Damn… Whoever this guy ‘7w157’ is, he never stood a chance! This complete obliteration of a fight shouldn’t need to be called as such; this amateur got the beating of his life. Now to unmask this hooded figure…

“W-what did you do to him…?” Howie asks from afar. He seems to have sprained his ankle after the fall he took. Why care about what this complete loser has to say? As you think this, you remember how he reminded you of yourself when you were more of a complete loser than you are now. But you shrug that off - there's more to do right now.

Anyway you took this mysterious kid's hood off, and revealed his true identity…!

“I don’t know who the hell this guy is.” He looks rather young; he’s probably a first year. But no matter how young he is, a white flame is still a white flame. You should get rid of it.
“We need to get rid of him for good.” The ever serene Matilda says.
“I-I don’t think we should use drastic measures like that.” Girl, he was probably manipulated by that sorry, obnoxious, limping fellow, just behind you two.
“Indeed. That would cost extra.” That’s not the point Matilda. “What’s next? I don’t want to stain my records with a beating. You also need to explain to me what’s going on.” She stares at the unconscious kid in front of her, probably reminiscing about the moment his partner grabbed her.
“S-Stop ignoring me…!” Howie shrieks, like an unattended spoiled kid in a playground.

There are many questions that need to be answered, but you need to deal with this potential threat right now…

What do you do?

>Take the kid to the infirmary and call for backup. Leave Howie to fuck off.
>Take both Howie and the kid to the infirmary and call for backup. Use Philonune to restrain Howie while you do so.
>Tell Matilda to do something with Howie while you take this kid to Constance. You can't have Matilda in danger of his flame if he wakes up.
>Lock both of them in the storage room and call for backup. They can't get free easily from that, right?

New Dice Mechanic:

I use the average (the mean) of the 3 best rolls and success will be determined by the difficulty I specify for the action or prompt. If there are less than 3 rolls I’ll do the math with the ones I have.
Above 45 is a success in a normal roll. Above 65 is a success in a hard roll. The hardest rolls I won’t specify because I find it more fun if I don’t.

"Look Howie, you know what you just did? You just attempted to have me mugged. Did you see what he did Matilda? He tried to lure me here so his friend can ambush me. It would really suck if the police heard about this and arrested the both of you right? If you want to not end up in front of a firing squad, I suggest you spill the beans Howie.

“Before we do anything, could you check on him? Maybe perform some first aid, I don't want him to die.”
“He’s fine. I know from experience.” I mean, she was the one who knocked him down, and his flame is still there – so he’s alive.
“Fine, I guess I should be moving” You stand up and prepare to carry this kid. “Oh and if you really want to know what’s going on, it’ll cost extra.”
“Changing roles, hmm...?" Matilda grins. "Maybe I’ll give you a discount for my services, as trade...” She seems rather intrigued.
“Let’s strike a deal; you deal with Howie while I get rid of this kid, then I’ll explain to you what’s going on. Deal?”
“Deal. I’ll give you a call later.” Matilda stands up and slowly walks towards Howie, he trips on his injured ankle and falls down on the ground once again like the little rat he is. Matilda grabs him by the shirt, turns around and gives you a thumb up. You don’t want to know what is going to happen to Howie. Especially from what little you know of Matilda.
With that said and done, it’s time to take '7w157' to Calamity’s clinic. But that codename is kind of a mouthful to keep saying, so you might as well refer to him as Twist. That's totally what his name is. Yeah.
You use Philonune in the same manner you and Osgood got Barry near the clinic. Like you’re a gifted powerlifter, you put this rather skinny guy over your shoulders with your partner really carrying the weight. You both leave the front yard of your school and now are outside the gate.

“This is very inefficient.” You say as you struggle to juggle the kid in a convincing manner.
“It’s everything we got. But it's all we need.” Philonune accepts destiny as it is, his smile looking barely strained at all.
“Maybe I can come up with something…” You think with all your might...

Walking this kid to Calamity’s clinic will take hours. You could risk it and go to the subway for a faster ride, but you don’t know what will happen once people spot you carrying around an unconscious kid like this. Probably concern and panic, or some more inconvenience.

What do you do?

>Walk. The safest way to not get caught. Besides, Philonune is strong enough to keep this up.
>Go to the subway. You have no idea how you’re going to deal with security, but it’s faster.
>Call a Taxi. There is always a Plan C, and convincing just one man is way easier than passing through security. You don’t know how much it will cost though.
>Write In.

“Hmm… I don’t see any other easy solution but to walk this one out. I don’t feel risky today.” You say to your floating comrade. “But now that we’re talking about not being reckless, I need to alert the rest of the group about the situation.” You take your phone out and start texting with one hand.
“Good idea.” Philonune agrees like always as he patiently waits for you.

Before you start going, you search his pockets to see if he has anything on him. You found his phone and 3 Gor$... You’re a good boy, so you left it there.
You start walking with your partner towards the clinic. Traversing half a city is an exhausting task, but it could be worse – you could be really carrying Twist instead of Philo doing it! Is having Philonune invoked taxing for your body? You never asked Osgood if he felt tired after the charade with Barry… But right now, you don't feel tired at all. After a few minutes you hear your phone vibrating; you’re receiving a call from your favorite teacher, Ms. Uccelli! You quickly answer.

“…W-where are you?” Uccelli asks, as you get the feeling over the phone that she's moving quickly, for some reason. She sounds mildly annoyed too.
“I’m some blocks away from school going towards the clinic. What are you doing…?” You respond dryly. It’s no big deal.
“I-I’m disguising myself…!” Of course she is, you think she enjoys looking stupidly out of place… Wait; with what clothes? Maybe she has spare clothes in the school! She had that Lana outfit ready, after all.
“Can you send me a pic...?” You joke in a slightly lewd voice.
“Ando…” The disappointed sound of your teacher never ceases to amuse you.
“I'm just joking, come on.” You shrug even though she can’t see it.
“A-anyway, I’ll catch up with you as soon as I can…!” She hangs up. You wonder what disguise she is going to use this time.
As you lost yourself in your fantasies, you received another call – it’s Osgood.

