“…Johnny, have I met you before?” A curious Yukika asks you. The always smiling internet celebrity completely changes her demeanor. “I swear I’ve seen you before.”
“Uh? I don’t think so…” You don’t remember ever seeing her before today.
“That’s strange… Well, what do you two want to talk about?” Chewirton’s owner goes back to smiling again, as if nothing happened.
“Okay Johnny, go ahead – think of something! I did my part, now you do yours! Oh and this totally counts as my part of our little deal from before.” Scarlet responds with a mischievous grin on her face, while Yukika seems completely confused by everything. Scarlet is referring to the fact she promised you to present you to one of her friends. This shouldn’t count; you were totally going to meet Yukika without her help and not chicken out like a coward. Yeah, of course you were!

You came here for the dog, but her owner is the one who has an entity! Maybe it would be wise to befriend her.

How do you respond?

>”I want a date.” Panic response time.
>”So where do you think you know me from?” The easiest topic to go into without sounding like a weirdo.
>”So how did Chewy pull that trick on that video, the one where he somehow makes you levitate?” This is subtle enough, right?
>”This doesn’t count, Scarlet. Don’t try to be cheeky.” You’re not really interested in someone like Yukika, internet celebrities are always trouble.

I use the average (the mean) of all rolls minus the smallest rolled number (if there are more than 2 rolls) and success will depend on the difficulty I specify for the action or prompt.
Above 45 is a success in a normal roll. Above 65 is a success in a hard roll. The hardest rolls I won’t specify because I find it more fun if I don’t.

“Uhm… So where do you think you know me from?” A great icebreaker and a genuine question in this circumstance.
“I-I don’t really remember.” Yukika stutters. She seems ashamed of her ignorance; you wonder why she’s asking like this, it’s not really a big deal.
“We aren’t going to the same school so we should scratch that, no?” Scarlet tries to find a connection.
“What school you go to?” You ask Yukika.
“I go to Red Tulip’s.” Yukika responds. Maybe she saw you fighting Trent Figg, the bully?
“That’s Central District, right? You live there, Johnny?” Scarlet wonders.
“No, I don’t.” Central District is where the hospital is and where the attack happened. But Red Tulip is closer to your school than those 2 places, the district is gigantic.
“I guess it will remain a mystery!” Scarlet jests. She doesn't really care how serious this could potentially get.
“Maybe it was all my imagination…” Yukika continues watching how Amelia is being aggressively cuddled by a bunch of dogs. She doesn’t seem to be pleased with the idea of not knowing what is going on with you two.

Maybe if you’re lucky, you can give her a hint…

>”Maybe you saw me at the bombing?” She probably saw you amidst the chaos.
>”Maybe you saw at your school?” Maybe she saw your ass getting beat.
>”Maybe you saw me at the hospital?” You have been there a bunch of times.
>”Do you like clouds?” Maybe she’s the hobo? But that doesn’t make any sense at all. The hobo is taller than her. Right?

“Maybe... you saw me at the bombing?” Probably the only occasion you weren’t paying too much attention to everyone around you. Well, if you don’t count when you went back to help.
“You were there?!” Scarlet’s surprise almost made her jump. “Johnny, what the f?!”
“…I-I was just passing by.” You reply to a worried Scarlet. She saw you were fine Monday, what’s her deal?
“Yeah… maybe. I was there too.” Yukika finally remembers you.
“Yukika, you too?!” Scarlet keeps being surprised. “Why did none of you tell me?”
“I can’t really speak for Yukika, but I was completely fine so I didn’t think it was important.” You shrug dismissively. You don't exactly hate being close to danger like that, especially after you actually helped a few people at the time.
“I’m sorry…?” Yukika is lost for words. She probably didn’t think Scarlet was thinking of her as a friend.
“You both are terrible! You two owe me ice cream!” Scarlet gets jokingly mad. “Uh…?” A mysterious hand grabs Scarlet’s arm. It’s Amelia with a deadpan expression.
“You… Join me.” Amelia says in a creepy monotone voice, face unchanged. She’s all covered up in dog’s spittle and dog hairs. The dog hurricane of kindness is slowly following Amelia and is coming towards those two. Amelia aggressively drags Scarlet towards her, back into the fray.
“Wait! No! Gah…!?” The dog storm takes Scarlet and Amelia away from you two. Goodbye Scarlet, you were nice sometimes. Thanks to this weird incident, you two are in a good position to talk together about what happened.
“I remember now… You and another man were helping people just after the attack.” She stares at the ground below her feet in a little disbelief.
“Yeah, I did what I could.” A lot of people died regardless, so it's not a great accomplishment. But you did some good anyway.
“So, tell me, what’s the real reason you want to talk to me? I know you're hiding something.” She looks deadly serious.
She's wary of you already, that's a bad sign. You thought you were better at acting than that! But you need to respond now.

