Grid Lock is a collaborative skirmish game. Build, explore, fight, and loot while enjoying game-boy style sprites. Unlikely to ever be animated.

Once you have read the rules so far and read the character sheet, post it as a reply to this post with a greentext >Deploy. New players spawn in the center (or closest available space) of their chosen Hex tile and can deploy to any currently visible and occupied Hex.

Does a golem know what a cabin is? How would a golem go about building one?

Players can craft raw materials and resources to create a multitude of items. Logs can be converted into Planks, which can then be laid out on Worked Earth (>Till ground) or Stone to provide a foundation. From there, more Planks can be used as walls, a roof, or door. Other materials are suitable for this task, such as dirt, stone, cobblestone, metal, and leaves.

there is a very common theme among skirmish players to make skirmish runner's lifes as difficult as possible resulting in the skirmish's untimely death. I don't want to start my third or fourth skirmish to get invested in only for the QM to get fed up once again and cuts it off
>>
>>2069796
You mean the players flooding the Gm with too much to process? I'd argue it's mostly up to the GM to figure out how much work they can handle and enforce some basic rules to keep this within bounds... Like player caps and clear processing rules. And i am speaking as someone who's run games myself and I know this isn't easy, but very necessary.

Anyway, Fenster's skirmishes are usually simpler. Last one was really pleasant. But it's your call man, no probs.
>>
>>2069834
I mean players getting pissy about any new stuff that doesn't favour them. Progression in a narrative sense is a.) necessary for something as basic as a skirmish to hold a QM's interest and b.) made impossible by sticklers for rules.

But I'm gonna bite, can you give me an example of a previous game by Fenster?

In chronological order, might have forgotten some:
>Fenster's Forge
First skirmish where players were golems in a flat, 2D environment. Ended due to processing issues.
>Noble Magicks
Magical girl/boy themed deal where players form animal-themed contracts to fight malicious spirits based on negative emotions. Was later adopted by Londry who made something much more enjoyable to play and shows a lot of heart.
Grid-Locked Combat
>Went through a lot of variations while attempting to pin down how the game would be ran and what is expected of the players. Based off of Fenster's Forge but with a goal of being simpler with more player-known rules.
Westward: Bullets & Gold
>Western game where players were shadey figures shooting bullets crafted from gold, which was also health, which was also currency. Was a lot of fun to run, but ran into some clarity issues which bogged down enjoyment for everyone. Was intended to be fully animated later on, but got shelved due to how long that would take to process.
Grunts & Drones
>Only got to a testing phase but was fully animated. Feels like it's missing something before it can be officially ran on the board.

Pretty sure there are some others which I forgot, but that's what I can remember for now.

Processing begins. Thank you for waiting.

In review, your movement was overlooked in the prior turn. Movement is partially smart-processed, but reliable movement is best done spelled out in cases such as this. As a note, your movement marked for the previous turn was invalid,
as the chart in the tutorial shows the diagonal movement is allowed only first, and not on the second space of movement. Otherwise the movement example would be a square,
and not closer to a circle. In any case, to make up for lost time in the earlier turn, you may take one more action this phase.

The beastfulk slays the alien creature, rendering it's form back to a dormant state. Meanwhile the grass nearby continues to be devoured by the conflagration. Soon it will be upon the golem domain.