“Hey there, you okay?” Osgood sounds concerned.
“Yeah, I’m doing pretty well.” Not even a scratch… Ignoring your wounds from before.
“Fantastic, where are you? I think I can help you out.” Osgood sounds a lot more enthusiastic than he did before. Guess he's bored too.
“Some blocks from school, near a gas station.” You look around to determine your location.
“You know, I wanted to give you guys are a surprise – but this is prime opportunity to show the new stuff I got!” He says with confidence.
“Uh…?” What could possibly be?
“You’ll see! Wait for me there.” He hangs up. Why is everyone so rude? Can’t they say goodbye like a normal person would?

Maybe you should wait, as two people are coming your way to help. You make Philonune hold Twist the same way you fooled the staff at the hospital that one time. After several minutes of waiting, Uccelli appears utterly confused by the situation at hand. She’s wearing, once again, "her sister’s" outfit.

“W-what are you doing…?” She checks Philonune out like he’s the strangest thing she has ever seen. She saw him before, why is she acting like this?
“Waiting for you, Lana.” Another joke of yours, you hope it lands.
“Oh right… Lana…” She doesn’t like the idea of faking being a sister she never had. “So let’s get going, shall we?! You can tell me what exactly happened on the way.” She fakes enthusiasm as she changes her tone of voice to the younger sounding one. You can tell the hangover is still affecting her a little as she looks even more tired than usual.

You still need to wait for Osgood… Or should you?

>Tell Uccelli that Osgood is coming! He has a surprise ready for you two after all!
>Be a dick and walk out on him with only Uccelli. Osgood is a smart man, maybe he can catch up with you two...

“Uhm… Don’t worry about walking just yet. Osgood is coming too, so we can stay here for the meantime. He has a surprise for us.” You reply to the impatient Lana.
“A surprise…? What could possibly be?” She asks in a deadpan tone. She barely knows Osgood so she has no clue what to expect.
“I have no idea. Are you feeling okay? You don’t look so good.” You get closer to your teacher.
“I-it’s nothing…” She moves away, embarrassed...
“Dr. Calamity can get you an ibuprofen or something.”
“That sounds great.” Uccelli looks better at your suggestion. As better as a woman on a hangover can look, at least.

You casually update Uccelli about the situation at hand and how you ended up with Twist here. After you finish, you hear a voice calling your name from the streets – It’s Osgood! And he’s driving an old rusty van… Where did he get that pile of junk?

“Hey Johnny! I’m here, check this thing out!” He seems awfully excited about the vehicle he’s driving, the machine doesn’t look particularly comfortable or in good shape.
“Hey Osgood.” You respond without much emotion as him, but you still sound happy. The "cavalry" did just show up after all.
“Osgood is nice to see you.” Uccelli greets your enthusiastic friend. He doesn’t seem to recognize her until a few seconds passed.
“You’re Uccelli, right…? What happened to you? You look different.” It’s not like Osgood and Uccelli know each other that well.
“It’s my disguise.” She proudly responds. It’s not a good disguise, but you don't tell her that.
“Great, hop on. I’ll take you to the clinic.”

You three go on board. Everyone ended up in the back of the van. You take the phone from the unconscious kid and take off its SD card and SSD chip. Just in case for future data recovery or something.

“Hey, you know there is an empty seat here.” Osgood says as he starts moving the vehicle.
“I need to be here for backup if this kid wakes up.” Uccelli clarifies.
“Hey Johnny – Explain what’s going on with this kid. He has a white flame, right?” Osgood continues driving.
“Yeah, what happened was…” You explain the events again. After Osgood is well-informed the conversation quickly changes topics.
“So why did you get a van?” You ask you poker partner.
“One of my friends’ dad was selling this as a piece of junk, it wasn’t in terrible shape and I had the money, so I bought it. And with Sewel’s help I had this rolling like a new one.” Sewel…? Oh that’s the other poker player, who looked intimidating.
“Is he a mechanic?” Uccelli asks with slight interest.
“Yeah, he is. Weird fellow, but a nice guy regardless.” Osgood describes his friend without putting much thought into it.
“Maybe he can fix my motor scooter…” Uccelli seems somewhat excited now.
“Anyway, I bought it because I also remember our bad experience transporting that stinky hobo to the hospital. And since we’re gathering quite the group, I thought it could be handy in the future.” Osgood showing his worth! As a getaway driver...

“Yeah, good idea.” You reply.
“Damn right its a good idea. I sacrificed almost all my savings for this; I could have gotten a nicer car.” Osgood replies somewhat jokingly, smirking from where he is.
“I-I’m sorry about that.” Uccelli sounds guilty now.
“What…? No! I’m just joshing you. I don’t care.” Osgood tries to relieve the atmosphere.
“Hey Uccelli, do you know this kid?” You ask your teacher to change the topic.
“I don’t… Maybe he’s from another school?” Uccelli doesn’t have an answer.

Eventually you arrive at Calamity’s clinic. You take the kid out and drag him inside the clinic. A confused Calamity sees you three entering without understanding what’s going on. He gets closer to you and asks what brings you four here…

>Explain the situation to Calamity. It’s time for him to know about the flames and how important Constance is. Even if this is going to worry your boss.
>Tell him you found him near the park and he needs medical attention. Sometimes lying can be for one's own good.
>Lie and tell him a convoluted story about Constance being a purifier and this guy has some sort of demon. It’s not completely false, but you don’t want to scare Mr. Calamity. Besides Twist still has those weird robes on him.

