It is Jurias, Year 816.
What's been happening in the last few years?
Well, in 812 Empress Wave Petros declared war on the Rhoznaxi Caliphate - after two years of war against Rhoznax and Zhongian, the Pantheonic Alliance was making gains in Setyrias, but was taking losses in Hajatas. While Akeshizu expanded into the islands of the sunset sea, annexing the Kingdom of Selaven, the war on the continent was a slow-moving, yet bloody one. A peace conference was called by the Serene Celestials - the Draconic gods of Zhongian - during which attention was brought to the threat in the west. On the continent of Ranelirda, the catlike Felinkot had invaded the bird races of the Avorei in the name of their gods - the Vast Ones. The Caliph of Rhoznax, who revealed himself to be the Old God Dark himself, explained that he was the last of his kind still uncorrupted by the Vast - the rest having been imprisoned in various locations, most of them unleashed upon the world. The goal of Felinkot the war against the Avorei is to free the Vast Old God of Light. The Dark Caliph exposed Wave as a servant of the Vast, but before her trial could begin she made her escape into the west.
A ceasefire was struck with the Caliphate and former enemies turned their attention to the common threat in the west. We have fought off two of the Vast Gods - Earth and Wind - with the aid of the Pantheonic Champions - a band of varied adventurers, knights, priests and others, heroes chosen by the Gods to wield their power in the Mortal World. During the last battle, the armies of Roggar and Orlaeg struck at a Felinkot army commanded by Wind, the God having posessed the body of the titan Ahinashada. The great battle ended with the Champion of Stoman entering an avatar form and striking down Wind.

Now Roggar commands the largest Pantheonic army in Ranelirda - with our allies having taken significant losses and the beasts of the sea having deprived them from reinforcements. It is Roggar's decisions on that war front that will have the greatest impact.

We've petitioned for more loans from the Imperial Bank, now under dwarvish and gnomish management. We're granted money and bonds with which we may purchase resources needed for the war - primarily metals - coincidentally, the dwarves of Petrekshan and Kragnaal still have a surplus of those even with the war's toll.
In other Setyrian news, a political crisis in the Grand City of Ezirin led to riots, the assassination of the Grand Council and all-round turmoil in that Imperial Principality. The Emperor gave permission to the other Principality - that of the Minos Mountains - to send forces to intervene and bring order.
The first fleet that was sent from Kamborash, bearing reinforcements, suffered harsh losses at sea and few reached Ranelirda's shores.
The high elves are constructing a portal that will link their homeland to the Avorei Empire - the Ranelirdan side is being erected at Freedompath, one of the major cities in Orlaeg's Holy Mountain region.
Akeshizu has reported that their fleets have successfully been combatting the abyssal feinds, while their army has landed on Orlaeg's eastern coast and is marching towards the mountain front.

The next batch of reinforcements for Ranelirda are getting ready to sail out now - if you want to send something or someone from your faction along with the next 20k Royal Roggarian soldiers, say it here. Consult me if you want.

Now, on to matters in Ranelirda. While the armies have their own movements, not all problems are suitably resolved by applying a hundred thousand swords to them. There's a few points of interest that we could pursue with small, but elite units.

There are plans for a major naval engagement - the Akeshizu have provided us with a sea route to the elusive Torrentas isles, known for years as a den of piracy - now believed to be the center from which the Vast of Water operates.

The Caliphate has told us of one of their newer findings - two former associates of their regime that we are familiar with, both having switched sides. Namely, those are the necromancer Whitesnow, who the Aurileni also have a high bounty on, as well as the demon warlord Charron. Charron is believed to be somewhere around the Corvonni front, while Whitesnow's company is believed to be operating in Safolok, which is to say closest to the bloody Lowlands front.