>”I know about your flame.” Cut to the chase already.
>”I want to know more about Chewy’s trick.” Don’t be blunt. Slowly gather information and try to keep up your facade.
>”I’m not hiding anything. What makes you say that?” So rude! And it’s true; Philonune IS floating in front of you. She just can't see him.

“Hmm…” You think your answer as you watch your sister and Scarlet being dragged around by a bunch of dogs in a storm of cuteness. It’s mesmerizing, like a fluffy car crash in slow motion. “I know about your flame.” You cut to the chase, and say this with your side turned to her, so you see her out of the corner of your eye just in case.
“…!” She’s surprised but doesn’t move away from you. Instead she slowly moves her hand towards her elbow, where her flame is.
“I know it’s on your elbow.” You try to act cool despite being real close to fighting. “Don’t do it.”
“…You came here prepared, right? Let’s talk.” Yukika keeps her cool as well. She probably thinks she’s already beaten; maybe talking it out is the only option she sees as feasible. “Is your intention to kill me, or something?” Her hands are trembling.

What do you respond?

>”What…? Killing you? Why? No, that’s stupid. Let’s become friends!” The more the merrier, right?!
>”Before I do anything I want to know why you decided to join this war.” There is no point if her flame is part of Chernobog’s team.
>"Let's move to a quieter place. I just want to talk." Even though there's a lot of people here, anyone could be a flame user.

“Before I do anything I want to know why you decided to join this war.” You want the truth - that's what you came here for, right? Not for Amelia to have fun with cute dogs?
“What happens if you don’t like my answer…?” She evades the question, raising an eyebrow.
“Sorry, I’m the one asking questions here. Please answer me sincerely.” You say as politely as you are able to. You don’t want her to get out of control or anything.
“You must have a selfish reason to, right? Nobody is perfect, you know?” Yukika is trying to manipulate you out of the question.
“Is that your answer…?” You ask.
“…” She remains silent.
“Yukika, please. I gotta know whose side you're on. This is serious.”
“You know, being the queen of the world doesn’t sound so bad.” She finally answers you, her voice sounded distorted for a second. “Is that good enough for you?” She says it a little too intensely than she should.
“That’s it?” You are unimpressed. You've actually fought bad guys before, this isn't too intimidating in comparison.
“W-what? Yours can’t be that different, you hypocrite.” She sounds pissed, but her expression doesn’t change. She's trying to keep up appearances.

“I supposed your flame is not on Chernobog’s side…”
“What’s that?” She doesn’t know what you are talking about. “Anyway. My partner doesn’t talk to me anymore, so I don’t know.” What? That doesn't make any sense.
I guess appearances are deceiving; Yukika does seem to have a darker side to her…

What do you do?

>”What kind of dumb response is that? You can’t be this stupid, come on.” Mock her.
>Tell her you two need to leave to a quieter place. Time to get rid of her flame.

