Well, I'm still alive, but I don't know how much more my laptop can take. I accidentally knocked one of my lamps over onto it, and it connected juuuust right to smash a bunch of keys. It took me a while to get the enter, shift, and question mark keys working again, and the shift key is pretty dicey now. Apologies for the delay, I was working as fast as I could. Then I couldn't figure out how to make the kind of garbage can I was picturing in my head, and that took a bunch of time before I gave up and made the bin.

I guess this might be the impetus to get that new laptop I've been thinking about for the last couple of years.

Francis, however, was an idea I had for a one-off joke enemy that turned into a new friend thanks to the amazing power of letting the good times roll. His portrait was a lot of fun to make. Just a photo of him run through a couple of quick Photoshop effects and printed out on glossy paper at a size that fit a 4x6 frame. The frame is built by SNOT bricks at the top and bottom with the tiles spanning the gaps between the SNOTs; the painting is pinned directly to the wall behind it.

The baseplate-stacking technique used to make the pool area was shown on /toy/ but I can repost it here. The math works out, so as long as you have bricks underneath the top plate to support it and keep it from bending, you can make as many depressions and rises as you want using full baseplates instead of the smaller standard plates.

I have one regret from this episode: in this post I originally had Daisy say "You know Zack, if you break a girl's heart too many times, you won't like what's left", but I changed it at the last second to more vapid comment. This Duplo present block is literally a present - I ordered some parts from a Bricklink seller a couple weeks ago, and they accidentally sent me a different part in place of one of the parts I had ordered. They mailed the correct part out the next day, plus a bunch of extra pieces, one of which was this surprise giant Duplo present, which was an amazingly providential coincidence since I was planning on running a birthday party episode that week!

The lesser relatives on the wall behind Daisy are portrayed using the same build technique as General Pushup.