Another place of interest is the northern front - the Norse and Buhowli are buckling under pressure from the armies of Ice and Earth, but now that summer is in its height we stand at the best chance to combat them according to some of our allies. Aside from Winter elves of Greskulm - whose treachery has been confirmed without a doubt - Eternians have also been spotted as active troops on the enemy's side on that front.
Which of these special missions seems most deserving of your attention now?
A.The Torrentas - "Chasing waves"
B.The Lowlands - "Death before surrender"
C.The Crowlands - "Smell of hellflames in the morning"
D.The Owl front - "Best served cold"

As for who I'm sending, whilst Korl has arrived, it is decided that the one going to the Owl front is Lee and, surprisingly, Kogal, who has arrived on the front himself. With his lieutenant, Kogal wishes to finally join the fight. With the Ashen Prince imprisoned, the only one left is the Whitevayne.
>>
How about a combined option? Your characters on the spot are mostly in the Holy Mountains region; Closest by are the Lowlands, after that it's the Crowlands and then the Owl Front. The Torrentas are out at sea.
You could form a raid party that gains (and, most likely, loses) members as it goes north, going through one mission to the next.
A.Sure, let's make it a full route - Lowlands, Crowlands and then Owl Front

Now the important question - Who are you sending on this quest? Characters with optional followers from your faction. If you don't have any ideas, ask me and I could give you some non-Roggarians. The plan is to assemble an elite strike force that will grow as it travels and have as its goal the elimination of key enemy targets that can affect the outcome of the war.

tl;dr - Whomst yall sending?

Ser Robert Armbruster, leader of the Order of the Boars and a renowned knight of Roggar will be joining the elite strike force. Along him will be Reimar Nomin, heir to House Nomin and Kolina aka "Baba", who have both participated in similar strike forces in Eternia,
>>
>>1918240
My group will be composed of seven men...

The Hais are there to act as support in case any are too injured to fight; they wish to also get involved in the fight against Storm, as believers in the Old Ways.

Ser Nebuline and Ser Marles both join up; Marles is there to act as moral support for his lord, while Nebuline wishes to protect his friend and commander, Lee, from acting too rashly out of anger.

Lastly, of course, are Korl and Kogal. These two are going out of a desire for revenge, having arrived for that purpose. Whereas Kogal wants revenge for both his vassal and Persephone, Korl is there purely to destroy Whitesnow by his own hands. He is the last demon standing, and he will do this even if he dies trying.

It is the 19th of Jurias and our army, numbering about sixty thousand men, reaches the frontlines of the lowlands. We had no interruptions along the way, supplies and morale are in great condition.
The front, not quite so much. In some places soldiers are busy burying their fallen comrades, elsewhere their remains are burned to prevent the spread of miasma, while scavengers loot the battlefield. A terrible battle was fought here, one of many - the landscape is scarred, the ruins of towns and villages have been reduced to ash, cinder and the occasional upturned stone. A hellish landscape stretching for miles, across hills, forests and grasslands.

This front is primarily being held by the armies of Dahuntok, with backing from Orlaeg and Ondalia. Indeed, most of these people you're seeing are duckmen - both the corpses and the looters.

You make your way to the main camp of the Dahuntoki King. Plate-clad duck knights allow your leaders to enter the King's command tent where His Royal Majesty, Dahanald Dahek IX, is sitting on a cushioned throne chair. A medic just finished bandaging his wounds before being dismissed by the king of the ducks with a wave of his hand, a precious ring on every finger that can hold one.
"So you've seen it fit to come down from the high mountain and join us lowly soldiers here on the real battlefield, huh? Welcome, make yourselves at home." None of his generals laugh and the King groans.
"All right, sit down and tell me what you want and what you plan to do. I've held this front well so far and I'll keep holding it, but with your help we could turn this into a counteroffensive."
>>
>>1918676
"What happened outside? How big was the attacking Felinkot force, and was there a vast one aiding them?"
>>
>>1918676
"I plan to fuck shit up"
>>
>>1918676
"Greetings king Dahek. Our great army is here to lend you assistance, as is appropriate for good allies seeing their friends in need of help.

As for me and my noble companions, we come here seeking the head of a certain character named Whitesnow. Have you perhaps heard any knowledge where we can find our prize and the body presumably attached?"
>>
>>1918701
>>1918676
Lee speaks.