“…What kind of dumb response is that? You can’t be this stupid, come on.” Even you have to admit, this is getting ridiculous.
“Bah, I knew you wouldn’t like my answer.” She doesn’t care at all. “But it’s the truth.”
“I guess… Can’t believe I’m asking after that “Rule the World”, but why exactly is he not talking to you?”
“Because I told him to stop bossing me around. These demons are incredibly sensitive and they don’t know their place. We’re the ones who have full control of them after all.” She says, her voice dripping with disdain. She once again sounded distorted. It wasn’t your imagination before - something is seriously wrong with this girl.
"Have you considered that you're not fulfilling your part of the bargain? And have you considered that having a partner that won't help you is a major liability, in a world where there's a terrorist cell leader as a flame user? Even I know that ruling the world is going to be futile, unless you have people who are willing to work with you, to help you with what you want. And the easiest way to do that is to give them what they want or help them to get it. The saying 'You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours' exists for a reason, everyone knows that!” You're not exactly the lecturing type, but wow is she being stubborn.
“Ngh…! I didn’t know that…” Is she for real…? Her flame is acting extremely weird, increasing and decreasing sizes rapidly. “But it doesn’t matter! I told you I’m the one in control. In fact I think ‘yours’ is trying to take advantage of you. They are a bunch of filthy fucking liars, believe me – I’m royalty!”In the final stretch Yukika’s voice only sounded distorted. She realizes what is happening and covers her mouth.

“You mind explaining that? Cuz I'd really like an explanation right about now.” You stare at her intensively, as Philonune's flame draws closer to the summoning point on your body.
“I-I wish I knew what happened.” She starts looking worried as her flame stabilizes. This doesn't escape your notice.

>”Do you feel in control? You said your flame isn't talking to you, but that's not what I'm seeing here.” Act condescending.
>Enough talk. Take her to Constance, time to get rid of her flame. Any longer and it might get worse.
>”Are you okay? I think you need to sit down for a bit.” Try to be emphatic. Maybe you set off whatever her flame is doing to her, calming down should help, right?

“Do you feel in control? You said your flame isn’t talking to you, but that’s not what I’m seeing here.” You say in a smarmy condescending manner. You aren’t sure if this is going to help, but her obliviousness is starting to piss you off.
You think that little twerp can control me…?! It’s that what you’re suggesting?! Know your fucking place, you worthless peasant.” She once again covers her mouth, she’s sweating and her flame is getting out of control again. “I… I… No… I don’t want to die… Please… You’re a good guy, you helped people! People like you should get the hell out of my way… No… Not again… I’m fucked!” Yukika is looking paler and paler as her flame keeps getting bigger and bigger! Her flame starts covering her whole body too! Her partner must be tired of her shit, and your pompous attitude must have triggered its ire.
Unexpectedly she decides to run away from you… If tripping and crawling away counts as that! It’s sad; this is just an emotional response from a brat that knows no better. Somehow, no one has noticed it – I guess the dog tornado is extremely interesting and amusing to everyone here.

Yukika is trying to escape towards the park’s back exit! Usually nobody uses it because most of the time that way is closed. You think she’s running away out of desperation, so she shouldn’t have a plan, but who knows? She knows the park better than you do.

What do you do?

Yukika finally stands up and starts running away, and you decide to follow her; you can’t have any type of fight in front of a crowd. At least, you hope it won’t become a fight… You have Philonune ready just in case.

The chase isn’t much of a chase; you’re letting Yukika run away at a safe distance from you. Her flame is increasing in size and now it’s covering most of the right side of her body.
Quickly you two find yourselves in front of the back exit gate, but obviously it’s closed! And that means no one is close by to witness anything they shouldn't - you don’t know for how long though.

“Get away from MEeeEeEEe!” She yelps like a little coward. There is nowhere for her to run.
“Yukika, calm do—” But then she interrupts you.
Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP! You never had a plan! You tricked me, you ass!!
“I never said I had one. But I do.” Getting her to Constance would a good one right about now.
“[Blue]FUCK OFF!!” Her flame finally covers her whole body! I guess the time to talk this out is completely over!

The dark flame starts growing in size and slowly transforms into a bigger monster that’s coming out of Yukika’s arm…! Well, you didn’t expect this shit when you came to a park full of dogs! You bring Philonune out and it seems it’s time to fight!

United by force instead of love…. That’s how royalty operates! Now DIE!” The bizarre creature says in a grandiose voice like something out of a theater stage play. You don't think you can reach Yukika through her flame possessing her this strongly. And more importantly, how the hell are you going to deal with this…?

What do you do? (Please roll as you vote.)

You have been a bad brother long enough to know how to not fuck up this one! First you invoke Philonune and second you move to a safe distance from the spider-queen-bee like monster. Now you take your phone out and dial Amelia's number.