You’re going to do this multiple times, so might as well explain the situation to Mr. Calamity. You quickly ask your group for approval first.

“Helping hands are always welcome on my end. Besides, not telling Calamity would be putting him and Constance in unnecessary danger all over again.” Uccelli believes in the good-hearted but terrifying looking man. I guess she's used to threatening-looking students being softies deep down.
“I don’t like it, really. I don’t really like the idea of telling more people about us and what is going on. One slip here and there – and BAM! We’re going to start dealing with the police or even worse.” Osgood opposes the plan. Yeah, more people spreading this information is quite dangerous.
“I think you’re overthinking it. For all I know, this information is already all over the internet. That’s why Howie knew. ” You shrug. It’s not important at this point. Besides to many people, this would sound too ridiculous to be true.
“Yeah, now that you mentioned it… I guess it doesn’t really matter, and having a doctor as an ally would solve a lot of future problems we could have.” Osgood just has too many doubts for no reason. But you guess someone needs to take that role in the group.
You turn around, take a deep breath, and start explaining to your boss what’s going on, including why Constance was attacked. After carefully listening to your crazy talk he comes up with an answer.

“This explains everything… Not only the attack but—” Calamity shakes his head. He seems to have puzzled everything together in his mind. “I understand, Ando. I don’t think I fully grasp how dangerous this whole issue is, but I care about my patients and more importantly, about little Constance. Everything you have done so far is proof enough to believe this outlandish story, and that you ultimately have good intentions. If you need my help, I’ll be glad to be of assistance...” Calamity closes his eyes and nods professionally.
“If you don’t mind me asking, why are you being so kind…?” You know the man is somewhat generous, but this is going to an incredible length.
“I don’t know… Why did you help me and Constance when those thugs attacked us…? If you know the answer, you should know mine. HahahAHhahHAH!” He gives you his trademark spooky laugh. For the first time, you genuinely smile while he does it.

Well Twist is barely breathing and his flame is smaller than before; maybe you should let Calamity check on him first…

“Ehm… I think you should check on this kid. He’s dangerous, but I don’t want him dead.”
“Let’s lift him up and drag him to that room.” Mr. Calamity points to one of the doors. You, Osgood and Calamity lift the kid to the examination room. Why you didn’t use Philonune is a mystery to you. You three leave him on a bed, then you and Uccelli stay inside with Calamity as he examines the guy. Osgood goes outside to park the van properly.

“You think he will be fine, doctor?” Uccelli respectfully asks Calamity.
“This is closer to the injuries young Ando received a week ago. I need to check on him too, see how his wounds are. This child will be fine, but maybe you should find a way to not cause these type of injuries to the people you bring here, eh? HaHAhAHhAHHahh!” Calamity replies with his usual laugh, completely relaxed. “I should check on Ando since he’s here too.”
“I-I feel fine.” You respond.
“It’s a routine check, do not worry.” Calamity is patching up the kid’s face. “Also, your young lady here doesn't seem to look too good. Do you want me to check on you too? I'm a professional.”
“I’ll be happy if you have something for a headache.”
“I have plenty for something trivial like that!” Calamity smiles.

You took so much time that Twist starts slowly opening his eyes. The moment he sees Calamity’s face, he starts screaming like a little bitch.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!” Yup. Just like a little bitch…
“Calm down, child. I’m a doctor, not a ghost!” Calamity laughs at the absurdity.
“Yeah, Frankenstein maybe! Get the hell away from me weirdo…!” The uncreative kid answers back as he tries to move away. He quickly realizes his head is not in a good place right now.
“…Frankenstein, seriously?” Even Calamity seems unimpressed, as if he's heard worse. “Don’t do any sudden movements, or you will become dizzy. What was his name again, Ando?” Calamity turns and asks you.
“…A-Ando?! OH GOD! IT’S THAT KID…! GET AWAY FROM ME!”
“Calm down!” Uccelli easily shuts this kid up like she does with your classmates. That’s the power of a teacher.
“W-what are you going to do with me…?” Twist asks as he realizes there is no way out.

>”I didn’t intend to hurt you. But we are going to take your flame regardless.” Be polite and truthful. You don’t hold anything against this kid.
>”None of your business, so shut up and deal with it.” Be aggressive! Show him who’s the boss.
>”Can you sedate him, doctor?” He’s probably going to scream and you don’t want to deal with that.

“I just want to ask you some questions.” You tried to sound as relaxed as possible. Poor kid is already in a bad situation, you don’t want to stress him even more.
“W-why…?” He still has his doubts
“Lay down, child. It’s better for you.” Calamity tells Twist. Seeing everyone being so calm relaxes the kid. “How are you feeling?”
“I-I feel okay…” He quickly replies, he only wants to get away.
“Can you answer some questions? I’ll try to be brief.” You said to the kid.
“Do I have any other option?”
“Not for now.” You reply. “Let’s start with the simple one. Whose side are you on?”
“The good guys' side…” He didn’t say it with a lot of conviction. “Okay, I’m not sure about that. But I have sweet powers.”
“This is dangerous; imagine if someone else with this type of power did attack you. You could be dead.” Uccelli says to the naïve kid.
“…!”
“No need to stress him.” Calamity says.
“He’s not going to like what he’s going to hear anyway...” Uccelli is rather blunt. Maybe she wants to scare the kid into submission.

