You awoke to the sound of your cell phone going off. You spent the night back at your parents’ house. They gladly let you crash in the spare room (which as they said will probably be set aside for you later). But that wasn’t important now. What was important was who was calling. Griselda. You pick it up. “Hello?”

“Ellie, it’s Gris.”

“Hey, Griselda. What’s up?”

“I’m going to need your help here today. I need to figure out some way to kind of… occupy the team while the judges are working on our tanks. And while I am incredibly good at the whole command and control thing, delaying actions are not exactly my forte.”

“Um…” You sigh, rubbing your forehead. “I do kind of have to go to work, Griselda.”

“Please? I won’t ask you for anything else. I’ll talk to Captain Spruance. I just need your help for today! And then I’ll get you anything you want! Ice cream, lobsters… boys?”

“Hey.”

“Sorry.”

Elodie makes a great distraction, it's true.

Maybe there are ways we can train without the tanks in the meantime?

Besides, we've got a lot of CP for now, I think we can work on some fundamentals and quests while we can.

You sigh. “Fine, I’m coming.”

“Thank you so much! I’ll see you here in the hangar in a bit!” With that, she hangs up. Ugh. Well, you suppose Griselda has been quite busy the past week or so dealing with the whole ‘accused of cheating and now your tanks are in pieces’ thing. You sit up in your bed and grab a fresh uniform. Time to go to work you suppose. You dial up Denise.

-

-

Denise drops you off in front of the hangar. There, Griselda is in front of the hangar looking at the oh sweet baby Jesus your tanks! You forgot how badly they were disassembled! And they’re still disassembled! How is this possible!? You step off and hurry on over to Griselda, who is busy gathering up some rope. “What are you doing?”

“Getting rope so I can hang myself,” she says. You roll your eyes. “Joking. I was just moving some stuff out of the hangar to help them move around a bit. But we need to figure something out to kind of distract everyone from…” She motions to all the disassembled tanks inside of the hangar. “All this.”

“You know, you could just tell them.”

Griselda waves you off. “I could, but I’d rather not panic everyone ahead of our match with Zhou Enlai! Right now, I need a way to occupy the team in the meantime. Something like a… team building exercise.”

“Did you ask Miss McPherson or Stack’s sisters?” you ask.

“I tried. Miss McPherson won’t come out of her house, and Stack’s sisters… I actually haven’t seen them this morning. They texted me saying they were busy buying a dress for Stack.” She holds up her phone to you. Stack is there along with all of her sisters dressed in the most frilliest, poofy, brightest blue thing you’ve seen in a while. She doesn’t look happy at all. “Apparently they’re planning on a family reunion for Thanksgiving and they wanted Stack to look presentable.”

“She looks like she’s suffering.”

Griselda snorts. “I have enough problems with Gertrude. I can’t imagine having three of her.” She shoves her phone back into her pocket. “Now, what should we do, Ellie?”

“Classroom lectures on tanks are always nice,” you say. “We could set up a refresher course on Zhou Enlai’s lineup perhaps. And go into detail about their strengths and weaknesses. We can at least prepare ourselves for the upcoming match.”

“Hm.” Griselda nods, silently agreeing. “Alright then. We can get a powerpoint up really quickly then in the lecture room. I’ll send out a mass text telling everyone we’re doing a classroom lecture but-“ She holds up a finger. “I will say, they may not like it.”

“Why not?” you ask.

“Because school is on right now,” she says. “Technically I should be in class, but I was excused for the day on account of club activities. I’m surprised my sister didn’t take more advantage of that to be honest considering she was head of the Tankery team and the class president.”

“Of course.”

“Anyway.” She shrugs. “We’ll try and survive. Since this is your idea though, did you want to lecture them?”

“Sure, why not? I can probably have Iris help too. She hasn’t done a lot of Officer-style things in a while.”

Griselda nods. “Good thinking.” She pats your arm. “I’ll call her up to get here soon as school ends. But you prepare yourself. The girls can be quite tricky to handle.”

“I’ve had to lead them too, Gris. I know what I’m doing.” She smiles at your response, then heads inside the hangar. You walk with her. “So what do I do now then?”

