Last we left off we had just defeated Sneaky
Stabba and his ork horde on Auriok Primaris, killing the greenskins, despite them holing up in an impressive hidden canyon hideout.....

The planet had gone over to the Separatists before the greenskins attacked, and the human slaves your liberated had joined the Separatist cause and are technically speaking, traitors of the Imperium, what should be done with them?

They number around 15,000, as several thousand died during the liberation....

A. Grant clemency, and offer to take them with you
B. Grant clemency and leave them on their wartorn world
C. Take them prisoner and sentence them to hard labor on Tarkon IV
D. Liquidate them, using a few well placed orbital strikes

You decide to grant clemency, and take the ones who are interested in joining you back to Tarkon IV, however they have been asked to give you oaths of loyalty, and will be kept under close scrutiny by your security forces, although the freed slaves seem to view you and your forces favorably at the moment....

There is also a large stockpile of mining equipment and raw materials, as well as scrap metal and other useful things on the planet....

A Take everything we can carry on our ships
B. Leave the stockpile be

You decide to have everything that can be loaded, placed upon the ships...

Finally, with the world now basically emptied of all human life, and the orks eliminated, should we attempt to claim the world for ourselves?

We could set up a fortified outpost and slowly restart mining operations, however, this world takes roughly 3 weeks in the warp to reach from Tarkon IV, putting in a fair distance away, we will likely need to post warships here to prevent it from being taken back by the Separatists

A. Set up an outpost(must choose how many regiments to garrison there)

You decide to leave the mining equipment you couldnt fit on your ships and a few months rations with the survivors that wanted to stay, giving them a small chance of survival....

Deciding its not worth it try to hold Auriok Primaris for now, you leave the world, with the surviving slaves that elected to stay on with you, swearing oaths of loyalty...The new arrivals will be be settled in a new mining area, in the far north of the world, less than 100 miles south of where the Ogryn are living, not the easiest place to live, but they can put their skills to use there and be kept apart from the general population, a useful thing for security monitoring, where people can easily be spotted by orbital pictographs and aerial flyovers if they are coming and going from the isolated mining settlement....

The ships arrive back to Tarkon with great fanfare, as you organize a victory parade and a day of Feasting to celebrate...

Unfortunately there is a high butcher's bill to pay for the campaign on Auriok Primaris...

3rd Ranger Regiment out of 1000 men, 185 wounded, half of them unable to serve again, due to crippling physical and psychological wounds, with another 236 dead, most of their losses taken in the opening ambushes of the first major ork counter attack and then the assault and infiltration of the canyon base....

The 1st Airborne took the highest casualties, due to being forced to make multiple aerial assaults against enemy forces, and unable to deliver vehicles and heavy weapons quickly using aerial support, they often fight as a light infantry force, making them highly vulnerable to vehicle attacks and heavy bombardments, they have 396 wounded, although less than 100 men were badly wounded enough that they cannot be combat troops again with another 317 among the dead.....

The 2nd Mechanized regiment, fared the best, although several vehicles were lost to Kommando ambushes, the chimeras often burning their unfortunate occupants alive as struck vehicles have the tendency to catch fire when their armor is penetrated the parts of the metal armor are known to melt after a few minutes of exposure to the prometheum flames, sometimes sealing the door to the troop carpentment, with the hinges melting over...

Although the nature of most of their deaths is fairly gruesome they took the lowest casualties overall, which is also partially due to armored companies making up a significant part of the regiment composition, providing the regiment the most punch, of all your forces...

They took 128 wounded, with 90 of them unable to perform combat roles again, as well as 98 dead.....

It will take a few years of recruiting and training to rebuild your losses to three of your elite regiments that fought in the campaign, who are all now veteran units, if they weren't already
>>
>>1960183
With your attention no longer focused on the campaign, you can focus on domestic matters once more, as a key item comes to your attention....

Your capital city, which ought be named properly, has grown considerably since you founded it in the first year of your rule, with many of the hivers, refugees and natives making up its population, with the town first drawing in the locals with quality trade goods and a higher standard of living, with over a million Tarkonian natives, mostly Serathi moving to the Capital from the countryside, in addition to the over 5 million other inhabitants with another 5 hundred thousand people staying in humanitarian settlements and shanty towns outside, mostly recent refugees and immigrants...