“Aaah! Shut up! I know what I’m doing. With Howie’s help we’re going to take this world.” His childish nature shows again. It reminds you of the way Blake used to act. Maybe the behavior these monsters adopt with younger people is completely different than with adults. Kids are easier to manipulate. All of this is conjecture though.
“Are you? Because you were the easiest opponent I had so far.” You tell him this while smiling.
“You caught me off guard, that’s all.” The cocky kid replies.
“You ran straight to me…” You keep questioning him.
“Shut up! You all should shut up…!” He’s acting rude and besides no one but you was talking. What a shit kid.
“One last question. What’s your relationship with Howie?”
“We’re friends, we met online. That’s all you need to know.” He responds quickly. He seems to be the brawn of the team. And you know your team sucks when your brawn is a skinny annoying kid.
“I have some bad news. There is no doubt in my mind you’re being manipulated by your partner. Now what do we do to you, hmm…?” You adjust your glasses to emphasize your decision.

This kid won’t go into details and is somewhat uncooperative. You feel like you’re not going to gain much from him. You're probably going to get more information in those chips you took than asking this guy. Maybe it’s time to feed Athelone a new snack…

Oh I feel like we're going to wipe it out anyways. But unless we kill the kid, "normies" can still cause lots of problems.

What are we gonna do if he burns our house down?

“What are you talking about…? How am I being manipulated by him…?” The kid doesn’t really get it. As he whines, you signal Dr. Calamity to sedate him with your hands. Calamity somehow gets it and quickly injects the kid with… something. That didn’t seem like normal procedure. “W-what was that…?”
“We’re going to take your flame away kid. Sorry.” You say to the tired looking Twist, for a second there he looked horrified but fell asleep immediately after. He twitches for a bit until he completely stops moving.
“What was that…?” Uccelli wonders.
“He’ll be okay. I’m a professional.” Calamity creepily smiles as he carefully puts Twist in a comfortable position. Uccelli is crept out by this. “Of course I will pledge for you two to remain silent about this.”
“Okay, let’s take him to Constance.” You tell Uccelli. Time to finish this whole debacle.

With Philonune’s help and Uccelli by your side, you drag Twist to Constance’s room. Your favorite spooky girl is sitting enjoying the book you bought her before. She sees you and instantly becomes cheerful like nothing even happened - she doesn’t even care about the man you’re carrying or the fact Philonune is summoned. The room's ceiling is pitch black; seems like her friends are here.

“Hey Constance.” You salute your small little friend.
“Don’t be loud, my friends are sleeping.” She whispers loudly as she closes the book she has and leaves on the table next to her bed. Uccelli waves at her and Constance waves back. She can see flames so she probably knows it’s your teacher… Wait, what are you talking about? Of course she knows, her disguise is awful!
“S-sorry… We came here to give Athelone a new treat.” You lower your voice.
“Oh I see, let me call her.” She takes some of her bandages off and summons Athelone. The weird spirit appears as the darkness in the room moves away from her, with a scattered motion you think is the empty flames' fear. With no hesitation in her eyes, Athelone grabs the white flame and pulls it to her, mouth opening, and it joins the fate of many others… It happened quickly, but you know you saw too much teeth that shouldn't belong there... Twist now is flameless.
“Thank you.” Uccelli remarks as she watches in awe what just transpired.
“Hehehe…” Constance can’t contain her happiness for being useful.
“Now it’s time to dispose of the body.” You say in a jokingly manner. Uccelli nods as Constance looks a bit disappointed by this short visit.
“I understand… I like your book Johnny, by the way.” She whispers with enthusiasm.
“Glad you like it. Next time I visit we’ll talk about it. And if you feel impatient, we can sleep talk or whatever Athelone does.”
“Yay!” A blissed Constance almost yells, but stops herself.

“Let’s go back to school and ditch him here. I have to check on Matilda anyway.” You say to Uccelli as you start carrying Twist yet again with Philonune’s help.
“I don’t think Mr. Dewitt can’t do anything against Ms. Spice. But maybe you’re right; we need to check on those two.” Uccelli responds.

You two say goodbye to little Constance, and leave towards the main door of the clinic. Uccelli tried to open it but its shut, you tried your hand on it too but you’re unable to budge it. Suddenly your phone starts ringing… You pick it up.

“Johnny…! Didn’t you read any of my texts?” It’s Osgood…! What is he talking about?
“What…?” You ask.
“Just open the front door for me.”
“We can’t open it.” You say as you slowly put down Twist near the door.
“Maybe Mr. Calamity locked the door. Go and ask him for the key.”
“Alright, give me a mi—” Suddenly the call ends. Was Osgood this rude before…? Or maybe…

“I’ll ask Mr. Calamity for the keys. Is that one his office?” Why isn’t he at his counter? Maybe he’s doing some paperwork. But yes that is his office.
“Yeah, that's the one.” You say, wondering what’s going on. Uccelli tries to open the door but it doesn’t budge either.
“Johnny, what’s going on…?” Uccelli starts looking worried, and as she turns back to you she's also starting at the shadowy corners of the room.

It’s nothing to worry about…. Right...?

>“It’s an old building.” That’s not it and you know it.
>“Ghosts.” Respond as deadpan as possible. What can you do against them…?

“Ghosts.” You reply in a very blunt deadpan.
“Ghosts…? Don’t be so ridiculous.” She laughs at your answer.
“Hold on a second. We have inter-dimensional demons, a mummy girl, and whatever disgusting creature Calamity resembles, but you draw the line at ghosts…?”
“Of course I’m joking. You told me about them before. But Constance is here, so this shouldn't be happening, Am I correct?” Uccelli wonders. You have no answers for that, you don't even know how Athelone works.
“Speaking of Constance, we should go check on her.” You walk towards her room, looking around you as you do so.
“Wait for me…” Uccelli gets closer to you as you walk through the hallway. You find Constance’s room and try to open it. It’s also closed and unable to open.