"Whitesnow is an old enemy, if we can take out her, the forces they have will soon wither in number. She was, oh, some kind of special lich last I heard. Along with reinforcements this could change the numbers in your favor."
>>
>>1918676
"We have been sent here as an elite strike force that will aim to eliminate key enemy targets that will have an effect on the war as a whole. Besides us the high command has sent a further 60 thousand reinforcements now that the Mountain front has been secured. We would ask you to share the information you currently have on enemy positions, numbers and if there are any notable persons there. Our information shows that the necromancer Whitesnow has been operating in this area."
>>
>>1918688
"Three of them have passed through this front - Wind, Flame and Earth. I hear you and your friends managed to kill Wind - that's great, means there's just...what, five more to go? Flame's currently busy with the crows, so if we go up against one of the Vast Gods, it'll be Earth most likely."
"As for how big their force was - bigger than ours for sure, and we had a total force of a hundred and fifty thousand - mostly my own."
"It's about half of that now, but I'm getting reinforcements weekly. The cats aren't endless, soon enough they'll run out of bodies to throw at us."
>>1918701
"Whitesnow? Who's that?" He asks one of his generals something and he replies in their own language.
"Oh, the corpsebirther. Aye, to make up for the lack of titans or gods, the enemy's been throwing undead at us. There is no shortage of material for them as you probably saw. I heard some Whitesnow character was behind it all - if you want to take her out, I'll send you some of my men to help. We may have recently stumbled upon their center of operations if these scout reports are true."
>>
>>1918718
"So, with our men added to your own we got ourself a fine two hundred thousand, A fearsome force indeed should you desire initiating a counterattack.

Now, if you got the location of their lair, we would be most grateful for lending us your guides and some of your men. We'll make it quick and clean."
>>
>>1918718
"Good we can send a force to end that woman's path of desolation and if Tormok doesnt show up, take on the Felinkot forces in the Lowlands."
>>
"Well, all right. Sir Dowie and his company will tell you what you need to know."

You are directed to a plump duck knight sipping on some local swill. You tell him that you've been sent by the King and he explains to you that they know exactly where the witch is hiding and have prepared a raiding party.
Now you have to decide - what'll you do with your army and what'll you do with the raiding group?
>>
>>1918768
I suggest we'll have our main army support the army of king Dahek, as he got 75% of the troops here his claim for supreme command is hard to challenge.

For the raid. I suggest we'll accompany sir Dowie and his raiders to the site. There he and his men will carry out a feint attack while our party utilize stealth to sneak in and eliminate Whitesnow.

Three Pantheonic Champions are nearby - they will all participate in the operation in one way or another - either helping the army or the raid group. The question is, which do you want to join the raiding party?

The two Champions introduce themselves to you.

"I'm Morslieb Tombkeeper, Champion of Mor. I have a few of my followers around - some will help your operation. That's all." the goblin clad in black says.

"Hi! I'm Gwenella Yanick, I'm Drana's Champion and I'm happy to meet you all! I'll be helping you with your injuries and keeping you all fit to fight - healing, painkillers, performance enchancers, I have plenty of potions if you need them! I also have a team of cute helpers with me, my own students and friends - as long as we work together, we'll do great!" The gnome says. She keeps on talking afterwards, but it's less important pratter that most of you don't listen to much.

The Roggarians sent from the factions number 38, there's another twelve from the army as well. There's six Dahuntoki, ten high elves, five varied warriors from the Caliphate and four elites from other Pantheonic nations. The total force is under one hundred men and women.

With the dubs, that's 188, so 62,6 average.
The army advances on the main enemy force while another feint group assaults a nearby position of the necromancers' camps - it's a small tent camp that eventually leads to a cave system where the witch herself supposedly is. And that's where you are headed - with Morslieb scouting the way forward, he's able to remotely communicate with Gwenella who can inform you on what he's seeing. The feint manages to pull away most of the camp defenders to one side - what you'll have to fight are those still in the camps and those guarding the entrances to the caves - there's some golems, some undead and some living, along with a few magic-wielders around.

