Throughout numerous generations, your tribe has lived in this land. Monsters roam this land, and they control and shape this world. Some of these beasts use their claws and fangs to hunt prey, while some others can control fire, ice, and lightning. There are beasts that rule the sky, swooping down upon an unsuspecting tribesman, or spirits from beneath the earth that can crush rock as easily as it can move. It would seem that there is little hope for you and your tribe.

But not all is lost. You, as the leader of your tribe, have managed to befriend one of these creatures. If these beasts can be tamed, perhaps you can ascend past this stage of mere survival, and become a tribe that will stand the test of time.

Last thread, you cultivated farms, developed tools, and caught a multitude of beasts for your tribesmen. Your tribe also met the Silkfoot Tribe, who were revealed to be quite cooperative. After fighting off a Durant attack, your beasts, Dratini and Shroomish, have evolved into Dragonair and Breloom respectively.

And with that, let's get back to it.

Now that you had a pair of Miltank, it was time to look for suitable males. A herd of these beasts would prove to be invaluable in the future. After some deliberation, you decide to try and aquire some Tauros rather than Bouffalant. The speed of these monsters are superior to their counterparts, so you figure that they’d be a better fit.

You and several other tribesmen make your way to the Western Steppes. When you arrive, you see Tauros and Bouffalant fighting in the biggest clash you’ve ever seen. There are scores of them battling each other. In the center of it all, is the two largest specimens you’ve seen so far. A Tauros as tall as a man locks horns with a huge Bouffalant. It seems like a stalemate so far, and it feels like anyone’s game at this point. You lock eyes with the Alpha Tauros and decide to intervene.

You order your tribesmen to neutralize the Bouffalant. They look at you in confusion at first, but listen to your command. In even matches, a mere distraction is enough to give the fighting Tauros a win. A stab of the spear, a gust of wind, or a fling of a stone is all that is necessary to tip the scales. Occasionally, your hunters jump into battles where the Tauros are about to lose, to save them from imminent destruction. Once the Tauros begin winning their clashes, more and more Bouffalant begin losing. Eventually, the Alpha Tauros kills the Alpha Bouffalant with a decisive headbutt. You notice strange magic surrounding it as it impales the Bouffalant with its horns. Once the Alpha is defeated, the Bouffalant begin to retreat, leaving the territory and Miltank behind.

As the Bouffalant clear out, the Tauros begin celebrating, roaring and grunting in triumph. Most of the victors move to claim their prizes, but several Tauros, including the Alpha Tauros move towards your warriors. Your tribesmen prepare themselves for battle. You stand firm, staring down the Alpha Tauros. You and the Tauros holds this gaze for several moments, waiting to see who breaks it first. The leader of the beasts nods slightly, before bowing before you. It seems the Alpha holds some semblance of intelligence; honor, even. The rest of the Tauros follow suit. It’s then that you realize that these are the Tauros that your hunters had saved. They were losing their battles, but thanks to your timely intervention, it appears that they’re ready to join you.

You look towards Khull, who is quick to reassure you. The shaman points towards the herd. Another large, but younger Tauros seems to have taken charge. It seems this battle was going to be this Alpha’s final one. Now that you’ve saved it, it seems adamant on following you. A pair of Miltank follows behind them. It seems you’ve got quite the catch. As long as you can keep this Alpha’s respect, it seems that it is prepared to be with you and the Draak.

>The Alpha Tauros, two Tauros, and two Miltank have joined you! They can be assigned or designated as livestock.
>The Beastclash is over! With the Tauros victory, Tauros will be more common, and Bouffalant will be less common in the Western Steppes for this season.

With your new herd in tow, your tribesmen wastes no time in examining the clutch of Durant eggs. The majority of the actual work is left to Khull, who uses his knowledge of beasts to record relatively accurate information. The squirming larva inside of the eggs evokes a sense of disgust in many of your younger tribesmen. The shaman nods in understanding before turning to you.

“I see.” Khull says to you. “These eggs contain mostly male Durant, and these would grow to be the workers and soldiers of their colony.” He explains. “But this one is female.” The shaman points to the egg in question. “It would grow to be another queen. It explains as to why the Durant are so adamant in reclaiming this clutch.”

You count the number of eggs inside, and see six individual sacs. One queen and five workers. You could cultivate these eggs and develop your own colony of Durant, but they’ll need plenty of food and training to be useful. Plus, should you do this, it will definitely agitate the original Durant colony in the cavern depths. There’s also the option of destroying the eggs. Doing so would stop the attacks from the Durants, but it might also waste a good opportunity. You weigh your options and put them aside for now.