It makes up a significant percentage of your tax base, and managing the city's population has grown to be a major job, with you unable to focus enough time to properly manage it, you have decide to appoint a mayor to manage it...

A. Have your brother Karl Franz, brought in to be mayor, as he has proven himself succesfully running the lumber yard, and seems to mostly to have put his entitled, party boy lifestyle and alcoholism behind him
B. Appoint one of your military officers to run the city(Choose one)
C. Bring in a local Nobleman to run it(will be presented options)
D. Have a administrative official promoted and appointed to the position
E. Set up a ruling city council elected for and by the high ranking members of the community

You decide your brother would make a fine new mayor of the Capitol City(Needs name)....

You assign him control of the city, which puts him in charge of enforcing its laws, collecting taxes and dispensing justice, you also assign him 6 regiments of garrison troops, along with a new commander, to command in defense of the city and the surrounding area, and give him a chance to gain some military skills...

You have him over for dinner and give him the good news, along with showing him a large penthouse, in one of the new highrises just finished in your capital city, with local businesses funding and doing the labor along with prefabricated structural parts, dozens of large modern buildings have been built, while still not very pretty to look at, they provide relatively low cost living spaces for people, with a few luxury towers being built, for the upper classes and your own personal use....

You sense some resentment when you are speaking to your younger brother, who still must have some lingering anger regarding me inheriting Tarkon IV over him, although you were always considered more responsible and mature than your brother....

He seems more happy though after you tell him the responsibilities and perks of the role, which would give him a better standard of living than when he was a spoiled prince....

He quickly returns home to gather his personal effects as you assign several administrative officials to work under him, and to also keep you informed of how things are going.....
>>
>>1960455
A thriving economy has been established, with more modern goods being sold and distributed to the rest of the planet from the Capital, its only real competition being the several other small settlements you have created, with most of the native population retaining their culture and lifestyle, although more modern changes are creeping into it, as food is much more plentiful on the world and many feudal landholders have switched from food production to planting cash crops, mainly frenzine. Food is much cheaper for the peasants due to the supplies created by the extremely productive and advanced plantations and farms we have set up, with factory like organization and efficiency combined with much more advanced agricultural equipment

Serfdom is restrictive and brutal as practiced by your feudal lords, with serfs having minimal rights, to leave the land and no political rights, with beatings, torture and summary execution being legal ways to treat your serfs, with most of them relegated to being uneducated sharecroppers, being forced to pay rent to their landlord, in the form of a large percentage of their crop....

In addition to serfdom, slavery is still an institution pervasive through the more rural and distant lands away from your directly ruled settlements, keeping people in bondage against their will, while forced labor can be effective in the short term, it leads to an uneducated, unskilled workforce that is poorly motivated and has low morale....

However changing the policys and laws on these issues can have unintended consequences as well as a powerful backlash from the native nobility, who see ruling as a natural right....

A. Abolish the practices immediately
B. Prepare a long term reform to phase the practices out
C. Leave things be for the time being

You decide to try to phase out the practices long term, slowly restricting the right to own slaves and serfs, and improving the treatment of the slaves and the serfs as slaveowners are slowly but surely bought out of their workers one small area at a time....

As Edge of Tomorrow returns from the Corean Crusade you finally receive official news of the Inquisition-led campaign against the separatists with several worlds reclaimed, Unfortunately, a half dozen worlds in the one of the northern parts of Segmentum Pacificus, now cut off by the warp storms have come out as worshipping the ruinous powers of chaos, overthrowing the local governors and joining forces with a small army of blood pact chaos troops and reportedly, Alpha Legion forces supporting them....

Captain Ronson, the captain who helms the ships gives his best intepretation of what happened, and believes that the casualties taking back the separatist worlds were extremely high, with nearly half of the regiments that are part of the Corean depleted already....

The main Crusade fleet has also apparently struggled to bring the a major Separatist fleet to battle, being too numerous for the loyalists to risk splitting up their fleet, and have suffered from cut supply lines, as the Separatists have focused on attacking merchant shipping isolated small numbers of loyalist ships....