"Now you're IGNORING ME!?" Yukika's entity sounds offended. You'd laugh at how they said it with that ridiculous posh accent, if you weren't in danger of dying anytime soon.
The monster extends one of her arms and violently moves it towards you like some kind of fallen tree log! It may be big, but its not that fast; you successfully dodge her attack by crouching! She almost made you drop your cellphone but she was unsuccessful. Anyway time to make the call:

"Amelia! Giant spider flame monster! Park back exit! Need help! Yukika's possessed!" You yell almost in an incoherent manner.
"Ah?!" Amelia shouts.
"Park, back exit, NOW!" You tell her again, as you turn to prepare for the next attack coming your way.
"G-got it!" She hangs up. Hopefully shell get here soon.

As soon as the call ends, the creature throws another slow monster-like bitch slap with its foreleg! With Philonunes aid you successfully defend yourself. He grabs the monster's arm and throws it off to the side, using its momentum and destabilizing her.

"STOP THIS INSOLENCE!" She cries out in anger as she comically loses her balance, waving a few of her other legs wildly in the air as she falls over to the ground. This somehow also causes the smaller part of her still being conjured from Yukika's body to be raised up above the ground like one end of a seesaw. To anyone else, it would look like Yukika is floating a meter in midair at a 45 degree angle, the arm the deity is coming from facing the ground.

What do you do now that you have the advantage?!

For a demon monster this is kind of pathetic, time for a direct attack to break her legs or something even though Yukika is not a good girl by any means, you still don't want to kill her. You quickly get closer to her with Philonune.

"AAAARGH!" It growls trying to strike fear into your resolve. When a hobo with a giant snake coming out of his mouth is more threating to you, you know she's no big deal. Time to get rid of this rich bitch. Philonune elbows the body of the spider creature with all his might. Yukika loudly shrieks in pain! She must be hurt from the partner sync. Out of nowhere, the spider moves her multiple arms and traps you in a grip! The spider stands up with a "got ya!" look on her face as she holds you in the air. You're in trouble

But from the sky, you hear a cute and absolutely non-threating roar! In between some trees Amelia and Saraswati appear flying using the smirking cloud, and are coming extremely fast towards you! They both have serious looks on their faces! Wait, she can fly? That shit's not fair! You'll definitely have to try that with Philonune later.

"Now Saraswati!" Amelia screams a very vague order!
"Understood!" Saraswati throws a cartoony lightning bolt towards the spider creature! It mildly electrocutes it! What the fuck is happening? You feel a bit of the shock too, going from her to you. It hurts, but only barely. Actually feels kinda good despite the injuries you still have.

"That barely worked!" You yell to them. At least you could have pretended to sound hurt to be convincing. Oh well.
"Your puny attacks are NOTHING!" . Yukika's spider entity moves one of her left forelegs to where her mouth would be and bobs up and down, laughing in a high and mighty queen's voice. Even Yukika's possessed body puts her left hand to her mouth, doing the same! It feels really weird hearing both of them laugh at the same time.
You utilize this distraction to have Philonune cut one of her arms with his lighting spear! You manage to break free and stylishly land on the ground And by stylishly I mean you fell flat on your bum. Good thing the spider is not really that high off the ground.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" That one had to hurt. The arm evaporates into black smoke.
"Were here, Johnny!" Amelia exclaims like you didn't already figure it out from their entrance.
"Good. Now let's get rid of that." You point towards the spider monster, attempting to pull itself up and failing.
"Uhm How?" Amelia ponders cluelessly. That's your Amelia.

A 2v1 should be easy, right? I mean Barry the Hobo was nothing to be scared of, once Osgood started to help you. This shouldn't be any different.

"Let me on the cloud; let's deliver the final blow together." You said to Amelia as you get near her.
"Yup!" Amelia nods aggressively! She looks incredibly excited to do this! "S-should we yell out a one-liner something? It's our all-out attack!"
"Eh... Maybe next time. I don't know what to say exactly." I mean, who really cares, right?
"Uh... Okay. Sarawasti, let's go!"

