What's up.
>>
September 6th, 1988.

You wave goodbye to the rest of your friends as you climb down the stairs with Polnareff.

Since you haven't really spoken to Polnareff all that much, you consider breaking the ice with him while you two go to where the Speedwagon Foundation employees are.

Despite looking for an enemy stand user, he seems to be relaxed enough to be humming a familiar song you've heard on the radio a few times, now that you think about it, the song kinda fits with your group, considering you're traveling to Egypt and whatnot.

Oh well, i guess he needs to do something to ease the tension during this situation.

What would you like to say to Polnareff.

>So, what do you think of the group so far?

>What do you plan on doing after finding your sister's killer?

>About that monkey you guys found at the pilothouse...

>Do you think the stand user might be nearby?

>I love that song!

>Stay quiet and move on.
>>
>>2093826
>I love that song!
>About that monkey you guys found at the pilothouse...
>>
>>2093826
Is he really humming "Walk Like an Egyptian"?

I love it.

>I love that song!
>About that monkey you guys found at the pilothouse...
Any sign of what it was even doing here? Were there a bunch of empty cages, like they were transporting a lot of other animals? Surely you don't just send ONE monkey somewhere on a big ship like this, too much effort.
>>
>>2093826
Change karma chameleon to wood, and start hamon breathing. We can store up some charges in Karma while looking for the stand user, and once she's full of charges we can store some in ourselves. Full on tactical.

"'Walk Like an Egyptian?'" You excitedly recognize the song Polnareff is humming.

"You know it?" Polnareff smiles.

"I love that song!" You say, quietly humming along with him.

"Ah, good to know teenagers still have good taste in music these days." He says after finishing the song.

"Come on! you're not even that old. No need to sound like Mr. Joestar!" You tease him about sounding so old fashioned.

"I am turning 22 this year, you know. I can't say i'm getting any younger from here either." Polnareff chuckles.

Not wanting to lose focus, you pull Karma Chameleon out and charge her up with Hamon energy, just in case the stand user shows up.

"So...About that monkey you guys found at the pilothouse. Any sign of what it was even doing here?"

"Not really." Polnareff starts to explain. "The orangutan was just there. No signs of any other animals being kept here either. I can show you where he was after checking out the crew if you want."

>Sure.

>Shouldnt we stay there with them?

>I hope they're all ok...

>Write-in
>>
>>2093865
>Shouldnt we stay there with them?
If Tower's user and Tenille are anything to go by, Dio's agents tend to remorselessly kill off innocent bystanders, either as a tactic against us or for the sheer fun of it. These guys are definitely going to be targeted if we don't defend them.
>>
>>2093865
>>Sure.

Hitomi likely hasn't seen many monkeys up close. Seems like a neat mystery to her.
>>
>>2093865
>Sure

As much as we are concerned about the crew of the ship, we should still be well within earshot of them. Plus, even though it's an ape, it's still an animal and is probably freaking out at being left alone.
>>
>>2093865
>Sure.

>>2093885
>getting this into character to prevent metagaming
I'm proud, anon
>>
"You bet!" You confirm your interest on seeing the primate. "I've never seen an orangutan before."

"Alright, just don't get to close to them, you never know what these animals are up to." Polnareff warns you of the monkey's unpredictable nature.

You grab Charlotte from your pocket and let her be absorbed by Karma Chameleon, turning your stand into wood before getting close to the door where the crew members should be.

Polnareff comes up to the door and slowly opens it, taking a peek inside.

"Is there something you need, Mr Polnareff?" You hear a deep voice on the other side of the room.

Fortunately, all of them appear to be unharmed, talking to eachother and playing some poker.

>Have any of you noticed anything suspicious?

>Well, i'm glad that's taken care of. (Go look for the monkey.)

>Maybe we should stay with them, just in case things go south.

>What do you think, Polnareff?

"Have any of you noticed anything suspicious?" You say to the Foundation's employees.

After they all quickly looked at eachother, the man that almost got hit by the crane speaks up.

"Can't say we have, things have been pretty quiet ever since we got ordered to stay in our rooms."

Still, we don't know who the stand user is. As far as you know, he could already be inside this place.

"What do you think, Polnareff?" You ask the tall frenchman. "Shouldnt we stay with them, just in case things go south?"

"They seem fine to me... Didn't you say you wanted to check out the monkey though? Who knows what that thing might do if it gets lonely..."

>Alright, let's take a quick look at the monkey then.

>Fine, but you're staying with them.

>I changed my mind, but you can go and check him out if you want.

>I insist we both stick with the crew members.
>>
>>2093929
>Fine, but you're staying with them.