>Researched: Durant Eggs

You send your gatherers to continue mining copper. Khull also follows, using the guidance of his Sableye to detect ore deposits. Breaking apart the ore using Hard Stone tools is a relatively easy task, provided enough force is put into it. Your miners load the ore into baskets and prepare to leave, when the gem spirit points something out.

In an almost unnoticeable crevice is strange, reflective metal. Your workers begin to mine it, and find that it’s quite similar to copper. Perhaps you could do something with this.

Alright, same deal.
>Assign the two Miltanks to the remaining women. Alpha Tauros should probably come with us. The remaining two should go to warriors/hunters/anyone who needs a strong companion able to lift heavy weights.
>The Durants are also an opportunity. They're tough diggers, great to gather metal. But we'll need to expand our food sources to keep them fed. I say we keep them.
With that in mind, good actions could be :
>Develop Food Source : Mushrooms. With Breloom's help, we should be able to identify edible mushrooms. Hell, we could probably set up a primitive underground mushroom farm.
>Train with Alpha Tauros. Need to get acquainted with him. Might be useful to take everyone with a Tauros or a Miltank on a joint training session. Keeping the Tauros and Miltanks separate for now is also good, we don't want to spark a fight between our Tauros.
>Craft : Metal crafts. Stuff like jewelry, speartips, tools. Prioritize things that are immediatly useful
>>

I agree with this. I think it would be best to cultivate them and keep the Alpha Tauros for ourself, the other tauros should be used to breed the milktank, however.

i agree with handling the cows this way. But i support this plan for development instead. Enting the bronze age is/was a huge step in our history(matched only by iron age etc). tools would be huge, weapons and basic armors become a reality, even simple robust jewelry. Clay for pottery, and brick building would be wise as well. Infrastructure turn go.

You walk up to the Alpha Tauros. It’s almost as tall as you are. Its face and body is scarred from years of combat. The beast’s eyes seem tired, but it fills you with a sense of courage. The Tauros blinks at you. You figure that because you’re the beastmaster of this Tauros, you’re the Alpha now.

>Alpha Tauros was assigned to Vad

It’s then that you assign the remaining Miltank to the other two able women in the tribe. There’s Yana, who had only passed her Dragonmouth several weeks ago, and her sister, Vise. Both of them are gatherers who tend to the Cheri Berry farm. They also help deal with the occasional kill that your hunters return with.

>Miltanks were assigned to Yana and Vise

You then decide to designate the Tauros to some warriors who don’t already have beasts of their own. You give one to Ritan, who is the Ghaak’s apprentice in the arts of metalshaping. You then assign the other one to a man named Bholag. He’s a burly man who’s not too bright, but his strength and toughness are well-known. He mostly handles your mining operations, so you figure a beast of burden might help speed things along.

>Tauros were assigned to Ritan and Bholag

After mulling it over in your head, you decide to keep the Durant eggs for yourselves. A colony of iron insects would be invaluable. You’d have to deal with the rival colony of Durants from beneath the ground, but that was fine; you’d just have to deal with them later down the line. Under Khull’s supervision, your tribesmen set up a pit filled with warm coals. Not hot enough to burn the eggs within, but just enough to keep them developing. Your guards watch the depths entrance intently, but no attack comes. Yet.

These insects would prove to be very hungry in the future, and you figure that there’s no better time than now to keep them fed. Your tribesmen get to work on gathering whatever mushrooms they can find. It turns out that there isn’t many mushrooms in the mountains though, so you head down to the Silken Forest. You wisely order your tribesmen to stay away from the deeper parts of the forest; you don’t want to start anything with the Silkfoot Tribe right now, after all. With help from your Breloom, it does not take long to find ones that are edible. He even manages to find some that have minor medicinal properties.

As you oversee the operation, you hear a surprised shouting from one of your tribesmen. You move over to investigate, and find that one of your tribesmen had fallen over as if their muscles had seized. Your men drag the man to safety and administer a Cheri Berry, familiar with the effect of paralysis. As they do so, you turn to the source: a pair of insects with mushrooms on their back. Breloom looks prepared to battle, so you send him in. It does not take long to neutralize these strange insects. It seems the spore-laced nets don’t work too well, but at least they’re not getting out of that soon. You decide to take them with you for now. Maybe they’ll be useful once the mushroom farm gets developed.