“I’m going to prepare the presentation,” she says. “You, Ellie. Go ahead and relax for a bit. Get your head on straight. Try not to stress out about having to address everyone. You will have Iris to help you out after all.” Right, right. “And one more thing. It’s a tiny thing. But um…” She looks at your uniform, then at you. “You ever consider wearing anything besides this?”

“I’m an Officer, so no,” you state.

“Fair.” She folds her arms, sighing. “Right. Just stay here. I’ll be back with the presentation in a bit and we can rehearse it, alright?” You nod. With that, Griselda steps away to her office. That just leaves you in the hangar with all the judges checking over your tanks.

Judge Joyce and Judge West are happy to fill you in on what’s going. “We’ve already cleared most of the tanks. We’re still waiting on results for the King Tiger and the Panther. Once that’s all done, you’ll be clear to go.”

“And if hypothetically one of our tanks is bogus?” you ask.

“Then we have to disqualify you,” says Judge Joyce. “But for the most part your tanks all look fine. I just wonder why the Commissioner called this investigation anyway. I imagine it can’t be because she doesn’t believe LGA managed to defy expectations.”

“Expectations?” you ask.

Judge West nods. “LGA was projected to finish in the cellar if you recall. You only had about five tanks to your name facing off against more experienced and more numerous opponents. And yet now you’re first in the division and facing prospects for the postseason. Then again, this season has been pretty wild in terms of the other teams as well. Zhou Enlai, Kursk, even Camp Gagetown.”

“The point is, LGA has done a lot to subvert people’s expectations,” says Judge Joyce. “I personally don’t agree with the idea of having to go through your tanks. Because at the end of the day, we’re going to have to reassemble them and unfortunately, there’s no telling if we can reassemble them in time for the match with Zhou Enlai.”

“What?” You squint at them. “Then why even do it?”

“The procedure is supposed to be done before the season,” says Judge Joyce. “It’s just a matter of course anyway. We can’t be seen as ignoring potential cheaters.” She places her hands on her hips, a little grim. “Anyway, Elodie. Don’t worry about a thing. We’ll try and get this done as quickly as possible.”

Judge West says, “And I’m sure you’ll do fine against Zhou Enlai. Even if we were to come up a few tanks short.”

“Thanks for the confidence, Judges. I’m sure you’ll get it done as quick as possible.”

“Thanks.” They both salute you. And to that, you decide to take your leave.

You suppose now would be a good time to see where Griselda is on her presentation. So you head into her office. You knock on her door quickly, and when you hear a faint “Come in!”, you step on in.

You find Griselda at her computer typing something up. “Come to check on the presentation?” You nod. “Neat. You know, Ellie. I never got a taste for your public speaking skills.”

“Well, it’s not something you can just avoid. You just have to be confident. That’s easy enough,” you explain. Though, back in Middle School, it was really hard to avoid the fact that the girls were all jealous of your breasts growing in before theirs and all the boys wanting to touch your breasts. Ugh. Terrible times. “Though, I try not to make a habit of drawing attention to myself.”

“I see.” Griselda smiles at you. “Alright then. How about we practice then?”

“Practice?”

Griselda slouches back in her chair. “Public speak at me.”

“Is something bothering you?” you ask.

Griselda continues slouching back in her chair, then looks down at her hands. “… I’m not confident we’ll have all of our tanks ready by the match.” Right. She sighs heavily. “I’m not confident we’ll even have any tanks ready at all.”

“Well, if it comes to it, we can spend all night working on getting them back together,” you say. “Though, that’ll leave us completely drained for the fight. I reckon though we can do it.” Griselda smirks a bit. “You’re still not confident though, are you?”

“No.” Griselda shakes her head. “Not at all. I can’t believe this shit happens to us of all people. I should never have…” She almost said never have hired Oleg. But even she realizes how much he means to this team. “We’re in a tough spot, Ellie. If we lose this weekend, that’ll crush the team. Not to mention that-… Ellie. Can I tell you something?”

“What is it?” you ask.

