"You pass," the Grand Kai declares.

"What?!" King Kai asks in disbelief. "Grand Kai, you can't possibly be saying that Tofoo beat you! With all of your-"

"Relax, North Kai," Grand Kai instructs. "Yeah, it's true that I could have kept this up for a while, and had dozens more techniques up my sleeve, but the point of this test wasn't for him to beat me. I was testing him to see what kind of skill he has, and to make sure he uses his head at least a little bit in battle. I'm satisfied."

Powering down from the Kuma-Ken, you bow your head in respect. "Thank you. So, what's the next test?"

"Well, this one might be a little harder," Grand Kai admits. "Or easier, depending..."

He looks to King Kai, then back to you. "Before you can learn the technique you saw me use on Earth, I want to see that you can properly control techniques that involve the life-energy of others."

"What other techniques are there?" King Kai asks, confused.

"Come on, North Kai, weren't you telling me about some ultra-powerful technique you came up with?" Grand Kai asks.

"You mean the Spirit Bomb?" King Kai asks.

Grand Kai nods. "That was it. So, I figure, if Tofoo can master that, he should be able to learn my technique."

King Kai nods, twiddling his thumbs. "Well, yes, but the Spirit Bomb is not an easy trick to master."

"Neither is the one Tofoo's asking for," Grand Kai points out. "But, look at it this way; he has the chance to learn two powerful techniques. Even if he can't master the one he came for, the Spirit Bomb should be useful."

"My ultimate technique," King Kai explains, his tone serious and somewhat grim. "More powerful even than the Kaio-Ken. It's a move that gathers energy from living things, turning that energy into an incredibly powerful blast."

"Well then, let's get started," you tell him.

"Tofoo, I don't think you realize how difficult this technique could be to master," King Kai tells you. "Not even I have completely-"

"Give him a chance, North Kai," Grand Kai tells him. "He never said he thought it would be easy."

King Kai sighs. "Right. Well, Tofoo, come with me. This technique will be far easier to use outside."

And so King Kai leads you through the Grand Kai's mansion, taking you to a quiet, grassy area on the edge of one of the forests that cover the Grand Kai's planet.

"Now, the first challenge will be connecting with other living things to make this attack work," King Kai tells you, putting his hands behind his back and linking them together. "I know you already have some experience with telepathy, so that's a good start. The idea is to connect with other living things, and draw energy from them. Now, with plants, this is simple, as they will freely give you their energy if your intentions are pure. Similarly, most animals can instinctively sense when there is peril, and when something is being done to stop it. Drawing energy from mortals like yourself, on the other hand, is a more difficult thing. You see, mortals, deities, and the like must give up their energy willingly in order for it to be used in this attack."

You close your eyes, attempting to extend your mind's reach and touch the various living things that surround you.

As minutes pass, you find yourself growing more and more frustrated. In this state of extreme concentration, you can feel the energy of the grass, the trees, and some of the animals running through the forest. But, you can't seem to connect with that energy, much less draw it for your own use.

Sighing in frustration, you take a seat, opening your eyes to see King Kai looking down at you.

"I told you this would not be easy, Tofoo," he reminds you. "If you want a quick, easy solution, you aren't going to find it here. If you want these powers, you will need to take time, and be willing to accept the consequences your absence could have on Earth. It is up to you how you proceed."

A small smile comes to the Kai's face, and he gives you a nod, pacing in front of you. "Alright then, give it another try."

You do exactly that, closing your eyes and once again attempting to reach out with your mind to the other living things in the area. Their energy is easier to decipher, but drawing from it continues to prove difficult.

Hours pass as you make attempt after attempt to draw on the energy of the grass and trees. King Kai continues to watch as you struggle to perform even this most basic version of the attack.

Finally, after many hours, you can feel power dripping into you. It's not a whole lot, and it's coming slowly, but you've finally managed to draw energy from other living things.

"Good work," King Kai tells you with a nod. "Now spread it farther."

You do as King Kai instructs, stretching out to take energy from a greater distance; more trees and more plants give you a touch of their energy, and you can feel it slowly beginning to well up inside of you.

Then, you feel a new power connect to yours, accompanied by a strange pressure in your head. More energy flows into your body, and you find that you're able to concentrate it into a small ball above your right palm.

"Yes, excellent, Tofoo!" King Kai shouts with excitement. "You've done it!"

He holds a hand out into the air, and a block of stone appears. He brings his arm back, and hurls the stone into the air, sending it soaring far above you.

Following his lead, you hurl the Spirit Bomb right after it, and the stone is blown into countless pieces that rain down on the forest. King Kai looks extraordinarily pleased, but you feel a frown form on your face.

"This is the Spirit Bomb?" you ask. "Doesn't seem like much."

"Tofoo, keep in mind that you drew that energy from some grass and trees, along with me," King Kai tells you. "Physically, I'm not very powerful, but imagine if your friends had fed energy into that attack."

Well, that would certainly pack a punch, you have to admit.

"Well, that should be enough to satisfy the Grand Kai," King Kai tells you.

Well, there's no telling what Cell's been up to in that time. Still, with these new powers, you should be able to make a difference. Even so, you don't want to waste time. You need to learn what you can from Grand Kai as quickly as you can.

In the Grand Kai's palace, you go to the throne room and tell the Grand Kai of your success. King Kai arrives a minute later, huffing and wheezing.

"Well then, we can get down to business," Grand Kai says, hopping off his throne and landing in front of you. "You're ready to roll, right?"

You place your hand upon the tree, closing your eyes and feeling its energy. It doesn't take all that long for you to connect to the life energy within the large plant, but manipulating it is another matter.

