So, I'm guessing I'm pretty much stuck here in Da'ta along with everyone else who was playing the game before....whatever happened happened. Guess there's worse places to be, at least I know what to expect from it even if most of what I can expect from it is kind of shitty. But at least I'm not blind or a complete stranger to this setting. Now I might be being a defeatist here but unlike some of those dumbass who haven't even tried to enjoy themselves with their new powers since this has happened, I am pretty damn sure this is all real and while that is pretty terrifying, you being stuck in a world were something like the taint is hanging around, but hey! I have magic so that's something positive at least right? Hell I'd argue that is well worth the risk of turning into a horrible monster cause I forget to brush my teeth or some shit!

Smiling wider, I lean forward and pull my knees closer to my chest as I look out on the littler valley sitting around my "master"s tower. Butterflies, birds and those weird flying snakes that nest around this area fill the pale blue sky, as the clouds swirl around the towers top. Its all really beautiful now that its real....I will admit I didn't spend much time actually looking at the world I was wrecking but this is, really a calming sight I think. Really I'm not sure why me and Black and the weeb I to I guess are the only ones who aren't being little bitches too scared to walk down a flight of stairs cause we might break our necks. Like come on! we're in a hole new world and you've all be hiding in the tavern since we got here a day or two ago....can't remember how long I slept last night to be honest, and since I dreamed I'm pretty sure this isn't one unless this is some inception bullshit.

Besides all the former NPCs are far to real for this to be....well just a glitch like some retards have been trying to convince the other newbie idiots of. At least the Alchemist knows what's up, even if he's still hiding in that cupboard like a bitch but that's what he gets for making a weak character like that! Should've known something like this would've happened!

Chuckling at my own internal sarcasm I slowly stand up, my tail still feeling weird behind me as I stretch out my back and grin. Well if I've been given a new life as Belua Pangolynn, fighting mage extraordinaire! I might as well live it to the fullest, cause I have magic and a body that's both awesome and easy on the eyes unlike my last character. Hell I didn't even change my looks much in the swap over to Da'ta! I mean sure I look pretty different from my old body, being a beast kin and all but that's an upgrade! I have natural armor!

"Yeah yeah, this is going to be alright, fun even" I say to myself, putting my hands on my hips "don't have to worry about cow monsters eating me in my sleep anymore, solved that problem and"
I pause, looking down at my boots as I remember what happened on that godforsaken ranch, people died and I saw stuff that looked like it came out of a horror movie. Really don't like thinking about it, its just all too fucked up to really want to think about and it makes me feel guilty because I got those people killed. But...but if I didn't bring them I doubt me, Black, Steven and weeb would've survived.

that ranch has, and always will be a bullshit thing to have in a low level zone. I'm just glad the shade of sin went down so easily. Yeah, come on that's in the past, and they were happy to be matyr's right? Still won't make me feel better but I hate moping around! Sure this world is worse than earth in many ways, but its so much more exciting and cool! My possibilities are endless now, I can't waste them all being scared, sad or whatever else.

Sure Cornibus would let me mooch of him if I said I had a change of heart

"But fuck that" I cackle, thinking out loud as I swish my tail around, sparks flying between my fingers as I rub them together "I have magic! I'm in a world with a lot of cool shit, I should explore, see what's changed, appreciate the world and have some fun! See which of my old bases are still standing. Learn some funner, more impressive magic and enjoy myself. Sure there will be trouble sad..."

I pause, biting my own tongue. Yeah don't want Erret or that crazy alchemist teacher down stairs to think I'm possessed or something.

"Belua! the world is my oyster I just need to go out and enjoy it some" I say with a grin, flicking a but of my hair out of my face as the guilt begins to wash over me again, dammit it was necessary! but thinking that over and over won't make it...

"Master?" erret asks, from behind me "Your lunch is ready, if you want to come inside, its rather cold out today"

Yeah we should get rid of those now before they start swarming, but hey, free target/sword practice with Errat! There are worse ways to spend an afternoon.

Could be possible. The game can be working normally, and the upgrade is meant to transition generations, while only a few minutes pass by outside. It would leave a lot of players mad for being tricked like that though. Best prank ever.