“People are thinking of leaving,” she says. Leaving? “I got a text from… I can’t tell you who. I said I’d be quiet about it. But I’ve been told that a few of the teams have stated that Tankery was great for the summer but they’re having trouble justifying staying aboard when they have their studies to do. They want to check out other clubs and all that. I have to beg and plead for them to stay, and that’s working I will admit but-…”

“If we lose or tie the series. We might lose people,” you say.

Griselda nods. “Yeah.”

Griselda shrugs. “They’re free to do what they want to do with themselves. But you are right. People leaving a team is a domino effect. If one goes, the rest follow suit. I won’t lie to you, this really makes me nervous.” She stands up. “That’s why we need to get every advantage we can get over Zhou Enlai, Ellie.” She beckons you closer. “That’s why I need to enlist you for a special mission.”

You cock your head. She what. “A what?”

“Stack has already volunteered to go undercover and spy on Zhou Enlai and figure out their plans,” she says. “I need you to go with her so she doesn’t muck it up.”

“Why me?” you ask.

“Because I can actually trust you to do it. Stack’s eager but she er… she’s a little too eager.” Griselda folds her arms. “Now, I’d do it myself but I’m not exactly subtle either. Plus, if they catch me well, suffice to say who knows what they’re going to do with me.”

“I don’t know, Griselda. Spying isn’t exactly my thing,” you explain. “I’m no James Bond.”

“All I need is what they’re planning to do. You don’t need to stay long or anything,” she says. “Stack intends to leave tonight, and hopefully she’ll be back before nightfall tomorrow. Think you can help her?”

Spying is considered Scouting and is not cheating. Its not regarded well, but it is legal
>>
>>1995744
Spying is legal. Yukari did it in the anime, Twice.

The big question is what happens when you get caught. It's not like they just let you go, if there were no consequences then everyone would do it (they might).

Extended interrogation sequence? Shoved on a dinghy with a single bullet for the pistol? Maybe they'll just break our minds.

“Well. First off, Mei knows me, quite well in fact. And I’m also one of the more famous commanders in the league. There’s no way they won’t recognize, Gris. If only by my…” You motion to yourself. “Plus, isn’t this cheating?”

“Spying isn’t cheating. The only bad thing is if you get caught,” says Griselda. “Though, I can understand your reluctance. You don’t have to if you don’t want to, that’s fine.” She snaps her finger. “Tell you what. Talk to Stack later tonight after practice. Okay?”

“I will. I mean, I’d love to- but, there’s-…” You motion to yourself again. “Kind of a prominent person here.”

“Ah, nothing some makeup and a lot of straps won’t fix.” Wait. Straps? “Anyway, Ellie. I’m starving. Let’s get some lunch.” You nod, walking with Griselda. “I already have the presentation mostly done so we should be all set. And I called Iris too, she’s fine with it as well.”

“Alright. But what about the rest of the crew? Are we just going to have the lecture here? Where they can clearly see their tanks are in pieces?”

“I mean, it’s a little too short notice to rent a classroom so unfortunately yes. But I will explain it all to them. Just er…” She pauses a bit, hesitant.

“Don’t lie to them.”

“I won’t! I just- I’m trying to figure out how to spin it,” says Griselda. She rubs her nose, groaning. “Ugh… So much to deal with.” Her eyes widen a bit, then she looks to you. “You know, Ellie. I never did think to ask. What is up with you and Mei anyway?”

“Eh?” You look to her.

“You two seem to have a history, even though it’s kind of…” She shrugs, confused a bit. “You only just met like maybe a month or two ago?”

Interesting idea except we don't know where they store their tanks. But it'll probably be under cover.

“It has to do with Arisu Shimada,” you say. She tilts her head, intrigued. “I started learning under Arisu quite a while ago. However, this apparently offended Mei who also used to learn under the Shimada household. The two of us have some pretty different ways on how Tankery should be played. So obviously the two of us aren’t exactly on good terms.”

“Wait.” Griselda holds her hand up, staring at you. “You’re learning under Arisu Shimada, the heir to the Shimada household, one of the premier Tankers, and also one of Japan’s child prodigies.”

“… yes.”

Griselda blinks. “You know. You don’t ever lie to me about anything, Ellie. So I’m just going to go ahead and believe you.”