You hop on board and rapidly the four of you go towards the enemy spider. With Philonune's spear and Saraswatis claws you cleave into your prey together in an incredible combination move! The spider monster is cut in half and evaporates as she cries out in agonizing pain! A screech so loud you wonder how no one has noticed what just happened.
All that's left is a very pale Yukika with a sad excuse of a flame on her elbow. She definitely needs medical attention after the indirect beating she took from the sync.

"What do we do with her?" Amelia asks as you check on her. Shes breathing, albeit slowly.

As soon as you're checking on her, you hear people approaching! This can't be good. Between the people, Chewirton the dog appears. He gets closer to Yukika, staring at her without much care.
"W-what happened?" A worried Scarlet says as she approaches the fallen Yukika. "Tell me what happened right now!" She barks out, turning to you with eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"She suddenly collapsed while we were chatting! We need to get her to a hospital..." Amelia lies convincingly. You're somewhat proud. For some odd reason, Chewirton starts peeing on Yukika's shoes; he couldnt give less of a shit about his owner.
"Chewy! Stop that!" Scarlet says to the uncaring dog.
"We need to get her to the hospital quick!" One random member of the crowd says. One tall guy starts carrying Yukika.
"Get her in my car!" A concerned old lady says.

Maybe it's a good opportunity for you to say something...

>"There's a clinic nearby! I'll give you the address!" Direct them towards Calamity's Clinic. Not a lie, it really is that close to here.

"There's a clinic nearby! I'll give you the address!" You tell the old lady. You direct them to Calamity's clinic! They are going to relieve you from the hassle of transporting her to that place, and more importantly, to Constance. The old lady, the tall man, and one of Yukika's friends who you didn't pay attention at all, Chewirton, and some dogs leave towards Calamity's clinic in a large car. How the hell can all of them fit in one car?! But honestly, while you don't care what happens to Yukika, you don't want to feel responsible for yet another death.

"Is she going to be fine...?" A concerned Amelia asks you. It's just dawned on her what just transpired.
"I dont know! Why...? Why Yukika...?" Scarlet is a mess. She's crying like nobody's business, you almost feel the need to console her. Before you could even decide if you're capable of doing it, Scarlet starts crying on your shoulder. You and Amelia pat her on the back.

Slowly, the group dismisses as you still hold your classmate in the most uncomfortable hug you've ever had. I's only uncomfortable due to the shitty situation, but otherwise you still feel good inside for doing this like some hero would. With Scarlet attached to you, you need a way to get yourself out of this... You have stuff to do, especially after that battle.

What do you do?

>"Let's buy you some ice cream, so you can feel a little bit better." At least she likes cheap ice cream so it shouldnt be a problem, for both you and your wallet.
>"Let's get to the clinic. We need to make sure Yukika is fine." And take whats left of her flame too, if her deity hasn't learned from that beatdown.
>"Scarlet, I don't want to be rude, but Amelia and I need to go home. You know, the curfew and stuff. We can walk you home if you want." Be reasonable, but also be an asshole. Yukika is not going to wake up anytime soon, so you can leave it to Calamity for now.

"Y-you dont have to" Scarlet says while tears keep falling on her face. "I-I'm sorry for being such a mess."
"I want you to feel a little bit better, thats what friends are for. Let's go, you too Amelia." Amelia slowly nods still concerned about what just happened.

Jackey Frosties is way too far for you to make a trip and come back before the curfew starts; you decided to buy ice cream in a nearby fast food restaurant. Amelia didnt want ice cream, but Scarlet ended up eating for the 3 of you. Terry is right; shes going to get fat if she keeps eating like this. To be honest you shouldn't blame her for depressingly eating after what just happened to one of her friends.

"Youre the best, Johnny." Scarlet is dumbfounded by your kindness as she stuffs her face with more ice cream. Let me scratch that! You two are the best. She headpats Amelia, who seems to enjoy it.
"Hehe! Im glad my brother has nice friends like you!" Amelia replies.
"Me? Nice? Im not. I dont deserve any of this, even though Im super pretty. At least not from you two." Scarlet gets real for no reason.
"So youre going to pay for it?" You jest with a deadpan look. Scarlet stares at you betrayed. Amelia starts laughing.
"He always does that! He thinks he's funny!" Amelia destroys your joke as she happily tries to make Scarlet forget what happened before. I guess you will end up paying for all of it anyway.