Countless skellies fall beneath your hammer.
You smash your way to him, reinforcing his position. The goblin nods at you with approval.
>>1919080
You're lucky in that the enemies you face are weak- easy prey for your claws.
>>1919081
>>1919082
>>1919085
You, on the other hand, land in the middle of a concentration of undead - and some of them are bigger, their skeletal mass being a tougher target as their crude weapons beat down upon you. Robert's left shoulder is dislocated by blunt force trauma. Feyd takes a spear through the calf, Kaltor gets stabbed in the right armpit with a rusty, possibly poisonous dagger.
>>1919091
Your aid is just in time for Kaltor's bigger fireblast, one that blew away the undead before him. Steadily, the skeletons are falling down and your path ahead is cleared, but you have some wounded among you. Thankfully, Gwenella is providing healing on the spot and the wounds you've gotten so far are nothing life-threatening - in fact, in the minute or so time you have to collect your thoughts and catch your breaths, the medics have cured all poisons, stopped all bleeding and activated rapid regeneration processes in your bodies. "You're all good to go!"

And it looks like it'll be needed - the path ahead is laid with traps and there's sorcerers and ranged fighters on the other end of the hallway that are shooting at you. There's no visible alternate pathways other than straight ahead either. The ranged fighters are protected by larger figures - it's getting tougher now!

Indeed, you determined, traps are for nerds - and so you just ran through them, ignoring the occasional jolt of pain. The path you carved was used by others to cross the hallway and engage the sorcerers.
>>1919165
You...you're not quite sure what you're doing, but you're doing it just fine. Those undead already died, so you turned your attention to new ones that needed breaking.
>>1919168
You're not quite sure what the results of your illusion tricks were, since it was you who ended up getting shot - once in the right shoulder, twice in the left leg. These wounds aren't fatal, but they do hurt like a bitch.
>>1919171
You go along the trapless path of heterosexuality, through which you reach your goal - ripe skulls to smash!
>>1919178
You chug a potion to replenish your mana and then keep on shooting out firebolts - enough surpressive fire to make some enemies take cover, lowering their own ranged output.
>>1919184
Feyd and Rabban follow behind the mor enthusiastic fellows, making it safely across the dangerous road.
Outside, Thorgal and his allies have their hands full holding off enemies who are trying to hit the raid group from the rear.

You charge at the incoming enemies, breaking through them and sowing chaos in their attempts at forming ranks - you've avoided any serious damage so far as well.

Back in the caves, you've passed through the trapped hallway and are now fighting a force of golems, undead and strange warriors armored from head to toe - ward spells don't appear to have any effect on them, they are intelligent, yet the nature mages among you can sense that they're not quite normal living beings... They're all tough opponents, that's for sure.

While the golems and undead are as predictable as ever, the strange warriors form up together in a tight formation, facing you in close quarters.
>>1919278
Your attacks are blocked by shields while longer weapons reply in kind, landing blows on you - some managing to punch througher weaker points in your armor. Both Robert and Reimar are wounded.

>>1919284
Outside, the undead seem to be an endless horde - wave upon wave, they overwhelm you with sheer mass as your golems are being felled one by one and you retreat to the cave entrance.

>>1919285
>>1919282

Together, you focus your attacks on the rightmost side of their shieldwall - managing to punch through their front ranks, you disrupt their formation in that end, causing the rest to reshape their line so as to plug the gap, leaving those you attacked behind - they give you a good fight, but you dispatch of them one by one.
Meanwhile, outside, Thorgal seems to be the one around whom the last defenders are rallying - his uniyelding will and great skill inspire those who'd lost hope to keep fighting. Wave after wave of freshly-raised undead are being sent your way, but Thorgal endures.

>>1919286
Your attacks on the shieldwall are replled and you, in turn, are also struck by their longer weapons and spells.
>>1919289
The armor is good, solid plate - which is to say, something you can SMASH! YOUR ERECTION IS BACK!

>>1919299
Your attacks keep the heat on the enemy for a while as they fall bac, but their retreat stops at a checkpoint - where you see your own spells evaporating. The mages nearby sense a powerful magical activity from behind the shieldwall.

And what of these strange fighters? Those who were isolated were picked apart one by one and could briefly be studied. Some had skeletal bodies, others - rotting flesh, while one of them had a completely healthy look to his...crow face. Of the five you've killed so far, three have been Corvonni.

Most of the enemy's rank and file in the caves are eliminated and now it's the elites holding the line while the masses outside try to reak in.