“You don’t believe me do you.”

“Not one bit,” she states bluntly. “But, I guess that does give a good reason as to why Mei hates your guts. Truth be told, that business of just hiring foreign help and showering them with money and good tanks is pretty iffy to me. At the very least, a home grown team has far more staying power than just a team that you buy.”

“Well it’s worked for Mei so far,” you say.

“It’ll only work for the few years that she has them. She can’t just blow money on mercenary free agents forever,” says Griselda. “Not unless she suddenly becomes a coach there too.”

Griselda looks to you, confused by that, but she simply shrugs. “I suppose you can’t hate your opponent, just their methods.”

“Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like it. I prefer a homebuilt team like we do,” you explain. “A team that builds itself out of its home school can build a legacy, a dream for those who come here. Building a team almost entirely out of people that you poach from other schools gives you nothing except the victory.”

Griselda says, “To most people, winning is the only thing that matters.”

“I suppose.”

Griselda seems to notice your somewhat sullen expression. “Hey, tell you what. Let’s go get some crab or something.” Crab? You perk up a bit, some drool starting to form in your mouth. Ohohoho, crab… “I know a good place where we can get some.”

Your lunch with Griselda was a blast. So much all you can eat seafood, so much to eat. It was enough to make your belly bulge. You pat your tummy as you go through the presentation with Griselda. “Now, Zhou Enlai’s force is a very generalist roster. Mostly Centurion tanks with very little deviation. Now, it’s my understanding that Zhou Enlai’s roster of girls is also relatively experienced. No weaknesses to exploit in terms of personnel, no cheap tricks we can do to rile them up, nothing. They’re a very stalwart bunch.”

You nod. “So what do you propose?” you ask.

“Right now, I have nothing to propose. This is just to inform and enlighten,” she says. Griselda taps the pointer in her hand, nodding slowly. “Though I have to admit, Elodie. It’s a very terrifying roster. I’m not sure if we should be particularly honest with their capabilities.”

“What, like downplay them so we still have some confidence?” you ask.

“Yes,” says Griselda. “What do you think?”

“Let’s just let the crews form their own conclusions,” you say. “They’re smart. And we’re not going to lie to them about their chances.”

Griselda nods at that. “Well, I suppose that’s true. Alright. Try to be as blunt as possible then about our chances. But don’t discourage them, okay? We have to find little bits of good in the bad too after all.” Fair enough. “Right then. We don’t have the battle map yet. But we should know their roster.” Griselda closes the presentation then takes out the USB from her computer. She hands the drive to you gingerly. “Now, I’m counting on you, Ellie. Don’t let me down.”

“When have I ever?” you ask.

“Ah, good point.” She snorts, snickering a little. “Okay. The girls should be here in like thirty minutes. Let’s get the lecture hall prepped for them.” Right. You and Griselda hurry to the lecture hall.

-

-

All the girls step into the lecture hall, looking worn out and tired. They gossip and chat about their teachers and the homework they’ve been assigned, the projects they have to do, the group projects they have to suffer with, and all that school makes them do. They take seats down, clearly inattentive and not too excited about the briefing. You stand at the front, ready and willing.

Iris steps up, looking as spry as ever. “Whenever you’re ready, Elodie.” You look around. You see Stack, Josephina, and Winona in the crowd too. Your retinue standing in the back. All the Commanders of each team sits upfront too.

Right. “Okay, everyone!” you call out. “This meeting will come to order. Any questions before we begin?”

Serina raises her head. “How long is this going to take? My English teacher just assigned us a reading project on the Great Gatsby.”

“Ugh, you have to read that fucking thing too!?” yells Patton.

“I know, right!” Serafina mopes about it. “It’s such a horrible book!”

“I feel like I’m missing out,” says Jane Fogerty. “We’re reading Kite Runner.”

“What’s Kite Runner about?” asks Serina.

You clear your throat. Getting their attention. “Right. Um. Let’s begin.”

> Zhou Enlai

> Utilizes a wide variety of tactics thanks to its diverse roster of Ace tankers. Are masters of almost all forms of combat but are not perfect in any of them.