Guess, my money idea won't cut it. Oh well, could be useful to disguise some goblins while we slowly grow our forces to deal with shit down the road. Though hopefully we won't need to do such for towns that like us.
>>
"Did you hear what I was saying just now?" I ask, feeling myself blush as I look back to my pale, and kind of creepy servant, her milkly, glazed over eyes looking back at me with a bit of confusion than amusement

"the oyster bit....are we planning on leaving soon?" She asks a little hopefully "Were are we going to go, my master?"

"I don't really know, where do you want to go?" I ask as she smiles and opens her mouth, then stops, her split black tongue sticking up before she closes her pale lips and looks at me in shock, lifting up her scarf

"I...I don't know" She says quietly "I've never looked at a map, and I don't know much about the world but....I'd like to go some place warm or at least with people as kind as you master"

"Well, I'll let you decide when you figure it out, don't want to drag you along where you don't want to go" I say smiling happily as she wraps her hands together in front of herself.

"Thank you, my master" She says bowing slightly "But please come back inside, your sandwiches are going to get cold, and the grandmaster gets angry when we leave the door open in the season"

"You really work hard don't you, always looking after me....you do a good job as well" I ask as I follow he back inside, as she smiles like I just gave her a cookie or something "

"Oh I don't need no praise" She says, her eyes filling with stars as she pulls her hood over her head "Serving you is enough"

You know, she is pretty cute even if she's kind of creepy. I smile as she pulls the chairs out on the table, a plate of sandwiches made of expensive looking bread sit on it cut into circles and....and what are they exactly they don't look....normal?

"Erret? what kind of sandwiches are these?" I ask as I tug on her bleached robe

"Oh you're favorite" She says dully "Candied spiders, cranberry and apple sauce, a dousing of strong vinegar, melted goat cheese and left over bacon from breakfast"

My hand drags down her back, making her stiffen up as I'm sure all the color drains from my face?

"Candied spiders?" I ask slowly, trying not to sound as disgusted as I feel

"YES, the recipe cornibus gave me, the same ones you have as snacks when you study into the night" She says, smiling for just a second as my stomach lurches

"Hey want to go for a walk real quick? I Can tell you about some places you might want to go" I say, grabbing her gloved hand as she frowns

"After you eat, you need your energy my master! and a special treat after your holy deeds at the farm" She says with an innocent smile as my smile falls and I try to keep it up, tears filling my eye as she pulls away from my hand and grabs one of the devil sandwiches "I'm sorry if this is too decadent or sinful for you know, I just...I just wanted to give you a treat since you've seemed"

She bites her tongue and mumbles something with "Wasn't your fault" in it.

then she cracks a small weird smile and hands me the sandwich

Smiling a fake grin she stands there proudly as I manage to say "You shouldn't have....you really shouldn't" and I bite into it and

Why.....why does this actually taste good!? what's wrong with this bodies tongue! Why do I like this so much. no no no no noooooo"

"Ah you're crying, is it that good master?'She asks innocently as I try to forget what's in my mouth right now or the fact I've finished the sandwich already "I'm...I'm sorry if it was bad"

"No its...it was wonderful, better than usual' I choke out "I'll have the rest later, pack them up if you can cause I'd like to go on that walk now, when its still nice outside"

"Of course my master" She says with a bow as I swear something crawls on my tongue. She walks out of the small room to grab a bag or something, her robes swaying over the stone floor as I turn away, holding my stomach

Alright, where did I leave those zombies. I know some are deep in the woods, by the river, and I know I put quite a few around the town with the nice people in it....also think I left some by those ruined houses.

But how many got cleaned up? How many aren't surrounded by horrible horrible things?

"But don't you want another?" She asks as I turn away and walk as quickly as I can

"I uh don't want to spoil myself" I say with the best smile I can, trying to scrape the taste off my tongue and forget that it somehow wasn't....how it actually tasted.

