"We really do need to head back to the mountains..." You pause, Nissa looks disappointed, "But we can wait a little while if you want to show us around."

"Really?" Nissa brightens, "Oh, there's so much to show! My airship, the museum, the cartography room, the-" She froze, "Ah, even the library too! I'm sorry, I only know the campus grounds, friends..."

You ponder a bit... You don't have a map, actually. The museum... you wonder how much of the past they've pieced together. You might be able to learn what you missed about the grand war. You simply know the cause, the countries and their atrocities, and that you won... and how you won.

Nissa leads you through hallways to a room of globes and maps. All are incomplete.

A tall, thin archivum magician turns, "Ah, Nissa, I hope you put things back this ti-" On noticing you, he pales, "Who are these... heavily armed folk?"

"Friends. Everyone, Cartographer Terry. Terry, my friends. So this is the cartography room..."

You take note of the known world. Alainn isn't marked, but you know its borders. Artoria adds the world map to her existing data. The regions you traversed were miniscule in scale. There is a big world out there.

"So, um, this is the map room, yes, can I help you?" Terry asks.

"Where are most ruins found?" You ask Terry. The Archivum man shrinks away from you slightly.

"W-well, most ruins are found to the east of the Firetops. Mostly Ollamic ruins, though. They lessen in density South through Escarth. Otharthurian ruins are around the desert region, although some are in Delothian lands. Zerican ruins, both flying and crashed, litter the world. Some of the larger ones are over the ocean, near Nelola and Lenis. The unknown lands are, well, unknown, and are too dangerous to fly in."

It makes sense. Ollam's capital was somewhere east of Otharthur. That was where the Ollam Archive was... Which was probably a human too. ...A human with the power to override any and all magical systems... You hope nobody has found it yet. As for Otharthur itself, well, the sprawling megalopolis is long gone now. \You wonder where the Zerican capital of Tassegarde went.

"So, what is it you do, Terry?"

"I am in charge of archiving and updating all our maps. It is a painstaking task, but I keep everything in order." He smiles, showing a bit of pride in this room.

"How old do you suppose those ruins are?" You ask Terry, "What do you suppose happened to the people inside?"

"That's more of Nissa's department. I work with maps. I can tell you where things typically are or can be found, really." He indicates your guide, "Nissa, please?"

"Well! The ruins are around 4,000 years old in most cases. It seems a catastrophic event wiped out all life for most of these settlements, which is astonishing. Although the underground sections of Ollamic ruins show life continued afterwards. Social structure and heirarchy deteriorated from most of our findings. Zericans that lived are thought to have been stranded on their flying castles, isolated and starving to death as their food stores were not enough to sustain the population alone. There's no indication of life in the Otharthuran ruins though."

You frown, it seems Alainn's superweapon wasn't the most thorough method. Slow, agonizing death wasn't really what your country favored.

"What do you know of Terminals?"

"Terminals? It's damn near impossible to make them friendly. Only the Delothian Empress and a few select individuals have managed it. They refuse to talk to most, calling them 'barbarians.' Your terminal companion is the most... um, human... one I've seen. We've been unable to get any information from them, but they seem to be part of some inhumane experiment."
>Who is the Delothian Empress?

"So who is this Empress?" This time Terry reacts.

"Empress Cheshir of the Delothian Empire. She's ruled for the past couple decades. While we can't access any ruins, The Delothians have, and they have obtained many things from the Ollamic ones. Specifically Terminals that will obey the commands of the empress for some reason. They are altered somehow and become Empress's Daughters. They are VERY dangerous. The empress has ruled the Delothian Empire with an iron fist, and her airship fleets are possibly the most powerful in the world, rivaling Nelola's. We're lucky she lives on the continent of Kistua."

"So... Terry, are there large ruins in the desert?"
"Large? How so?"
"Larger than the various ones of Inis and Koro.
Bigger than, say, Bunker Gemini."
"If there are, we've never found any such ruins. Most expeditions that go into the sands never come back if they go too deep. Even airships vanish."

Odd term, Vanish. Perhaps the Otharthurans have developed ranged cloaking technology. That was something that had eluded Alainn's grasp.

You wonder if Jeremy Trost developed anything similar.

"Have you ever seen a Zerican ruin the size of one of the Hiragi islands?"

Terry blinks, "Like the small ones or..."

"The big ones."

Terry laughs a bit. then gets more nervous as he sees your serious, "N-no. For a skyfortress to be that big would be... astonishing."

Alright then, Tassegarde is still missing somewhere. That's good. You don't need a flying city that can control all the other sky fortresses in anyone's hands. If it's in the bottom of the ocean, all the better.

"Actually, wasn't there word of a floading island of huge size in the mistlands?" Nissa asks.

"I think that was just a hallucination. Mistlands are too dangerous to traverse anyhow." Terry dismisses the idea... Although you might need to go check out these mistlands later...

"How about... Alainn ruins?"

Terry sighs, "If Alainn DID exist, I suppose their rins would be in the northern wastes or on Muir Nin. But no Alainn ruins have been found."

Nissa glares at Terry, "The Raiders have gear and vehicles not of Otharthurian make! I think that's a clear case of Alainn technology!"

Terry groans, "Oh no, not this again. Nissa, until Alainn ruins are found, that country is a myth. A fairy tale, like fairies or Immortals."

Vivianne snickers.

"What? What's so funn- heh. those... those wings-" Terry pales

"Are real!" Your faerie party member lifts into the air. "I'm a fairy!"

"Nissa. Nissa, am I asleep? Nissa why are you in my dream?" Terry looks to the mage, who is likewise dumbfounded.

"F-fairies are real?"

Clark grabs the faerie out of the air, "Yes, fairies are real, they just typically stay away from people." His response snaps the Archivum magicians out of it, "Don't look for them."

"R-right." Terry nods.

"Where are the mistlands, Terry?"

The mage points to the map, in the unknown area past Elidan, "The mistlands are here. Strange creatures lurk in those mists... The Delothians sometimes make forays in there. There's creatures bigger than airships called Yanth. They tear ships apart." This is all new to you. The mistlands didn't exist to your knowledge, but that was deep Zerican territory. You have no idea what was there. Mountains, probably?

"Erm, what of very large ollamic ruins?"

"Larger than normal ones? I don't think there really are any..." Terry frowns. You sigh in relief. The Ollam capital (and the Archive) are still undiscovered.

"When you say 'vanish,' what do you mean?"

"Gone. No trace remains. Sometimes we find evidence of them... bones, archivum clothing, airship wrecks..." Nissa replies, "I was intending to do an expedition there before we'd met, actually. I think I'm going to go to the east of the Firetops. Not now, though, hah. A bit later."

She frowns, "Lost many classmates to those expeditions. I really want to know what's in that desert."

She bids farewell to terry, leading you through another hallway, "Next is something we are quite proud of... the museum of ancient history!"

A dragon skeleton greets you... As well as an array of vehicles and tech from your era. All weathered and beaten, no longer in any shape to work. It's mostly Zerican artifacts. A whole control room has been placed here, the magic flickering weakly.

"Levels above have other civilizations!" Nissa smiles.

"Let's pass through the other levels."

"Oh, you want to see?" Nissa gleefully takes you upstairs. This is all Otharthurian tech, damaged cannons, vehicles... Even a broken apart tank... but one piecve of hardware is not pre-war in design.