> TRAITS:
> Dishonorable ++ - They have no qualms with facing you in unfair fights, and will endeavor to seek out fights that benefit them at your expense.
> ++ In the case of Zhou Enlai, they will never seek out fights unless it is one on one or they possess superior numbers. If they are forced to fight however, they will.
> Disciplined – They are a stalwart bunch, and are able to take the shock of losing an Officer or a large number of their comrades in a single time very well.
> Adaptive – Any tactics you use on them in the first match will likely either be used against you in the next or be discovered and countered effectively.
> Brawling Masters – As students of the Shimada teachings from Mei Xiang, most of these Ace tankers are bolstered with the knowledge of how to engage in close combat.

“Now, Zhou Enlai does possess a large roster of Centurions, which will be their main line battle tanks. We don’t expect to face either their Easy Eights or their T-34s unless they’re really serious about throwing the match against us.” The girls giggle a little at that. No, Mei isn’t likely to throw them in, they’ll be liabilities in comparison to the much more capable Centurion tank. “And their Ace tankers whom they have collected over the years also now comprise the bulk of their crew rosters. In short, Mei has assembled quite the team with money and a lot of patience.”

Serafina raises a hand. “Question.” You nod to her. “Can’t we just bribe these people to not fight seeing as how Mei did the same thing?”

“We don’t have that kind of money,” you state. Everyone shrugs, agreeing to that sentiment. “Besides, they might be paid, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to slack off. These are skilled tankers each and every one of them. The only reason we managed to catch most of them in the All-Star Game was because Mei got cocky, and we were surrounded by talent.”

“What does that make us?” asks Giap.

“It means we’re amateurs,” Hadley.

“Amateurs!?” Regina pumps her fist. “Why- those weaklings! If they’re drowning, I’ll let them! … okay, I’d still rescue them but I’ll give them mouth to mouth after some serious munching on a taco or something!”

[2/2]

“No one’s implying we’re amateurs,” you say. “Fact of the matter is, their team is stacked, they’ll likely outnumber us, and they also possess better tanks than most of us as well. The Centurion I after all is basically the forerunner to almost all main battle tanks today. It has good armor, it has good speed, and it can penetrate almost everything we have. Mei has gone to great lengths to build the team up and she has not spared any expense.”

Serina says, “Yeah, we know that for sure. But how are we supposed to beat that? And answer me this, Ellie. Why are our tanks even in pieces in the first place anyway?”

“Yeah, I just noticed that,” says Duchess. “Don’t tell me the governments gone and repossessing our tanks!”

“GOVERNMENT!?” The other Survivalists start perking up, immediately realizing that the government might be after their nice things.

“We’re being judged as to whether we’re cheating or not.” The entire lecture hall explodes as everyone decides to shout that they aren’t at the exact same time.

“That’s horseshit!”

“We didn’t cheat!”

“How could we even cheat anyway!?”

“This is about Oleg isn’t it!?”

“How does somebody cheat in Tankery anyway!?”

“Kissing another girl while having a boyfriend doesn’t count as cheating does it!?”

“This is bullshit! We have to talk to the Commissioner!”

“Guys, guys, settle down!” you say. “Settle down!” Everyone is now all riled up and steaming mad. They go back to sitting down. “Yes, we’re aware that it’s kind of nonsense. But we have to go through it all the same. I’ve talked with the Judges. They haven’t noted anything out of place.”

“But the tanks are still in pieces,” says Serina. “How long is it going to take?”

“We’re not going to have to put them back together again, are we?” asks Benny. “We don’t have that kind of manpower or time!”

“Now look, I know it looks bad,” you say, trying to calm everyone down. “But we’re going to have to deal with it as it comes. Hopefully by tomorrow, things will be sorted out, and the tanks will all be back together. Okay?” Everyone is quiet, still murmuring and chatting about the tanks. “Now. Let’s go back to the lecture at hand. Now, we don’t have a set plan in place for Zhou Enlai. But we are still going to beat them.”

“How?” asks Regina.

The girls have got us this far. I believe in them.
>>
> “That’s for us to decide.”