The conversation between the three goes on in good fun. In the middle of it, you remember Osgood asked you to send Scarlet the dreaded pic thats going to destroy whats left of Scarlet's fragile happiness You know this is the worst timing ever for something like this. But eventually it will have to be done.

You decided to cut short your killing spree and not show her the heartbreaking picture. After a good while you two part ways with Scarlet at the station. Your classmate seems to appreciate you more and more as a friend, she also exchanged numbers with Amelia. You have no idea what this duo could end up doing in the future; you need to prepare for the worst. Scarlet leaves after giving you two a heartfelt hug.

"How are you holding up?" Amelia asks you, you had a fight after all, but the monster did almost nothing to you.
"Im fine." You shake off your head a little to show it. Amelia seems relieved.
"Do you really think Yukika will be fine?" Your sister continues to be troubled by what you two did to her.
"Doctor Calamity is a professional; of course shes going to be fine." Thats what you think, at least.
"Yes! Your boss knows what to do!" She tries to convince herself of the fact. "Now what we should do? We have a little time before the curfew starts." Amelia checks her clock.

There is no way, shape or form that Yukika will wake up anytime soon. If you want to talk to her you should wait at least a day or two, but maybe it would be a good idea if you get rid of her flame immediately and dont worry about her ever again - you know for sure shes not up to no good.

"Ehm Let's not risk it, we should go home." Maybe your favorite Hobo not named Barry is there.
"You read my mind! We need a long rest after what we went through!" Amelia made up her mind. She's probably more stressed by the fact she fought another human being than the fight itself.

In front of your apartment building, you found your little hobo - she is pretty much in the same state as she was before you gave her food yesterday, staring at the sky silently while looking like a maniac. The little food container you made for her is on her hands with the food intact. You wonder what happened; at least you know Craig tried.

"Johnny, I'm too tired" Amelia's eyes are half open; she's trying her best not to lose balance. "Can I go inside? I know you want to talk to her, but I don't think I can resist much longer" She yawns. Amelia spent all day studying and playing with dogs, of course she's tired.

Is it really safe to talk to a crazy hobo by yourself?

“Of course you can go, you deserve it. You did a great job today.” You compliment your little sister as you headpat her. She was a really good girl today.
“…Ehehe.” An exhausted Amelia happily simpers as her eyes slowly close. “Ah...! I’ll see you later, be careful Johnny…” She shakes off before leaving you behind. Amelia has your father’s apartment key copy so you don’t have to worry about being left out.

You get closer to the hobo girl.

“Ehm… Hi?” You’re unsure how exactly deal with her.
“Glasses…? Johnny? Johnny!” It seems she finally notices you. She stands up with the food container on her hands. “You promised me food!” She’s excited.
“Yeah, that’s why I asked my landlord to give you that.” You point to the container she’s holding.
“This is yours…?” She seems confused as she investigates her cold meal. “But you didn’t give it to me, another man did. I just want to eat your food.”
“…I said I asked my—” She puts the open food container next to your face interrupting you.
“This is cold. It’s not like yesterday, you didn’t make it.” She seems let down, of course it’s cold! Hours have passed since you prepared it. “You promised me food. FOOD!” She yells.

>”Watch your manners. Give me that thing and I’ll bring you food.” Take the food and microwave it.
>”Come on, I’ll prepare you a nice meal at my apartment.” Invite her over and prepare her something quickly.

“Calm down first…!” She shuts her mouth and angrily stares at you with her food on hand. “Follow me; I’ll prepare you a nice meal at my apartment.”
“Y-yes!” She gets next to you and grabs your t-shirt. Maybe she thinks you’re going to leave her or something.

You open up the door and hobo girl enters before you do, she jumps on your couch. You'll have to wash it later...

“Uhm… Do you do that often?” You wonder.
“Lalalala!” She completely ignores you. You are thinking this wasn’t that good of an idea.
“Hey, I asked you a question.” How rude of her.
“More food, fewer questions!” she flaps her legs.
“Don’t yell; my sister is sleeping.” You plea.
“Aye…” She replies as she stares at the ceiling.

You quickly prepare a meal for the girl. As soon this is cooked, you bring it to her.