"Oh I see...." She says almost sadly as she follows me out of the tower with the bag of devil sandwiches "Also the grandmaster said if you needed further work he may be of help"

"The old man seems to treat me like a daughter more and more" I say, frowning as Erret nods

"Mayhaps because he has no children himself?" She says "I does favour you it would seem, even though you watch over a thing like"

"Don't start on that erret, you're a good girl even if you're tainted, now come on" I say happily "lets walk for awhile and figure out where we're going, boring stuff like work can wait later, lets plan, enjoy ourselves for awhile"

Before we have to crush a bunch of walking corpses I set up to kill newbies....good times but no longer cause they may eat innocent people or kids

"As you wish, so" She says as we begin to walk down the jagged road towards the road leading into the forest and then toward Carolton "My master what places do you think I'd enjoy going to?"

"Well the coast is always nice, I know you've never been there, and if you didn't hate the cold so much I'd suggest we head to the towns in the north.....Know you'd hate the living swamp, maybe" I say slowly "Well we'll figure the specifics of it out later to be, there's so many in toladar to be seen! but you'll get the first choice okay"

"You do not need to be so kind" She says as we begin to walk down the dusty cobblestone road broken up by old tree roots "I'll follow you anywhere....but I'd like to at least be warm and hopefully remote"

"Well if you could be more specific I could tell you where you'd like to go" I laugh, ruffling her hood as she turns away and thinks

"I don't need much, but I don't like being around people besides you, my master....or anything that's too scary" She says a little meekly as I can see the wooden walls of the town in the distance, one of the town guards sitting on the top of it

"OI LADY PANGOLYNN IS APPROACHING" He shouts, cupping his hand around his mouth as he turns around "Along with her beast"

Erret hides her face as I glare at the country bumpkin

"No, just going on a walk" I angrily say as I turn into the thin forest around the town "Don't get everyone excited over me"

"Eh?Gathering herbs and flowers then? well keep your little phantom from touching those graves out there ya here?" He says "I know she's your helper but....can't trust them tainted you know"

"Master please don't get mad" Erret says, frowning as I glare back the man....bet i could bean him with my hammer from here

"I just don't like people treating you like trash" I say, grumbling as I look around for any of the "corpse mines" I planted myself

"Tainted spread corruption and sordid affairs even if they don't wish to" She says flatly "It will happen eventually, all of us become monsters or worse....even cutting myself on a knife would bring some ruin to these folk....but thank you master, you are too kind to one such as myself"

Makes me want to kick that guy on the wall in the balls, and give poor erret some candy. Still at least she's happy following me....even if I made her the way she is.

Right, I hid them under the trees where all the regents and such spawn. They're a bit deeper in, not just right outside of the town. Since that'd be a little idiotic to leave them around to get stomped on by the guards/hordes of starting players. When you want to mess with zombies you put it some place remote and a place where there's a lot of death. So I put them by the graveyard to. Thankfully those two places are right next to eachother or...crap no that's bad I'll have to fight more zombies that way won't I! Shit.

Erret remains silent, following by my side and looking around as we walk deeper into the forest, fatter trees towering above us. There's barely any light down here now, just a few pin pricks of it that can get through all of the leaves above my head. Yeah, its getting a little creepy now, fog is rolling in not sure from where...but it probably has to do with those corpses. Know there used to be effects when a lot of under were gathered in one place.

"I smell taint, Lady Belua" Erret says, speaking up "Something terrible is here, maybe we should turn back?"

"No" I say sternly before I figure out what I need to say "its out duty as magicians to protect those who do not share our art"

"My magic isn't an art" She shaking her head "its a terrible thing"

"Well it helped you save me didn't it?" I say, making her smile and nod

"Well, maybe it can be useful at times" She says bashfully, managing to smile a bit as she holds her scythe out and I pull my demon fang blade free.

Yeah, I know this place. Four zombie dogs hidden under the roots and two normal ones with spears and tower shields to cover the way back to lock any poor sod in...are they still here though?

"The ground here has turned foul, the air is tinted with rot" Erret says, standing in front of me holding her hand out "....its like my magic....is there another necromancer around here? OH I get it! you knew there was and wanted to banish their darkness without worrying or risking anymore of the farmers!"

I smile painfully, yeah there was not too long ago but.