“That’s for us to decide,” you say. “We all have our jobs to do and I have faith in every single one of you. That being said, we’ll have to come up with a lot of sneaky tricks and a lot of maneuvers to come out on top. Zhou Enlai is likely going to be our toughest fight yet, and our first taste of what the post season is going to be like. You all have to understand that with the tournament now coming to a close, all that matters now is staying alive and keeping the dream of being world champs in our grasp.” Everyone is attentive, knowing the implications of such a thing. World champions while only being teenagers? Ludicrous, but doable. “But our enemy knows the same thing as well. And they’ll come out of the gate with the force of a typhoon. So no more stupid mistakes. Alright?” Everyone is quiet. “Good.” You motion to Iris. “Iris, I’ll let you explain how we’ll organize things.”

You step to the side and allow Iris to take over the podium. “As usual, we will have three groups. One led by myself, one led by Elodie, and one led by Griselda. We won’t deviate much from our usual tactics seeing as how they almost always work. I expect all of you to be a disciplined bunch, a far cry from the rabble we used to be.”

You stand by Griselda, listening in on Iris’ chat. Griselda nudges you. “Good job out there.”

“Thanks,” you say.

Griselda looks to you. “Listen, Ellie. You’re right. ZES is gonna come at us with all they’ve got if it means they can sneak any win off of us.” She has a concerned expression on her face. “Gonna be a tough fight.”

“We’re made for tough fights,” you say. “Have some faith in the girls, Griselda.”

Griselda nods, smiling a little at that. “I’ll try.” She nudges you, giving you an approving look. You nod back to her.

“Now, in terms of fighting the Centurion tank.” Iris takes out a few notecards, looking to everyone. “I want to make sure we’re never in a position where we’re outnumbered. We have to pick these people apart piecemeal.”

With the lecture over, everyone immediately began leaving the Hangar. “I have so much homework!” Jane laments. “This is going to suck!”

“Well at least it’s only worksheets and reading by the textbook,” says Serina.

“I can’t believe they’re piling on so much work at the start of the year!” Everyone continuously whines and laments about the work given to them at the start of the school year. This is how Academyships like to weed out the chaff. It isn’t just the Naval Studies students who have to deal with a freshman class that starts out big but ends up smaller by the end of the year. General Studies kids are often filled with rich kids who have delusions about graduating from an Academyship relatively easy because they won’t have parents or rules.

What they don’t realize is that Academyships for the most part function like colleges. And colleges do not take bullshit from anybody except their tenured staff.

Regardless, you yawn. For Naval Studies students, your work involved online courses. And those could be done at your own free will. Just as long as they were done before the quarter ends. You’ll have time once this Tankery stuff is done and settled. For now you should…

You find Stack at the Hangar door packing stuff into a duffle bag. Winona, Josephina, and Ingrid all stand around her curiously. “Alright, Stack. What’s your plan?” you ask.

Stack grins, turning around to you. “I am going to pose as a transfer student coming into Zhou Enlai!” She presents a wallet to you with a fake student ID. “I even had a fake student ID printed for myself!” She drops a section of the wallet to show a student ID for you too. “Even got one for you too. Griselda said I had to.”

You roll your eyes. “Where’d you get this idea?”

“Friend of mine named Yukari,” says Stack. “Every Loader in Tankery knows each other. It’s the Sisterhood!” She taps her bicep, grinning proudly. “But other than that, I declare that I am going to be a regular James Bond and do me some spying on the Chinese and find out their plans. And if we’re really lucky, maybe find out why they sent these judges on us.”

“You think Zhou Enlai brought the judges here?” asks Winona. “Why?”

“Doesn’t strike you as odd that they came right before the match?” asks Stack. “I bet you they was trying to stop us, or if not that then at least get an edge.”

“That’s a stretch,” Ingrid mutters.

“Regardless, I am going!” Stack points to you. “Ellie. You in or not?”

“I’m concerned about being recognized Stack. My face has been seen by a lot of tankers. I’d need to be less recognizable or at least have people look at me less.” You’d probably need a wig, contact lenses, maybe some makeup too. Not to mention having to cut your hair or maybe put on some pounds too. There’s a lot of work to be done.