“Here…” You hand her a fork too. For some reason she elegantly uses it to eat. “Well, that’s different.” You're somewhat impressed.
“Yes, but its good!” She thinks you were referring to the food. She’s crying again.
“…Uhm, do you always cry when you eat?”
“No! It just reminded me of something.” She smiles.
“Reminded you of what?”
“Something!” She keeps eating.

“Uhm… Just what’s your name?” You ask Hobogirl.
“…Ah? Me?” She stops eating and points at herself.
“Yes you. Who else?”
“I don’t know...” She goes back to eating.
“…I don’t want to keep calling you hobo girl.”
“Then call me friend.” She says shrugging.
“That’s too generic.”
“Then call me wife.” She says shrugging, but you see her gaze flick to you briefly, then back to her food.
“W-we’re not in a relationship.” That caught you off guard.
“Then call me Nariko.” Is that really her name? It’s kind of a weird one.
“Is that really your name?”
“Yes. At least I think so.” She hands you back her empty plate. She didn’t ask for more this time.
“Cool; we’re making progress, Nariko.” You reply to her. She puts a hand on her hat and pulls it down over her eyes. Seems embarrassed by her name for some reason.

After leaving the plate in the kitchen sink, you turn the TV on and keep talking to Nariko, sitting across from her on a chair.

“Okay, I don’t want to sound rude, but what’s wrong with you? You need help? Have you looked for a homeless shelter to stay in?” She must be, right? Otherwise wouldn't the curfew have caught her?
“The man in blue takes me to one every night.” She holds her hat apprehensively in her hands.
“You mean the police?”
“Uhm… Yeah.” Slowly, she’s acting more normal. Maybe the food is starting to get her brain working.
“Okay, but what’s wrong with you?” You didn’t get your answer before.
“I don’t know…” She seems to be struggling to remember anything. “I want to go…” She’s starting to look terrified, and her eyes are darting all around the room, as if she's just noticing things that you aren't...

>”Nariko, I want to help you.” Maybe you should show her something to jog her memory, if at all.
>”Do you like being homeless?” Slowly persuade her to cooperate.

“Okay, tomorrow same time. I’ll give you more food.” You don’t want to force her to do anything.
“Really…?!” Her eyes start sparkling. “Thank you. Thank you. Thank y—” But you interrupt her before she does that again.
“That’s enough, Nariko. Remember, my sister is sleeping.” You appease her before she gets out of control like yesterday. “Before you leave, I’m going to pack you some food for a snack later. Okay?” Hopefully you won’t run out of food soon. Doesn't matter too much since you know of a market within walking distance.
“Yes! Thank you, Johnny...” She murmurs with a smile on her face. It looks like an expression she never had for a long time, and is still getting used to doing again.

With the promise made, Nariko leaves the apartment, off to who knows where. You hope for her to come back tomorrow safely. Poor girl… Leaving more aware of everything outside is going to terrify her in the long run.

20 minutes have passed since the hobo girl left the apartment, and you hear someone knocking the door… Who could it be? Maybe Nariko got terrified and decided to come back? You open the door and to your surprise, no one is here! There is a box on the welcome rug, it’s from Uccelli; maybe it’s the clothes you requested yesterday for Nariko. You look around and notice Uccelli going down the stairs…

You wonder why she is leaving, maybe you can stop her…

With the box in hand you chase after Uccelli! Maybe she made a mistake and thought you weren’t here. After all you told her you were going to the park, and she knows you'd be here by now.

“Wait!” You nervously shout hoping to not miss her. The moment Uccelli hears you she stops, then quickly starts going faster down the stairs! Even though you have this box in hand, you’re still faster than her. Good thing you got your Athletics up! “Uccelli, what’s wrong?!” You finally caught up to her.
“Sorry Johnny… I need to leave, the curfew will start any moment now…” Uccelli doesn’t turn around and replies with a very convincing answer, its 8:40 pm after all. But there is something iffy about this, she can’t get home in 20 minutes – It was almost a 30 minute ride from her apartment to Calamity’s clinic last time. Plus her voice was oddly monotone.
“But I don’t think you can get there on time…” You question her. There is something else that’s bothering you here…
“I’m staying at my friend’s house today…” She finally turns around and you finally get it; she reeks of alcohol. You thought she was a coffee kind of gal. Guess she needs a drink every now and then, with the teaching job and all this demonic warfare going on.
“…Are you drunk?” You ask as bluntly as you possibly can.
“I’m perfectly fine! My friend made me drink a can, but she’s the one who ended up wasted – her boyfriend dumped her. Besides I don’t really like how it tastes...” It’s like she expected to answer this question from someone. “…And more importantly I don’t want one of my students to think I’m a drunk.” She gets mad at herself for putting herself in this position. She also sounds a lot more annoyed than usual, probably the alcohol.

