+Intro+
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only war. Imperium of Man, once strong and proud, now is slowly crumbling, whole regions of space are lost to the horrors that lurk in the darkness of the void. Sector Deus is just one of the thousands of Imperial provinces that form the front line in the war to defend Humanity itself. Corruption from within and aggression from without threaten it. But the Emperor sends us hope. High Lords of Terra commissioned a Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, finest warriors Humanity has ever seen, to defend this region of space. They are the last line of defence that hold Age of Ruin at bay. They are the Ghosts of Retribution and this is their tale.

+Recap+
Chapter is in progress of launching a coup d'etat against Larion Ursus, Sector Governor of Sector Deus. So far they had a lot of success in early stages, but now they are about to assault the planetary palace on Tachion Primaris...

+++

Do you want to state any additional actions/adjustments to your plans at this point?

Plan was posted here:
>>2114236 (Luigi's long post)
>>
>>2168254
I believe we wanted our Revenant infiltrators to focus on eliminating the defences and we should dispatch a squad to assist Geron as soon as we enter the palace.

Tell the Freyans in the starport to stay calm and they can hold their positions but please don't open fire and we'll hold positions around them.

>5) Eliminate majority of the Palace psykers and witches [26% of Xenya dying in the process], making enemy unable to use them as an organised force
>6) Capture/Kill (80/20) Larion Ursus before the attack [costs x3 goals]

Can we do these, and use "the sector governor is under attack! We're here to help!" as an excuse to land without their defences firing upon us?
>>
>>2168243
I believe as no further indication of confrontation was provided, that you chose to leave, (a), however you can still change your decision before I post the results of storming the palace.

Implemented.
>Drugs
Implementation failed.
>Trickery
Consult with he whether you are definitely fleeing. If you want to interact with Deidara, your escape will no longer be covered by the Fate Point that was spent. In this case you should roll your Intelligence to trick her (Deceive) and then your Willpower to aid your escape(2d100)

>Squad to support Geron
Noted.

You have reports that Freyans at the starport seem to be unloading their armour and preparing a convoy to move out. It will take them a couple of hours to get ready. They don't reply to your communications. It is impossible to establish what is happening inside Fort Hardrock - it is shielded.

>I am afraid I don't have that much time. The only way he survives is if you put him into stasis and deliver the sarcophagus into a location I will provide you with. This is the only way I can justify not completing my mission as instructed. I am afraid he will not be able to command the fleet in that state. Your final answer?
>>
>>2168442
Possible, but really depends on how defenders react and whether anyone gets suspicious of your well timed arrival - I'd say 50/50 or similar chances, big risk, but big pay off as well.
>>
>>2168446
>You have reports that Freyans at the starport seem to be unloading their armour and preparing a convoy to move out. It will take them a couple of hours to get ready. They don't reply to your communications. It is impossible to establish what is happening inside Fort Hardrock - it is shielded.
Keep the streets ahead of their convoy clear and keep a close eye on where they might be heading.

"I'll see what I can do to convince him. But after four years of waiting it's this exact moment you run out of time? Isn't that suspiciously and awfully inconvenient for us? And the sector? Were you just recently told it had to be done RIGHT NOW?"
Does Hagen have a trusted number 2 he can put in charge?
>>
>>2168451
I'll vote for 5 & 6 then.

As soon as we land we should get the revenants with Larion back into a secure area and immediately try to surround the west wing/tower area where Deidara is. Try and isolate it from the other troops and neutralise the rest of the palace.
>>
>>2168482
As a note. They should try to capture Anastasia Belladon rather than kill her if possible. But only if it won't derail the plan.
>>
>>2168451
since we happen to be here together with Mr Inquisitor, we might know some things.
Will it increase our chances to hint to that?

Arbitres control the streets, no need to roll.