The Edge of Tommorow is due to return for operations in a few months, but has been given some time to rest the crew, replenish its stores and perform key repairs....

Your orders from Corean are still to hold the area, he has also thanked you for eliminating the greenskin threat, as fighting and suppressing Xenos threats is critical to maintaining control of the region....

Nearly a year passes, as you continue to develop your world, the first year of your brother's stint as mayor has been a success, with new refugees being succesfully settled on Tarkon IV and Rorscha, with the recovering population up to almost 5 million people, who have repopulated several key cities....
>>
>>1960553
During the year you were able to get one major task accomplished....

A. Build most of a new Capital ship at your new medium shipyard, around the skeleton of the old chaos battlecruiser you crippled when it came out of the warp rift(choose type and role)
B. Established a mining colony on Tarkon V, with a several large freighters loaded up with colony supplies and mining equipment, and providing salvageable materials to build the first few structures as the settlement is developed....
C. Focus on settling and developing the heartlands, in the continental interior of the landmasses of your world, which are often underdeveloped and sparsely populated, with few towns or cities of note
D. Develop a new manufactory for the construction of Leman Russ tanks, Chimeras and civilian vehicles, such as a home grown utility truck design, based loosely off the greenskin vehicles your men have fought against, able to carry large heavy loads, while remaining rugged, and simple to build and other machines

Between the efforts of Xeroth, who recovered some design details from the archives on the local forge world, and the Rogue Traders, who were each given a list of items to be supplied, including void shield generators, engine components and weapons batteries....

You dont know how they acquired most of it, but you know better than to ask questions....

Unfortunately this cost you most of your income for the current year, as well as a loan extending several years into the future....

However soon will you have an overlord class Battlecruiser, a powerful warship and military asset, its cruiser speed, combined with Battleship grade weaponery, specialized for maximum firepower, with a strong long range capability....

Just knowledge of its presence in the area will deter any pirates or raiding fleets, who wish to get in and get out in quick strikes, as few warships can stand against it....

It however lacks the armor of a true battleship, and is somewhat poorly suited to slugging it out in long drawn out battles....

However it will be several months still before the ship can make its shakedown cruise, as several components are still being installed....
>>
>>1971049
Unfortunately in the closing stages of the ships construction you were notified that Xeroth has been recalled back to Vigil Primaris, the local forge world for additional training and education, while you aren't close to the enigmatic techpriest, he has remained a loyal and extremely useful ally, helping you with several secret projects and with modernizing the planet, he still seems to retain some of his humanity, particularly his ambitions and expanding his own power base.... He is extremely pleased when you tell him the contents of the transmission from the Adeptus Mechanicus, as he is likely being promoted, and will begin studying his speciality and learning more about the Omnissiah....

Before he leaves he agrees to set things up best he can for this assistants and your own people to take over(temporarily at least)

Before he leaves you decide to take him aside and ask him about what you he wants to specialize him, possibly pushing him towards a certain choice....

A. The Logi are expert staticians and mathematicians, skilled at predictions, forecasts and calculations, serving in many bureaucratic roles, and considered almost prophetic in their ability to tell the future, a good choice for a close advisor.....

B. The Genetors, master ancient life sciences, including biology and genetics, they are skilled doctors and scientists when it comes to anything organic, good for biological, medical and genetic projects....

C. The Artisans, mastering the art of production, controlling hordes of servitors and workers to mass produce items for the Forge Worlds, good for anyone looking for an advisor skilled in setting up and running factories, that make high tech items..... Some of them also are master level craftsmen, building rare components and some of the last craftsmen in the galaxy that can forge powerweapons and plasma weapons

You recommend he look into joining the ranks of the Artisans, as you could use a skilled manager and engineer to work for you....

It is also known that newly minted Magos, often are assigned resources, especially large numbers of servitors, both for combat and labor as well skitarii bodyguard forces, as well sometimes young techpriest underlings....

In unrelated news, you receive reports from your outpost on Iban Secundus that the Crusaders of Dorn and their gene cousins, the Graven Fists, the few survivors of the doomed abyssal crusade, have been building a fortified base on the surface, possibly a fortress Monastery....