“Hmm… It’s closed too.” You're disappointed. With her by your side this would be a cakewalk to deal with.
“Constance! Are you alright...?!” Uccelli shouts, but gets no answer. The black phantoms on the ceiling start to move hectically, but they don’t leave their spot. “Oops, I didn’t mean to do that.” She apologizes in a loud whisper, eyes on the phantoms.
“Constance did say we should be quiet.” You say to ‘Lana’.

Suddenly you start hearing a piano from one of the rooms…!

“This feels like a cheap horror movie.”
“Let’s try not to do any dumb clichés then, alright?” Uccelli responds with disdain for the absurdity of the situation. You two are supposed to be scared, but it isn’t really working.

A dog’s barking is heard from a different room altogether. Slowly, the clinic’s lights start turning into a dim crimson, like a bad artsy flick from a shitty festival no one heard of before. The doorknobs of every room but the ones making the noises vanish into the air.

“…” You don’t like where this is going.
“We’re not opening these doors, right?”

The stage is set for you to open one, and you don't have much of a choice, so…

>Open the dog barking door.

“I mean we have to… What else we could do?” You reply to a mildly scared Nina.
“…I don’t like this.” Your worried teacher declares.
“I know…”
“So which one…?” Uccelli gives up making logic from the situation.
“This one.” You point to the one you hear the piano from, then you hold Uccelli’s hand. She has a very smooth skin… Anyway you caught her off guard! She looks at you confused and embarrassed. Her reaction made you nervous for a moment.
“Johnny…?!” She freezes in place. You think her face is getting red, but all the lights in here are red so who knows?
“W-we’re supposed to do this in horror mo-movies.” If your courage was a little higher, you wouldn’t get so nervous.
“D-d-d-don’t tremble, you’re ma-making me nervous too…! And what happened to not doing clichés? This is totally a movie cliché!” The phantoms start shrieking gradually… She holds your hand tighter. “Ju-just open one!”
“O-okay…” You gather enough courage to open the door. Technically you’re not too scared of what’s happening, but holding hands is making your thought process a bit shaky.

Inside the piano room is… well, a piano. Why would a piano be in a clinic…? I mean, Calamity looks weird and all, but he isn’t this strange. The mysterious piano is being played by itself doing a classical melody; you don’t remember which song it is, but it’s familiar to you.

“Cl-close this damn door! There is nothing inside!” Nina is losing her composure. Holding hands is really putting you both in a bad spot. Anyway, the piano suddenly stops dead the moment Nina says that last sentence.

I forgot to copy the first paragraph, I'm a dumbass (Please forgive me):

Before you do something, you try to rationalize the situation you’re in. Obviously the same thing that happened to you while you were cleaning up one of the rooms is happening now, the one time when Constance wasn’t here and you wanted extra pay. You remember one friendly participant ended up helping you… Is he close…? There is no way to know. In other news, the barks remind you of something… That’s right! They are from Yukika’s dog Chewirton! Too bad you already made your mind and want to open the piano door.

“Could you play Lotus Land? I hear it the other day and I—”
“Ando, what are you talking about?"
“You don’t like piano?”
“Well, usually I do. But not right now. Are we going in there or what?” Uccelli wants an answer.
“Let’s get closer…” You summon Philonune with your other hand. Uccelli does the same with Icioba. You two while still holding hands move together slowly towards the piano.

“Dumbasses” a mysterious voice exclaims coming from the piano, a black phantom appears on the piano and suddenly dissolves into a mist that moves towards the door behind you. The door slams loudly shut behind you two.

“Shit.” You say, knowing you felt into their trap.
“Wa-watch your language…” Uccelli’s teacher side never gets rest, does it?

Both of your turn around with your partners summoned, and see a small man with no feet and his face obscured…! It’s Twist yet again, but he now seems possessed by whatever spirit is causing this! His eyes and mouth spew out what appears to be a black flame, but that sinking feeling you get from looking at it tells you it's completely unlike your usual black flame. Twist doesn’t look human to you anymore.

“We forgot about him…!”
“I didn’t know they could do that.” You’re surprised. You've read shit about ghosts and demons possessing people, but this is almost beyond that!
“Ghosts are known to possess people, Ando.” Your response is so dumb to Uccelli that she actually stops shaking in fear for a second.
“You know you have to confirm this kind of stuff before throwing random conjectures…”

“Give us your bodies, we want another chance…” A distorted voice says, coming from the man known as Twist.

You two are still holding hands, isn’t that a bad position to be in for a life-or-death battle…? Are you even willing to fight right now…?

You know what’s reckless, hilarious, and most likely to be an effective offensive maneuver…? Throwing a goddamn piano! You don’t have this option everyday, so let’s try it! You move Uccelli’s hand towards you, she turns around and you wink at her – she understands your signal and together you both move gracefully like dance partners towards the large musical instrument while still holding hands for some reason. Philonune and Icioba grab the piano together, one with his hands the other with her claws…

“Stop…! Running is futile…! We have sealed every door! There is no E-S-C-A—” Before he could finish his dumb ghost terrorizing speech, within an eyeblink, the large piano impacts on the kid once known as Twist. The piano fragments on your target’s entire body, and outright shatters entirely, making the loudest most discordant TWANG you have ever heard in your whole life. Like something out of an old cartoon, but amplified several times over within the enclosed space of the room, the brief chaotic sound reverberating off the walls and into your ears within seconds. You and Uccelli both cringe in pain, but you still don't let go of each other.

Maybe that was overkill… But for it to be overkill, your target needs to die! While a lot of flames escape Twist’s body, some of them still remain. Twist's body is also very much intact, though it has extremely noticable bruises and impact wounds on a lot of places. And are those piano keys stuck in his flesh? Though you still have no idea how much real damage this attack did to the kid, what with the phantom possession and all – the deed isn’t done. Not yet.

