I like consequences. Do you like consequences, /qst/? I think consequences are FUN. They make things EXCITING.This quest, therefore, is mainly about the consequences of choices you've made for your poor little gamer avatar, Alex Davidson. He's done pretty well for himself under your care. He's gotten a posh mansion, a new BMW (the contractors just finished getting it out of the remains of your old apartment yesterday), a ton of cash, and a small armory of items and gear pulled from other worlds. You see, you've... well, we've, given Alex an interesting little power. He can make characters from games he's beaten aware of his help and compel them to offer tribute. Using this power you've already amassed a small fortune and it's barely been two weeks since you've gained it.There's a slight catch though. It seems you're not the only one with this power, or at least a power similar to it. Strange happenings are being reported all over the globe, from the devastation of a Canadian town called Harmont, to the mysterious assault on North Korea by what appears to be an army of three meter tall metal giants covered in blades. You've already met someone with a power like yours, a D&D gamer named Alex Sloan who's taken to patrolling the streets of your city like a wanna-be superhero. Of course, this superhero is armored in enchanted plate mail and wields magic, but as of now, he's also a bit on the run."Reports claim that the American Knight and an unknown accomplice were present at the murder scene. Several of the men within, now identified as known figures in the world of organized crime, were found dead, killed by stabbing wounds. More men were found apparently mauled to death by wild animals, and officials are asking citizens to be on the lookout for some sort of large attack dog. The store was apparently a front for a human trafficking operation, and several escaped victims made it to the local police station. Details are still coming in. Both the Knight and his accomplice are wanted for questioning. The Knight is described as being five foot ten, and completely clad in black and gold medieval armor. The accomplice is a young man of about the same height, with brown hair and a slight build. He was seen carrying an assault rifle and is considered armed and dangerous. From the descriptions of eyewitnesses, police have managed this sketch..."A picture dominated the TV now. You sigh in relief. It looks a LITTLE like you, but that's it. Your attempts at keeping out of sight may have just saved you from the fire, no one got a good look at you. With a description that vague to work with, the police are probably flying blind...>Day 11 end.<
>>1982444THE LIST: https://pastebin.com/eEJ3iSXfDays 12-14You finish moving what possessions you have into the mansion, or rather hiring people to do that for you now that you're rich. You spent most of yesterday doing cardio exercises and practicing your ocarina, and the next two days go much the same, sans time playing with your two kittens, who you've named Jean and Urist.Over these three days, you try a variety of tributes at the warehouse you've bought for experimentation of your new power and storage for anything brought back with it. You tap the power of Crysis, Final Fantasy IV, Super Mario Bros, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Dominions 4: Thrones of Ascension, Mech Assault, Dungeon Keeper, and Digger HD. You are very lucky you bought such a big warehouse, because the Mad Cat that arrives for you courtesy of Wolf's Dragoons would've busted through the ceiling of a cheap storage unit. Also of note is the gray skull perched carefully on one of the chests you summoned. It returns your gaze, then startles you by opening its mouth and in a dry, hissing voice saying. "Good day."You gain and store the following at your warehouse:>Crysis Molecular Arrestor>Chest with assorted gold, 5 ethers, 5 X-potions, 4 phoenix downs, an Elven Bow, and a note from Cecil and Rosa asking you to take care of yourself, and they hope this helps.>A big red and white mushroom>A briefcase of cash, and a heavily modified .45 caliber pistol. A note: “Good luck, Commander.”>A heavily modified laser rifle: The Metal Blaster and 48 shots of MFC ammo.>A pile of gold, gems, and assorted treasure.>A pile of gold and emeralds.>A Mad Cat battlemech>Skull MentorBy the end of the fourteenth day you can manage a few easy tunes on your ocarina. You're getting there, slowly but surely. Only three days in means your cardio still has a long way to go before you can run like a normal person instead of someone that spent all their life sitting in front of a screen.>Days 12-14 end.<>Day 15 begin.<
>>1982470>Day 15 begin<You feel a little grumpy when you get out of bed this morning. Maybe it's the fact you've been frantically training cardio for the last few days and your body burns all over from the exertion, but whatever the reason, you just feel... off.You make the trip to your warehouse for the day's tributing and pause as you park your car outside. Summoning the power within you, you tap SimCity 3000, curious to see what will happen...A twelve foot tall bronze statue, depicting yourself regally standing on a rocky outcropping dressed in a smart looking suit with a briefcase in your hand materializes in front of the warehouse. At its base is an inscription: “The best cities are laid with vision and managed with wisdom. Dedicated to Alex Davidson, who turned our patch of hills and trees into a metropolis.”Not bad.Tribute Uses left: 2/3Before you can walk into your warehouse and try out the day's tributes, you get a ring on your burner phone. Answering it, you find it's your 'old pal' the jeweler. He's prepared to purchase thirty of your big diamonds for the price of thirty million dollars, meeting him at the usual place at noon. Do you accept his offer?
>>1982472Ah, I almost forgot.Over the last few days you manage to read through the treatise on mental fortitude sent to you by Alexandra Roivas. You believe you'll be better able to withstand mental stress, and if something has the ability to do so, mental attacks.
>>198247230 mill? Hell yea we acceptAdd and tribute diablo 3, monk this time
>>1982472Yep and bring the gun and shields also add god of war 2
>>1982472>>1982486 No the carjacker seen us clearly, I doubt he won't be a future problem.I would vote against another meet with the jeweler this soon. His greed is eventually going to get the best of him. Also a note: every time we get a space gun we only have a limited amount of ammo before it becomes a giant paper weight.Game: Golden Eye
>>1982472Ahh, back to this old thing. Well let's accept, and tribute Fable 3
>>1982472hell yeah, we have a shield and a bunch of weapons to conceal and use in case we need it. Don't take the original assault rifle we took though, get something else.I thought getting a gun permit was silly but it might come in handy if we get stopped by a cop or something.