Spellfire from the enemy's side is deflected by Kolina's wards, while Reimar and Robert's wounds are healed - they're still just a bit tired and bruised, but they're ready to fight nevertheless.
>>1919385
Perhaps it sounded great in your minds, but the idea would not come to be - your kobolds made a frantic rush for some golems that looked like they could be hijacked, but you would never find out if it was just a pipe dream - spears and swords impaled your bodies before you could make it.
>>1919387
Your strength in all five limbs endures as your smack snaps neck after neck.
>>1919388
This time the trick didn't work - their shieldwall held and you got some light wound of your own instead.
>>1919392
Thorgal and his brothers still hold fast - the kobolds gone now. Feyd and Rabban throw themselves into an opening in the enemy formation and take two of the strangers down quickly.
>>1919397
When the Har-konnens opened a gap, you quickly utilized it! You slipped through and started stabbing and cutting at the enemies in their weak spots, at their flanks and behind them - some had to turn around to face you which only further weakened their formation.
>>1919403
You cross blades with a skilled opponent - a human, features not so dissimilar from your own, though parts of his skin have rotted away and you can see the bone in places after you knocked his helmet off.

From behind the shieldwall, sorcerous energies swirl around, aimed not at the attackers, but at the fallen defenders instead...At the corner of his vision, Lee sees an elf - without a doubt, the one they're here to kill - Whitesnow!

Whitesnow finishes her incantation. Seven short figures are protecting her - also armored across their entire bodies like those in the shield wall.
Among those warriors lying on the ground, a few stand up again, taking up their weapons and shields - slowly, their energy returns as they join the fight again. Not all, to the displeasure of their mistress, but some nevertheless.

Thorgal still holds, as tiresome as it is.

>>1919486
The familiar foe is easier - you hit them where they were already damaged, putting down two of the warriors.
>>1919493
Deciding on a humbler, yet importan role, you do well - you pull away several shieldbearers, stopping them from reinforcing Whitesnow's position.
>>1919495
A bolt hit Korl as he was drinking the potion. He gulped only part of it down, the rest being spat out alongside more blood. Still, he charged ahead, engaging one of the shieldbearers that had reached the dwarves.

Maneuvering into position, Morslieb throws his daggers and bombs at the enemy - less weight on him, more damage on them before he strikes in melee. Having picked up speed, he charged in at a speed no man or goblin should be able to move at - the speed of his legs could only be matched by that of his arms, swinging the messer with swiftness and precision, cutting down two dwarves and then striking at the witch herself - landing a cut that tore through her robes and made her bleed. Whitesnow backed away and frantically summoned ice walls between her and the goblin.
>>1919560

Three bolts, loosed in quick succession one after another with the semi-automatic crossbow - each bearing different enchantments, they were aimed for Whitesnow - the first two deflected by her ice, but the third landed in the neck of the lich, disrupting her spellcasting and putting her on her knees.

Kogal laughs as he hears his demonic vassal being called his own name. He had heard there had always been confusion between Kogal and Korl, but he never thought he'd witness it firsthand. Kogal the Lord and Korl the Demon; they both had their own roles in life. But Kogal knew what Korl was thinking sitting there, and plunged into the battle without a word. If he died there, so be it; but one of their line had to at least try to avenge her. He would look for the phylactery.
>>
You quickly catch the runner - a living one, some warlock that had been hiding all this time. He got knocked out and the phylactery is in your hands - the last remnants here got mopped up, while the undead that had just started pouring into the chamber are now crumbling apart - those still standing are easy to take care of.

The battle is over - but a decision must be made. What to do with the phylactery - to destroy it here and now and, with it, the soul of the lich, or to take it so she can be interrogated in a secure space.

Korl is sitting, still receiving some aid.