“W-why we do that…?” Uccelli seems to have recovered from the ear trauma, and just now seems to realize throwing a piano is maybe too much to fight a spirit. Hell, you’re even surprised the piano wasn’t just an illusion or something.
“Because we had a once-in-a-lifetime chance of doing so.” You try to justify your juvenile but respectable wish for launching a piano right into a motherfucker at vehicle speeds.

The bad guy tries to recuperate, the flames flickering wildly and trying to hold together, but maybe the damage is too much for it to even continue against you two. Even though getting him in this state caused him to stagger, it didn’t seem to affect the rest of the building. While he’s an enemy right now, he’s not the main source that’s causing this disruption.

What do you do?

>Finish him with a punch to the face. That would make the flames leave the body for sure! (Extremely Easy Roll 1d100)

“Stop possessing Twat or whatever his name was, you damn specters!” You try to reason with them. They did get a piano on the face, so they should seriously think about quitting before they evaporate from existence.
“There is no other way… We will perish fighting… Or we will make YOU perish.” The distorted voice rejects your weak attempt at diplomacy.
“Is there a point to keep fighting…? I suppose what you were talking about was about the war, correct? Then you guys already got eliminated, stop this nonsense.” Uccelli tries to reason in another way. Her pessimism is her way to make them understand…! She stopped holding your hand though.
“…”
“Any other way we will be glad to help, please – you’re hurting this kid more than the piano did.” Don’t pretend you didn’t help throwing it…
“If we stop you all, we can survive… This is our only chance… We need to kill you.” That’s true, but…
“We promise that if we somehow one of us win, we will not destroy the universe or whatever some of your pairs are planning to do.” You tell the shadowy Twist.
“You promise…?” The monster asks sounding like a chorus of the demised begging for redemption.
“I’ll do my best.” You shrug in your particular way to answer. The monster smiles and the spirits within him start leaving the body of the derpy piano-eating kid. All is left is him on the ground as the flames disperse to the ceiling, and in good news the piano attack didn’t seem to leave any injuries on Twist’s body! – The specters received all the damage; you know you still need to check him. Despite all of this, the place is still lit red and the gloomy atmosphere is still going. The real enemy hasn’t been defeated yet. You two leave the room carrying Twist and as soon as you both step outside, the door disappears. We have only one door left. The barking dog can’t be heard anymore. You wonder if Chewirton is okay…
Ms. Uccelli checks on the fallen kid to check if he got any more injuries, like you suspected before – he still completely fine.

“Thank god, that was so reckless of us.” Uccelli seems relieved. 'Killing kids' is not on her checklist of things to do as a teacher.
“We still need to deal with whatever is behind this door.” You adjust your glasses. Uccelli nods and carefully leaves Twist on the ground away from the next battlefield.

You grab the doorknob and open the final room for you to fight in! Inside there is wounded Chewirton in one of the corners of the room next to the door. The rest of the place looks pitch black, you can’t make what’s inside here…

“Johnny Ando, I have been waiting for you. Please step inside. You alone.” The strange distorted voice comes from the darkness; the voice is familiar to you.
“Are you an imbecile…? Why would he enter alone?” Uccelli questions the voice with her school-renowned condescending tone.

“If he doesn’t, the small prey there will die.” The darkness slowly approaches the wounded Chewirton.

“Nothing... yet...” The evil black mass almost laughs at Uccelli, sounding smug enough to annoy you too. She gets angry and tries to get inside, but you quickly grab your teacher’s arm, stopping her from doing something stupid. You nod at her and move your eyes signaling she’s going with you. She nods back and both of you stare at the darkness. “Come to us, Johnny Ando...” The voice once again beckons you inside, and you swear you hear deep chuckling from there.

With no hesitation, you jump inside the room and grab Chewirton as fast as you can! You invoke Philonune, and with no trouble you fend off the darkness’ tentacles arms that were closing in from the sides. Uccelli follows you inside with her partner summoned, and tries to attack the demon that you’re struggling with. Before she could connect her attack, the dark tentacles retreat to the far side of the room like they are being dragged by a rope, then all the flames inside flow into the dark wall in one smooth motion - and from it appears a creepy looking beast…! You expected something resembling the queen bug that Yukika was being channeled by before, but it’s something completely different. For the way things look, it appears Yukika is also a victim to this group of spirits.

“We been waiting for this moment for months…! If we control you two as well, we have even greater chance of survival in the outside world!” The beast loudly proclaims, as it real form emerges from the back. It's... a lot creepier than what you expected... You don't even know which head to go for!
“T-that’s way worse than before!” Uccelli quickly states the obvious yet again, completely ignoring what the beast just said; this looks a lot more challenging than what you and Amelia defeated. The door behind you two evaporates into thin air. There is no escape, and you have Chewirton in your arms.
“Shit.” You say as the situation keeps getting worse.

You are holding Chewirton, so it would be unwise to get closer to attack… You got it! Let’s throw Philonune’s spear to the monster, it’s almost risk free! Philonune receives the order and throws the light spear, going through the air like an arrow and piercing your target’s head – that's gotta hurt! The part of the creature with the spear on his head starts flailing his arms rapidly, and from the mouth of the creature below, a bunch of flames start fleeing from it, pouring outward like vomit. After the last one escapes, the beast ceases his movement… Wait, that was it?

“Wait, that was it?” You ask aloud as you think it, somewhat relieved but somewhat disappointed at the same time. You had high hopes for it, but this was just a chump.
“Good job, Mr. Ando.” Uccelli is really impressed. Then she kneels down out of exhaustion. “I-I’m okay… This was way worse than a parent meeting.”