It's an orangutan in a cage. What's the worst that could happen as long as we stay out of reach?
>>
>>2093929
>Fine, but you're staying with them.
>>
>>2093929
>>Fine, but you're staying with them.
>>
I've never watched Jojo, could the monkey be a stand user?
>>
>>2093946
there are trees, rats and babies that are stand users. Basically anything living can have a stnad, and I'm not even entirely sure on the living part.whether that particular animal is a stand user...?
>>
>>2093951
it depends if you count supernatural, non-stand phenomena as Stands, like the Alley Hands
>>
>>2093946
This stand...could it be a stand user?
>>
"Fine, but you're staying with them." You ensure yourself of the crew's safety before looking for the orangutan.

"Suit yourself." Polnareff shrugs. "He's on the last floor upstairs. Take care!" He waves you goodbye, sitting down next to the poker players.

...

It takes some time for you to find the pilothouse, but after a while, you enter what appears to be a completely auto piloted interior, you're pretty sure those machines aren't supposed to be working by themselves. Maybe its a prototype from the Foundation...

Anyways, that's not what you're looking for here.

You look for the orangutan's cage, but you only find what appears to be a locked one. There is no sign of the primate anywhere in this place.

No way...Where is he!?

Polnareff didnt say anything about other cages in this place either.

This can't be good...

>Keep looking for the orangutan.

>Run downstairs and tell Polnareff.

>Look for clues inside the primate's cage.
>>

>Run downstairs and tell Polnareff.
something about this all is suspicious. best to regroup.

You hear an animal screeching from a few floors below. Realizing that what you feared turned out to be true, you can only think of one thing.

Run back and warn Polnareff.

With or without stand users inside this ship, an angry, urnestrained orangutan going around will likely result in nothing but disaster, and you doubt you have what it takes to put him back in his cage...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N96g6ehwscY

You run at top speed, jumping down every possible flight of stairs and filling your body with Hamon energy to prevent you from tiring yourself out. Additionally, bouncing off the walls with your stands for extra momentum made it possible for you two get to the crew member's rooms before any normal human could possibly have.

You didnt think you would make it in time, but you did. And sure enough, there he was.

Standing outside of the door, a big orangutan turns around and notices your presence.

Wait a minute, is he smoking? A-and why does he have a Playboy magazine on his hand?

Focus,Hitomi. Sailors lives are at stake here. Save the questions for later.

After taking a look at the magazine, he creepily checkes you out for a few seconds. Seemingly pleased with what he sees, he slowly walks up to where you are with the dirty magazine on him.
>Slowly walk away.

>Run back up.

>Scream for Polnareff.

Sonic Reverb Overdrive sounds pretty legitimate. If you could look at sound itself, it's pretty much a ripple away from the source of the sound. If you could let hamon ride on the ripple of a loud noise, you could potentially charge up an object with it remotely...or perhaps even perform a fairly sneaky attack, having hamon travel directly to an enemy through soundwaves.
Though, it'd probably be fairly weak compared to other overdrives. More useful for a clutch or surprise attack.

"POLNAREEEEEEEFF!" you shout at the top of your lungs, hoping that he heard that over the metal door.

The orangutan roars back at you in an agressive position, ready to grab your by force since you dont appear to comply with him.

You start running back up the stairs hoping Polnareff would soon come out to help you, but before you could reach over to the first flight of stairs, the handrail quickly bends out of it's place and bangs at your head with full force.

The strength of the impact is enough to send you straight to the ground, with your head bleeding on the spot from the concussion.

The orangutan points at you and starts laughing. Could it be that the stand user from the boat was the monkey all along? If so, why can't you see his stand? He apparently can control the metal around him, but isnt the stand supposed to have a physical appearance.

You try to get back up as quick as you can, only for the metal handrail fly up to you and bend all over your body, restraining you from moving an inch.

The orangutan now is running up to your lying self with a look that makes your whole body tremble in fear.

>Summon Karma Chameleon and try to break the handrail.

>Wait for him to get close and punch him in the face.

>Try to calm down and focus your breathing again.

Despite your fear, you still have a small charge of hamon on you, and along with the few charges you stored in Karma, this might be just more than enough to turn this fight around...

You wait for him to get closer, only for him to disappear into the wall and come back wearing a sailor's uniform.

He pulls out a dictionary with a grin on his face, pointing to the word "Strength".

He knows how to read?

"Strength. Meaning: Power, Aid, Force, Energy, and the 8th card of the Tarot deck, suggesting powerful will and hidden instinct."

So he was a stand user afterall, but where the hell is his stand?

He comes up to you with a grin in his face, placing his dirty hands around your waist and rubbing your body while you're restrained.

Ok, that's it.

"Overdrive!" The metal from the handrail sends the Hamon to his body like an electrical current, making him pull himself away after the first shock.

Oh you're not getting away after what you did...

You pull him back with Karma Chameleon and send a flurry of punches, with the Hamon from Karma's wooden covered body making him shriek in agony.