While you have given them permission to recruit from your worlds, you did not agree to the Astartes claiming one of your worlds for themselves....

You should contact them, and ask them about their intentions....

You are also contacted by the rifter's, who have swelled in size, due to inflows of refugees and have become a successful settlement in their own right, despite being in a massive spacehulk with a large part sticking through the warp rift....

They claim that there is an unknown threat that was awakened by exploratory teams deep within the hulk, and that several hundred people have gone missing over the last few months, and are requesting military existence in identifying and eliminating the threat....

You decide to send a flotilla to Iban Secundus, both to recon the area and to make a show of force to the Astartes, that they are on our world due to your mercy and that they can be overpowered and destroyed at any time by your fleet, which could easily sweep aside the old Astartes Strike cruise that serves as their only warship.....

You, sitting on the bridge of the Hecate Class Cruiser, alongside the newly promoted Commodore Felix, a fitting thing, as he commands our fleet, which has grown from a single ship to a formidable flotilla in a little over a decade...

You are contacted at edge of sensor range by Chapter Mastern Arlen Donnelly, formerly Chaplain of the Crusaders of Dorn Chapter, who welcomes you to the system....

He tells you that his chapter's recruitment efforts are well under way, and that they have been focused on fortifying their outposts and recruiting new brothers....

He agrees to meet with your aboard the stateroom on the Absolution, which has been performing the dual roles of light carrier and command ship, being equipped with the best sensors and comms technology in the fleet....

It has also served to house the commodore as well as his staff, who have grown with young handpicked officers, who help to perform the endlessly demanding work of planning and managing a campaign in the void, tracking supply efforts, ship range, best jump points and other key details....

You try your best to look confident and imposing as the docking clamp engage and the telltale hiss and sudden silence as an airtight connection is made, despite knowing that you are likely to instill fear in an Astartes warrior...

You(and a large contingent of guards) escort the Chapter Master, one of his Captains and a Squad Sergeant, Foros Helxus, who is currently serving as Chapter Master of the Graven fists, who escaped with their cousins the Crusaders of Dorn, however the title means little as the chapter has been reduced to one 8 man Tactical Squad that managed to escape from the demon worlds...

You ask if they have any requests or need anything from you, right off the bat, a gesture of good faith....

"We could use some provisions and construction materials, as my men need to eat and our ships and vehicles need fuel" Says their Chapter Master....

You agree to send a cargo ship over, as its very small cost for an important gesture, and shift the conversation, talking about what they want to do about their Traitoris designation and the future of their chapters....

Eventually the question of a homeworld comes up, with you reiterating that you agreed to allow them to recruit there, but Iban Secundus is still under your rule....

The Chapter Master apologizes to you for any confusion regarding the construction of their base, and tells you that they merely mean to use it as a major outpost and temporary headquarters until they are allowed to settle a proper homeworld....

With the issue settled for now at least, the Chapter Master returns to his ship with this fellow Astartes in tow....

The 4 day journey to the Rift settlement is relatively uneventful as you look out one of the few windows aboard the Absolution as it transitions out of the warp back into realspace....

You see the Wrath of Manachea, and two cobras, materialize nearby as the rift settlement comes into view...

You are immediately hailed by the settlement by a man identifying himself as Commander Kran, who is charge of the settlement, which has grown immensely, likely from refugee inflows, with what appears to be a large shipyard and docking area carved into the side of the space hulk, bustling with small ships and people going about their business....

Your flotilla is met by two ships from the "Rift Settlement Defence Fleet" which are little more than 2 heavily modified freighters, although they are generating large power readings and seem to bristling with an odd collection of weapons, allowing them to at least render some serious blows in a short time.....

Your ships are contacted by a control center, which grants your permission to dock the Absolution and the rest of the Flotilla at the station....

You cross the docking ramp, in some of your finest regalia and with 20 guards in tow, with a company of 100 solar auxilia staying on board the ships as a quick reaction force.

You are met by the commander kran you spoke with and several armed guards wearing simple blue tunics and a red armband. They welcome you to the rift settlement and offer to give you a tour....