The room starts to light up, and the shadows scatter to the ceiling. Where the beast once was, Yukika appears on her bed unconscious with her small flame on her elbow. She probably didn’t even know what happened. The place returns to normal… The injured Chewirton turns and looks up at you and... nods at you...? and escapes your arms, jumping next to her owner. The injured animal seems fine now… but that was weird...

“Johnny… Ando…” An unknown but familiar voice says from behind you. “You once again proved your worth… I knew this was foolish from the get-go. But I didn’t think we would be defeated this easily. Turns out we’re quite pathetic when we least expect it…”

Before you could turn and answer, someone opens the door to the room. Its Constance, and she doesn’t seem to be pleased in the slightest.
“You tried to hurt me… And my friends…” You look around trying to see who she's talking to. Then you spot them. A solitary black flame, all that is left of the beast you one-shot.
“It was our only chance, Constance.” You recognize them from their voice. It’s Nermento-o! That one flame you talked with weeks ago, and who helped you out once! He was the one in control of those phantoms?!
“I kept you all around, because I thought we were friends. But you all lied to me.
“…” Nermento-o remains silent.
“You even tried to hurt my friends.” She slowly removes the bandages from her eye. Her face is legitimately angry, unlike anything you've seen of her. She means business.
“…Yes, it’s my entire fault. I accept that.”
“It doesn’t matter if you want to take the blame or not. It’s time for us to reap this wicked farm.” Athelone invokes herself next to Constance, who slowly approaches the flame. “We will cleanse this place from everyone’s presence.” She grabs a bunch of flames from the ceiling and eats them… Serves them right… Right?

“I thought you were cool, man. What happened?” You ask Nermento-o as Constance and Athelone slowly get near you two.
“We saw another chance to make a comeback, the girl there was weak enough for us to control. That is what happened.”
“Why the change of heart? You seemed happy just floating around…”
“I was just chosen as the leader by my fallen comrades. I was one of the few sane ones – though ultimately not as sane as you would expect, considering the results. But I couldn’t leave them to extinguish into nothingness, like I was… Guess it was bound to happen.” Nermento-o doesn’t seem to regret his decision. He's accepted his fate. “You were stronger, more than I ever could have imagined. I wish I had all my true strength to face you properly, like a fellow warrior.”
“Too bad you’re going to get eaten…” You don’t know why you said that. But you do still feel kinda bad for him. Being eaten alive is something you are NOT into.
“We’re backstabbing, honorless monsters. We eat the thoughts and wills of others, and then are eaten up and used in turn, like flames after kindling. I don’t think we deserve any other way of execution than this.”

And so Athelone grabs the weakened Nermento-o and stares at him.

“So you were really the one responsible, hmm…? I thought the other flames asking for forgiveness were lying.” Athelone smiles. You get chills up your spine as you see it.
“Indeed I was.”
“Then you could be more useful in the future. A pity about your 'friends' though. I was enjoying their begging.” Athelone puts a hand to her mouth and giggles like Constance, as if she didn't just say that. She then summons the magic book she had before, and stores Nermento-o inside, wordlessly.
“W-what was that…? I don’t think you ever explained that to us.” You ask the creepy-looking nurse monster.
“Just think about it as a storage room or… a prison for these fiends. While we’re thankful you somehow got rid of our little problem, it’s time for you two to go. We have to... cleanse this clinic.”
“I hope Dr. Calamity is alright…” Constance adds as she holds her book tightly.
“He’s fine. A little possessing doesn’t hurt anyone.” Athelone replies in a sweet voice.
“Wait, Calamity also got possessed?” Uccelli recovers and asks.
“Yeah, we had to deal with him. It was easy.” Constance smiles. You give her a thumb up for her good work, and her smile gets even brighter.
“Once again, you two should leave unless you enjoy watching me eat.” Athelone says to you and Uccelli. She fixes her gaze on you, and you swear she was looking at you almost longingly...

After saying goodbye to this duo, you leave the room. Outside you see Osgood tying up Twist.
“Hey, mind explaining what the fuck just happened? Mr. Calamity didn’t seem aware of the situation at all when I checked on him. He’s fine by the way.” Osgood summons Dhrtarastra and carries the unconscious Twist.
“That’s great to hear.” Uccelli says, completely exhausted.
“On our way to the school, we need to get rid of that kid.” You say to Osgood.
“It’s getting late and the curfew will start in few hours, you sure about this?”
“I mean, we just have to ditch him there…”
“Then if it’s only that, I’ll ditch him myself. I don’t want to go around the city in circles.”

So after thinking it through, you three decided to part ways. Uccelli is going to her friend’s house, you back home, and Osgood to the school. You’ll text him later about what happened at the clinic. He wants to deal immediately with the problem at hand.

You’re back home after an exhausting day, it’s night, and the curfew will start in an hour… Maybe you should go to sleep early. Don’t want to overwork yourself.

>Let’s go to sleep. New day tomorrow!
>Oh shit, you forgot about Nariko the hobo girl! Better go check!
>Watch the news. Anything could have happened while you were out dealing with Twist.

You change clothes into something comfier and turn on the TV… It’s not like you’re forgetting something in the slightest… Oh no! You forgot something! You completely forgot about Nariko the hobo girl...! You were supposed to feed her every day and maybe all progress you made it’s all gone. No! It’s too early to start acting depressed! The police aren’t on curfew duty yet, so she should be still outside.
You sprint outside in search for the sweet vulnerable Nariko…! I mean, she’s almost as tall as you’re, but it doesn’t matter – She barely can breathe by herself! You need to find her.

Somehow your effort pays off and you find her walking aimlessly just a block or two away from your home.