>>1982492>>1982511Games Added: Diablo 3, God of War 2Game Tributed: Diablo 3Tribute Left: 1/3The monk that triumphed over the Lord of Terror sends back something he hopes will aid you in your own struggles... A disc of copper and silver with an emerald that you recognize as an Ancestor's Grace amulet. You get your gun and shield just in case and head out to the alley to make the exchange. The jeweler is there with his associate. The usual pleasantries are exchanged, the goods and cash change hands..."So, our partnership has been working out pretty well so far, hasn't it?" the jeweler asks, inspecting the diamonds."I guess so..." you say, looking over the briefcase of money you've received. The jeweler smiles."I can't help but think we could be doing more, though. I don't want to ruin a good thing, but it behooves us both to consider the gains of expanding, doesn't it? I have access to a network of contacts and resources that you do not. I'm happy to just act as a middleman of course... but this steady stream of goods you're bringing me is impressive. I have friends that might like to meet you, see if there's anything more we can do together. What do you say?"
>>1982531Agree to meet on a later day maybe like a week from now
>>1982531 I'll agree as well but I don't like the cut of this jewelers gib. If some shit does go down with some of our stranger weaponry the cops are going to flip out.
>>1982525A beautiful sword is added to your armory.>Gained Casanova.Tributes: 0/3.>>1982535>>1982536>>1982545"Sure, but I'm pretty busy for a while. We'll set a time in a week or so, all right?""Ah, but they're actually in town now. I've told them all about you, and they hate to be disappointed. I was hoping we could go have lunch after our transaction here. Do you like Italian?" the jeweler says, smiling broadly.
>>1982552We decide the time and the place we got you some good shit doesn't mean you get to tell us where to be and when
>>1982552...and so it begins."I've kinda got a busy day ahead of me, so maybe just a quick bite. I'll follow you."I'd suggest attaching our MA to said assault rifle and jam in bag of holding once out of viewIf this manages to not turn into a firefight I'd love to spend some time getting to know our superphone better
>>1982562>>1982572I need a tiebreaker vote either way.
>>1982552Gee dude I dunno it's kinda short notice and it's not like my supply of this stuff is infiniteBut ok
>>1982531continue our current arrangement and don't meet his friends.tell him that while our number of goods is large, our source isn't renewable and we only have a finite amount we can bring.
>>1982597>>1982601>>1982572>>19825622v2, so I'll break the tie."I'm flattered, but my supply is finite. There's only so much I can bring. Besides, we've got a good arrangement here, right? I like that no one tells me where or when to go, and you like that I bring you high quality goods.""I see," the jeweler says, sighing and cleaning his glasses. "I'll pass that on, then. They'll be unhappy, but I guess it can't be helped. I'll be in touch."You pack the money away in your car and drive back to your warehouse. What now?
>>1982616Call up Alex and ask if he saw the news
>>1982643"Yeah, I saw it. I'm staying low until things die down. I can't believe this, man. They were literally enslaving and murdering people in that goddamn house and no one did anything about it! Someone goes in and does something? NOW the cops want to get involved!" he sighs. "I'd lay low if I was you too. Maybe we can wait this out."
>>1982651"Alright man, will do. For what it's worth, I thought you did the right thing."If we have nothing else to do, we haven't tried tributing an mmo, have we? Try tributing overwatch.
>>1982616Hmm...I don't think it was mentioned but let's go get the BMW. Leave our shit car at the warehouse and take a cab after we know where going.Bring shield! I'm not sure about weaponry but put it in the bag
>>1982697"...I hope so, man. I really, really hope so."You're out of tributes for the day, but...>Game added: Overwatch.>>1982701You recover your BMW without incident.Do you have anything you want to do for the rest of the day?
>>1982716Miss around with superphone. Try hacking something. Like the Italian Restaurants webpage or better yet their Facebook!
>>1982716I'll back superphone experimentation. Get good with it, figure out the capabilities
>>1982716Learn How to shoot
>>1982745>>1982731>>1982728With the entire day open you manage to set up a makeshift firing range in your warehouse and squeeze off a few rounds. Firing a gun in real life is a lot different than in a video game, but you kinda figured that would be the case. At the end of a two hour session, your aim has improved a fair margin as you learn the basics.Messing around with the superphone comes a little easier for you. You go through its programs and get a handle on what they all do. This would be most useful if your city had the cToS, but there's still things you can do without. What do you want to attempt do with your hack on the restaurant's webpage?
>>1982755See if it has any dark web connections
>>1982755A small typo, not noticeable unless you're looking for it, just to see if we can.
>>1982755Change their heading banner to "Eat at Joes". Try to dig deeper and see if you can get into security cams.I'll tribute nothing but add Unreal Tournament
Rolled 37 (1d100)>>1982774>>1982778>>1982757Game Added: Unreal Tournament
>>1982814You manage to introduce a small typo and change their heading banner to "Eat at Joe's", but nothing more. They do have a security system, but you weren't able to break into it, nor could you find any connections....you DID note their security was really tight for a restaurant.
>>1982821Look into buying a security system for our mansion with whatever time we have left today.
>>1982821That blows. Let's get that statue to the mansion. I'm not sure we are with magic but we need to get better. Maybe ask the skull what it thinks?
>>1982821>Day 15 EndsYour dreams this night are of harsh, angry music that begins deafening and slowly begins to fade to nothing. Darkness and silence surround you until you hear a voice you remember vaguely from one of your dreams say, "Well. That's one."Then you wake up to the sounds of your doorbell ringing.>Day 16 Begins>Tribute refreshes.
>>1982878Our new swanky mansion doorbell? I'd hoped it would keep the peasants away.>Answer it
>>1982878Answer it, also we should buy some shit for the mansion
>>1982870>>1982865You can buy a really nice security system for five thousand dollars if you don't want to spare any expensive. Security cameras, alarms, and a link to the providing company for two years.>>1982870"That's my purpose, master," the skull whispers. "I am the Skull Mentor. I teach apprentices the secrets of magic. Let me see..." you feel the empty eyes of the skull bore into you. "...you have no innate magic right now, no connection to the arcane. But... but you do have something else. A strange power I've not seen. I could teach you traditional magic if you found a way to establish a connection to the arcane. With a little study, I could also see what I could do with the energy you're imbued with."
>>1982902>>1982888You put on your robe and walk down to the door, opening it to see two tall men in suits and trenchcoats. "Good evening Mr. Davidson. I'm Officer Gault, this is Officer Bowlens. May we come in?"
