The time has come once again. The weak will rise, overcome the obstacles in their way, and chase their dreams whatever they might be. In a land where adventurers roam, and kingdoms try to claw the earth for anything they recover from ages left behind.

The first decision you must make, is what kind of monster you shall be.

The God of Salt, creater of purification and once heroic Bevra, stood upon this once great forest against the outsiders. With his power, he formed a holy barrier around his followers, and throughout the war they created holy weapons and spells to side the war.

However, the barrier was broken when one of his followers were driven mad by the outsiders presence after so long. Without the barrier, the god was slain and the land tainted with his blood. However, the last rite and ritual of the God of Salt shattered the Outsiders that had swarmed his dying corpse, and thus he took his killers with him.

You find yourself resting on a broken and buried wall, the sound of insects and animals and the stink of decay. It has been your home since before you can remember, which isn’t very long.

You, like all slimes, remember only partially what it was like to be whole, and you desire to form once more.

But until then, you have other concerns. The nearby villages have been slowly growing brave, hiring adventurers to venture into the cursed swamps to grab the treasures and slay the monsters that call it home.

You grow hungry, and everything seems safe now.

There is a temple in the center of the swamp, what remains of the God of Salts followers. Lately, the swamp has begun to recede from it, and the smell of purification is growing stronger there.

On your hunt, you come across a small boat carrying a woman and a armed man. They are slowly making their way across the water, with the woman carrying a lantern to light their way as the man occasionally stabs his spear into the water.

“Harold, you have to wait for the fish to come back. Stabbing repeatedly just keeps them scared off.” The woman said, looking briefly at the man with annoyance

“Hilda, I know how to do this. My father taught me, and his father before him.”

“And they never caught anything either.” She said, looking off into the swamp.

The man stabbed his spear into the water once more, seeming unperturbed “I caught you though.” He said, pulling a fish from the water and tossing it into a nearly empty basket.

The woman chuckled “Only cause I let you.”

You rest on a rock ahead of them, the water slowly flowing. The water is no threat to you, as you have no need to breath. But swimming is impossible for you, but moving along the ground beneath the water is as easy as it would be on land.

With rapid movement, you tear your way back out of the corpse and quickly look for the woman, who you quickly spot rowing the boat away in a panic. After spending so long in the primordial’s little terrarium of a reality, the Outside is hard for you to grasp despite it being so familiar. Black fog forms walls and walk ways as you breath in the stone air encased you as you slither on your way.

You hear other creatures, large ones, familiar ones...hungry ones.

With god like might, you effectively toss the boat into the one behind it, smashing the two together and forming a wall of wood and dying men. The boat behind them all immediatly turns around and begins to flee in terror, leaving the two remaining boats in the killzone to deal with.

The hero was using his mace to smash through slimes, going through their bodies and hitting their cores, shattering them instantly. The woman was splashing oil into the water and lighting it aflame, creating a wall that kept slimes away for fear of their bodies being burned to cinders and leaving their cores vulnerable.

The second boat is doing the same, spreading oil while one of the riders tries their best to fend the slimes off. However their spear is much less effective against the slimes, and the cores could not be destroyed unless smashed.

Shard of Memory: Your Shard is translucent, being made of an outsiders own memory. Gives you the ability to briefly phase out of reality, entering the realm of the outsiders. While in this realm, you can move about it, allowing you to appear else where in reality. You can bypass defenses, and appear in new areas. However, the realm of the outsiders is a dangerous place where the outsiders will seek to devour a weak shard like yourself. Distance in the the realm of outsiders is odd, and thus it is hard to accurately predict where you’ll return when exiting.

The fight briefly stops as everyone present looks upon your new form. Slimes back away, your underling stares in awe, and the leader begins to turn pale, his arm fumbling to a bag on his waist.

The two men on the second boat take their chance, and throw oil onto the underling, preparing to light him aflame.

Empty water where they were, you turn as you hear an ignition of flames, watching as your underlings body burned away and he dove back into the water to try and futilely escape the agony.
