After hiring your two new party members: Ulric the swordsman and Salaman the Summoner, you proceed to the Hunter's Lodge. Inside your greeted by a receptionist.
"Hey there! Is this your first time to a Hunter's Lodge? Let me tell you how things work here. We've have several stations in Aflor just like this one where we post bounties on nearby monsters. We divide assignments into ranks based on how difficult we think the bounties will be. Take a look at these rank I assignments and tell me if you're interested in any of them."

Woops. I somehow missed this going up. Sorry about that OP...

"If they are all Rank 1, why are the rewards higher for some rather than others?"

Is an Orc 12 times tougher than a skeleton?

>Skeleton
Let's start out small by taking out a couple skellies.

>>1996817
I think it is one mission to kill two Skeletons and one mission to kill 6 Goblins.
We might be able to handle 6 Goblins, if they are weak.
But the number will work for them.
>>
>>1996912

> I think it is one mission to kill two Skeletons and one mission to kill 6 Goblins.

Yeah okay. That makes more sense...

...

> Is an Orc 12 times tougher than a skeleton?

I imagine that would be the case...

...

I'm backing skeleton slaying as well. We already have the perfect equipment for it. We should consider taking a second hunt if possible (I'm still voting for gobbos), since the skeleton hunt does not pay well...

I agree totally, assuming goblin filth are generally weaker than humans, and our cozy little party, and how could they not be?

"If they are all Rank 1, why are the rewards higher for some rather than others? Is an Orc 12 times tougher than a skeleton?"

"Each assignment has its own value based on how difficult the hunter's lodge thinks it is to accomplish and how urgently the monsters need to be removed, that Orc used to be worth 100 Talons but multiple hunters have tried and failed to remove him including a party of three men, if the bounty lasts longer he might be promoted to a rank 2. The skeletons have a low bounty because we expect them to stand around forever and only attack people who come near them, they aren't a serious threat to settlements like Appleby."

>"I'm interested in the Goblin and Skeleton assignment"

"Ah very good. A party of goblins have constructed a little fort in the woods and are now acting as highwaymen, attacking travelers on the road to Oakheart.
They've got bronze weapons and bows and they work together. They're still just Goblins though.
The skeletons seemed to be protectors of an old evil wizard hideout. The hideout is abandoned but the skeletons are still guarding it. The skeletons have iron melee weapons.
Here's a map showing the location of each target.
By the way through that door is a lounge, the other hunters usually meet up there at night to form hunting parties or discuss the bounties."

We should learn about the Orc, but let's not take him on just yet.

Also, I say we crush that helmeted goblin as a cathartic vengeance for that helmeted bandit leader that handed us our asses.

"A few weeks ago we scouted this orc, he seems to have come from the Orc clan north of Leefside. He often raids farms or caravans for food. The hunter that have encountered him state he is a skilled fighter with a wide array of weapons including ranged weapons. His lair has a few basic traps. He is now considered the most dangerous rank I assignment."

Timezones are magical things anon...
>>
>>1997128
Originally I wanted to start and end the quest earlier but ended my schedule ended up gravitating to this time slot.
Now that I check it after all this time I see it's 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM in the states which I guess is much less than Ideal.
Although now that you've pointed it out I should probably focus on getting up early on Sundays so I can start the quest at 8:00 AM/9:00 AM for a 5:00 PM/ 6:00 PM start in West Coast USA.

Fun Fact: I'm in the East Coast US and I prefer this time slot, for I do not sleep.
But rock on Dolomite, and I'll try to catch you whenever you run.

>"We're going to find the Wish Granter"

Salaman: "Oh? Well when we find it I better get one of the wishes"

Ulric: "That's okay we'll just wish for more wishes, that way there'll be enough for everyone"

You leave town and find Alina waiting.

Alina: "Hey Christof! Who are these guys?"
Salaman: "You may call me Salaman."
Ulric: "I'm Ulric who are you?"

>"I hired these people at the tavern, they're going to help us on our quest. Guys, this is my companion Alina. With the four of us our adventuring party is complete!"

Ulric: "So can we go fight skeletons now?"

Following the map the Hunters Lodge gave you, you spot the skeletons a short distance away, standing around as described.
If you start casting spells at this distance the skeletons will probably interpret it as a possible threat and abandon their posts to attack you.

Salaman: "There they are, do you want me to summon something before we fight?"

>"Nah, let's just engage them"
>"Yeah, summon whatever you want"
>"Summon as many Dragons as you can!"

>"Summon as many Dragons as you can!"
"Heh, just kidding."

>"Nah, let's just engage them"
"You are free to cast as you like, but I'd recommend saving a summon for a larger challenge. Unless you have plenty to spare, in which case, yeah, summon whatever you want."

As the Abjuration specialist, shouldn't we cast the protection?
Or am I forgetting something?

>"Summon as many Dragons as you can!"

Salaman: "That amount would be equal to the number of Globes of Invulnerability you can summon"

>"Heh, just kidding. Nah. Let's just engage them. You are free to cast as you like, but I'd recommend saving a summon for a larger challenge. Unless you have plenty to spare, in which case, yeah, summon whatever you want."

You and Ulric draw your weapons and prepare to fight, the bones move in to engage.

Why are we worried about Alina again?
Okay, that might have been embarrassing, but Ulric took nearly 30 times the amount of damage, and we took half that.

Anyway, great effort everyone!

Loot and level indeed!

We should probably poke around that hideout and make sure it looks picked over before moving on.

I'm going to end the session there lads. Unfortunately I can't run next week but Seeker Quest will continue the week after. I'll probably take that Anon's advice and start running a few hours earlier. I'll do the level up at the start of next thread but here's the feat options available to Christof.