>>1982878Get Heroes of Might and Magic 3, play through Restoration of Erathia and get tributes
>>1982911Ah fuck"Something wrong?"
>>1982911"Um no">>1982903Yea get the full security. 5K is chump change to what we have now.
>>1982911"I'd prefer it if you wouldn't. I had a wild ass home warming party and don't wanna disturb any of my still sleeping guests. Um. What can I help you with?"
>>1982937>>1982931>>1982924"We just want to ask you a few questions. House-warming party, huh? So you just got this house?" the officer turns his head for a moment. "...and that's a BMW, in the driveway. Very nice car, looks pretty new itself. Didn't you use to live in the apartment building down near the El Burrito Loco?"
>>1982959>You did, by the way.
>>1982959"Why do you ask? Something happen there?"
>>1982959>>1982972"Yes as a matter of fact I did. I came into an inheiratance. I kinda lost it there for a minute and built that car..."Point at BMW. Close front door before beady cop eyes can spot shit"...in my living room to teach my dick landlord a lesson. But I paid for all the fees and fines. Is this what this about? Thats going be a classic joke and he deserved it."
>>1983015>>1982937You guys fail at lying.Don't volunteer any information not asked for, and the fewer details the better.
>>1983042Yeah but the car could very well be a well known about incident. Be smart
>>1983056I'm talking about mentioning an inheritance in that post primarily, and mentioning a house party we can't back up on close inspection in the other post.Car is car is known incident sure, but when police look into this inheritance or monitor our house to see these sleeping guests leave, its going to raise more questions that are going to be difficult to answer.
>>1982972>Quest pause<Being called in for something. Be back in two hours. Sorry, unavoidable.
>>1982959Just ask this >>1982984. Don't volunteer any other info.
>>1983072i think your missing a crucial detail: we already deposited 2 mill into a true bank account and that warehouse and storage are in our name.Besides I DOUBT they've opened a full investigation on us and couldn't get finances anyways. That's hardcore shit and we ain't that hot....yet
>>1983187Money can be known, but the moment you bring up an inheritance, that is something that people can go and check. If you must bring up our finances (which you don't need to), mention we sold things. Vague, and close to the truth. If later they try to harass us over taxes, then at that time (and not any sooner) we report our earnings and pay them.
>>1983358We don't want to not pay taxes and then get confronted.
>>1983369Its possible that we are being confronted NOW. Mind you, we aren't liable immediately.
Shit, maybe we should have met up with Jeweler's "friends". They could help us launder our money and teach us how to stay under the radar.
SighLook if that money came from a country that doesn't share finances or extradition they can't do shit about taxes. There's lots of them in real life
>>1983187>>1983358>>1983369>>1983518>>1983540>>1983582Guys chill outWe just got the money from a bunch of bitcoins we bought back in 08 and forgot about. We remembered recently, had an "Oh Shit" moment, and got stupid wealthy. We haven't declared it yet because it's not tax season.
>>1983717Nice thinking senpai
>>1983582If we use that excuse we better lawyer up.
>>1983717My concern isn't in how we explain our sudden wealth, we can cross that bridge when we come to it. We just need to stop dumping details we can't back up whenever the police ask the most casual questions.
>>1983785Coming up with an explanation now, spilling it, and sticking to it, is probably the best course of action.I came up with cryptocurrency because it's harder to track.
>Deepest apologies for being even later. The situation... escalated.>>1982984"Just an odd occurrence involving a car, but no one's pressing any charges and there doesn't seem to have been any crime committed," Officer Gault says. "You've been spending an awful lot of money lately."Officer Bowlens begins writing in a little notepad. "Do you mind if we ask where you got this sudden windfall?"
>>1984181"I don't see why you need to know but I understand it will cast suspicion on me if I don't answer"followed by >>1983717
>>1984212Officer Bowlens nods and records this in his notepad."Bitcoins... you got pretty lucky then. Or you were pretty smart. Do you have a significant other?" Officer Gault asks.
>>1984235Laugh to lighten the mood "I think I'm this town's most eligible bachelor"
>>1984242Officer Gault nods. "So... you don't really need any jewelry or anything of that sort?"
>>1984257"I bought a good many gems and put them in safe keeping. They're a pretty great store of value in this economy"Shit he's onto us
>>1984270"Going to bitcoins to jewels, I see," Officer Bowlens nods, continuing to write."One more thing, Mr. Davidson," Officer Gault says, holding up a photograph. It's a picture of the big man that always accompanies the jeweler when he makes his purchases. "Do you recognize this man?"
>>1984306How much of our gear do we have on our person right now?How upstanding do these cops look?
>>1984306"Never seen him before in my life"
>>1984306no sir, never seen him before.not from work or at my old place.
>>1984257 "Wait...what? I can get my own jewelry from Zales. And no I'm single. Did some hotty in my old building put out an APB or something?"Laugh at the damn joke.I don't think he's onto us yet....
>>1984311None.The cops seem normal enough.>>1984326>>1984312"Never? Well if you do see him, I'd steer clear. He's... what's the term... a 'bad hombre' you might say.">>1984327"Oh, we just asked that to see if you were buying a ring or something," Officer Bowlens says, continuing to write away. "Do you hike or camp often?"
>>1984390> "No sir, all things considered, I'm fairly sedentary. In my youth I used to camp with my father, in the BSA, but since then, no, not really.
>>1984399This is fineGoddamn it, they're on to us. i don't want to get in a shoot out or anything, we just bought a bunch of shit.As soon as the cops leave add skies of arcadia. With luck vyse will send us a fuck awesome air ship since hes a pirate king. Fuck, we could set the cold fusion reactor as a backup power source to.shit, is there a game where you just need blue prints to build difficult shit?
>>1984399Officer Bowlens nods. "Ever been to the national park just north of here? It's about twenty minutes or so."
>>1984421Have we? I don't remember us ever heading there actually."Maybe in my youth but I honestly don't remember, not recently if ever."
>>1984426It's where you summoned the tank.
"You mean where they found that tank?"
>>1984446Changing to this
>>1984446>>1984426"You mean where they found that tank? Maybe in my youth, but I honestly don't remember. Not recently, if ever."Officer Bowlens laughs a little. "Yes, where they found that tank. Whoever solves that little caper is going to bump up a paygrade or two. It's looking like it's destined to star on an episode of 'Unsolved Mysteries' or something."Officer Gault nods. "Thank you for your time and cooperation, Mr. Davidson. We have no further questions. We'll let you get back to your day."