An embarrassed Uccelli doesn’t want you to see her like this; you think she’s pretending to be fine so you leave her be. It’s pretty pathetic for a teacher to be in this kind of situation though so maybe you should let this go… But it’s late, and the curfew is going to start anytime soon… Is she really going to make it all the way home drunk? That's too risky!

What do you do?

>Leave her be. You don’t want her to get mad at you. Besides, she probably knows the way well.
>Invite her over. It’s dangerous to be out now and even more if you’re drunk! You’ll have to sleep on the couch today, but it's a small price to pay for her safety.
>Go with her to her friend’s house. It’s the only way you can make sure she will be fine.
>Write In.

Not gonna lie, I just wanna see what her friend is like. Besides we've got at least 4 more ranks before these kind of shenanigans.

“Uhm… I don’t care if you’re drunk. What I care about is your safety. You’re going to stay at my apartment today, and nothing you say is gonna change my mind.” You respond to her, mimicking her teacher voice back at her.
“Mr. Ando, I understand you’re worried about me, but I’m perfectly fine.” She gets annoyed with your response as she staggers a bit.
“You don’t need to act tough in front of me. Stop being stubborn and follow me inside.”
“But what about Carmella? She needs me.”
“You can call her later.”
“But where am I going to sleep?”
“My bed, I’ll sleep on the couch.”
“B-But I don’t have any spare clothes with me…” You show her the box with a mischievous grin on your face. “B-bu-bu-but—!”
“No more buts. You more than anyone else should understand that you’re putting yourself at risk for nothing. Look at my face; this is what happens when you’re too prideful. Besides, I owe you one.”
“Fine… You won.” She’s defeated. Sweet!
“It’s not about that. Let’s go…”

You two get inside your apartment, Uccelli sits on the couch as she dials her friend on the phone.

“Your couch smells funny…” Uccelli says while holding her phone on her ear. It seems her friend Carmella isn’t answering. “She probably passed out.” Uccelli sounds worried.
“Not much we can do now. We'll call her early in the morning if you want.” It’s 9 pm. The curfew just started. “Want to eat something?” You ask Uccelli as you head over to the kitchen.
“I prefer going to bed as soon as possible.” She says while waving a hand. Your teacher wants this nightmare to be over. “I left some pretty clothes in here for your friend. Too bad I’m going to have to use them tomorrow.” She sighs.
“That’s what you get for being kind-hearted, I guess.” You hand her a glass of water.
“T-thanks…” She didn’t really want one but takes a sip anyway. Should help her a little.
“Well, well, well!” You hear Amelia say in a pompous sarcastic manner, though it loses all glory since she’s wearing her pajamas. “So who do we have here...?” She's smirking now, just great.
“Amelia…?” Uccelli seems genuinely happy to see her. “It’s nice to see you he—“
“Stop! I’m the one talking here, woman!” Amelia folds her arms under her chest and stands up straight in the smuggest pose you've ever seen her do.
“Woman…?” Uccelli is utterly confused.
“Amelia, what the hell are you doing?” You feel second-hand embarrassment from this. Its slightly more painful than your lessening injuries.
“I don’t want her here! She’s a coward and she hasn’t apologized!” …What in the world is she talking about?

Sadly this strange confrontation is going to be concluded in the next thread! Thanks for playing and see you next time!

First thread here and I don't know if you've changed it since the first thread but I thinking using averages for rolls is kind of a terrible idea. ALOT of margin for error in that way, but besides that I love this quest and I love our teacher and her poofy hair.

Three cheers for poofy hair!