"You really are perceptive" I say, walking in front of her "But let me lead and"

The smell of wet rotting flesh and fur hits my like a wall, and I pull my sword free from its sheath and raise my shield arm to protect myself but nothing throws itself at me which is real strange cause these guys were set to hyper aggression.

And then I see the roots, they're burned up and covered in ashes, a few bones sticking out of the pile. But there's a problem, a farmer wouldn't be able to deal with these, nor woud the guards.

and all the players are pussies so....so something else did all this

"oh? master?" Errert asks "are you alright? is this some kind of ritual you know of?"

"Erret, where do you sense the dead?" I ask quietly as she frowns and closes her eyes for a second for two, biting her lip as she shakes her head and mouths "I don't want to look" "Please? you want need to look for long"

Her brow furrows and her two braids lift up into the air as she winces in pain, black veins bulging around her eyes for a second before they spread down her face and give her the look of a skeleton for just a second or two. Then her eyes shoot open, every ounce of blackness filling them as what looks like a hundred tiny hands crawl over her eyes for a second as some color returns to them as the shadows fall into her pupils which go wide for a second.

Falling forward, I grab her before she hits the ground. Okay what the fuck happened just now? That....okay yeah no wonder she didn't want to do that.

"I saw them master, lost souls and rotting ones" She pants, sounding out of breath already "The old grave yard, I can see them....and deeper in there are traces of them, a trail leading to, what? More?I saw more there but the trail was burned and cleansed"

"Thank you, you can stay here and rest if you want to" I say softly "or we can wait to catch your breath"

"I am fine master, I follow you" She says calmly as she can, her voice shaking "I will not stay in a place like this alone, nor will I leave you alone"

"So we're continuing on then?" I ask as I begin to walk ahead of her

"Of course, my master" She says with a dull smile on her face, following right behind me with her scythe resting on her shoulder. And the story is the same the further we walk in, ashes hidden off the side of the road, some old bones here and there, and none of the equipment I left with them. It wouldn't have burned up since most of it was metal, so someone must've took it. But then things get weirder, cut trees and broken branches. Clearings with ashes scattered through them and torches hidden on tree branches with the leaves all torn out.

Some one's been living out here.

"Master, I see the dead" Erret says, as her pupils widen to fill her eyes again "they're close, up the road"

She turns pointing her hand towards a path cut through some white leaved black berry bushes and....and I see something that wasn't there last time I came through here. Smoke, fire, walls rising up between the trees. The old stone walls repaired and painted to better fit in with the forests colors.

Stepping behind a tree, I peek around and barely make out figures moving out on top of the walls before I press my back against the tree to hide. I can hear voice, laughing and music.

"I smell sin on the air" Erret shudders, chattering her teeth as she shakes

"Just stay where you are, I need to get a better look" I say, pulling my red pack back around, lifting up its copper top and reaching inside of it. Pulling my googly eye goggles free, I quickly put them on and peek around the tree again and hope no one on the wall is looking my way.

Alright there doesn't seem to be anything to special on whoever's patrolling the wall or the thing itself but I can get a pretty good look at from here. Wooden spikes and spears are sticking our around the top, on the edge of the walkways built up there, probably to keep people or things from climbing up it. There's a watch tower to my right, I can't get a better look at it without getting seen, so that's bad. Leaning back from my hiding place, I can see a bright red flag hanging on the sides of one of the old stone walls, of a man's skull slowly merging into that of a wolf's....both sides with rather wicked looking fangs. Its pretty edgy looking to be honest especially since the bones are black. I think there are two on the part of the wall I can see.

Erret stays by myside, not looking herself or saying a word, almost looking like a doll. Ignoring her for now, I look back around, and get a pretty good look at the guy patrolling the walkway. He's dressed in some cheap looking armor, doesn't look like is made out of metal...besides the weird hat he's wearing. And now that I've looked up I can see the sin Erret was talking about, its hanging over it like a black cloud and

and

WAIT A SECOND, DO I SEE MY ZOMBIES RIGHT NOW! HAVE THEY PUT THEM IN CAGES!? WHAT FUCK THAT'S STEAL....that's just wrong. I shake my head and look back right as the man walks back out of my view. Looks like he's wearing a scarf or bandana with a skull painted on it.