>>1984474Smile and wave them off, step back inside, close door.Almost pass out and break into cold sweat.Recover and add Pokemon Platinum.
>>1984474I'm voting for whatever time it might take for whenever during the day and ask the skull what it means by innate ability and how to gain it.Game: Ace Combat 6I'll again tribute nothing
>>1984496You do all of these.Game Added: Pokemon Platinum.>Game Paused<I must be off gentanons. I'll pick up in nineteen hours and sorry again for the interruption. When I get back you have 3/3 tributes and a full day. One anon suggested playing through Restoration of Erathia, and while you can't knock out that game in a day, you can put a huge dent in it. There's also stuff you can do with your inventory, looking into any of the incidents happening around the world, checking up with the other Alex, and the ever popular train shooting/ocarina/cardio.
>>1984474Go talk to the skull and ask it for a way for us to gain access to magic. Also bring it with us so it can observe and study how we use our Tribute powers.

>>1984505Game Added: Ace Combat 6.The skull floats over to you."You lack the spark of awakened magic within you to provide a base for learning magic. Magic itself seems to be... mostly absent from this world," the skull thinks for a moment. Assuming you give me permission to examine your amassed treasures.">Subquest: Given enough time the Mentor Skull can find a way to give you the magic spark. >>1984510>>1984529Thank nice running>>1984581That's a great way to dieI'm honestly really curious what will happen when we call on a game with multiple protags or vs combat (like Overwatch). There are a few things I can think we oughta do.>Ask Smiles about the multiverseHow in the hell are the game chars actually giving us this stuff? Are they real and in an alternate reality? Can we go to said alternate realities if we learn enough magicks? So many questions...What happens if we make our own game and give the char a bazillion dollars then ask them for tribute? Is that just cheating and he won't allow it? What if we ask someone else to make the game for us? (Either directly or indirectly)>Spill everything to AlexThe guy became a fucking White Knight, literally. He seems like the only person we can trust with this if anyone (maybe our work friend) and it would be worth it to get ahead of anyone else that may have these gifts. If we join forces we could rule/save the world!Start the convo with "So has being a white knight got you any poon?">Add game: TIS-100Because holy shit am I curious what that will give us
He probably has a way to give us some kind of magic seeing as he likely has some himself.
>>1984581>>1984529We could combine Potions of Beneficial Mutation, Brilliance, Experience and Magic with the Horadric cube along with a Perfect Emerald (Which we will craft with the Horadric Cube beforehand). That might make something that could get us some magic. Toss a few Ethers in there while we are at it.Alternatively, in fictorum, magic effects can be removed from items to be used by the player. It might be possible to finagle something magic spark out of that, especially considering it functions as a source of mana.
After getting spooked by the cops, I am thinking we should start finding a good lawyer. We need to also fortify our warehouse in case of a confrontation. Buy a power generator and a few month's worth of food and water. We also build some anti-vehicle barriers at around our warehouse.
We should go to the American government. Tell them we have magic, show them us summoning something, tell them we can only use the power if we are happy and then tell them we can give them a thousand years of tech advancement in 10 if they go along with it. Everyone in here is too busy thinking small term, if we use our powers properly, we can get blueprints for a light speed drive eventually since smiley said a later tier will let us request shit. Rather than fucking around at home, we can advance humanity and become the guy who single handedly made interstellar travel and magic possible. Smiling grin said he is doing all this for shits and giggles to see what happens, so let's show him some real shit.
>>1986015Adding on to this, once we start, we can have people make games for us where the common currency is whatever the fuck item we want to acquire and the main character I stupid rich and has "returns all debts 10fold" as a personality trait
>>1986015why would we give a fuck about humanity and doing shit for mankind?we've been building ourselves up and keeping an eye on possible threats like the dnd guy.we seem to care more about our self than anyone else.we're playing a gamer that had a shit job not some historian that wants to be the next alexander the great or nelson mandela or some shit.
>>1986043Why the hell not? Why live on shitty earth where we are literally about to get fucked in the ass by law enforcement when we can go to the government, be given whatever we want, and become an imortal space god beloved by all of humanity? This is not an unselfish plan. Any gamer worth his salt knows how to optimize, and this is how we can get the most out of our powers.
>>1986048And we better do it fast as fuck before anyone else does it or we get ourselves killed by whoever else is running around thanks to smiley
>>1986015>How burgers think>Just tell the government all about my super powers>Not just hiring SpaceX and establishing your own state and telling the government to fuck themselves
>>1984695As much as I want to drink the potion of beneficial mutation, I'm going to have to support the Hodriac Cube plan. However, I vehemently oppose the destruction of our Fictorum Staff to get magic quicker, although it may be more difficult to obtain magic without destroying it, the power boost from the staff should more than make up for the wait.>>1984824I wholeheartedly support this in every conceivable way, although I'd rather not put up anti-vehicle barricades or extensive outside fortifications, because that would increase our heat tremendously.>>1986015>>1986035No, we can't risk revealing ourselves to the government, at best we'll be imprisoned in an isolated bunker somewhere and enslaved for our powers, and at worst, we'll be dissected and studied by some alphabet soup agency.
>>1986062As much as you think they are, the US govt is not full of absolute retards. They are rational, even if shady. Why go to the govt? They are the most powerful entity around. They want to hold on to that power. Right now, the world is in chaos. If they see a winning card why would they throw it away? All we have to do is tell them we will teleport away if they try shit on us. They have no idea what we are capable of, and are likely to assume it is in line with what happened in NK. If we go to them, we instantly give them a massive advantage.
>>1986048i mean, your plan isn't terrible. its just the going to the government part when we could be aiming to own our own nation or something that turns me off to it.Also the motivation that we'd be doing it for humanity when our actions have clearly been heading to make ourselves better and richer.
>>1986085If we do it competently ourselves, I would say sure, but the way anons are playing is like a fucking 12 year old. At the rate we are going, we have already gotten the attention of the govt, and they will fuck is in the ass if we try to fight them the way we are playing. Sure we have cool toys, but we aren't invincible. We will die to either the Govt or other power users when they realized we are an uncontrolled threat. Right now, the govt already knows something is up with us, so we should cash in now before they put a target on our ass. They can hide us from other power users and allow us to use our powers with maximum efficiency. What the fuck else are we going to do with shit like a Russian blue print for cold fusion reactors? The US govt has the resources and connections to help us seriously abuse this power while we simply do not.
OK fellas this going to the government shit is completely out of the question. Why? For one some ultra weird shit is going on world wide. Two chances are we're going to get into something real soon. Between the jewelers associate and the Knight something's about to go down.Third, and I said this yesterday; that carjacker is still running around, and I for one don't trust this Knight to lay low. We might fool the local cops but we probably shouldn't screw around with the gubbment.Forth: what's the purpose in fortifying a warehouse we'll soon be moved out of? I don't know wtf to do with that MadCat.I have a feeling we're going to have a busy day.
>>1986108well we are still getting used to our powers and shit.As soon as we get to make requests from the games we tribute we can start stretching our wings. We can get an airship from skies of arcadia or the archangel from a gundam game or a space ship from starcraft and stop worrying about getting caught.
>I'll note you guys are pretty close to tier 3, which lets you do something completely different. There is a tier that lets you request items, though. We aren't moving out of the warehouse anytime soon soon. We haven't even gotten to 3 tier yet. So may as well fortify our warehouse at the meantime before shit hits the fan.