As you attempt to make the tree's life-energy disperse, you feel as if it is actively resisting you, the energy attempting to bundle back together as you spread it apart. Your arm begins to shake, and you grit your teeth in frustration.

"This is the tricky part of the technique," Grand Kai explains. "Living things have a will to survive, and will do what they can to keep the life energy inside themselves."

For a moment, there's mostly silence, save from the occasional "hmm" from King Kai, then finally a gasp of horror.

"OH NOOOO!" you hear him shriek, and your eyes fly open in response.

You turn to see the Kai trembling in terror, sweat dripping down his face.

"What is it, North Kai?" Grand Kai asks.

"It's Cell!" King Kai declares. "He's changed again! That power, it's unbelievable!"

You feel ready to vomit. Cell was a monster before, but if he's reached his perfect form, you shudder to think of just how terrible he might be now.

"I can't find Chaozu...." King Kai gulps. "Or Tenshinhan, or Yamcha."

You begin to tremble, anger, grief, and fear rushing through to the very core of your being. Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Chaozu...

Your friends are dying, Cell is complete, and you weren't there to stop it. You failed to protect your friends, and you failed to stop this massive threat from growing even more powerful. The Earth could very well be doomed now.

This anger and guilt gives you focus, strangely enough, and you try once again, placing your hand upon the tree and manipulating its energy. This time, your will proves far stronger, and you open your eyes to see the tree dissolve into dim, blue lights that slowly move off in various directions before vanishing altogether.

"There you go, kid," the Grand Kai tells you.

Not satisfied with bringing down one tree after all of that struggle, you decide to continue practicing, wanting full mastery over the technique.

And so you continue, practicing on tree after tree, finding it easier each time, and noticing something interesting about your own energy each time you perform the technique. A bit of your energy seems to leak out whenever you use the technique, and you fire off a blast of energy into the sky to see if it's unique to the technique Grand Kai taught you.

As the attack leaves your body, you feel still more energy leaking with it, beyond what was in the blast. Throwing some punches results in the same thing, and so, as you continue, you make a concentrated effort to keep your energy from leaking out of your body.

With each movement, each technique, less and less leaks out, until finally, you manage to keep it within you, and feel something spread through your body.

An increasingly familiar pressure seems to surround you, and it's quickly followed by a blue aura that spreads out from your body. You look down at your hands, wondering about this new power.

"Well, I'll be..." Grand Kai remarks, actually sounding legitimately surprised for once.

"I-is that-" King Kai stammers.

"Godly ki," Grand Kai confirms.

If nothing else, Cell in canon underused his techniques. Even Som is only using him at maybe 80%. Be glad Cell isn't spamming Solar Flare/Kienzan/Ki Sword/Tail Absorption like it's going out of style.

It is when two of the times he was killed he was completely annihilated by ki blasts with no time to do shit. That's just as bad as genetic memory. It can work for things that are just a matter of memorization and can be with some effort physically imitated by anyone like a fighting style or dancing, but ki techniques are pretty much magic that not even a fighting prodigy like Videl can grasp beyond learning how to fly. It is even worse because as a computer that data is just that, visual data that can analyze all it wants but it can't quite get the feel and whatever mystical mumbo jumbo that involves developing the ability to unleash blinding light or shoot a wave of energy from your bare hands.

Since we unlocked god ki completely in the sense that it doesn’t require life or death situation now and we fuse with Goku. Would some of it transfer to him or would it be easier for him to unlock it later on if we activated it when fused?

I would say no. Judging by how fusion works in dragon ball, they don't seem to share their memories once they separate, or at least they never showed Goku or Vegeta spontaneously knowing the memories or techniques of the other, as seen with how Vegeta never used the instant transmission and Goku never used the galick hou.

However, once Tofoo mastered god ki, he could pull a Whis and teach other warriors how to get god ki the hard way, just like how Vegeta got his god form just by training rather than by ritual of god saiyan.

In short order, you are taken into the Grand Kai's mansion, to a room staffed by odd little creatures that somehow resemble sentient pieces of food. You're kind of glad that Goku isn't here, because you aren't positive that he wouldn't try to eat these creatures.

Grand Kai was right in praising their abilities, and within a day, you are as right as rain.

King Kai returns you to the check-in station, and you make your own way back to Earth, arriving on the Lookout.

Piccolo sits, meditating not far away. Lapis is leaning against a wall in the entryway, looking somewhat bored, though his eyes at least open when he senses your energy.

"Well, look who finally made it back," he remarks, sounding just a tad annoyed. "So, how was Otherworld?"

"Trunks hit him with a surprise attack and knocked him off the Lookout," Lapis explains. "There was a battle in the forest below us, and it didn't go well. Trunks nearly got himself killed."

Saying goodbye to Lapis, you step to the edge of the Lookout, closing your eyes and feeling for your son's energy. You're able to detect him a few minutes after beginning your search, on an island in the South.

"Kai-Kai" you speak aloud, teleporting there in an instant.

You find your son standing in the surf, his energy causing the water near him to swirl, form waves, and even part in some areas. The fury pouring off of him is palpable, and you get the sense that you should start this conversation carefully.

Better question, who is stronger once tofoo masters kami-ken? Speaking of which, tofoo has learned to amplify his kis, absorb ki, and disperse ki. He's also nearly mastered his ki amplification to thr point he feels next to no strain from it, putting his body at a level that only races with the natural ability to transform and change their body's composition and ki were shown yo be capable of. Add this with his varuious types of ki manipulation, from holding the energy and molding it into a blade, elemental types of ki, teleportation, and telepathy, as well as other tricks, and it's pretty evident that Tofoo is both easily the greatest master of ki control in human history, and arguably in the universe, at least not counting actual gods, and he still beats out most of them.