"That....that is a sad sight, how many of them were raised!" Erret gasps, looking disgusted as we stay on the edge of the clearing looking at the shambling mob inside of the silver fenced graveyard "Who could've done such a thing? Do you think it was a person with magic like mine? or is this natural? Master which do you think it is"

"Can't know for sure" I say, shrugging as I lie and walk forward with her walking by my side closely like a guard dog "does it really matter? we need to just deal with them before they or whoever made them if anyone, uses them for evil, so come on and stop worrying about the specifics"

"Oh course my master" She says bowing her head as she trots up to my side, as I get within a few yards of the fence line "Clearly I am worrying too much but don't you think we should get more hands? it doesn't seem wise to me, to face this many with only two of us"

"Oh, well that's were you come in my sweet little Erret" I say with my trade mark trollish grin, squinting my eyes as she takes a step back

"Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling master" She whimpers as I put a hand on her shoulder

"Oh don't worry, you aren't in danger, I just want you to try to control a few of them okay?" I say with a smirk a she nods slowly

"May I ask why?" She asks quietly as I nod "Why?"

"Oh they can be useful, they may smell a lot but they can rip eachother apart, do work or help with our other problems in some way or another" I say quickly as Erret frowns

"Do I have to?" She asks, pouting "I don't like having to work my magic to disturb people's rightful rest"

"Trust me its for the greater good, and we'll put them to sleep again when we're done with them" I say as she nods

"As you wish Master, but we will put them to rest properly once our work is done, right?" She asks looking back at me "I know you wouldn't lie but....I just need a bit of courage from your words you see"

"Of course we will, and if it starts to hurt you in someway you can stop" I say crossing my arms as she raises her scythe and walks up to the gate, making a motion like she's going to swing it down as white faces and black smoke gather along its rusted edge

She swings it down, and suddenly hands form where the edge of her farm tool passe through. With a great whoosing sound they fly out and begin to grab onto the heads and hearts of the wandering corpses and even a few of the misty figures just wondering along

"You can do it Erret, just take control of them! thin out the herd about and make them fight, I believe in you! you can do it! just push them towards each other and have them put each other to rest...oh make sure the ones you're not controlling get put to rest first, alright?" I say quickly as she looks back to me and nods, lifting her scythe up as the silent monsters turn to her, their eyes turned a pitch black just like the veins peeking out from under her gloves.

"I...I'll try, I've never moved this many before" She says, trying her best not to smile as she lowers her head and starts to move her scythe like she's conducting a choir just without any flair or excitement to it "and the magic pulling them is...is stronger than mine but I WILL TRY"

"TRY! NO YOU WILL DO IT, I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT, DON"T UNDERSELL YOURSELF, JUST DO IT! I KNOW YOU CAN, MAKE THEM CLEAN THEMSELVES UP, YOU'RE AMAZING ENOUGH TO PULL IT OFF! AS MUCH AS YOU HATE YOUR MAGIC I KNOW YOU CAN USE IT WELL" I yell encourgianly as i can as she lowers her head more and with a low groaning roar the undead begin to turn to each other, lifting up their ruined farm equipment and clawed hands as they fall upon their motionless and uncontrolled kin. And I can't help but squeal with joy as it turns into a massive brawl, as a few of the controlled shadows or ghosts are whatever they fall into the first dead being attacked to hold them back with their own muscles as they get hacked apart.

With a carrying shriek the other undead try to fight back against Erret's zombies but they move with a unified purpose, like butchers at work

"Oh that's so cool! look at that its like a riot! oh this is awesome and so are you come on keep moving them" I yell happily as I see one gets its head torn off and punted towards another, as two get impaled by spears their holders then pulled down and torn apart before they get trampled by the skeletal body of a horse and

/Who is intruding upon my army? who dares to take my hand away from the bodies I have lawfully stolen and taken hold of the strings that pull their rotted forms forward? WHO DARES TO WALK UPON MY WORK?\