His body was completely dismembered into thirteen pieces, each hanging from an iron hook and chain affixed to the ceiling by unknown means. Police are investigating now.In other news the Field Museum's rare book room was broken into last night and several pieces were apparently stolen. While we're at it, what all is in our bag of holding? I think we should keep a few emergency supplies like the maxim tomato and our scrolls of blinking and teleport in it. I'm a little concerned about using the teleport, though, it would be nice if it was just around the city but it would suck if we ended up on the other side of the world.

The jeweler takes his seat behind the desk and you see the big man that accompanies him for trades behind him."What's all this?" you ask."The good news is that we got your little present," the jeweler says. "The bad news is that Mr. Giusetelli doesn't take kindly to people offing his hirelings, even to send a message. The opportunity is that he's willing to let you... work off your debt."The jeweler smiles."You know, I heard the craziest rumor the other day... Someone told me that you just waved your arms around and all those diamonds you sold me? They just appeared from thin air. Isn't that wacky?"
>>1997135Pretty sure we have never heard the name Giusetelli."Giusetelli? Is that the name of the person who hired the guy that tried to rob me? Don't bother answering, it doesn't matter, whoever it is, we don't owe him shit."

The jeweler pauses. "You know, I just remembered another rumor. The jeweler is the first to go, slamming back into his chair with a dumbfounded expression on his face, two holes blossoming red in his chest. The sleeveless mook is next, his skull shattering from a high caliber round. The slick-dressed thug pulls a silenced Beretta from his vest and pops off a few rounds at you that plink off your shield before you put three in him, center mass just like you've been learning...The cops warned you about the big man for a reason. While you gun down his fellows, the gorilla in a suit closes the distance and grabs the barrel of the gun in your right hand with an odd motion, twisting it around while avoiding its line of fire. The motion breaks your finger and allows him to pull the gun into his own grasp. You bring your other gun around and fire, but only two rounds connect before you hear the click of an empty magazine. The big man smiles and you see something under his suit... body armor. You toss the gun away and reach for your bag, pulling out the scroll of Berserk."What is this?" the man speaks in heavily accented English. "You going to read me my rights? You blink and note the near absence of light, a single, dirty, flickering bulb giving you just enough illumination to see that you are chained and shackled to a wall. You are in a cell. Other than your chains, the only other feature of this room is the stained cot. You look up to see a hall on the other side of your cell door, an empty cell across from you. The sounds of soft crying are heard from further down the hall.
if we emulate injustice do we get super strength for a few minutes?cause you know, that'd get us out of shackles and the cells. Add spyhunter and twisted metal.
>>1997300Depends which superhero you Emulate. It won't last long, though.Games added.
>>1997281OK gents, we have clearly been punished by the Random Number God for our hubris. All we need to do right now is try some tier 2 tributes until we get something that can port us out. We can try to get back to our stuff once that is done.Tier 2 Tribute Bravely Default
>>1997300>>1997303If we are talking about emulating, we would probably be better off busting out of the cell with a tribute item, and then emulating batman from one of the Arkham games that we haven't hit yet.

one of the strength or cloaking mods seems best for breaking out.
>>1997365Good job, you didn't even need to identify it. Growth Egg equipped.I have to leave now, unfortunately. I look forward to see how you all get out of this tomorrow. I'm also going to hold off on aug decision until then to give other people a shot at input.See you then!
>>1997369It would be a waste to use our nano aug for cloaking, unless we were planning on leaving another day. We don't have an easy energy reserve to power it.It might be doable, if we were willing to stick around for a day or two and try to tribute a couple more things that might grant us a power source. Combining that with an emulated Mr. Shifty or Batman could get us out almost easily.
Gonna vote for myofibril muscle, it'll probably get us out of these shackles, and later it'll help with stuff like our plate mail/flak cannon. How is the energy cost for this stuff handled?
>>1997378Does the Growth egg assist the evolution of our power? Considering that all the experience for our power is done behind the scenes, the only way for us to know if it did is if you told us.If so, we need to bust out today. It could end up being one of our most valuable items long term, and we can't afford to lose it to some cell search.Tier 2 tribute Knights of the Old Republic. Emulate Mr. Shifty. My vote for our nano aug is that we should get ballistic protection. We are busting out gentlemen, and we aren't doing it exactly quietly. We need to resist bullets.
>>1998092I'm seconding this. Our main goal should be to recover our shit ASAP! That blessed bag of holding and our shield isn't something we can leave behind, unlike a tank in the woodsAlso: Are we able to emulate games we've already tributes?
Popping in for a moment to answer questions.>>1998006Helios/JC can deduce you don't have ways to restore bioenergy, so all nanoaugs from this canister are designed to run off your natural bioelectricity. The upside? No need to worry about energy levels. The downside? Energy hog augs like cloaking or regeneration can only be active for a few minutes before shutting down to recharge. Conservative augs (50 energy/minute) can be run indefinitely.>>1998092You would assume so.And I'm gone. Game will resume in seven hours, gentlemen.
>>1998134No, once a game is tapped for any reason, it is removed from play.
>>1998134Unfortunately, our first priority needs to be leaving here. We can come back for our shit once we are no longer behind enemy lines.I'm more worried about our house. That skull mentor is integral to getting a permanent power boost that we desperately need.
im leaning towards the bullet proof aug or strength to get out. we could make a lot of noise and then emulate agent 47 from the hitman games.hes genetically engineered so hes better and stronger than humans but still human so it should last long enough to kill and sneak our way towards the boss of this place and if it runs out we can summon a tank or something. Also, another important thing about 47 is he can interogate people so we can find our items and hes normal enough that people shouldn't get to freaked about this when we are done.A guy breaking out and killing everyone in his way? believable.A guy flying and shooting lasers like superman? thats gonna attract more attention.
>>1998192That's not a bad idea, but it would require using our nano aug on microfibral muscle in addition to using our emulation on Agent 47. Remember, we need to be able to get out of the cell for any plan to work whatsoever.Actually, if we emulated superman JUST long enough to bust out of the cell, back to surface level, that might solve our current problem quite handily.Heck, if we had a little time to spare after that, we could rush back to our house...Depends on how exactly our emulation works. We would need to be able to emulate strength and durability at a minimum for superman to be an instant bust. Flight and the previous two would make things easy.I suggest we tribute KotOR like I said a little bit ago, see if that can bust us out first, and then choose our aug based on our needs. Muscle if we still aren't out of our cell, or ballistic protection/cloak if it does get us out. Then we can save our emulation as a trump card.
>>1998234>I suggest we tribute KotOR like I said a little bit ago, see if that can bust us out first, and then choose our aug based on our needs. Muscle if we still aren't out of our cell, or ballistic protection/cloak if it does get us out. Then we can save our emulation as a trump card.gonna change my vote to this
>>1998234i figured 47 emulation could get out of the shackles on his own since above human starndards but it could fail i suppose.it would save us our last tribute in case of an emergency though. we can still sneak and kill and then loot guns and ammo but a surprise tank appearing out of nowhere could save us if they get the drop on us.im mostly worried that we'll get something from kotor that'll be useless in escaping like the bravely default tribute.
>>1998281KotOR doesn't HAVE to be what we tribute, by all means suggest something else, its just what I could think of offhand that had a chance of giving us energy weapons/explosives to bust us out.I think Emulation is a better trump card than a tribute personally. In regards to breaking out, I don't think 47 could get us out of the cell, the shackles maybe, but not the shell.

>>1999139You're a ways away from the next tie abilityr, the next upgrade you're due to get is an increase in uses per day.You studied the footage closely enough to know that you are on the dungeon level of the complex under the restaurant.Yes, they took your gear, but you are dressed.>>1998234>>1998256>>1998134It looks like the KOTOR plan is getting the most votes. >>1999872Holy shit it actually worked out cut ourselves out of the shackles and bust the door down. take the balistics dermal aug since strength won't effect our cutting power.Shit, we could emulate dante from devil may cry to pull off some sick moves with the sword and the guns that we loot.

You stagger back, feeling nauseous as the nanites do their work, transforming you. For a minute, you cannot move. When you can though, you feel added weight in your limbs, and a dull sensation of something being under your skin. >>2000011leave the other cells alone and turn off your lightsaber and head straight for the door. we're gonna be making enough noise to draw the cops here soon anyway who'll take care of the prisoners. just kill any gangsters we see so they don't alert or comeback to the prison.
>>2000011Check the other cells for captives. Move towards that end hallway iron door. This shit is dicey. If there others here chances are their going to know a light saber when they see one. Never mind the us taking bullets that don't do shit to us problem.Let's go find our shit...