Sisters of battle are positioned around major Ecclesiarchy strongholds. Please roll d100 for Ecclesiarchy.
Base involvement chance: 60%
-20% [bloodless coup]
-30% [presence of the Sisters of Battle]
+15% [prior confrontations with Ghosts of Retribution]

Nobility is unchecked and is buzzing like a hive of stirred bees. Some more warlike dynasties are calling up their private armies, all of the mercenary companies on Tachion Primaris are hired within a few hours. However nobles are disorganised and are undergoing a leadership struggle to see who will speak for them.
Base involvement chance: 40%
-10% [bloodless coup]
-50% [leadership struggle]
Please roll d100 for who wins leadership struggle. Less is better for you.

Imperial Guard, System Defence Fleet and PDF are for the most part disorganised and remain out of the game for now.

Hagen has numerous admirals that would be able to take on the position officially, but no one who would be as well liked or known in the Navy as he is. Also do you want to ask him directly whether he can replace himself..? Is that really a good idea?

You are contacted by Amelia Engel:
>Chapter Master! Those Freyans are headed for the Fort Hardrock. I know their thick-headed ilk. They will most likely convince troops there to join them and restore the governor. We must strike their convoy while they are separated. My sisters are close by. Do you concur?

Moderates under Lord Lucas Xerant seem to be taking power, but it will take time for them to consolidate their power. They are unhappy about the coup, but not in a hurry confront you.

As I didn't get a clear consensus in the last thread, we'll use antique method of 'highest roll decides' to determine what actions revenants took in the palace.

Please pick 4 out of 6 and roll a d100 alongside your selection:

Mission is a success, but a bloody one. Ghosts have managed to complete 4 out of 6 potential goals inside the palace:
1) Eliminate majority of the AA defences, reduce dropship casualties
2) Sabotage Honour Guard armoury - they will not have access to any weaponry heavier than their bolters
3) Eliminate passive Palace defences (turrets + combat servitors)
4) Lock Palace Guards (primarily PDF + some stormtrooper elites) inside their barracks
5) Eliminate majority of the Palace psykers and witches [26% of Xenya dying in the process], making enemy unable to use them as an organised force
6) Capture/Kill (80/20) Larion Ursus before the attack [costs x3 goals]

How long until they get to Fort Hardrock? It's in the middle of an ocean no? Head to the docks and disable any ocean ferries the Freyans could use.

Renard breaks onto the bridge, his helmet is on and he's in full combat gear. He seems worried, a rare thing for him:
>Milord. A bit earlier I had a bad feeling and sent Eranor check sensitive areas of Aspera Dominus, just a routine check. I have bad news. We've been infiltrated - Eranor just reported that there's a breach on one of the maintenance hatches, a recent one. We have guests on Aspera.

Sisters of battle do more than just disable ferries. Amelia Engel is not just a pretty face, but also a seasoned veteran who knows how to use every situation to her advantage. She decided that Freyans are too much of a wild card to be left unchecked - if they would find disabled ferries, they might decide to march on the palace. So Sisters prepared a trap. When Freyans arrived, they started to load their war machines onto the ferries, but just as they were midway through the loading process, well placed charges exploded, sinking ferries with most of the tanks! Ships sank slowly enough that most of the men managed to save themselves, only to find that they are surrounded with nowhere to retreat and with no armoured support. They decided to... [roll d100]
[1 - 80] Surrender, Freyans disband
[81 - 90] Stay put, both them and sisters remain in stalemate
[91+] FOR THE EMPEROR!

Fugg.

Organise search parties with auspexes but disguise them as casual patrols. We don't want to spook our guests.

Send a unit of troops to the Spear of Destiny with a stasis sarcophagus. No rush though, just make it obvious we're doing it.

"Ceiron. Are you in position to assist us on the ground when needed?"

We have strong reason to suspect that Deidara Ursus is a rogue witch of considerable power. We need her gone. Preferably incapacitated but dead if necessary. One caveat, we need the arms preserved (for the dark mark).

>Please roll d100 for search parties. Usual patrols are made up of Chapter serfs, Space Marines don't do that, is that ok?
Yes. Don't want to spook the infiltrators. If the serfs detect anything just return looking casual, don't react.
