King Kai is clearly on edge as he leads you into the check-in-station. Many of the attendants look stunned to see so important a being walking among them, including King Yemma himself, who looks at you and your boss with surprise.

"King Kai, what brings you here?" the massive red creature questions.

"I need to make a trip to the Grand Kai's world," King Kai explains. "Is the Higher Plane ready to go?"

"Oh, of course, sir," King Yemma assures him, rifling through some papers. "If you just hand this to the pilot, they'll take you as soon as you're ready."

"Thank you," King Kai tells him, floating up and retrieving the paper. "You know, you should stop by my place again sometime. I get the feeling you've been slacking on your training."

King Yemma gives a nervous chuckle. "Well, I've been so swamped with paper work since last time. I doubt I could get away."

"Well, suit yourself," King Kai tells him, heading for the exit. "Let your martial arts and comedy skills grow rusty all you want."

King Yemma sighs with relief as King Kai exits the office.

You feel sick to your stomach. After getting sucked up by that monster, Krillin didn't even get to pass on. You find yourself reminded of King Piccolo, and how people slain by his kind are doomed to wander the Earth for eternity. This doesn't seem much different, possibly worse. You wonder if the people inside of Cell are still capable of thinking and feeling, or if they merge with Cell's consciousness, or..

Maybe it's better to stop thinking about it.

"What about Doctor Gero?" you ask.

Yemma flips through his book once again. "No. No Doctor Gero."

It looks like Thirteen may have been telling the truth.

Leaving King Yemma to continue his work, you rush across the office and exit after King Kai, whom you quickly spot approaching a run-down, crappy-looking plane. You still don't get why a plane to the Grand Kai's planet isn't a little nicer, but maybe he just doesn't care.

As you catch up, King Kai hands the paper to one of the blue-skinned attendants that seem to hang around the check-in-station. The attendant steps aside, letting King Kai board, only to step in front of you as you try to approach.

"I'm sorry, sir, do you have a ticket?" the man asks.

"He's with me," King Kai explains as he disappears into the plane.

"Oh, my apologies," the attendant says quickly, stepping aside.

Without further delay, you board the plane, taking a seat near King Kai, who stares out the window with an agitated expression on his face. It's not quite fear, not quite anger, but it has aspects of both.

"What do you mean?" you ask him. "I get that it's a sacred technique, but I'm a god too, right? Why wouldn't he want me using it?"

"You're a guardian, Tofoo," King Kai tells you, still staring out the window. "You may technically be a god, but you're the lowest level of god. The technique we're about to ask him to use is forbidden even among the four Kais, except in the most extreme circumstances."

"Do you know the technique?" you ask him.

He nods. "I do, but I've never been allowed to use it. Teaching it is forbidden as well, which is why I'm taking you to speak to the Grand Kai. Given the circumstances, he might agree to let you learn the technique."

King Kai finally turns his head away from the window, seeming surprised by this change of subject. "What do you mean?"

You explain the odd power that's surfaced a few times since you became the guardian of the Earth, and the odd sensations that accompany it.

"It sounds like you've been accessing godly ki," he tells you.

Even as a guardian To foo should still have the time to train. For the most part guardians and kais just watch unless things get truly dire. Like, say, a bioandroid with the potential to destroy the entire universe.

Deciding that there's no time to waste, you head right for the Grand Kai's mansion, walking beside King Kai, who waves and says "hello" to a few of his former students, but doesn't stop. Whether he can feel how anxious you are to return to Earth, or if he just wants to get this over with, you don't know, but you aren't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

It only takes a minute or so to reach the mansion, though King Kai hesitates as you reach the stairs at the entryway.