You decide to take the man's offer for now, although you may return to the station incognito later if you wish....

You follow Commander Kran as he shows you some of the residential areas and warehouses near the docks, which seemed to be bustling with people and filled with goods....

He does tell you however that the settlement, aside from some minor efforts, cannot produce its own food, and is dependent on constant freighter traffic bringing in food, trading it for scrap materials and ship components found in salvaging operations on the hulk in the surrounding area, with a large portion of the residents members of the transient communities living on small freighters and living off salvage on the edges of civilization, that have existed since the early days of the Imperium...

You notice that several of the denizens show signs of mutation, likely from warp exposure, as well as exposure to radiation and chemicals found in space around the ships that travel the void....

You are impressed by some of the construction efforts, with entire sections of the hulk completely pressurized and environmentally secured, allowing you to walk around without any kind of suit or breathing apparatus....

You are then brought to the shop district, where merchants seem to hawking all sorts of things, mostly scrap and salvage but with at least a few merchants that look like they are selling technology of xenos origin, although it could be a trick, as merchants are known to sometimes dress up common cheap trinkets and sell them as rare artifacts or xenotech.....

Finally he brings you to a series of fortified rooms, where he shows you an office, and what looks like a small military outpost, although it seems the local defense force, acts more as a police force than an actual military....

Kran tells you about the problem he has, with some sort of creature that either was awoken by salvage teams deep in the hulk, or that snuck in from the warp rift has killed several groups of salvagers, with many more people missing, likely from the same creature....

He has reached out for your help in slaying the beast....

He offers a salvaged Nova Cannon if we could provide some weapons and training for his men, as well as spare some of our troops to assist him in eliminating the threat....

You agree to help, having several veteran officers and troops stay behind along with a few hundred lasguns and shotguns, along with a few flamers to stay on and train the local security forces, which number only a few thousand, you will have a ship return in a month with several companies of troops, along with another small shipment of flak jackets, flak helms, and lasguns along with some rations and ammunition.....

You shake hands with Kran, and make your way back to the ship, the deal made...

You find little has changed when you return to Tarkon IV and you settle in to old routines, having meetings with your administrative staff and military officers, and going over some production reports....

You even find time to take Tarquin out for a walk and get some excercise....
>>
>>1975694
As you are making your way around the station hallways, you vaguely recognize a workman, feeling that you've seen him somewhere else, his height and large facial scar triggering memories....

You continue on your way, when you hear the rush of footsteps behind you, as the workmen sprints down the hallway at you, managing to juke two of your guards, leaving only Tarquin to protect you.... You brace yourself and loosen Tarquins leash, before the man unexpectedly bows before you just out of reach of Tarquins snarling jaws....

"My Lord, I would like to offer my services to you...." he says before being knocked down

Your guards quickly tackle him and subdue him, bringing him to a secure room for questioning...

They tell you that the prisoner keeps wanting to speak to you....

You, along with a pair of guards, go to visit the prisoner in a secured cell on the station....

As you open the door and walk in, the man's face lights up with hope, despite being under close guard by four of your men, and having his hands and feet chained to the chair hes sitting in, which is further bolted to the floor, requiring superhuman strength to escape....

"My Lord, my name is Rickard Senn, you saved me when you purchased me and set me free in the markets, I wish to serve you directly"

You ask the man what he could possibly offer you, and he tells you a story, difficult to believe, but for the sincerity and detailed nature of it....

He Identifies himself as a 4th Class Assassin of the Vindicare Temple, claiming he was betrayed by a rival low-ranking Assassin and framed as a heretic and traitor, able to evade his former comrades and Imperial Authorities, he smuggled himself aboard a freighter travelling towards the Imperium's eastern border and was able to steal a shuttle as it entered the Tarkon system, unfortunately he crash landed, and was injured, lacking food and medicine, he made his way to a settlement, where he was nursed back to health, and then enslaved by a group of slavers, after which he was marched to the markets, where you purchased him.....

After he was purchased and freed, your men assessed the freed slaves for their skills and knowledge, and having grown up near the great spaceports of Terra, he knew a few things about working on ships and other voidcraft....