>>2000227Well I'm retarded nevermind
>>2000160>>2000174>>2000209The guard station is a small room with a long hall going to the north and several doors around it. You don't have much time to look around before you hear the crash of tiny explosions. You feel the bullets impact off of your skin before you see the trio of men with submachineguns directing a stream of lead your way. They're running down the hall, and you leap away from the hall, taking cover behind a wall. You hiss in pain, blood soaking your clothes as you touch painful holes in your chest. Your ballistic protection has saved your life, but the holes remind you that it does not fully negate a bullet strike, just most of it. You're going to have to be careful until you can get your shield back. When the trio of thugs come around the corner, you slash wide, catching them all in the chest. Whether they die or live, you don't know, you just know they go down and don't get up. Adrenaline pumps through you as you race down the hall. You know this area. The evidence. You saw all of this...Given what you saw during your surveillance, the best place for your gear is going to be in the vault on the next level up. They've no doubt had a look at the shield and saw the bag is more than it appears... There's no way it would be in with the regular storage. That does lead you deeper into the complex, though. There's an exit not far from here, an emergency escape you could climb up and out of the complex. It's your best shot at getting out of here quickly. You also know where you think the boss of this entire operation is... a room with lots of communications equipment, monitors... and a very fancy desk complete with ominous looking swivel chair. This might be a good opportunity to try and nip this whole Giusetelli thing in the bud. Of course this is the highest risk option. You only have a use of Emulate left. What do you do?
>>2000299No.Our shit cannot stay with these clowns. That's out. Somebody emulate someone with some passive healing and swordsmanship techs.
>>2000299loot the dead guards of their guns and ammo and head for giusetelli.when the fighting gets really heavy and when we meet the nicely dressed fuck who put us here we can emulate dante from devil may cry and fuck everyone up.
>>2000299Grab a machinegun and some ammo and fashion a makeshift bandana form your useless and bloody clothes. Then head for the vault.Seconding >>2000326 to emulate dante.
>>2000345>>2000326>>2000320Even a life or death situation can't suppress well honed gamer instincts to LOOT EVERY FUCKING THING.You just wish you had your bag, your pockets can only hold so much 9mm ammunition. Ah, the MP-5. A true classic. You sling it around your neck and grab a glock for your other hand, with your right carrying the silver saber. Behind you, you see the scared faces of the other prisoners. You flash them a smile that displays more confidence than you feel."Open season on scumbags, folks," you say before running down the hall. You know exactly where to go. You find the stairs up and eat a bullet from a fast guard. The lead falls off your arm coated in blood, but your saber goes clean through the gangster's skull. The cauterization of the cut means you don't even slip on his blood as you vault up the stairs towards your goal. An alarm begins blaring. Someone saw you and slipped away. No matter. This has got to be quick, not quiet. Not anymore. You burst out into the access hall leading to the vault...More bones must be rolled.
>>2000299Cut through the ceiling with our lightsaber. Shortcut time!

>>2000382>>2000387>>2000391>>2000392You turn the corner and immediately have to roll back into it as a wall of lead flies your way. There's twelve of the bastards down around the vault door. That's most of the dedicated security for this level you remember from the cam footage. Someone relatively smart must have figured you'd come this way if you busted out of your cell. But they didn't know you can call on the skills of the Demon Killer.Another five of the thugs burst from a door down the other direction in the hall, flanking you. They pull strange pistols... no, tasers, and begin advancing. You smile, a deadly sort of confidence... or carelessness flooding your system."This party's getting crazy!" you shout, standing to your full height and tapping your Emulation for Devil May Cry. "LET'S ROCK!"The tasers fire, but fire too slowly, you're already spinning away from the needles and tracking wires, your Glock spitting death while you swing your saber in a lazy arc that cuts a man from shoulder to groin. Two of the thugs break and run, the remaining two going down to bullet rounds and opening the lane of fire for their friends down the hall. With no allies alive in the way, the twelve around the vault door open fire with a motley collection of submachineguns and assault rifles, a virtual cloud of various calibers flying towards you. With superhuman speed you dodge around it, ignoring the few that catch you. Dante's endurance combined with your nanoaug lets you completely shrug off the hits. More adrenaline surges through you and bodies start hitting the floor as you close distance and let loose with saber and pistol. Caught between the dead end of the vault door and you, the gangsters cannot retreat and fight to the last man, an uncharacteristic valor that might cheer up however many widows or orphans you are making tonight. You feel invincible as bullets, switchblades, and even a Bowie knife plung into you without harm. That feeling fades as the last grunt slumps down against a wall, three nine millimeter rounds grouped through his heart. Your lightsaber mocks the foot-thick steel of the vault as you carve your way inside, revealing rack after rack of weapons, tables stacked with money, briefcases of drugs... and your bag, shield, and pistol neatly center on an appraisal table. You feel the last of Dante's power slip away as you reach your gear. You've got your stuff, but are out of trump cards. Now what?>Emulate used: Devil May Cry.
>>2000503Gear up, head towards the emergency exit.Time to fuck right out of here.
>>2000503Put on shield and take a healing potion (if applicable) and let's blow this hot dog joint!

Despite your layers of protection, you took a lot of hits and it was starting to pile up. Still tastes like ass, though. You search around and find an armored vest that you easily strap on, fashioning your bloody shirt into a mask in the off chance someone might not know your face. The consensus seems to be heading for that exit. >>2000593Did you not hear the news? We have our shield back.Good on you though for thinking of looting.
>>2000644To be fair, the shield does run out eventually, and those precious few seconds of being vulnerable would be helped by body armor...>>2000635ABSOLUTELYCRAZYWell SOME of Dante's power might be sticking around for a bit longer. When a pair of thugs in body armor and balaclavas pop out of a door and throw a grenade your way, you catch the damn thing and throw it back in one smooth motion. The resulting explosion and screams indicate you don't have to worry about another fight. You dash towards the exit for this level, putting your memory to the test as you pass a screaming, trembling man clutching a sheaf of papers protectively as he cowers away from you. The fight must be gone from the people left.Your saber opens the way when keys do not, a short trail of slashed open doors ending in a cargo lift shaft, a maintenance ladder bolted to the wall. Wasting no time and still riding high on adrenaline, you scramble up the ladder. Is this what the Knight felt when he raided? No wonder he did it, the high is amazing...You slash open the hatch to emerge from a concealed cargo drop area in the back of the restaurant. Sirens are already loud in the air and you see flashing lights from the alley to your left. Several more alleys branch off from this small back parking lot, tall buildings fencing you in from the sides. What now?
>>2000691Do we still have a potion of invisibility?Quaff that bitch.
>>2000711You down your potion of invisibility, cloaking you from sight. You could make an easy escape now... or you could see what happens.

>>2000750Cars still hanging out. Let's see what happens.
>>2000750We could see what happens? That sounds like a mystery box...Tempting, but lets get out of the alleys and on the opposite side of the street from the restaurant, first.Once our vantage is set up, check to see if we still have our aiden phone, and if we do, erase all footage from our presence in the restaurants lower levels. After that is all done, sit back and watch the show.

>>2000870>>2000874You sneak away from the restaurant and set up a vantage point from an alley a fair distance away. From there you observe a large police presence storm the restaurant, a SWAT team at the forefront. While they burst into the building you hastily erase the camera footage of your daring escape and then cover your electronic tracks. By the time you're done with that, you see a quartet of SWAT officers in full armor escorting a line of men in fancy suits out of the restaurant. They're in cuffs, so it's clear this is not a friendly house call.Roll exactly one d100, then tell me if you're sticking around or heading home.