“Hobo gi— I mean, Nariko…!” You try to catch her attention!
“…Uh. Johnny?” She turns around. “Hi…” She smiles.
“Sorry! I was busy but at least I find you.” You catch your breath.
“Johnny… I thought you disappeared.” She seems joyful. “I’m happy to see you…!” She says like she’s struggling to piece the sentence in her mind.
“Are you okay…?”
“Yes, I am. I need to leave. Food can wait; I don’t want the blue men to drag me to that place again… I like this other one better…” She’s trying her best to deliver her thoughts to you.

She probably waited for you until it started to get dark. You feel bad for her…

>”Don’t be an idiot, I’ll cook you something at my apartment.” Invite her over for the night.
>”Tomorrow morning! I’ll be waiting for you with my best dish ever!” Invite her tomorrow.

“Don’t be an idiot, I’ll you cook something at my apartment.” You need to start learning new recipes if you want to keep her attention.
“B-but I don’t want the men to—” She seems conflicted; you interrupt her before she finishes.
“You can stay over at my place for the night. You liked my couch, right? Besides, I think you need to be reintroduced to the concept of bathing…” She seems embarrassed by your comment. After a minute thinking, she finally responds.
“A-a-alright…” You apparently convinced her…! You really can’t tell with this girl, but she’s following you.

You arrive at your apartment, you open the door and Amelia is in here…

“Hey Johnny! Why didn’t you tell me you were going to school..?” Her smile abruptly ends when she sees the hobo. “Jo-Johnny, why is the hobo girl here…?” Amelia is uncomfortable, can you blame her?
“When did you get here…?” An important question to make.
“Remember I’m staying until you feel okay… And I went to buy food for dinner...” Amelia points to the kitchen where you can see the groceries.
“Food…!” Hobo girl exclaims in joy.
“She smells awful.” A disgusted Amelia says as she covers her nose. The stinky hobo hides behind you, Amelia doesn’t seem pleased by her behavior.
“Didn’t you feel sorry for her before…? Hypocrite.” You judge your sister.
“I-I’m not a hypocrite…! I did feel bad for her, I do now too.” You trick your sister into guiltiness.
“By the way, you didn’t read my messages from before…?” You distract your sister from the issue at hand.

“My phone’s battery died, I had to buy a new one. Don’t tell me you got into trouble…?” Amelia looks even more worried.
“Yeah, something like that. I’ll explain later, but everything is fine.” You confidently smirk.
“Jo-Johnny… What about the food…?” You can hear in her voice Nariko feels bad for interrupting your conversation. Well time to take care of your hobo, I guess.

(I know it's a tie, but I had this one written first so fug it.)

“Don’t worry, Nariko. I’m going to start preparing dinner in a bit. But first, would you do us one favor and take a shower?” You try to say it the less condescending way you’re able to. It doesn’t matter how you say it, it’s not going to sound nice.
“Al-alright.” She nods slowly like trying to convince herself of the fact. Amelia looks at the hobo somewhat concerned and says.
“You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.” Is that kindness? From Amelia to a hobo? What a miracle. “But I would be so happy if you did, you really stink!” Well that’s over.
“Yeah… I’ll try. Johnny treats me nicely, I need to treat him nicely too. The nice lady at the good place told me so.”
“We just want the smell gone, that’s all.” Amelia tries to convey to Nariko the idea of taking a shower isn’t really a favor to us.

You hand Nariko one outfit Uccelli gave her, a towel and you show her the way to the bathroom, as soon as you close the door – Amelia can’t contain herself and says:

“She’s going to make a mess, isn’t she?” It’s your bathroom; you’re going to take care of it later.
“yEP.” Philonune responds instead of you. You pretend you said it yourself for no reason.

You two went to prepare dinner, you want to make something nice for the ladies. During this riveting cooking process, you told Amelia everything that transpired today. What a long day, it felt like it took weeks to finish, but you’re just hours away for it to end. Dinner is ready, but no sight of Nariko…

“Should I check inside…?” Amelia points to the bathroom unsure of what to do.

>“Yes. Check on her.” Hopefully she isn’t eating the soup...
>“Amelia, believe in Nariko.” She’s not stupid, just slow.

“Go ahead, check on her.” You tell Amelia, she gets up and with caution she gets closer to the door. She slightly opens it and the worried look on her face completely vanishes and goes blank.
“Nariko, food is ready…” Amelia tells the hobo girl in a monotone voice. You hear her walking towards Amelia, she peeks outside and sees you.
“Food…?” She looks almost completely different but her weird demeanor remains the same destroying your small illusion.
“M-my hairbrush…” Amelia takes the brush Nariko was holding in her hand. It's all full of hair and looks disgusting. “You can keep it…” She gives it back to the hobo girl.

After the bathroom incident you three start eating dinner together, Amelia is surprised by the fact Nariko eats that elegantly for a hobo. Nariko seems to greatly enjoy your dinner, as she feels all of this was worth it only for this moment.

“Thanks, Johnny.” The cheerful Nariko sounds more grounded in reality than ever before, no weird mannerisms or strange answers.
“Don’t you mean: Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks?” You quip.
“Do you like when I said it that way?” Nariko wonders as she keeps staring at you.
“Are you feeling okay?” Amelia wonders.
“I’m… I think… I don’t know.” Nariko holds her head like she did multiple times, except without the hat this time.
“Do you want to talk about something or are you feeling tired? Because I’m.” You tell your guest. She turns at you with the same struggled face from last time.
“I-I…”
“Calm down. You’re not in danger. If you don’t want to think about it, You don’t need to say anything.” You stand up and take everyone’s plates to the sink.
“Don’t push yourself!” Amelia reiterates your point.
“No… I have to say it… I… I…” Nariko is struggling yet again; maybe she’s finally going to tell you what is going on with her.