"KORESOREKORESOREKORESORE!"

Wait, is your stand talking? Well, as long as it sounds satisfying to listen to...

The punches are strong enough to send the Orangutan flying to the metal door, squishing it, but not entirely breaking it.

While he appears to be gravely wounded, that wasnt quite enough for him to go out yet...

Imagine this.

Dio stands before Hitomi, holding a wine glass of blood. She gives an impassioned "I'm gonna kill you" speech, but Dio is non-plussed. To show how little he cares, he takes a deep drink of the blood... and chokes. His insides are ravaged by Hamon, imparted to the water in the blood via sound waves from Hitomi's "useless ranting". Dio is unable to activate The World, giving Hitomi the initiative.

That's some JOESEPH JOESTAR BRAND BULLSHIT right there.
>>
>>2094272
Fuck man that's fantastic
>>
The handrail thightens it's grip, making it impossible for you to breathe properply, let alone charge your Hamon.

You try to hit him one last time with Karma Chameleon, only for a bunch of metal bars appear from the wall and restrain your stand as well, sending her crashing towards the wall and making her sink in it.

Wait a minute, stands arent supposed to be hurt by regular objects are they? Unless...

Does that mean that the entire ship is his stand?

The situation appears to be hopeless, both you and your stand are restrained, you cant produce your Hamon, and there's no sign of Polnareff coming from the other door.

He walks up to you one last time, but before he was able to grab you one last time...

"CHARIOOOOT!" You hear Polnareff scream out from the other side of the room as the iron door blasts open in the primate's face.

"You thought you could just tie me up to the wall and forget about me, huh? I bet you weren't expecting me to take my Chariot's armor off."

Polnareff appears out of the room, with what appeared to be multiple Silver Chariots behind him.

The panicked orangutan, after looking towards Polnareff's multiple stands, opens up his sailor shirt while cowering in fear.

"I've heard that when frightened, animals show their stomachs to signal they've given up. Are you really asking for forgiveness?"

The monkey nods his head, showing obvious signs of surrendering.

"Too bad. You think i haven't seen what you were doing to this innocent girl? You're not getting out of this unscathed! HORAHORAHORAHORAHORA!" He says, ordering his army of Chariots to rip the enemy stand user to shreds.

"So much for a superhero entrance, huh?" He says, catching his breath while trying to free you of the handrails.

>>
>>2094294
>>2094295
No, I don't believe it was ever said he had a sense for it. There was a moment where Dio was able to figure out that Joseph was protecting himself with Hamon, but I believe that was more of an exchange of cleverness than actually feeling it, based on how the exchange happened.
Even if he did have a sense for it, it probably would be some shit involving only Joestar hamon, because they really liked to emphasize his newfound connection to the family bloodline.

Playing off of Dio's arrogance is a tactic in itself. Although The I doubt he would be arrogant enough to allow us to hit him

Silver Chariot rapidly punctures the monkey to shreds, turning him into a bloody pulpp on the ground, he's surely not getting up after getting a taste of Chariot's rapier.

You humbly thank Polnareff for the saving, while wondering what happened to the crew members he was taking care of.

"It's the reason i took so long to open the door." He says, cleaning your face from the concussion you recieved earlier. "That bastard was trying to suck the crew into the walls, i tried opening the door as soon as i heard you screaming, but that's when i got stuck to the door too. If my Chariot didn't get ridiculously fast after taking it's armor off, i doubt i'd be able to help all of you out."

"We should probably get off this ship before it explodes like the last one, by the way" You joke while reminding him of how your last fight turned out.

"Yeah, about that... You know what happens when a stand user dies with his stand summoned, right?" He nervously asks while rubbing the back of his head.

The handrail slowly falls to the ground and melts away, giving how freedom of movement, however, you notice how fast the freighter is deteriorating the same way the metal handrail did.

By the looks of it, the only way for you not to drown in the ocean is to run back to your boat as soon as possible.

Title of one of the opening tracks to part 3 is called Stand Proud, not Run Proud (and slightly crushed).
Besides, having friends here defines us as different than Dio and his minions, who work alone usually.

Something about hitomi being amazing under pressure?
>>
....so is our character a Hamon prodigy freak of nature like Joseph was?
>>
>>2094390
Nah, Joseph had 50% Joestar genes which gave him an amazing baseline, and 50% Lisa-Lisa genes which also gave him a leg up on Hamon.

Hitomi might just have won the genetic lottery since, as far as we know, neither of her parents or her ancestors were known Hamon prodigies.

>>
Polnareff probably doesnt have time to worry about you, he has about a dozen crew members from the Speedwagon Foundation to help, you can't rely on him twice a day like that.

"H-hey Hitomi, where are you going? Hey!" He shouts after seeing you sprint to the stair case, relying on your stand to leap you across the rooms in case your body failed you.