You have a fair amount of day left before you go back to sleep. What do you do?

>>2000999Due to your kidnapping, you actually missed your appointment with the security people. Both nations are still suspicious of the other, but it's been announced that the current theory is that some sort of robot was mass-fielded by a third party for some unknown reason. Both nations are sparing no expense to try and find the truth behind this. There is some debate over whether the giants were actually robots or not, though no pictures have been released to the public, they are rumored to not look very mechanical... or really look like something made by humans.Other than that, the investigation into the death of Graven Irons continues. Some eyewitnesses say they saw a man with dark hair and a mustache contact the musician a few days before his disappearance.Word has come back from Harmont of several civilians breaking the military cordon and returning with bizarre treasures that seem to break the laws of physics. Rumor has it these samples have been purchased by private R&D firms for ludicrous amounts of money. The Canadian government is acting fast to enact legislation to prevent this sort of odd poaching. In what news channels is dubbing a case of mass hysteria caused by stress over escalating world tensions, several witnesses in New York claim to have seen a young woman in some sort of tights or spandex fly across the city skyline. There is rampant speculation this is a stunt for the latest batch of Marvel movies.>>2001010It'll take the rest of the day, but might as well get it done... >>2001400You did send the evidence.I need a tiebreaker vote on both patrol and magic v puzzle emulation.>>2001353You flip the channels and find it breaking on the local news. There's no mention of you. Just that an anonymous tip led the police to raid the restaurant, where they found a multi-million dollar "crime center" running underneath. Mr. Giusetelli's lawyer is threatening to sue the city for their brutal and unprovoked raid on what he is currently claiming as an elaborate "escape room" designed to take advantage of the latest craze to attract more customers. Mr. Giusetelli further asserts his restaurant was attacked by a terrorist shortly before the raid. The Department of Homeland Security has been called in to investigate the possibility of such, and any possible link between this and the tank incident of a few days ago. There has been speculation now that the tank was part of an arms deal between the don and an unknown third party.Even the people Giusetelli paid off aren't buying the escape room story.

Doesn't it make more sense to know the person you're fighting with?""Yeah, that's a good point," Alex laughs. "Sorry, I just sort of assumed you wanted to keep things business-like with the way you approached me back... back at that house. Yeah, we can hang for a bit. Where do you want to meet?"

We're focusing on doing everything but talking shop, right?"
>>2004242Looks like no one wants to deal with SoL."No, I totally get it. Anyhoo, what we are trying to do here is to get to know each other, at least a little, so that when we do get to business we can have a better idea of who has our backs."
>>2004397Maybe Alex's choice of steak drove them off."All right," Alex nods. "So... where do we start?" He frowns ."You've got to forgive me man, I'm a giant nerd. Uh, hobbies, I guess? Pretty much any RPG, video games, reading, fencing... and I guess justice now, too."