Since gaining his freedom, he has decided to work for you, putting his true skills to work.....

A. Take him to Military base and let him show us what he can do, under guard of course

You have him brought down to the base, and under supervision of several guards, and alongside several of your best marksmen, has him show his skills with a standard issue sniper rifle, where he makes shots even your best men cannot, accurately shooting for several hundred yards further, and with higher consistency.....

This seems to prove his story, impressing your men and all the spectators around him....

After reading the report of his performance you have him return to the station for a dinner with him, to talk over his future.....

You give him the go-ahead along with some resources to start his own Assassin program, currently considered a part of your secret police forces. You also have dossiers of over a dozen candidates sent to his new office, where he can choose the members of his first class....

Despite the lack of the specialized equipment and wargear of the Vindicare temple, you are convinced that such a group could still be an effective tool for expanding your power and eliminating your enemies....

Things are fairly routine for next week, before you are notified that the task force due over to the Rift settlement has departed, along with more lasguns and flak armor sets....

You have a young rising Captain lead the force, made up of an amalmagation of your elite troops, with most of them being Solar Auxilia, your most skilled in ship boarding actions.....

You are updated several days later when they arrive, that they have found that the men you left there have given the Rift settlements defense force some rudimentary training, that will at least give them a chance, and that patrols deeper into the space hulk will be beginning shortly.....

You await updates every few days, and the first one is fairly mundane, with astropath passing on the sense of boredom, along with increasing dread, as while no signs of the beast has been found, your patrols have found several dozen dismembered corpses along with strange runes and signs made on the walls with their blood.....

It is after another update that contact with the creature is finally made, the sole survivor of the patrol describing an overwhelming scent of blood, and the dark red beast, with a massive horned head, wielding a massive sword cut down his squad sergeant and the rest of his squadmates in a less than 30 seconds, using unnatural strength and swiftness, wielding the massive blade with a great precision, your men's carapace armor offering little protection....
>>
>>1979386
The strange smells and aura of the creature have begun to illicit a sense of fear and a lack of confidence in even more most elite veteran troops....

Fortunately the training begins to win out, as much large patrols are deployed, partially manned by the local defenders, while your men, have decided to bring out, several melta and plasma guns, as lasrifles, flamers and shotguns have proven to ineffective against the warp beast's tough hide....

Using large groups of well armed troops, and auspex sensors, they are eventually able to surround the beast in an isolated corridor, gunning it down with diciplined repeated fire from dozens of men at once, unfortunately over 30 men are slain cornering in it, having little chance against the beast in close combat....

Another dozen suffered catastrophic wounds and are crippled for life, mostly losing limbs to the beast's massive blade.....

A sergeant of the 2nd Ranger Regiment has taken the beast's head for a trophy and plans to have it sit upon the wall of the unit's barracks back on Tarkon IV, and the men celebrate the slaying of the beast, with a small party and feast on the station, while a detail is organized to clean up the bodies and strange symbols written in blood.....

The deal done, after a few more days, your forces depart the settlement, with the Nova Cannon sitting in one of the Wrath of Manachea's storage bays...

The weapon, is effective at all ranges, although it is somewhat innacurate, firing a singular massive shell, able to cripple enemy capital ships in a single shot....

It will take a few weeks to get the weapon installed, and some rerouting of the ships power systems to utilize the massive weapon....

Things get back to normal for a few days, when you receive a report from your brother, Karl Franz, who is asking for assistance regarding issues with Deacon Abrams, who, alongside his students, some of whom that have graduated and entered various jobs in society, have formed an angry mob and have destroyed some property belonging to several Tarkonian lords, who are being targeted for their lack of piousness, which pales in comparison to that of Abrams and his followers....

Riot police have been deployed, but it may look bad to crack down on your most faithful, on the other hand, it will look bad to the natives if you side with Abrams, who want to keep their old ways....

Apparently the Deacon and his followers are insulted by those who do not worship the Emperor properly, and believe that one should attend worship every day of the week, as well as spending the 9th day in every 9 day week, to praise the Emperor and do his good works.....