"Kaletor, with all due respect, I don't give a damn. We all know what she's done, we all know what punish she deserves, and yet you all insist on this thrice damn farce. Three times she's harassed the Empire, and you would see fit to let her spend more time living? Too many have died by her; at least our comrades fallen here we can remember the name of. Look at the poor sods on the ground who were forced to fight by her, and you tell me their names. You tell me if they would have wanted her to live longer. Ultimately is it selfish? Yes. But she killed my family and that of many people here, and you think interrogation should happen. Even if we did so, we would be sinking to her level; there is no moral gray spot here, torture is torture. I should know, I'm the one who turned myself into this monstrosity. That is wrong, as is this."
>>
"I'll do a compromise version. Gwen, come over here to help out with the mind reading."
"Okaaaaay, I just finished the last broken bones." the gnomess says as she happily comes along. The two silently weave their spells around the object, which emits a glow of some force. It's a minute and a half of silence, after which the champions take their hands away.
The goblin sighs. "She's been experimenting for centuries, trying to perfect the foul art of necromancy. She switched sides to work for the Vast Ones because they showed her power - and those things you saw were the latest invention. Basically, undead that could resist our wards. Knowledge that must be destroyed - and that's what I did as soon as possible, knowing from the past when I've hunted her of her general intentions.
There is one problem in the whole thing. Those Caliphatists followed me and tried to take the research notes from the lab - they wouldn't heed my warning, so I killed them - they were ready for a fight, it seems. The dark elf among them managed to snatch one tome away before he teleported. This is what's worrying me now. As for the witch, here." He hands the vial back to Marcus "Your hammer may do the trick."

Marcus, Rabban and Kaletor each felt their manly confidence decline as the snickers of the women observing them grew with each passing failed attempt at destroying the vial. Finally, their weapons chipped and mana exhausted, they made way for Korl who used all of his own mana and magical prowess to destroy the phylactery. Its magical defenses eventually failed under the heat barrage and the glass and metal began to melt away. In a few minutes, the deed was done - the witch is dead.

The raid party returns to camp, successful. At the command centre, you're briefed on the present situation: The troops are being withdrawn - the diversionary battle had no clear victor. The king of the Ducks is wounded and unconsciouss, he led over a quarter of his forces to death for little gain - the other friendly armies performed quite well, on the other hand, including Roggar's army.

21.7.816. You've gathered to discuss the next part of your strategy. The special raid team has three more targets on its list. The Roggarian army stands 55 thousand strong. The ducks have thirty thousand left, with another twenty fiuve thousand assorted allied forces - Orlaegi and Ondalian.

The Corvonni frontlines are two weeks' march with the army away, less with a smaller group. Essentially, we'll have to decide what to do with the army on one hand and the raiding force on the other.
>>
>>1936852
The army should head for the Corvonni front as the raid group too carries on with their journey; no need for them to take too much attrition.

Strategy is not my forte, but i propose that the army entrench in superior position to hold off the enemy while the raiding party strike deeps and do damage behind.

Although, I do say that if an opportunity present itself we should let the commanders of units to carefully take opportunity with initiative.

1st of Charodis. We trekked along the eastern edges of the swamp, areas that are partially cleared out and utilized as farmlands - but still primarily covered by forest. We make contact with the southern Corvonni army- a force of roughly thirty thousand regulars and a changin amount of irregulars trying to stop the enemy from crossing the Kibruk river. The leader of this army is General Nichmoh, an old and experienced crow.
"Your arrival is most fortuitous, Roggarians. The centaurs' forces are a scant few thousand, holding the coastal region lest we are cut off from our northern army entirely. We've been entirely on the defensive for months - we were bleeding the cats hard in the beginning, but they upped their firepower - in a very literal fashion. Where the land does not suit them, they simply burn all in their path. I'd read your books about "Hell" and I think all of us here have seen it already."

>>
>>1937063
"Demons? The last reports we got from the northern front did mention them - and some powerful one burning through the forests there. The forces he has under his command are mostly from the plains - the warriors of the Great Prides. What they lack in discipline, they try to make up with speed and ferociousness. We've got bigger problems for ourselves here - a fiery Titan. The crystalseers say that's the God of Fire in the flesh. His mortal minions are mostly the proffesional army of Cilenar - methodical and disciplined, they clear away patches of forests one by one as they advance carefully."

“Indeed, this Charron character is of great interest to my paymasters back home.” Feyd says, producing a letter bearing the seal of the Master of Law from his robe:
“I have here something that might interest both you and your men general, as well as my fellow Roggarians naturally.

