You decide to go to the local temple to question the deserters who escaped the invasion at Clarcton.
A priestess takes you to a sort of guest-room/infirmary area. Several men in iron armour look at you.

This is a good place to start, let's get a firsthand account of what happened and how they feel. Maybe they can be rallied under a proper bald leader.

>"focus man, you're a soldier. I need information. Enemy numbers, how well equipped were they, who leads these orcs ? Have they come simply for plunder, did they make any demands or attack without provocation? "

"There were hundreds of them! I think they brought there entire clan. But the worst part was their 'equipment'. Normally the orcs have inferior equipment since they're not skilled with metal working but this time they brought war machines! Dozens of functional siege weapons! They've made siege ladders before but nothing like this. I have no idea where they could have possibly got them from. They also had a lot of potions, that's nothing new but they stocked up a lot of them, they were obviously preparing this invasion for a long time.
As for the leader, I don't know for sure. Normally the orc leader is the biggest baddest orc and he leads the charge. I didn't see one of those but I did see an orc with body guards issuing orders from the back.
They didn't make any demands, they just attacked without warning from all directions."

>"Were there any survivors?"

"Maybe, if they ran away before it was too late like us. The civilians wouldn't have had a chance. They came from all directions so there was no real escape route."

>"What did they do to the town? Burn it down?"

"They live in a bunch of caves in the middle of the Paladin Temple, Leefside, and Clarcton. Here I marked it on your map"

"Well, we don't really have a king, or an army. But the next closest thing; the Arch Duke will probably respond to this threat with his own militia when he hears about it. Mayor Manfred has probably already sent a message. The emperor probably wont even hear about it. It's just a 'mere orc uprising' after all"

Water arrows explode into water when they hit a target. Makes the target wet. Douses flames. Does high damage to enemies that are vulnerable to water.

The next morning you lead your party from Leefside to the south to hunt down your next target: the mud golem.
It was easy enough to find, with its heavy muddy footprints. Now you've finally spotted it nearby a large oak tree.

I want to see if we can temporarily recruit Melusina to take down the orc. The golem hit pretty fucking hard, and we might need someone else to help slow down an orc.

Ouch, yeah.
Of course, everyone else is fine, so they could go to Appleby and collect the talons, buy some fire or poison arrows for Alina (I vote posion), more healing potions, and then we get that orc.

Alina might prefer chaperoning or just Christof using a potion instead though.

Potion is faster, I think.

It's a pretty short trip to get there. You wade in and feel your large bruise fade away.

You can't add Melusina to your party while it's full even temporarily. Unlike the goblins who probably would of been cleaved to death by the mud golem is they survived this long

If you send a party member(s) to Appleby and agree to meet them there. You would have room in your party for Mel.

Idk about going in with hostile intent right away. He's killed pretty much all challengers so fighting was gonna be my last resort. I was thinking more along the lines of talking to him, figuring out what he wants, and going from there.
>>
>>2121289
Smoking him out is a pretty decent idea, but if we were to try that, we definitely need to scout out other entrances for him or the smoke to exit from.
A cave you can't start a fire in for warmth or to cook with makes for a lousy lair, but it could still work as a smoke screen at the least, if he can't slip out the back.

>>2121547
>talking to him, figuring out what he wants, and going from there.
Well, he probably wants to keep raiding local farms and such.
The people that live around here want him to not do that and possibly die.

Not really sure we're in a position to offer him anything he'll want more than raiding from his sweet lair.
This will likely end in violence and death.
I'd prefer he die than anyone else.