>>2004634Well then, how about this? Give me the tone, the goal, and any questions you'd like to ask him and I'll write up a vignette for next thread. That should satisfy characterization without bogging things down.>>2004632Exactly what do you want to do to the reptiles?
>>2004618if anon hates it so much you can summarize it s bit.long as we dont reveal anything about our magic.we just wanted to make friends so he feels a bit indebted to help us afterall. Also, i was at work while most of this was going but why the hell did we buy a bunch of animals?we added geneforge specifically so we'd have something to do with the kittens
>>2004649Things should start friendly, just two guys getting a feel for each other, maybe a little oblique talk about our respective old home lives, without getting into specifics. We should ask what sort of things we would like to change about the world. From there things should start to shift to a somewhat more serious tone, where we start talking a bit about our priorities in the field, being careful (and probably a little awkward), about phrasing things so others can't understand what is going on. We need to understand the status quo in how far we are going to go to save each other if things get rough, for example. And finally, in hushed voices outside the restaurant, where we can't be heard: To what extent are we the Judge, jury and executioner? Are those who will be spared? If so, who? How far is too far? These are things we need to know before we can trust anyone we go vigilante with.
>>2004697Righto. Unfortunately that's all for today, but I'll be back in the morning with erratic updates and then there will be a new thread on Wednesday.
>>2004649I want to try altering the reptiles to be bigger, stronger and aggressive. Like the Battle Creations? I never played Geneforge so I don't know much.
>>2004720Sounds to me like you need to roll a d100.
Rolled 98 (1d100)>>2005140DIIIIIIICE
>>2005159Oh HELL YEAH.Guenhwyvar companion here we come motherfuckers.
>>2005159You test your new magic on the snakes first, tweaking them only slightly in order to see what works and what doesn't. After that, you have a cage full of larger, more venomous snakes with glowing eyes and vestigal wings. Your tests complete and flush with the confidence from the canister's essence, you pick up a Green Anole and place it carefully in the testing cage.Summoning your powers, you begin to Shape it, growing muscle, thickening bone, altering its brain chemistry... The lizard begins to frantically consume the food you've piled into the cage, theorizing correctly that altering an existing animal requires large amounts of mass to fuel the growth. The lizard swells in size, horns breaking through its head, fangs growing from its mouth, wings emerging from its back...You can't help but laugh maniacally as you continue to pump magic into it. Vague images of old black and white movies float through your mind as you see your creation twist and grow under your command. You can't stop yourself. You say it."LIFE!" you roar. "LIFE, DO YOU HEAR ME?! GIVE MY CREATION.... LIIIIIIIIIFE!"When the last of the magic leaves you, you quickly release you're going to need a much, much bigger cage.Crammed into the test cage is the scaled and winged form of a baby dragon that was once an anole. It belches a lazy stream of fire as you rub your hands excitedly.>Gain Infant Dragon Familiar.>Shaping magic exhausted for the day.
>>2005201Dammit OP where are we gonna hide this totally awesome dragon companion??Okay I contemplated this for some time and have a great solution. A Pokeball! Indefinite dimensional companion storage. If we haven't yet, let's tribute Pokemon Red Version.I am open to other anon's ideas of course but this seems like a pretty elegant solution.
>>2005201On a side note OP, about how big is our baby dragon? How strong/how agile, and can it fly yet or breathe fire? Does it listen to our commands reasonably? If needed let's play with it a bit to test it out (steering carefully around those claws)Also I say that in the future we should use shape life to accelerate the hardening/durability of the dragon's scales to proof it against attacks. It can be our tank/personal helicopter.
>>2005259It's more or less an alligator with longer arms that breathes fire. It can't fly yet. With Reptile's Medal in hand you test your control over the baby dragon and find it obeys you easily enough. It goes where you tell it to, stops when you tell it to. You'd have to construct a training room of some sort to try out anything more, you don't want to burn down your mansion after all.And here's where that erratic update bit comes into play.>Quest Paused, resumes in 9-10 hours.
>>2005301 Alligator is good. It will make a fine home defense pet along with our turret until it is strong enough to come out with us.Give standing orders not to breathe fire unless we instruct it to do so, and to avoid damaging the house. It is allowed to roam but shouldn't let itself be seen by others.
You must have known this was coming.>1 All of us need to check the fucking list and figure out what items and loot we can have on us at ALL time. Rings and other inconspicuous items should be on us well. I'm going to hope the shield is on as well>Smart Tribs, Emulation, and now this fucking life thing: we need to be a lot smarter about some if this shit. Emulate something that helps us in a pinch. Yesterday was good, but I think we can do better!>We need magic now: Yeah we fucking do. I know the timers at 24 hours but damn. My suggestion is to pop that CT right after we gain magic.Magic +1 gained! Now magic +2>We still don't know the capabilities or numbers of what POTENTIALLY might be roaming in our own backyard. Again think of someone 6 months in with their tributes and level (tier) ups>You guys want to suck Alex's cock: A buddy team-up is cool, but his usefulness is going to end at "Justice". Whatever we might perceive at the time.>To follow up on that: we're a fucking millionaire let's act like it and get our boy laid or some shit. Or at least hire a maid to clean this shit up. Pay her/him extra for keeping their mouths shut about dragons and talking skulls and other weird crap I got more but screw you guys
>>2005882Son, I am disappoint.Of course we have a bunch of people latching on to the only named character that hasn't been involved in imprisoning us, that's just what people do.I personally would like to distance us from Alex, but anons want to pull on that plot thread. So, since it looks like we are working with him anyway, I want to know more about him than just "that justice guy".We have done a pretty good job thus far of keeping our name out of the news, even with the Giusetelli fiasco. As long we don't have the attention of a bunch of supers, we can continue to quietly accrue power. It might be difficult if we go on patrol with Alex, but we get a tank buddy in exchange for the increased risk.We might want to hold on to the tab to give someone else magic in the future, but doesn't really matter. You can't really blame anons for failing to keep track of our shit, we have a metric fuckton of it.
if we wanted to keep our secret better we should have killed Giusetelli and the fuck that knocked us out before leaving. Our shield and point blank shots would have ended them both quick. Now they'll be putting hits on us or telling everyone our secret out of spite. Also from the way i understood it, it was either befriend the guy or start fighting crime in spandex with him like an idiot. the least awful decision was taken. >>2005882>hire a maid to clean this shit up. Pay her/him extra for keeping their mouths shut about dragons and talking skulls and other weird crap Hell No!just create a single subservient slave with our shaper powers.Thats what the shapers in the geneforge series do for a reason.
>>2006360>>2006210>>2005882Good to see some discussion going on in my absence. The vignette will be ready for the opening of next thread alongside an updated pastebin. In the meantime, you've got a final tribute before the day ends. Did you want to use it?
>>2007925if no one else has anything then add and tribute rune factory 1
>>2007965A platinum hammer falls to your feet.
>>2007925>>2008032Let's get this party started.
>>2008032Op please addTom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos TheoryTom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double AgentThank you
>>2008088Games added. Are you doing anything else or is Alex heading to bed for the night?
>>2008102Bed sounds good. Finish our magic training first thing in the morning.
>>2008102Did we get the skull to observe us while tributing? If not, let's get the skull to observe us from now on when we tribute.Just go the bed.
>>2008114Yes, the skull will study you each time you tribute. It may take a while before it can give you something useful, however.>>2008109With a full belly and a head full of new knowledge you head to bed and drift off to sleep...>Day 20 ends."...is this even working? Can you even hear me? Or is it just eating even the..."You dream you're back at your old job, but for lunch all they have is big bowls of broken glass. You sigh dejectedly and take a big spoonful, chewing mechanically as your teeth crack shards into splinters that lacerate your gums and throat. You're very happy to wake up.>Day 21 begin>Tributes refresh.>Emulation refreshes.>Shaping refreshes. You can barely stop yourself from speeding all the way to the warehouse. This is the day. This is when you take the final lessons to being able to cast magic. You'll be an honest to god mage after today...The skull's lessons are rather difficult this time, even with the Egg boosting your ability to learn. They tie together everything the undead thing has been teaching you about shaping the bizarre energy coursing through your body, of controlling it, and most importantly, of NOT letting it control you. Hours pass, but at the end of a series of hair-pullingly tough exercises, you chant the words... more or less... and produce a gout of flame from your hands."Well done," the skull rasps. "An energetic, if unfortunately clumsy casting of a flame cantrip. Congratulations, Wild Mage.">Alex is now a Wild Mage, and can learn and cast arcane spells as Wild Magic. He only starts with a simple cantrip to summon small flames from his fingers, useful if you ever run out of matches.
>>2008203Read the book of dragons and see if you can learn spells from it.
>>2008254You can learn spells from the book, but you are restricted in what you can use by the fact you are very much a novice mage and advanced spells are currently beyond you. As of now you can learn Flame Tongue, which will take 4 hours to learn, including egg bonus.
Pop that tab bro. The colors are great.
>>2008274Let's let learning then. Then try out our new magic with our staff.>>2008319We should save the magic tab to give to someone magicless unless your talking about something elsewhere.
>>2008336*elseI hate auto correct.
>>2008336By the time you finish learning your new spell it's early evening. Taking your magic staff in hand you channel the power through the arcane implement and attempting to summon a jet of flame...Roll a d100.
Rolled 80 (1d100)>>2008346
>>2008348You cast the spell successfully and feel a surge of power from the staff that both amplifies your control and effect of the spell. A gout of flame rolls from your hand towards the back of the warehouse, stretching at least a good twenty feet. You feel an odd sort of thrill run through you as you cast the magic, a high not unlike the adrenaline rush you got the other night while fighting. When you complete the spell however, you feel oddly drained... though the staff helps with that as well, slowly bolstering your energy.>As a Wild Mage, every time you cast a spell, you have to roll. The spell might be more effective or less effective, and certain side effects may occur.>The Fictorum Staff makes your spells more powerful, lessens the chance of Wild Magic side effects, and slowly regenerates your mana.
>>2008365What is our spellcasting limit, without considering staff regen?Emulate Professor Layton from Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. Finish the puzzle box. Gear up before sliding the very last piece, staff included.Time to yank a plot thread.
>>2008365Would the staff improve your shaping magic as well?
>>2008408An excellent point. Yes it would.>>2008404Without the staff you can cast a handful of simple spells per day. Around four or five.If you're opening the puzzle box, I'll have to start with that right after the vignette tomorrow. So that's it for tonight. Short session, but tomorrow's should be much longer.See everyone in about ten hours.
>>2008423Personally I think we should save the emulation and just open the puzzle normally.
>>2008434Save it for what, exactly? Between magic training and learning our first spell, its nearly evening as is, and if we don't emulate, it'll probably be nearly time for bed.
>>2008442I am not really sure what the puzzle might summon. It could summon something dangerous. I prefer having a trump card if thats the case.
>>2008457I think its supposed to summon US to whoever made the puzzle. We'll be fine as long as we gear up beforehand.
Updating delayed, new ETA is 1 hour.
definetly use emulate for the puzzle.we can just do most of the puzzle and not finish the last step til the next day if it'll make anon feel better.
>>2009718New thread is operational.>>2009890