What...wait what? everything begins to slow down as center of the graveyard begins to fills a dark shadow that's pulling in from all of the fallen corpses and broken pieces of the undead, gathering up into a vaguely feminine figure that's raising her hand up into the air as all thoughts run out of my head in the moment that builds up to feel like it last for a fucking hour. the first one that comes back is what the godamn fuck, but then I realize something I created these zombies with a few debuffs in case somebody tried to use the control undead feature of reavers to deal with them. And a mind control rage that....ah crap. Without thinking I push erret out of the shadows eyes, as her hand clenches into a fist as it the rest of it blows away on the cold autumn wind. I feel something pressing against my mind and push against it myself, laughing as I bite my tongue and look at the brawl still going on as Erret finally yells in surprise as she hits the ground with a quiet thud that I can barely over here over the moaning. the rage building in me fades as I laugh and clap my hands together, barely able to contain my excitment at watching the mindless brawl in front of me like a monument to chaos itself and.

"AH GOD!" I yelp covering my ears as Erret rushes over to me and looks me over, somehow not having bleeding ears from the loud shrieking that's flying out of the graveyard

"Master! you didn't need to risk yourself to protect me, I would be fine, are you alright, oh no no no" She scolds me, whimpering with worry looking me over as she sighs in relief "Oh it didn't hurt you did it? I see no wounds but....well you're a little could"

"A little curse like that won't do a thing to me" I say with a smug smirk as I stand up and lean against erret as she holds me up "Still that was....well it wasn't a welcome surprise was it? Kind of bullshit actually"

"Master should we leave? this place might have more nasty secrets like that" Erret says tugging on my arm, sticking out her split tongue as she looks at the renaming walking dead

what do I do?

[] leave and head to the town

It'd probably be really disrespectful to burn down the graveyard and we just got a bunch of the townsfolk killed, best not to push them any further. Also I;m not sure how close the treeline is.
>>
"No we're going to burn this place to the ground" I groan, shaking my head as Erret looks at me with a frown "it'd be the easiest way to deal with all this but....well it wouldn't be respectful would it"

She just shakes her head as I sigh and tap my cool sword against the edge of my sword, watching the few zombies she's still controlling getting ripped apart by the others ones that she isn't, as she's stopped moving hers around and making them fight

"Well guess I'll have to deal with the rest of them myself then, no simple way out like fire is there" I say, frowning as I begin to head towards the open, broken gate hanging off its hinges, doesn't seem like any of them are coming any closer to us right now.....can they even get out of the fence? Don't know to be entirely honest.....still it'd make a good little choke point to lure them to wouldn't it?

And we'll end here
sorry for the short thread but I am getting tired and don't think I'd do combat well.
Sorry for the long wait as well, next thread will be a properly long one AND I might run another session in this thread in a day or two.

See you then if I do

Also I've archived and will answer any questions

Nighty-night.
Any post for how the unchosen are doing right now?
>>

Isabella is having some fun and may or may not be delving places she shouldn't
Judith is fretting about her son and looking for him
Damian is glad he's away from his mother and chuuning it up
Marcus has been capture by goblins who like his voice
Thomas is staring at a waterfall/lake combo he drew up with child like glee

And sadie is about to fight zombies/bandits oh wait
>>
>>1968212
How sad, only Izzy and Tom are doing anything amazing by the systems standerd. And it would be hilarious if Minorminer was Marcus, but I doubt it since they seemed like some corporate minion than an independent.
>>
>>1968262
I have some interesting things planned for all of them.

Especially for Belua/Sadie, which will happen soon....maybe very soon
>>
>>1968286
I'm guessing the dragoon guy will show up.

Would be nice if the other anons accepted getting knighted, the first step of having a legal troop as well as open up places that we wouldn't be able to go to as a subject.
>>
>>1968320
Or it could be we gathered the militia again, though we really need a doctor or an alchemist who's not the elf.

So why did the guy make an elf alchemist? I don't think magic points is really needed for it.

Higher learning

>>1968320
And I do have plans for a knight, not saying which of them though.

I don't think Thas would get along with Belua/Sadie well
>>
>>1968386
That would have been useful a few days ago. Shame he didn't get to send himself better items. Really would have made it worthwhile to pk him.

>Thas
Yeah, but that's pretty much all of the players who are not stuck behind the wall.