When you arrive back at the deck, you see your small boat about 30 away from the freighter. Jotaro and the others are already there, waiting for you and Polnareff to show up.

They're still pretty far away, they're probably not gonna reach you before the boat dissipates.

Can you really do another stand leap in your current condition? Maybe if you manage to charge your Hamon....

While running with your injuries made you feel like you're almost about to pass out, after one good charge you start to think that you may have just enough energy to reach the boat.

You ready your jump, call out Karma Chameleon and jump with all of your remaining force.

You thought you were going to miss by a few meters, but Kakyoin seemed to predict your daring move as he summoned out Hierophant Green to grab you when you reached his range.

You did it, you reached the boat.

As soon as you tried to stand up though, you felt all the exhaustion from the previous fight at once, you tried talking to your comrades to see if they could help you out, but your voiced seemed to fail as your eyes kept getting heavier...

September 7th, 1988.

You wake up after what felt like a small nap. When you look around, you seem to be inside a car, resting on Jotaro's shoulder.

"Hey! She's waking up." Kakyoin excitedly says after noticing you opening up your eyes.

"W-What happened? And why am i sleeping on Jotaro...?" You quickly ask the group while feeling a familiar heat rise to your face.

"The SpeedWagon Foundation rescued us last night, they took care of you until we've reached Singapore." Kakyoin explains. "We didnt want to leave you behind, so Jotaro carried you to the car."

"Good grief, Hitomi." Jotaro says, turning his away face from the window. "That was a really stupid gamble you made back there. Why did you have to scare us out like that?"

The mood turns somewhat sour after Jotaro's scolding, but you can definetly see where he's coming from.

"Jotaro has a point, you had us pretty worried back there." Avdol adds. "We're a team on this, it's ok to ask for help when you need it, you know."

"I believe Polnareff got a lot more upset than we did, though." Kakyoin concludes.

You look up to Polnareff in the front seat, staying silent and refusing to turn his face to acknowledge your awakening.

"...How long was i out?" You ask in a softer tone.

"About 12 hours." Polnareff speaks up in a rough tone.

After seeing that this might turn into an argument, Joseph looks to the back seat and has his final say in the matter.

"Look Hitomi. We're happy to know that you're fine. But try not to overexert yourself on this journey. Hamon and stands are helpful, but they aren't magic. So feel free to count on us in tough situations, okay?

>Alright,i understand. Sorry for worrying you guys.

Explain that our internal logic was that Polnareff was the only one capable of helping out the crewmen in the ship, and that we felt needed to be out of his way for their sake. It'll help them see why we chose what seemed like self-reliance, when in actuality it was depending on Polnareff to do something we couldn't do.

"I just want to show that I can be useful too..." You explain your point of view to your group. "But I understand. Sorry for worrying you guys. I promise to rely on all of you more in the future."

"Good to hear." Jotaro is the first to accept your apology.

"You've already proved to be more than useful for us!" Kakyoin compliments you. "There's no shame in asking for help."

"Polnareff." You say to the silent man in the front seat. "I didn't mean to offend you, it was a heat of the moment thing. I just didnt want you to worry about me on top of all the crew members you had to save too--"

"Listen, Hitomi." He finally turns his head to the back seat. "If there's one thing this experience helped me was to remind myself of what i came here for. I'm looking for the man with two right hands. I don't need you for that, the same way you don't need me for fighting Dio, so we're not going to be best buddies just because we're traveling together. I hope you're fine with that."

He turns back to his seat, adding tension to the air when things were almost cooling down.

Avdol looks to Polnareff as if wanting to say something, but ultimately decides to stay quiet, saving that for a more appropriate time.

The remaining 5 minutes of the traveling seems like an eternity due to the awkward silence caused by Polnareff's response. Does he really mean that...? Everyone seemed to understand where you were coming from, why is he still upset?

Eventually, Joseph parks next to a big hotel, which appears to be very popular given the amount of people going in and out of it.

"Alright, let's check in." He says, turning the car's engine off.

"...Right." Avdol complies, opening the door for you and Jotaro.

Choosing to romance any of the 3 crusaders might affect the plot in some form or another:

Potato:
>You might change him into less of a stoic edgelord.
>Special interactions in p4-6 guaranteed.

Pol:
>For once he'll have someone he didnt fail to protect.
>Early fight with Diavolo, preventing cripplereff and the casualties from p5 if you win and guaranting his appearance in p6.

Kakyoin:
>Just like Jotaro he might do something in parts 4-6 if he doesnt get donuted

I just like the idea of Hitomi pursuing all of these dangerous avenues of power, and becoming an antagonist because of a mix of mistrust AND developing a proactive philosophy of addressing dangerous threats vs. the reactive way that the Speedwagon Foundation the Crusaders approach things.

I guess I'm just a sucker for a tragic villain story.