My master, Trusted Councilor Drunf, promises 1 million fishmarks to the one delivering the head of Charron to Trusted Defense. And that’s pocket change for what he will pay for live capture.
In addition, Countess Vance promises knighthood, riches and an estate with one thousand commoners attached to it for the heart of the demon on a tray.

Now, this is obviously a matter of being first to the feeding tray as my dear uncle Jasper would say. Good hunting and all that.
As for myself I intend to claim both rewards for my own glory, the Pantheon willing.”

The Champions are familiar to some or all of you - The Griffon Knight, Gauthier Durant, Champion of Ezdar; The Master Smith, Patrice Gervais, Champion of Kovag; The Sturdy Shield, Emmerich Ford, Champion of Zemel.

Various Corvonni officers are assembled, including a general who's just arrived with long-awaited reinforcements from the capital. The total amount of Corvoni army forces in this area has risen to 50k and they have the support of more than fifteen thousand irregulars. The Roggarian army numbers 55k. Allied intelligence puts the army of Cilenar at around a hundred thousand - so, with all our forces, we most likely outnumber them. The main threat is the Fire God himself.

Any plans from you, Roggarian commanders?

"Frankly" Sir Emmerich speaks "We stand a chance to defeat the enemy and possibly banish Fire, but it would definately cost us a lot. The enemy army is capable and won't budge easily and the Vast One himself is incredibly powerful. I believe that delaying actions are better for now. It's the warmest month of the year, for Gods' sake, we're all sweating buckets in our armors just by going out in the sun."
"We stand a good chance against their army, but with the titan there, it will be an absolute bloodbath. We need more allies here to confidently take him out - that would come at the expense of some other front, however. There's the Celestial Dragons to the south, nine champions besides us here and the other armies. I'd ensure support can be recieved from somewhere else before commiting to an attack on that titan."

The Cilenari approached our positions - firm ranks, watchful of ambushes - not that there was any forest left for the crows to use. Rather than stand at the back, behind an ever-increasing difficulty level of minions, Fire Himself can be seen leading the army of the lions! Their red and gold banners fly boldly as they approach our positions. Our allies have taken up some positions and are moving in to hit the enemy from the side - but there's one big problem. The river was somewhat shallow already - something the dragons were working on fixing - but massive firestorms began raining down on the very water, a concentrated magic attack that is heating the water up to a boiling temperature and causing it to vaporise - what little could have halted the enemy's advance is quickly turning to steam.
The Cilenar approach, you can hear the drums from here and see the great colossal at the center of their force.

Mad Marcus is the only one who charges forward. By some miracle, he slips past the lionmen - they don't pay any attention to him. He slips past all guards, soldiers and even a certain harbinger - and soon enough, Marcus is sweating in the face of the Fire God Himself. Alone, clad in plate, blessed warhammer in his right hand and shield in his left, he stands against a being towering far over a hundred feet. A being that does not even notice his presence there. The heat is almost unbearable, but there he is - bloody Mad Marcus, the eternal hothead.

That should have been enough, Fire thinks to himself. He's not feeling anything poking him, so he returns to normal heat and focuses on things that matter - like throwing a massive fireball at the retreating army.

Marcus, meanwhile, is screaming as the firey winds wash over him. He has never felt such heat in his life, he has never been in this much pain - his flesh is melting in places, he is cooking inside his armor, but he is not yet dead. One thing is keeping him alive and moving where any other man would be dead - anger. Enough will for one more attack against the titan.

The hammer hit hard - a blow stronger than anything its wielder had ever dealt, the force behind it - a force of anger. He wound his arm back again for another strike, but when the hammer hit the titan's foot for the third time, the force behind it was meagre. Skeletal fingers were holding it by the hilt. Mad Marcus' final rage was over - but there it was, in the titan's right foot, a crack left by an angry man's hammer. Something that, in a future fight, another warrior may find. But not today - the armies retreated, falling back beyond the river and running for miles before they could afford to slow down. Several thousand men were lost in the retreat, but we avoided an open battle at least. Our main losses were in supplies - some of the heavier equipment had to be abandoned on the field - and also in morale and land. The Cilenar have crossed the Kibruk river.
It is 14.8.816. Finally, you're able to sit down and rest near a large town. Time enough to discuss the next course of action.