>Discovered: Tiny Mushroom
>Gain Food Source: Mushrooms

>Two Paras were caught! They can be assigned to someone or designated as livestock.

You head over to your new companion and begin training. It goes better than you’ve anticipated. The Tauros moves as if it had done this his entire life. When you ask the beast to show you what it can do, it shows you. It charges at a nearby stone, horns pulsating with that mystical energy you saw. Then it roars, surrounding itself in a brilliant palpable energy before slamming its hooves into the cave floor, causing several stalagmites to erupt from the ground. Lastly, it slowly circles a particularly large Hard Stone. The Tauros then moves quick, striking the stone with a familiar metallic shine on its horns. After doing some more training, you call it a day.

With this newly discovered metal, you decide to run some tests. Ghaak begins to melt down the Tin ore they found. It turns out to be just like copper, once melted and cleansed from its impurities. The metal is only slightly more durable than copper. Your men are disappointed, but Ghaak becomes curious as to what would happen if they were combined.

Ritan watches curiously as his mentor melts both metal ores together. The result is a strange, metal blend. To everyone’s surprise, the result is a metal that is even tougher than Hard Stone. This is an immense breakthrough, and the two metalshapers begin to work on making more of this strange new metal.

Several days later, a wounded man arrives at the Draak village and promptly collapses. The man is dressed in tattered clothes. You order your tribesmen to take care of him and put some guards on watch. Your tribesmen treat him, and he wakes up some time later. When he comes to, he looks frantic and begins to relay a message.

“Where is your chieftain? I must speak with him!” When you tell him that you are the chieftain, he looks relieved. “My name is Alran. I bring news from the Embersnatcher Tribe, from the Sunkissed Desert in the East.” He tells you. “Our tribe is at war with another tribe called the Wavebringers. They must live in those islands to the southeast…” Alran says to you, out of breath. You tell him to slow down, and explain it to you.

“We underestimated them. They have beastmasters of great power. Their leader controls the Ocean Spirit known as Gyarados. Our fire was no match for their control over water.” He explains. “Our tribe leader is too stubborn to ask for aid, even though it is likely that we will fall to their might soon.” His pleading eyes are full of hope. “Please, we call for your aid! If the Embersnatchers fall, the Wavebringers will continue their conquest westward, and our village will fall…”

Alright, boys and girls, this is the Wavecrasher battle plan ! First, let's review what we know about our enemy.
>They're a tribe with a Water type specialization, that are good tamers, and probably leave near the sea.

>Dragonair probably won't be too good. Let me explain. Water-type usually carry Ice coverage. Now, are prehistoric tribesmen advanced enough to teach Ice attacks to their Water types ? Maybe not, but better safe than sorry.
>Training the Paras and Breloom is good move.
>Bronze weapons can give us an edge. We should probably forge some before we go.
>Researching medicine before we go might also be a good call. Chances are we'll receive at least some wounds. Untreated wounds are bad.

I mean, we've taught Dragonair and Breloom non-dragon/non-grass and fighting type moves. The Wavebringer's water Pokemon having Ice-type moves is totally within the realm of possibility.
>>

Plus I wouldn't be surprised if that Gyarados knew some Dragon-type moves either. Dragon is weak to Dragon.

We could even sabotage the Gyarados to Raeg so hard at their base it goes onto a Rampage.

Just because we like fighting doesn't mean we have to be stupid. Or fair.

Alright, so real talk:

We need to start researching and developing armor and weapons from bronze. Tools can come later; we have Pokemon, so I think that we'll be fine for now.

We need to set up Ghaak so he can smith efficiently and effectively. His Numel needs to learn Flamethrower, too, so he can forge more effectively

After that, I say we develop clay and research houses, just for the fuck of it.

We could probably make bolas. Just tie two rocks with a vine or something

I want to know how deep the damn horror cave is first tho. And possibly get a Tyrunt or Bagon
>>
>>1969708
Fucking hell riding into battle mounted on a Tyrantrum would be awesome.
>>
Whats the time line on the attack? How long do we have, can we experiment with some electric moves?
>>
>>1968916
A reminder that we need to expand our food sources. We're in decent territory right now, but the Durants are coming. If we don't work towards that, we can expect trouble.
>>
>>1969877
Which is also why we need to get Ghaak to train with Numel
>>
>>1970343
No I mean our Durants

Ah

Not quite dead yet. Still alive, but I've still got stuff to do before I can run again. I apologize for the wait.

And also I forgot to archive the last thread and it's really pissing me off. Ah well, at least it was thread #0, but still.