Most of the natives, as well as some offworlders, shrugged off this extreme interpretation of the faith and continued there business, until several confrontations occured, culminating in the severe beating of a man who was preaching in the middle of a neighborhood populated by natives, telling them that their souls are damned if they do not start truly worshipping the Emperor, triggering the riots....

You send a message to the highest Ecclesiarchy authority in the region, the Cardinal World, Rivena IV, regarding guidance on this issue.....

To your surprise they respond very quickly and decisively, recalling Deacon Abrams and sending you a new Deacon, along with a contingent from the Missionania Galaxia to help integrate and adapt the more primitive locals into the faith....

Apparently Abrams will be sent to worlds recently reconquered from the separatists and heretics, and assist in "purifying" the local populations....

In the meantime, while you wait you have had Abrams detained and informed him of his upcoming transfer, while additional security forces are deployed to the streets to prevent any further confrontations, enforcing a strict curfew....

You also receive some good news as the the Nova Cannon has succesfully been wedded to your Battlecruiser, which is based on the designs of the Overlord class, being a high powered long range combatant, capable of speeds comparable to a cruiser, unfortunately the design is lacking in armor, a necessary sacrifice to maintain cruiser speed, but is armed like a Battleship and can easily destroy enemy ships at all ranges....

The final touches of the paint job are being put on, and its shakedown cruise is scheduled for early next week, but you will need to christen it with a name, a tradition dating back to the earliest ancestors on Terra....
>>
>>1982223
You are also informed that the Corean Crusade has finally won a major victory against a Separatist fleet in the Orian system, 2 months warp travel to your galactic west, in the heart of Separatist fleet, catching a dozen warships of the Republic of Man refueling and taking on provisions, at what they believed to be a secret base, little did they know that undercover agents reporting to the Inquisition revealed its location to the Loyalist forces, who managed to catch the Separatists unprepared, who's picket ship gave them only mere moments to prepare, leaving half of their ships destroyed, a few escaped, while a few more were captured at their moorings, unable to recall their crews in time.....

You also hear that the Edge of Tomorrow, gave a good accounting of itself, engaging and destroying a Separatist escort, while taking relatively light damage and casualties....
>>
>>1982244
You are alerted to a message from a most unexpected source, so important that Johann has required he visit and tell you personally....

You agree to meet him, as he arrives a day later, with a few documents from both Republic of Man as well as the People's Republic of Man, who have asked for you to sign a separate peace with them, withdraw your forces from the Corean Crusade, and open up trade with their worlds once again.....

In exchange they offer you several nearby systems(destroyed by war, or totally undeveloped) to add to your territory

Johann was told by their emissary to take it you, as he was offered a lesser, but similar offer and is widely viewed as being within your power block, although his fleet consists of one cruiser and an escort, and his PDF is fairly weak, making him a loyal ally, although of questionable usefulness.....

He tells you that they expected a response within a week, and that the Emissary would be returning around that time....

A. Tell him to destroy all evidence of the offer, and speak to no one of this, and to tell the emissary you reject the notion of a separate peace and truce with the Separatists
B. Tell him to give the documents to you, for your safekeeping and that you will think on this

Johann also believes that this offer has likely been made to many governors who could be seen to be on the fence of loyalty to the Imperium, with more than a few already pursuing independence and expanding their own domains, with the regions to your west enflamed in civil war, as pockets of loyalists, supported by the Corean Crusade fight off Separatists forces, from both the major factions and Independent worlds....

B. Build a underground bunker and tunnel system, based around your capital city, giving you an additional escape route if you are caught on the surface, and providing shelter for the Capitals population in the event of bombardment(-1TU)(first step in building an underground city)
C. The pastebin will be updated to reflect the change in income, as trade and business in general will increase on your planet, increasing the taxes you can collect

Things are going well the Ecclesiarchy party arrives to pick up Abrams and a few hundred of his retainers and most fanatical followers, and leaving you with a dozen missionaries, specializing in working with primitive cultures, who ask to be set up near the capital, so they can speak to our people and learn more about their ways, before ensuring that they see the light of the Emperor....
>>

The workmen are busy on the highway project, your economy is growing, but nationalist and religious tensions remain very manageable but potentially dangerous problems...