“I know, I know,” says Stack. “That’s why I brought this!” Stack holds up…

A roll of wrappings? “What’s that for?” you ask.

Stacks says, “Your boobs.” … “I’m going to tape up your boobs so you’ll look flatter.”

Winona gasps, hugging you from behind. “You can’t do that! Making Elodie less recognizable is one thing, but making her completely-“ You glare at her. “… hehe.” She lets go, grinning nervously.

Stack sighs. “Don’t worry, I got other plans too!” She points to your hair. “I’m gonna do your hair in a ponytail. I’m gonna remove the hat. I’m gonna remove the glasses too. You wear contacts?”

“Contacts? No.”

“Why not?” asks Josephina.

Don’t say it’s because you really don’t want to stick things in your eyes. “Couldn’t afford them.”

Stack says, “Good! That’s another positive!” She grabs your hand. “Come on! Let’s go!”

You grit your teeth. “Wait, Stack!”

“No time for caution, y’all! When I’m back, she’ll be completely unrecognizable!”

-

-

You step out of the locker room, wearing one of the Zhou Enlai uniforms, a stark red blazer with a white blouse, a black tie, and a black miniskirt. Your pantyhose was replaced with plain black knee highs. Your hair was done up in a neat ponytail. Your glasses were removed and replaced with a more distinct pink hair clip pulling your bangs back. And most of all…

You can’t fucking breath, this wrap around your tits. Jesus Christ.

Stack grins, presenting you all to everybody. “What do you think?”

“Wow, I barely recognize her!”

“Yeah!” says Ingrid. “In fact, I’d say Ellie looks much more attractive with the ponytail.” You glare at her. “… what. It’s true.” Ingrid twiddles her fingers, smirking.

Josephina says, “Ooh, those platform shoes are genius too!” They add like an inch to your height and they’re impossible to walk in. “So they can’t get Ellie’s height as well! C’est magnifique!”

Stack smirks. “I got a lot of advice from my sisters!”

“By the way, your sisters did dress you-“

“Don’t start,” Stack says quickly. “So what do you think?”

You sigh, rubbing your nose a little. “I guess we can make this work, Stack.” Stack pumps her fist, then hugs you real tight. Choking. Choking! AAAHHH! She lets you go, smiling happily. “So, do you have an actual entrance plan?”

Stack says, “ZES supply ships are about to cross paths with our ships. I made an arrangement with a few friends of mine in logistics.” She snaps her fingers. “We’ll hitch a ride on one, then we’ll catch their briefing, then we’ll hop on the next ship out of there.”

“Do you have an actual escape plan?” you ask.

“I just told-“ She realizes what you just said. “Ooooh, I see. A plan B. Well. Can’t you just call your boyfriend and tell him to give you a ride?”

“First off! HE’S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!” You stomp your foot. All the girls giggle at you. AUGH! “Secondly, I’m not sure I can just call him and he’ll be around with the fucking Spruce Goose to take us away!”

“Fine, fine! Calm down, sorry I got your dander up!” Stack snickers. “Come on. Let’s get you a warrior’s dinner before we leave.”

Winona waves her handkerchief at you as you leave. “Godspeed you brave girls!” Ingrid and Josephina all laugh at that as you and Stack leave out into the night.

“Come on, Ellie!” Stack gently shoves you. “It’ll be fun! Trust me! We’ll learn a lot too, help the team! And I bet Jeep Jockey's really gonna love you in a ponytail.”

“I just hope you know what you’re doing, Stack.” You gently rub at your ponytail. Hmph. You don’t think Jeep Jockey likes your hair up in a ponytail. Does he? Hm. “Anyway. We’re taking a pretty big risk here. It’s one thing to spy, but if we get caught…”

“Don’t worry.” Stack punches you in the arm, making you flinch. “We can fight our way out! Only thing those girls have on me is numbers! We’ll make an Alamo of it!”

“Stack, they lost at the Alamo.”

“Yeah but…” Stack huffs. “At least I remember the Alamo. But that’s beside the point! Just leave it all to me. And you just be you.” With that, Stack marches ahead, still not wearing her disguise. “Come on, Ellie! We must go onward if we’re going to defeat those mercenary cheating loons!