Then there are the reports of heresy, and traitor marine warbands, joining together with other twisted heretics and renegades and are currently making gains in the region....

average of 57.666 a moderate success

There are no signs of change until almost a month after the treatments, where 2 men, are rushed to the medical center, after collapsing, due to internal bleeding and dying later in the night, as the body rejects the genetic changes and begins tearing itself apart on the inside....

Another 2 had their immune system stop working, and both died with a few weeks from common diseases found in the world, simply from dealing with medical staff

Another 2 suffered mutations, and had their skin turn a pale, yellowish sickly color, as well as their falling out, they also sprouted small bony tails.....

The other 6 subjects seem to be doing ok, with the treatment being effective, granting them superior resilience, speed and strength, as well slightly improving their reaction times and making them slightly smarter. The senses of the modified soldiers have been improved as well, particularly their sight, smell and hearing....

Through detailed note keeping and analysis, several genetic markers are identified for conditions that cause the treatment to fail, rendering roughly 40% of the population unable to use it, without high risk of mutation or death.....

While this slims are recruiting pool for this project, it dramatically increases success, with Ishmael projecting success rates around 90%, assuming no problems crop up long term after the treatments....

Meanwhile you are left, looking to something to focus your attention on for the month.....

Thanks for running Shmeh

Not at all, i firmly believe in the usefulness of the institutions of slavery and serfdom.

>>1982866
Fuck off, the daughter of an influential noble is far more useful than getting us embroiled in the dangers of RT politics.

But slavery and serfdom are obsolete in the face of technological advancement. I won't try to free the slaves because it's wrong, this isn't really thexsetting for that, but from a purely logical standpoint slaves and serfs will eventually become more trouble than they're worth as the world advances and machinery, advancement, and improvement of life come into play. Even if we didnt raise a finger against it, as long as the populace get more educated and modernized then those systems will simply fade on their own. Unless of course you purposely keep them dumb and oppressed, siding with the old powers, but why would you do that when we get stronger with the dismantling and weakening of other powers on Tarkon means more power to us, the governor? Either way, I see no reason to force the system or force it out unless you simply want to speed up the progress.

Duh

Not everything has to be perfectly efficient to have fun. It is supposed to be a feudal world after all, and we're a blue blooded aristocrat. I wouldn't care if we'd been retired guard being granted a planet, or if it were say a lightly industrialized world.
>>
>>1986435
But that's purposely just hindering ourselves because you want to roleplay a stereotypical 40k dumbass nobleman when we've already shown that we're smarter, more ambitious, and not as much of a pompous asshat than the average blueblood that just spends his days drinking and spending his taxed funds on stupid useless crap while their planet just fends for itself. Why would we ever bother to force a system that we know will eventually become useless when we're
A) from a modernised hive world where slaves wouldn't exist
B) been trained to know how to properly run a goverment as a noble would, and clearly smart enough to use those lessions
It seems like you're trying to play with a medieval lord's mindset in what is still a far futuristic setting, which frankly makes no sense.
>>
>>1986435
This is dumb, we're actively trying to increase profit and productivity for ourselves. It's seen in almost every action we take on the planet and we've interacted with the people in ways that clearly show we don't look down on them like savages

>>1986477
Agreed

indeed

I think we should tie our anti slavery politics in to the Imperial truth in order to help convert them. We have a strong history of chaos ties on the planet that are incredibly worrying. These might be tied to existing institutions like lets say the nobility. Honestly at this point I kind of see the native culture as a liability and would work toward subtly dismantling it in order to maximize faith and make sure chaos can't take hold.

Even if the establishment has no ties to chaos anymore it usually finds its roots in the desperate and downtrodden making slaves and serfs a prime vector for contagion. For those who think these efforts are too noble for 40k they are mostly utilitarian and I'm still talking about cultural genocide.

Well, I hope Shmeh at least has the balls to take away the bonuses to martial traditions and force you fags to deal with the consequences of ripping society apart in the space of a single generation. Faggot ass muh efficiency autists finally got your way I guess.
>>
>>1996953
The fuck are you on about, we have try to make sure that doesnt happen. Like thats only reason its STILL feudal society
